So, story time!
When I started watching Killer and Healer, I was (still am) in love with the song that used to play at the end of each episode. Even after I had finished watching the entire show, the song stuck with me. So, I used to listen to it almost on a daily basis while going to and coming back from school.
This was back in 2021. Basically when Spotify served the very purpose of its existence.
I remember being sad when I couldn't find it there. But, thanks to a very kind uploader on YouTube (they included the translated lyrics too, bless them), my moping didn't last long.
Fast forward to today, I found myself listening to the songs posted on the tag game posts. Among these was the title track of the show's OST.
Out of habit, I scrolled through playlists with the title Killer and Healer on Spotify before my search was finally over.
Tumblr media
I don't know why I'm writing this. However, what I do feel is a whole ton of gratitude for the existence of fandoms. My heart is happy :>
So thank youuu 😭😭 (Thank you so much @killerandhealerqueen)
Here's the link if anyone wants to give it a listen:

Since I loved The Spirealm so much I thought I’d do another c drama this time around + one Thai option because I’ve been eyeing it for a bit.
I will start whatever later this week or so. Starting Golden Blood (2021) tonight since it’s only eight episodes. Give me something to watch for a few days.

Book Review - The Song of Achilles
I came across this book on Goodreads, and it has been on my TBR list for a long time. The Song of Achilles (by Madeline Miller) took over booktok in the years 2021-2022. To be honest, I completely forgot about the book after putting it on my TBR list until very recently, but once I did read it, I wanted to put my lot in the betting pool.
So, because this book has gotten so much attention, I went on Goodreads to read some reviews. Then, after reading the book, I read a few more reviews.
One of the most common issues people seem to have with this book is how Patroclus is portrayed as weak. I disagree with that statement so much I could rant about it forever, but here are my bullet points. While it's true that Patroclus does not have the athletic gift that Achilles has, he can still use a sword, spear, whatever. Chiron himself says that though Patroclus will never get fame for his use of weapons, he has the potential to become a “competent soldier.” When fighting, Patroclus avoids combat because he is incapable of handling the pain of others. But, it should be known that Patroclus is a healer, not a killer. He finds happiness in helping people, not killing them.
Apart from all this, there were many things I loved about this book. The sentences are lyrical genius, they flow into a song. Miller's representation of the characters is genius and her descriptive detail makes you feel like you can see what's happening. I like how Achilles was portrayed, as a young man born in a life where everything is made to his wish and such has no qualms about going into the real world and wears his half-godliness like a cape. The journey of the Trojan War through Miller's eyes is fantastic, you could sense the hopelessness the men had at the end of four years, and how Achilles gave them hope again.
Odysseus's artfulness struck out to me, I enjoyed reading his lines a great deal and I loved how Thetis was portrayed. Harsh and cold, only really caring about her son. Patroclus's character arc is really something to marvel at. He goes from a boy with no confidence in himself at all to a man, with surety in his abilities and decisions.
The only thing for me that would take away from a perfect 5 stars is that Miller didn't really show us how Achilles and Patroclus fell in love. What drew Achilles to Patroclus and what Patroclus liked about Achilles.
My rating: 4.5/5 stars
Goodreads rating: 4.35/5 stars

4. Caged Bird - 10, 456
5. 'Til You Tear Me Apart - 9,837
5. Do you respond to comments, why or why not?
Oh, always.  Unless it’s a rude comment, those usually just get deleted.  But for the most part yes, I always respond to comments
6. What’s the fic you’ve written with the angstiest ending?
None of my fics have an “angsty” ending.  I’m a writer who writes “angst with a happy ending”.  The one that got really fucking close was Soul Bound but even that one had a happy ending.  I respect writers who can write hella angsty endings but could never be me
7. Do you write crossovers?
I’ve done a few crossovers, mainly between S.C.I. and Killer and Healer because Zhan Yao and Bai Yutong are very similar to Chen Yuzhi and Jiang Yuelou so it’s always fun to work with their dynamics
