Why? [ Kamado Siblings ]
Tumblr media
Samrsgyi note: Hope everything's okay with you guys, but just imagine nezuko and tanjiro with a suicidal reader can you imagine 😰
Tanjiro x Nezuko x Suicidal! Reader
( Shinobu is mentioned )
Reader is 13 years old
Warnings ⚠️: Angst, hurt/comfort, mentions of suicide, fluff at the end
Summary: Y/N feels numb from rengoku's death knowing that she now suffers from PTSD and anxiety. The Kamado siblings are worried about them and try to figure out a solution to help them calm down and make it through with some comfort.
( Nezuko can speak in this one but it's not an au!!! )
Enjoy🫀!!!
It was just like any other regular day. You had lost the sparks in your eyes since rengoku's death. You never wanted this to happen, you wanted him to live but I guess that was all a lie. You headed into the butterfly mansion to go into one of the beds and snuggle up with the blanket covering you. Your eyes filled up with water and started pouring out of them. Today you were supposed to help Aoi with folding the sheets but you were too sad to. Tanjiro was outside training for the final selection while Nezuko was just sleeping in the box. Nezuko was sleeping until something interrupted her nap. It was something that sounded like soft cries and short gasps. Nezuko got out of her box and saw you snuggled up in the bed and crawled over to you. She sat on the bed and poked you. You got startled and realized it was only Nezuko.
" Oh hi Nezuko-chan, you okay ?"
" Mhm "
" That's great."
You smiled with tears still rolling down your face and you slightly starting to calm down and keep your composure. Nezuko looked confused and hugged you. You put your hand on her head and held her close so that she wouldn't go.
" Are you ok y/n, you're...crying "
You paused for a moment and remembered seeing rengoku covered in blood. It scared you so bad that you could fully imagine it happening to any of your friends or the rest of hashira. You finally found your voice
" I'm fine it's just y'know allergies got me. "
"...Are you sure? It doesn't look like allergies to me at all."
" I-I-I...I'm just feeling a little numb from rengoku's death."
" Oh..."
Nezuko felt bad for you because usually she had dealt with her brother going through emotional numbing and bad memories but, never you. She leaned in to give you one more hug and you held her tightly making sure to loosen your grip a little bit making sure she doesn't leave. You don't wanna have to lose her as well nor anybody at all. You were gonna make sure it never happened. Soon as then you heard footsteps from inside you looked to see who it was when you were still hugging Nezuko. It was tanjiro. He looked at you and saw you crying and a sad smile went on his face and he rushed to you to give you a hug. He hugged you tight knowing that you needed comfort.
" Y/N are you ok, is something wrong?"
" I um...just sad about rengoku's death."
Tanjiro paused realizing what you had said and almost lost his spark remembering rengoku's death and wanting to cry but, he held it back not wanting to be emotional right in front of you.
" Oh y/n...we're all upset about it. "
" IT'S JUST THAT-"
Y/N burst out in anger and sadness.
" HE COULD'VE LIVED AND WENT ON HAPPY ABOUT HIS LIFE TO SEE HIS FAMILY BUT, NO."
Y/N let out all the sadness and anger they had and realized what they had done. They finally decided to confess to them.
" I've...I've been, um, over-dosing on pills for the past couple of days and wanting to kill myself. "
Tanjiro and Nezuko were in shock and had replayed the words in their head over and over and over. Nezuko hugged you tighter and tanjiro's eyes started to swell up with water and hugged you as well as Nezuko had done. You started to cry.
" Y-Y/N, why didn't you tell me? I was worried something like this would've happened." Said tanjiro
" Y/N, please tell me you won't ever try to do those things to yourself ever, okay I can't lose you, please." Said Nezuko
Your eyes swelled up with even more tears and you cried in agony and pain wishing his death didn't happen. Once you stopped crying, You, Nezuko and Tanjiro had all snuggled up on the bed making sure none of you ever got loose from each others grip. Once then, shinobu came in and saw all of you snuggled on the bed. She took the blanket and covered it on all of you making sure not to wake you guys up. You all snuggled as the sunlight shone through the window.
End
( I almost cried while writing this )

How to wear a Kimono
Tumblr media
Tanjiro x fem reader
You’re something that i’ll never grow tired of
Tanjiro frowned upon your reaction. It seems that you weren’t happy at all with his gift... Ah! He should’ve known better! Of course it wasn’t to your liking.. he felt disappointed in himself thinking he had already failed you as a husband.
“I’m so sorry.. i was at the shop when i saw this. Maybe we could browse together sometimes to see another one that fits your preferences?..” He nervously laughed, how he tried to hide his disappointment broke your heart.
“No no! It’s not that i swear!!” You retort. Flailing your hands around in panic, trying to convince your husband that what he thought was not the case at all. “It’s more more than lovely”.
You smiled down the light kimono in your hands. The beautiful fabric felt softer than any of the yukata you have ever worn in your life, you could stare forever at the intricate floral designs on the kimono. It was enchanting how detailed it was while still being subtle. It perfectly matched the beautiful and rich color of the Obi.
Perhaps after a week of being married to you you, Tanjiro had already noticed how you didn’t own any Kimono in your possession. Your side of the closet only contained various versions of your old demon slayer uniforms and some tattered Yukata here and there.
It was a thoughtful gift. You would treasure it forever if you could. But you knew Tanjiro would be a lot happier if he sees you wore and appreciate it rather than to have it sit in the dark to collect dust. But that’s exactly the problem..
“Tanjiro.. i don’t know how to wear a kimono”
Least you could say, the evident expression of disappointment on his face was replaced to one of shock and guilt.
It’s not like he pitied you or anything of sorts. It’s more like he felt guilty that he didn’t put your background into consideration. You had once told him that you were dirt poor. You and your family could barely afford food and shelter. Let alone afford new clothes..
Even as a demon slayer Tanjiro knows that you mainly only worn your demon slayer uniform or the patient attire everytime you’re recovering at the butterfly mansion. Maybe it was for the fact he saw you so less with your homely and normal Yukatas that he couldn’t put 2 and 2 together and come to a realization himself that the first time he actually saw you in a kimono was at your wedding.
So Tanjiro feels that it was rightfully stupid of him to not see that coming.
“I see… but you don’t have to worry about that my love!” Though Tanjiro recovered fast, that bright smile finding it’s way again to the corner of his lips
“‘Cause i’ll be here to teach you”
It was embarrassing to have your husband of all people teach you how to put on your clothes but you weren’t going to decline his help seeing the glimmer in his eyes.
Step 1: Undergarments
Well you can get that down by yourself, though the part you were worried about was to stood in front of Tanjiro in only your undergarments.
But when it finally came to it, you felt an odd sense of security. You didn’t mind his presence at all… maybe it was because of the way Tanjiro prioritized your boundaries above all else in this moment, she doesn’t waste time to oogle at you or say anything. In fact she just smiled at you and moved on. Nudity isn’t something to be embarrassed about in marriage, Tanjiro understood that it was normal and it made you feel safe.
If anything, he was just worried that you might get cold. So he hurried to put on the petty coat of the Kimono.
Step 2: First layer
The next step was the first layer of the Kimono.
“This is the first layer, lift your hands please” he asked, the Nagajuban was ready in his hands
You did as he asked, allowing him to wrap the Nagajuban in place, he did so left over right.
“Can you hold this for me? Your collar needs adjusting”
You nodded, taking the end of the front of the Nagajuban while he adjusted the back of your collar to not touch the back of your neck. You wondered what took him so long for him to just stood there.
“Tanjiro-!”
He got distracted. He just couldn’t help himself but place a kiss in the back of your neck
“Sorry sorry!” He apologized for his surprise attack, despite not being sorry at all. Before he started to wrap the Date-jime on the underwire of your torso.
“Remember, the Date-jime should be on your underwire, not your torso”
“Right..” you say mindlessly, your mind still replaying the kiss he had gave you just a moment ago, as he secured the Date-jime in place, looking at him intently.
But before you could admire him any longer, he was already done.
Step 3: Kimono
Finally you had come to the part where you could put on your Kimono, it would be a lie if you said you weren’t looking forward to it. Though as he slipped the fabric for you, from the sleeves to your torso, you realized that it was long. The fabric of the Kimono reached all the way down to the floor.
“It’s a bit long isn’t it?” You nervously asked, afraid you might stomp on it if you were to wear it outside like this.
