This man, the joy that is Darth Vowrawn, has been in Sith governance for over fifty years and is quite the company. Darth Arho lasted less than a year and he didn’t have a sense of humour.

I use the setting and in game stories as background - aka those things are certainly happening, but they are happening to other people. I have one character who a modification of the class story happens to (Sabrah is my Darth Nox/Alliance Commander), but the same outcome can’t really happen to the rest of them, they are different people.
So my characters are all part of a separate but connected story that is happening at the same time. There are billions of people in the galaxy after all, with their own life and own stories, and that is what I’m exploring.
Following the Story
This is mostly a question for those who like to develop stories for their character(s): do you rigidly follow the games, or do you diverge at some points so everything makes sense? Or do you simply ignore the main class stories altogether, make up your own from scratch and/or borrow certain elements (i.e. companions) carte blanche?
Reason I’m asking is because I’ve been finalizing details of my Legacy’s story solely for art/fic purposes, and in regards to the Sith Warrior, his story diverts pretty drastically about the halfway point (involving the Sith Inquisitor, who is a Darth at that point), and I’m still not 100% sure how taboo-or-not divergences from main class stories are in the SWTOR fandom. =V