8. Have you ever received hate on a fic?
No, thankfully
9. Do you write smut? If so, what kind?
No.  I always say I want to try but honestly, just thought of writing smut makes me uncomfortable.  I respect writers who can but again, could never be me
10. Have you ever had a fic stolen?
Someone stole my “The Untamed Moments” and was writing all of my fics in Spanish over on Wattpad like they wrote the damn thing.  Thankfully a reader told me so I took that shit down but yes...it’s happened before.  Thankfully hasn’t happened recently but everyone knows what will happen if they touch my fics, so they know better
11. Have you ever co-written a fic before?
I did, when I was younger over on AsianFanFics.  But we both quickly scrapped the fic and I’ve never co-written a fic since.  Now I do brainstorm fic ideas with a few friends here on tumblr (
@ahhhnorealnamesallowed
,
@bestbuds55
,
@kpopfantasywriter
,
@unknowwn701
, and
@tolkiennaite111
just to name a few) but I wouldn’t exactly call that “co-writing”
12. What’s your all time favorite ship?
Tumblr media
Considering that I’ve written 137 and counting fics for them...it’s safe to say they’re my faves
13. What was the first fandom you wrote for?
Either EXO, SHINee, or Super Junior over on AFF.  Honestly can’t remember
14. What’s your favorite fic you’ve written?
I don’t have a favorite...because I love all my fics.  I go back and read them all the time.  How can I pick?
Not tagging anyone but if you want to play, you’re more than welcome to!

Have you watched Killer and Healer 👀?
hello friend! i watched about 6 episodes of it back in 2021, but just couldn't continue. the cases were not interesting to me at least in the first 6 episodes. i know the premise and the bromance seem to be right up my alley, but the execution in many aspects is just not something that can keep me watching unfortunately :(

Posted on readandfindout.com on 11/19/2021
4:00 – Not sure how I feel about Nynaeve using a weapon. Not that there’s anything wrong with it per se. But it’s just her thing, that she’s not a killer, but a Healer.
7:27 – By “you won’t” he meant “succeed” of course. Because Lan.
7:50 – Yes, Perrin is gone, too. Nice of you to remember.
9:30 – I kind of feel like it should be obvious to WoT Novices that the Dragon Reborn is probably not Perrin or Mat.
10:46 – Perrin was not nearly so sanguine ITB about Egwene’s channeling, and he should not have been, because that’s super dangerous as Verin points out in the next book, and Perrin’s deal is that he understands the dangers of things and grasps the importance of controlling power instead of using it. Because he’s really strong and waves heavy objects for a living and doesn’t want to hurt anyone. And also, the One Power is the reason for every single aspect of WoT that is worse than the Real World, so people are more afraid of it than anything.
I kind of feel like they don’t get this and think they are fixing Perrin here, by making him supportive.
11:15 – And Egwene wants to go back home to look for their friends, instead of heading to Tar Valon. Like or hate her, like or hate this aspect of her character, it’s a big deal for her! Hell, ITB, she was adamant about not delaying their journey to the Tower for even the slightest detour even after Elyas demonstrated how much better off they would be in his company. Perrin even went on an uncharacteristically sarcastic mini-rant about it.
12:45 – Nynaeve would never require coercion or pressure of any sort to heal someone who was sick or hurt, for any reason. That is her thing. It’s as much her thing as Egwene’s ambition or Perrin’s caution. She would never hold out Healing in order to pressure someone into doing what she wants.
14:25 – Why be coy about her tracking? ITB she offered an explanation of her skills unsolicited.
I just realized that maybe she was embarrassed ITB in Baerlon, because she actually was more subconsciously relying on the link to Egwene and did not want to admit she was actually following a feeling she could not explain. Which, in turn, might explain her reluctance to answer Lan. Except in this version, there is still no explanation of how she then found Lan and Moiraine, rather than being drawn in Egwene’s direction.
