Look what just arrived at my doorstep!

So as some might have noticed, I'll be going to Castelia tomorrow and get to meet the incredible @artyburgh (for real he's such an inspiring personality). And as some might have noticed as well, he's a gym leader. One who's holding a badge I don't own myself. I've actually given up on my gym challenge a few years back, which was mostly because of time management, me helping at my parents farm and some other personal stuff, but also a little bit because he just CRUSHED me, which left me a little demotivated. I still went battling and trained a lot, i just didn't challenge any gyms until like last year i got the opportunity to get my café going, which was when i basically stopped battling entirely. At the same time though, i always wanted, and still want to beat Burgh in a gym battle. A bit because i want revenge, a bit because i just want that badge, but also because he, and i genuinely mean it, is one of my biggest inspirations in life. And well, now I'm gonna go to Castelia and meet him. I'm going to see if i can work up the courage to fight him again, but if i do, I'll be prepared.

So, let me introduce some heavy lifters, who basically when i was still battling, carried me through most of my fights together with Bienenstich and Carrot Cake (who i haven't introduced yet).

This is Basil! She's not very special in a competitive sense or anything, but she's very strong. She also shares my love for metal and punk music, and might have a little crush on Mica, but tbh who doesn't?

And this is Poppy! He's incredibly strong, but he's a cutie. He and Basil are together (they have two children who have been given to trainers). He also loves metal.

They are two very powerful battlers. I hope they can be of use against Burgh (again, if i even decide to battle)

I hate what SNK has done to King. Homegirl used to be all about her brother, first with being so obsessed with making money to pay for his medical expenses that she JOINED THE DAMN MOB AND DID CRIME, then, when that was taken care of, wanted to fight not just for funsies, but because she wanted the lad to be proud of her. But, then someone was all "Won't it be funny if we give the androgynous tomboy a schoolgirl crush?" And someone else (or maybe a bunch of someones) were all "YEAH! Tee-hee-hee!!!" Then someone else was like "AND LET'S MAKE HER MORE AND MORE FEMME BECAUSE SHE WANTS TO IMPRESS HIM!" Now King's entire personality is an unrequited crush on Ryo (Idk how many times I have to say they are not a canon couple). Literally all she does in team stories is blush. Or every now and then she'll lament the state of things with him. She went from being iconic for breaking gender stereotypes and saying "fuck you" to traditional gender roles to "I LIKE A BOY!" and it sucks. She'll always be my fav, but geezus. Hire me, SNK. I'll fix her.

I've been surrounded by Pokémon basically my whole life. My dad was a professional battler (he actually was in consideration for one of the elite 4 spots, but ultimately wasn't chosen), so he had quite a few competitive partners. My mom comes from a breeding farm in Galar, and after my parents met, they founded the Orram-Farm near Lacunosa Town. So... There are a lot of cool mons over there, but the one i consider my starter (and who was officially recognised as such) is Coffee, my Koffing. My grandma brought him over from Galar when i was like 5 or 6, and we immediately bonded. I loved how round and floaty he was (and still is and i still love it). Originally, we weren't allowed to see each other because it's dangerous for a kid to be around a koffing all the time [which is the right thing to doy don't get me wrong], but i always snuck out and he was always so nice and tried to puff as little as possible around me. It was really funny, because i noticed a few times when i left, he let out a huuuuuuge cloud of gas. When grand left, i threw such a huge tantrum until she and my parents agreed to let Coffee stay. And finally when i started my gym challenge, my parents agreed to let him be my starter, because at this time we were basically inseparable.

Pokémon trainers with unorthodox starters (aka not one of the grass, fire, or water offered in your region) what is it? And what’s their story?

When I turned 10 I really wanted to start training pokemon but honestly was pretty scared of all of the starters in my region so my parents decided to get me a little pup Rockruff and I named her Jax and she’s who I consider my starter and she’s been with me ever since

Something you mentioned at one point was the idea that the Southeastern Mondstadters are viewed with some suspicion as they were mainly descended from Snezhnayaians who fled to escape the Fatui.

In game lore, Diluc is mentioned to be involved with an intelligence network within Snezhnaya that are thoroughly anti-Tsaritsa/Fatui.

