Always have employment and references for your CV
Getting things at cost
Shitposting on the business Instagram
Regulars :)
Cons:
Conscripted to work on busy days
Family dinners are just business strategy meetings with mashed potatoes
“Hey the town is having this event did you wanna go?” “Can’t gotta work it’s gonna be busy that night”
Inventory when you full on know you stole something in high school and keep forgetting to take it off the inventory
“When I die and you take over the store…”
Coming back for the holidays and working the Christmas rush and Boxing Day
Coming back home on any occasion and being enlisted to do manual labour before even having set dates for your trip

“Approaching storm”
Morticia: Good morning, Wednesday. Are your friends awake?
Wednesday: no. Enid always sleeps until the last minute. Pressing snooze on her alarm until she sees me dressed ready to leave the room and then proceeds to scream at me for not waking her up. If I do try to wake up she screams at me for waking her up.
Eugene: -yawning- Good morning, Mrs Addams. Morning, Wednesday
Morticia: please, Eugene. Call me Morticia. Did you sleep well?
Eugene: I did. Oh my god! I- I-is that a Lion?
Wednesday: it just Kitty Kat. - there was someone behind the Lion trying to be sneaky- UNCLE FESTER!!
Morticia smiled at her brother. Wednesday happily leaped into his arms. Eugene was stunning at Wednesday’s emotional outburst
Wednesday: you made it!!
Fester: wouldn’t miss it for the world, Kiddo. Morticia says you have a big announcement. Has that fella I saw you with in the Nightshade library proposed?
Wednesday: ugh no. I am not interested in him. I have a girlfriend.
Fester: a girlfriend you say?
Wednesday: yes. Enid Sinclair. My roommate. You will officially meet her when she wakes up. This is Eugene. The beekeeper and my friend. Eugene, this is my Uncle Fester
Eugene: nice to meet you, sir -extending his hand only to get a slight electric shock shaking the bald man’s hand
Fester: -seeing a sleepy colorful blonde enter- You must be Enid. How you snagged Wednesday is beyond me but Welcome.
Enid was engulfed in a big hug
Gomez: Fester! You fiend. You made it. Lurch has gone to the airport for Cousin Itt and his family. They managed to make it out before the storm
Fester: ahh yes. Hurricane Mortimer. I was tempted to travel there to witness all the stranded tourists. It is always quite the sight. The storm has picked up intensity pretty quickly
Eugene snickered
Fester: what is so funny?
Enid: oh We have an an school mate out there! Wednesday? Do you still have the phone Xavier gave you? Does it even still work?
Wednesday: I do. It works. Why?
Eugene: you should text him! Ask if he’s enjoying the beach!
Wednesday smirked

Quite honestly I have to say that I actually really like Aang. Him being a happy-go-lucky, sweet kid is extremely important to the story, as bringing back a sense of fun to the people who have been experiencing war for so long is basically his narrative purpose. There's a purpose behind his personality, just as there should be in any narrative. However, I think anyone who engages critically with media has to aknowledge that he makes some bad decisions, especially when it comes to his treatment of Katara at the end of season three. Although I would personally argue that this is sexist writing and not congruent with the Aang we have seen for the entirety of the show leading up to DoBS (although people are also right when they point out the amount of emotional labor his position as the grand hero of the story and as a rather immature kiddo put on Katara), these are still mistakes that the character canonically makes. His treatment of Katara in previous seasons is still toxic behavior that I would argue is actually congruent with his character. The mistakes he makes throughout the series in other areas, such as hiding their father's location from Sokka and Katara, are canon decisions the character makes that are also definitely congruent with his character. But for whatever reason, a lot of the fandom refuses to recognize this. Most Aang/ Kat@ang stans put Aang on a pedestal and argue that nothing he's done throughout the series is exactly wrong. Nothing was wrong in his treatment of Katara, and if it is, he's naturally extremely sorry about it and should be forgiven despite the fact that we see no expression of guilt or remorse from him for, what I believe is the most glaring example, the EIP noncon kiss. So again, to restate, I don't hate Aang. I've never hated Aang. I like Aang. But unfortunately, because of the fandom representation of him, I have no interest in engaging in fan content about him. I have no interest in talking about the good things he does or the great decisions he makes outside of his decision not to kill Ozai, which, although greatly contested in the fandom, I completely agree with because of the narrative significance of Aang choosing to stick to his beliefs and the overarching theme of mercy, which we also see built up in many previous episodes such as TSR. Aang is the character that I would argue has been corrupted the most by the fandom. He's either viciously hated or hoisted into a position of perfection and frankly, I can deal with neither. Aang is a good character, but we should be able to have conversations critical of his actions. Aang is an extremely flawed and relatively underdeveloped character, but he is by no means evil incarnate, and I just wish that more people could recognize that both of those statements should and do coexist.

Silence drifted around the resistance camp like a noiseless fog, thick with tension and grief. Winter was nearing which only made it worse for everyone. Winter in the apocalypse was frigid and unforgiving, especially way up north where they were. Right now, everyone was getting a preview of the harsh storms to come.
Being underground helped a little bit. It was warmer here and much safer versus the freezing, kraang-ridden world on the outside. Niyah sighed as she felt herself sink into the well worn out couch she laid on. Her eyes glazed over the half of dozens of kids on a mat, all huddled together under a thick blanket. Niyah had the privilege to look after these bundles of energy while their parents were out fighting a losing battle against the kraang.
Niyah’s expression fell into a meager frown as she watched over the children. Her heart broke for the children who no longer had parents. Their parents had passed while fighting the war. They were all far too young to be forced to go through something like this.
A sigh heaved from Niyah’s lungs; the kids weren’t the only ones who lost loved ones. It’s been a few days since Raph passed away. It’s been affecting everyone, even the kids! But of course, It hurt his brothers the most. Leo has been MIA, spirits know where the hell he’s been, and Kat had to step up as leader for a while (being his second in command, it was kind of her job to do so). Mikey was helping Kat take care of everything and everyone but there was an obvious lack of energy in his step. He wasn’t as bubbly as he was but he hid it well. And then there was Donnie. He had been shut up in his lab for the better half of a week.
The door to his lab was always locked and rarely opened. Niyah has never seen it open but sometimes she leaves food out for him and when she comes back, the whole plate is gone. She suspects that Donnie opens the door to take it but then again, anything could’ve taken it. She worried if Donnie had been eating at all. She had begged him to come out or at least let her come in, but she was always met with silence.
She couldn’t blame him— he was grieving just like the rest of them. Niyah only wished that she could see him and help him. He didn’t always have to do things alone (and frankly, she was feeling a bit lonely without seeing him).
