1. This is the way…seeker. Justina Ireland’s new novel will explore Vernestra Rwoh’s life about 20 years prior to the events of The Acolyte, a giant leap from when we last saw the teenaged prodigy in Phase III of The High Republic storytelling. 2. Yord and Jecki live! We have good news for members of the Yord Horde and Jecki Jam: Tessa Gratton will resurrect these fan-favorite characters for a new YA novel set in the years leading up to The Acolyte. The book arrives in July 2025. No word yet on a San Diego Comic-Con exclusive edition with bonus steamer. 6. Even more art from The Acolyte. And arriving next year, The Art of The Acolyte will join the bestselling series of Abrams books based on Star Wars productions, taking us behind the scenes with concept art, costume designs, creature illustrations, and more! Written by Kristin Baver with a foreword by series creator Leslye Headland, the book arrives next July.

Got my hands on Kristin Baver’s newly published Star Wars 100 Objects and, oh boy, am I going to have fun with this! The last line of the first paragraph here for the entry on Padme’s wedding veil suggesting how they might have officially registered their marriage is so intriguing!

Got a great new book today, Star Wars: 100 Objects by Kristin Baver, and there was even a page about Nemik’s manifesto!
Tumblr media
Here’s what the book had to say, some of which I believe is new information:
“Saw Gerrera is often considered the first leader of the Rebel cause. Before the fall of the Republic, this violent Onderonian extremist rose up against his homeworld's government, who had joined the Separatist faction. Yet he was not the true architect of the Rebel Alliance, which involved unifying many factions fighting for the same goal under one banner.
That position may be said to belong to a young idealist named Karis Nemik who, in the pages of what would effectively become the Rebel manifesto, set down his thoughts on the oppressive Imperial machine.
It remains one of the precious few documents that guided and helped to motivate scattered rebel cells during the early days of the Alliance.
‘The pace of oppression outstrips our ability to understand it," Nemik wrote. "That is the real trick of the Imperial thought machine.’ The manifesto is effectively a blueprint for dismantling Palatine's Empire.
After making the acquaintance of a mysterious mercenary named Clem, Nemik came to believe that hired guns might play an important part in a plot to overthrow the Emperor. ‘Weapons are tools; those that use them are by extension functional assets that we must use to our best advantage,’ he wrote.
‘The Empire has no moral boundaries. Why should we not take hold of every chance we can? Let them see how an insurgency adapts.’
Sometimes referred to as The Trail of Political Consciousness, Nemik's untitled work exemplifies the intellectual climate that fostered the Rebel revolt to restore democracy. The manifesto espoused freedom, independence, and justice. It is also credited with helping to inspire Cassian Andor to join the growing unrest. Without Nemik's writings, Andor might never have gone on to work on the frontlines of the turmoil. He became a crucial member of Rebel intelligence, an adept spy dedicated to the Alliance and willing to sacrifice his life for freedom.”

9/21/23 Open 6-9p. No open containers, please.
"A long time ago, in a galaxy far, far away..."
I can't help but wonder what tale was told by Huyang in 'Ahsoka' episode 6, but the cue surely sent viewers of a certain age right back to 1977.
Kristin Baver's "Skywalker–A Family at War" (2021) is a sort of biography or history book chronicling the iconic "Star Wars" family. Study. There may be a test.

we really don’t give the disney star wars books enough credit.
padme and sabe? super sapphic now. you love to see it.
ahsoka? e.k. says here, have some demisexual rep. as a treat. also, girls.
obi wan? padawan giving us textbook asexuality, right down to the sheer ?????? panic every ace has while they try to figure out if they like everyone or no one or just very certain people under very certain circumstances and obi did this without crying which honestly makes him better than me.
and then you got claudia gray and kristin baver just out here declaring the jedi aren’t allowed to bone at all. seriously. leave room for the force. the myth of consensual jedi sex. except for you, rael averross, you’re doing amazing sweetie.