I think it could be interesting for the idea that these southeastern Mondstadters might on occasion go back to Snezhnaya, but with the sole purpose to screw with the Fatui organization (think WWII style Polish/Yugoslav partisans)

In other words… Diluc leading these Mondstadter Hajdúk/Partisan raids, against the Fatui (all done without the KoF knowing)

Diluc

Diluc is the forefront of every operation, his invaluable knowledge of how the Fatui operate is often what separates a failed mission from a successful one. However, he himself cannot involve himself too directly (as much as he would relish in doing so) lest he poke the sleeping bear that is already breathing down his country’s neck and bring the Snezhnayan military to the front gates of Mondstadt. So he opts for a more subtle approach. Wearing and tearing down the Fatui by offering arms to those who oppose them (often the citizens they govern), sabotaging their supply shipments, and disrupting their political processes.

Yelan

Yelan works in the shadows, forcefully poking and prodding at the innards of Snezhnayan political and military power in order to extract the pure, unfiltered truth. She reports to the Tianquan, who shares the information with whoever she pleases. However, Yelan also reports to the network, sharing only the details that are needed for whatever vocation that is transpiring to go well.

Sangonomiya Kokomi

One may not expect the high priestess of Watatsumi Island to be associated with such a scandalous affair, but Kokomi is well versed in the art of destruction from the inside out. She is the core strategist for all operations involving force, and is no stranger to civic warfare. She disguises all identities under layers of waterlogged evidence, leaving only the Fatui scrambling to find a culprit. Her web of red herrings always lead to the wrong target, and the Fatui find themselves drowning in a sea of could-bes and could-nots.

Wriothesley

Remarkably, The Duke uses a much more supportive strategy than one would think. Those who are under siege for providing information or resisting Fatui oppression can find sanctuary within the Fortress of Meropride. Wriothesley provides jeopardized informants with protection (and even a new identity, if needed) under the guise of taking them in as a prisoner. There, they are safeguarded from prying eyes and guileful assassins while they take the time to be forgotten by society. If needed, he will personally allocate guards to chaperone them to another safe house closer to (or farther from!) their home.

Doing a little series where I took some ship requests on my instagram to make them fankids, this one is for me tho (jeanlisa to kick it off whoo 🙌🏻) The lineup so far is Cytham, Kavetham, Lionfish (aka Freminet x Gaming aged up probably idk how old they are canonically), Cynonari, Jealuc, and Beiguang, and feel free to send me some other pairings you wanna see (as long as they are legal pls otherwise I will ignore it 👎)

I'm gonna ramble about some headcanons and lore for them under the cut, continue with caution bc I'm insane

These two are my brainrot rn, don't even joke lad. And I wanna tell yall their name meanings too bc I like them a lot ���� Zephra's means "west wind" derived from Greek, and it's the feminine version of Zephyr. Tyrian was a type of purple dye used by the Ancient Phoenicians, huge huge HUGE thanks to my pookie bear @miothefish for helping me out with his name!!! Also he has Lisa's butterfly earring and you can't see bc of the angle but Zephra has the rose that went in her hair holding her ponytail <3

I'm also making a massive family tree for the characters as a go along, and just the jeanlisa tree is taking up half of the canvas bc of the KoF and Sumeru characters since Cyno is their uncle and the rest of the gang are their honorary uncles 😭 I'll be posting that once the series is done/all the requests are finished/I run out of ships and otps I enjoy

Here's an alternative version with some more info on most of the characters I wanted to briefly mention in their relation to them; Tyrian likes calling Eula his aunt too even though she was never really considered one for them so it's kind of like her unofficial title she pretends to dislike but she loves it and dotes on Tyrian 🤭 She and Diluc also helped train Zephra with a claymore and Diluc kind of became a parental figure to her in her teen years after Lisa's passing 🥺 She also feels like she's outshined by Jean and that she's not smart or powerful enough to follow in Lisa's footsteps (something that Lisa wouldn't want anyways bc it led her to her death 😔) rip zephra she's just like me fr