With a small groan, Niyah sat up and stretched, finally getting off the couch and started walking to the food court. It was about time Donnie should eat.
As she entered the cafeteria, she was greeted by Baron Draxum. When Draxum wasn’t a warring warrior scientist, he was (once again) just the lunch lady. With the help of Daxum’s leftover mutagen, he could mutate fruits and vegetables into way bigger versions of themselves, helping to feed the hundreds of people who joined the resistance. Thank the stars, the food was still edible and Mikey sometimes helped out in the kitchen (Donnie was tasked with growing all the mutated crops because of his not-so-secret love for botany). Things were looking pretty good food wise.
“Greetings, human. Finally coming to eat?” Draxum was behind a counter, already preparing a plate of tonight’s dinner. It was baked potatoes!
“Hey, Drax,” Niyah greeted. “Nah, I’m just getting Donnie his fill.” She feigned a smile as she leaned against the counter Draxum was at.
The other slightly frowned. “You have to eat too, you know.” He grumbled, placing baked potatoes on a plastic plate.
“I know, I know. Not hungry, though, I’ll be fine.” Niyah halfheartedly chuckled, “It’s not like I do much around here anyways. Everyone else is fighting for a meal and I’m just… doing nothing.” Her eyes were downcast, feeling guilt twinge in her soul. She could’ve been doing so much more than babysitting, she thought. Don’t get her wrong, she loved hanging out with the kiddos, but she could be doing things actually useful.
“Don’t act as if you don’t help around a lot. You do so much more than you realize.” He reassured while handing her two plates of baked potatoes.
“Draxum,” She sighed, “I said I’m not—”
“I know what you said, I’m not deaf.” He grunted, going to the back to do whatever he was doing. “Now, go eat.”
Draxum may seem big and scary, but deep deep deep down, he’s a pretty great guy. Niyah smiled a little while rolling her eyes. “Alright, alright. Thanks, Drax.”
He only hummed in response, “Just make sure that boy takes care of himself too. You know how he can be when he gets upset. Losing someone you care about is not easy.” Niyah’s smile dropped and she nodded almost robotically.
“I’m off,” she said, waving goodbye to him. He returned the wave halfheartedly and went back to cleaning up.
Niyah treaded down the quiet halls. Most people would be asleep right now after dinner. It was pretty late out anyway (she thinks. It’s hard to tell time underground), but Donnie would definitely be awake. He always was for the past few times she’s brought him food.
Niyah approached the door to Donnie’s lab, slightly hesitating before giving it a knock. “Hey Don, I got you food.” She spoke somewhat hopefully, but, like usual, he didn’t respond. She sighed, “Can you knock to let me know you’re here?”
A moment or two later, Niyah heard shuffling on the other side of the door. First, the screech of a chair against the floor, something beeping then shutting off, soft footsteps… two soft knocks sounded from the inside. Niyah smiled, he’s here.
“I’m gonna leave it out here, okay? In the front.” She placed one of the plates of baked potatoes in front of the door. Usually, she’d leave after dropping his food off, but something told her to stay.
A minute later, the lab door creaked open just a smidge. Niyah’s eyes instantly darted to the opened part of the doorway, freezing in place when she made eye contact with…
“Donnie.” She sucked in a breath, staring at nothing but his eye (the other was hidden by the door). He looked just as shocked to see her. For a second, they just stood there, staring, but Donnie snapped out of it and snatched the plate of food.
Niyah flinched at the sudden movement but blinked and shouted “Wait!” But she was too late. The door quickly shut, leaving her stunned. She tried putting an ear to the door to hear something— anything, but it was silent. Niyah frowned and let out a heavy sigh. She’s not gonna lie, she’s missed Donnie a lot. He started sleeping in the lab (if he’s even been sleeping at all) rather than the usual room they shared. It was harder to fall asleep without him there and it was a lot colder as well.
She didn’t want to be a bother to Donnie, but damn, did she miss him. She missed their ‘Good morning’s and their ‘Good night’s, she missed sharing meals together or just being in each other's company, she missed how he’d call her stunning and how she’d get to call him beautiful every day. She missed their hugs and their kisses, she missed their cuddling when it got cold and her dragging him to bed when he was so obviously tired.
Damn, did she miss him. Niyah wondered if that was what Donnie was feeling about Raph— missing everything they did together.
She sighed, pressing her back against the door and sliding to the floor. Sure, it’s only been four days, but it felt like it’d been four years. Donnie was a big part of her daily routine and most of her day involved him. But now that he wasn’t here, her day was suddenly empty. Niyah squeezed her eyes shut at the familiar stinging in her nose. She cried way too easily.
It was a silent cry, something rare for her. Maybe she just didn’t want to be heard or she was embarrassed for crying like this in front of a door that she couldn’t open. She still did that annoying hiccup-gasp-sob-thing that she hated doing. All she could really do was scream internally into a noiseless void where no one else but she could hear.
She tried to tell herself that she was acting like a child. Everyone else was going through something much worse than her and here she was crying on the floor. With that thought, she quickly wiped her tears away.
‘Stop crying, damn it,’ Niyah repeated in her head until her body obeyed. She took some deep breaths in an attempt to calm herself and wiped the already drying tears from her eyes. She just sat there with that extra plate of baked potatoes in her hands, deciding that she might as well eat them so they wouldn’t go to waste (even though she wasn’t hungry).
This was the closest she’d get to eating next to Donnie again, so she enjoyed what little she had. Pressing her back impossibly closer to the door, Niyah pretended (hoped) that Donnie was just on the other side doing the same.
Niyah perked up at the soft shuffling on the other side of the door. It was closer than she had thought. Like earlier, two soft knocks sounded from inside. He wanted to know if she was there. Niyah nearly cried again. She debated whether she’d knock or not (what if she didn’t knock and he’d open the door again?) but she decided to be honest and gave two soft knocks back.
She smiled. At least he was here.
Suddenly the door creaked open— Niyah nearly fell back, but she caught herself last minute.
“Donnie…?” she called, but was once again met with silence. Cautiously, she stood up, leaving the empty plate of potatoes on the floor (for someone so un-hungry, she sure did tear up that plate). She put her fingertips to the door, unsure of whether to enter or not, but she took a deep breath, pushed it open and quickly closed it behind her.
It took her eyes a moment to adjust to the dim lighting. Her eyes surveyed the dark room, spotting messy piles of blueprints and books littered around. A jungle of scrap metal was scattered across the room. She noticed the walls had scratch marks and cracks that definitely weren’t there before. In the corner of the room, she spotted an empty plate of baked potatoes. Well, at least he ate.
Niyah’s eyes landed on a disheveled Donatello who was sitting at his desk. He didn’t acknowledge her but he definitely knew she was there.