17:28 – I like the dream if it’s Baalzamon trying to make Perrin fear the wolves, otherwise, wolves in his dreams were protecting him from Baalzamon. And shouldn’t be eating his dead wife.
17:40 – I’m imagining those snarls are wolvish for “Damnit Young Bull, we’re trying to help! There’s food over…no, not that way! Crap, someone find Long Tooth to talk to these idiots.”
20:13 – I feel like maybe the show people don’t know what the point of those cage things actually is. They are intended to make people die of exposure, a long, slow suffering. Not to hoist them up as target practice. One of those cages whose occupant is riddled with arrows looks like he was mercy-killed.
20:30 – Is this Whitebridge or Baerlon? It’s got a bridge, but it’s kind of shabby and miney for the former.
21:14 - >resigned sigh< I’m half expecting Min to be winning a drinking contest in this place. TV writers being all super-original and whatnot.
21:43 – Thom?
22:00 – Okay, guitar.
22:21 – Is this good singing? I can’t tell.
23:55 – A song about how sad LTT is would not be something people in the Third Age would appreciate.
24:52 – Saw that coming a mile away. Hood dude was a clear and obvious Film Pickpocket, but if he managed to get Thom, I’d have shut the browser window. Thom picking HIS pocket was the only way to stay true to the character. Happily.
25:07 – Please don’t let “donation for the gleeman” become the new “Toss a coin for your Witcher”.
25:13 – So with that essential character service out of the way, we can go on with Thom taking advantage of two hard-up young men in over their heads, because his mercenary attributes and greed are a thing with him.
25:53 – “Aawooo! Seriously, Young Bull! You’re going in the wrong direction for hunting or water. Just hold up, Long Tooth isn’t far!”
28:09 – Careful, barmaid. In Rand’s experience, doing the dishes means sex.
Ah, good thing she’s setting him to chop wood. No innuendo or euphemisms there.
29:00 – They don’t use scatological profanity in WoT. How hard is it to stick with “bloody” and “burn me” and “blood and ashes”? What’s gained by having Mat say “shit” all the time.
29:59 – Or sexual profanity. Not least because that tends to have sexist connotations.
30:17 – There’s a reason why Rand is mentioned as taking off his coat when doing chores for his room and board. It’s confining and gets in the way, especially a long flappy one like he’s wearing. Would it be too much trouble for TV writers to ever do a little manual labor so they know these things? Anyone who’s ever split wood would feel that shot was wrong.
32:02 – What exactly are we getting out of this whole scene in the bar? Turns out this is Breen’s Spring, so it’s not like this is an important locale they need to establish.
32:28 – This is NOT Mat! Even with the dagger affecting him for much longer, even when it has him thinking Rand will abandon him if he can’t keep up, he still sticks with Rand, protects him when he’s weak and gets him food and shelter.
32:55 – I don’t think the locals know the barmaid so well because of enforced familiarity, but because she’s prone to blabbering to even a stranger she was belittling moments ago for being lazy and useless. This is Sanderson all over again. Jordan wrote a million characters. We don’t need all this screen time devoted to a useless original one who serves no purpose.
35:56 – This is, like, exactly the opposite of how the Tinkers are presented. Why would you ever trust these creepy people without an intermediary like Elyas vouching for them?
36:30 – They haven’t actually been welcomed to the Tinker camp, because the show thought it would be better to have them seem creepy and shocking, so you get zero points for sticking with the book dialogue.
36:59 – “You both look awful and this is being said by people who appear not to have washed our top-knot man-bun dreadlocks in forever.” Why is so much TV dialogue putdowns, insults or mockery, even, or especially, between friendly characters?
38:18 – It’s almost like Perrin and Egwene tucked into their food so emphatically because they really want to finish and get away from the most evil person from Downton Abbey and her husband, Taika Waititi.
38:42 – Yay. Took off his coat.