And yeah some Kaeya angst bc he's still going thru it I fear, and Jean is single mombossing but she's worried for zephra which me too dawg, im afraid to say she might be cooked 😦 Zephra is also kind of like a weird mix of Lisa when she was her age and Jean, where overall she's well-mannered and kind but she can be competitive and feel the need to push herself too much and pull a few strings to get what she wants from time to time. Tyrian is a ray of sunshine tho, he has not yet witnessed the horrors 💔 I do think that Jean is also a lot easier on him than her mom was with her so that also helps. He's very shy tho and wants to stick with Zephra or Razor most of the time, and they both have some nasty tan lines from going out with Razor and Klee and Fischl a lot 😔 Cyno also freaking loves them and dotes on them and Tyrian is getting a TCG addiction because of it smh, Cyno is also one of Zephra's favorite people and when she's in Sumeru she stays with him and Alhaitham (bc in my universe they are married ough I love cytham)

And (I think?) Klee physically and mentally ages slower than humans so I think she'd be technically 9 or 10, and Zephra is left with babysitting duty most of the time if she's home on break or smth 😭 Klee really looks up to her tho

Also, I wrote Tyrian's last bullet point like he was super young when Lisa died, but I think he was around 7 so he actually remembers Lisa better than I intended it to sound, he was just younger than Zephra (who was 11 at the time) and just didn't have as much time with her as Zeph did, but his most fond memory of Lisa was reading with her and she probably taught them some potion-making skills too.

I think there will be some abyss angst in here too at some point, since I hc Lisa to be probably an Abyss Lector/Harold (I forget which is which) um so thinking that Zeph and Tyrian experiencing some not normal things happening and Jean doesn't know what to do since Lisa also didn't really know what that dog in her was until it was too late 😔 That's what Kaeya's for tho since he's like the heir of the abyss???? Go off king. Also some touchy ragbros angst bc Kaeya is scared for Zeph knowing how close she is with Luc and he doesn't want him to push her away because of her being from the abyss or smth (they mostly made up but it's still a fear in Kaeya's mind both for him and Jean's kids)

I think that's all I wanted to touch on for now?? Mainly just thinking about domestic fluff and angst all the time now 🥺 Zeph not being able to be open with Jean bc she feels like a disappointment but Jean would literally actually die for her and shes proud of her no matter what ough im going to lose my freak dawg guess who my favorite fankid is it's super hard ik

Roman and Remus got their Eevees from their parents before they both left home at age 10. They became somewhat estranged after some 10 year old drama.

Logan is soooo into pokemon research and seeing how pokemon can help further various fields. He goes into a lot of caves and jungles.

Patton didn’t leave home until later when Logan comes through doing very serious 10 year old research. They run into Roman in a ruin.

Virgil and Janus and are desperate to get away. They run into Remus first and do small time crimes that are objectively funny until they meet the others and Viril has a change of heart.

Eventually they all come together for something I don't know haven’t gotten that far.

Much as I don't like being "that guy" myself on media canon order, what's some good SNK classics for extra Terry Bogard lore?

I've been curious since Smash got him and getting a bootleg Fatal Cutie hat got me diving into the SNES Fatal Fury games for story and gameplay roots and how it diverged more from Street Fighter as the franchise progressed into the King of Fighters amalgamation of everything SNK.

I've heard great things about Garou: Mark of the Wolves and Terry's relation to Rock Howard sounds interesting.

So even if I don't end up vibing gameplay wise, I'd still babymode through or watch the cutscenes on Youtube, cause I just like to know something about characters before cosplaying them out of habit.

Outside of the Fatal Fury games, I don't think there's much else to learn about Terry unless you care about what happens in his endings in any game. The story of KOF only really progresses for KOF original characters mostly, characters from other games just kind of show up? It's a weird thing since Garou characters were playable in 2003 and XI but Rock was still a kid. I think they decided to stop worrying about the timeline thing so they could start putting him in KOF. I think Memories of Wolves was the last piece of Garou story for a long time.

The Soaring Neon Pokemon

Typing is mono Electric type, with the ability Levitate. The name is a combo of Neon and Essorer which is old French for soar. Now the reason why this pokemon is French (or should I say Kalosian) is because of some new lore I have accidentally made for the origins of Team Pastiche and it all came from a dream, a very, very, dark dream.

