this is cover of knighfall tie-in novel.
but imagine, (since the initial plan was to write series of books like assassin creed):
knightfall books but make it several different editions - covers like one that exists but with either landry or gawain or tancred or any other character in same style on cover (but main trio is a must.)
it would be fun
It would be collectable
It would bring life and buzz to fandom by making people excited about merch and something different and new to talk about and post online
What a missed opportunity.
I would make edit but i am not very good at it so I am just proposing idea.

Babes, the storyline is great and all but please let’s take a moment to acknowledge and enjoy Season 2 and its hot beards.
Beautiful gifs!!! ❤️
Also, this line, man, makes you realize Landry is srsly an antihero.
Landry du Lauzon, traitor to France, murderer, heretic — I’m bringing you home. → knightfall 2x06 “blood drenched stone”

While rewatching old series
I'm rewatching season 1 of "Knightfall"...
And I still believe that these two had a thing going on much more interesting and tragic than Queen Joan and Landry.
I mean, just look at how they're looking at each other here. Particurarly, at William's eyes.
It's obvious that they loved each other. In a dark and very twisted way indeed. But they did love each other.
#knightfall#season 1#william de nogaret#princess Isabella#IsabellaxWilliam#omg the chemistry#the ANGST is litteraly killing me inside slowly#these two actors must absolutely work together again as a couple#and a happier and healthier one if possible#julian ovenden#sabrina bartlett

my main problem with lancelot-ing the plot of knightfall is that the invention of tragic and doomed love was not. exactly more interesting, in the long term, than the history itself. which is to say I dont think they should've followed history more, I think they should've gone absolutely buckwild with it. landry should've been fucking the king AND the queen, that way the historical accusations of homosexuality and debauchery that philip levels the templar order with hit that much harder AND foreshadows the succession crisis/conflict that kickstarts the hundred years war. tancrede should've quit the order to raise landry's baby and achieved rhetorical religious androgyny. I'm going to medieval gender discourse your character so hard. lets do a whole apostasy arc. let's discuss what it means to renounce your vows for a higher calling, and what it does to the body when you renounce those vows.
#something else about breaking the rules. the templars had extremely strict rules about women so fucking the king AND queen. hm.#perhaps you are the thing decaying your order. how dare you think yourself fit to be a part of it!!#(on account of it being a militaristic-monastic order it was already rotting from the start etc.)

Tom Cullen in Knightfall (2017) You'd Know What to Do
S1E1
Accra has fallen, the Holy Grail is lost deep in the sea. At the same time the grand master Templar is slaughtered and the plot is starting a by letting Landry not knowing what to do...
*Isabella ,Queen Joan and King Philip's daughter mentions that wants "to marry prince Lluís, heir of the Kingdom of Catalonia". The Kingdom of Catalonia has never existed. They were referring to the Kingdom of Aragon, or more probably to the "Crown of Aragon" which includes the Kingdom of Aragon, the Kingdom of Valencia and also the County of Barcelona,

hidden one initiate leofrith who is freshly arrived in ravensthorpe after having just had his entire life's purpose ripped away from him via a horrible betrayal vs. fully-fledged hidden one leofrith who is thriving and has finally washed the blood off and moisturized and exfoliated and has a found family who loves him. btw.
hidden one leofrith. you agree.
#landry as played by tom cullen in netflix's awful show knightfall you will always be a leofrith fc. to me.#i don't make a habit of watching things purely because someone reminds me of a blorbo but this show has no other value to me i'm sad to say#it is objectively bad the writing is awful the actors are trying their best#i do recognize the irony in this character being a templar#but i do not have it in me right now to hastily photoshop away the templar cross from this man's robes#so you're gonna have to trust me on this one#trust in my vision <3#leofrith#ky posts text#ac.txt

hi could you do “Please don’t hurt me.” From the list? I saw you watched knightfall it’s my favorite show! So maybe that one? Thx☺️
Please don’t hurt me.
Hope was a powerful thing, and you had a lot of it.
Hope that your father would be safe, wherever he happened to be.
Hope that your baby sister would remain hidden, and you would one day be able to hold her.
And hope, most of all, that Philip’s opinion of you was not so drastically changed that he would send one of his soldiers into the room to kill you next. In all honesty, deep down, you didn’t believe he would, but the king was different now. He saw your father as the evilest of men. He saw your new sister as the spawn of evil, and Joan as a cheat and a liar. And he saw you...
