What are Unholyc's
This was brought to my attention cause I saw this post by the @thrones-of-buer
Now, Spoilers for Love Unholyc.
Unholyc's are:
Unholyc are the descendants of Asmodeus, an ancient demon king of lust that descended upon this land a long time ago.
Apparently, he fell in love with humans and gave birth to the first generation of Unholycs. They resemble Asmodeus in that they have the ability to charm and seduce others while being able to use powers like most devils.
In Love Unholyc (PrettyBusy)
Story:
The player is named Mir by default. Though an Unholyc, she isn't interested in anything other than games and isn't able to fully control her charm ability. However, she is always extremely happy and active. Her coming of age ceremony is approaching and she might become a decent Unholyc after that. (…Maybe?)
Mir lives alone with her butler, William, who takes care of everything in the house and is very devoted, despite his aggressive personality. We are hinted that she is from a great Unholyc lineage but isn't conscious of it.
To get successfully past her coming of age ceremony, she needs a lot of acme, vital energy she can get from a contract with another being. Following the instructions of a letter she received from a very prominent Unholyc, she goes to a tailor shop where she meets three very handsome men with an aura resembling an Unholyc.
She accidentally starts the contract ritual. Though she discovers that they are humans, they all agree on the contact anyway.
The whole story revolves around Mir/MC getting through the seven days to complete her coming-of-age ritual to become a full pledged Unholyc.
In Season 1 of the game Mir/MC is focus on growing her connection with the three main Love interests Jung Hi, Sol, and Leo.
Tumblr media
(Using this cause I like their season 2 sprites much better then their season 1's sprites)
Through out the week, you will choice dialog with some are specific for a love interest. Beware there are comedic/bad endings in the game if you don't get Affinity(Relationship) Levels.
But on the seventh day, base on you're choses. The Li who has most affinity will be your main route in season 2.
However Season 1 ended with Eater (The main threat and you're other love interest for season 3) killing the three Lis and William (Your Butler/other love interest for season 3) use his ability to manipulate time, restarting the week.
And that where we start with Season 2, Mir/MC going back to Ripeato where she meets the three again, they remember what happened and promise to not let what happened on the seventh day again and promise to protect Mir/MC.
Unholyc's Ability
It seems that base on both games, Unholycs and Devils have specific ability.
In WHB each devils have a specific talent/ability and some like healer class would be affiliated to a certain region.
In LU, William has the ability to manipulate time how ever what happened with S1, his paid the price and his body reverted back into-
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Anywho
Tumblr media
There is a character named Pierce who has the ability into the future.
Tumblr media
Eater has the ability to eat other Unholycs and take their abilities.
There are three others, Zenon, Shallote, and James Roger but I can't remember what their abilities are.
Can a human be an Unholyc?
The answer is yes... Though...
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
I want to mention cause my possible theory of Minhyeok doing this ritual and becomes an Unholyc lol.
There also this.
Tumblr media
What William is talking about here, happened. This was Sol's Dark/Bad ending.
Tumblr media
*I still what to see a DLC for each of the bad endings*
Connection to What in "Hell" is bad?
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
And that's it.
Hope this helps y'all :D

Gatecrashers
Help. I bet you smart sleuthers have already covered this topic somewhere around our Tumblr neighborhood, but per usual I'm late to the party. Will someone please help me better understand Sparry's so-called "visit" with the King because the photographs and timing just don't add up. Connecting the dots seems to reveal 2 rebellious overseas unroyals who were determined to show up at Clarence House with or without permission.
On Tuesday, I felt annoyed to see the Royal Family YouTube channel (unaffiliated w/the BRF) patched into a live stream outside of Buckingham Palace. I thought it was a ridiculous invasion of privacy. Now I understand that the King was previously scheduled to arrive at BP (late morning) and the media was waiting to capture the first photo of king Charles post -treatment.
It seems Charles & Camilla were on a tight schedule which could explain the early morning (or overnight) visit with Beatrice & Edo.
The British media obviously knew that Charles was expected at BP and yet they disregarded this important bit of information to focus on Sparry's PR talking points---- all the while these manipulative talking heads knew the King had a prior engagement in his diary.
Pressure Pressure Pressure is what The Meghans wickedly tried to apply to Charles & William. There was even a mention of an EMPTY Frogmore Cottage. How low can these 2 go?🤬
Perhaps Mr and Mrs Sparry informed the men in grey of their plans to gatecrash the king & queen's departure. "Coming with or without permission." This would also explain why they flooded the media with Sparry's intention to see his father "within the next 2 days" followed by that crystal clear photograph at LAX. Someone around our Tumblr community or perhaps on reddit shared a catchy manifesting term...I'm sorry I didn't write it down bc it perfectly describes how The Meghans use her sharp elbows to bully their way through life.
All of this MANIFESTING crap to manipulate a face to face meeting with Charles: a man reeling from a life threatening diagnosis, recovering from an invasive procedure, and preparing for some sort of systemic poison.
Have I mentioned that The Meghans SUCK at compassion!!!
Beatrice & Edo
Doesn't it seem likely that family members have been welcomed to Clarence House (post-diagnosis) to wish Charles well before his Sandringham retreat-----perhaps the beginning of holistic treatments or simply to recover from the 1st of several adjuvant treatments.
The couple seems dressed for an early morning visit with a family member, NOT an audience with the King of England.
Tumblr media
vs.
Sparry
Perhaps Sparry told the Palace "Me too! I'm coming to see my father too" and he was told "not this week," and MEgain responded "we'll see about that!"
I seem to remember Sparry had to be forced (by the Queen Elizabeth) to speak to his father and that meeting ended with shouting.
I also seem to remember Sparry had no time to give his family before or after His father's coronation.
As a courtesy, the men in grey delayed KC's departure & granted Sparry an audience with His Majesty the King, not a visit/block of time for a father-son brunch or lunch.
Sparry wearing all black upon his entrance to Clarence House but upon departure he's photographed wearing black and white, with a tie. Why didn't Sparry change clothes on the airplane?
Tumblr media Tumblr media
This publicity stunt was meant to bury the African Parks story and the story about the (mon)ARCHewell revolving door. The Meghans have proven to the family (yet again) that there is no bottom to their depravity.