“Well don’t worry about that” he lifted the fabric on your bodice to the length of your heel “you’re supposed to wrap it around like this to lift it dear”
He calmly explained, watching your surprised look seeing the kimono secured in place with a Koshi-himo
“Woah! It’s shorter now” you walked to the mirror, as if in awe. Tanjiro finds your child-lie wonder endearing. Though truthfully it wasn’t anything impressive
“It’s nothing special really” he tried to humble himself. It wasn’t out of the ordinary for him. He grew up in a big family. Teaching his siblings to dress themselves weren’t much of his duty. But he was willing to do so in order to help his mother. But the fact that he loves his siblings didn’t make it as much as a chore as anyone else think it is, after all he loved them with all his heart. It didn’t need to be his duty. He’d do it no question asked.
Well… he still loves them. He did and he always will.
And now you’re his family too.
Step 3: obi
After securing your Kimono in place Tanjiro carefully wrapped the second Date-jime before securing it in place once again.
“My love, i’ve lost count of the many belts that you had wrapped on my torso by now” you sighed, knowing there’s still more in store for you.
Tanjiro only laughed charmingly before placing a sweet kiss on your cheek.
“We’re almost done, don’t worry”
By now, he had moved to tie your obi for you. The long sash of obi had already been sewn and altered so that you didn’t have to fold it before using it.
You watched Tanjiro’s focused face on your mirror as he stood behind you once again to carefully tie your Obi. You quite didn’t understand how he was able to do that because after defeating Muzan, he wasn’t able to move his regenerated left arm from forearm down, it was quite amazing what he was doing right now. He had been talking for a few minutes about how to tie it, but you weren’t exactly focusing. This time you were the one who was distracted. Your mind wandered to how you had wanted for him to kiss you again. But you knew it was an endless pursuit cause after one and the other, you’d only grown to want more.
Tanjiro moved to tie the Obi-Jime so that your obi wouldn’t fall apart. But it wasn’t before he was done with the finishing part (Obi-age, for a touch of color, some would say) was when he realized you weren’t paying attention. You weren’t paying attention to the kimono at least..
“Did you get that?” Tanjiro tested and with his words you were pulled to reality
“Wha- huh?” You said, finally snapping out of it
“Oh.. i’m sorry Tanjiro. I don’t think i quite understood” you say, only a little guilty.
Maybe other people would be annoyed to be face with this predicament. But Tanjiro was Tanjiro.
“That’s fine” he said, smoothing out a few parts of your Kimono absentmindedly
“In fact you don’t even have to learn”
“Huh? What ever do you mean Tanjiro??”
You were confused at his words, was he angry at you? You wouldn’t say his tone or expression is exactly angry..
“What i mean is that you don’t need to learn how to wear a Kimono because i can just dress you everytime you need” he had said, his beaming smile were brighter than the sun itself.
But his statement was jarring. You couldn’t possibly let him do that!..
“No- no! You can’t possibly do that? I wouldn’t want to burden you..”
After the battle agaisnt Muzan, your body had became injured greatly, least to say some parts doesn’t work as well as it used to. You already need his help as it is and now you’re burdening him with dressing you? That’s unacceptable. And suddenly, it wasn’t about the Kimono anymore, and Tanjiro wasn’t that dense to not notice
“Do you honestly think that i don’t enjoy every second i spent catering to your needs?” He’s so sickeningly sweet. Sometimes it feels like you’re going to get a toothache being married to him.
“Darling, your stubborness is both your best and worst quality” you said, you didn’t know what you did to deserve him.
You held his hands in yours, one was wrinkled and skeletal and the other still had callouses from his days as a demon slayer
“If i could spend the rest of my days to make you happy then i’d be the happiest man alive”
What a waste of precious time. You thought
As same as Tanjiro, you had also unlocked your demon slayer mark. You and Tanjiro didn’t have that much time left, only having a few years till you were 25 years old.
But with so little time you became to realize that you couldn’t help but wish you’d spend it all with him, you know you’d be yearning for more. But how can you not be greedy when this is the person you’re spending the rest of your life with?
“Do you honestly think that i’m not my happiest when i’m with you?” your words paralled his from earlier. Tanjiro couldn’t contain himself but to embrace you, you could basically feel his smile radiating off of him.
Though he was careful to not mess up your Kimono. Not that he wouldn’t fix it for you no matter how messed up it became anyways.
In that moment, he secretely hoped that you would never learn how to wear your Kimono yourself, so that he could just do it for you instead. Not that you objected upon his proposal from earlier.
+bonus:
“Darling, i know how to put on socks already”
He carefully held your feet, slipping the Tabi socks so that it fits perfectly. He had handpicked a geta that perfectly matched your Kimono in advance, wanting to doll you up.
“I know that” you got up instinctively with him. Following his actions were a habit that you hadn’t even realized you developed.
He lead you to the mirror, beaming in excitement to show you the final results.
“Tada!” He beamed. Presenting yourself to the mirror. Though he immediately got distracted upon taking your full image. He could just sigh in awe every moment he looks at you.
“My wife is so beautiful..” he sighed again. Lifting your hands to place multiple kisses on it not wanting to mess up your perfectly done hair and make up.
You and your husband spent an hour dressing yourself up with zero intention of going out. Though Tanjiro still finds it wasteful to ruin your shared efforts just yet.
But maybe that thought quickly dissipated away with the pleading pout on your lips, wanting a kiss.
His face grew red at your expression, he finds you so incredibly adorable, he couldn’t even bring himself to resist you. There were no words needed to bring himself to close the distance
(A/N:I watched multiple tutorials on how to wear a kimono for this fanfic💀💀 it was mainly based on this video tho. Tho i didn’t get into detail and i erased some parts of the Kimono that was used in this video that may not had existed in the Taisho era. If you’re looking for a real tutorial tho, watch here if you’re rlly curious. Also the lady’s voice there was rlly calming lmao i think i almost fell asleep while taking notes and writing this)

Fluff
Tanjiro Kamado x Reader
✧*。✧*。✧*。✧*。✧*。✧*。✧*。✧*。✧*。✧*
Dating the selfless, the greenest flag, and a slayer who's constantly in danger got to be the most amazing and stupidest thing you have committed to at the same time. His kind hearted nature never fails to amaze you but it comes to the point where it is frustrating because of his selfless nature. But are you wondering how he shows his affection to you?
✧*。✧*。✧*。✧*。✧*。✧*。✧*。✧*。✧*。✧*
✧He's your boyfriend? YOU ARE SO LUCKY THEN. What green flag? He's not just a green flag, He is the whole damn forest! His haori is green, he is just such a green flag!
✧ You're wondering what is his love language? HE HAVE ALL OF THOSE. He doesn't prefer any love languages. He does all of them!
✧But if he notice that there's love language that you prefer? He'll take note of that and focus on that even though he rather does all of those languages because he knows you deserve the world.
✧Your love language is words of affirmation? He'll shower you with the most kind, gentle, and compliments!
✧ "You're beautiful as ever!" "Your hands are really cute! Let me hold!" "Wow [Name]! You're really amazing, aren't you?"
✧ You prefer act of service? He's willing to be your slave then!
✧ "Let me do that for you, [Name]!" "[Name], Can i help you please?"
✧ You love quality time? He'll spend his rest days with you and nezuko! If nezuko is sleeping, then you get all of his attention then!
✧"Let's stay a little more longer please?" "Nezuko is sleeping and I want to spend my time with you, [Name]!"
✧You like physical touch? No way! He likes it too! Being safe in your arms or reverse gotta be his priority after a long day of training.
✧"[Name], Can we cuddle before sleeping?" "Can I hug you please? I'm kinda tired.."
✧ receiving gifts is your affirmation? No problem! Though he prefers giving you handmade gifts like letters and paper flowers! He genuinely believes that handmade gifts are made with heart and love and he'll never fail to put effort on little gifts he'll always make at night.
✧ "I hope you like this ..I just made this but i hope you appreciate it!" "[Name], this is not much but here- Don't read it yet though!"
✧*。✧*。✧*。✧*。✧*。✧*。✧*。✧*。✧*。✧*
After a long day of harsh and demanding training, Tanjiro wants nothing but to be in your presence once more. He knows you won't be back before him, so he patiently waits for you after your training.
Once you arrive, he immediately hugs you, wrapping his arms around your waist and snuggling on your shoulder.
"welcome back! [Name]!"
After settling both on your futon, where Nezuko is asleep just beside the two of you. Both you and Tanjiro lay down as you cuddle to him. He's caressing your cheeks, staring in your eyes, pouring his love for you.