“Donnie?” Niyah echoed, taking a few slow steps forward, unsure if she should be close to him or give him space. Donnie blinked tiredly and turned his head to her, his eyes flitting across her face. All the staring was making Niyah a bit flustered.
When he saw her fidgeting, he smiled and signed a slow ‘Hey.’
Niyah smiled widely. He was talking to her (well, signing, but she’ll take what she can get)! “Hey,” she copied and walked closer to sit in the chair next to him. “Are you doing okay?” She asked, subconsciously signing the words she was saying.
His little smile faded. He hesitated, lifting his hands like he was going to sign, but he never did. He only sighed through his nose and placed his hands on the desk again. Niyah stared at him, head tilted and brows drawn together in worry. Instinctively, her hand moved to hover over his. “May I?”
He looked over to her, his gaze flickering between her hand and her eyes. Eventually, he nodded bashfully.
Niyah let out a breath she didn’t know she was holding and let her hand rest on top of his. Donnie’s hand was cold, it always was, but not like the harsh cold of winter. It was a refreshing kind of cold and it almost felt nostalgic to Niyah. She let the warmth of her hand seep into his as she watched him relax with a soft sigh. Slowly, he turned over his hand and let her palm touch his. They were calloused and firm, good for holding.
Niyah couldn’t help but feel giddy at the feeling. She was always giddy when it came to Donnie, no matter how long they’d been together. Everything they did felt like it was the first time again, from cuddling to kissing to holding hands. That spark was always there and Niyah admired it. A nervous smile made its way onto her face and the breathy laugh she let out caught Donnie’s attention.
He smiled warmly at her (spirits above, his smile was so beautiful) and moved his hand up her arm, to her shoulder, and finally let it rest on her cheek. Niyah leaned into his touch like she always did. She was so, so happy to see him again.
“I missed you,” she whispered, her eyes falling closed as Donnie cradled her face and let his thumb glide over her cheek softly. He exhaled and brushed a loc behind her ear affectionately as if he was saying ‘I know’.
“Why haven’t you talked to me all this time?” She suddenly asked. She felt Donnie’s fingers twitch anxiously. She opened her eyes to look up at him, a desperate tone in her voice, “Why are you trying to go through this alone?”
Donnie stayed silent, his eyes darting to the floor to avoid her persistent gaze. With a sigh, she whispered, “You’re not the only one who lost Raph, y’know.” This made him flinch and look up again. “We all did. We’re all sad and grieving, Donnie. Of course, not as heavily as you are, but you can’t just— you can’t push everyone away.”
She searched his light brown eyes desperately, feeling the sting in her nose again, but she ignored it. “Mikey and Leo need their brother right now. And I need my…” she trailed off. She had nearly called Donnie her husband even though they weren’t married. But it felt wrong to call him her boyfriend— they were so much more than just that. They practically were married but the title never stood anywhere. Niyah internally shook her head— why did that matter right now?!
“I-I need you too,” she stammered out, not knowing what else to say. Donnie just sat unmoving. Niyah searched his eyes for something— anything! Niyah had become better at reading Donnie’s expressions over the years. It was difficult at first (and sometimes it still is) but she caught onto all his tics and habits that determined his mood. Right now, however, Donnie was blank. He just slowly (and almost reluctantly) let his hand fall from her face. He no longer looked at her. Niyah nearly cried at that.
“Can you please say something? Or sign?” She pleaded but Donnie never responded or even looked her in the eye. She just wanted to help him in any way she could— it was what she was good at! Helping people was her thing! So why couldn’t she do it now? For a moment, she wondered if her being here wasn’t helping at all.
“Donnie,” she sighed, cupping his face with her left hand which made him let out a shaky breath and look up at her. “I’m here. And I’ll always be here when you need me. I love you and I want to help you, so please, just let me.” She pondered for a second and pulled her hand away, “Unless you want me to go?”
A look of alarm flashed in his eyes and he quickly grabbed her hands. “Stay,” he said hoarsely, his voice barely above a whisper. Niyah’s eyes widened a bit at his voice— hell, even Donnie looked surprised. He sounded like he was in pain, she knew he was, and it hurt seeing him like this. “Please?”
Well, she couldn’t say no to that. “Okay,” she whispered back. Donnie held her hands firmly as if she’d run away if he didn’t hold her tight enough. Swiftly, he pulled her into a hug.
Donnie initiating things like this wasn’t rare but it was uncommon even though they’d been together for years now. Hugging in this position was a bit awkward while they were both sitting down. Donnie acknowledged this and effortlessly picked Niyah up and placed her down on his lap where he could hug her tighter.
Niyah giggled as he nestled into the crook of her neck (he knew that it was ticklish to her). His arms were wrapped around her waist comfortably and he felt like putty in her hold; completely and utterly vulnerable.
She petted his head soothingly, trying her best to comfort him. “You’re okay, Don. You’re gonna be okay,” she muttered to him. He stayed like that for a long time, taking long inhales and quivering exhales. Niyah couldn’t even imagine what he was going through. She’s only known Raph for a few years, but Donnie’s known him all his life. Sure, Niyah has lost family members before, but she was never close to her family like that. She couldn’t even begin to comfort him because she’d never been in a situation like that before.
Niyah then wondered what it’d be like if she had lost her own brother who was safe in her original universe. She wondered if her brother was feeling like how Donnie was feeling, like he had suddenly lost a sibling. God, it’s been years since she last saw her family.
“There’s just… so much going on.” Donnie let out a shaky breath. It sounded like he desperately needed to cry. He held her tightly, refusing to let go as if she’d vanish if he did.
“I know, love, I know.” Niyah continued to snuggle into him. His breathing was heavy and ragged, he sounded strained like he was holding something back. Niyah frowned.
“You can cry if you need to, Donnie. It’s okay.”
And with that, he finally let all his walls down. He sobbed in her hold, hugging her tighter and tighter. It was a little hard to breathe, but that was okay. Niyah’s heart broke at the sound of his sobs. At times like these, she honestly didn’t know what to do.
Donnie doesn’t cry often (at least not in front of her) so when he did cry, it was devastating to her. He was usually a silent crier, just letting tears roll down his face while keeping his expression fairly neutral, so seeing him sob like this hit so much harder. Niyah pressed a small kiss to the side of his head, whispering over and over “It’s okay.”
When Donnie calmed down a bit, Niyah pulled away from the hug, but just enough to see him. She held his face in her hands and finally got a good look at him. His caramel eyes were glossy with tears. With her thumbs, Niyah hooked the bottom of his mask and gently lifted it up and off his face, revealing his beautiful, purple markings and his tired eyes. She wiped under his eyes as if to wipe the dark circles away.
