I am SO sure that my local kookaburra knows I’m obsessed with him because anytime I hear him or see him in my backyard I’m running and pressing my face (and phone camera) to the glass with the giddiest smile on my face.
Also he’s looked right at me with all the judgement a bird with mocking laughter for birdsong can have. I love him.

Uncharismatic Fact of the Day
Laughing kookaburras don’t need a gender reveal party; the sex of their offspring is almost always determined by the order in which the eggs are laid and whether or not the parents had any helpers. The first-laid eggs are almost always male, and the second are almost always female. Nests that have helpers are also far more likely to produce males than those without.

America, Clown of the World
THE FATE OF THE WORLD IS IN HIS HANDS? A befuddled Biden gave a speech in Hartford Connecticut on Friday (June 16) where he said, ‘God save the queen, man.’ — nine months after attending her funeral — and then had to be led off the stage. https://billmichelmore.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/06/v47bk2.mp4 ARE YOU FUCKN KIDDING ME,…

It's Time For ... Another Jolly Monday!
Good Monday morn, dear friends … again already.  I hope you all had a wonderful weekend and are ready to face yet another week of political chaos and whatever life throws at you!  Joyful has gone to help out a friend in need this week, so it’s just me ‘n Jolly.  That means that instead of the great spread Joyful usually lays out for you, you’ll have to settle for store-bought cinnamon rolls ‘n…
