It’s that time again!

“Hello everyone! I hope the holiday season is treating you well. As you all know, Suniva’s Day is quickly approaching. As is tradition we’re letting everyone put their name down to receive a free mystery gift, delivered to you over the weekend by our Suniva’s Day crew!”

“Hello everyone. I’m Doctor Kyril Xanthos, the current Dean of Apricus University. As you have heard, our city will be opening up tomorrow. So I believe it’s my duty to tell you about our magnificent campus.”

“We are of course located within our own district. You’ll find the university to be on the cutting edge of research and education. The Apricus University Medical Center is located here, providing education to the healers of tomorrow.”

“We’re also in charge of Apricus City’s public schools, hospitals, AND the city’s ISP. We’re a bit more than “just a school” aren’t we? Oh, I should mention that as long as you qualify we are completely tuition free.”

“We’d love to have you stop by and take a tour of the campus if you have the time. Starting tomorrow we’ll be accepting new students as well, so make sure to speak with one of our many enrollment personnel.”

Well this is an unexpected treat. Someone reached out to her for once instead of her looking for a position like a mad person. This Doctor Xanthos, he seemed amenable at least. But then again she learned to never judge by someone's language. Especially in a letter. Turning to the others she smiled. "Looks like we have a place to try first. Who's up for the road trip folks?" The others looked at her skeptically and shrugged simply following after Eve. They didn't know what was in store either but the bubbly brightness Eve had made them follow.

Canon Relations

Here’s a small list of Team OLIV relations to other blogs that I consider canon regardless of verse/plotline. This is info other people could find out or pick up on/reference when RPing with me or these blogs.

This is something I’ll only add to once a lot of RPing has been done with people and only with permission. However, I’m not ruling out discussing stuff like this if anyone wants to and is okay with being referenced in other threads.

The hat that Onyx wears from the Post-Fall arc and onward was given to him by Lye regardless of ship/verse status.

The Aryl and Goodfellow families go back years with Shin and Vincent having known one another since the academies where both met their future wives. Cobalt knows them only in passing. Violet and Jae are childhood friends.

Cobalt and Olivier have worked together on missions before and are acquainted through the Atlas Military, both well aware of the other’s reputation.

The plotlines of these two blogs are technically separate but several characters cross-reference one another and are considered to be happening at the same time. A later arc will actually involve both blogs.

Tyrael Cheshire has been trying to expand his political influence by funneling a lot of his less legal money through charity ventures, including the reconstruction of Beacon Academy. He is a backer of Ciar Industries and their Aurora Project as well as the mastermind behind their plot to install Kyril Xanthos as the headmaster of Beacon once the construction completed.

Lilac is behind arming Bianca and her zealots, using them to cause chaos while she plans her revenge against Jade. She has also requested that she locate Onyx after he ran off again following his escape.

Violet and Catalina are co-hosts on their “Looking for Love” public access broadcast during the Vytal Festival arc. Any contestants will likely be talking to both of them.

Jade and Darcie operate very similar operations and frequent one another’s events. They are the closest thing to peers each other have. While Darcie knows of and has met all of the Red Arena enforcers, they aren’t on close terms and Robin outright hates her.

Whitney’s creation is a direct result of Xanthos’s new Hereditas Project; using the equipment he found in Ozpin’s old basement hidden under the school, as well as data about the aura signature of the maidens and their powers. He attempted to replicate it- and succeeded.

Project Sunrise: Random things to look forward to.

Apricus Council:

Tiberius Ciar. "Despite being considerably older now and having handed over most of his corporate duties to his daughter Andrasta, Tiberius maintains his council position."

Onyx Cheshire. "Onyx has taken over council duties from his father Tyrael. Don't think Tyrael has fully stepped aside though, he still finds time to continue running Cheshire Financial."

Molly Bell. "Darcie and Clovis have retired and spend most of their time relaxing. Molly has taken over her mother's spot on the council as well as being the current head of the Cherry Hills HOA."

Miranda Fisher. "Commander Fisher still maintains her council position but has spoken recently about retiring from the PWSB fairly soon. She has announced her successor, Jae Aryl."

Shani Menril. "The successor to Kyril Xanthos, and the current Dean of Apricus University. Shani didn't exactly ask for the position but was clearly the most qualified for it."

Kei Kawakami. "Hector Larsen still heads the Mariner Services but long ago stepped aside from the Navy and promoted Kawakami. Kei now leads the Apricus Navy and is a long time council member."

Auburn. "Lord Merek still makes appearances, and releases new books but has turned over his leadership position to Auburn. Despite a rocky start she has proven to be a good leader and competent council member."

Sapir Antiny. "The current High Priestess of the Consecration. An obvious choice after Lucianna stepped down. Sapir is almost always seen with her translator and close friend Violet Goodfellow. As you would imagine, Violet attends all council meetings with Sapir."

Lapis Hamelin. "You didn't expect President Styles to fully retire did you? Of course not. You can still find him running union activity out in Smokey Gardens. He has however passed his council position on to Lapis. Styles claims he never liked being on the council in the first place."

