****Flash Fiction****

Matulin ang sinasakyang bus ni Isagani papunta sa Candon para mag-aral. Umaga kasi ng Lunes kaya maraming pasahero ang sasakay kaya nakikipagkarera ang tsuper sa iba pang mga sasakyan sa pagkuha ng mga pasahero.

Nakadungaw si Isagani sa bintana, nagmumuni-muni habang pinagmamasdan ang bawat lugar na madaraanan. Paidlip na sana ito nang biglang tumunog ang kanyang telepono kaya agaran nitong inangat .

“Si mommy ang tumatawag”  nahimasmasang sambit sa sarili.

“Kumusta ka anak ininom mo ba ang mga vitamins mo?” malamyos na tinig ng ina sa telepono na nasa Indonesia nagtratrabaho. “Magpapadala ako ng balik-bayan box sa susunod na linggo at saktong makukuha niyo ito sa araw ng iyong kaarawan” paglalambing sa anak na malayo sa kanya.

“Nabili mo na ba ang pinapabili kong Addidas na sapatos at Iphone 15” seryosong sambit ni Isagani sa telepono habang nakaupo sa bus at nag-iinat ng mga kamay.

“Nabili ko na ang sapatos anak ngunit hindi ko pa nabili ang cellphone na gusto mo. Bagong modelo pala iyon kaya pala mahal” sambit ng ina na dinig ang magkakasunod na buntong hininga sa telepono na tila pagod na pagod.

“Sinasabi mo lang ‘yan dahil ayaw mo akong bilhan” pairap sa mata na nasambit ni Isagani.

Mayamaya pa ay lumapit ang konduktor kay Isagani. “Saan po kayo sir?” malugod na tanong ng lalaking naka unipormi ng malarosas.

“Candon plaza, student ako” sambit ni Isagani sabay humugot ng pambayad sa kanyang pitaka.

“60 pesos po” tugon naman ng konduktor sabay bigay ang tiketa at kinuha ang bayad ni Isagani.

“Anyway, mommy, isabay mo na ring ilagay sa ipapadala mong balik-bayan box ‘yong gold necklace na gusto ko” pagpapatuloy ni Isagani sa naantalang pag-uusap nila ng kanyang ina sa telepono.

“Teka lang anak hindi ko muna mabibili nang sabaysabay ang mga iyan” mabilis na tugon ni Lucia sa anak.

“Parang iyan lang hindi mo pa maibigay. Wala kana nga dito sa puder ko” pabulong na sabi ni Isagani nang tinignan niya sa bintana kung malapit na ba ang sinasakyan niya sa kanyang patutunguhan.

“Anak, kapapadala ko pa lang ng limang libo noong nakaraan sayo para sa sinasabi mong graduation fee mo. Kaya wala muna akong pambili ngayon nasagad na kasi ‘yong sahod ko noong nakaraang buwan at ‘yong sahod ko ngayon na-advance ko na rin noong nakaraan” maluha-luhang sambit ng ina. “Kahit wala ako sa pudermo mahal na mahal kita at kaya ako nagtungo dito ay para sa kinabukasan mo. Tinitiis ko ang pangungila ko sa iyo, kayo na pamilya ko” dagdag ni Lucia.

Walang tugon si Isagani at minabuting ibinaba na lamang ang telepono habang nagsasalita ang ina. Mayamaya pa ay huminto na ang sinasakyang bus sa plaza ng Candon. Nakipag-unahang tumayo at bumaba sa bus si Isagani dahil mahuhuli na ito sa kanyang unang klase. Hindi na rin niya namalayang natabig niya ang kinakaing mani ng batang nakaupo sa kanyang harapan sa labis niyang pagmamadali.

           Pagkalipas ng dalawang buwan masayang nagtatawanan at nagiinuman sina Isagani at ang kanyang mga kaibigan sa kanilang bahay sa araw ng kanyang kaarawan.