You swallowed and sat on the edge of the bed, staring at the floor. You weren’t sure what he saw you as. Not anymore. Months ago, you knew he considered you a friend, a daughter, even. You had weekly sparring sessions and he always threw you a wink when he saw you in the crowd. Landry would have trusted him to watch over you with his life, and now, you felt as though every creak in the corridor, every inexplainable sound, would be the last thing you’d hear.
Deep, deep down you knew you were safe. You simply happened to have been in the castle while your father was fighting Philip on the battlefield. When the king had returned, anger bristling in his eyes like a raging fire, and ordered guards to watch you, you hadn’t known what to think. Landry hadn’t told you about Joan and the baby, after all, until the day he had headed out to find them, the last day you’d seen him. Even then, it’d been a disappointing revelation, something quickly uttered as though he felt terrible that he hadn’t told you before.
You’d been as in the dark as Philip. Which was exactly what you’d told him when he’d questioned you later.
“I didn’t know.”
“How can I believe you aren’t just covering up for your father?”
“What would that prove? You already clearly hate him.”
He’d left after that, keeping you confined to a guest room for the rest of the day, and you’d quietly cried yourself to sleep that night, knowing there were men on the other side of your door and probably beneath the window too. As though you would ever think about jumping down four storeys.
It’d been some time since then, though you couldn’t say how long for sure. Philip had kept you at his side always, and you knew without anyone saying that you were some sort of leverage for Landry. If your father didn’t surrender soon, you’d be used. You didn’t know how, but that was the only plausible reason you hadn’t already been thrown from the castle.
If Philip truly did despise you, he wasn’t open about it. He hardly spoke to you anymore, but he didn’t mistreat you. Isabella tried her best, thankfully capable of differentiating Landry’s mistakes and his daughter’s, but the mood of the castle had changed since Joan’s death. And Louis… you had hoped the prince would see some sort of sense, but he’d been blind with fury since his return home. He’d played with you in the courtyard a couple times when you’d been a child, ever the doting older brother to the younger siblings who’d never seemed as interested in games. But now, he’d hardly spared you a glance, as though you’d had sex with Joan, as though you’d conceived a child with the Queen of France and then murdered her promptly afterwards.
He instead directed his sudden homicidal attributes towards the babies his father had told him to find. Philip wouldn’t have been capable of such a thing months ago. Of that you would bet your life. But he had changed. He had painted Landry as a traitor and the murderer of the queen. You hadn’t known of your father’s affair, yes, but you were quite certain he would never kill the woman he loved. You weren’t sure if Philip was using that to his advantage and attempting to turn you against your father. He clearly misunderstood your relationship with Landry, if that were the case.
You heard a noise outside the room—you couldn’t call it your room and you never would—and instinctively grabbed fistfuls of the blanket beneath you, subconsciously holding your breath. Your eyes locked on the door, and you considered the window. Perhaps it wouldn’t be so far down, after all.
The door opened. You stood quickly to your feet, taking a step back before Philip’s face even appeared in the doorway. He paused for a moment to look at you, an impassiveness in his expression that had become common as of late, then turned to shut the door behind him.
You weren’t sure what to do, so you stayed still, your eyes never once leaving him. “Please don’t hurt me,” you repeated in your head like a mantra, finding yourself glancing at his sides for any possible weapon—concealed or otherwise—in his hands or on his clothes. Seeing nothing visible, you looked up again, steeling your expression as much as you could.
Philip frowned, staring at you inquisitively with a slightly dipped head. Then, he seemed to come to some realisation, and he let his brows furrow in surprise. “By God, Y/N,” he said, “do you think I’ve come to kill you?”
You did not let his shock sway you. “Have you?” you asked.
The king shook his head to himself and took a step forward, stopping when you took one back and hit the wall. “You shouldn’t require my answer to that.”
“Why not?” You swallowed back your fear, ignoring the racing of your heart. “Why shouldn’t I? Do you not believe yourself capable of killing me? Just like those baby girls? Perhaps... perhaps you should tell Louis to do it. Or one of your men.” Tears pricked your eyes and you took in a shuddery breath, slightly amazed with your confidence that had deflated so suddenly now.