It was also a test for His Majesty's government as they push for IPP status, a campaign for royal housing, and of course information gathering for blackmail.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Let's do the math:
An audience with a sovereign (or even a President) is only about 5-10 minutes plus or minus time for photographs.
Sparry arrived at Clarence House by 2:45pm. Charles & Camilla were in a vehicle by 3:30pm. Sparry (if the photo is current) changed into business attire while at Clarence House. How long was Sparry in the same room as Charles?
Have I mentioned that MEgain and Sparry are SCUM and so are the British talking heads who served as their mouthpieces!?!?!

character profile tag!
@the-golden-comet how did you know I needed to repopulate my characters tags <3 Thank you for the tag!
I know everyone here knows him, but let's do this for the protagonist of Doom Metal Love Story anyway.
Name: Cole Francis Sullivan
Nickname: First Sergeant (his rank), variations on his rank ("Top" is pretty funny); Kentucky (Hofer); angel/dear-heart/whatever the current hyperfixation is (Royston)
Kind of Being: Human
Age: variable (born 1835; story takes place 1872-74)
Sex: Male
Appearance: Average height and sturdily built, wearing the field uniform and calf-length boots he only took off to change into his parade dress every evening, Hofer knew who he was looking at before he saw the man's face. (Prologue, Hofer POV)
Until Sullivan sat up, unfurling as he prepared to ride into battle again. Glowing with life, invigorated, half-mad with knowing what he wanted, finally. Ambitious in the way of warrior-kings of old, invulnerable and ageless, lamplight catching the gold and the silver in his brown hair, his red beard aflame. That bayonet scar on his shoulder marking him as human. That bullet scar on the back of his calf. Royston could adore the man and not put him up among idols. Why make him an angel, or a god, or a star. There were so many already, hundreds and thousands and countless of all. There was only one him. (February 1873, Royston POV)
Occupation: First Sergeant in the United States Army Cavalry Division; fort sheriff of Fort Sarras, Kansas
Family members: William (father, deceased); Aileen O'Hare (mother.) Only child.
Pets: Molly, a 12-year-old Morgan horse
Best friend: Major Erik Hofer, Surgeon of Fort Sarras, Kansas; Royston will annoy the shit out of me if I don't acknowledge that he is Sullivan's lover.
Describe his/her room: In the Golden Ending, he sleeps in a barrack with the rest of the NCOs. Based on photographs I've found, it would appear he does not have a roommate. He has a bed, a bureau, a nightstand to put a lamp on, and a peg over his bed for his weapons (rifle, revolver, saber.) This is a fucking hotel compared to the Bad Ending, where he's in a barrack with three other people (Quartermaster Sergeant Harrelson, Hofer, and possibly Sergeant Miller? or else it was the sergeant who dies in the bombardment the weekend before Royston Kool-Aid Mans into Fort Cano.)
Way of speaking: No indoor voice. Direct -> firm -> blunt if you're really not listening to him. Polite, until you give him a reason not to be. Hiding an accent.
Physical characteristics (posture, gestures, attitude): Always at attention. Observant. Ready to react. Always carrying at least two weapons; is a weapon.
Royston wants everyone to know he "fills out that damned uniform."
Items in his/her back pocket/ purse:
HERE I'LL SHOW YOU
Tumblr media
(This guy's a private, don't even worry about it. He'd be carrying the same equipment and hey he has the same facial hair right on.)
Hobbies: Reading, playing chess, throwing darts.
Favorite sports: Bat-and-ball.
Abilities/Talents/Powers: Marksmanship mastery, horseback riding expertise, melee combat (saber specialization), leadership. Is the 10th Cavalry Regiment's filthy joke repository (he has a strong memory when it comes to dick jokes.)
He acquires additional, uh, "abilities" in Book 2 but that's a massive spoiler.
Relationships (how he/she is with other people): Preoccupied. Easy to lose touch with. Will go HAM on anything/anyone threatening someone he loves.
Fears: He just told me he doesn't much care for broccoli. When I asked him why he said the fact that it's shaped like a tree is disconcerting.
I understand.
Faults: He's stubborn. His refusal to follow orders that are counter to his own code of honor has cost him promotions. "HE ONLY EATS LIKE FIVE FOODS," Royston says.
Good points:
He may flinch, but he is brave.
He's a leader.
He's loyal (possibly to fault.)
He's physically and mentally strong.
"HIS ASS," Royston says. (Translation: He has a healthy sense of humor.)
What he/she wants more than anything else: To go to sleep at night knowing he did the best he could to protect his country and the people he loves; and, if is his time to die, for his death to not be in furtherance of an unjust cause.
Wait--
"Since he's wandered off and appears to no longer be listening... I want Arthur safe, and alive, and with me. Which I recognize is both a far more difficult condition to satisfy and antithetical to the previous answer."
HAPPY FRIDAY TAG LIST LET'S GO BAP BAP BAP
@lychhiker-writes @cowboybrunch @saturnine-saturneight @ashfordlabs @autism-purgatory
@noblebs @aintgonnatakethis @the-golden-comet @asablehart @mauvecatfic

Came across your Harry Potter alternative for adults. Do you you have any recommendations for kids?
The Bartimaeus sequence would be ok for older kids. There isn't much with the same potential for fandom. A lot of YA series are shorter and less well developed because publishers just wanted to blast them onto the market and get some of that sweet JKR money. That's why you get so many crappy cash grabs that devolve into brain melting nonsense after 2-3 books like the Michael Vey series, Gone, Maze Runner, and Lorien Legacies.
Here are some short series that aren't much like Harry Potter but that I liked as a kid around the same time I liked Harry Potter:
Percy Jackson (obviously. If any YA series could take on Harry Potter in terms of scope and fandom it's probably this one. Kid with ADHD discovers he's actually a demi-god and has to go on adventures and battle monsters. The series racks up a hugely diverse cast over time.)
Airborn (alternate history with airships and lots of steampunk adventuring, made me more interested in engineering and zoology, and the series has a satisfying ending.) Airman (just a single book sadly, which I liked even after I'd outgrown the Artemis Fowl books and gotten annoyed by them. Young kids might prefer Artemis Fowl.)
LionBoy (All I remember is t's about a kid who has asthma and can talk to lions, but I liked it a lot in middle school.)
