The Productivity Benefits Of Explosion-proof Light

In the high-stakes world of industrial production, effective lighting is not a luxury, but a necessity.
Adequate lighting can prevent accidents and injuries by ensuring workers can see what they're doing. This is particularly important in areas with heavy machinery and poor visibility, such as basements or warehouses.
Industrial lighting can also deter criminal activity by making it effortless for security personnel to see what's happening on the premises.
If you are a business owner or a facility manager, you need to evaluate the lighting in the workplace to make changes and upgrades as necessary to ensure that all areas are adequately illuminated.
Industrial Grade Lighting: Powering the Production Line
Industrial-grade lighting is a type of lighting that is specifically designed for use in industrial environments. These hazardous area lights are built to withstand the harsh conditions and demands of industrial settings, such as factories, warehouses, and other manufacturing facilities.
One of the main applications of industrial-grade lighting is in warehouses and distribution centers. These facilities often have high ceilings and large open spaces, making it difficult to provide adequate lighting. Industrial-grade lights, such as high-bay lights, are designed to provide bright and even illumination over large areas, making it easier for workers to see and move around the facility safely.
Another common application of industrial-grade lighting is in manufacturing facilities. These facilities often have various lighting needs, including task lighting for specific areas, such as assembly lines, and general lighting for the entire facility. Hazardous area lights are designed to withstand heat, vibration, and other conditions in manufacturing environments, making them well-suited for these facilities.
Industrial-grade lighting is also commonly used in mining, oil and gas, and other heavy-industrial facilities. These facilities typically have extreme temperatures and harsh environments and require lighting that can withstand these conditions.
Other Applications:
- Power Plants - Pharmaceutical plants - Food Processing plants - Marine and Offshore applications - Cold storage facilities - Refineries - Construction and heavy-duty equipment lighting - Outdoor industrial areas
In all of these applications, industrial-grade lighting is designed to provide a high level of durability and performance, which makes them ideal for use in industrial environments. They also often have a longer lifespan, which can save on maintenance costs in the long run.
Explosion-proof LED Lights: A Bright Solution for Hazardous Environments
Explosion-proof lights are a type of industrial-grade lighting specifically designed for use in environments with a risk of explosion or fire. These lights are built to prevent the ignition of explosive gasses or dust. They are commonly used in facilities such as oil and gas refineries, chemical plants, and coal mines.
One of the main benefits of explosion-proof lights is their ability to improve worker productivity. These lights provide bright and even illumination, which makes it easier for workers to see what they're doing, reducing the risk of mistakes and increasing the speed at which tasks can be completed.
Additionally, lighting provides a higher colour rendering index(CRI) which can result in better visual perception. This can be especially helpful in tasks that require detailed visual inspection, such as quality control.
Another essential benefit of explosion-proof lights is their energy efficiency. Compared to traditional incandescent or fluorescent lights, LED lights consume much less energy, which can help reduce costs associated with lighting. Furthermore, LED lights have a longer lifespan, which can reduce maintenance and replacement costs in the long run.
And explosion-proof lights are also more environmentally friendly than traditional lights. They emit less heat, which can reduce the overall energy consumption in a facility. They are built to be more durable and have a longer lifespan.
Explosion-proof lights also have a high level of durability and performance, which makes them ideal for use in industrial environments. They can withstand extreme temperatures and harsh environmental conditions, which helps to reduce downtime caused by equipment failure.
Overall, explosion-proof lights can provide significant productivity benefits by improving worker safety, efficiency, and visual quality in hazardous environments. These lights are a cost-effective and environmentally friendly solution that can help increase productivity and reduce costs in facilities with a risk of explosion or fire.

"Atta Girl."
Ellie x reader
Reader gets injured, Ellie gets protective.

---
The morning sun peeked through the heavy clouds over Jackson as you pulled on your jacket. Ellie sat on the edge of the bed, her leg bouncing anxiously. Her fingers fiddled with the loose thread on her flannel, and you could feel the tension radiating off her.
“You sure you have to go?” Ellie asked, her voice tight.
You stepped closer and rested your hands on her shoulders. “It’s just a patrol, Ellie. Jesse and I will be fine.”
She scoffed, shaking her head. “Yeah, ‘cause nothing ever goes wrong on patrols.”
You bent down, forcing her to meet your eyes. “I’ll be careful. I promise.”
Her hands gripped your wrists, holding you there for a moment longer. “I hate this. You’re too damn important to me to—” She stopped herself, letting out a frustrated sigh. “Just… don’t do anything stupid, okay?”
You smiled softly, brushing her bangs out of her face. “Stupid? Me? Never.”
Despite herself, she smirked, but the worry never left her eyes. She stood and pressed a quick kiss to your lips. “You better come back in one piece.”
---
The patrol started off quiet. Jesse was his usual easygoing self, cracking jokes as you both scanned the snowy woods for any signs of trouble.
“Ellie didn’t look too happy about this,” he commented as the two of you dismounted your horses to check a suspicious cabin.
“She worries,” you replied, shrugging. “It’s her thing.”
“Yeah, well, I’d worry too if my girl had to patrol with a guy as handsome as me.”
You rolled your eyes. “Oh, please. She knows you’re more into Dina than you are into this patrol.”
He laughed, holding up his hands in mock surrender. “You got me there.”
But the light mood didn’t last. As you exited the cabin, the sound of crunching snow caught your attention. Before you could fully turn around, a group of four armed strangers emerged from the treeline, surrounding you and Jesse.
“Well, well,” one of them sneered, a wiry man with a scar across his jaw. “What do we have here?”
Jesse’s hand twitched toward his pistol, but the man raised his rifle. “Ah, ah. Wouldn’t do that if I were you.”
They were after you. You could see it in the way their eyes lingered, their leering gazes making your skin crawl. When one of them lunged, Jesse acted fast, shoving you behind him and firing a shot. The bullet found its mark, dropping the man instantly.
Chaos erupted. Another one tackled Jesse while a third grabbed you, his filthy hand clamping around your throat.
“You’re coming with us,” he growled, dragging you back as you struggled. Your vision blurred from lack of air, but adrenaline surged through you. Kicking wildly, you managed to knock him off balance. His grip faltered, and as soon as you hit the ground, you grabbed your knife and drove it into his neck.
Blood sprayed as he collapsed, lifeless, and you gasped for air, your leg burning from a deep gash you hadn’t noticed in the fight. Jesse dispatched the last man and ran to your side, his eyes wide with panic.
“You okay?” he asked, hauling you to your feet.
“Yeah,” you lied, wincing as pain shot through your leg.
“Bullshit.” He glanced at your leg. “You’re bleeding bad.”
“No time,” you said, limping toward your horse. “We have to get back.”
---
By the time you and Jesse made it back to Jackson, the sun was setting, and the town was buzzing with activity. People swarmed around you, shouting questions, their worried faces blurring together.
And then Ellie appeared, pushing her way through the crowd. Her eyes locked on you, dark with fury and fear.
“What the hell happened?” she demanded, her voice shaking as she reached for you.
“I’m fine,” you tried to assure her, but your wobbling knees and blood-soaked pant leg said otherwise.
Ellie’s jaw clenched as she threw your arm over her shoulders. “Come on.”
She led you back to your shared home in silence. Once inside, she sat you down on the couch and grabbed the first aid kit. Her movements were quick and precise, but her lips were pressed into a thin line.
“Ellie—” you started.
“Don’t,” she interrupted, her voice low. “Don’t even try to explain right now.”
You watched her clean and stitch your wound, her hands trembling slightly. The air between you was thick with unspoken emotions.
When she finished, you broke the silence. “So, I guess you could say I showed that guy who’s boss.”
Ellie’s head snapped up, her lips twitching despite herself. “Atta girl,” she murmured, her tone softening.
You reached for her hand, pulling her to sit beside you. “Hey,” you said gently. “I’m here. I’m okay. Thanks to Jesse.”
Her eyes filled with tears as she buried her face in your lap. “I was so scared,” she whispered, her voice cracking. “What if you didn’t come back?”
You ran your fingers through her hair, your heart aching at the vulnerability in her voice. “But I did. I’m here.”
Ellie clung to you, her tears soaking into your jeans. You held her close, whispering reassurances until her breathing evened out.
The two of you stayed like that, wrapped in each other, finding comfort in the fact that, for now, you were safe and together.
Too cuteee💕 I take requests!