“I understand you are angry,” he started, “but watch your tone when you speak to your king, Y/N.” His own tone was low. It held a warning. And you listened, ducking your head and catching your tongue between your teeth. If you were anyone else, your head would be on the floor. Though you supposed there was still time.
“You did not eat much today,” Philip spoke again after a short while of silence, his words slow and pronounced as he finally moved towards you. “I was worried.”
You barely refrained from scoffing, knowing after his previous threat—no, warning—it would do more harm than good. Instead, you clenched your fists at your side. “I didn’t feel like eating.”
He nodded. “Alright.”
It could have ended with that. Philip looked as though there was more he wished to say, but he hesitated, so it could have ended with that. He could have turned and walked away, restoring the guards to their position by your door, and you wouldn’t speak again until the usual formality greetings in the morning. But you couldn’t help yourself. You had lost silent tears in the lone hours of evenings after spending the day worrying for your father’s safety, and in early mornings, readying for everything ahead. You didn’t think you’d ever cried in front of the king, and yet here you were, in the most inconvenient of times, suddenly sobbing into your hands.
You felt a hand on your shoulder not a second later and tensed immediately. The hand didn’t remove itself, if anything it tightened, and pulled you gently over to the bed.
“Lie down,” Philip instructed, so soft you wondered if it were even still him. You did as you were told, not simply because you were afraid of the repercussions should you not, but because your exhaustion was beginning to catch up to you, and your eyes ached with a foreign tiredness you wished to unload.
Philip waited as you lay back against the pillows of, red eyes, glistening with tears, refusing to look straight at him. He sat himself at the edge, much as he had done with Isabella when she was a child—now, she deemed herself too old for such coddling, despite not being much older than you, but he figured there was an aspect to that which consisted of the difference between a royal and a commoner.
He pulled the silk sheets up to your chin, letting his hands linger there for a moment as he remembered your birthday some months ago. He’d bought you a silver necklace, embossed with a pearl of France, and he’d noticed it around your neck every day since, tucked just beneath the collar of your tunic. He couldn’t see it now and wondered where it was.
Probably at home. Your real home with the Templars. The one he’d taken from you.
“You hate me.” He said the words without thinking about them, though once they were spoken he didn’t regret them. Your eyes flicked to meet his, as though he’d finally said the words your mind had been screaming at you to admit.
You swallowed, blinking slowly, then, “Do you blame me?”
Did he blame you? Surprisingly, he never had. For anything. His fury had been—still was—immeasurable, and he knew he’d frightened you when he’d asked whether you’d known about his wife’s affair with your father, but he’d believed you the moment your answer had come from your lips, despite his voice betraying that. He wasn’t sure why he kept you close by, with guards on the door. For your protection? From whom? Did he think Landry would steal into the castle one night and try to get you back? Perhaps. Perhaps Philip wanted you as a reminder of his old life.
Part of him knew it was unfair, the other part didn’t care. And it frightened him.
He withdrew his hand and rested it on his knee. “No,” he said quietly. “I don’t.”
“My father is not a murderer.” You’d said those without thinking about them, too.
Philip’s gaze hardened. Of course it did. “You were not there.”
“I didn’t have to be,” you choked out, collecting yourself immediately after. There was a determination in your eyes, one that told Philip you would never back away from who you were, who your father was. And, really, he couldn’t be surprised.
“You’re tired.”
“I hate you.”
“Get some sleep.” He stood up, intending on leaving without another word. You were obviously drained, and if he stayed any longer, you would say something you may not regret, but he would so hate to hear from your mouth. Selfishness, really. It was also selfishness which caused him to stop with his back to you and consider possible words.
“Despite what I do... everything I have done... I do love you, Y/N,” he said quietly.
And then he left.

Tancrede de Hautville imagine (special guest: louis x)
This one is for my fellow knight @lllostgirlll
You can find this imagine and lot more in my book of Imagines that is being filled continuously by new stories.
Hope you enjoy!
From smoke and remains of Acre, Rashid has saved y/n. Again.