“Kabilin-bilinan ng lola

'Wag nang uminom ng serbesa

Ito'y hindi inumin pang bata

Mag-softdrinks ka na lang muna

Pero ngayon ako'y matanda na

Lola, pahingi ng pang-toma

Ayan na nga, tumataas na ang amats ko

Kasi laklak maghapon, magdamag…” malakas na tunog ng videoke habang kumakanta ang lasing na kaibigan ni Isagani habang sumasayaw sila.

Mayamaya pa ay may lumapit na lalaki at nagtanong kung sino si Kyle Isagani Perez. Agad namang tumugon si Isagani, “Ako nga iyon!”.

            “Pirmahan na lang po ninyo ito, sir” sabay abot ng lalaki ang mga papeles kay Isagani.

            “Baka iyan na ang pinadalang balik-bayan box ng iyong ina” sabik na sabi ng kanyang ama. Napangiti si Isagani dahil sa wakas ay mahahawakan na niya ang mga bagay na ipinabili niya sa kanyang ina sa ibang bansa at maipagmamayabang niya ito sa kanyang mga kainumang kaibigan.

            “Mag-inuman pa tayo, maghapon hanggang magdamagan! Marami pang inumin diyan” pahalakhak na sigaw ni Isagani sa kanyang mga kaibigan.

            Ang kasabikan ay nabalot ng katahimikan, pagkabigla at pagtulo ng luha nang ibaba na ang balik-bayan box na galing Indonesia. Bumungad ang kahong mahaba at kulay puti at isinunod na ring ibinaba ang mga koronang bulaklak. Ito na ang ina ni Isagani na nasa loob ng balik-bayan box. Mahimbing ang tulog at walang hininga. Kalakip sa balik-bayan box ang mga ipinapabili ni Isagani na mga bagay na nanatiling nakatala na lamang sa sulat ng ina na kanyang bibilhin, “Mga bibilhin ko para sa minahal kong anak, Isagani”.

Hello andito kami ngaun Kila sam. Kahapon din dito kami nag sleep, nag brown out Kasi samen. May pumutok na naman na transformer. Sobrang init na nga eh. Grabe narin ang init these days. Palala Ng palala, sobrang init sa bahay namen, Hindi na sya tolerable. Gusto ko maiyak Kasi may problem me sa thyroid, and ung problem ko eh hindi kayang mag tolerate Ng init dagdag pa dun na buntis ako. Kaya hirap na hirap ako. Yung init ngaun 24 hours na. Kahit Gabi sobrang init, Hindi na kaya Ng walang aircon.

Nandito Muna ko Kila mama habang ngaun buntis ako, Wala Kasi me work. Sobrang sensitive Ng pregnancy ko. Si ram lang may work so hirap na din bayad Ng bills. Si ram umuwi Muna skanila. Yung coffee break ko sa office na black coffee, super kinaka thankful ko yun haha! Yung spotify app ko na any genre of music ay ma pplay ko base on my mood na aappreciate ko yun. We don’t need to have BIG purchases or incredible achievements to express gratitude kasi even makatulog ka lang sa gabi is a big thing na. Many people had a hard time sleeping at night and it can give a negative impact sa health ng isang individual. So stay grateful.

3. Healthy Relationships: Strong connections and positive relationships with family, friends, and loved ones can contribute to your happiness. Having a support system and feeling loved and supported can bring joy and contentment.

Yes, the world is indeed getting smaller because of the internet. Different social media apps. Pero nothing beats yung small cirle naten. The one who truly cares and understands kung ano o sino ka as a person.

Our families and friends are the true gems. Lalo na if you have a good relationship with them. I strongly believe na we are always wearing a mask and it depends on who we are with. Sure ako pag naging talkative and makulit ka. Yan ang geniune cirle mo. Have a blast.

4. Purpose and Meaning: When you have a sense of purpose or meaning in your life, it can bring a deep sense of fulfillment and happiness. Engaging in activities and pursuing goals that align with your values and passions can contribute to your overall well-being.

This is very important. It’s very subjective din dahil naka depende sa cultural and beliefs ang purpose ng tao. Iba iba din tayo ng upbringing and experiences. Kadalasan ng mga youth eto ang pinag dadaanan. They are looking and finding themselves.