Words feel like… Part VI (Final)
iso x fem!reader
warnings: protagonist's death, resurrection, shooting, rahms.
18+ only
words: 2167
a/n: that's the end of the little story. I hope you enjoyed it <3
pt I pt II pt III pt IV pt V

The week of silence between you flowed smoothly into the next. You could hardly see him in the common rooms, and your chat was horribly empty. Not a single message from either him or you. The only sign of life from Iso was his appearance online from time to time. Sage invited you to come with her to the Viper lab. You were in one of the testing areas, but this time you were led somewhere deeper.
The thin corridor made you feel uneasy and uneasy, like you were being led into some kind of cell. And the closer you got to the wide door, the more the clouds thickened over you. Sage put some kind of card to the scanner, and then the automatic door unlocked. There were several rooms. And a perfect view of what was inside. In one of them lay some girl, hooked up to some machines. In another some strange mechanisms that you assumed Viper and Killjoy had developed together. In the center room where you were - Viper was standing and talking to Reyna about something. As you approached, you began to discern meaning in their phrases.
"Could this be the same thing that happened on Omega Earth? Radianite Plague,” - Viper said, folding her arms across her chest. - "Then it makes sense, then. If feeding on souls only sustains it, could the Radianite treatment methodology do anything to help the process?"
"I'm willing to go there again if I have to. We need information,” -Reyna's voice was irritated. - "We need to assemble a squad."
"Good,”- the girl's gaze went to you. - "Why are you here?"
"Just about the invasion of Omega Earth. Y/N will be in your squad,” - Sage nodded at you.
"And that's worth coming here for? This is an isolated area, Sage."
"I know it is. I had to get Reyna because preparations for the portal launch are almost complete. The quicker and more unexpectedly we pay a visit, the more effective the results will be. I told the others, too. They'll be waiting."
Reyna straightened up in a flash and, with a nod to Viper, headed for the exit. You followed her with a glance, then looked at Viper and the girl on the other side of the glass. The woman stood in front of you and gave you a stern look. You realized you shouldn't linger and hurried with Sage to the meeting place.
To your surprise, Iso was there. It seemed to you that he was deliberately not looking at you and avoiding all interaction. Standing nearby were Killjoy and Sova. The two seniors' experience in the mission told them it was going to be tough. Brimstone, Cypher, and Raze remained in support. To reopen the portal or come to the rescue in case of emergency.
Reyna was already dressed in her protective gear and standing with weapons in hand.
"Killjoy, you know what to do. We need information. The rest of us are backup. Time is short, so act quickly and carefully."
The building was gloomy. You quietly followed the others, glancing around every now and then. The many closed drawers made it feel like you were in a maze. Out of the corner of your eye, you notice Killjoy and Owl going off somewhere, apparently they know where the information might be stored, or at least have an idea. Reyna nods in your direction and you obediently walk in that direction with your weapon at the ready. You've had steady training with different agents all this week, so you've learned to control some of your abilities, and you've even gotten better at hitting targets. It's not perfect, but it's good enough for successful missions.
A red light blinked softly somewhere above you. You listened to the silence and heard only your own heartbeat. In an instant, you began to hear footsteps. It was someone outside. And he clearly wanted to make his presence known. A brief message from Iso came through your earpiece:
"Security is checking the area. Be careful."
You slowly emerge from your cover, surveying the semi-darkness.
"We have successfully infiltrated the system center. Looking for information."
"Copy that."
You look in the direction of the sounds and wait tensely. A silhouette smoothly reveals itself. Broad, clearly male. You take aim, ready to shoot if you need to. Before you can blink, the weapon falls out of your hands from the shot of the man in front of you.
"Shit,” - you hiss, trying to find another weapon.
Pulling out your gun, you aim again and fire at point-blank range. But the bullets meet the obstacle and fall to the floor. A purple glint in the darkness, makes you freeze. The red light starts flashing more actively and a nasty siren starts blaring through the building. You immediately dive into the maze of cubicles, haunted by the sounds of gunfire and footsteps.
"Y/N, situation. "- Reyna's voice booms in your ear.
"Omega Iso."
"Killjoy?"
"Data is downloading, it takes time."
The shot grazes your leg and you shriek, falling to the floor. Pain echoes throughout your leg, then throughout your body. Several more shots pierce your limbs. You bite your lip bloody enough not to give away your presence and crawl behind the crate. Your breathing can't be heard over the sounds of the alarms, but the footsteps and gunshots throughout the room are very audible. You try to get up, but a wave of pain pierces you again. You pull out of your pocket some sort of injection that Sage and Viper developed. With her powers, this injection gives you a temporary healing effect, which can help in missions where she isn't available.
A feeling of relief spreads through your body and you get up off the floor. You notice a silhouette nearby and immediately fire a few shots. This time the man falls, and then you start running towards where you all split up. It looks like it wasn't Omega Iso, but a simple guard, for the footsteps of pursuit continued. Suddenly something appeared in front of you. From the matter you realized it was their Omen. He immediately hooked his arm around your neck and lifted you above the ground. You dropped your weapon and began grabbing at his clawed arm with your hands, trying to free yourself. The stress of the situation caused you to activate your abilities and it played to your advantage. You immediately teleported away. The internal vibrations of Omen's abilities confused you again. You'd have to train with him more to get used to the sensation. There was no pain, surprisingly. Apparently that's the effect of the injection.
You form a blob of blinding shadow and send it towards the place where the two agents from the planet Omega were, then touch the earpiece and say in Omen's voice:
"How's it going?"
"Almost done. Run to the rendezvous point."
"Copy that."
You start running toward the place that flashed the most red. That's where you came from. Apparently you've already sent a message to Alpha land. You were almost there when you suddenly notice purple patterns on the floor. You look at the floor then at Iso running past you. In his eyes you notice a glint of some sort.
"Y/N"! - he shouts, but his shout is cut short as you find yourself in Iso's omega space.
Your powers automatically keyed off and all you could do was shoot.
Oh, crap.
Iso's a good shot. Any version of him. You're screwed.
The purple walls fall away and you find yourself one-on-one with him. He fires a few shots before he stops and looks at you. Several bullets hit you in the stomach, causing you to clutch at it with your hands. Blood came up to your throat. You coughed and looked up at him. He hesitated for a moment, but immediately fired a couple of final shots into your head.
"I'm sorry,”- was the last thing you heard before you were plunged into oblivion.
A sharp jolt of pain makes you open your eyes. Tingles in your head and some other parts of your body bring you back to consciousness. Sage is sitting next to you, holding a few of her crystals. As soon as you open your eyes, she stops working.
"How do you feel?"
"It hurts,” - you squeak as another wave of pain hits your body.
"The first time is always like that,” - Sage nods. - "The next time you come back to life, it won't hurt as much. But it would be better if there were no next time."
"I died?"
"Yes. But you're alive and well now."
Your gaze slides across the room. You seem to have been treated in your own room. You notice the broad figure of Iso in your chair. He was sitting with his eyes closed. Most likely dozing.
"Rest,” - Sage said a little louder, obviously to wake Iso. But he didn't move. - "When he wakes up, let him come to me."
"Okay."
As soon as Sage disappeared on the other side of the door, Iso opened his eyes. You stared at him with incomprehension. A dissonance was building in your mind. He'd been keeping his distance and avoiding you, and here he was sitting in your room, blatantly ignoring Sage's hint. Although maybe he was worried that you were dead. It's not every day your ally dies on the battlefield.
"Why didn't you leave? "- You ask, pulling yourself up. Your body still ached.
"Should I? "- He answered a question with a question.
You didn't know what to say. You didn't want him to leave. It was easier and calmer to be with him, but at the same time, you felt resentful of him, of what had happened over the last week. So you lay back down, leaving the question unanswered. You covered your eyes and heard a chair creak and footsteps heading for the door. More than anything, you didn't want to be alone right now.
"Don't go,” - you whisper.
"I wasn't going to,” - you open your eyes and see him leave his shoes at the door, then walk toward you and sit on the bed. It sags under his weight, and you roll a little toward him. You cover yourself with the blanket in embarrassment. He heard.
The blanket slides off your head and you look innocently at Iso. The man looks at you with a slight smile. His violet eyes look so beautiful and bright, it takes your breath away. The guy lets out a small chuckle, after which his hand rests on your cheek.
"This is why I didn't want to see you. I'm drowning in your eyes like a swamp, and I'm afraid I won't get out of these feelings,”- Iso's sudden confession confused you even more.
You opened your mouth to say something, but your thoughts traitorously tangled into a huge deep. Yes, you liked Iso, but you didn't think anything serious could come out of it. Relationships aren't welcome in the service after all. Self-deception, avoiding thoughts and all that. You've tried everything and you're almost there, but all these events are only driving you deeper into the maelstrom. You very much want to fall into this hurricane of not only passion, but already romance.
"Are you just gonna keep quiet? Y/N? "- Iso is leaning over you. -" Am I being rejected?"
He laughed. He knew.
"Keep drowning,” - you said, and then pulled the boy into a kiss.
The gentle touch of his lips made you forget about the pain and worry. Just because you both have a weakness now doesn't make you the best agents in the protocol, but since Raze and Killjoy could do it, why can't you? Iso hovers over you as he continues to kiss you, then slowly pulls back and dusts your face with kisses. You smile, after which you hug the Chinese man tightly.
"How long has it been? "- you start your question as soon as the guy lies down next to you.
"As soon as you came to the protocol,” - he played with your hair. One of his ears was missing an earpiece. - "When we met eyes in my ears some romantic song was playing in my ears and I just… Fell in love with your eyes. It's corny, but no one can control their own feelings. I thought it would go away, but after that party… You know."
"You didn't have to do that, did you?"
"I could have,” - he nodded, -”but why miss the chance? Anyway, I'm not meant to build a family with ordinary people."
"You mean you want to build a family with me?" - You're stunned.
"Anything's possible in the future."
"Oh, why did Sage call you? Are you hurt? "- You changed the subject.
"No. She's just busting me for exposing our relationship a little."
"A little? You did what?"
"Another time,"- he kissed your cheek. His phone vibrated. - "Mrs. Healer is very unhappy and demands me to her office."