Tancrede told her to run, but she wouldn't leave her friends to perish in cries that started from the ramparts. Only solace he found in days and months that followed, was Rashid's promise from that night when he came to warn them, that he will track her down and make sure to keep little rascal out of bloodbath way. Even though, both men knew, it was more likely y/n will be saving one of them than vice verse. But Tancrede had to do something before everything was lost. He held onto echo of imagined answer to his prayer, that she found tunnels and reunited with brotherhood of light that was waiting on the other side. Sometimes he thought all he brings is darkness.
He killed Nassir when he couldn't tell him if you are with them in Paris nor where you are, and started going on instead about ultimate downfall. It was stupid and careless thing to do, but he didn't want to risk your name finding way to streets of Paris. Mention of doom that's waiting for them, was like echo back from acre, you were doomed as long as he is around. Why couldn't you just ran off anywhere else, why did you tie yourself to grail? He cursed and spitted on rules that didn't allow women to be part of order.
Y/n was born in Outremer and quickly became entangled in web of deceit and power hunger. Rashid was first to notice her talent, and offered to horn her skills for greater purpose. But he didn't know the whole depth of her involvement with Christian knights. He knew she and Landry struck an alliance before brotherhood revealed itself to templars, offence otherwise punishable by death, if it didn't prove to be so lucrative. Exchange of information, assistance in action, dividing the spoils, bonded by secrecy of truth neither really understood without the other. You were link between two pillars that held east together. And yet somehow, by virtue of survival on your own, you belonged to neither. Rashid had soft spot for you since you joined as orphan, but you were wild untamed thing that only wanted one special templar to be king of your heart. It was holy grail you weren't trading.
Y/n sneaked into castle grounds with golden trio, the gang back together at last just like in golden days of mischief, following Landry's mad dash for one last rush of adrenaline as he settles Paris' debts once and for all.
But soon it became apparent y/n is chasing her own agenda.
She didn't need them, she could deal with it on her own, and was already dashing down corridors, when Tancrede caught up with her, grabbed her by forearm pulling her back to look at him. "Are you mad? This place is swarmed with king's knights. They will have you served as roasted dessert before you realize you are dead." Just then four knights passed and Tancrede pulled you with him behind wall. "You aren't doing it on your own. We aren't separating again." He whispered shouted.
Gawain added as he moved forward when he made sure air is clear. "Landry boy wouldn't appreciate losing his ranks." Short lived discussion was over for him, his mind was made up without it. He is willing to indulge all the wishes just to be out of here as soon as possible.
"Glad to see you alive. Knew you would make it" Tancrede said with smirk.
Now that he finally found her (when he was taken by Rashid, who had penchant for drama so it wasn't far fetch in imagination to think he orchestrated whole thing just to witness happy reunion), they were running in exile again. But this time together; last time the doom fell on them, everything was no man's land except love they saved for each other.
"Not thanks to you"
"You didn't need to save me" Tancrede still believed he would get out of rashid's game, if it wasnt for help from within.
"We can settle it buddy. Right now." y/n says turning form wall they were hiding behind and toward Tancrede in what looked like challange on a fight. if anyone saw them, two bickering behind back of third who is crouching keeping guard spying the hallways trying to figure out next move, while hushing other two with agitated hand movements that are being ignored, one wouldn't need more proof to assume Order is truly dissolved duo to madness that poisoned their ranks. It's easy to understand why superstitious propaganda could lit a zealous pier in absences of context.
Tancrede and you fell in bickering teasing that had been turning bitter since you saved him from Rashid and wounded his pride of taking care of everything on his own, which in return made him insufferable prat, specially because he didn't understand what you weren't saying: you did it not out of doubt for his knightly skill but rather out of knowing Rashid too good and knowing very well that pothead needs reasoning every once in a while. Moreover when he is faced with man who kills to save your name. Like you can't protect yourself. Just because their Rules were devoid of belief in women strength, is didn't mean you weren't worthy of knight title.
Papa Gawain grumpy old cat tired and irritated, down to last morsel of every everything, tired of you two, poor man just wanted some break, had to put a stop to this before yet another Landry's 'great idea' is jeopardized and they are sent back to piers.
'Stop it you two, will you?' he hissed.
Just then lone hooded figure came their way and abruptly stopped in it's tracks. "What-"
y/n had knife to his throat in blink of an eye.
Tancrede rolled his eyes. "no. just no."
"Gawain, i see you brought your friends" Garry didn't even tremble. it was almost like he was ready for anything. perhaps previous confrontation with Phillip gave him boost of bravery. Standing up for yourself, letting go of pretense, they say does miracles to people.