Leviathan by Scott Westerfeld (similar vibes to Airborn but it's set in an alternate history of WW1, the books also have some truly awesome illustrations)
The Demon King by Cinda Williams Chima (high fantasy so it's no Harry Potter, but the main character is an urchin who becomes a wizard, so...) Her urban fantasy series The Warrior Heir is also good but pretty much revolves around human trafficking and an ancient blood feud.
Pendragon (eh... this one is borderline cash grab while still being fun. It's a good series overall but the conclusion is a little eh. Local high school boy discovers he can travel to alternate realities and is destined to fight a very evil villain who I always thought was cooler than Voldemort)
Inkheart (a personal fave I first read at 12 and still like to re-read at 30. Magic system is a little whack but the story does a great job of presenting truly evil villains through a lens of childhood.) Funke also has the new ongoing series, Mirrorworld, about a guy who travels through mirrors into a fairytale world, but that one's a little more mature.
The Knife of Never Letting Go (sci-fi, kind of like a cooler Avatar. Don't watch the movie. Very creatively written book with serious themes of imperialism, fascism, and misogyny—but in a way that kids can enjoy.)
Ranger's Apprentice (another kind of eh one in retrospect. Good for younger kids. Has some great characters but does devolve into a bit of a cash grab in later books. Harshest criticism is that the characters drink an unreasonable amount of coffee.)
I'll end on
City of Masks by Mary Hoffman (this one is a hidden gem. Urban fantasy but it's weirdly obsessed with Italian City-States. Long-ish series with a diverse cast and great recurring characters. It favors political intrigue over the magic system. Book 1 has themes of struggling with terminal illness and loss, but each book in the series introduces a new main character with a new personal struggle to overcome.)

Happy 42nd birthday to William, the Prince of Wales!
Born on June 21 1982, William Arthur Philip Louis is the heir apparent to the British throne as the the elder son of King Charles Ill and Diana, Princess of Wales.
Born in London, William was educated at Wetherby School, Ludgrove School and Eton College. He earned a Master of Arts degree in geography at the University of St Andrews where he met his future spouse, Catherine Middleton. William then trained at the Royal Military Academy Sandhurst prior to serving with the Blues and Royals. In April 2008, William graduated from Royal Air Force College Cranwell, joining the RAF Search and Rescue Force in early 2009. He served as a full-time pilot with the East Anglian Air Ambulance for two years, starting in July 2015.
William holds patronage with over 30 charitable and military organisations, including the Tusk Trust, Centrepoint, The Passage, Wales Air Ambulance and London's Air Ambulance Charity. He undertakes projects through The Royal Foundation, with his charity work revolving around mental health, conservation, and emergency workers. In December 2014, he founded the "United for Wildlife" initiative, which aims to reduce worldwide illegal wildlife trade. In October 2020, William announced the launch of the Earthshot Prize, a £50 million initiative to incentivise environmental solutions over the next decade.
William was made Duke of Cambridge prior to his wedding to Catherine Middleton in April 2011. He became Duke of Cornwall and Duke of Rothesay following his father's accession to the throne on 8 September 2022. The following day he was made Prince of Wales.
William proposed to Catherine Middleton with his mother's engagement ring while on holiday in Kenya; the engagement was announced on 16 November 2010. The wedding took place in Westminster Abbey on 29 April 2011. The couple has three children: Prince George (10), Princess Charlotte (9) and Prince Louis (6). The family currently resides in Adelaide Cottage, in Windsor.

I have no real interest in mods aside from somewhat following the Frontier mess, but when I found out that the fairly popular old New Vegas Bounties mods included incredibly blatant references to Judge Holden and Glanton from Blood Meridian, plus a character named "Javier Sugar" who speaks several lines lifted straight from No Country for Old Men, I wanted to find out how many references to other things pop up throughout the three mods. Turns out, a LOT.
I identified some of them myself, but eventually when I realized how much time it would take for me to watch a whole playthrough or try it out myself, I decided to look up the rest on TV Tropes and put them all together in a list.
The aforementioned Judge Holden knock-off is also said to be seven-feet tall and is a child predator (though only technically implied to be in Holden's case)
The character literally named Glanton runs a group who goes around killing "tribals"
There's a character named Cormac, as in Cormac McCarthy
During the scene with "Javier Sugar", in addition to all the NCFOM quotes there's also a random quote from the movie The Outlaw Josey Wales thrown in there... to spice things up? IDK, the quote is something like "Dyin' ain't no way of livin', boy"
A character called "Harmonica" references one of the main characters of Once Upon a Time in the West
The ghoul Doc Friday references the historical figure Doc Holiday, and his revolver the Huckleberry references the famous quote from his depiction in the movie Tombstone, "I could be your huckleberry"
Marko's outfit seems to reference the character Loco from the movie The Great Silence.
The Frosthill segment of III is also lifted from The Great Silence, what with its Utah setting during the winter, the main character getting shot through the hand, and bounty hunters pretty much kill the whole town.
Aaron Flagg the cult leader seems to be inspired by Randall Flagg the Stephen King villain
The sniper Charlie Halfcocked references the U.S. Marine sniper during Vietnam, Carlos Hathcock, the previous record holder for the most kills
Tom Quigley references the movie Quigley Down Under, the titular character being played by Tom Sellick.
Enclave members Quantrill and Onoda, who keep fighting despite the Enclave's repeated defeats, are named after Confederate guerilla William Quantrill and WWII Japanese soldier Hiroo Onoda, who did the same for their sides (okay, I thought that reference was pretty good)
Eileen the Fiend = serial killer Aileen Wuornos
Tony Idaho = Tony Montana from Scarface
Tommy the former Omerta enforcer who killed a made man references Tommy DeVito from Goodfellas
Alex and his gang in Freeside reference Alex DeLarge and his droogs from A Clockwork Orange
Freddie the ghoul = Freddy Krueger
Jack, former muscle for Heck Gunderson, references the villain Jack Wilson from Shane, his revolver is called "Shane's Bane"
Albert Quisling = Vidkun Quisling
Mario Barksdale = character from The Wire
Prometheus is named after the subtitle for Frankenstein: "The modern Prometheus", his Deathclaws are Mary and Shelley
Pancho Cortina = Pancho Villa
"Squirrelly" Bill Blasius references outlaw "Curly" Bill Brocius
Angel Lee is a combination of Angel Eyes from The Good, The Bad, and the Ugly, and the actor Lee Van Cleef
Godwin, who mails out bombs, probably references Unabomber
Joe Frost = Edward Snowden
Guys fighting over treasure named Clint and Tuco
Fiend chem lab has characters Walter and Pinkman, references Breaking Bad
John Ramsey's body is put on display with a quote referencing the movie Unforgiven, "This is what happens to assassins/rangers around here".