"Anything from Crown City, Chase?"
"Negative. The signal's not even going through."
"Well, that's not a good sign..."
..........................................
"Huh... huh... Hang in there, Sideswipe...! Just hang in there...!"
Bumblebee had carried many a bot off of the battlefield and into a safer location for the medic to tend to, but this time, there was no medic, and the bot in his arms was no soldier. He was just a kid, a kid that had no business being in the condition he was in right now.
The attack had happened quickly— rifle fire raining down from the cliffs above and onto the lieutenant and his team. The humans had gotten away, as did Strongarm, Fixit, and Grimlock, but in the midst of the two final team members making a run for the groundbridge, a shot from their enemy sent a cataclysmic failure that led to the portal exploding.
Bumblebee had been flung into the cliff, and with a stray shot having disabled his comm link, he couldn't call for Sideswipe to locate him amongst the collapsing stacks of vintage collectibles that made up the scrapyard. By the time he found the young autobot, Sideswipe's frame was spotted with blast marks and his lower half was partially crushed under a fallen crane arm.
Bumblebee had hauled him from the wreckage and managed to break free of the Scrapyard's walls, but he couldn't race down the road with Sideswipe like this. He'd need to find somewhere to hide until their attackers stopped their rain of death and weren't looking for a yellow and red bot escaping down the road... If Sideswipe was even in the condition to travel by then.
Fortunately, Bumblebee was a war veteran, and he'd learned a few tricks— both from his own experiences and that of his comrades.
Tip number one, save the special toys for emergencies.
The cliffs held some small caverns under them, the exit typically inaccessible by bots or humans, but not if you had a Phase-Shifter stuffed in your subspace for such a time.
He carried the young bot into these caverns, ducking under low ceilings and feeling the squeeze of the tight tunnels, but it would be enough for a little while until it was safe.
"Buh...Bee..."
Sideswipe's voice crackled in his throat, his audio receptor twitching just a bit but really being the only thing moving.
"Just take it easy, Sideswipe... Just take it easy..."
Bumblebee's lights were the only thing lighting up the cavern, but for now, they would rest... Strongarm would be panicking, probably trying to come back to the Scrapyard to search for them.
"Bee... You... Thank you..."
"Shh..." Bumblebee soothed like a parent trying to comfort their child, "...Just get some rest, okay? I'll keep watch..."
What he wouldn't give for Blades' medical expertise right now...

Corn Maze - Jack Hughes ft Friends (TZ, CC, JD & AT)
It was a crisp autumn afternoon when Jack Hughes and his friends found themselves standing at the entrance of Smith’s Pumpkin Patch and Corn Maze. The sun beamed down lazily, casting long shadows as they eyed the towering stalks of corn that loomed before them.
Jack, ever the instigator, grinned widely. “Alright, team! First one to the end of the maze buys dinner!”
Trevor Zegras, leaning back casually with his arms crossed, chuckled. “You say that like any of us will want to pay you after we find our way out. Let’s see who’s best at getting lost!”
Dani, Jack’s girlfriend, rolled her eyes playfully. “How about we focus on teamwork instead of making this a competition? We’ll never hear the end of it if one of you loses, anyway.”
Cole Caufield, who had been squinting at the map in his hands, suddenly interjected, “Come on, guys. Let’s just follow my lead and we’ll be out in no time.” He tilted the map and pointed dramatically toward the maze. “This way!”
As they ventured deeper into the maze, laughter echoed in the air. Jamie Drysdale and Alex Turcotte were deep in conversation, debating over who could pull off the best corn-themed Halloween costume. Jamie waved his arms animatedly, “Trust me, a cornstalk costume would be iconic! I could even add a few LED lights.”
“Or you could be a scarecrow,” Alex shot back, trying to contain his laughter. “That way you wouldn’t scare anyone away—just look like an overgrown kid.”
Meanwhile, Jack and Dani walked slightly behind the group, sharing whispered jokes while keeping an eye on their friends. The golden light filtered through the leaves, making Dani’s hair shimmer as she smiled up at Jack. “This is nice,” she said, her voice soft. “Just spending time with everyone.”
“Right?” Jack replied, his eyes sparkling. “We should do this more often.” Just as he said that, the group’s banter grew louder as they turned a corner.
Suddenly, Trevor let out an exasperated grunt. “I thought we’d been this way before!” The other boys looked around, realizing they were faced with the same fork in the path for the third time.
Cole sighed dramatically. “Anyone got a compass? This is worse than that time we got lost at the fair.”
“Alright, alright,” Jack smirked, taking charge. “Let’s split up. Dani and I will go this way.” He pointed down a narrow path. “You guys go that way. Whoever finds the exit first comes back for the rest.”
“Brilliant idea, Hughes!” Trevor smirked. “See you losers later!”
With quick waves and persuasive “no cheating!” remarks, the group went their separate ways. Jack and Dani walked hand-in-hand through the maze, laughing while occasionally stopping to admire the vibrant corn husks framing their path.
“Think they’ll really find the way out?” Dani asked, peering over her shoulder.
Jack shrugged. “With Trevor leading? It could go either way! Just look for the sound of yelling.”
The pair continued meandering through the intricate twists and turns, enjoying the peace that the maze offered. A few wrong turns, a couple of close calls with scarecrows, and a few well-placed selfies later, they finally stumbled upon an actual sign pointing to the exit.
“Guess we win!” Jack exclaimed, exuberant like a kid on Christmas morning.
But just as they began to think they had an easy route out, Trevor’s voice echoed from behind, “Jack! Dani! We’re lost again!”
“Seriously?” Dani laughed. “We’ve been wandering around longer than I’d like to admit!”
Jack leaned against a cornstalk, laughing harder than he’d intended. “I’m starting to believe the fans when they say you and me are the parents in this group.”
Finally, after what felt like hours filled with laughs, misplaced directions, and the occasional discovery of a hidden snack stand, the whole crew found their way to the exit. They emerged into the fading sunlight, faces flushed and exhilarated.
“I love this!” Jamie said, taking a deep breath. “Let’s do this again next year, but you guys better bring your A-game next time.”
As they all chimed in with agreement, Jack felt a warmth blossom in his chest. Moments like this—with friends, laughter, and Dani beside him—were what life was all about. Content, he watched the sun dip below the horizon, the world surrounding them painted in hues of orange and gold, and knew this was just the beginning of many more adventures.