“I miss him.” His eyes flashed with an emotion so deep that even Niyah couldn’t understand what it was. It looked like he was whirling around in a sea of depression and grief so deep that he was drowning in it. His eyes were filled with so much pain, it almost made Niyah cry too.
“I know you do. I miss him too.”
He closed his eyes and sighed as he leaned into her touch. “I… I’m scared,” He mumbled, voice wavering. Niyah’s eyes softened.
“About?”
He hesitantly opened his mouth to speak, “Who’s going to be next? Mikey? Leo? You?” Niyah couldn’t possibly generate a response to that, so he kept going.
“What if I get too close to someone, and— and then they die? What if you…” He trailed off, the tears in his eyes returning but not falling.
“No one lives forever,” She said honestly. “And yeah, someday I will die.” Donnie flinched at her words, but it was the truth.
“But living life is about making connections— memories with people you never thought you’d meet! Would you rather you’d never met Raph, wishing that you got to know him when you had the chance, or would you rather be happy that you got to know him and you have these good memories of him so he could live on in your mind?”
Donnie fell silent, mouth agape as if to say something, but that something never came. He just exhaled loudly and rested his head on her shoulder. “I don’t want anyone else to die,” he muttered in her ear.
Niyah’s hand made laps running from the top of his head to the base of his neck. “I’m afraid you can’t control that, Don,” she whispered back.
“I know I can’t,” he growled, gripping his hands at the bottom of Niyah’s jacket. He let out a breath and his grip relaxed. “I just… I don’t know what I’d do if you died.”
Niyah’s heart sank at that. Her hand paused in her soothing rubs for just a moment, before stuttering and starting up again.
“I won’t,” she said sternly (not realizing how stupid that sounded; she wasn’t immortal).
Donnie all but scoffed, “You can’t possibly promise something like that.”
“Maybe not.” She trailed, “But,” pulling away from Donnie just so he’d look at her again. With one of her hands, she cradled his face. His beautiful brown eyes looked up at her and she had nearly gotten lost in them.
“For as long as I live, I will always be there for you. Every step, every breath. That I can promise.” Her voice was filled with so much confidence and yet it was soft; reassuring.
Donnie seemingly searched her eyes for any sign of deceit but in the end, found nothing but truth. She meant to keep this promise.
He exhaled, letting his expression soften. “Okay,” he mumbled. “Same for me.”
Niyah only smiled, glazing over his features again. “Have you slept at all?” She asked suddenly. Donnie blinked and shook his head, seemingly ashamed. Niyah sighed gently, “Donnie…”
He darted his gaze to the floor and started fidgeting with the hem of her jacket. He looked so drained; so tired.
“Wanna take a nap?” She suggested, making Donnie perk up a bit. Shyly, he nodded again and Niyah smiled. She carefully climbed off him and held out her hand. He took it in an instant and she led him up and out of the lab.
Donnie closed the door behind them before they continued their trek to their room. On the way, Niyah had spotted Draxum walking past. He raised his eyebrows at the sight of Donnie, smiling slightly and Niyah sent him a wide smile back with a small thumbs up.
When they had finally reached their quarters, no one spoke. They didn’t need words anyway.
Niyah set Donnie’s mask down on a small nightstand and put her various other things away while Donnie mindlessly followed her around like a sleepy duckling. She turned to her lover and helped him remove his battle shell (that's been on for god knows how long), exposing his soft shell to the elements.
A small shiver ran up Donnie’s spine in the absence of his armor, but he didn’t feel one bit panicked or anxious. He felt safe. Niyah treated him so softly, she was impossibly gentle with him and it was so… different. Living with 3 other brothers, gentle was almost nowhere in their vocabulary. Donnie didn’t like the idea of being treated like glass, but Niyah never made him feel like that. She made him feel like he was precious, not fragile; knowing his strength but still taking the time to treat him softly. This was something new and sure it’s been years now but it still amazed him.
God, he loves her.
“I love you,” he whispered as she put his mechanical shell away to the side. She nearly flinched at how random it was, but she smiled all the same.
“I love you too.”
And with that, they both settled into bed (it was much warmer with Donnie here even if he was cold-blooded) and Donnie nestled in the base of her neck. Niyah traced gentle patterns of stars and hearts on his shell, letting him relax into sleep. She whispered sweet nothings to him, kissing his forehead and listening to his soft churring. He was out like a light.
Niyah pulled him closer once she heard his calm breathing and small snores. She felt so protective over him seeing him like this. She wanted nothing more than for him to be okay because he deserved to feel safe and happy. Niyah swore she was going to do everything in her power to make sure he was okay.
That was her promise.
Matching Donnie’s breathing pattern with her own, Niyah was soon washed over with a wave of fatigue. Finally, she closed her eyes and succumbed to sleep.

Cuddle Monster (E.M.)
Tumblr media
Pairing: Eddie Munson x Childhood Best Friend Reader
Warning: (smacks fanfiction) This baby holds so much fluff! Kids! Cuddling! CASUAL INTIMACY UP THE ASS!
Word: 487
Notes: I'm a second-grade teacher, and my kiddos still love to give hugs. I also have friends with kids the same age. Not gonna lie; some warm kid hugs just make my soul happy. This doesn't really push the story forward at all; it's a pleasant little interlude.
Also, my edible JUST kicked in. Enjoy!
Part 1 / Part 2 / Part 3 /
@kimmi-kat @feltonswifesworld87 @mrsmunsonxquinn @iguessyourejustwhatineeded @hahahafucku @emilyroxy @ihatepeanutss @mackyboo21
Ronnie Wayne Munson was his father's child.
Whenever you watched Ronnie, it was like seeing your best friend grow up all over again. But the similarities ran more profound than just sharing the same hair and colored eyes.
It was how they both poked their tongues out while in deep concentration to how they would fall asleep in full starfish mode; you enjoyed every bit of Ronnie Wayne Munson.
Especially the fact that he inherited his father's love language of physical touch.
Every time you were at their home, Ronnie would take you by the hand (after his father had welcomed you properly with a kiss) and had you sitting on the couch as soon as he could. Then he would proceed to climb into your lap, tiny arms around your neck and his warm body pressed against yours, as he told you about his day.
You'd had to chastize Eddie once or twice as he sat next to you on the couch. His arms crossed over his chest, and a pout on his plush lips, as his son slept in your arms.
"What's got your knickers in a twist?"
"You came to see me; I should be in your lap."
"Eddie, he's 4!"
"I mean, this level of disrespect in my own home is appalling. I will NOT let it go unanswered.”
“Jesus Christ, get over here you giant baby.”
