I've been breaking HG's nose for the majority of my playthroughs for the hell of it. But I loved going deep into his mind and go fishing for a moray so I'm thinking to have that over in my save state.

Damien will definitely be curious about what happened and wouldn't be able to keep a mystery like that unsolved. If HG still seeks Damien's partnership in Book 3 (which I hope he still does), Damien would be inclined to agree in order to take advantage of HG's resources, investigate their connection, and maybe do a bit of spying for our local glorified power bank (he did promise to help after all).

What might bite him in the ass, however, is whether HG would pursue a more familial relationship with Damien...

He'd be a fool not to take advantage of their sort-of blood connection to further infiltrate HG's ranks. Getting buddy-buddy with HG might make him feel like he's wearing a dead person's skin and living their life, but he's always been good at playing roles (plus it's HG, so no harm, no foul when Damien ends up betraying him). The problem is if Damien would end up actually liking the role he's playing.

He had to act human to fulfill his missions and liked it a bit too much that he escaped The Farm. He didn't really trust the previous Rangers and Ortega all those years ago, yet he became comfortable playing hero, and now the loss of what he once had still hunts him. He swore never to make contact to the Rangers again but is now playing the role of a disillusioned retiree a bit too well and is being dangerously comfortable in their headquarters. He also planned to keep his relationship with Dr. Mortum purely transactional, yet now Jane and the good doctor are literal besties and drinking buddies.

If Hollow Ground wanted Damien to play the role of his brother and fall into the trap of finding a connection that makes him feel human, how would this be any different?

He’s a wavy turban snail, and they can live up to 12 years!!! Usually they live further down in the tidal area, but they climb kelp at night, and we think he got pushed in this morning. Also spotted: a MILLION striped crabs, many dolphins, and a huge rattlesnake (?) in the road.

“So, how are things with Dory and Niala?” per asked in Hayokin.

“Well,” Rolf said, “now, I don’t know—I’m from nowhere, you know—but I think they’re so emotionally constipated.”

Per laughed softly as per sat back in one of the swl-size chairs in a corner of the lounge. “And why is that?”

Rolf slid down onto the arm of the chair. “It’s almost painful. They work together, and I think as much as they fuck with me they must do just as much just them. You can practically see the love beams passing between them and they keep saying to me, ‘we’re just business partners’. No, no, you two are clearly not ‘just business partners’ anymore. I don’t even care anymore whether they kick me out. Can they just say that they love each other already?” Before Snap could formulate a sufficiently funny or wise response, they pointed up at per and said, “Well, what about you? Are you just business partners?”

Snap smiled, showing all of per sharp teeth in the process. “Oruga and I were never business partners, thank goodness.”

Rolf giggled. “But how is it?”

“I like them. A lot. And I suppose the sex is…passable.” The tip of per tongue poked out between per front teeth, as though Rolf needed even that much to know per was joking.

“Well, you should try falling in love. Then you can say you’re just business partners. Although…is fucking the opposite of being business partners for nswl? Is that just how it works for all the surfs?”

“Business partners can do whatever they want. It’s the coworkers and bosses that get you.”

Rolf nodded sagely. “Can’t relate. Never had a fuckable coworker.” That was enough to send them both giggling.

man the thing that always gets me the most about transformers is when they know each other by name. Like,, sure it hurts when they do because they knew each other pre war. But really when it's like,,, knowing someone by name because you've fought each other so many times in so many battles all during the same unending war that you know this person. Like, sometimes it's even more than just knowing their name sometimes you know this person. The characters that have playful relationships with each other that met for the first time on the battlefield. That are actively trying to kill each other, but will be sad about it and miss them when the other is gone. The ones that bond in unlikely situations just to go back to fighting as soon as the dust settles. Sometimes it's even at a time where the war has lost its point or contradicts what they were even fighting for in the first place. Where they're literally doomed to fight into extinction or.. stop. But they don't stop. Like, idk... The autobots and decepticons pretty much always end up fighting for an amount of time so large it's literally inconceivable. And at the end there's often so few of them left, and they mostly all know each other intimately and by name and like,,,

Idk this is really rambly and I'm having a bit of trouble articulating but sometimes I really stop and think about how many of them know each other specifically through fighting and it gets to me a little bit