Prey - a Wolfwren fanfiction
A/N: Hello everyone! How are you on this first day of @wolfwrenweek ? Here is my story for the first day, "The Moon" following as many of the prompts as I could fit! It's a Vampire smut so I hope you'll enjoy it! Here's the beginning of the story and if you want to read all of it the link will be at the end!
The dancefloor was packed with people. Despite the loud music blaring from every speaker, Sabine could hear each of their heartbeats, like a base that never dropped. She could taste the air, a combination of sweet alcohol and sweat that whetted her appetite. She’d never come to this club before, but Ezra had convinced her to journey specifically to this part of town to try it out. He’d said the music was good and the alcohol better. She didn’t care about alcohol, and so far, the music had been alright. What interested her more where the girls, and which one would be her next meal.
She had lost sight of Ezra in the crowd. No doubt he was dancing with someone. She ought to mingle too, she thought as she left her stool, leaving an untouched glass of club soda behind. As the new song began, she pressed her way into the crowd.
Some vampires hated crowded places. They said it was like tempting the devil. Sabine thought they just had weak resolve. She loved it. She enjoyed the anonymity of the crowd, pressed between other bodies, in the dark. Between the lights flashing above, the heat of everyone pressed together on the dancefloor, and the pounding of their heartbeats, so close to her, this was the appetizer, the perfect tease before a perfect meal.
Sabine tried to find a woman to dance with. She moved, step by step, around the crowd until she spotted someone that was interested in her. She was almost in the middle of the dancefloor when she felt eyes on her. It sent a shiver down her spine. Only one kind of person could cause such a response from her. She stopped dancing and turned.
She had migrated near the VIP booths, lavish velvet couches set on a raised platform on one side of the club. Now one woman was observing her from the booths. Not just observing her, glaring at her with cold, shining blue eyes. She had shoulder-length platinum hair and her glare was only intensified by black eyeshadow smeared all around her eyes.
“Shit,” Sabine muttered to herself.
There was no time to find Ezra. She would text him later. She had to get out now.
She pushed her way through the crowd and off the dancefloor. She was on the other side of the entrance, but she saw a green sign shining in a corner, indicating an emergency exit. This was an emergency. She ran past the handful of tables on the side and followed the wall into a short corridor. It led to the bathrooms and the emergency exit. She expected it to be locked, but the door opened with ease. She stumbled outside into the summer air. It was barely any cooler than the inside of the club. A blanket of heat had fallen over the city two days ago and nothing could move it since. Sabine brushed the sweat off her face and turned around, shutting the club door with a sigh of relief.
She found herself in an alley. The club’s wall behind her was made up of bricks plastered with band and festival posters. Across was the side of a store, and the bricks had been painted with a thick layer of white. A couple was making out pressed against the white bricks. As soon as they noticed Sabine standing near them, they pulled apart.
“The fuck, dude?” the man groaned at her.
Sabine didn’t even spare them a glance. She looked on either side of the alley. One side led to a bunch of dumpsters. The other shone orange with the light of a nearby streetlight. That was the direction the offended couple took, hand in hand, as they intended to continue their nastiness elsewhere. Sabine decided also to rejoin civilization. She was bound to find a taxi nearby.
“Going somewhere?”