Weekends are a sacred time for you and Eddie, but you can hear his tiny little feet creeping into your bedroom like clockwork every Saturday and Sunday.
You feign sleep, trying to hide your giggles as Ronnie huffs and puffs as he tries to climb into your bed. He always comes to your side of the bed since Eddie sleeps like the dead, and eventually, you pick him up and gently place him in the middle.
His warm, tiny body curls instinctively into you. You run your hand up and down his back to coax him back to sleep. You let out a yawn when Eddie stirs next to you.
"You two left me out? What's a guy got to do to get some damn cuddles in this place?"
"Eddie, the sun isn't even up yet. Can you wait until, like, 9 am to be weird?"
"Nope, cuddle me, NOW."
"But we're so warm and cozy here." You give him a sleepy grin, closing your eyes as he grumbles while inching towards you and his son.
"Gonna file a complaint with the Union, I tell ya. Can't get a cuddle from my woman. Can’t get a cuddle from my own begotten progeny, my very own flesh and blood..."
"Go to sleep, Eddie."
"Not until you tell me you love me."
Silence.
"Please?"
"Fine!" You lean in, and in seconds, Eddie's plush lips are softly pressed against yours. His arm lands on your waist, both of you creating a soft cocoon for Ronnie. "I love you."
"I love you too, Princess. Can I tell you something?"
"Tell me."
"This, all of us. It feels really nice, right?"
"It feels perfect." You feel lips against your forehead and calloused fingertips trace lazy patterns as you slowly fade back to sleep. "Wouldn't change it for a thing."

As Katherine enters Bobby's house, he warmly greets her with a big smile. "Hey there, kiddo! Excited to stay over tonight?" He crouches down to her level and ruffles her hair. Knowing her parents were wanting some alone time, Bobby had agreed to look after her for the night.
"Thanks again for having her tonight, Gem has been on my ass about spending more time alone together" Clay thanks Bobby at the door.
"Hey, no problem man. Happy to help out." Bobby responds with a friendly grin, placing a hand on Clay's shoulder. "You two deserve a night off. I'll take good care of her."
"Right well here's her bag everything she needs is in there. A change of clothes, pyjamas, tooth brush and just about all the stuffed animals Kat could squeeze in here, shes good at getting ready and going to bed on her own, you'd just need to make sure she brushes her teeth, she says she will do it, but check alright?"
Bobby chuckles softly, taking the bag from Clay. "Don't worry, I've got this. I know how to handle a kid. We'll have a blast together." He glances down at Katherine, winking playfully. "And don't worry, I'll make sure she brushes her teeth. Wouldn't want the little sweetheart waking up with a mouth full of candy fairies."
"Candy fairies?? What's that?" Katherine tilts her head up to Bobby her hands still clutching onto her dads.
Bobby grins, ruffling Katherine's hair again. "Ah, the candy fairies are mischievous creatures that only come out at night. They love to play tricks on kids like you who forget to brush their teeth. They'll swap your normal teeth for sweet, sugary ones while you're asleep. Trust me, you don't want to wake up with a mouth full of chocolate teeth, do you?"
"Daddy, please don't let the candy fairies take my teeth," Katherine says, staring up at her father, her eyes full of fear.
Clay looks at Bobby while crouching down to Katherine’s level, annoyed. "Thanks man, good job"
Bobby grins sheepishly, realizing he may have gone too far with his playful anecdote. "Ah, I'm just messing with ya, kid. The candy fairies aren't real, I promise."
He shoots an apologetic look at Clay, silently mouthing, "Sorry."
"Daddy I wanna go home where the candy fairies can't get me!!" Her eyes watering genuinely scared that fairies will take her teeth.
"Hey, hey, hey, calm down, sweetheart." Clay says gently, to console his upset daughter. He pulls Katherine into a hug, holding her close. "The candy fairies are just a silly story. They're not real. Daddy would never let any fairy take your teeth. You're safe, okay?" Clay says with certainty.
Bobby interjects apologetically, kneeling down next to them. "Yeah, that was my bad kiddo. I didn't mean to scare you. I was just being silly." He rubs the back of his neck sheepishly. "There are no candy fairies coming for your teeth tonight. You're safe with me, promise."
Katherine looks to her Dad for confirmation. Clay nods reassuringly, rubbing his daughter's back. "Listen to Bobby, sweetheart. He's telling the truth. There are no candy fairies, so you can relax and have a good time here tonight, okay?"
"Okay...but if they DO come you'll save me right? You wouldn't let them?" She says very seriously
Clay chuckles softly, finding her genuine concern cute."Oh, absolutely. If any candy fairies dare to show their faces here, I'll personally kick their butts. They won't stand a chance against me protecting my little princess."
Bobby grins, joining in with the playful reassurance. "And if they manage to sneak past your dad, I'll join him on the front line. We'll form an unbeatable team against those pesky candy fairies. You're safe with me, kiddo."
"O-okay..." she relents
"Atta girl now give me one last hug before I go." When she hugs her dad he picks her up and spins wanting her to laugh before he leaves.
Katherine giggles as her dad spins her around, her tiny hands clinging to his shoulders. Clay grins and sets her down, giving her one last squeeze.
"Alright sweetheart, behave for Bobby and do what he says, okay? me or your mom will come and pick you up tomorrow at lunchtime"
"No worries man. I'll take good care of her," Bobby reassures Clay. He pats the top of Katherine's head affectionately. "She'll be perfectly safe and have a great time with me while you enjoy some peace and quiet with your old lady."
Clay nods, looking at his daughter with a hint of lingering worry. "Thanks again, man. I knew I could count on you." He ruffles Katherine's hair one last time before heading back to the car. "See you later, kiddo. Sleep tight."
Katherine waves goodbye to her dad as he leaves not stopping until the car is out of sight. Bobby closes the door and turns back to Katherine, a warm smile on his face. "Well kiddo, it's just you and me now. Got any ideas on what we should do first?"
Katherine looks at Bobby for a moment before her eyes widen in excitement. "Can we bake something?! Jaxie says your good at making muffins and you must be really good cause when he eats them he get all giggly and smiley, but he never lets me try one...which isnt fair because he always takes one of the cookies mom makes me" she looking up at him innocently with a small frown on her face not understanding why she wasn't allowed to eat of Bobby's "special" muffins.
Bobby raises his eyebrows in surprise at her mentioning his weed muffins he makes for the club from time to time. He grins and nods. "Sure thing, kiddo. Baking it is. But we're making normal muffins, not the special kind your brothers talking about, alright? Your parents wouldn't be too happy about that."
Katherine pouts for a moment, looking slightly disappointed. "Aww, but Jaxie said you make the best muffins. Can I PLEASE have a special muffin? I promise I won't tell mom or daddy."