Gawain came closer, sighing heavily "Where is louis?"
Suddenly y/n ran off down the corridor, embers of light gliding down her cloak as she passed torches.
With a nod to each other of approvement, Tancrede moved out of the way so Gawain could strike old sly with hilt of a sword, making him pass out so they could finally get going. Knight couldn't find it in himself to kill yet another person. Besides if Landry does his part, and from what they heard that went down in court room, they have chance of being far away before Garry reunites with a new ruler. Calling de Nogaret by sobriquet y/n gave him, was another sign he was again falling under influence of his old ally.
'Hurry' Gawain called out as they chased after y/n
In Louis room y/n and young king were having a duel. Moon casted whole room blue, shadows slithering around them like even night knows it's dawn of time.
"Give me back what's mine and I might let this damned country still be a monarchy" y/n demanded with patience running out, as she held sword point at velvet chest.
"if you kill me, someone else will come. it's never going to stop." Louis said like it humored him to be a prophet, like he is talking from brick of hopelessness where man has nothing to lose anymore. His dopey eyes reflecting the blade coming up his throat. His face ashen, but eyes full of manic understanding he was challenging his little spy to disapprove. "Do people always have such pleasure doing business with you?' he said sarcastically.
He backed y/n off aiming for her ribs but y/n caught his sword with hers and deflated the attack. Clash of metal ringing through dance for destinies.
"Tell me where is it! We had a deal! y/n throws Louis off balance and he falls on his bed.
"Why is it so important? It's just a necklace. Oh let me guess. It will pay the way." he snickers tiredly. In death of your world, everyone's can go to waste too. "You cant save them. they are all dead man." he says darkly.
He stays there staring at pattern on duvet transfixed or lost in day's events taking toll on his young mind that can only take so much, and y/n uses the chance to stalk across the room and go through his drawers.
Louis reaches in pocket of his pants looking like he will exhale last pieces of his defeated soul. when he brings it out, y/n nudges aside his sword that was laying on the floor where he dropped it, coming closer.
"I should feel gratitude," he says dangling the chain from his fingers. "But i feel nothing."
The boy smiles, girl snatches the necklace keeping eyes on his, consumed by sudden urge to tuck piece of hair away from his face just to give him some warmth in return but she knew he is wounded wolf who will consolidate his reign again, and pain will stay with the night in which she has to disappear as well as any trace of their business affair.
And that's how kings die, y/n thought. Teach them they can have anything, then teach them they have no power to save the only thing they really want.
Aren't they all just Achilles in different time?
His voice is haunting lullaby cautionary tale of prince who had to lose to gain, bitter wisdom, why is there price for everything?
"There is no way out. you wont make it. You can run but you wont outrun yourself."
Y/n picked up his sword and layed it next to him on bed, but he didn't even move or gave signs he even registered, then joined others.
'Let's go" y/n urged them as darkness filled castle.
They reunited with Landry on the dock and y/n wondered if he found absolution he was looking for. Everyone knew Landry playing saint, putting everyone in danger to settle exuberant price for love affair, wont stop further persecutions, but they didn't stop him when he jumped off the ship and ran back into night that is alive with claws and swords. Gawain cursed as they tied the boat, someone asked if they should send quick prayer to find it again, but time was slipping away too fast and their friend was chasing trouble and they were chasing after him to cover his trace to jump in if he misses a pair of hands or a blade and it all felt for less than a moment because time is not theirs anymore, like they were back in East, surviving in unlikely alliance, still heroes of their story.
Tancrede gave her that necklace back in Acre. It was token of friendship and love and honest faith in better world. Y/n used it as secret compartment to get a message to Louis about his love. She thought it served its purpose almost like it was meant to serve as container of hope in grim world of politics and war.
Louis was right.
She didn't feel accomplished for telling him where Margaret was. Just emptiness of every soul she failed to save, all the ghosts traded for freedom.
Once on deck, warm hand on her back promised there is a way to live with shadows. His hand found hers under cloak. three squeezes. Like in old time. She looked up and he was giving her his most ardent loyalty from storms raging in his depths.
"I didn't mean-" he started
"I should have left you to rot."