Destinytober24: Day 21 - Ensnare
Further adventures in bog slug ownership.
Link to Ao3 if you prefer to read it there
Eris Morn frowned as she stepped into the Gambit ready room on the Derelict.
It was quiet. The Derelict was never quiet. It was also dark.
She scanned her surroundings, her stolen Hive eyes giving her an advantage in the dark few other humans had, although they also could just as easily give away her position.
The floor was littered with small items. Shell casings. Eris picked one up and examined it. Unspent. A nearby ammunition crate lay on its side.
The Drifter's ship was cluttered with an excess of items ranging from the practical to the bizarre. And he frequently left them in heaps positioned in ways Eris found highly chaotic and ill-kept. But he always kept the Gambit ready room clear. And it was unlike him to have ammunition rolling about on the floor. He would have responded to such a mishap with a groan and taken immediate action to rectify the situation. For such a mess to be left in-place, he would have either not known about it, or been otherwise occupied.
The Drifter's ghost was also not present. Another unusual occurrence, albeit only for Eris. Normally the little light would have found her by now to guide her to its chosen. The Drifter did not like for anyone to see his ghost, but Eris was a unique exception and his ghost was inordinately fond of her. Its absence, combined with the silence from the ship's engines and the loose ammunition scattered around the floor filled Eris with concern.
She approached the exit with caution. The doors into and out of the Gambit ready room remained perpetually closed and locked at all times. All doors within the Drifter's ship were keyed to his biometrics, the particular light resonance pattern of his ghost, and, more recently, the biometric data of Eris Morn as well.
The door did not slide open at her approach, but it did unlock. Emergency power was functional, at least.
The well-oiled hinges made no sound and Eris stepped through the doorway into a completely unlit hall. The light from her orb and her eyes bathed everything in a sickly green glow. She paused at an intersection and looked into the rooms on either side.
The storage room on her right looked ransacked. Many items normally stacked on the shelving along three of the room's four walls had toppled down in heaps. A sack of flour had fallen and split, spilling white powder in a large spray across the metal floor. Long, snake-like trails through the flour led out of the room across the hall to the Drifter's garden. They reminded Eris of the tendrils from a Taken Primeval, the one the Drifter called "the Meatball."
But it was the inside of the garden through the other door which caused Eris' Ahamkara bone to frost over. She drew her hand cannon. Several of the plant frames had been smashed. A stray cucumber had rolled along the floor. A strawberry plant was trampled, its fruit leaving sticky red splotches among crushed leaves.
This was not a situation where an explosion from his workshop or the Drifter's sometimes questionable piloting decisions were at fault. Eris was looking upon signs of a struggle.
Cautious, ready to defend herself, Eris stalked silently down the hallway and into the Galley at the centre of the ship. Several pots and pans were on the ground. A plate had been smashed. Cupboard doors hung open as though something or someone had grasped them in a frantic search. The Drifter's metal coffee pot lay on its side, its dark liquid looking like blood in the light from her eyes .
As she slunk through the Galley, Eris heard the clang of metal on metal up ahead of her and the sound of something falling. Someone was moving nearby. Possibly even in the next room. The three-eyed former god of Vengeance pressed herself against the wall next to the door leading out into the rest of the ship, her weapons ready. The sound came again. Closer.
She waited.
The Drifter's ghost emitted its single tone in a long beep as it flew past her along the middle of the hallway at waist height. Behind it Eris heard a frantic scrambling, as though something were chasing it.
Eris stepped out into the doorway with a snarl, her frozen sphere hovering ready in one hand, her finger on the trigger of Loud Lullaby in the other, ready to defend the Drifter's ghost with extreme violence.
A very long, brown, many-legged blur flowed around a corner, up one wall, and along the ceiling over her head, chasing after the drone.
Eris lowered her weapon and turned to watch as the Bog Slug's considerable length flowed past her in pursuit of the Drifter's ghost. She watched it coil itself on top of the Drifter's kitchen table and spring across to the other side of the Galley, its many legs quivering in the air as it soared at shoulder height to pounce upon the Drifter's ghost as it hovered, blinking and twitching on the other side of the room.
The Bog Slug caught the misshapen drone in its jaws and landed with a clatter among the pots and pans scattered on the floor, twisting in on itself until it was a messy knot of worm segments and legs.
"Udon!" Eris called out sharply.
The writhing worm-knot became still. Slowly, the single eye of the Bog Slug rose from the coils of its body, gently holding the Drifter's twitching ghost ensnared within its mandibles.
"What are you doing?" Eris asked it.
It stopped moving again, its three-horned head at waist height. Watching her. It remained completely still for another moment, staring, before opening its pincers to release the ghost. The ghost, in turn, fell a few inches in the air and then levitated itself next to the Bog Slug's head.
Both the enormous many-legged worm and the ghost managed to look contrite and ashamed, despite neither one having much in the way of facial features to do so.
Eris' eyes narrowed as she looked around. "Is all this destruction… caused by the two of you?"
The poorly welded lopsided shell of the Drifter's ghost visibly drooped. It emitted its tone again, almost solemnly while blinking from red to blue to red again, turning its single electronic eye away from Eris slightly, as though it were unable to look her in all three of her eyes.
The Bog Slug also was unable to make eye contact. It trembled, unused to hearing reproach in Eris' voice. It drooped and slunk back down to the floor before skittering across the Galley toward Eris. As it reached her feet it began coiling itself around her legs, climbing her in a spiral of segments and chitin.
"No. Down," she commanded.
The Bog Slug pulled away from her and scurried into a dark corner of the Galley where it gave a contrite and mournful trill.
Eris turned back to the ghost. "Where is he?" she demanded.
Eris followed the Drifter's remorseful ghost into the Engine room where the Drifter was on his back with the front half of him partially inside of a maintenance hatch.
The ghost emitted its single tone as they approached.
"I told you to keep him busy while I'm workin'. The fuck you doing back here again?" he said, his voice echoing against the metal walls around him, making him sound simultaneously both louder and farther away.
"He was bringing me," Eris intoned.
"What? Eris?" There was a loud clang and the sound of something heavy falling. "Fuck!"
The Drifter slid on his back out from the hatch and looked up at her, blinking. His head was tilted to the side where he had a flashlight pinned between his ear and his shoulder. There was something black and oily on his face and in his beard. His shirt was torn and partially burnt. Wrenches of several sizes lay across his chest.
"What you doin' here, Moondust? I thought you were gone for a week."
"I was," she intoned.
"You get back early?"
"No."
"No?" he looked up at her, confused.
"No," she said, firmly.
He blinked. "What day is it?" He began gathering his tools off of himself.
"It is Wednesday."
"Wednesday? Shit. I was supposed to meet ya on the Moon."
"You were."
"I'm sorry. I've been fightin' this thing so long I lost track of time."
"Clearly." The frost left her orb and Eris heaved a deep sigh.
He looked over as the lingering Stasis crystals made small crackling noises as they dissipated from the sphere.
"You fighting something?"
"I thought I might have to. Your ship looks like a combat zone."
"Ha! Wait… more than usual?"
"Yes."
"What?"
The Drifter's ghost emitted its tone again. Somehow, despite having only one sound it could make, it managed to sound contrite.
"The fuck did you do?" he pointed at the drone with a crescent wrench. "I told you to watch him!"
"I believe they have been… playing tag… or perhaps fetch… It was difficult to determine."
"Really?"
"Yes," Eris crouched down near him and took the flashlight from where he had it pinned against his neck. "Vigorously."
The Drifter's grin widened. "That's… awesome! That's real cute."
"You may find it less 'awesome' when you witness the state of your garden."
"My garden!"
The Drifter's ghost looked away from both of them and emitted its tone again.
"Ok well… that's sub-optimal."
"Indeed. Hopefully you did not have any grand plans for your strawberries."
"Seriously? They were just gettin' ripe!"
Eris helped him to his feet and they ventured out into the ship together to survey the consequences of unrestrained playtime.

