「JJK 265: YUUJI & THE MORNING GLORY」

[Beware of SPOILERS]

So, I’m sure that everyone who read chapter 265 has noticed Yuuji mistaking hydrangea for morning glory. And I feel like it’s just more than a ‘subtle detail’, especially when the crayfish panels next to this also symbolized something. Not saying this is canon or anything, but I'm going to analyze the connection between Yuuji & the Morning Glory.

(This is gonna be interesting, I assure you ;)

THE MORNING GLORY

Morning Glory, or 朝顔 [Asagao] is an extremely popular flower in Japan. Although it is believed that they were introduced to Japan in the Heian period (794 - 1185), it was particularly loved in the Edo period (1603 - 1867). Books were even illustrated about it back then. 朝顔三十六花撰 (Asagao Sanju Rokka Sen) is a famous book that dates back to 1854, which displays beautiful illustrations of the Morning Glory.

But what does it symbolize, you ask? Well, in Japan, the Morning Glory is known for its momentary beauty, with the early bloom and decline of the flower. It blooms fresh in the morning, however, its petals close at noon. It is also associated with passionate love:

The Morning Glory also symbolizes the hot summer in Japan, with the Morning Glory Iriya Market Festival taking the lead place every year from July 6-8.

With all these details in mind, how does it connect with Yuuji?

THE CONNECTION

Well, the momentary blossom of the flower can represent the fleeting happiness in Yuuji’s life.

Yuuji’s lifetime wasn’t the best, but before Sukuna trampled on his everything, he was a fresh boy who was carefree and enjoyed life in his own way. The small period between him enrolling in Jujutsu High and Shibuya Arc rose as a happy experience for him with his newly made friends.

Also, remember in this chapter that he was recalling little happy moments in his childhood before Sukuna interrupted him.

Moreover, he lost every loved one he made through Jujutsu High. Nanami exploded, Kugisaki’s head blew up, Gojo split in half, Choso vanished into particles. The only one left who’s actually close to Yuuji is Fushiguro. But Sukuna took Fushiguro too. And he’s about to kill him as well, meaning that the last strand of Yuuji’s momentary happiness is about to disappear.

It could also mean that Yuuji’s life is slowly coming to an end, with the petals of his lifeline slowly closing, despite being so young and fresh.

In this chapter, Yuuji makes a bargain to Sukuna that if Sukuna let go of Megumi, he’ll let Sukuna live inside him with Yuuji as the host. This is quite a good solution on its own. However, when you remember their first plan back in the beginning of Jujutsu Kaisen, it becomes a huge possibility that Yuuji will kill himself along with Sukuna to ensure everyone’s safety this time.

Even if Yuuji is convinced to stay alive, not a lot of people would be in his favor because he’s holding in the very person that was about to kill all of them, so he’ll probably get executed in one way or the other.

For now I’m here, but can one trust the future? No, not in a world that teaches us its ways with the morning glory

神島にて、三島由紀夫が『潮騒』取材中に滞在していた寺田家を、宿泊した旅館にお願いして案内してもらいました。

①寺田家に続く階段

②『潮騒』の登場人物、漁業協同組合長「宮田照吉」のモデルになった寺田宗一さん宅。現在はどなたも居住されていません。

③寺田家の屋根越しに臨む景色。島の電気供給に大切なケーブルは、まるで空に線を引いたように見えます。

④玄関を入ってすぐ。左側には原作の通り、急な傾斜の梯子階段がありますが、本当に梯子のように急な傾斜で撮影出来ませんでした。

⑤三島由紀夫が朝6時半に起きる毎日を過ごしていた2階のお部屋。

⑥2階の窓から三島由紀夫も眺めたと思われる眺望。

⑦三島由紀夫から寺田宗一さんへの贈り物など、所縁の品々。赤い机は当時、三島由紀夫が実際に使用していたもの。奥に山口百恵さんのパネルが❗️

当時、28歳だった三島由紀夫が、

人口は昭和28年当時、1,200〜1,300人となっていますが、2022年で402人に…。澄んだ海のように島の人々は快活、気さく、親切で働き者ばかり、しかし荒波で知られる伊勢湾の海を相手に命懸けの漁業をされるのですから、遊びに来たのがちょっぴり恥ずかしくなるような旅でした。

A/N: I am sorry for being gone for so long! I will be getting around to requests very soon. There will be a headcanon about broken bones in here.

Kaminari absolutely loves being bench pressed, something about the fact his boyfriend was strong enough to bench press him.. it made him go unto whey mode just thinking about it.

Kirishima absolutely adores watching Denki walk around in the black leather skirt that he found in the back of Mina's wardrobe. Just seeing the amount of confidence that Kaminari gains in them makes him happy.

Kirishima hangs mistletoe and stands under it. Kaminari doesn't know what mistletoe is and doesn't understand why Kirishima has been standing under the weird ceiling booger for ten minutes

Ever since Kaminari first saw Kirishima without dyed hair, he makes it a point to try and see him like that as often as possible because Kami loves how vibrant Kiri’s eyes look with his black hair.

Kaminari always wears Kirishima 's clothes. Kirishima ends up saying 'keep it' cause Kaminari looks so cute. But Kirishima is steadily running out of clothes.

Kaminari found a huge stress reliever in art, but one day the poor boy broke his wrist. So Eijirou tries to help him make 'abstract art' to make him feel better.