"You're really stunning... beautiful..How can I get so lucky to have you?"
"How can I get so lucky to have you!"
"No, You!"
"No, You!"
You both laughed at the stubbornness of the both of you as you smile at each other.
"I'm so lucky to have you, [Name]."

It has been five years since you last saw your family. You were thirteen and as the eldest child you were sent to the nearest town for some errands for your parents. You never came back. People of the town were kind ones, but the newcomers were not. A pretty young girl of your age couldn't do much against several adult men.
And that's how you were kidnapped. You tried to escape several times only to be caught again. For months they kept you trying to sell for the highest price.
Strangely enough you were saved by a demon. It killed your captors but spared you. Demon Slayers found you later and brought you to the Butterfly mansion to treat your wounds. Having witnessed the terrors of demons first-hand, you understood how important their job is. Although you were not suited to be a Slayer yourself due to your lack of physical strength, your kindness, patience and desire to learn and help people around you allowed you to stay in the Butterfly mansion as a nurse. You tried to contact your family to let them know you're alive, but it seemed that no letters reached them and you were too young to travel there on foot.
Two years ago you finally managed to get to your house only to find it empty with five graves nearby. The Slayer who accompanied you confirmed that that was most likely the demon attack. Somebody must have found the bodies of your parents and younger siblings and buried them. You cried in front of the graves and then left with the newfound resolve to help the Slayers defeat demons as soon as possible.
During your years in the Butterfly mansion you'd met different people, treated all kinds of wounds and made friends. Even the Wind Hashira was surprisingly nice to you as you won his heart with your kindness and some ohagi. But the one who caught your heart was the shy and aloof Water Hashira. You and Giyuu spoke little to none words to each other but you admired him greatly. Though you never acted on your feelings as you noticed that perhaps there was something between him and the Insect Hashira so you only could love him from afar.
○○○○○○○○○○○○○○○○○○○○○○○○○○○○○○○○○○○○○○○
For the last couple of days you were busy with some errands for Shinobu in the nearby town so you were blissfully unaware of the ruckus caused by the certain trio of Demon Slayers and a demon girl.
When you arrived at the mansion the noises from one of the rooms immediately caught your attention. Entering the room you found an exhausted Aoi and a loud blond who apparently complained about the bitterness of his medicine. You decided to help your friend and approached the blond's bed not noticing two other people in the room.
“What's going on here?” You smiled at the blond boy.
“This is so bitter!! I don't wanna drink it, I'd rather…” the boy paused and looked at you suspiciously. You looked so familiar but he was certain that he had never seen you before.
You sighed and gestered Aoi that you'd handle it. The girl was more than happy to leave everything in your hands and left the room. You turned your attention to the boy and tried to convince him to drink his medicine:
“It's alright. I understand that's bitter, but don't you want to get better?” You smiled at him and Zenitsu almost fainted at the sight: your smile was so bright, he was sure it could cure him without this disgusting drink.
“You're such a nice boy, don't you want to be strong and healthy?” You patted his head. “Can you do it for me?”
Zenitsu could swear he saw an angel that day and that's why he bravely drank his medicine. He was so captivated by your beauty and kindness that he even didn't notice the taste.
“You're such a good boy!” You praised and the boy's face turned bright red. “What's your name?”
“A-agatsuma Zenitsu, ni-nice to meet you..?”
“My name is Kamado (y/n). Nice to meet you, Zenitsu” you smiled and patted his head again.
“Ka-kamado??” Zenitsu turned to his left to look at Tanjiro with wide eyes.
This made you turn as well and then you finally noticed two other Slayers and one of them was staring at you as if he saw a ghost.
Tanjiro woke up at Zenitsu's shouts and tiredly rubbed his eyes. He then noticed a new person enter the room - it was a girl, shorter than him, with bright dark purple eyes and black hair with red tips. For a moment he thought he saw his mother, your gentle attitude reminded him of her. But he knew you couldn't be her. Then he remembered his older sister who had gone missing several years ago. He was ten and couldn't recall your image in detail, he only remembered that you were the carbon copy of your mother, except for your hair - it was just like your father's.
This version of you was older and more mature than he remembered, but undeniably you - his long lost older sister.
You looked at the strangely familiar boy with burgundy-colored hair and eyes and the scar.. the scar, just like your brother's. You vividly remembered how he got it. The boy was looking at you with teary eyes:
“(Y-y/n)? Is that really you?”
You didn't notice the tears that started to roll down your cheeks:
“Ta-tanjiro?” Your little brother was alive. This realization made you cry and you rushed to hug him. The boy started to cry as well and hugged you back tightly. You stayed like this for some time, just enjoying the moment of happiness. Zenitsu almost cried too as he was happy for his friend (and slightly jealous too - he had not one, but two beautiful sisters!)
Tanjiro told you everything: about your family demise, how Nezuko became a demon, how he trained to become a Slayer to turn her back into human and promised to take you to her. He also told you how Giyuu saved him and Nezuko twice and how he was going to commit seppuku if she ever harmed a human. You were listening to his story with tears in your eyes and your admiration for the Water Hashira increased tenfold - you now owned him lives of your younger siblings.
You rushed to find him to express your gratitude as you knew that he'd be on his mission soon and who knows when he'd be back.
You found him on his way to the Water Estate.
“Tomioka-sama!” You called and he turned to look at you.
You fell on your knees and bowed your head to the ground.
“Thank you, Tomioka-sama! Thank you! Thank you! Thank you!” Giyuu was genuinely confused as he couldn't recall doing anything for you.
“Thank you for saving them, thank you for sparing the lives of Tanjiro and Nezuko! How can I repay you for your kindness?”
That was it. That was nagging his mind ever since he heard that Kamado Tanjiro and Kamado Nezuko were to be brought to the Slayers headquarters - he knew he heard that name somewhere but couldn't remember where. Sure he knew your name but he and everybody around you called you by your first name, not your last name.
His gaze softened: he finally was able to do something to make you happy even if unconsciously. You see, he always wanted to do something for you, but he couldn't think of anything: he didn't know your favorite flowers or if you liked them at all. The same with the sweets. He genuinely liked you but he never knew how to express his feelings and he was sure that you didn't reciprocate them - you two never had a proper conversation. He could have asked Shinobu for advice, but her teasing would have become even more insufferable.
He kneeled in front of you and hesitantly put his hand on your shoulder. You raised your head and looked up at him.
“Tomioka-sama..” You smiled trying not to freak out about how close the two of you were.
“Please stand, you don't need to bow. I did what I thought was right” He sounded as calm as ever but was panicking inside: you were so close, and you smelled so good and your smile was bright. He slightly smiled back at you and you almost fainted: it was so beautiful and it was just for you.
“Tomioka-sama, I..” You didn't know what you were going to say as your gaze shifted from his lips to his eyes and you thought you could drown in them. What you did next surprised even yourself: you kissed him. On his cheek thankfully. Your eyes widened at your action and then you did what every sane person would do: you got up and tried to run. Tried, because Giyuu managed to catch your wrist and stop you.
“I'm..” you were cut off by Giyuu's soft voice:
“Join me for dinner?”

Keep running...
It was the last thing you were told to do before you heard the screams of your family all over the place. You clung onto your necklace it was the last thing your mother had left you just before the incident, burn marks, dried blood on your fingers and wrists, and burned bloody cloth reminded you what happened just a few moments ago but now wasn't the time to cry over it you were being followed by one of the most dangerous creatures on the face of the earth and you have to get away far away from the place you always loved and called home......
After what felt like hours of running, you started to get tired, but you didn't slow down. You knew if you did that, it would be the end of you, and you couldn't let that happen. You promised not to die, so you wouldn't take your chances.
Suddenly, you trip on something, and you can feel your heart drop as you make it to the cold snow and begin to roll down the mountain, only to stop when your back comes in harshly with a tree. You might even hear a few cracks, but you weren't sure.
To your luck, you noticed that the sun finally rose, so you leaned your back on the tree and tried to think of what to do next. You didn't know where or who to go to; you were just a 9-year-old without a family
Thinking about that made your eyes tear up as you held in your sobs and tears. Your father always told you that you were strong, but strong people don't cry. Aren't strong people supposed to be protecting their loved ones? Why couldn't you do so? You stayed like that, stifling your cries until you fell asleep in the cold forest alone.