Kalos is at war with someone, not sure who but they seem very willing to kill pokemon,not faint, K I L L.

The opposing army as a way to depleat Kalos's resources creates heavily fortified dams and watch towers. Preventing anyone from getting into Kalos or get out of Kalos, sending constant bombardments to force the Kalosian army into the Catacombs of luminos city, hide in bunkers in the more rural areas of Kalos or take their chances in the wild dangerous wilderness of the mountains. With these bombardments it made transporting supplies and resources to the people and army created a scarcity of food especially for pokemon. This was part of the enemy army's plan, to create a strain on kalos's supplies and make their pokemon start to go hungry. This would either lead to pokemon to retaliate against their trainers or abandon their trainers in order to search for food. This desperation would lead pokemon to be left open to being killed by the enemies attacks and create more problems with supply movement. This description would lead pokemon trying to get past the dams and watchposts where the enemy would have been waiting to gun down any pokemon they see, digging won't work either cuz the dams and watch towers were built with seismic wave detectors to sense movement within the earth aka people or pokemon trying to escape or get in by digging. By using a combination of Koffing and Weezing smoke, Vileplume toxic pollen, Grimer and Muk fumes, Dustox dust, venomoth powder, stunky and Skunktank gas, foongus and Amonguss spors and Revavroom exhaust they created a highly poisonous gas that would either kill a pokemon or cause the pokemon to faint and be unavailable to move long enough to starve to death while any human would die from the poisonous compound. Now here is where the already dark story gets darker. The enemy army would take the dead remains or the extremely exhausted and or injured pokemon into the fortified dams turn out to be the enemies bases. This would be the reason behind how the dams would have constant surveillance and firepower to take care of opposing people and pokemon along with have supplies for themselves. Now what did they do with the dead bodies or the nearly dead pokemon? They would use their bodies to either create weapons that could kill pokemon more effectively or to create new pokemon....fused pokemon. Yes the enemy Kalos had been fighting would be the origins of Team Pastiche. Thankfully one day one of the Dam Bases got hit by a huge counter attack that caused the dame to collapse and break....this caused a flood to happen and Kalos's key to success washed up to their feet.....Fused pokemon......pokemon they had never seen before. Pokemon that neither side fully understood the possibilities and capabilities of. Capabilities yet to be seen by any trainer

I traded her for a shelmet with someone from Kalos when i was younger. She did not have a name for quite some time, so i just referred to her as my "kalosian Escavalier" or "the Escavalier i got from Kalos". When i wanted to give her an actual name, she did not like it. She did not listen and sometimes would even throw a fit (which is not very safe, mind you, Escavalier are very strong and their lances are pointy and heavy), so i eventually reverted back to "The Kalosian". I tried naming her after a few kalosian things since she likes the culture a lot, like Macaron, Debussy and some other things, but she does not like any other name.

By the way kids: do not do what i did. Do not trade Pokémon you just caught half the world away, especially when it is a trade evolution. The Kalosian needed a lot of time to adjust. Understandably so. She was thrust into a trainers care, was brought to a new place that is incredibly different and evolved at the same time. Teyvat Omegaverse AU: Mondstadt and Liyue

This is a collection of headcanons about how Mondstadt and Liyue might treat the concepts of secondary sex and the trappings of the omegaverse genre. This is based on my knowledge of the game and the headcanons I wrote previously on A/B/O biology for this AU. This post may be expanded upon later as the lore of Genshin Impact is very dense, so adjustments may be made to fit in game lore I didn't know or just forgot about. I also won't be writing anything for Natlan right now as that nation has next to nothing about it mentioned in game. SFW but there are mentions of heat cycles and ruts.

Mondstadt

Mondstadt is unique in that it doesn't place a lot of emphasis on one's secondary sex. While there are some lingering stereotypes, such as alphas being large protectors and omegas being soft caretakers, there isn't any harsh cultural norms in place for Mondstadters. Everyone is free to pursue whatever they wish, free from any significant expectation to perform social roles based on their secondary sex.