"Maybe. Maybe i deserved it." He will never forgive himself for leaving her behind. Even if he knew she would never run away from danger. Fighting together in acre, until battle divided them and he lost sight of his heart; everything set in motion too fast: extracting the grail boarding the ship, eaten to death by grief of not being more persuading more valorous when it comes to standing up for things that really mattered to him. But deep down he knew, acre was y/n's home and she would find a way to make it out alive from every hell. He knew there was side of whole grail mystery that dwelled just out of peripheral in fata morgana they will never come to fathom as anything more than scorching ordeal, but he hoped all along, it will serve its purpose to save life of it's protector. Are we born with grief, or we wake it up with actions that shake the grounds of innocence?
"I should have saved her" she could have got Margaret out if only she wasn't so set on saving already damned knights.
"We all should have been better."
He kissed crown of her head and she closed her eyes as his beard tickled her cheek and whisper warmed her insides as it found way to her heart. "but you are one thing i have no regrets about."
As laundry and gawain managed the sails, y/n looked back one last time toward Paris in heavy fog of change. Nothing will be same from tomorrow. History in making, will we be remembered or all the secrets we keep will take us with them, was it worth it all the secrecy if end finds you either way whether you leave legacy or die in stables looking for revange on your dead lover's murderer? Will someone else carry it out on your behalf when you aren't around anymore?
Y/n thanked louis in her mind for keeping his part of bargain and clearing the posts of prying eyes. They sailed into the night unnoticed, gone from history book pages, it was only beginning of yet another adventure.
Locket safe under tunic. Heart heavy but in arms that loved.
Y/n are running away with the remnants of the greatest.
They didn't know where their ship was bobbing but it was carried by unanimous hope of sailing into the port of some new sunsets that won't pull them apart again. If nothing, they will build one themselves.

Crossover n°28: Peter and Edmund Pevensie (Narnia), Arthur Pendragon (Merlin BBC), Jon Snow (GOT) & Sir Landry du Lauzon (Knightfall)
Imagine those brave knights meeting on a tournament.
Peter (smiling): Well, that’s a huge celebration. What do you think?
Edmund (shrugging): Oh, for me, it seems the same. A huge bunch of jerks hanging around!
Arthur (amused): Be careful, Prince Edmund! You’ll offend the other guests.
Jon (serious): The son of Pendragon is right, young Pevensie. Those people are honorable and brave.
Landry (ironic): Oh, I hope they share your ideal of honor. Otherwise, you’ll be disappointed, Jon Snow.

I finally got around to watching Knightfall season 2 so under the cut are my reactions because holy shit this season
I didn't like Louis, then I liked him, then I didn't like him, then I loved him
The threats to his father while being ambiguous enough were beautiful
I also like his hair?
And the fact that he only cauterized the exit bit for the arrow, not the back. So he probably has internal bleeding and a hole in his back
He said that he'd killed Landry's son but later on Landry was like "my daughter" so.....
My heart broke when he found Margaret in the tower - he genuinely loved her and when he went to Philip like "you killed the two women I loved" I was screaming
I fricken loved Talus and wanted to see more of him. He was amazing
and what Luke Skywalker should have been ngl
I want to know what happened to him? Is he just wandering around Paris calling people pissants? Did he leave with the others?
I'm happy Tancrede died with Anne - I was worried through the entire season that it would be either one of them dying and having to face life without the other but I did like that they both got a chance to admit their feelings for each other and die together.
Tancrede saying "I love you Anne" while on the pyre broke me
I still love his accent
That reminds me - they're all in France and French, right? But the whiplash I get when they say someone's name or a place and it's the only bit of the sentence that has a vague French accent to it is something else
Landry has a hero complex and he's not my favourite character by any means, but I wanted to see him survive for his daughter and to smack Philip and Louis.
We had some problems with the fact they left it so late to get their shields up when there was arrows being fired at them, and the fact the men in the temple courtyard were spaced so far apart and not hugging the walls so they couldn't get shot
Also how the injuries don't really seem to matter. Like Louis got skewered, Landry got skewered ....
De Nogaret deserves some therapy
Along with Louis
but we need to get De Nogaret some first I think. He watched his parents burn, then had to burn people?
But the "As you said, I am worthless. The King is dead - long live the king" line was badass from him and I support him 100% in leaving Philip to die by Landry's hand
