I fucking hate Twitter so much. there's this asshole guy (@Ewok_Crowe if yall want to see and/or report him mercilessly) whose tweets I've replied to on a few occasions, correcting him on his unfounded bigotry, and for some reason, I kept getting notifs about the things he retweeted and tweeted. Just the other day, he retweeted something that just made my blood boil and nearly brought tears to my eyes.

This is an account dedicated to "spreading the word of God," specifically what is written in Genesis.

As a Christian, this is just so wrong, and horrific. I want to go over the things she says in order and just why they're so disgusting.

Big TW/CW for transphobia and mentions of pedophelia

1- "This husband, father, former boy scout, has given it all up to, well, pretend to be a woman..."

First and foremost, Chris and her wife split up a year ago. They aren't married to anyone, so "husband" is incorrect. And what does being a former boy scout have to do with anything? Genuinely, what does that add to her point? It makes no sense whatsoever and just makes her sound stupid. And to even say that Chris pretending is so stupid (and narcissistic of you to assume that you know her intentions and desires). (More on point 4)

2- "And disturbingly to dress, at least so far, as more of an adolescent girl."

She pulls up a photo of Chris in a t-shirt, shorts, and with her hair tucked into a baseball hat. This outfit bears no gender, no age margin, and isn't "creepy" or "sexual" at all. What is disturbing about this image? The only thing that signifies the wearer of this outfit to be ever so slightly feminine is a few layered necklaces and a fanny pack/purse. Nothing about this is exclusive to teen girls. And even if she were wearing something that "teen girls wear," what would be the problem? Grown women dress "like teen girls," and nothing is disturbing about that? I'm going out on a limb to say that the speaker thinks that Chris finds himself attractive dressed as a young woman, which also somehow translates to... she finds actual adolescent girls attractive? That's me being generous, but even so, this point is so stupid. Plenty of men dress like "adolescent boys" and have absolutely 0 pedophilic urges??

3- "[People] uncovered in Chris' past tweets a strong connection to Japanese anime, particularly sexualized content featuring characters that dress like young girls."

First, the woman pulls up a tweet (that is very obviously fake, the spacing between his supposed @ and the tweet itself is way too large and the profile picture is misplaced, it's not even clean or convincing, just clumsy) that reads "Nothing gets my knob cranking like some Loli" (standing for lolicon). On top of how this fake tweet is formatted, if this were real, it would be the subject and main point of the entire video. If this were real, there would be no shit about how Chris dresses or if he likes anime. Don't try and start this fucking shit. She then pulls up a photo of a JBA character (not sure which one) that's insanely masculine and ripped, but the only thing that suggests him being "dress[ed] like [a] young [girl]" is a sheer, form-fitting, ripped tank top that is somewhat feminine. I'm not sure if it's just me, but I've never seen a woman's top that resembles that, let alone a top for young girls. Again, her point sounds stupid and she just embarrasses herself.

4- "The trans movement isn't about being your authentic self. It's dark, it's depraved, it's sexual, and much of it is being driven by pornography."

Jesus Christ, give me strength. Where do I even start? Okay, HRT isn't fun. You're essentially going through a second puberty, except it's the puberty cycle that you've never been through and is extremely unfamiliar and difficult to navigate. Alongside the incredible amount of transphobia they're receiving right now, transitioning and coming out to the public probably has not been enjoyable at all for her. Why would a person do that to themselves if not to become who they truly are? And she's saying that being trans is sexual, but she never really says covers what our "true intentions" would be if not to be ourselves. Just that it's sexual? Dark? She skips the entire staircase (that was made out of the air in the first damned place) and jumps to the conclusion that being trans is in fact, horrible and disgusting because... they dress like young girls and watch anime? Honey, you're going to have to rewind a bit that makes ZERO fucking sense.

5- "And they're pushing it on your kids."

This is unabashed hate/fearmongering. She makes no attempt to hide it. It's just straight-up fearmongering. And not even to mention, nothing that is being briefly represented on your child's television is "pushing it" on them. Again, she uses a slippery slope to justify her hateful comments that have little to no foundation. Her argument makes no sense and has no substance, but then she uses this comment, which is the one thing that will strike fear in any conservative mother. She is aware of this. If you need to fearmonger to get your point across, you have nothing to support your point, which says an awful lot about her and other transphobic conservatives.

My God has no mercy on hateful, disgusting people like this who have no empathy for people just a little different than them I know for a fact that if this woman in particular dies today, she will not find herself in heaven. She knows nothing of loving another human. She deserves everything that is coming for her.