That being said, Mondstadt does also prioritize having proper education on how secondary sex affects a person and how people should act in around members of other secondary sexs. Unlike other countries, where this type of education is used to enforce social roles and how they should be performed, Mondstadt focuses on the biology of secondary sexs and how to make informed choices with it. It's very much focused on community safety and personal safety.

Alphas are taught about ruts and their heightened ability to pick up on the pheromones others produce. Betas receive education on what their omega and alpha peers experience due to their biology. Omegas are taught about heats and how they produce a wide range of pheromones people can pick up. This leaves Mondstadtens with a good level of understanding of their own secondary sex and that of others, leading them being able to make informed decisions and fostering respect for all secondary sexs.

Barbatos is often depicted as an alpha by the Church of Barbatos. This could be due to the church's scripture being old or the innate human need to project their characteristics onto idols. Barbatos is often seen as a protector of the people of Mondstadt and a wise leader. This has led to many seeing the Anemo Archon as an alpha, filling the stereotypical role of a strong protector.

The Knights of Favonius does not discriminate on the basis of secondary sex. Regardless of if someone is an alpha, beta or omega, the KoF offers knighthood to those who are worthy of it. This has led to the more conservative nations to view the KoF as 'weak' or even 'mistreating some secondary sexs'. Regardless of the criticism leveled at the, the KoF have been the valiant protectors of Mondstadt, led by an omega grandmaster. Mondstadt will continue to peruse the ideals of freedom and to do so means to allow people the freedom to choose how they express themselves.

Liyue

Liyue is a nation that is stricter in how its social roles for secondary sex. Liyue values alphas over betas and omegas, with alphas traditionally being the heir of the family lineage. This does not mean that omegas or betas experience less rights, but they do experience a lot of social pressure to be deferential to the alphas in their pack. Liyue expects alphas to be strong, wise and the bedrock of their packs. Traditionally, alphas are the ones in charge of business in Liyue, with it being seen as disingenuous to make deals through paper or wearing heavy perfumes to mask intentions because it means alphas have a harder time picking up on pheromones. It is often believed that alphas have the drive necessary for succeeding in business and are expected to have a quiet sense of dominance. Alphas and omegas are also seen as complementary, two parts of a whole that balance each other out. Betas are in an interesting place in Liyue, often see as a mix of the best parts of alphas and omegas. They are the middle ground, the basis for which omegas and alphas are brought together. When talking about monks and martial arts schools, there is often a preference for betas. This is because they don't have heats nor are sensitive to pheromones like alphas are. There is also the taught that being a beta helps one understand the spiritual world as they don't have to deal with as many material world distractions as alphas or omegas. This creates two different spheres of power in Liyue, the business sphere run by alphas and the martial sphere run by betas. In this way, alphas and betas can share being the 'leader' or having others be deferential to them.

Omegas are often seen as extensions of their pack, being traditionally trained to help with matters of business and managing the household. When trying to strike deals, bring an omega along is usually a sign of trust and good will with the added expectation for people to be on their best behavior around the omega. A slight against a pack's omega is a slight against the whole pack, so people must be mindful when interacting with omegas. Since they do not traditionally inherit, omegas often join the pack dynamic of whoever they partner with. It is culturally expected of them to take care of their partners family, with parents often worrying about making sure their omega children have partners that will support them well. That being said, business and the status and power associated with it in Liyue is not limited to just alphas. Omegas and betas also own businesses and are not forced to stay in their traditional roles. In practice omegas do inherit like betas and alphas do, it's just that the traditional modes of inheritance, which often influences business, have affected the culture around secondary sexs. Something to note about martial schools and clans within the context of packs. While a pack can be made from a martial school or a clan, one's pack does not mean you are a part of that clan or school. A clan can be one big pack, or a group of packs that are related to each other but separate.

Rex Lapis is often viewed as both an alpha and an omega, a mix between complementary elements. He fought in the archon wars, but he also created mora and passed on the methods that sustain the people of Liyue. He is sometimes referred to as an omega or as an alpha in stories based on if he is taking the role of a warrior or a role as a creator. This has also led to him being interpreted as a beta since he inhabits so many roles but also in particular stories where he is positioned as a wise sage. The adepti also tend to be assigned roles based on their behavior, though these labels are less fluid for them than Morax's are.