Those are the ones that I either caught myself or saw other people list, if there's more, go ahead and add on.
Some of the historical references are kinda funny, though others are either tasteless (Aileen Wuornos) or eye-roll worthy (Carlos Hathcock = Charlie Halfcocked, GEDDIT IT'S A GUN JOKE), and the majority of the pop culture references are so blatant and so numerous that it gets annoying.
If I made my own mod or anything else, of course I too would love to stick in a bunch of references to the things I love, though I would try to be less obvious about them, put different spins on them, you know? You can't really judge mods to the same standard as the source, and I would be more forgiving if the rest of the mods didn't look like such an edgy slog.

BBC Ghosts Season 2 : Life references
After months of putting it off, Season 2 is finally finished!
Episode 1 - The Grey Lady
Captain’s “For King and Country” is in reference to George VI
Thomas references Twelfth Night by William Shakespeare
Julian plays ping pong and says it takes him back to the David Lloyd in Chelsea
Julian spoils the World Cup quarterfinals for Pat, implying he watched it when alive
Mary was mostly illiterate
A 14th century grindstone is found in the cellar
Captain unsurprisingly mentions the war again
Julian thinks he can do an impression of Nelson Mandela
Thomas does an impression of an earl, but I couldn’t find anything on them so please excuse my lack of British know how
Fanny appears in photos
Julian didn’t believe in ghosts when he was alive
Pat lists his skills in life: knot-tying, tent-pitching, archery
Julian references Newsnight
Fanny has been to a sideshow
I’m assuming Pat and Julian are referencing Bruce Forsyth, which Julian has before
Not a life thing, but I find it interesting that both Robin and Captain have said ghosts can’t feel the cold, only for Captain to question it
Side note: Thomas’ cheese commercial made me hungry
Fanny’s dress is made of silk
I like to think Captain talking to Dante’s taxidermy means he likes dogs
Pat likes pop quizzes
Captain likes running, a no brainer
Captain remarks that he’s in his prime and that’s he’s still got it, implying that he at least believed he was in good health when alive
Episode 2 - About Last Night
Mick the plague ghost comes back the village they’ll eventually die in
Mick claims to have had an orange, have seen a bear kill a man, and met the king and went fishing
He brought salt and clothes for the other plague ghosts, which led to their deaths
Side note: Mick coughing up the blood was so scary to me, dying from a sickness
Thomas may be able to cook, since he says he wished he could make Alison breakfast - lamb’s kidney and onion- before being cut off. I wonder if Thomas learned or liked to cook
Thomas acknowledges he wasn’t formally invited to the party, a custom he’s used to
None of the surrounding villages were struck with plague
Captain asks to watch a war documentary while Pat wants to watch football
Julian believed that you should drink more alcohol when hung over
Mary offers a remedy: mushrooms soaked in goats milk and vinegar till it’s warm
Pat says that cola is good for a hang over
Side note again: Thomas is really sweet when he informs Alison of Dante’s disappearance, or the multiple times he’s wished to help her with things like cooking and cleaning. We love a helpful king
Fanny loved Dante like her own child according to Thomas, and she once told Julian she loved Dante more anything else in the world. If she did have kids, I wonder if the relationship was strained. Also, it’s such a notable fact that everyone knows it, including ghosts that weren’t around for Fanny’s life
I know he’s easily coerced into not doing it, but the fact that Captain wanted to tell Fanny immediately that Dante was missing is very sweet
Julian has extensive experience in public inquiries, specifically being the one getting asked the questions
Julian describes how it make an alcoholic drink to Alison
Kitty’s heard white wine helps with stains
Fanny is not fond of mice
Mary thinks Veronica, Clive and Annie are nice names. I won’t include Daniel because it was her having a close call with Daniel
Dante used to like sitting by the fire
Episode 3 - Redding Weddy
Captain’s soldiers at Button House were apparently prone to giggling and horseplay
Introduction of Captain’s Lieutenant, Havers
We see Captain being informed that France has surrendered, which occurred in June 1940
Captain requested a service revolver
Lieutenant Havers had an emergency lockdown initiated shortly after
Havers informs Captain he wants to be involved in fighting, and has put in a transfer for the North Africa front
Pat is, unsurprisingly, well versed in activity badges, and everyone else can recite them
Robin knows how to skin a mammoth
Julian, my dear, you are way off. It took Mary more than 300 years to talk about the witch trial if she did indeed die in the 1610s
Pat likes Top Gun
Julian references Chariots of Fire from 1981, Mississippi Burning from 1988 and The Towering Inferno from 1974
Little reference to the next episode when Thomas says he would show Julian his glove if he had one. Also, the wedding guy says the backyard looks like a bomb site, when it literally is one. Stuff like that make the show so much cooler
Julian used to do boxing for Cambridge
Pat says s'il vous plaît
Fanny and Kitty read Lady Chatterley’s Lover by D. H. Lawrence
Julian references the Suez crisis
Thomas references Jack and the Beanstalk
Pat calls the laptop the computer that folds
Pat was with Carol at her parents’ house when the moon landing happened, eating fish and chips and trying a jumbo battered sausage for the first time
Julian was a student at Cambridge when the moon landing happened and having his first threesome
Captain claims that his dog Barry is buried where the bomb is, which is obviously untrue, but he also says that where they buried their pets, plural. I like to think Cap’s soldiers had a few dogs about
Captain has a letter with William written on it, which he tucks into his clothes. Captain says he was just thinking about Havers, which would later link to how they both knew about operation William
Havers gets a new service revolver
Captain has poster in his office about men wanted in the army, and also a wall full of books
Captain and his soldiers played cricket
Julian references 9 1/2 weeks, a 1986 erotic movie
Thomas always chooses pistol
Julian sold 50 crates of AK-47 assault rifles to the Libyans in 1983 to pay for his orangery
Julian uses a grenade and a flamethrower on Thomas, I don’t know if his “I’m melting” line is meant to reference the Wizard of Oz or not
The statue outside, Florence, was one of Kitty’s best friends
Kitty’s sister would pretend to not be able to find her when playing hide and seek
Kitty once hid for a whole day and night, and got so hungry she had to eat a bit of her purse