Always stay curios, try as many things as possible. You may also experience some mistakes in life wag lang sobra dahil it may greatly impact you sa future just enough lang para may matutunan ka.

Hinahanap ba to? I don’t know but if it’s your calling. You will not find it but it will FIND you. Just do it.

5. Positive Self-Care Habits: Taking care of yourself physically, emotionally, and mentally can contribute to your happiness. Engaging in regular exercise, practicing self-care activities, and managing stress can boost your mood and overall sense of well-being.

If you like what you are seeing in the mirror, tataas confidence mo. If you want to improve physically it takes time and disciple din. You should also learn and have discernment hindi lahat ng pieces of advice na mapupulot mo sa internet nowadays may be right and fit for you. Always seek advice sa mga experts.

Like the seasons of nature, there are also Personal Seasons in life: The season of winter — sadness, heartbreak, loneliness, and sickness. Season of spring — hope, new beginnings, opportunities. Season of summer — signs of growth, need for protection, an abundance of distractions.

Can we like- have a team of 8 people instead of 6 for the next Inter High?? ;A; last yowapeda chapter left me in need to have all my boys in the team this year ;A;

I NEED Roku-chan and Kinaka on the team, that's not even a question, I'm gonna riot if one of them ends up not participating in the IH - I need them BOTH

BUT also Sugimotoooo ;A; it's his last chance and he's working so hard ;A; Watanabe give him some joy for once, let him run with Imaizumi in the IH, he deserves it ;;;

And Danchiku..... i also NEED him on the IH team with Kaburagi ;;; and yeah maybe it can happen next year but i won't get to see it so it doesn't count ;A; also... His conversation with Kabu in the last chapter.... Wannabe why do you have to make me suffer so much o<-<

WRATH OF THE LOAKAN LADY...IN WHITE

The most exciting prospect for a teenager that was me, who just got a driver's license, is to become a taxi driver. And the most avoided part of the city for us drivers back then was Loakan Road, Baguio City.

There are dozens of stories about the vengeful White Lady of Loakan Road who seems to prefer taxi drivers as victims. Real or not, here's one:

It was past 2:00am on a drizzling foggy night somewhere along Military Cut-off Road when a certain cab was flagged down by a long haired woman in white dress. The driver who has heard a lot of stories about the notorious White Lady, fought the urge to ignore the woman and mustered all his courage to stop. He needed the money.

He can't seem to get a clear look on the woman's face because of the weather. He acted unconcerned although his heart began thumping as the woman sat on the backseat. He asked "Where to miss?" and the woman replied "Loakan Road, I'll tell you where to stop when we get there".

He almost jumped upon hearing the word "Loakan" but managed to calm himself and proceeded to drive...nervously.

When they approached the infamous pine tree in the middle of the road where the White Lady supposedly hanged herself when she was still with the living (the tree was cut down sometimes in the early 2000s), the driver tried to have a better look on the woman's face through his rear view mirror. Much to his surprise, their eyes met! Hers was wide and fiery staring coldly at him! There could be no doubt, this is THE WHITE LADY OF LOAKAN!!!

In fear, he stepped hard on the accelerator. He tried again to look in the mirror but the woman was suddenly nowhere to be seen! Panic attacked as he drove faster, wildly swerving left and right until he reached the Camp John Hay entrance gate where other taxis are lining up waiting for passengers.

He hit the brakes hard, pulled the handbrake, alighted from the car and ran towards his colleagues shouting "It's her! It is HER!"

Behind him, and as the other drivers looked on in shock, the door slowly opened. A lady dressed in white with hair scattered all over her face slowly opened the door, stood still, and paused before shouting:

"Manong! No sumaruno met a ket inayadem nga ag-drive!! Uray la nga ma-isub-subak ti datar gapu ti kinakas-kaserom!!!" ("Mister! Drive slowly next time!! I was thrown down the floor, face-first, because of your haphazard driving!!!)
