Think about Imogen who prayed and prayed and prayed and yet none of the Gods ever responded. Imogen who thinks she's unwanted. And then finally, she hears the voice of Kord. Kord, the Stormlord. Kord who searched her out and spoke with her through Groon. Telling her that he sees her that he has an eye on her.

I actually kind of saw this as the Stormlord tends to pick Champions who are ridiculously strong because of circumstances they had no control over... ie Grog and Yasha. Imogen is strong. She keeps the team together. She holds out hope longest that her mother may turn and come back to her. She hears everything everyone is thinking ALL the time and yet, she still has hope. That is the kind of strength if I was a god I would look for in my Champion.

you know what. of course the first god to actually reach out and speak directly to imogen without her asking is the fucking STORM LORD.

obvious storm-lightning-power references aside, most of the gods are just indirect bitches and the storm lord has a tendency to just. say shit. that's what she needs from the gods right now.
