Mystery/Thriller Monday

Meddy accidentally causes the death of a blind date, which is not good, but, it gets worse (and more wacky crazy) when she is convinced by her Mom and Aunties to hide the body. Okay, not great, but not horrible. Then… it does go even more sideways when the body is shipped to a super luxury resort where Meddy’s family is putting on a very high profile wedding. And, I’m gonna be honest, that’s just the start of this hilariously awesome caper novel! There’s also a heckuva ex of Meddy’s in there too.

The characters were awesome, the twists and turns are awesome, and it’s just a really fun and different read. I don’t really read as many capers and have always leaned more towards thrillers and forensic/police procedural mysteries, so, this was a great change of pace. A really really fun read.

The Rocca Family Round 5

Sadly, the Rocca Family can no longer afford the rent on Factory One.

Over the course of the last few rounds, Jade, Eva and Paolo have poured very single cent they have earned into their bills, but it still isn't enough.

At the beginning of the round, Paolo took out a 10,000 Simolean loan to cover their taxes. They will be moving out at the end of this round.

I suppose the timing is right, because Eva decides immediately this round that she is ready to move out.

Jade is a Fortune Sim, and her career is one of her main priorities.

She works constantly on the skills she needs to move up the career ladder.

She's not afraid to step on a few toes on her way to the top.

Paolo gets a promotion to Bodybuilder this round.

He also reaches his Maximum Body Potential and has completed the Bodybuilder Aspiration!

Paolo takes Daisy swimming on his day off.

Eva meets a bar tender named Kyla Kaplan one evening out at the bar who she finds herself very attracted to.

Despite denying all of Eva's advances at the bar, Kyla shows up on Eva's doorstep to flirt early the next morning.

Eva, Jade and Paolo throw a house party their last weekend in Factory One.

Strawberry Rose Princess Cookie was the former heiress to the House of Rosegold. She awoke from a curse placed on her from before the Dark Flour War, and now joins Gingerbrave and his team on a quest to save Earthbread. She is also the childhood friend and love interest of Pure Vanilla. Her code is cookie0398 (my irl birthday).

Soulstone: Carved from the very crystal that entrapped her, this soulstone houses ancient royalty eager to explore the chaos of modern life. Its presence sweetens the air but be careful! The stone may sting if it senses danger!

Strawberry Rose Princess is a brown cookie of a hefty size. She had pink hair often loose or twisted, hot magenta eyes, and thick eyelashes. Her main outfit is a jade colored long sleeved tunic, matching pants, and dark green boots. She also wears a thick brown belt with a golden buckle, and yellow roses in her hair. Her gowns come in red, pink or white - the color of roses.

Skill: Rose Piroutte: A rose-shaped scepter of a mystery skill!

Personality: SRP is a spunky lass with the thirst for knowledge and a kind heart. However she can get feisty and frustrated easily. She deeply misses her old life and bears many regrets over missing out. She has a bit of a competitive streak and as such can be a sore loser. Another side is that she is a romantic at heart, believing in true love and love at first sight, writing romantic poetry and reading novels. However she can also get angry if things don't work out or if she feels slighted. She does manage to control her temper, becoming more calmer and thoughtful.

Relationship: She formed a close bond with Gingerbrave, Wizard, Chili, Custard III and Strawberry, having joined them after Gingerbrave noticed her wandering around lost and offered her help. Though she does argue with Chili, and she dotes on Custard a little too much.

But perhaps her biggest relationship is with Healer Cookie. She was touched by his kindness, and pitied him for his condition. So she helped him, making her he got rest. But when she offered to change his bandages he refuses, which she respected the choice. She told Healer he reminded her of a friend she knew long ago; that she was searching for Pure Vanilla to help her get her memory reinstated. In turn Healer spoke of a friend he knew, but lost in the war. As Healer regained his own memories he realized that the girl was in fact his lost love The Strawberry Princess, but could not tell her as to protect her and her friends. SRP finally figured it out at Dark Enchantress banquet when, upon being threatened by the evil woman, Healer spoke up in her defense and revealed himself as Pure Vanilla.

SRP was shook!

All that time she had been gushing about Pure Vanilla right in front of the real deal. She felt embarrassed and upset. She set those feelings aside when PV was captured by the Dark Cookies. Wanting to make up for her mistake SRP challenged them to a fight, eventually driving them off and restoring PV.

After the final battle the two went to have a private moment to talk things over. PV was elated to find that SRP was alive, but wondered how it was possible. SRP believed that fate decided to be nice for a change, and the two shared a hug.