I mean it’s just meant to look funny and be a reference but Julian can canonically spin a ball on one finger
Nobody has ever found Kitty during hide and seek
Nice canon Cap in a coat, love a bit of that
He also smokes, or at least fiddles the occasional pipe
Oh and he threw that envelope into the hole with the bomb
Captain buried a prototype limpet mine, which was so secret only he and Havers knew about it, along with the blueprints
Captain talks bomb mechanics with Robin, the cutest thing I’ve ever seen
Pat knows about 2001: A Space Odyssey
Robin thinks the earth is flat
There’s a bit of speculation here: I can’t actually say with absolute certainty that Captain really saw Havers go. Maybe it’s wishful thinking that Havers would turn back and salute one last time, maybe it did happen, maybe it didn’t
Episode 4 - The Thomas Thorne Affair
Robin would wear a space suit, Mary a seashell dress, Tom double denim with aviators, Julian misses pants, Pat’s wearing his lovely gist, Kitty wears the same as Alison, and Captain would wear his uniform
Julian is unsurprisingly well versed in political tactics like the spin
Captain identifies a musket ball
It’s the one that made Thomas very dead
This is another thing I’m uncertain about: whether Thomas feels pain or just does it for dramatic affect
Quick side note before sad Thomas lore, I think I forgot to mention last time that Julian mentioned Great Expectations
Thomas died October 10th, 1824
Thomas came to Button House when it was owned by the Highams’, Thomas and Francis were invited
They can both ride horses
Thomas had stated the house was pleasant to look at, but he wouldn’t want to live there (rippppp)
Thomas was in love with Isabelle Higham
Thomas wrote a poem called Hermione and Roger and recited in front of everyone ( turns out he always sucked, but his poetry didn’t really sound that bad to me in this episode )
Isabelle played the harpsichord
I always wonder during this episode how Thomas remembers his death so wrongly, whether he’s lying about it or simply so horrified he forgot I don’t know
Even so, I think Thomas genuinely was in love and didn’t misinterpret as much before Isabelle
Thomas challenged some guy to a duel, we love a gun brandishing king
Francis is a bitch- anyway back to Thomas
Thomas went twenty paces instead of ten, should’ve listened to ten duel commandments Thomas
The first animation with the spinning paper thing was shown
Monster munch, no words
Julian with his bloody playboy magazine, I’m not surprised
First mention of Annie, Mary’s bestie
Humphrey is such a lovely soul, learning to admire the little things like shoes
Okay wait, Alison says “you’ve literally got forever” which parallels Captain’s “we’ve got forever”
HOLD UP THAT DUEL GUY WAS INSULTING MARY SHELLEY
HOW DARE HE
Thomas shot a bird and apologised before he died
Isabelle never came to see Thomas before he passed, he was left alone to die
Julian cried at Thomas’ death
Francis rigged the whole thing to trick Thomas and Isabelle in order to get Higham House
Francis and Isabelle’s son was George’s grandfather
Everyone is related through Robin and his sister
Poor Tom, you stay how you die and that letter isn’t going anywhere
Episode 5 - Bump in the Night
Cap likes to count with Humphrey’s hands
Captain tells Alison of life from the knees “Trust me, you don’t want a hernia” either he had one or knew someone who did
Humphrey knows that hedgehogs will leave flees in the rug
Also Captain and Humphrey’s exchange “Pick me up at six. Literally” “Very good” is so cute
Fanny references oyster forks
She assumes they’re eating oysters at the wedding
Julian sings “I’ll make love to you” by Boyz II Men
Humphrey on guard is cute
Captain does his own little vocalisation of what I’m assuming is a long way to Tipperary
Kitty assumes the intruders are there for a masked ball
Julian references the Bramptons and assumes it’s insurance fraud
Captain knows it’s a burglary
Pat tries to put them under a citizens arrest, so cute
Pat references Borstal
Alison taught Kitty acronyms - Richard Of York Gave Battle In Vain
Captain calls the police the constabulary
“Burglary in process”
Captain - “why is no one ever alive when you need them?” Very telling, Cap
Julian gets worried Margaret Thatcher is dead. Too late Julian
Fanny admires the brushwork of her portrait
Cap and Pat watched Star Wars
Julian worries about getting RSI
Pat, Cap and Julian know Morse code
Julian lobbied against an animal welfare bill
Robin always gets excited by fire
Captain says he could have Robin shot off desertion, scaring Thomas
Alison meets a ghost who died hitchhiking. I find that to be an interesting concept, as the ghost is more based on the archetype. Makes me think about if Robin’s ability or character was created first
Robin howls for the dogs
Uh, Pat talks about drugs going in unsavoury places
Fanny would make a good criminal
Captain says he fought in an actual battle, it’s difficult to hear but it’s there
Julian loves a good sauna
Episode 6 - Perfect Day
Mary believes that bad weather means bad tidings for the wedding
Fanny believes marriages should be at churches
Pat’s wedding day was the best day of his life, Carol wore velvet and he wore a brown three piece
Julian was drunk on his wedding day
Fanny’s wedding day was at Winchester Cathedral and she was given away by the Marquis of Granby
Robin had at least thirty children
Kitty can throw up, and had food in her stomach when she died
Robin says that’s never happened before
Captain is very good at decorating, no surprise
Pat recognises the kid who killed him
Mary and her wedding superstitious
Both Pat and Julian talk about Dennis Waterman
Robin and Julian talk about Mick Hucknall
Kitty’s dress is burgundy
Captain has great fashion sense
Thomas references Whitechapel
You know, Thomas’ explanation of how Clare looked was pretty accurate, he’s quite aware of emotions
Fanny stops in front of George’s portrait, just an interesting detail
Fanny had high expectations placed on her since she was a child
Alison and Mike got married young
Alison had second thoughts on their wedding day
Mary had a husband, who was crushed underneath a plough three years after their marriage
The man Pat recognises is Keith Darren Dean
First time hearing about Humphrey’s marriage: it was arranged, they were both from noble families, he was fourteen she was twelve
They didn’t love each other, and Humphrey believed she didn’t like him, they couldn’t understand each other because she was French
Course later we find out she thought highly of him
Keith has guilt that has lasted decades, that sounds so painful
Fanny and Thomas exchange a look when she finally comes around to the wedding, it’s just so sweet I had to mention it
Keith remembers the knot tying Pat taught him
Episode 7 - The Ghost of Christmas