Tanjiro and Tanjuro were walking back to their home from the village after selling all the wood they had Tanjuro looked down smiling at his son who was happy because he helped an old lady to find her lost hairpin, telling him how she gave him some candy as a thanks and how he would make sure to share them with Nezuko, Taeko and Hanako when they reach home.
As the 9-year-old boy was talking, he noticed something behind a tree not far away from him and his father, but when he looked carefully,y, he realized that it was a bloodied hand.
"Otōsan look! I think that person needs help"
The two Kamados didn't waste any time running up to the tree you were sleeping behind, but as they reached for you, they found nothing; they looked around and swore you were just lying there a moment ago.
Just as the young boy turned to another tree not that far away from the one you were lying behind his dark red eyes met your fearful ones and you backed behind the tree more as to hide but it was useless he already saw you and he started to approach you slowly this time as not to scare you and make you run away again not that you can anymore you used all your strength to get away from that tree and move to the other when you woke up from the sound of the two males footsteps, you're also still physically and mentally exhausted.
"Are you okay?" You heard a little voice say he was close but not close enough to make you uncomfortable so you looked up to see a pair of beautiful red eyes that reminded you of your father's and uncle's. His burgundy black hair bounces as he kneels to your sitting figure and holds out his hand for you to take.
You looked at his hand, then back at him. Something inside of you told you to trust him, but your mind and body refused to let you move just in case that feeling in your gut was wrong. The boy gave a reassuring smile when he saw your hesitation.
"My name name is Tanjiro Kamado! You don't have to worry... I am here to help you,u," He said as you took his warm hands in your cold ones. The warmth spreads through you as he pulls you to your feet.
"You're freezing! You must have been out for too long, here," He said,  id taking off his scarf (which was too large because it was his father's) and warping it around your shaking body.
"There! Is that better?" He asked but you just stared at him and nodded.
"Tanjiro! Did you find anyone?"
"Hai over here!"
Tanjuro came up to the two of you and once he saw your beaten figure he kneeled to get a better look at your injuries you let him just because he looked similar to the little boy so you felt like you could trust him as well.
"Oh dear you don't look good come on let us take you home," Said Tanjuro
Home
That word made your eyes water as you remembered that you no longer have one and you're now alone you probably won't last a day without your parents and brother, you know how hard it is to be an orphan at this age and time, you will either die of hunger because you wouldn't be able to find a place to stay in or a job to make a living out of or die while working yourself to death because whatever you are going to work it would never be enough for you to live in this cold.
Sniffing and looking down at the ground trying to hold a sob. Your actions made it clear to the older male that you don't have anywhere to go, o and seeing you in the state you're in saddened him; being the kind-hearted man he is, he didn't have the heart to leave you be;  he,d so he decided.
He always wanted a bigger family anyway.
"Co, me o,n my wife should be making dinner right now let's go. You must be hungry"
His words made your eyes widen and you looked up at the man only to see him giving you a warm smile.

After Tanjuro offered to carry you because you couldn't walk, you were now in his arms asleep and they were entering their house and stepping on the engawa before they heard two pairs of feet running across the corridor.
"Otōsan! Onīchan! You're back," an excited voice, followed by a 7-year-old girl with short black hair that goes to her shoulders and a 4-year-old boy trailing behind her; she was about to talk again when her brother signalled for her to be quiet.
"Nezuko please lower your voice she's sleeping," said the boy and his sister looked at the girl who was sleeping in her father's arms
"Onīchan, Onēchan, who's that? " asked the 4-year-old boy hiding behind his sister.
"Don't worry, Takeo, she's harmless, now where's your Okāsan?"
The two young children eagerly pointed towards the direction where their mother was leading their father. Tanjiro was following closely behind, with a look of anticipation on his face, hoping to be there when the girl opened her eyes. Meanwhile, the other siblings decided to stay together and play with each other instead of following their brother.
As the man entered his home, he was greeted by a woman with beautiful purple eyes who held a sleeping baby in her arms. Her face lit up with joy as she saw her husband return, but her expression shifted to worry as she observed the exhausted child sleeping on his shoulder.
"Oh, welcome home dear," she said softly, glancing at the child.
"We found her in the woods alone. I don't know what happened to her, but I want her to stay with us from now on," Tanjuro said, determination etched on his face. The woman smiled at her husband's determination and kindness which reminded her once again of why she had fallen in love with him.
"I wasn't going to say otherwise, love," she said, feeling little hands tugging on her kimono. As she looked down, she saw Tanjiro, their son, happy that his mother had decided to help the girl.
The woman's heart swelled with warmth as she looked down at her little boy, his big sparkling eyes gazing up at her with hopeful anticipation. He was such a sweet child, with his chubby cheeks and infectious grin, always eager to help whenever he could.
"Are you going to help her Okāsan?" he asked, his voice filled with innocent curiosity. The woman couldn't help but giggle at the sight of his face when she replied,
"Of course darling". His eyes lit up with joy at her words, and she knew at that moment that she would do anything to make him happy.
The mother let out a soft chuckle as she watched her son play around. She carefully walked over to her futon and gently placed her baby girl on it before turning to her husband, who was holding the other child.
"Nezuko and I will take care of the little one for now. Why don't you boys go wash up so we can all sit down and have a meal together?" she suggested with a warm smile.
Tanjuro smiled back at his wife, feeling grateful for her kind gesture. He walked over to her and gave her a tender kiss on her forehead, whispering a heartfelt "Thank you" before taking Tanjiro with him to wash up.
The woman cradled the little girl in her arms, her gaze shifting down to the child's kimono. She noticed something beneath it, and she moved the fabric to loosen it. Frowning slightly, the woman laid the girl down on a spare futon and carefully slid the kimono off her shoulder. As she did, her eyes widened in shock at the sight of what appeared to be a scar on the girl's delicate skin.
Feeling a wave of compassion wash over her, the woman spoke softly to the child,
"Oh, poor thing. Don't worry, we will take care of you."
At that very moment, the eldest daughter of the woman entered the room and closed the door behind her, a concerned look etched on her face.
"Come on, Nezuko, let's get her cleaned up. She must be hungry," the woman said softly, making her daughter nod and smile at her mother.

Years had gone by now (Y/n), and Tanjiro turned 14. The two were always seen together everywhere, and when Tanjuro died resulting for Tanjiro to take over the family's job of selling charcoal at the village.
As for (Y/n) she was grateful for the family ever since the day she woke up and found herself under the care of the Kamado family so she always helped in everything she could not wanting to be a burden on the kind people who took her in, all thought she was more than grateful for having them, she grew closer to Tanjiro more as he was the one to find her at the forest.
Right now, both of them are going to the village where Tanjiro cells his charcoal, and (Y/n) finds her way into the market to buy food and vegetables, not wanting Kie to go down and leave the house.
"Alright, do you want me to come with you to the market?" Tanjiro asked, smiling at the girl beside him, who shook her head softly.
"I should be fine just focus on selling charcoal," said the (E/c) eyed girl quietly.
Parting ways with the boy quickly so as not to insist on coming with her.
Making her way to a nearby shop she always goes to when she's alone.
"Welcome back, dear," an old woman said to the girl, making the younger one of the two bow respectfully to the older one.
"Kon'nichiwa Kazuko-san", the girl greets, making her way to the owner and putting her handmade bag on the counter.
"How's it going with you, young one? I hope you're doing well in this harsh winter. Can't have my little artist catching a fever now, Can I?" Her words made the girl smile slightly.
"I am fine don't worry about me Kazuko-san you should worry about your health I have noticed how thin you grew over my last few visits" (Y/n) said,
Kazuko-san was an old woman who took a liking to the girl's wooden crafts a few years ago when she found her waiting for Tanjiro, making a little doll for the new baby Kie gave birth to, the old woman offered for her to sell her crafts at her shop for money and the girl agreed without hesitation.
Over the years, they grew closer, and (Y/n) considered her family after the Kamados. She always made sure to come over every day to check on Kazuko-san's health and to remind her to eat three times a day.
(Y/n)'s dolls and crafts had made the small shop well-known. Despite being in a small village, people come from other villages to take presents for their loved ones from here because of how well the crafts are made with every little detail and how beautifully coloured they are.
Kazuko-san chuckled taking the bag from the young girl to arrange the dolls on the shop's shelf.
"Don't be a hypocrite. I can take care of myself. You know I may be an old lady, but I still have more strength than most people your age" The girl sighed at her stubbornness.