38:47 – See, this is what I mean. You can dig into the barmaid’s comments to infer that she’s impressed with Rand’s work ethic and output, but it’s all negative. First, she’s questioning why he’s working when she let Mat off an hour ago, then she’s ironically noting that he’s chopped enough wood for the next year and when he asks for confirmation that he’s done enough to earn food and shelter, her manner of agreement is as if she’s trying anything but to say, “yes, good job, thank you.”
39:28 – And she’s only being actually nice when she’s being a good LGBTQ ally. Because that’s the highest virtue. And they’re playing it for laughs, so it’s not even like this is being woke.
39:53 – WHY have Rand and Mat each exchanged more words with the bar woman than with Thom? Or maybe even each other since coming into this town? They might have spent more time with her, each, than Lan and Nynaeve have interacted.
40:02 to 40:16 – Lan sitting on his horse looking over a cliff. Why? You couldn’t have him just ride up to Nynaeve and Moiraine and say he found it?
43:06 – “Stop acting like a bloody white-veiled Aiel” doesn’t have the same ring to it. Thom knowing about Aiel honor also feels wrong.
44:20 – I like Thom kind of teaching Mat a moral lesson here and being a good example. He doesn’t get enough credit for that ITB.
45:19 – And we’re back to the barmaid. She had better be a Darkfriend at this point.
48:00 – Okay. Better, but predictable. And no, the braid doesn’t make you look like Egwene when you’re easily 50 pounds heavier than she is and the nose ring only highlights another proboscis-related difference.
48:30 – I suppose it would make sense for a gleeman to have some knowledge of Aiel customs, even if he didn’t bury the guy properly, but you’d think that with that knowledge would come questions or speculation as to what one was doing so far out of his homeland.
50:36 – Dana the Darkfriend.
52:24 – Predictable can be satisfying. There was no way this monologue was ending without Thom’s knife suddenly sticking out of her. But it’s only satisfying because she’s been so annoying and pointless and taking up too much of the episode, not because she is actually scary as a chubby woman in a bulky dress trying to hold off two fit men.
54:38 – Since when do Aes Sedai address each other as “(Name) Sedai”?
How did we get through the introduction of the Tinkers with no reference in the whole episode to the Way of the Leaf? That's like a vegan's diet - they find a way to work it into every conversation.

We’ve seen in wings of fire that different tribes can get variants of abilities. Skywings have firescales, Nightwings have their mind reading and foresight abilities, Mudwings have fire resistant scales, Silkwings have flamesilk, Leafwings have leafspeak, and Hivewings have all sorts of variations in abilities from Nerve poison, to stingers or to boiling acid able to be shot from their tails.
This made me wonder, what would other tribes have? Seawings, Icewings, Sandwings, and Rainwings don’t have ability variations, unless you count Chameleons lack of ability to change his scales. So I was trying to think of what those variations could’ve been and here’s what I came up with.
Some Seawings could be born with the ability to speak to ocean life through frequencies in the waves. From plants to animals to the ocean itself, Seawings could hear all sorts of stories from the deep. There could’ve been Seawings in the war of the Sandwing succession who sent out spies, or simply asked for any news that the creatures have seen. Seawings told of Albatross’s massacre by the shells on the shore, Kelp passing along a message that the summer palace was going to be attacked. Octopodes who witnessed Whirlpool attacking Tsunami, Animus touched coral that can tell others what their enchantment is. Maybe this ability could be called “Marine Messaging” and maybe the first Marine Messenger to discover this ability was a Seawing named Starfish. There could’ve been a dangerous substance corroding the ocean, and the waves were able to warn Starfish of the threat so their tribe could evacuate and take care of the problem. As for dragons in canon who I believe could’ve been a Marine Messenger, I think it would be interesting if Whirlpool or Riptide had it. Or Typhoon, the Seawing/Icewing hybrid who delivered Qibli’s enchanted earrings to the Ice kingdom during the plague. He could’ve heard of said plague from the narwhals or the killer whales who live in the freezing waters.