Mayor ?????? "I can't give away everything now can I? You'll just have to wait to see who got the job."

University Announcement.

“Attention Apricus University students and staff. I have a brief announcement to make. I will be taking some time off from my duties as Dean. I will continue to act as a member of the city council however much of my time is going to be devoted to the recovery of my daughter.”

“I plan to return to my position when I’m able to do so. Rest assured I will still be there to help should any students or staff require me. That being said, I’d like you to please welcome the new temporary Dean of Apricus University, Mr. Ren Kusunoki.”

“Hey everyone! I’m honored to step up and help out as temporary Dean. Just want you to know that even though my office my be different, the door is still gonna be wide open! If ya need anything at all feel free to drop by and we’ll have a chat!”

Fight for the future.

“Donovan! You better hurry with whatever you’re doing up there! I built this armor to withstand nearly everything but I didn’t anticipate an ai controlled plant witch! I swear this is something out of a comic book!”

“OH! I know that one, her first appearance was..”

“NOT IMPORTANT!” Dodging out of the way of another vine, shards of rocks were pinging off of her armor from nearly every angle. She shifted back to flamethrowers and burned away more of the plants.

“This is getting ridiculous!” Shooting down some of the drones before flipping up on top of one of the mechs, blasting it’s head and sending it crumbling to the ground.

“Come on little bro, I’m buying you as much time as I can!” Punching away a chimera and sending it flying into a wall.

“I GOT IT! I can flush the city systems but it’s going to take a bit for everything to switch back to normal. We’re going to have to take Nephthys out quick or she’ll just take over the systems again!”

“That would be where we come in. Hold on, we’re on our way and another team looks to be at your location as well.”

Fitting a glove of sorts over her right hand. “As long as you’re sure this will work. Typhon, deal with the chimeras and any checkmate backup they have.”

Nodding his head and slamming his fists together.

What was and what should never be.

Years ago..

“You’ve gone through an awful lot of trouble for this girl. I understand she volunteered for the procedure but I’m surprised a council member would be willing to take the risks necessary..”

“She volunteered because she’s braver than either us of. She’s the most compatible out of anyone we’ve ever tested.”

“If that’s the case why wait until now to let her volunteer? If this is successful we’ll have made the biggest breakthrough in scientific history. This chip could allow us to intercept the signal sent from project chimera’s base. The signal that reaches each and every single one of those creatures.”

“If we’re right..we’ll be able to understand what makes them tick. Perhaps we could even learn to send a signal of our own. Think of it..we could save this entire city with one breakthrough. We could end the entire chimera threat..at a cost.”

“Watch your mouth Windsor. The cost you’re talking about is a human life. Even with her conditions..even if it’s possible that she wouldn’t have lived much longer in either case..she’s still a person. I understand more than anyone what it means to weigh one life against potentially millions..”

“The likelyhood of her surviving the procedure is nearly seventy-three percent. If I’m correct we’ll be able to kill two birds with one stone..we save her life..and we implant the chip which..”

“Which has a possibility of completely altering her personality. This has never been done before..even after all the research I’ve done...all the preparing..I don’t know how it’s going to effect her..”

“She made the final call Xanthos...and she’s running out of time. I fear that other forces have figured out what we’re doing here..and it’s only a matter of time before they discover our location. You need to make a decision!”

“Do not tell me how to act when it comes to my own daughter!” Shoving the other man against the wall only to release him a moment later. “She..wanted this...but I don’t know if I can go through with it..”

Brushing himself off “If it helps clear your conscious..let me handle most of the work. I’ll only need your assistance at the very end.”

“Flannery is willing to sacrifice herself on the small chance we can stop this endless war. She always did think of the greater good before everything else..I suppose it’s time we do the same..”

Revolution Day Council Speeches. Part One.

Miranda Fisher: Commander of the PWSB.

“Hello everyone, I hope you’re doing well. For those that may not be aware, I am Commander Fisher of the PWSB. Every year the council likes to use Revolution Day as a platform to address the city, and make our promises for the year.”

“We here at the PWSB remain dedicated to keeping the city safe. The men, women, and non-binary people under my command continue to risk their lives in the unending pursuit of justice, and safety. This is not something that will ever change. We are here for all of you.”

“You have our promise that we will continue to handle any and all threats. From street level crime to threats presented by terrorists like Hades, or Chimera. Speaking of chimera, I should point out that due to our new security measures the amount of chimera sightings has drastically decreased.”

“I’d like to take a quick moment to thank the folks at the Apricus Detective Network. They are proof that you don’t need to be part of the PWSB to lend a helping hand. Simply letting us know when you see something strange happening could help prevent any escalation.”

“Please go about your lives knowing that we are here to serve, and protect you. That will never change. Enjoy your Revolution Day weekend.”

Merek: Guru of Potentialism.