Might do some with this later, but for now I just need it out of my head:
**general plot idea is that Cloud was taken as a subject for testing, because they thought he was forgettable. Zack noticed, but after years of searching they only find him when they’re instructed to aid the R&D department with an escaped sample.
Warning for: blood and gore, also Hojo death, though that’s not likely “upsetting” to anyone**
By the time they got to the lab the place is a massacre sight. Bodies strewn from one end of the burning room to the other; blood decorating the walls like some kind of perverse paint job. Angeal covered his nose and mouth against the smell of burned flesh; the scent nauseating in the extreme.
Next to him Sephiroth lowered Masumune slightly, coming out of battle stance. There was no need for it here, any threat they could have eliminated had been taken care of. Angeal wondered about the mess they would find further in and swallowed against another wave of nausea.
“He cannot have done this himself,” Seph muttered, toeing a body over to find that the hole in the bodies chest was more than an exit wound. Somebody had put their whole fist through the persons chest.
Genesis sheathed his blade and came to stand by the general.
“All evidence to the contrary,” he said and crouched to check another body for a pulse. Nothing. They were all dead it seemed.
A whimper of distress sounded behind Angeal and the man turned to look at Zack. The boy had brought up the rear, making him the last to witness the mess. He wondered if he should have kept him out of the room for this.
Zack stumbled forward a little at the sight, clapping his hands over his mouth more in shock than repulsion. There was no doubt repulsion was there, but the shock won out every time.
He shouldn’t be strong enough to do this, he thought. I’ve trained him. I’ve fought him. He… he couldn’t.
“What did they do to him?” He says out loud.
Genesis stands back up, and crosses to him. He places a hand on Zack’s hip and kisses his temple.
“We’ll find him pup,” he murmurs into Zacks hair. “I promise,”
“The question is, how exactly will we find him?” Sephiroth surveyed the area, looking for doors, openings, anything to indicate where the blonde had gone. “If I were to make an educated guess, I’d say he’s stronger than all of us. He will not be easily subdued.”
Zack flinched. “We can’t kill him!” He cried, “Seph please he’s probably terrified, he do-“
Angeal cut him off with a raise of his hand.
“We are not suggesting that Zack, Seph only meant it may be hard for him to realise he can trust us. We may need to knock him out.” He placed a hand at Zack’s back, placing a little pressure to get him moving.
Genesis took his hand too. It warmed Angeal to know that his lovers were finally finding their ground, even if it was in the wake of tragedy and terror.
Sephiroth led the way through the bodies to the large garage door at the end of the room. The buttons were tacky with blood. Sephiroth hoped for all their sakes it was a sign that they were on the right track.
Past the door lay a long hallway and a single trail of blood along the floor. He was hurt. They needed to hurry.
The emergency lights above them cast an eerie red haze in front of them, making the trail look almost black in the odd light. There little sound coming from in front or behind them, but Angeal suspected they would not be able to hear much anyway bast the blare of the intruder siren.
As they crept along the passage, they saw more and more clear signs that the person they were looking for had been here. Sticky red hand prints and broken boxes and carts littered their path. It was clear that he was growing panicked, frustrated even. But why had he turned from the exit? He had been so close, why turn back after you were basically home free?
The answer it seemed came when they came to the next set of doors.
“Beyond here is the stasis lab. It is where professor Hojo keeps his more… violent subjects.” Sephiroth placed his hand on the release lever.
“Lover,” Genesis whispered, “remind me to kill that vermin if we do not find him dead already.” Sephiroth huffed a humourless laugh.
“Duly noted.”
Seph pulled on the lever and the door went up. Angeal wished it had stayed shut.
In front of them was a scene worse than the one they had left behind. More blood than he thought it possible to be contained in the human body washed the floor like a tidal wave had sped through here; bodies were not just strewn, they were hung and dismembered. Some hanging from wires, some their clothes. All looking like there was not a fight they could put up that would have saved them.
And in the middle of it all…
Hojo.
He’d been strung up like he was crucified. A martyr. A criminal. The bringer of a new age.
Whoever had done this had clearly thought the irony amusing. Angeal shuddered.
“Do we cut him down?” Zack whispered, barely audible against the incessant wailing of the alarm.
Angeal turned to Sephiroth. The mans eyes were locked on the scene before him. Taking a step forward, he lay a hand on the generals back.
“Seph,” he said it like a question. It didn’t just mean are you alright, it meant it is your call, he is your tormentor, your father. Sephiroth took a deep breath.
“Leave him,” he croaked. “Why show honour to a man who did not afford others the same courtesy?” And with that he he looks away and kept walking.
The next room was not so horrific. A few monster remains, a few guns without owners. But nothing on the level of before. The further they got, the more distant the alarms became, until eventually they were nothing more than static.
Room upon room of medical chairs and equipment. Terminals with cracked screens and notebooks splattered with traces of blood.
The drag marks on the floor told them that he had dragged the bodies into that room. He had displayed them, proudly. Or was it a warning? Come closer and this is your fate, come closer and I will show no mercy…
We’re they really rescuing him at this point? What would they find further in? Angeal worried he would have to brake his promise to Zack and he could see from the grim set of his mouth that Genesis feared it too.
Again they traversed the hallways, again they found much of the same, until they came to the main stasis room.
Inside sat a large holding tank filled with Mako water. It gurgled away quietly into the silence of the room. Inside it floated what Angeal could only really describe as a large cat/dog looking thing. A flame was lit, inexplicably, at the end of its tail as if it were not submerged.
Yet it was the body in front of the tank that interested them the most.
He was slender, lean, and small. His vertebrae clearly defined without a curve to his back as he sat with his butt between his folded legs, like he’d crumpled rather than sat. He was covered in blood, but they’d expected that. Shaking slightly from the cold, as he sat in nothing but his underwear and panting from clear physical exhaustion.
Angeal watched cautiously as Zack let go of Genesis’s hand and crept forward. He poised himself to spring out and grab him if if the body were to attack. Next to him Genesis and Sephiroth readied their weapons.
Zack threw out a hand to stay them.
“Cloud?” He called softly. “Cloudy? It’s me, it’s Zack…”
No response. Not even a flinch at his name.
“It’s okay sunshine, we’re not here to hurt you. We just want to take you home.”
Nothing.
Zack crept forward, all but having to date himself to reach out and touch Clouds shoulder.
“Zack,” Angeal warned, and pulled buster off of his shoulder, ready for a fight.
Except Cloud only reached up to place a hand on the tank, leaving a tacky red mark on the glass.
“Get him out,” he whispered. Zack barely heard him.
“Cloud did you hear me?” He asked, not sure what Cloud would want with what was clearly one of Hojos pet projects.
“Get him out,” he said louder and Zack flinched at the change. “He’s just a kid, let him out! Let him out!”
Cloud was yelling now, banging on the glass, clawing at the seals futilely trying to get in at the thing.
Zack looks wildly back at them, springing them into action. Genesis and Sephiroth moved to the control panels, while Angeal replaced buster at his back and got ready to pull back the pressure seal.
“Levels steady, proceed with draining.” Gen commanded.
“Draining commenced, stand ready Angeal.” Sephiroth ordered. “Zack go and grab some sheets. Anything we can use to soak up the Mako.”
Zack hesitated, looking desperately between his lovers, Cloud and the tank. What was going on?
“Zack,” Seph snapped. “We will stay with Cloud, do as I’ve ordered.”
This gets him moving and Angeal returns his attention back to readying at the door. As the last of the Mako drains away, the sound of the airlock releasing hisses into the air.
“Now Angeal,” Genesis nods at him slightly, eyes still on the creatures vitals.
Angeal pulls. The door begins to roll open slowly, inch by inch.
On the floor Cloud has moved, clawing his way into the tank, getting toxic Mako directly on his skin, burning himself. But he doesn’t seem to care. He puts all his efforts into dragging the creature out, whispering a string of shhh I’ve got you’s and I’m sorry I came as fast as I could’s
Zack came bustling back into the room ladened with curtains and bed sheets from the medical wing next door. He collapsed next to Cloud quickly as the others crouched by them too.
Genesis grabbed a sheet and cast it over the lion like body. He began rubbing it against the fur roughly, soaking up the Mako as best he could. Angeal and Sephiroth moved to rub down his legs and mane.
“What is it?” Zack asked slightly stunned as he moved to wrap one of the bed sheets over Cloud who was petting at the things muzzle and whispering encouragement to wake up. He casts a hazy look at them all and it’s clear that everything that lay behind them was only half clouds conscious doing. Zack doubts he remembers his own name.
“He is is just a kid.” Cloud slurs somewhat, “and his name is Nanaki”
Zack holds up his hands in defence, “sorry, sorry. It’s just… how did you know he was here?” He leans forward to get a good look at Nanaki’s face.
“Gaia told me.” That pulled them all up short.
“What?” Genesis asked, leaning back to look at Zack’s friend.
“I can’t explain it,” Cloud slumped slightly and Angeal watched Zack hurry to support him. “I heard her in my dreams, when Hojo put me to sleep. She told me how to find him. She showed me his dreams.”
They all stared at him curiously. They were glad he was safe; that he was alive. But hearing the Goddess? What if Hojo had broken him irreversibly.
Cloud slumped further into Zack.
“I’m not- I’m n-not Lyin-“
He passed out.