"Okāsan wants you to come and have dinner with us today. Tanjiro brought the carriage so you won't worry about walking up the mountain in this weather"
"Ah! What a wonderful young man Tanjiro is, how thoughtful of him" said the woman after she finished arranging the dolls and gave the girl back her bag with a small bag of money from her last set of dolls.
"When are you going to wife him? It would be such a shame to let him go just like that..." At her words, the girl yelped in embarrassment almost dropping the money Kazuko-san just gave her.
"K-kazuko-san! I told you before to stop saying such things Tan-tanjiro and I aren't getting married! We're not even at age yet!" She stuttered at the old woman feeling her face heat up.
"Only one year from it I don't see why not start preparations" (in this era girls could marry legally at the age of 15 so could men)
The (H/c)-head girl sighed and looked at the old woman with a bitter smile.
"Kazuko-san... I don't think that would happen even if we were at age... Tanjiro is kind and he sees me as his sister I don't want it any other way as long as I am by his side that's all I need"
The old woman's eye twitched looking at the young girl with an irritated expression,
"Oh god, this generation seems to lack both confidence and brain cells", she whispered to herself, pinching the bridge of her nose, making the girl in front of her title her head, and the old woman could have sworn she saw a question mark popping above her head.
"What?..."
"Oh, nothing, my dear, but if so, then you know you mustn't stay with the Kamados any longer. You know how people are. They're already talking about how your honour is getting worse and worse with each year you get closer to the age of marriage, and you might never find a husband that way..."
The old woman sighed looking at the girl with her worried brown eyes which made the girl frown upon her words,
"I don't care what people say of me Kazuko-san and I don't have any intention of finding a husband anyway," she said making Kazuko-san only shake her head in defeat she knew where this was going she already talked to the girl about this a couple of times before only to be shut down as she lays her suggestions of the girl marrying the oldest Kamado son the girl just didn't care what people say but Kazuko-san did, she loved the girl as if she was her own granddaughter but respected her choice even though she would regret it later on.
"Alright then, go to the market, do your thing until I close up here and pack my things for the night," she said, making the girl nod and walk out of the shop.
Tumblr media
After buying everything on the list Kie gave her, (Y/n) made her way back to the shop to find Tanjiro and Kazuko-san waiting for her while talking Tanjiro seemed to be embarrassed while the old woman had a satisfied look on her face.
"Are you alright Tanjiro?" The girl asked.
"I-I am just fine. Haha, now that you're here,e, why don't we get goi, ng, yeah?" He said quickly, avoiding looking at the girl, which made her frown, turning to the old lady who just shrugged her shoulders. The smug look on her face didn't change one bit.
(Y/n)'s eyelid twitched in irritation as she glared at the elderly woman who still wore a mischievous smile reminiscent of the Cheshire cat. She let out a heavy sigh before turning her attention to the young boy.
"You look rather flushed. If you're feeling unwell, I can take over and pull the carriage for you," the girl suggested as she approached the boy, placing her hand on his forehead to check for a fever. This gesture only caused the boy's cheeks to turn an even deeper shade of red as he nervously stuttered, briefly grasping the girl's hand before retracting it from his head.
"Ah, (Y/n)-Chan, I-I'm perfectly fine. You don't need to worry about me," he stammered, meeting the girl's gaze. Her eyes seemed to him like two radiant crystals, peering deep into his soul.
He found himself captivated by her eyes, which seemed to draw him into a trance that was difficult to break. Despite thinking that his mother had the most beautiful eyes, he was proven wrong the day he met this girl. All he could recall was how deeply wounded she seemed and how her spirit radiated with hope when his late father assured her that she would come home to live with them.
With a slight blush on his face, he gently released her hand and offered a reassuring smile to the girl, who still appeared a bit concerned about him. The feeling of her worry made his heart race as if it would burst from his chest.
"We should start heading out to avoid being late, and we wouldn't want to keep Kazuko-san waiting any longer," he suggested.
The girl nodded, seemingly about to check on him once more when the woman with brown eyes interpreted her.
"Do remember the old lady when you feel the need to conceal that rosy blush of yours," the older woman teased, her voice rich with amusement.
Both fourteen-year-olds felt a wave of warmth cross their cheeks, the colour intensifying as they exchanged shy glances.
"KAZUKO-SAN!" they exclaimed in unison, their faces now a vivid shade of crimson.
The woman burst into laughter, her joy bubbling over before she theatrically pretended to wipe away a tear. With a playful smirk, she revelled in their embarrassment, enjoying the sight of the two flustered kids before her.
"I think we should get going before the sun goes down"
She said, looking at the two teenagers in front of her, and they both nodded.
Tumblr media
"Ah! It's good to see you in good health Kazuko-san"
The sun was setting as Kie and Kazuko-san exchanged warm greetings. Kie, with a bright smile, expressed her joy at seeing Kazuko-san in good health, to which the older woman reciprocated the sentiment.
As they made their way inside, the tranquil environment was interrupted by the excited shouts of the children announcing the arrival of (Y/n) and Tanjiro. The little ones rushed to greet their older siblings, showering them with affection. Kazuko-san playfully feigned disappointment at not receiving any hugs, which prompted the children to overwhelm her with their affectionate embraces.
Meanwhile, Nezuko approached (Y/n) and Tanjiro, expressing her desire to help with dinner. (Y/n) gently declined her offer, instead asking her to assist with making tea.
"Don't worry about it, Nezuko. Just help me make the tea for everyone. It's getting a bit cold," said the (H/c)- headed girl.
In the kitchen, (Y/n) and Nezuko began preparing tea and dinner. (Y/n) added a handful of blue flowers to the tea, causing Nezuko to cringe and grumble about the unconventional addition.
"Do we have to drink those weird flowers every time we have tea Onēchan?"
When Nezuko questioned the necessity of the flowers in the tea, (Y/n) shared a reminiscence about her Okāsan preparing the same tea every day.
"It's good for your health. One thing that I can remember before Tanjiro and Otōsan (Tanjuro) found me is that my Okāsan used to make me this every day. It's the only thing I remember other than my Otōsan's weird practice he made me do every day" (Y/n) said, tilting her head slightly. She tried to remember something other than that but was not succeeding at all, so she just shook her head. Nezuko didn't look amused.
"Not to be rude, but we have been drinking this with tea every since you and Okāsan found your old house's garden, and that was four years ago!" Nezuko exclaimed looking at the older girl.
"I think I have drunk enough to make me kick trees down"
Amused by Nezuko's comment about the length of time they had been drinking the tea, (Y/n) laughed softly.
"Tell you what if you hate it so much I can try making it sweeter so it doesn't taste as bad"
Nezuko beamed at the statement, making the other girl smile and add a little bit more sugar to the kids' cups.
"There now go give this tray to Okāsan while I bring Tanjiro his"
"Hai!"

Kai sat quietly beside the older woman, their conversation punctuated by the soft sounds of her son chopping wood outside. The sunlight streamed through the window, casting a warm glow on the two as they discussed the recent events that had rippled through their village.
"And her husband went overseas, leaving her to face his mother and sister all alone?" the woman asked, her voice infused with incredulity.
"Yes, Poor girl," the elder woman continued, her brow furrowed with concern. "All she ever wanted was to marry the man she loves, only to find herself trapped in a house where she is treated like a maid rather than a daughter-in-law. Meanwhile, her husband is working himself to the bone, trying to provide them with a decent life."
As she listened, Kai felt her heart clench in sympathy for the girl. She was struck by the cruel irony of love turned into a burden, her empathy reflected in her gently furrowed brow.
Kazuko-san, noticing the glimmer of compassion in Kai's eyes, huffed softly before shifting the conversation.
"You know," she began, her tone somewhat conspiratorial, "she isn't the only one people have been gossiping about lately."
Curiosity sparked in Kai's eyes as she lifted her gaze toward the window, where the girl with (H/c) hair was gracefully handing a cup of warm tea to her eldest son. It seemed that the village was rife with stories, each one more intricate than the last.
Kazuko-san let out a heavy sigh, her gaze drifting away momentarily before refocusing on Kai. "I wish I could simply brush it aside, but the truth is, I can't just let it go," she admitted, a hint of frustration in her voice.
Kai, intrigued yet confused, leaned in closer. "What do you mean, Kazuko-san?" she inquired, her brow furrowing in curiosity.
Kazuko-san hesitated, an air of contemplation surrounding her. "Before I share anything further, may I ask how Tanjiro truly feels about (Y/n)?" she probed, her expression serious and expectant.