Bobby chuckles at her eagerness but shakes his head firmly. "Sorry darlin', but those special muffins aren't for kiddos like you. They're for grown-ups, okay? Let's stick to the regular ones, and hey, you might even find these ones to be pretty darn delicious too."
Katherine huffs slightly, clearly disappointed that she won't be able to taste the special muffins. But she quickly perks up, intrigued by the prospect of regular muffins. "Okay, okay. I guess regular muffins will do. But you better make them super yummy!"
Bobby grins, amused by her enthusiasm. "Don't you worry, darlin'. I'll whip up the tastiest kid safe muffins you've ever had. Trust me, by the time we're done, you'll forget all about those special ones your brother's been boasting about."
"Yayy!!" Katherine cheers, her disappointment quickly turning into excitement. "Let's start baking, please? I wanna help!" She looks up at him with big, innocent eyes, clearly eager to get her hands dirty.
Bobby chuckles, unable to resist her eagerness. "Of course sweetheart. You can be my little baking assistant. Let's find all of the ingredients first and get started."
*time skip*
Bobby chuckles as he looks around the flour-covered kitchen. "Looks like we've made quite the mess, huh? At least you're enjoying those blueberries, darlin'."
He glances at the oven, checking on the baking muffins. "Shouldn't be too much longer now before they're ready."
Katherine grins, blueberry juice staining the corners of her lips. "Mmm...these blueberries are so yummy! Can we put some on top of the muffins too?"
She swings her legs back and forth, her feet occasionally kicking against the cabinets below.
Bobby smiles at her blueberry stained face. "Sure thing, kiddo. We can add some blueberries to the top if you want. It'll make them extra pretty and tasty."
He grins as her feet kick against the cabinets. "Careful there, princess. You might end up denting my cabinets with those little kicks of yours."
"Sorry Bobby," she stops swinging her legs against the cabinets, opting to knock her shoes together instead.
Bobby, appreciating her attempt to cause less damage. "No worries, darlin'. Just trying to keep my cabinets in one piece, you know?"
He walks over to the oven, checking on the muffins again. "Looks like they're almost done. Just a few more minutes, and then we'll have some delicious, blueberry-topped muffins to enjoy. Why dont you go wash up and get into your pyjamas and by the time your done they will be cooked and cooled down enough to decorate, we'd just got to be careful not to make a mess of your clothes this time okay?"
"Okay!" Katherine hops off the counter, dusting off some flour from her clothes. "I'll go change, and I'll be really careful not to make a mess, I promise!"
She scurries off to the bathroom to wash up and change into her nightclothes.
Bobby chuckles as he watches her run off. "And don't forget to wash your face. You got blueberry juice all over it.
He turns his attention back to the messy kitchen and the almost finished muffins, keeping a watchful eye on them as he quickly cleans up and gets the icing ready.
After a few minutes, Katherine bounds back into the kitchen, now dressed in her soft, cozy pyjamas and her face clean. "I'm all ready! Are the muffins done yet? Can we decorate them now?"
Bobby smiles as she enters the kitchen, looking all cozy and ready for bed. "Perfect timing, darlin'. The muffins are just about cool enough now."
He gestures to the muffins, now sitting on a cooling rack. "Take a look, they turned out pretty good, if I do say so myself. And yes, we can start decorating them now."
Katherine's eyes widen as she looks at the cooled muffins. "They look so yummy! Can I put the icing and the blueberries on them, please? Can I? Please, please, please?" She bounces up and down in excitement, her eyes pleading with Bobby.
Bobby laughs, enjoying her enthusiasm. "Slow down, there. Of course you can help decorate, darlin'. You're my little baking assistant, after all."
He hands her the rest of the blueberries. "Here, ill spread a little icing on top then you can put the blueberries on."
"Yay!" Katherine exclaims, grabbing the blueberries excitedly.
With a grin on her face, she watches carefully as Bobby spreads the icing onto the top of the muffins. Then, with the greatest care, she starts placing the blueberries on top. She makes sure each muffin gets an equal amount.
Bobby watches as she carefully places the blueberries on the muffins. "Slow and steady, kiddo. You're doing a great job."
He can't help but smile at her focused expression, her tongue sticking out slightly as she concentrates on making each muffin look perfect.
"I'm doing a good job, huh?" Katherine looks up at Bobby for validation, her eyes sparkling with excitement.
She takes a step back to examine her work, admiring the array of blueberry-topped muffins. "I think they look really pretty, don't you think?"
Bobby nods in agreement, examining the decorative muffins. "You did a fantastic job, darlin'. They look almost too good to eat. Almost."
He chuckles, patting her hair gently. "You've got a real talent for decorating, kiddo."
"Thanks!" Katherine exclaims, her face lighting up at the praise.
"I'm glad you like them! Can we taste them now? I'm so excited to try them. I bet they're delicious!" She bounces up and down in a mixture of excitement and impatience, eager to taste their creation.
Bobby glances at the clock, noting that it is close to approaching her bedtime.
"I'm not sure your parents would be to happy about giving you sugar this close to your bed time" he says scratching the back of his neck....when he looks back at her her face now fallen her little heart broken at not getting to taste the muffins immediately...he hated that look ". .but I'll tell you what we can split one, after all proper bakers have to try their own creations when they're fresh...it's like a rule or something."
Katherine's disappointment quickly turns into a grin as Bobby suggests they split a muffin, using the excuse of it being a rule for bakers.
She giggles, her mood brightening instantly. "Okay, Bobby! We can follow the baker rules. A little taste won't hurt, right?"
"Not at all...but just to be safe best not mention it to your mom right away"
Katherine has a devious glint in her eyes. "Don't worry, I won't tell mom. It can be our little secret."
She hops on the counter again, eagerly looking at the muffins, her mouth watering. "So which one do we get to try first?"
Bobby grins, enjoying the little conspiratorial moment they were sharing. "You get to pick which one we try first, darlin'. Which muffin do you think looks the tastiest?"
Katherine ponders for a moment, studying each muffin carefully. Then, she points to one that has an extra generous helping of blueberries on top.
"That one! It has the most blueberries. I bet it'll be extra yummy!" she says, her eyes sparkling with excitement.
Bobby smiles, noticing her keen eye for the muffin with the most blueberries. "Ah, the one with the blueberry overload. A fine choice, kiddo. Let's give that a go."
He carefully plucks the chosen muffin from the rack and splits it in two, handing one half to Katherine on a plate while he just grabs his half in his hand.
"Be careful not to get any on your jammies, wouldn't wanna get any crumbs in your bed, not comfy at all" he shakes his head.