Icewings could have something called “Rime Affixing” this idea was born out of a headcannon I have for Icewings, but I think it works better in this context. A Rime Affixiated Icewing would have large ice crystals constantly forming around them. These crystals would build up and eventually grow into large chunks of ice attached to their scales. This ice could then be carved into whatever they wish. During the war of the Sandwing succession, most Rime Affixiated Icewings chose to carve themselves into a better weapon or better shield. By having their tails have sharp icicles that could easily impale, chest plates to keep them safe from spears or projectile weapons. A thin sheet of ice spread all over their body making them slippery and hard to grab, built in shields on their arms for both protection and as a bludgeon, or small shards that could be ripped off and used as a weapon if they had none left. If not used for battle though, they could carve it into anything else they saw fit. Maybe there was a Queen named Queen Avalanche who was Rime Affixiated, and she made her crown from her own ice. A traveller who carved little pockets onto themselves for any trinkets they encounter. A healer who has vials on them at all times. A flightless Icewing who decided “well my wings aren’t gonna take me anywhere, so let’s have fun with them!” And carved another pair of wings out of ice, or drew beautiful designs onto their scales that wouldn’t be able to stay if they were able to fly. But like Firescales on Skywings, Rime Affixiation can be dangerous if left unchecked. If any ice were to grow on their wings, it would have to be regularly cut off cause they wouldn’t be able to fly with it. Or if you’re stranded somewhere alone and have your claws incased in ice, it’s just going to grow and grow until you freeze completely. So you have to regularly get it carved. For dragons in canon who I think could’ve had it, I think Winter’s sister, Icicle, could have it. Queen Scarlet loved dragons with peculiar abilities after all. Loved to see all the ways they could entertain her on the battlefield, so it makes sense she would recruit Icicle. Darkstalker and Whiteout also having it would be interesting. Whiteout would have it on any white part of her body, and would love to draw designs of what to turn it into. I imagine Foeslayer would carve it out, clumsy at first but she soon gets the hang of it. As for Darkstalker, due to the white scales being under his wings, it would grow to encase them in the time he spent asleep under the mountain. He would wake up thousands of years later to his wings completely incased in ice, unable to be moved. It’s as if the Icewings were still out to get him after all that time.
As for our stupendous SandWings, they could have “Depascent Mimicry” an ability which allows them to copy any sort of injectable toxin they have eaten or otherwise absorbed. DepaMimic Sandwings would also be immune to poisons and other toxins since they have to come into contact with it to absorb the ability. For example, if a Rainwing were to shoot their venom at a DepaMimic Sandwing and it made contact with their bloodstream, it wouldn’t kill them, and would instead allow them to use the venom from their tail barb. Any Rainwing venom that landed on their scales however would melt the affected area like normal. This applies to the Hivewings nerve toxin as well. If a Hivewing were to sting them, it wouldn’t fully paralyze them. It would freeze around the affected area and the DepaMimic would gain the ability to use the nerve toxin too. This affect wouldn’t last forever though. Depending on the dosage they’re exposed to, DepaMimic SandWings could retain the ability to use other poisons for three to thirteen days. They need to have constant access to the poisons to be able to constantly use them, which can be easily achieved by ingesting poisoned food or other objects. During the war of the SandWing succession, DepaMimic Sandwings were often put on the front lines, and because their opponents didn’t know what poison they were injected with, they didn’t know the cure. Manchineel, Elderberry, Iris, Rosary Pea, Death Camas and Mountain Laurel were popular with Burns army. Burn was happy to experiment with the poisons her allies had access to, and would often force her DepaMimics to test the toxin on traitors. Manchineel was also popular with Blisters army, along with Castor Beans, Wild Poinsettia, Angels Trumpet, and Arrowgrass. Many were puzzled by her poisons. Blister was allied with the Seawings, so naturally they looked for the plant responsible along the sea. Which while some were found, others just weren’t. Unbeknownst to them Blister was also allied with the Nightwings, who had learned a bit about the poisonous plants in the rainforest from their expeditions. Blister also would force DepaMimics to pair up, trying to add more to her forces as she learned more and more about toxic plants. It was also a DepaMimic who got her the Dragonbite Vipers she gifted to Burn, their immunity making the job easy. Blaze didn’t care too much for toxins. She was willing to tell Sunny the cure to normal Sandwing venom without much probing, so I don’t think it’s a concern of hers. She also had no Sandwings with Depascent Mimicry allied with her, other than herself of course. Which makes her sisters so mad and she can’t help but find that funny. Glacier however, does care more for the toxins. She mostly wants to know so she can get a good supply of antidotes for all sorts of venom. On the very rare occasions Glacier convinces Blaze to use her abilities, she’ll supply her with some Eranthis flowers or the occasional Winterberry.