“It’s quite a lovely weekend for the festivities is it not? Allow me to introduce myself for those of you who may not know. My name is Merek, I am the founder and current Guru of Potentialism. I will not use this platform to solely speak about our believes however I do encourage anyone with questions to come and visit our temple in Solis Heights.”

“As always you have my promise to continue helping this city grow. Not just from a physical standpoint, though we have opened up several shelters, food banks, and soup kitchens over the past year. Allow me to take a quick second and thank the fine people of the Union for their assistance with that.”

“We’re here to help you grow spiritually as well. If you find yourself lost, like you do not belong, like no one cares about you think again. We will always be there with open arms, we will never turn our backs on those of you in need. Even if all you need is reassurance that you matter.”

“I promise that we will do everything in our power to help the people of this city in whatever was we can. We will work together with the other great organizations of Apricus to counter any threats, and protect all of you.”

Darcie Bell: President of the Cherry Hills HOA.

“Hello! I’m Darcie Bell, the president of the HOA over in the district of Cherry Hills! I am just pleased as punch to be here today! I just love getting the chance to address everyone! I know a lot of you have never visited my little district so this may be your first time seeing me! It’s great to meet you all!”

“Now, you know just how private, and secure Cherry Hills is. We’ve been the safest district in the city for a long time now. All thanks to our fantastic neighborhood watch along with some simply fabulous security measures! Don’t expect that to change any time soon! We over in Cherry Hills strive to be the pride of Apricus!”

“We also help the economy out a great deal, you just might not realize it. There’s plenty of products that can only be found in our district that we ship out every single day! We keep them reasonably priced so everyone can enjoy the fruits of our labors!”

“As a council member, everyone of you is my responsibility, not just the folks back home. Cherry Hills is always there to lend a helping hand to the city in it’s times of need! I promise that I will always do everything in my power to help make the rest of Apricus just as safe and wonderful as my home district!”

Captain Hector Larsen: Head of Larsen’s Mariner Services.

“Alright, I’ll keep this quick. You know I’ve never been that comfortable being up here talking to the entire city. I’ve got people I usually let handle that.”

“I’m Captain Larsen, yeah technically Admiral but I never liked that title. We take care of the upper, and lower docks. I’m also in charge of the marines. So here’s the deal. I’m gonna promise you all that we’ll keep doing what we always do.”

“We’re here to make sure goods come into Apricus, and leave Apricus with no troubles. We check the cargo to make sure everything is ship shape. We patrol the surrounding waters taking care of any pirates dumb enough to show up, not to mention making sure no sea beast gets any ideas about getting close to the docks.”

“My marines are well trained and always ready to be deployed at the drop of a hat. If Apricus needs us, we’ll be there. We’ve got dedicated defense teams, rescue teams, you name it. We’re always ready to mobilize, I personally make sure we keep our response time as quick as possible.”

Tiberius Ciar: Founder of Ciar Industries.

“Much like Captain Larsen, I’m going to try and keep this brief. I am Tiberius Ciar, the founder of Ciar Industries. It’s a name most of you are likely familiar with. You probably have some of our products in your home, have watched some of our programs, or have eaten at some of our establishments.”

“Ciar Industries has always been about innovation. We always strive to be better than we were yesterday. I promise you we will continue to provide you with the goods, and services you know and love. Everything Ciar Industries provides goes through rigorous inspections to make sure it’s quality is top of the line. You deserve nothing less than the best.”

We were the first on the scene when it came to reclaiming the goods stolen by a particularly bold thief. We’ve assisted law enforcement on many occasions, providing technology, and manpower.”

Doctor Kyril Xanthos: Dean of Apricus University.

“Hi everyone, I’m Doctor Kyril Xanthos. I am the current Dean at Apricus University. I hope you’re all well. As my fellow council members have already said, this is the time where we make our promises for the year.”

“Apricus University has always put it’s students first and foremost. I promise our commitment to you will never lessen. We have the best staff, and facilities around. After all, the students attending the university today will be the ones in charge of tomorrow. I’m sure when we’ve all retired you’ll be seeing former students up here in the council seats.”

“I promise we’ll continue to do everything in our power to help our students in whatever ways we can. We have extensive programs dedicated to the physical, and mental wellbeing of our students and staff.”

“We’re also home to the largest medical facility in all of Apricus, with the most skilled nurses, doctors, and specialists calling it home. We will continue to provide you with the expert medical care you deserve.”

“Lastly I should mention our commitment to bringing you uninterrupted, fast, and safe internet access. We’re responsible for keeping Apricus connected to each other and we have the absolute best of the best making sure everything runs smoothly.”

“I can’t give you an explanation Commander. I just know that her last known location was said to be heading toward your district before she went dark.”

“What do you mean her last known location? Don’t give me your bullshit Xanthos, what is going on here?”

“It’s complicated...right now I am just concerned for the safety of one of my students. Chimera is still out there and we know she likes to play games with people’s lives.”

“Of course I’m going to help you find her, but when this is over you and I are going to have a little chat..”