Katherine accepts her half of the muffin with glee, her hands already itching to take a bite. "I'll be careful, I promise!"
She looks at the muffin for a moment, admiring the blueberry-studded goodness before taking a big bite. Her eyes light up as the sweetness hits her tongue.
"Mmm...it's delicious!" she exclaims, her mouth still half full of muffin. Bobby grins as he watches her devour the muffin, her face expressing pure joy and deliciousness.
He chuckles as she talks with her mouth full, trying to hold back from laughing. "Slow down there, kiddo. Don't wanna choke on that muffin. Chew and swallow before you talk, alright?"
Katherine swallows her mouthful of muffin and nods, sheepishly. "Sorry, I got a little too excited. It just tastes so good!"
She takes a smaller bite this time, savouring the flavour and making sure to chew properly.
Bobby grins, glad that she's taking smaller bites now. "That's better, darlin'. No need to rush. Just enjoy it."
He takes a bite of his half of the muffin, enjoying the taste himself. "Can't say I disagree with you though, they taste pretty darn good."
Katherine takes another bite of her muffin, closing her eyes in pure bliss. "This is the best muffin I've ever had," she declares, her cheeks puffed out from the muffin inside her mouth.
She looks up at Bobby, her eyes sparkling. "Can i take some home so mommy and daddy can try?...but not Jax he's not allowed MY special muffins"
Bobby thinks her incorrect use of "special muffins" is adorable.
Bobby chuckles at her request and her claim of the muffins being her own. "Sure darlin', you can take some home for your mom and dad. I think they'd enjoy them."
He grins mischievously at her comment about Jax not being allowed any.
Katherine's smile widens at Bobby's agreement, but her expression quickly turns serious as she adds, "And you promise you won't give any to Jax? I want these muffins to be for mommy, daddy, and me only. Jax never shares his special muffins. Can you promise me that, Bobby? Please?"
Bobby holds up his hands in surrender, a playful smile on his face. "Alright, alright, I promise. Jax won't get any of these special muffins. They're all yours, your mom's, and your dad's. Consider them protected from any thieving Jax fingers."
"Yeah!" Katherine pumps her fist in the air, her determination clear. "These muffins are ours, and Jax can't have any."
She takes her last bite of her half of the muffin, her focus back on the tastiness at hand.
Bobby laughs, admiring her passion and possessiveness over the muffins. "You're very serious about this muffin situation. Never knew you had such a strong claim on them, darlin'."
He takes his final bite and looks down at her, a mischievous glint in his eye. "You sure you're not secretly a muffin dragon, protecting your treasure trove?"
Katherine grins, her imagination sparking at the idea of being a muffin-guarding dragon. "Maybe I am!" she declares playfully. "These muffins are my treasure, and I'll defend them like you, daddy, Jax and the rest of the club protect the town."
Bobby grins, loving her innocent and imaginative take. "Is that right? Well, I can see the resemblance. You've got that fierce protective fire in you for these tasty treats."
Katherine giggles, her imagination running wild. "Yeah! And if Jax even tries to come near my muffins, I'll transform into a fire-breathing dragon and chase him off!" she declares, miming breathing fire with her hands and mouth.
Bobby laughs heartily, unable to contain his amusement at her dramatic display. "Well, I wouldn't wanna be on the receiving end of your fire-breathing powers. That's for sure. Jax should probably stay away from your muffin stash, for his own good."
"uhuh...*yawn*...you'll help me right...*yawn*...you'd stop Jaxie too?" She says tiredly, the exciting afternoon events catching up with her.
Bobby nods, a warm smile on his face as he notes her tired expression. "Of course, darlin'. I'll be your muffin guardian too. No one, not even Jax, is stealing your special stash. You have my word on that."
He gently moves her hair out of her face, noticing her tired state. "Looks like it's nearing your bedtime."
"Aww...but I'm not..*yawns*..sleepy" she tries to protest.
Bobby chuckles softly, seeing right through her sleepy pout. "Uh huh, sure you're not.
He scoops her up gently, settling her against his chest. "Time to get you tucked into bed, darlin'. little dragons need their rest too."
Bobby cradles her gently, a tenderness in his actions as he carries her towards his spare bedroom.
She wraps her arms around his neck, clinging to him like a sleepy koala, too tired to argue further. "Mmm...Okay..." she mumbles, her eyelids already drooping.
When he makes it to the room he sees she has already arranged all her plush toys on the bed.
Bobby chuckles as he sees the array of plush toys on the bed, each one neatly arranged like a fluffy army. "Looks like your entire stuffed animal kingdom is attending the slumber party tonight," he remarks, gently placing her on the bed.
Katherine nods sleepily, reaching for a fluffy blue bunny and clutching it tightly to her chest. "Yep, Daddy says they watch you when you sleep to keep you safe, he got me lots."
Bobby grins, finding her innocence endearing. "Well, I feel safer already with all these watchful eyes."
He tucks her in, pulling the covers up to her chin. "You've got quite the protective plushie squad here, huh?"
"Mhm this ones the most special tho" she says holding up the blue bunny for him to see "Daddy won it for me at the fair, he was the last one left..*yawns* I wanted to win him so he wasn't alone anymore but I couldn't do it...*yawns"...Daddy tried all day and used up all his tickets....he had to buy more....and he won it for me..said its my job to look after him" she recalls her eyes fighting to stay open.
Bobby's heart warms at her story, the thought of Clay Morrow going through so much trouble to win the bunny for Katherine tugging at his heartstrings.
He brushes a strand of hair from her face and smiled softly. "That's quite a special bunny you got there, darlin'. He's lucky to have you looking after him."
Katherine nods, her voice growing more drowsy but her grip on the bunny tighter.
She stifles another yawn, her eyes fighting to stay open. "...Bobby?" she mumbles, looking up at him with heavy eyelids.
Bobby sits on the edge of the bed, his gentle gaze fixed on her. "Yeah, darlin'? What is it?"
"Maybe when we go to the fair next....you could come...and daddy could get you your own special bunny"
Bobby is caught off guard by her suggestion and the thoughtfulness behind it. He chuckles, the idea of his hardened biker self carrying around a stuffed bunny quite humorous.
"Oh, really? You think I need a special bunny too, huh?" he grins, trying not to let his heart melt any further.
"Mhmm...Mommy says you have a daughter but she doesn't live here with you anymore....but if you have a bunny...you wouldn't be on your own"
Bobby is taken aback by her innocent yet astute observation. He's so used to gruff club life that the thought of this little girl noticing his loneliness and wanting to help warms his heart.
He smiles softly, running his fingers through her hair. "You're quite the little perceptive one, aren't you? And your idea of me having a fluffy companion does have a certain charm to it, I must admit."