Now for the RainWings! I was thinking they could have something related to the passage of time, or more specifically, the past. During Darkstalker’s time, RainWings weren’t seen as useless and lazy. I’ve always wondered what happened with RainWings between then and the Dragonet prophecy, but since they couldn’t read (and had little interest of learning to do so before Glory became queen) they couldn’t consult scrolls or other historical text to fill in the blanks of their history. But what about visuals? RainWings adore pretty things, bright colours and visual wonders. So what if they told stories through paintings? They could have huge murals of rainbow dragons, fluffy sloths and dancing flowers painted onto platforms and woven into huts. And some RainWings could even create such visuals on their own scales. “Vivid Elocution” is what I’ve chosen to call this ability. It would be the ability to create complex visuals like a living projector on their scales and across their wings. RainWings with this ability often are storytellers, fictional and non-fictional. They typically have bigger wings and frills than most RainWings do, allowing more space to tell their tale. Vivid RainWings also have their scales change when they’re dreaming, showing off the unique images our minds create when we’re asleep, and allowing other dragons to better research how dreams work. For canonical dragons who have this ability, I think Orchid and Peacemaker would be cool. Mastermind could’ve paid special attention to Orchid while she was locked in the volcanic Night Kingdom. Studying memories and dreams that swirled through her scales to hopefully gain a better understanding of both the RainWings venom and their habitat. I imagine Orchid would make her scales shift to things that would scare Mastermind, like the volcano erupting early or the RainWings breaking free and melting his scales till he was a puddle. Orchid is a rather docile dragon, but it’s easy to see her willing to to do something like that out of anger for her captors. As for Peacemaker, his NightWing traits are heavily dominant over his RainWing ones, so he wouldn’t be able to fully visualize images across his scales. The most he could do would be on his wings and frills, on the coloured stars sparkling amongst his dark sky. The images he would be able to show would appear as more of a sketch, a moving dot to dot. I’d imagine he also has very little control over it, his projections mostly happening when he’s dreaming or having a very vivid thought. It’s easy to imagine Hope quickly covering his wings with hers when constellations of a huge NightWing with white scales under his wings appeared on her dragonet. Or when he dreamed of a crown made of twisted metal atop someone’s head, or a peculiar hourglass filled with white sand. But also warmer memories, memories of a violet Nightwing and a green SeaWing with bright glowing sapphires in each of their talons. A family of four dragons, one white, one green, one blue, and one a mix of bright whites and deep blues shimmering across their scales.

A lot of people overlook Silkwings in wings of fire. They’re the docile tribe, the gentle giants. Beautiful but delicate butterflies with scales of azure wonders, but that’s all they are. And that’s completely intentional, you’re supposed to overlook Silkwings.
The thing about Silkwings is that they never had a chance to be anything. We know next to nothing about their history, their culture, and even their abilities. Flamesilk is something that Queen Wasp tried to hide, and back when Beetlewings were around, they were said to have even more abilities. After the tree wars, Silkwings were essentially stripped down to their name alone. Their ability to make silk was useful to Wasp, and later on their antennae were too. But they could never do anything more than that.