Julian is giving a speech for a bill at the start of the episode, referencing saying goodbye to Margot the day before
He refers to her as ‘this woman from my wedding’ and implies he’s about to sleep with another woman by the end of the scene
Nickname count: Dearest, darling and dear
The baby, Rachel, is heard crying on the phone
Margot asks when Julian is coming home, so he lies to her and says he won’t be back for days
Pat loves Christmas cooking, such a dear
Captain wishes he had a whiteboard
Julian points out the humbugs, and says he hates Christmas
Captain misses hearing the King’s speech on Christmas
Pat liked playing games with his nephew and his son, Daley
Games like Buckaroo, Boggle, Yahtzee and KerPlunk
Thomas misses the mistletoe, implying he’s been kissed before
Kitty used to open presents in the morning and then after lunch Eleanor would pick the ones she wanted
Mary says that some babies can see ghosts until they start walking
Julian is in the warmest room in the house due to his legs
Julian was in Brussels once at a strip club,  but he tells Margot he’s at a restaurant eating moules-frites and drinking a Sancerre
Margot seems at least skeptical of him
This is one of the Christmases he misses, the last four of his life that involve Rachel
Julian references the European Union
Fanny convinced Alison to follow the tradition of chopping a tree down and bringing it on for Christmas
Fanny planted at least fifty saplings in her time
It’s kind of funny that Julian is horrified by Mary getting naked
Thomas’ Christmas recital thing wasn’t that bad
From inference, it’s implied that Julian believes Margot wanted the baby, and that he had it thrust upon him
And if “I know, darling, I know” represents Margot, and Julian thinks that’s a reaction she would have, damn is that sad
She’s practically taking the blame for his misery
Julian would go for a drive if the baby got too irritating to him
It appears that out of the four Christmases away from Rachel,  one was to do oil deals, one was to be in Brussels, one at Colonel Gaddafi’s palace, and possibly another in Brussels
Pat loves Twister
Thomas and Cap have physical discipline
Pat would go to the shed to drink a Watney’s
Julian being considerate of Angela sleeping is either a new development, or something he was never pushed to do in life
The PC brigade may have interrogated Julian
Fanny seems to hold her Christmases in a high regard, despite George. Maybe it wasn’t always bad
Julian has kissed the wrong people under the mistletoe
Alison plays In the Bleak Midwinter on the piano
Rachel Fawcett is an MP for the Green Party, she’s a Major Leader of it

So, you wanna prep for Lostbelt 6 by reading a bunch of fairy lore for background information. Luckily for you, I’m a turbo nerd when it comes to this particular brand of folklore. In this post I’ll be compiling links to assorted text and audio sources of information and entertainment related to all the real-world fairy lore that pops up throughout the chapter. I’m gonna try to avoid just wikipedia links as much as possible, so some of the text sources are gonna be a little dense, but that’s ye olde texts for you. This will be semi-ongoing as things pop up, so you can keep an eye out if you want!
Note: I’ll try to keep the spoilers to a minimum, but there will be possible spoilers as to what’s in the chapter ahead, so watch out!
Without further ado, here’s the list under the cut:
HUGE MASSIVE CONTENT WARNING: Many of these texts are going to have adult themes and triggering content, particularly sexual assault, rape, and general non-consent in romantic or sexual relationships. I’m going to start including individual warnings for texts where I know it comes up, but even if I don’t note it, please proceed with caution and take care!
A Dictionary of Fairies: Hobgoblins, Brownies, Bogies, and Other Supernatural Creatures by Katharine Mary Briggs - Exactly what it sounds like on the tin. Here’s where you can read about all the different fairies and creatures that tend to be more in short folktales, from baobhan sith to barghests to Ainsel and beyond, all in alphabetical order. If you find a fairy name you want to look up, it’s probably going to be in here somewhere.
A Midsummer Night’s Dream by William Shakespeare - I mean c’mon man. C’mon. There could always be a first for someone though, so if you are that someone - this is the most famous work featuring Oberon the fairy king, and the big one that F/GO and basically all other post-Billy Shakes media works pulls from. If you’d rather watch a staging of the play instead of read a script, here are some performances by Rice University and the Palm Beach Shakespeare Festival, and if those two in particular aren’t your jam I guarantee you there’s going to be a staging somewhere you can watch. As a bonus, here’s an absolutely lovely musical arrangement of “Philomel, With Melody” (AKA the lullaby Titania’s fairy servants sing to her) by the band Caprice. It’s not the most relevant, I just want to share it because it’s nice. WARNING: The crux of the play revolves around a love potion plot, so there will be themes of manipulation, non-consent, and potential sexual assault played for laughs and romance. It’s arguably mild compared to some of the other texts on here, but I would still be careful!
Translations of Melusina (Melusine) stories by D. L. Ashliman - D. L. Ashliman’s got a massive online treasure trove of folktales and folktexts, it’s always a fun time to go on a rabbit hole through his(their?) site. If you want stuff specifically relevant to Melusine though, here’s the page for her.
Versions of the Tam Lin ballad compiled at Tam Lin Balladry - this one’s going to be relevant because of the extremely high likelihood that NA will follow the JP merch labels and localize the “Fairy Knight” title as Tam Lin. Because it’s a ballad, there’s plenty of audio versions put to song, the most textually accurate one I can currently find being by Bob Hay & The Jolly Beggars. Besides that however, there are also versions by Steeleye Span, Fairport Convention, Tricky Pixie, and my personal favorite, the one by Anaïs Mitchell of Hadestown fame and Jefferson Hamer. If you want a more standard audio adaptation, the Tales of Britain and Ireland podcast will have you covered. WARNING: The start of the ballad is explicitly about sexual assault, with Tam Lin having been a rapist prior to meeting Janet. Janet’s own encounter is usually portrayed as consensual, she’s apparently a weirdo who heard the warnings and went “So that means FREE SEX?”, but some later versions do change her encounter into rape as a bizarre way of censoring her having sex out of wedlock. In addition, the ballad deals with themes of abortion. Basically, if any of this stuff is a trigger for you, I would proceed with extreme caution if you choose to listen or read.