The trainers on the routes are actually posted there for a reason! So many kids take on gym challenges each year and often times the route they travel can be potentially dangerous. Whether its because of the wild Pokémon inhabiting it or because of the terrain itself. So trainers are able to take up community service positions called Route Guides! Route guides help watch over the trainers taking the challenge and will intervene if there’s any danger. They usually help guide people towards their next destination, help guide trainers who’s teams have fainted to the nearest pokecenter, or they’re just there to provide a challenge. The trainers are assigned based on skill level. You don’t have to be a battler to be a Route Guide! Lower level battlers are assigned to the easiest routes where the trails are well trodden and the Pokémon are accustomed to human presence and won’t bother anyone. The more experienced trainers are assigned to the tougher areas so they have a better chance of being effective help in a bad situation. Route Guides also make sure people are strong enough to pass through. Trainer wise, they’ll offer a battle and if you can beat them, you’ve proven you can handle the area! They’ll still keep an eye out for you, though. If you’re not a trainer and you’re just passing through, they’ll provide directions and help or in tougher areas, they’ll help guide you through! The reason some kids are Route Guides is bc its a community service position its an easy way to get hours for school or other activities, and it helps them gain experience in battling and in life!

But yeah I love this headcanon of mine SO much and for me it makes the Pokémon world so much more community-oriented which is what it rlly is in the first place, this just adds another layer to it!

Scholastic currently has five of the Thea Stilton series translated to English for us to consume, and that's 36 books in the main series, 19 books (on paper) in the Mouseford series, 9 special editions, the Treasure Seekers trilogy, and four Classic Tales. (The graphic novels were released by Papercutz, a company independent of Scholastic.) Now, if we're gonna tally up EdiPiemme's arsenal of Thea Stilton books (and I do mean arsenal), one thing you're gonna have to remember is that Thea Stilton itself is a franchise, not a series. Yes, the Thea Sisters are the spotlight in most of these, but there are some series that fall under the Thea Stilton franchise that are rather different and simply are an extension of the Geronimo Stilton Literary Universe.

5 Secret Diaries, just some extra content in the form of a diary all five girls share. Stuff about their lives you don't get to see in adventures that much, and it's cute :D

5 Secrets of the Thea Sisters -- i-it's just five kids' activity books but Thea Sister-themed and also some lore

3 books in Sirene, which is a fantasy thing where the Thea Sisters find a magic link in Whale Island that leads to a mermaid kingdom :D if you felt clickbaited by the special editions because they don't actually have the girls become fairies or something, then Sirene actually has them turn into mermaids for their time in the Cobalt Kingdom :D

23 books in Incanto-- it's a KoF spinoff that follows a group of KoF princesses and princes trying to save it from uh big baddies :D

3 books in Three Girls in the Court of King Arthur, once again another spinoff that circles around three lady knights in King Arthur's court hoping to save the world from Morgana and her mysterious Silent Knight

3 Adventures Through Time, yes the girls get to travel back in time, but it's more magic than science and there's an emphasis on some historical girlbosses

2 books in The Roses and the Spades, which is a sequel to TGitCoKA

1 SuperSisters book, which is basically a superhero book for the Thea Sisters so they can kick ass and stop having villains roll nat20s in intimidation--

2 Cases in Progress, an ongoing series where the girls are investigating some funky cases detected by an algorithm Paulina's invented that searches the internet space for funky anomalies and weird shnit to investigate

1 book in Spectralia, where three hooman girls get Jumanji-ed into a board game and they gotta Jumanji their way outa there, I only learned about this just now while doing research and it's an interesting premise :3c

And I think that's it? There's one choose-your-adventure type thing where you get to investigate with the girls on a case relating to a crown, but that's about it I think. I dunno, EdiPiemme and the Thea Sisters' blog's catalogues have been a mess since they updated the visuals on both, so I unfortunately can't say for sure if I got all of them or if I missed one because my original sources missed them, but eh.