Luna got swept in a silk parachute all the way to Phyrria, isn’t that cool? What if Silkwings before the tree wars often made parachutes for wingless dragonets or injured Silkwings? What if they had a language of their own that they spoke through vibrations on silk lofts like strumming a guitar? What if certain colours on Silkwings were rumoured to show your personality, kind of like zodiac signs. It could be said that green Silkwings were fierce and competitive, or yellow Silkwings were curious and creative. Blue Silkwings could be loyal and Loving or purple Silkwings could be adventurous and hard-working. What if they had beautiful forests of colourful trees, calligraphic silk art along the bark and branches. Flamesilk lanterns painstakingly crafted for ceremonial celebrations or holidays for Silkwings to whisper their greatest wishes into, before setting them free. There could be little doctors appointments for getting dragonets ready for their metamorphosis, and trying to calm the worries of those who were scared. Synchronized dances to form pictures with their wing patterns, hide and seek games where the seeker only uses their antennae, murals of stories weaved together with silk. But unfortunately all of this is a what if.
The tragedy of the Silkwing tribe is that they don’t have that, nothing in their world was made for them. They have no way of finding out who they once were, what it means to be a Silkwing. They don’t get to weave tapestries of their stories, their homes or their happiness. Everything they make is a what if, a dream of a life they couldn’t achieve without tragedy.

My #1 post of 2022
So, in omen of the stars, Ivypool kills Antpelt’s spirit to become a dark forest warrior. It’s a scene we all know and love. But what bugs me about it is that nothing comes from that. Ivypool doesn’t learn anything new after becoming a dark forest warrior, and even if she did it’s doubtful she’d tell anyone anyway. Ivypool has this weird running theme in omen of the stars where everything she does doesn’t amount to anything plot wise. Cause while her chapters are important for establishing and exploring her character, if she wasn’t a protagonist not much would’ve changed in the main plot.
Antpelt’s death was tragic, and it’s horrifying in concept alone. For WindClan to have found their clanmate dying without knowing why, and then when StarClan and the Dark Forest were able to fight with or against the living cats, I’m sure someone from WindClan was looking for him. Ivypool is never confronted about this later though, meaning Breezepelt didn’t tell anyone what happened.
So, I feel like Ivypool should have had some sort of consequences for killing Antpelt. But because we have no protagonists in WindClan, we don’t even see how his clanmates reacted to his passing. So, what if she didn’t have to kill Antpelt? What if Ivypool had to kill her own clanmate, Blossomfall.
It would’ve been more dramatic. Ivypool being forced to kill her new friend and her clanmate. She would’ve seen how Blossomfall’s death impacted her clanmates. And how scared they probably were after finding her body with no enemy in sight. It would’ve been horrifying for Ivypool to be jerked awake by screaming, finding Bumblestripe standing panicked over his sister as she bled out in the warriors den.

Hi....If you don't mind, can I ask, what are your top 10 (or top 7) favorite media (can be books/ manga/ anime/movies/tv series)? Why do you love them? Sorry if you've answered this question before......Thanks....
hi! thanks for asking. oof, top 10 is so hard! there are some that are held in my heart simply because they were the show that introduced me to the genre and so i hold them in a warm light. and then there are shows that i think are really some of the best writings in tv.
since this is my asian media blog, i'll only mention asian media and entertainment. this is all i can think of at the moment aja;sdlfkdsj definitely missing a bunch more.
fruits basket: one of the most iconic shoujo manga/anime and it really introduced me to the world of manga at a young age. on that similar note...
naruto (the anime): i still remember watching the episodes on youtube (back when you were still allowed to upload copyrighted stuff lol). it very much made me more considerate of others and helped me have more empathy.
cherry magic (the live action and the movie): just phenomenal in yearning and earnestness and just !!! i cried when i watched the movie.
the starry love: a fun drama with so many likeable characters and great soundtrack
queen of attack: the first mini drama that grabbed my heart and never let go. loved the characters and the actors and the soundtrack and it just was emotionally compelling for me the whole time
a familiar stranger: same reason as above. great soundtrack. great cinematography. solid acting and storyline.
killer and healer: idk why i latched onto this drama so hard back in 2021???? i just gave it a try and became compelled by the actors and their characters and the strong bond between the characters. idk idk this drama lives in my head rent free.
goodbye my princess: this drama broke me. A+ in all the departments: production, costume, story, characters, soundtrack, acting. what a drama this was.