Habetrot and Scantlie Mab - an archived version of a fairy tale about Habetrot. For similar stories, search for stuff under the Aarne-Thompson-Uther index type 501, “The Three Spinning Old Women”.
Historia Regum Britanniae (The History of the Kings of Britain) by Geoffrey of Monmouth - Now this one may not seem immediately obvious in its relevance outside of “hey look, Arthuriana!”, but trust me, This Is A Surprise Tool That Will Help Us Later. The relevant parts are going to start at Book 6, with Vortigern’s shenanigans. There’s also a podcast audio adaptation by Myths & Legends, split into part A, part B, and part C, if you would prefer that.
Official website for Knocknarea, or Cnoc na Riabh - Knocknarea is a big ol’ hill in Ireland with a bunch of Neolithic cairns on it, the most famous of which is claimed to be Queen Medb’s tomb. For anything else related to Medb, go read the Tain.
The Wikipedia page for Cernunnos - this is the point where I have to give up on not linking wikipedia, alas, as the sources here are little too tiny and scattered. Cernunnos is a Celtic god from Gaul, he’s got horns, we’ve got his name and some archaeological depictions of him, and that’s basically it, because unfortunately no stories about him survived. If I can find a better source about him to link, I’ll drop it here.
Le Morte d’Arthur by Sir Thomas Mallory, Volume I and Volume II - Not including this initially was a huge oversight on my part, but this is pretty much The text for general Arthuriana and one of the really big ones that Fate takes influence from. You can read this for stuff about Morgause and Morgan, but it’s also just good to have on hand for anything with the Round Table in general.
I’ve also got a bunch of podcast episodes that don’t really fit in with any of the above that I’ll list here if anyone wants more dank audio content:
Robin Goodfellow: His Mad Pranks and Merry Jests by Tales of Britain and Ireland - Relevant if you want some alternative tales of Puck and Oberon. WARNING: The episode itself covers its warnings pretty good, but before you click - there’s a lot of adult content in this one, including the thumbnail image. Most of the stories adapted are going to get pretty bawdy even at best, and there’s one that explicitly involves an attempted rape that the titular character thwarts. Proceed with caution, and also maybe don’t listen in public.
Black Dogs and Englishmen: Black Shuck in English Folklore and The Barguest: Demon Dog, Silly Sprite or Spectral Hound?, both by Fabulous Folklore with Icy - Listen to these two if you want more info on barghests.
Scottish Halloween & Vampire Fairy Witches by Stories of Scotland - Listen to this if you want a retelling of a story involving the baobhan sith along with other Scottish traditions!
And that’s all I’ve got for right now! If I find any more relevant sources, or if someone directs me to said sources, I’ll be sure to add links to this post. Until then, happy reading and listening, and I hope everyone has fun with LB6!

Hello, everyone! I noticed that my profile on this social network lacks information about my OCs (original characters), and I don't post my old art or gifted arts. Let's fix that!
Meet Reckless. I call it a project, but it's less than that. It features 8 main characters and several supporting ones.
LORE
The lore revolves around the criminal underworld, with Sylvester Collins as the main character. Sylvester crossed his old, almost defunct mafia by stealing compromising documents and going on the run. He was picked up by Wade Travis in his trailer, and they grew close. They were being watched by Yakuza boss Asami Yano, who needed those documents to completely dismantle the mafia and take control. She offered Sylvester a job, and to prove his loyalty, he had to rescue Berta Vanzetti from the clutches of his own father, Anthony Vanzetti (formerly a Don), and his men. Berta and Anthony have a terrible relationship, and Berta is a friend of Asami's. In the end, Berta handled the situation herself.
Due to the ensuing shootout, they urgently needed a lawyer. Sylvester suddenly remembers his old childhood friend Ronald William King after seeing his lawyer advertisement on a street banner. Their relationship is extremely strained; they had a falling out and haven't spoken since. Ronald then sent his younger sister Annette King to watch over them and see who Sylvester was involved with. Annette is a junior police officer who knows about the mafia groups through her friend Sophie Scarlett (real name Sofia Belova), who works undercover for the FBI, investigating crimes among mafia groups and bosses. She often poses as an office worker or reporter.
Asami also owns a cabaret club where Daniel Harris works part-time as a bartender and also as an underground doctor. After meeting Ronald, Daniel became a secretary in his office.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Originally, they were OCs for GTA, but eventually, they evolved into their own lore. The project is somewhat on hold, but sometimes I just enjoy drawing characters from it.
I will make more posts with arts using the tags :)

Hello, I saw your answer (and therefore explanation) of Gawain and his many lovers and wondered if you also had some insights into the relationship between Kay and Bedivere? Was that a solely adventure buddies kinda thing or a little bit more perhaps? Anyways I hope you have a lovely evening
hey there!
oh yay i love them! i incorporated a lot of bedivere into my kay webweaving post and in my book series i modeled their relationship after real life knights sir john clanvowe and sir william neville. let's get into it! :^)
for starters, kay and bedivere are two of the oldest arthurian characters, so their "history" is long. which is very fun! in the mabinogion, kai and bedwyr refer to each other as "companions." the word is sometimes applied to all members of arthur's fellowship (ie "companion" of the round table) but i really enjoy the idea that it can speak to a deeper connection than "coworker." let's look at a couple passages.
in culhwch and olwen, kai and bedwyr are sent by arthur on a quest. their introductions are back to back with a list of their fun magical powers. notably, bedwyr's opens like this.
Tumblr media
they are the definition of "comes as a set, do not separate." their apparent inseparability becomes a theme from here. later, kai works some blacksmithing, prompting this exchange.
Tumblr media
literally what is this supposed to mean? if "companion" refers to all of arthur's men, then explain this...wild. off to a strong start. then comes the rescue of mabon, where kai and bedwyr ride together on the back of a huge salmon.
Tumblr media
and here's some kickass artwork of this adventure by margaret jones, which i scanned for all to read!