"Meravas: Asala" P1
An encounter with a scavenger, near the northern docks of Lake Calenhad, reveals the first solid lead in the exhausted search for Sten’s lost sword. Rejuvenated hope clashes with new anguish in him– finding Asala means his honor will be restored and he will be able to return to Seheron, but he will be obligated to leave everything he had grown to love in Ferelden… including his Kadan. It will be a bittersweet reunion. ~*~
It was two hours past the last breath of daylight when the search for Brother Genitivi led the Wardens and their companions to the northern docks of Lake Calenhad. Its serene, delicate air was broken by a battle cry when they had exited the inn, minutes after being warned by the innkeeper that asking around about Genitivi could get them killed. The scents of gutted fish and lake greenery were quickly overpowered by that of smoldering flesh and leather when Morrigan called forth chains of lightning to strike a considerable number of cutthroats that ambushed them.
Aithne was always pleased when she and her comrades could emerge from a battle without sustaining major injuries, but had wished they could have kept at least one assailant alive to press them for the answers that the innkeeper could not give, in addition to their reason for attacking. It forced them to conduct the grueling task of searching the bodies for anything that might hint at where they should search for him next, hoping that none of it had been damaged during the battle.
“Morrigan! What spell did you throw at these guys??” Aithne shot out. A line of bodies had led her up the steep slope and to a pile of skeletal remains, tented by dense shrubbery and pine branches.
Morrigan hurried over to Aithne and joined her inspection of the gruesome heap. “I didn’t do that ,” she said, wincing in disgust at the sight and smell of them. “These poor sods were dead before we got here… long before.”
There appeared to be seven of them altogether, all male and well over six feet tall, with only tattered ligaments of leather greaves and gauntlets dangling from bones, consumed and stained by an accumulation of weeds that grew around the shallow areas of the lake. “Horns!” Cousland noted, when she came across the only body that still had its head attached to it. “I think they’re qunari!”
Hearing this had jarred Sten, but he kept himself well composed. His approach to the remains was calm and dignified, showing no signs of the alarms echoing through his body from his head. There was no mistake about their race– all of the skulls had a humanoid appearance, but their canine teeth were sharper than common man’s, and there were two sets of horns on either side of the cranial area. That doesn’t mean that they are my brothers, he thought. They could be Tal-Vashoth mercenaries– they frequent this area .
Alistair, whom had scaled the slope just then to have a look for himself, inched the torch in his hand forward to broaden the reach of its light, which revealed details that were not so easy to see in the black shadows. More horned skulls could be seen, scattered around the area with other dismembered pieces, and– seeing the distinguishing features of the horns– Sten knew they were the rest of the Beresaad with absolute certainty. “Yes,” he confirmed. “They are qunari.”
Their corpses were not supposed to mean anything to Sten… but they did. Aithne could tell, seeing the unblinking stare of hardened eyes filling up with a mixture of distant memories– the pleasant and the horrifying. He seemed completely unaware that his dormant anger and terror was visible until Aithne’s voice snapped him out of his hot, red trance when she asked him in a soft and sympathetic manner “They are your brothers… aren’t they?”
“Yes,” is all Sten said, clear and unbroken by the mournful howling inside.
“Back off!! I was’ere first!! ” blasted a male voice, as a human figure leapt out at them from blackened bushes. It startled them all back several steps– Alistair almost fell onto his backside tripping over a loose root.
Sten instinctively drew the red steel broadsword and stepped in front of Cousland. “You would be wise to not take a step closer, human!” he growled with intense viciousness. What a fine display of self-discipline it was, not allowing his current state of mind to become a slave of instinctual responses. But even when torch light had revealed the man to be just a ragged, wrung-out, harmless-looking old man, he did not lower his sword. “And explain to us right now what your business is with these bodies!” Aithne added.
“Aw, these blokes ‘ere?” asked the man. “I did not off ‘em and I don’t know who or what did tha– large animals I’d guess, by the looks of ‘em. I just got’ere to take my claim.”
“Take your claim? ” Aithne grunted.
“There was a guy ‘ere before me that sold me this spot–said he’d found giants and all kinds of crazy valuables. But he didn’t mention that he’d taken everything but the bones and the dirt already!” Giving the pile of remains a frustrated kick sent one of the skulls flying up into the air. It landed on a steep grassy incline a short distance from where the group stood, then rolled down the slope until it was stopped by the side of Sten’s left leg. To everyone’s surprise, there was very little reaction from the qunari. Truly, he was boiling over inside, but he kept himself together and just glared bitterly at the one that had severely disrespected one of his closest friends. The scavenger desisted fuming when he saw murder burning in Sten’s eyes. Fearing for his life, he backed several inches away from the qunari, and looked like he was readying himself to flee for his life.

𝐖𝐇𝐄𝐑𝐄: Highland Hospital
Mercer first contemplated the beams of fluorescents when she came to, squinting under the harsh light as the scent of antiseptic chemicals wafted past her signalling that she was in fact in the emergency room, strewn out across a bed with a thin curtain concealing her privacy ─ lovely. The last thing she could recall was a fly fishing expedition in the Chesapeake Bay (more of a business trip), and then her mother picking her up from the train station, despite her protests, so they could "talk about something".
Adjusting her cardigan and then combing her fingers through her hair, her mother's voice came into earshot, over the PA system, informing the doctor of her concerns that her daughter has whiplash and then excusing herself to find a "decent" cup of coffee in the cafeteria. Her plan of exit was to check herself out and send a text later, but to do that, she'd have to get a doctor or nurse to sign off on that. An unsteady trail led her to the doorway only to be met with someone coming to check on her ─ perfect timing, Mercer stumbling out of the way, perhaps a bit more hazy than she led on. Just her luck too, as it's none other than a being from her past; her married life, still like a fresh wound as she ushers a smile to the front. "Aren't you a sight for sore eyes, Maeve Chapman," Using the other woman to steady her stance, Mercer regards her, unfazed, as if they're old friends and perhaps they are, "I was just wondering how I was gonna bribe the nurse to let me out of here."