When I just saw this information I couldn't stop crying thinking about it, and now my heart aches. They were the same age as me, I know for a fact like any other teen they dreamt of their future, who they would want to become, what to achieve, create, wondering if they meet those in the future they can call friends, wondeting if it'll get better when they grow up, maybe wished to leave that terrible place or maybe wanted to stay. How could anyone let this happen, why were they discharged from hospital so easily? And the school, we all know why. I hate to think about how, even with all the progress made, these things still happen.

I hate everyone who have ever committed such vile hate crimes, I wish them in prison and hell. But i would never go down to their level. But I also blame the government, the school, and even those bigoted online accounts that teach their followers hate. In this case LibsOfTikTok, who targeted the teacher of this school, who supports lgbtq+, so they had to leave their position. It must have been the push for this to happen. I think their tiktok account has been thankfully deleten. But i have no idea about Twitter or any other. Please check and mass report them if it still exists. Jesús Ociel Baena Saucedo (1984-2023) was the very first non-binary person in Latin America to become an electoral magistrate, being a member of the Electoral Tribunal of Aguascalientes in Mexico since October 2022. They also received the first birth certificate to have the sex registered as Non-Binary, a big achievement in the recognition of Non-Binary people.

Amongst other things, they defended trans youth, gay marriage, the fair hiring of LGBTQ+ people in the INE and overall pushed for a public acceptance and the stop of discrimination against the LGBTQ+ community. Jesús was known for going to work with high heels, makeup and their iconic fan with the rainbow flag, often carrying the non-binary flag too, and they fought to give visibility to non-binary people. They won the hearts of thousands.

They are considered a very important figure for the LGBTQ+ movement, specially in Latin America, as they fought very hard to defend the rights of it, both socially and politically.

They were found dead with their partner, Dorian Daniel Herrera, in the 13th of November of 2023 in Aguascalientes, in their home. The prosecutor’s office affirms it was due to a fight the two of them had, but many say it was a hate crime; the murder of activists are not too uncommon in Mexico, and even more considering their gender identity and sexuality. The ‘crime of passion’ judgement is also often put when the death of an LGBTQ+ person happens.

Either way, their death has sparked movements to punish hate crimes, and their figure remains as a symbol of hope for a better future. Mexico has a long way to go for LGBTQ acceptance, but their actions have pushed towards that goal and their memory continues to push forward. I recommend you investigate further about them if you have the time.

And in your fight for LGBTQ+ rights and your celebrations this pride month, please do not forget about Jesús Ociel.

Nex Benedict was a indigenous trans nonbinary teenager. Their head was beaten against the floor in a bathroom stall. Less than 24 hours later, they died, most likely from undiagnosed head trauma. Conservatives say they want to, "protect the children", where was the protection for Nex? That's the thing. There wasn't any. Nex died. And many more trans, queer, and nonbinary minors will if we don't step up and do something. What happened to Nex has and will happen to queer folk around the globe. Say their name.

Edit: I didn't expect this to get much attention, but thank you everyone. What alot of people, "forget" to mention was that Nex was two spirited, which means they were indigenous. The fact that I wouldn't have heard about this if I didn't have Tumblr is absolutely revolting. News needs to be covering this. But what are Republicans doing? Aspec men deserve much more respect and recognition in the aspec community than they receive. They often face a different form of aphobia specific to them ("men are naturally sexual they can't be ace" "all men are unromantic that's not unique") this rhetoric is spouted by many, even members of our own community and I hope for a day where that is no longer the case. As an ace and demiro woman (demigirl but that's beside the point) I want to encourage folks to take the time to give the aspec men in their lives support and to the aspec men reading, you are who you say you are no matter what people say and you deserve the world. I know people are angry about predstrogen's ban right now- as they should be. But I really wish more people were talking about Nex Benedict's murder.

They were my age. Not even out of school. And they were murdered. Not "passed away" or "left us" murdered.

And I am so, so angry that this still happens. People will say our world is more accepting and that we don't need to fight anymore, when clearly we do! And I don't want to stop fighting until the world is a safe place for trans kids and trans elders.

So don't forget them. Their name was Nex Benedict.

As a queer and trans minor in a bad home situation, I and many others would be in so much danger if this bill is approved. Its actually so horrific. One of the senators who introduced it, Marsha Blackburn, said that "protecting minor children from the transgender in this culture" was a top priority.