Tumblr media
but wait, there's more. last note about the mabinogion is that kai has his own turn of phrase referring to bedwyr's missing hand, which can seem a bit mean-spirited, but is received as more of an inside joke.
Tumblr media
crazy stuff. okay. brace yourself for our boy geoffrey of monmouth's the history of the king's of britain. here kay and bedivere gain roles that go hand in hand, seneschal and cupbearer ("server" and "butler" in this translation). when arthur has to fight and kill the giant of mon saint michael, he chooses only two people to bring with him. guess who.
Tumblr media
later, during the war, they are assigned to co-command one of the factions.
Tumblr media
and then.....the ending. bedivere is slain, and kay sacrifices himself in the effort to retrieve his body.
Tumblr media
sick and twisted narrative choices, geoff. i'm looking away.
to answer your question, yeah, i think together they make the most wonderfully annoying middle management married couple in camelot and menace all their employees in an ever-revolving door of "go ask my husband" that drives everyone mad. arthur finds it highkey hilarious<3
thanks for asking!

“With the Commonwealth Realms, I expect Charles to fulfil his role as their Head of State regardless of which government is in power.”
Until John Major signed, Maastricht treaty in the mid 1990’s we had anchor butter and New Zealand Lamb. These things, and others, disappeared from supermarket shelves and EU produce was prioritised.
After the Lisbon Treaty was signed in 2009 military co-operation with Europe (France) was prioritised, seemingly above UK Commonwealth and NATO links, in terms of funding and development.
The Late Queen and now the King are Head of a realms whose army swears allegiance. It means something, or it should. Our shared history should mean closer, cooperation, and trade and travel. The similarities in our Parliaments and Health Service and peoples should be highlighted with the monarchy as an umbrella or lynchpin. But on none of these things can the king or the late Queen act independently of government.
A resurgent, China started rolling out the Belt and Road initiative in 2013, directly targeting Commonwealth Realms and Nations. And government moved out of the way to let them because no one saw Brexit coming.
Thing is Sunak’s Windsor framework reverses the closer ties Boris Johnson and Liz Truss were working towards post Brexit which would mean not only enhanced trade but closer military co-operation.
It’s why the King went to Germany as his first state visit not Australia, New Zealand or Canada imho.
The Commonwealth of Nations is different, because there it is predominantly trade I believe, as well as the opportunity for cooperation. And that will continue, although I do not think Prince William will be head of the Commonwealth. I think there may be a revolving head by then, i.e. the representative from a certain country for certain amount of years.
Hi Nonny,
Thank you for that explanation of what is happening in GB. I always read "the Commonwealth" as "the Commonwealth of Nations", so I will have to remember that other people mean "the Commonwealth Realms" when they say "the Commonwealth".
"Our shared history should mean closer, cooperation, and trade and travel. The similarities in our Parliaments and Health Service and peoples should be highlighted with the monarchy as an umbrella or lynchpin." - I agree, but I don't see this happening. Instead I see the Commonwealth Realms drawing further and further apart.
China is a concern to me as well.
I also think that after King Charles the position of Head of the Commonwealth will change and not longer be the ruler of Great Britain.

If the king and Queen Camilla are now spending weekends in Windsor, as reported, then they may well see the Wales children every weekend.
>>I grew up 15 minutes away from my grandparents. We only saw them for holidays and birthdays.
Charles and Camilla aren’t seeing the Waleses kids as often as anons seem to think. With three sets of kid activities and William and Kate’s own lives/social stuff, they’re not packing the kids up every weekend to go see Charles. Charles wants to see the kids, he’s gotta get off his throne and go see them. But he won’t because he thinks the world revolves around him.
The Waleses see the Middletons more because the Middletons get this. They know that to see their grandchildren, they go to them. That’s what crawls under Charles’s skin - he thinks they should be coming to see him and not asking him to come to them.

It was beautiful that fine fall day at the Van Buren, Arkansas, train station. Charles Tolson and his acting troupe had just finished up a successful run at the King Opera House and were preparing to head to their next town. As Tolson separated from the group and stepped up to the ticket counter, Dr. William Parchman stepped out of the depot and called his name.
Dr. Parchman was a well-respected member of the Van Buren community, the doctor everyone would turn to. He was also a father, and just a wee bit overprotective of his 17-year-old daughter, Alaye. That would be his undoing. For the very night before, a traveling vinegar salesman put it into his head that Alaye and Tolson had been having a…well, how to put this delicately…let’s just say that the two had an arrangement. What’s more, the vinegar-tongued devil said, Alaye was planning to run away with Tolson as the troupe left town. The doctor was not going to let this go unanswered.
Which brings us back to the railroad platform. As Dr. Parchman called Tolson’s name, he drew his .44 caliber revolver and opened fire. And promptly missed. Tolson did what any of us would do in the situation – he turned and ran like Hell.
The doctor fired again, this time striking Tolson in the hip. That shot spun the actor around in time for the doctor to fire a third time. This last bullet struck Tolson’s watch before burrowing deep into his chest. As the actor fell, the doctor calmly turned around and walked away.
Tolson was grievously wounded, but still very much alive. The troupe and other bystanders got him onto the train that rushed him to the next station, Fort Smith – you know, so he could be treated by a doctor that hadn’t just tried to kill him. He succumbed to his wounds a short time later.
Well of course they arrested Dr. Parchman, and of course they put him on trial for murder. It was an open and shut case. After all, he’d gunned the actor down in cold blood, in broad daylight, in front of dozens of witnesses. Including Tolson’s wife. So, it should come as no surprise that after a brief deliberation, the jury returned their verdict.
Not guilty.
Yeah, I’m not even going to go there on that one.
One absolute truth is, an actor’s love for the stage never dies. Perhaps that’s why Charles Tolson continues to return to the King Opera House, the scene of his last triumphant performance, night after night. Many have heard his footsteps as he treads the boards once more, or have heard the distinct sounds of props and scenery moving, even though nothing moves. Many more have seen the theater’s seats move on their own, or witnessed the stage lights going on and off, or changing focus, without anyone operating them.
The King Opera House is still in operation, hosting a great line-up of film and stage productions. You should check it out if you’re ever in Van Buren. And when you go, be sure to say “Hello” to Charles. https://kingoperahouse.com/