RRR: this movie said fuck the british/colonizers and i am here for it. it was dramatic, it was emotional, it was a rollercoaster and i loved every minute of it.

Decoded (2016) - not a ton of whump, but an interesting story Defying the Storm (2022) Hengshan Hospital (2021) Insect Totem (2023) Winter Begonia (2020) - again, not a ton of whump, but interesting story & good bromance (actually a "censored adaption") Killer And Healer (2021) - another "censored adaption" Ace Troops (2021) - dunno if this counts as republic era, imo the romance was pushed too much & they censored the whump too much, but not aweful Psych-Hunter (2020) Tientsin Mystic (2017) The Mystic Nine (2016) A League of Nobleman (2023) - not republic era, but the whump & bromance are fantastic! i just had to add it
I tell ya - it's hard to find good bromance without the forced romance getting in the way (especially when it comes to Chinese dramas 😒)...
Hope you find something you like!
Hey! Now, I’ve been having this craving for a whumpy bromance Chinese republic drama.
So pls! Give me suggestions! I only have two requirements! Whump, and bromance.
thank u in advance 💜

Tagged by my beloved @evil-moonlight (thank you Jin!)
Currently watching:
Drama wise, nothing really.  Nothing has really caught my interest.  I did just finish jumping through the Journey of Chongzi, just to see Wang Zhuocheng, Li Daikun, and Patrick Quan but other than that, I haven’t really gotten into anything.
Anime wise, I’m currently watching Buddy Daddies and the latest episode just took me out.  Like, someone fucking sniper-riffled me through the heart.  There are 3 more episodes but my fucking god if I have to go through more pain, I’m going to scream.  This fucking drama was supposed to be a cute and fun anime but no, it’s got me sobbing over here over two assassins trying to be good fucking dads for their little girl and I just... *unintelligible noises*
Rewatching:
Tumblr media
Killer and Healer.  Because of the Killer and Healer rewrite that I’m working on, I’m rewatching it for like the umpteenth time but god as I watch it, I’m noticing things I hadn’t noticed the first time I watch it and honestly?  Doing this rewrite has kind of shot me back to 2021 and I feel like I’m...experiencing Killer and Healer again for the first time.  Like, even though I know what’s going to happen, I’m still kind of like...on the edge of my seat for certain scenes?  Like I know what’s going to happen and when the scene happens it’s like, again, I’m watching it for the first time (but this time I think I’m crying more because I know what’s going to happen)
Looking forward to:
The Story of the Bat - like Jin, I want my Mao Zijun in a wuxia bromance drama.  I want it.  I want it so I can make it a Killer and Healer story because if I can’t have Mao Zijun and Ian Yi in a wuxia in reality, I’ll fucking make it a reality in fiction
Winner is King- I want to see Tian Jianci in this drama and it just looks interesting
Immortality - i’ve never read the original novel but it looks interesting and I think when it gets released, it’s going to be very big, like the Untamed, but probably bigger because we’ve waited so long for it
Love is Written in the Stars - Ian and Patrick are in a drama together again and while it might be a romance drama (which is not my drama) I will watch it for them.  But I swear to god, they better not make Patrick some sick character because my boy keeps getting casted as either an ill/dying/sick person and I’m like...I wanna see him be badass!  Like, he was cool as Yu Tangchun but like...can he just be healthy for one fucking drama please?
Chinese Paladin 4 - it has Wang Duo, Li Daikun, Baron Chen and Mao Zijun in the same drama and honestly...while it’s another romance drama the premise of the drama sounds interesting.  And I’m willing to watch for them.  Will I probably skip through the romance scenes?  Yup.  But it’s okay.  I’ll live