How to Choose the Right Commercial Lighting for Your Business in Qatar
Lighting plays a crucial role in commercial spaces, impacting aesthetics, productivity, and energy efficiency. Choosing the right commercial lighting for your business in Qatar requires careful consideration of various factors, including functionality, design, and sustainability. With an array of options available at LED lights shops in Qatar, businesses must select the ideal lighting solutions that align with their operational needs. This guide explores the essential aspects of choosing commercial lighting in Qatar.
Understanding the Importance of Commercial Lighting
Enhancing Productivity and Comfort
Proper lighting enhances workplace efficiency and employee comfort. Poor lighting can lead to eye strain, fatigue, and reduced productivity, while well-planned lighting solutions create an inviting atmosphere and boost focus.
Energy Efficiency and Cost Savings
Investing in energy-efficient lighting, such as LED lights, reduces energy consumption and lowers electricity bills. With Qatar’s focus on sustainability, many lighting companies in Qatar offer eco-friendly solutions that comply with green building standards.
Aesthetic and Branding Impact
Lighting significantly influences the ambiance of a commercial space. The right lighting scheme enhances branding, draws attention to products, and improves customer experience. Whether you need spot lights for retail stores or outdoor lights for building exteriors, choosing the appropriate fixtures can transform your business environment.
Types of Commercial Lighting
General Lighting
General lighting provides overall illumination for a workspace. LED panel lights, fluorescent tubes, and recessed lighting are popular options in Qatar for offices, retail stores, and hospitality sectors.
Task Lighting
Task lighting focuses on specific work areas, improving visibility for tasks such as reading, writing, or assembling products. Desk lamps, under-cabinet lighting, and adjustable LED fixtures are commonly used for this purpose.
Accent Lighting
Accent lighting highlights particular areas, such as displays, artwork, or architectural features. Spot lights are ideal for enhancing focal points in retail environments, restaurants, and hotels.
Outdoor Lighting
Outdoor commercial lighting is essential for security, aesthetics, and functionality. Wall lights, floodlights, and pathway lights ensure safety and enhance the exterior appeal of buildings.
Emergency and Security Lighting
Emergency lighting ensures safety during power failures, guiding employees and customers to exits. LED exit signs, motion-activated security lights, and backup lighting systems are crucial in commercial spaces.
Factors to Consider When Choosing Commercial Lighting
1. Assessing Business Needs
The type of business determines lighting requirements. Offices require bright yet comfortable lighting, while restaurants may opt for warm and ambient illumination. Retail stores benefit from a mix of spot lights and general lighting to showcase products effectively.
2. Energy Efficiency and Sustainability
Opt for energy-efficient solutions to reduce costs and environmental impact. LED lights shops in Qatar offer various options that consume less power and last longer than traditional bulbs.
3. Lighting Design and Aesthetics
The lighting layout should complement the architectural style and interior design of the business space. Wall lights and decorative fixtures add character, while recessed lighting provides a clean, modern look.
4. Brightness and Color Temperature
Brightness levels, measured in lumens, should be suitable for the business type. Cool white light (4000K–5000K) is ideal for offices, while warm white (2700K–3500K) creates a cozy ambiance in restaurants and hotels.
5. Durability and Maintenance
Choose durable and low-maintenance lighting solutions. Lighting companies in Qatar offer LED options with extended lifespans, reducing the need for frequent replacements.
6. Compliance with Local Regulations
Ensure that the chosen lighting meets Qatar’s commercial building codes and sustainability standards. Many lighting companies in Qatar provide certified solutions that align with regulatory requirements.
Choosing the Right Lighting Fixtures
LED Panel Lights
Best suited for offices and commercial spaces, LED panel lights provide uniform illumination, reducing glare and enhancing visibility.
Track and Spot Lights
Perfect for retail stores, showrooms, and galleries, spot lights highlight specific areas, drawing attention to merchandise or displays.
Pendant and Chandeliers
Restaurants, hotels, and upscale stores benefit from decorative pendant lights and chandeliers, which add elegance and sophistication.
Wall Lights
Ideal for corridors, lobbies, and outdoor areas, wall lights enhance safety and aesthetics.
Outdoor Floodlights and Pathway Lights
Essential for building exteriors, parking lots, and walkways, outdoor lights provide security and visibility.
Smart Lighting Solutions for Businesses
Motion Sensor Lights
Motion-activated lighting improves energy efficiency and security by turning on only when movement is detected.
Dimmable LED Fixtures
Dimmable lights allow businesses to adjust brightness levels according to needs, creating a flexible lighting environment.
Smart Control Systems
Automated lighting systems enable businesses to control brightness, color temperature, and schedules via mobile apps or centralized controls.
Installation and Maintenance Tips
Hire Professional Installers: Collaborate with experienced technicians from reputable lighting companies in Qatar to ensure safe and efficient installation.
Regular Maintenance: Clean fixtures and replace faulty lights promptly to maintain optimal illumination.
Upgrade to Energy-Efficient Solutions: Transition from traditional bulbs to LED alternatives for long-term savings.
Conclusion
Choosing the right commercial lighting for your business in Qatar involves evaluating needs, energy efficiency, design, and compliance with regulations. Whether you need spot lights for retail, wall lights for aesthetics, or outdoor lights for security, investing in high-quality lighting solutions enhances functionality and ambiance. Explore options at LED lights shops in Qatar and collaborate with top lighting companies in Qatar to create an efficient and visually appealing commercial space.

The Importance of Emergency Exit Lighting and Signage in Saudi Workplaces

Safety is a primary concern in any workplace, and Saudi Arabian companies are no exception. Emergency exit illumination and signage are an important but frequently disregarded component of workplace safety. In the event of a fire, power outage, or other natural disaster, these systems are crucial for directing staff, guests, and customers to safety. Panic can spread swiftly in the absence of conspicuous, well-lit signage, raising the possibility of harm or death. To ensure proper installation and compliance with safety regulations, businesses can benefit from the expertise of the best fire and safety company in Saudi Arabia. This article discusses the importance of emergency exit lighting and signage in Saudi workplaces, how they assist companies in maintaining compliance, and the best practices for installing and maintaining them.
Why Emergency Exit Lighting and Signage Are Essential

1. Enabling Safe and Efficient Evacuation
In an emergency, every second counts. Employees may find it challenging to exit a building due to smoke, darkness, or confusion. Clear, visible routes to the closest exits are made possible by emergency exit illumination and signs, facilitating a quick and efficient evacuation. This is particularly crucial in busy office environments, industrial locations, and huge commercial buildings where chaos can result from confusion.
2. Adhering to the safety regulations of Saudi Arabia
Authorities like the High Commission for Industrial Security (HCIS) and the Saudi Civil Defense have established stringent safety requirements in Saudi Arabia. These rules require commercial and industrial buildings to have emergency exit signage and lights installed.
3. Strengthening the Safety Culture at Work
A company's dedication to worker safety is demonstrated by an emergency exit system that is well-lit and conspicuously signposted. It promotes a readiness culture and reassures workers that their health is important. Employers who make safety investments typically see a decrease in workplace accidents and an increase in employee satisfaction.
4. Lessening Fear and Perplexity in Emergencies
Panic can result in injuries, and emergencies can generate mayhem. People may flee in the wrong direction, become imprisoned, or make matters worse when they are unsure of where to go. Clear instructions are provided by appropriately positioned and lit signage, which helps people exit the building securely.
5. Assisting in Cases of Power Outages
Power outages are occasionally caused by the severe weather that Saudi Arabia encounters. Emergency exit lights continue to function in these situations, guaranteeing that people may still make their way to safety. These lights are dependable even in the event that the primary power source fails because they are usually powered by generators or backup batteries.
Best Practices for Installing Emergency Exit Lighting and Signage
Businesses should install and maintain emergency exit lights and signs in accordance with best practices to optimize safety.
1. Make use of LED or photoluminescent exit signs
Among the best choices for emergency exit signage are LED and photoluminescent signs. While photoluminescent signs shine in the dark and don't require electricity, LED signs are long-lasting, brilliant, and energy-efficient.
2. Post Signs in Strategic Places
All emergency exits, stairwells, hallways, and escape routes should have exit signs placed thoughtfully. Directional arrows should also be utilized to direct people to the closest exit. Additionally, signs must be placed where people can see them well and at eye level.
3. Make sure emergency lighting has backup power.
For emergency exit lights to continue to function in the event of a power outage, it should be connected to a backup power source, such as batteries or generators. To guarantee backup systems operate properly, routine testing and maintenance should be carried out.
4. Perform Routine Inspections and Maintenance
Periodically inspect exit lighting and signage to make sure they are operating properly. To ensure visibility, batteries should be checked, bulbs should be changed, and signage should be cleaned. Professional inspections should be scheduled by businesses at least once a year.
5. Train Employees on Emergency Evacuation Procedures
Even with proper signage, employees must be aware of emergency exit procedures. Regular fire drills and training sessions help employees familiarize themselves with exit routes, reducing confusion during real emergencies.
The Role of Fire and Safety Companies in Ensuring Compliance
Expert fire and safety firms are essential in assisting enterprises in adhering to safety standards. These businesses provide services like:
Installing signage and illumination for emergency exits
Regular upkeep and examinations
Risk assessments and safety audits
Employee training on fire safety
By collaborating with a trustworthy fire and safety firm, companies can guarantee that their emergency escape systems are always up to code and completely functional.
Final Thoughts
In Saudi Arabia, emergency exit signage and lighting are essential elements of workplace safety. They help firms adhere to standards, calm people in dangerous situations, and direct people to safety during emergencies. Businesses may make the workplace safer for everyone by investing in high-quality exit signs and lights, doing routine maintenance, and educating staff members on evacuation protocols.
Working with the best fire and safety company is the best course of action for companies wishing to build or upgrade their emergency exit lighting and signage. Their knowledge improves general workplace safety while guaranteeing adherence to Saudi standards.