Tumblr media
"Tanjiro"
Tanjiro chuckled softly and felt his heart flutter as he noticed the shorter girl approaching him, cradling a steaming cup of tea in her hands. Her delicate features were illuminated by the warm afternoon sun, and her soft smile had a way of making everything around him disappear. He set aside his axe, the roughness of his work momentarily forgotten, as he walked towards her, completely unaware of the two pairs of curious eyes peering at them from behind the window of the house.
Her presence brought an instant warmth that enveloped him, drawing his attention to her sparkling eyes that mirrored the kindness in her heart.
"I made some tea to keep you warm; you've been working hard lately," she said, her voice sweet like honey, carrying on the gentle breeze.
At the sound of her words, he couldn't help but feel a rush of affection. He met her gaze, his eyes lingering on her face, and felt that familiar warmth flooding back.
"Oh, Arigatō (Y/n)-Chan," he replied, gratitude and warmth intertwining in his chest as he accepted the comforting cup from her hand, knowing that moments like these would forever be cherished.
Smiling softly, the girl watched as the boy took a tentative sip from his cup, his eyes closing in delight as he savoured the warm liquid sliding down his throat.
"I'm making Taranome for dinner," she announced, knowing full well how much he adored the dish.
Tanjiro's eyes widened in surprise, a bright spark of excitement igniting within them as he processed her words. "Really? That's my favourite!" he exclaimed, his voice a mixture of joy and disbelief.
The girl let out a soft, melodic chuckle at his enthusiasm, a blush creeping across her cheeks. "Yeah, I noticed. I mean, I have been living with you for five years now," she teased, a playful grin lighting up her face.
Tanjiro joined in her laughter, the warmth of the moment wrapping around them like a cozy blanket. His gaze held her captive as he took another sip of tea, a gentle fluttering in his chest at the sight of her. "I guess you know me pretty well by now, huh?" he said, a hint of vulnerability in his tone.
She nodded slightly, her heart racing as she leaned a little closer. "I guess I do."
A soft sigh escaped Tanjiro's lips as he momentarily diverted his gaze to the steaming tea cradled in his hands, the world outside fading into a distant hum. "I always feel so calm and relaxed when I'm with you. It's like all my worries just disappear," he confessed, his voice barely above a whisper.
Looking up, he found himself entranced by the sparkle in her eyes, a warmth spreading through his chest as he watched her expression shift to one of heartfelt sincerity.
"Tanjiro... I-"
Before she could finish, a loud, unexpected interruption shattered the moment.
"WHEN IS THE WEDDING?!!" came a boisterous shout, disrupting the tender atmosphere and leaving them both wide-eyed.
Tanjiro's surprise quickly morphed into a blend of astonishment and mild irritation as he recognized the playful voice that had cut through the air. It belonged to none other than his younger brother, Takeo, who, at the tender age of nine, had a knack for causing mischief.
"Takeo!" Tanjiro exclaimed, his tone laced with a hint of disapproval. "You can't just yell like that out of nowhere!"
The sunlight filtered through the trees, casting playful shadows as the girl nearby chuckled softly, her eyes sparkling with amusement at the sibling banter unfolding before her. She turned her gaze back to the two boys: Tanjiro, who stood with a furrowed brow and a slightly embarrassed flush creeping up his cheeks, scolding his younger sibling; and Takeo, who was unabashedly teasing him, his face illuminated with mischief as he stuck out his tongue, relishing in the playful chaos he had created.
Tumblr media
With a troubled expression shadowing her features, she gazed into the steaming cup of tea that her daughter had just set down before her. The weight of the village gossip lingered heavily in the air, a palpable tension that seemed to wrap around her like a thick fog. The words of the older woman still echoed in her mind, each one punctuated by the knowing glances exchanged among the townsfolk.
"Before you say anything," Kazuko-san began, her voice steady yet laced with concern, "I asked about the boy's feelings because I know the strength of (Y/n)'s emotions. Though his affections are quite apparent, I wanted to hear it directly"
Kai's eyes shifted to meet Kazuko-san's, searching for understanding.
The elder woman, her grey hair framing her face like a crown of wisdom, leaned in closer, her voice dropping to a conspiratorial whisper. "Both of them are at the age of marriage. We should arrange for them to court each other and marry as soon as they turn sixteen. It will spare our sweet daughter from the cruel whispers of the village."
Kai felt a pang in her heart; the thought of her daughter being the subject of malicious gossip filled her with unease. She had watched (Y/n) grow, nurturing her with all the love she poured into her and her other daughters, and the mere idea that anyone could tarnish her honour was unbearable.
"You do have a point, Kazuko-san," Kai conceded, her resolve beginning to solidify. "I will speak to both of them about it." The future of the girl she considers a daughter lay ahead, and she would not allow their happiness to be thwarted by the narrow-mindedness of others.
Kazuko-san breathed a sigh of relief when Kai nodded in agreement, just as the door swung open unexpectedly. Nezuko stumbled into the room, a nervous chuckle escaping her lips as she caught the attention of the two older women. Quickly regaining her composure, she stood up straight, her eyes sparkling with curiosity.
"Does that mean Onēchan gets to live with us forever?!" she exclaimed, her voice brimming with excitement. The sheer joy in her words elicited hearty laughter from Kazuko-san and Kai, their hearts warming at the sight of Nezuko's uncontainable enthusiasm.
Tumblr media
After finishing their chores and dinner, the two 14-year-old teens were summoned by the mother.
The dim light from the hallway spilt into her room as they knocked on the door and entered, revealing Kai standing gracefully in front of a mirror.
She was brushing her flowing black hair, the strands shimmering softly under the warm light. Upon hearing the door creak open, she turned around, her face breaking into a warm smile that instantly brought a sense of comfort to the room.
"Come sit by me, Tanjiro, (Y/n)," she invited, her voice melodic and reassuring. They exchanged glances before taking their places on the edge of the bed, sitting close to one another and eager to hear what she had to say.
"Is something wrong, Okāsan?" Tanjiro asked, his brow slightly furrowed with concern. His caring nature shone through, embodying the protective son he had always been. He feared that something might be troubling the woman he cherished so deeply, one of the most important figures in his life.
(Y/n) remained quiet, though her heart mirrored Tanjiro's worry. She didn't want to leap to conclusions without knowing the truth.
Kai observed their anxious expressions, a gentle chuckle escaping her lips. They had taken on the weight of the household responsibilities and cared for her so devotedly, always prioritizing her well-being over their own. Their selflessness melted her heart, yet it also ached to see how quickly they were growing up. The burdens of their lives had stolen much of their childhood innocence.
At that moment, she felt a conflicting mixture of pride and sorrow, knowing they were sacrificing their youth for her sake. She had been contemplating a delicate matter, one that weighed heavily on her heart. As she prepared to broach the subject of courting and marriage—a notion that felt like it would snatch away their remaining freedom—guilt washed over her. It was never her intention to force or pressure them, yet she knew that asking for their cooperation would strike a chord in their loyal hearts. How could she balance her desire for their happiness with her need to protect them? The dilemma left her feeling conflicted, but she reminded herself that this was intended for their best future, even if it meant treading delicately around their choices.
"Everything is alright," she said with a soft smile, a gentle warmth radiating from her presence, which caused the other two to exhale in relief. The tension in the room began to melt away.
However, curiosity flickered in (Y/n)'s eyes as she tilted her head slightly and spoke up, "Then if you don't mind me asking, why are we here, Okāsan?" Tanjiro, sitting beside her, nodded in agreement, a furrow of worry etched across his brow.
Kai took a deep breath, her expression turning serious as she prepared to share troubling news. "Well, I think you might have an inkling of where this is headed based on my tone, so please bear with me until the end," she urged her voice steady yet laced with concern. The frowns on (Y/n) and Tanjiro's faces deepened, a wave of apprehension washing over them.
"There have been quite a lot of rumours circulating through the village." (Y/n)'s expression darkened at the mention of gossip, while confusion settled in Tanjiro's eyes, but they both remained silent, waiting for Kai to continue.
"There's one rumour in particular that has been troubling me the most. People have been speaking ill of you, (Y/n)."
As the words hung in the air, (Y/n) instinctively turned her head away from the two, a wave of shame washing over her. Tanjiro could no longer contain himself; the warmth within him transformed into a small flame of anger. "Okāsan, what is that supposed to mean?" he asked, struggling to mask the hurt in his voice. The thought of anyone mistreating (Y/n) gnawed at him; she was too kind, too good of a person to deserve such cruelty. His heart clenched at the thought that anyone would dare to look down upon her. He had vowed to protect her ever since they had taken her in after that fateful night, and the mere thought of her being wronged filled him with resolve.