"You can borrow my bunny if you want...until daddy wins you your own"
Bobby's heart swells with affection for her generosity. "That's very sweet of you, darlin'. A loaner bunny for me. But I don't want to take your special bunny away from you...and I'm not sure how well he'll fit in at the clubhouse."
He chuckles, imagining the reactions of his club brothers seeing him with a stuffed bunny.
Katherine giggles softly, her eyes starting to close. "Mmm...it's okay, I'll share him...for now."
She holds out the bunny, offering it to him.
"Here, you can hold him for tonight...he'll keep you safe..promise"
Bobby takes the bunny from her, surprised at how soft and well-loved it feels in his hands. He looks down at the bunny's little black eyes, then back at Katherine, who is struggling to stay awake.
"Well, I can't refuse such a heartfelt offer, can I?" he murmurs, holding the bunny against his chest. "Thank you, darlin'."
Katherine smiles, satisfied with his agreement. She cuddles deeper into her pillow. "You're welcome...nighty night" she mumbles, her eyelids finally fluttering shut.
Bobby watches as she drifts into slumber, the peacefulness of the moment settling over him. He looks down at the bunny in his lap, a strange mix of emotions stirring in him.
He was, cradling this cute little toy because a young girl wanted him to feel less lonely.

the wet nurses had hesitated to leave cersei alone, but she had demanded they did. after all, they would not stray farther than outside the door. jaime had been there throughout the birth and now, finally the boy slept. cersei looked at the cradle where he lay swaddled with golden silk. she wanted to reach for him, to hold him close and guard him against what her brother suggested, but she could barely move.

cersei's body was heavy with exhaustion and there was still another child according to the septas. she wanted it out, but it was not ready, and now jaime was asking her to give them up. "you cannot ask that of me. jaime, my son could be king one day." she was haunted by her visit to the witch in her youth, but this would not be how she lost her children. "robert will never know." the boy sleeping next to her had a tuft of gleaming golden hair, and she presumed the other would as well. "would you ask me to go through all this again only for me to pretend they did not survive?" could he not see how much she suffered? she could not suffer the pain of labor only to have her children ripped from her arms.

VERY random question lol, but which one of the vamp kiddos is would you say was the hardest to deal with when they were teething?
Tiffany or Kat hands down. Mostly Tiff cause like her papa Pauly, she had an extra set of fangs on her canines and incisors. I mentioned a while ago that baby vampies start teething fangs right at the two month mark so they can start digesting and getting some blood in them [preferably intake from the boys] and Tiff had a very tough time. :[
Paul felt so guilty he spent a lot of nights and days letting her damn near chew his finger off to let Chrysta rest. She still had some tooth pains up until 7-ish but now she's got a nice pearly set of chompers.

                              ─── ・ 。゚☆: *.☽ .* :☆゚. ───
the sun was shining down brightly on the little beach town you and tom had grown to fall in love with. this place was your home for the summer, a home away from home. it was where you two had first met, where you realized you were in love with each other, where he taught you how to slow dance in the living room, all of it.
you smiled as tom parked the car in the driveway, nikki opening up the front door with a smile. you watched as she bent down onto her knees, laughing as she was suddenly trapped in 2 pairs of arms that belonged to your toddlers.
“grandma!”
“hey, kids,” she smiled, ruffling your son’s hair as she pulled them closer, “miss me?”
you smiled, “we did.”
she smiled back up at the two of you before hugging you both. you laughed into her embrace as she talked about how big the kids had gotten.
it was true, time flies when you’re having fun. and spending your dream life with the love of your life.
“c’mon, honey,” nikki said, waving you inside, “everyone’s inside.”
you and tom followed her inside and were immediately greeted with hugs and high fives. you smiled as you hugged your mom, the toddlers letting go as you approached, knowing it was your turn.
“hi, mom,” you smiled, hugging her. she hugged you back tightly, pulling tom in for a hug. he smiled, pulling away shortly after.
you three spent the next couple minutes catching up before the door opened again. you smiled as you watched austin walk through the door, his fiancé following close behind. you smiled at them, greeting them.
however, you were nearly knocked over when your little boy and girl came flying past you, “uncle austin!”
he smiled, crouching down as they both wrapped their arms around his neck, he picked them up, “hey, kiddos. listening to your mom?”
the kids laughed as you shook your head, “less and less everyday.”
“good,” your brother joked, “you two learn from the best.”
you rolled your eyes, playfully slapping his arm. you greeted his fiancé, making sure she felt comfortable before moving to sit back down next to your husband. you watched as your kids played with your brother, smiling as you leaned your head on his shoulder.
“tired?” he asked, putting an arm around you and drawing circles into your arm. you hummed back a response, to which he raised an eyebrow, “hmm?”
you nodded, “yeah, the kids woke me up early this morning because they were too excited.”
he laughed, kissing your hair, “we were them once, y’know. a long, long time ago.”
you smiled, “i know. its just hard to believe we’re not still that young. it’s like it went full circle.”
“well, if it helps, you’re still as beautiful as the day i met you.” he said and you rolled your eyes, pushing him gently as you both laughed.
“no, it doesn’t,” you giggled, turning to face him, “we’re not that old, are we?”
he shook his head, “nah, we’re still young. still full of hope.”
you laughed again, opening your mouth to say something until you were cut off by the sound of the doorbell. you spring up to your feet to answer, pulling open the door and smiling wide.
“hey, kat!” you smiled, pulling your best friend in for a hug.
she hugged you back tightly, “hey, hot stuff! where’re the kids?”
“outside with austin,” you smiled, “where’s yours?”
your question got answered as soon as you asked it, the little boy running past his mom and up the steps. you squatted down, opening your arms as he wrapped his little ones around your neck.
“there he is!” you laughed, picking him up as you stood up, “how’re you, bub? being good for mom?”
he gave a little smile as he nodded, “yeah!”
kat’s husband had joined her on the step with the bags. you said hi to him and walked inside with their son on your hip. immediately, he wanted to get down to run to uncle tom.
“uncle tom!” the little boy said. tom laughed as the boy came crashing into his legs.
“hey, brian! what’s up, little man?”
you smiled as you watched the interaction. if it wasn’t for the beach house, none of this would’ve been possible. you and the hollands wouldn’t had gotten so close, you and tom might not have ever ended up together.
and summers would’ve stayed boring forever. but now, they’re full of fun filled days and cozy nights, surrounded with all the people you love.
nothing could get better than this.

"Can you show me the pictures of your dog again? I especially like the one where she's really mad at you."
--- Grade 2 kiddo who has a toy poodle just like my dog was (his, Kit Kat, even used to be brown as a puppy like my dog was as a puppy too!).
