my bg1 character, sefri. these r old and i should redo them

if you are interested, which i know nobody is, my original idea with her is to make a character really close to abdel adrian story-wise (a morally questionable tought guy with violent impulses) but Not Adbel Adrian because I hate him. she doesnt romance jaheria (lol) but instead I ended up shipping her with Edwin of all people.

she is a fighter/thief because i wanted her to run the shadow thieves guild (the fighter stronghold is boring) and she was a beast when i played her, one of my most fave playthrus of bg1/bg2 ever

her canon party at the end of bg1 was: Viconia, Kagain, Edwin, Jaheria & Khalid. She left Imoen behind after Imoen was injured because she cares Too much and is bad at expressing it, so she just abandoned her at Nashkel LOL. Imoen rejoins her just in time to be kidnapped for BG2. She had a tense relationship with Jaheria & if it wasn't for Jaheria, Sefri would of gone like full evil.

siege of dragonspear is NOT canon and i hate it.

bg2 party: Yoshimo (Almost fell in love with him, rip) then Imoen, Edwin, Viconia, Korgan, Jaheria. Let me tell u. worst party comp ever thank god Sefri could carry with her insane attack modifiers. Everyone laughed really hard when it was revealed Sefri hooked up with Edwin. During throne of bhaal, she does resurrect Sarevok (replaces Korgan) and she accidentally redeems him. I have no yet figured out how to fix him in bg3.

she was very good friends with Viconia and no, I am not happy with how she is handled in bg3. like i said it sucks if you are an og baldurs gate fan, they do not handle a single aspect well besides Jaheria.

That's what multiple playthroughs are for. Pretty much EVERYBODY used Minsc/Dynaheir/Khalid/Jaheira/Imoen first time round. That's why they became the canon party. Then play again and get....creative. For example, I personally LOVE Neera, but many others do not. One thing BG1 has over 2 is how MANY potential party members there are, scattered all over the map. BG2 has far fewer, but their lore is much deeper

yeee I'm a stickler for "canon" bc I like to play as the story intends kind of, like ik most of plot anyway so ik I'm going to want to have Imoen/Dyanheir/Minsc/Khalid/Jaheira at the end of SoD bc that's who BG2 assumes you had with you.

but also having said that I keep swtiching them out a lot bc I want to do the quests lmao. Neera was super fun, loved her character & her quest. Don't really see why people wouldn't like her but? oh well.

Rasaad seems fun but havent triggered his quest yet. Apologies to Dorn and Baeloth but I do not care so they've been abandoned. Edwin, Xzar and Montaron have been abandoned for being mean. Branwen, Viconia, Ajantis, Xan and Garrick have also been abandoned bc they're not parituclarly interesting to me?

I liked Kivan a lot but got bored after his quest was done so he's also abandoned in the wilds lmao. Yeslick got p much the same treatment, so did Kagain lol. Kept Faldorn for like 5 minutes then abandoned her (also felt bad for having her in the same party as Jaheira).

I have taken Eldoth but only bc I want Skie for a story event ik happens.

I know basically nothing about the BG2 companions so that'll be fun to figure out on the fly lmao

One thing I think BG3 really improved on is the camp system, where you can activate their quests without having them constantly in ur party. I lost Dynaheir in a nondescript forest so that was a fun little 30 minute search party. Also, Neera, I'm dropping u off for 5 minutes then coming back for you, stop insulting me pls i feel baddddd.

In my head I have most of the companions chilling at camp bc fuck leaving them in the middle of nowhere dude, thats mean.

Alright: Here's an attempt:

In general: most humans and some older companions are probably dead of old age, BG3 takes place about 120 years after BG2.

Alive (definite): Minsc (BG3), Jaheira (BG3), Viconia(BG3) Dead (definite canonical death):

Imoen (the Resurrection of Bhaal (in the 4e adventure Murder in Baldur's Gate) confirms the deaths of all original carriers of the Bhaalspawn taint),

Gorion's Ward (Murder in Baldur's Gate killed off his canonical version),

Coran (overcome by ceremorphosis and mercy killed by his son Krydle in the IDW Legends of Baldur's Gate comic, immediately before the events of BG3),

Skie (killed by Irenicus in Siege of Dragonspear),

Khalid (Killed by Irenicus prior to BG2),

Dynaheir (killed by Irenicus prior to BG2),

Yoshimo (required to be killed by the party in BG2)

The Sarevok conundrum: Sarevok is shown in BG3, however his appearance is mostly contradictory to what was established in BG2. Notably, when he is resurrected in BG2 he's resurrected without his Bhaalspawn powers, which would have caused his death by old age due to being a human. The best way I can reconcile this is to assume the Sarevok we see in BG3 is a manifestation from Bhaal, in the same vein as the versions of Sendai, Ilasera, and Amelyssan that the player fights. It is possible he sired Orin at some point shortly before his demise, or that he sired Orin's mother only and it was the manifestation that sired Orin.

Considered to canonically die in BG2, but their death isn't required: Ajantis (one of the paladins that are illusioned to look like monsters in the Windspear hills, human),

Safana (dies in the Coran and the Wolfweres sidequest, human), Faldorn (killed in the Animal Trouble in Trademeet sidequest, human)

Xzar (dies in the Find out What Happened to Montaron sidequest, human) Presumed dead of old age (race's lifespans too short for the 120 year timeskip):

You know, I really don’t mind at all bring Baldur’s gate material to 5e, since I like those games a lot and all, but I absolutely cannot condone the blatant ugly mf  erasure they got going on with the character artwork.

What do you get when you cross a half-elf raised in a library, a renegade drow who serves the goddess of darkness, a human Red Wizard so egotistical he'd take a piss and claim credit for inventing liquid perfume, a quiet and competent dwarven mercenary, and an extremely gorgeous, intelligent, and vengeance-driven half-orc bonded to a demon?

"Why didn't anyone wake me..." Charlotte yawns out.

Charlotte hadn't recalled when she fell fast asleep. Drowsy eyelids slowly open up and she recognizes the environment she was in, the House. She feels a heavy weight on her stomach and the cause was a sci-fi almanac. In her drowsy state she perks up upon hearing Felix's voice.

"F-Felix?! You frightened me," a hand was on her chest as if to soothe her fast heart rate, "you didn't want to wake me? Ahaha, you should've! I'm supposed to look after you, after all..."

She feels her chest swelling up with anxiety. Was it the anxiety medication that caused her to be so tired that she passed out? Or was it her illness... Charlotte wish she had the answers but didn't want to discuss any of it to any of the tenants. It was her problem alone, no one elses.

“ You know, I don’t need you for that. ” He feels mocked at the way she said that; even if he knew she didn’t mean it like that. (she never did, she’s too nice for that.)

“ I can take care of myself, thank you. ”

He sighs softly, fiddling with his gloves. “Besides, you were sleeping pretty deeply..” He’d just felt bad if he’d woken her up. He was in no rush, well he was always normally but. Just sitting here had been nice, even if he supposed it was weird to just watch someone sleep. It’d been kind of calming though.

so despite being a huge dungeons and dragons nerd and a bioware...sometimes appreciator...i've never actually played through all of baldur's gate 2's quests.

which is to say, i just finished the jan jansen summoned home quest, and. silly wisecracking short race fantasy man most associated with a crossbow, tragic love life, his lost lenore leaving him at the end of the quest...i see you, varric tethras. i see where you came from!!!