Kai noticed the shift in her son's demeanour, and a small, understanding smile crept onto her lips. She sensed that her words were finding their mark. "People have been saying it is a disgrace for (Y/n) to be living with us, given that she has no blood ties to our family. They claim that now that she is no longer a child, it could diminish her chances of finding a suitable husband—if not ruin them entirely."
Kai watched as (Y/n) flinched at the remark, casting a side glance at Tanjiro, who was now clutching his fists tightly, the frustration evident in his posture. Sensing the potential for an outburst, she continued before either could interrupt her. "That's why I've brought you both here," she said, her tone shifting to focus their attention. "Kazuko-san has given us two choices. She can either take (Y/n) with her, or you, Tanjiro, must court (Y/n) until you are both old enough to marry."
A heavy silence enveloped the room, a palpable weight pressing down on all three of them as they absorbed the gravity of this revelation. Suddenly, Tanjiro stood, determination emanating from him like a beacon. He turned to (Y/n), who was still kneeling before him, taking her trembling hands into his warm grasp. She hadn't even realized her hands were shaking until his touch grounded her. He gently lifted her chin, urging her to meet his gaze, though she was unsure of the intensity of the emotions swirling in his eyes. Fear clouded her thoughts, and she sighed, her heart aching as she steeled herself to speak before Tanjiro could express his thoughts.
"I guess I should gather my belongings then," she said, a heavy sense of dread filling her chest.

■ Tanjiro
- Being the oldest of his family, Tanjiro has a lot of experience taking care of people as he has helped his mother with taking care of his siblings, especially when they're sick.
- If you're the type of person that tries to keep working and denies that you're sick (even if it's pretty obvious), he will hover over you and make sure you stop and rest.
- This dude will be bringing you healthy meals in bed, making sure you drink enough fluids, and cuddle you, all until you feel better.
If you're the vomiting type of sick, Tanjiro will hold your hair back for you (if it's long) while you puke it all out in the toilet.
- If you don't like taking medicine, then you bet Tanjiro's gonna be using some of the tricks he used to get his younger siblings to take their medicine on you.
- He will try to be by your side to help you get better as much as possible, but not so much that you feel smothered.
■ Kanao
- Being the younger sister of Shinobu and having lots of experience taking care of people in the Butterfly Estate, you know for sure she knows what she's doing.
- Kanao will be bringing you medicine and healthy meals that are specially made for when someone is sick.
- When taking care of you, she will be somewhat strict, but only if you're proving to be difficult and not taking the medicine or refusing to rest.
- If you're the vomiting type of sick, Kanao will help you when you're puking it out and will clean you up without batting an eye. If you feel bad about it afterwards, she'll reassure you with a smile and tell you that it doesn't bother her as long as you get better.
- Kanao won't hover by your side, but will keep tabs on how you're feeling and periodically check on you take sure you're okay.
- If you want her to stay by your side though, she will and you'll both just cuddle and/or she'll read to you.
- I also feel like she'll probably get you to take some vitamins after you've gotten better to improve your immune system and make sure you have less of a chance of getting sick again.
■ Zenitsu
- I don't think Zenitsu has a lot of experience taking care of other people but I do know that he will try his best to make sure you get better quickly.
- With his super hearing, he'll probably hear that your sick before you actually tell him. He can also tell if it's just a cold or if it's a fever by your heart rate, not just by taking your temperature.
- This boy will dot on you until you feel better. Want food? He'll get it for you. Feel headachy? He'll get you a cool towel for your forehead.
- Even though he himself hates taking medicine, Zenitsu will persuade you to take it, while complaining with you on how bad it tastes. (He may or may not have asked Tanjiro on how to trick you into taking the medicine, shhh)
- Zenitsu will be by your side all the time to make sure you're doing okay, if you need him for anything, basically smothering you in his worry and wanting to be by your side when you get better.
- He is definitely asking Tanjiro for advice on how to care for you though, because even though he's inexperienced in taking care of others, he really wants to do his best for you and want you to get better.
■ Nezuko
- Now with Nezuko being a demon, she can't really take care of you during the day, but when night comes she's doing all she can for you.
- Being the eldest after Tanjiro means she too had helped take care of the younger siblings and knows just what to do when someone is sick.
- She'll change the cool towel on your forehead for you, make sure you have water to keep hydrated, and monitor your condition throughout the night.
- If you wake up to go puke, Nezuko will be by your side helping you, and will help clean you up with gentle care too.
- If you're having trouble sleeping, then Nezuko'll cuddle you as you sleep and/or hum you to sleep with a lullaby, staying awake to make sure you get your rest and to make sure she gets back into her box before dawn breaks.
■ Inosuke
- This boy has never taken care of someone else when they're sick, being raised by boars in the mountains and all. That doesn't mean that he doesn't know how to in his own way though.
- Being raised in the mountains, I'm sure Inosuke has some homeopathic remedies that he used instead of regular medicines.
- He won't be actively taking care of you but will bring you little gifts to make you feel better like acorns or really pretty rocks he found.
- Inosuke will also eat with you in your bed if you can't really move that much without feeling nauseous. And if you get headaches then he'll be slightly quieter when around you and won't yell as often.
- Inosuke will check up on you sometimes to see if you're getting better but if you ask him about it he'll make up an excuse saying he's just trying to make sure his minion is ready to fight him yet.
- When you recover, Inosuke will definitely challenge you to a fight to make sure you're still strong enough to be one of his minions. (His way of making sure you're actually okay and feeling better.)

Thinking about being such a Demon Slayer fan that you literally have every merchandise possible: posters, figurines, plushies, magnets, haori and even the character's accessories. You've even dyed your hair in (character)'s iconic colour scheme and style.
But that wasn't enough for you, so you decided to go to Japan. Hey, the tourism was good, and if you got to buy and explore more of your favourite anime, bonus!
So you arrive and wander the streets gawking in awe with full shopping bags in your hands, humming Gurenge under your breath. You were so lost in your daydreams you slam into someone - sorry, two people.
Cue your apologies as you scramble to your feet, but a melodic voice interrupts you with assurances that it was alright as two pairs of hands help pick up your fallen items. You look up to see a pair of petite sisters with matching blue-tinged hair and smiles.
"That's a nice hairpin!" Was what the elder and taller of the two called out as they continued to walk past you, and you self consciously raise a hand to the Kocho family butterfly pin in your hair.
You continue your walk downtown, strolling past screens with the world famous Tenma Uzui's face plastered on it as he lifted his latest medal and advertised products. At the toy store you had paused to look into, three youngsters rushed out with their newfound prizes in hand.
"Sabito! Give it back!"
"Hey, you already said we'd swap!"
"Until Makomo said she'd give me hers!"
You glance at them out of the corner of your eye and laugh seeing them fight over the colours of the warding masks. An old man with a red face mask stepped out of the shop shortly after and began to shepherd the trio away.
Seeing the Gashapon machines inside the store, you decide to step in too, but before you could the door flew open and a short, purple-haired man tumbled out. Clearly he had been kicked out but he wasn't taking the hint.
Inside the shop an exasperated but still polite voice echoed. "For the last time, Enmu, that toy train is for display only."
"I'll buy it someday!" Enmu declared cheerfully as if this were a regular occurrence and simply brushed himself off and headed to the direction of the nearest station.
You shrug and quit your side eyeing, venturing inside. The red haired shopkeeper looked up from the counter, his formerly poker face transforming into a bright smile that matched the red sun of his hanafuda earrings. "Hi, are you looking for anything? Tourist?"
Sheepishly you replied and casually asked Yoriichi, as he had introduced himself, for any recommendations on where to eat for lunch.
"Oh, you should try the diner down the road! It's family run - Mrs. Iguro is very sweet and they're very famous for their sakura mochi! My wife Uta and I frequent there, so just tell them I sent you."
That sounded good to you, so you thanked him along with your exchange of tokens, then asked for directions.
"It's right on front of where my brother works, Kibutsuji Enterprises. It's a huge office, you can't possibly miss it."
"Kibutsuji Enterprises...? I think I've heard of them, run by Kagaya Ubuyashiki right?"
"Oh, no, don't get confused, they're rival companies actually. The Ubuyashiki company has a wisteria as its logo."
A little confusing, but alright! You thanked him profusely once again and left, making your way through the busy streets to the diner.
You thanked your lucky stars you got there on one piece, for there was a motorbike zooming and booming through the crowds without a care for law or life just now as you were walking. Thankfully you had jumped back just in time before they could mow you down. From what you could see in the racing blur there appeared to be a green-haired young boy dressed in a crimson shirt with a manic smile on his face and a screaming white-haired girl clutching onto him for dear life driving. You hoped the two scarred faced policemen would catch them - no doubt, actually, seeing as they were both already brandishing guns and chasing after the two with furious speed .
"SHABANA, YOU'RE ABOUT TO GET FINED AGAIN!"
"I DON'T GIVE TWO FXXKS, SHINAZUGAWA!"
"Yeah, that's right, Onii-chan!"
You pass a school bus dropping off a bunch of tiny preschoolers, herded and fretted over by their hulking giant of a teacher. His wooden bead necklace matched yours, clacking together as he urged the kids to stay together. How cute... although such a big man being so kindly was a little unnerving.
"Oh? Want to try our signature Eternal Paradise perfume? We guarantee you'll have anyone falling for you with it!'
You ignore the blonde salesman leaning outside his store. He peered over his rainbow tinted sunglasses to catch you rolling your eyes and with a fake gasp of hurt he grabbed his chest. You snort and continue walking.
Mrs. Iguro was just as welcoming as Yoriichi had promised, although you were rather caught off guard by her bright pink and green hair and the fact she was carrying a whole stack of plates and balancing a baby at the same time.
"Hi!!! Welcome, do take a seat, what can I get you? Obanai's special for today is Western food - oh wait, silly me, you're not from around here, are you? I expect you'd want something local! Coming right up!"
You can't help but be buoyed by her bubbly nature, waiting patiently with a contented grin. You look around the diner and while the snake ornament at the counter catches your eye you find yourself studying the other customers instead.
A pair of identical twin boys eat quietly, with a younger boy with rosy cheeks noisily chatting with them; evidently a playdate of some sort.
"Don't forget, Kotetsu, you're paying because you lost the last shoji match."
"Aw, Tokito, you're such a seaweed head. I'm just a beginner!"
"Brother's a seaweed head, not me."
"HEY! WE LOOK THE SAME!"
You chuckle and your gaze strays to the other table, where a family of three ate their ramen. Their son seemed a little paler than normal and you couldn't help but overhear the mother's worrying.
"Darling Rui, don't eat so fast, you might choke and you just recovered!"
Embarrassed at your eavesdropping you duck your head and look at the other table where a group of rowdy students sit and snack.
"YOSHITERU AGATSUMA, HOW DARE YOU BURP LIKE THAT IN PUBLIC!"
"It was an accident, Toko! I can't control it!" Was the whining answer. "KANATA, DEFEND ME! OW! YOU'RE NOT A REAL FRIEND, KAMADO!"
"UMAI!"
Mrs. Iguro - or Mitsuri, as she had insisted you call her - arrived with towering plates and hell lot of topics to converse about. You happily indulged in their famous udon and her delighted talking while her husband glared at you from the window, although the threat was rather marred by the fact he was feeding a toddler at the same time.
You learnt Mitsuri - so cool! Her name was the exact one as the Love Pillar from the series! - had five kids (your head was still spinning over the fact) and that her hair had turned out that way from eating too much sakura mochi, which made you wonder what was happening to you after eating so much (favourite food) over the years.
After your meal you repeatedly thank Mitsuri for her meal and longingly promise to stop by again you leave for the last place on your agenda, Gyokko Art Studio.
The exhibitions mainly displayed brightly painted vases and scupltures; you had a lot of fun taking selfies with the gigantic koi fish statue and the one of a dozen blacksmiths forging swords. The studio also doubled as a pottery school, and when you enter you had immediately spotted the five rowdy teenage boys who were now arguing over a kiln and a broken vase at the back.
"KARAKU, YOU BROKE IT!"
"Hey, Sekido, chill! Zohakuten pushed me!"
"SHUT IT, WHY ARE YOU ALWAYS BLAMING ME? IS IT BECAUSE I'M THE YOUNGEST? AGEIST!
"Guys...quiet down....granddad is sleeping upstairs...."
"Nah, Aizetsu, I wanna see what happens!"
"Enough! All of you just clean that mess up! We have visitors! Your grandfather and I may be friends but I will never know what went wrong when he was raising all of you!"
Out of the back appeared the most flashy man you had ever met, eye catching with his coiffed purple hair and thick makeup, his scale tattoos catching your eye as he shooed the arguing brothers away. Eyes outlined with clashing green and red turned to you and he held out a stained hand. "Managi at your service! I run this humble store and I deeply apologize for the boys. Honestly, the Hantengu brothers are absolute menaces and I speak knowing the Shabana siblings."
Managi gave you a quick private tour of his studio, his arrogant but dramatic way of speech amusing you greatly, especially when he complained about a pair of twins who came in on the weekends, his two workers, children...well, Managi had an opinion on everything.
"Those Tokito whippersnappers have no appreciation for art! The only reason I haven't shooed them out with clay gluing their ill-mannered mouths shut is because their mother is a regular of mine."
"Haganezuka! Absolute concentration in what he does and a prodigy in vase making, but he is absolutely terrible with customer service! I usually leave that to Kanamori but we waste more time preventing Haganezuka from attacking customers than actually selling.
It was definitely a trip you'd like to remember, so you bought a small cup that had caught your eye and waved goodbye to Managi as you left for your final destination, your hotel.
You decide to take the longer way round to enjoy the picturesque walk beneath the sakura trees. Stopping to admire the pink fall you suddenly realize there's a couple beside you taking photos. Embarrassed that you might be unintentionally photo bombing, you move away, but a tap on your shoulder spins you back around.
"Hi, excuse me! Do you mind taking a picture of Hakuji and I? We tried taking a selfie but haha, the shot didn't cover the trees."
You oblige, secretly delighting in observing the young but loving couple interact with each other - especially when the punk-looking, tattoo-covered Hakuji was holding her so gently like that. You take their photo and after their grateful thanks you resumed making your way back.
Upon arriving at the lobby you were annoyed to say the least to find yourself stuck behind an irritatingly loud young man arguing with the poor receptionist. Of course, you couldn't actually see the receptionist's - Nakime, on her name tag, and that sounded rather familiar - face due to her long bangs but anyone would honestly be irritated with how obnoxiously he was talking.
"Sir, I have explained to you already, your booking was cancelled because you were late with your payment-"
"Oh come on, woman, it was just a day late!"
"You too are very late with your excuses."
The tall, tuxedoed man from the sofa had gotten up and was now towering over the younger man after politely excusing himself for getting in your way. "Miss, look for a room registered under Kokushibo. I suspected my fool of a secretary Kaigaku would make yet another mistake."
"HEY, LISTEN HERE, OLD MAN-"
"Kaigaku, I really don't have time for this, my wife is going to be back soon from taking the kids to the zoo. Thank you, miss, and excuse us."
"That guy was irritating you, wasn't he?" You remarked, accidentally blurting out your thoughts. "I mean, I wasn't eavesdropping!"
The receptionist smiled faintly. "Don't worry, I'm used to him. Your name?"
And it was only when you flopped down on your hotel bed and stared at the ceiling did it occur to you that a lot of people had seemed very familiar to you today.
Perhaps fiction and reality weren't that far apart after all.

ooh okay nezuko gets attached to child! reader and treats her like a little sibling,,how would like tanjiros and nezukos life change?
A/n: Thank you for requesting! I’ll finally be able to add to my kamaboko squad Masterlist! Tws: none Not proofread
- Nezuko, while she doesn’t remember it, is a natural at being an older sibling - She did have three younger siblings, after all - For writing purposes, you are a young, newly turned demon, confused and afraid - somehow you found your way to the kamado siblings - nezuko takes a liking to you she sees you as a little sibling hugging you, playing games with you - you two have matching bamboo muzzles - life would change for the two older siblings quite a bit - you would try to help fight, but you weren’t terribly strong, so you mostly just made encouraging motions from the sidelines or stayed in your and nezuko’s shared box - nezuko would do your hair constantly, play with it, etc - she’d teach you how to make flower crowns and teach you clap games - tanjiro, in his free time, would play games with you like hide and seek - t I c k l e f I g h t s - v loving older siblings - found family supremecy
