Plss this is just stuck in my head and refuses to leave
Hii, I know I've asked this before but really consider an actor au for Raimon, be it accidental reverse or the original series. Because like imagine the shock of the others when one of them takes off their brightly colored wig and suddenly they look like an entirely different person and the others are just like- wtfwtf who are you, why the hell do you look like that?? But another thing to consider: the relationships. Which siblings would be real off set too and what friendships and duos/trios would still be real outside of filming.
Just-
Actor au to get rid of life's problems.
Heyhey!
Okay so I’ll be honest, I saw your ask before but I had a really hard time answering because I don’t really know anything about actor AUs. But I gave it my best shot, so I hope this is sort of what you had in mind? I kept it mostly to the main GO cast.
As for appearances, here's a few I could see happening:
Kirino wears hair extensions. His hair color is already pretty extreme, so I think he’d keep it shorter in reality, and the pigtails are just part of his outfit.
Hamano normally has his hair combed down around his face instead of standing up, and in exchange for his goggles he’s got a red and white bandana.
Shinsuke doesn’t wear his headband outside of filming. It’s part of his outfit because of his supposed resemblance to Endou’s character.
Shindou actually has glasses, although he also wears lenses. Kind of depends on his mood. I think it suits him!
Saru is just Tenma in a wig
As for relationships, whoa this is gonna be a wild ride. I had fun with it. So, brace yourselves!
The easiest: Haruna and Kidou aren’t siblings. They don't really look alike. Gouenji and Yuuka probably are siblings though, their eyes are quite similar.
Not so bad, hm? Well, here's where it gets weird.
One thing that comes to mind is, before I watched GO, I saw some clips on YouTube, and there was the moment where Tenma miximaxed with Shuu. Afterwards, Shuu’s kneeling on the ground and Aoi helps him up:
I remember thinking Aoi and Shuu look a little bit similar? That interaction made me wonder for a second if they were siblings (sue me, I didn't know anything about IEGO at the time). They look just similar enough that it works, same eye shape, blueish hair… it’s a bit far-fetched, but I think it’s funny. So, they’d be siblings!
Tachimukai and Kinako would be related - they’ve got similar bangs! Similar hair! Similar eyes! Obviously Tachimukai in GO would be ten years older, so maybe Kinako’s his niece or something.
I mean, it works.
Okay, and now my personal favorite. Taiyou wears a wig and is related to the Tsurugi brothers.
…yeah it sounds weird I know, BUT! He’s got literally the same eyes as Yuuichi, just a different color, and he’s super pale too, just like Yuuichi and Kyousuke.
I mean, c’mon. Tell me you don’t see it, I dare you. Give Taiyou spiky navy hair, and they’d totally be related.
Not convinced?
I mean, come on. I’d even say that in facial features, Taiyou looks more like Yuuichi than Kyousuke does.
And besides, in case people really, really dislike blue-haired Taiyou, there's always this option:
:D

“If you want to cum then you’re gonna have to beg.” with RanTaku ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)
!! Aged up characters. Top Kirino & Bottom Shindou -> Aged up Kirino; 20-21 YO, University student and proplayer. -> Aged up Shindou; 20-21 YO, Pianist.
>> You can read it HERE <<
In English and in Spanish. After the cut a little part with the Prompt. Don't read if you don't like this kind of things. It's smut.
Warning: Smut. Read on your own responsability.
Last warning, if you decide to read it don't complain later. "Ranmaru," he groaned in a small voice as he felt on the verge of orgasm with the constant pounding inside him.
The pinkhead licked his lips with emotion and kissed him on the neck, he also felt that he was about to reach an orgasm again.
"Ranmaru..." he repeated with a bratty tantrum that only amused the other young man more, he increased the ferocity of thrusting as he left an aggressive bite on his neck, Shindou moaned loudly, his vision blurry from all those sensations.. "Ranmaru..."
"Yeah? What do you want, my Love?" he asked in a scratchy moan, Shindou whimpered in response without managing to articulate any words and he licked his ear biting his earlobe as he withdrew. "Do you want to cum, babe?"
"Yes..." He writhed and jerked at that growing need that was impeded by the pinkhead's hand even if he didn't stop ramming him from behind.
“Beg for it and I will give it to you, my love. Beg me.”
"Oh?..."
"If you want to cum then you're gonna have to beg, babe."
The dark haired tried to get up; but he had no left forces. That throbbing, burning sensation inside him was so wonderful that it was tearing him apart, tears running down his cheeks, eyes wetting the futon. He wanted more, he wanted Kirino to keep ravishing and thrusting into him, but he needed to ejaculate, the sensation in his front was too painful.
"Please…"
“That can't even be considered begging, Takuto. Do it well, beg me correctly for what you want me to do." Kirino moaned in his ear from the unbelievable sensation that intoxicated him completely and made him reach heaven.
“Ranmaru! Ah!”
"Beg for it and I'll let you cum all you want, my love."

Hi!
If you don't mind, will the personalities of Raimon be different from the Anime? And will there be any relationships you will focus on(doesn't have to be ships)?
(I read your story on AO3 and it is amazing so far!!! Please keep up the great work with your AU and your drawings!!!)
Thank you!
Oh, their personalities are very different from the original series alright~
Tenma is more mature and has common sense in here, though he's still a soccer freak, but in the hyperfixiative way. He also knows his place as a captain, both in and out of soccer, so he won't hesitate to abuse his position if you do some bullshitry and batshitry. He still has his inferiority complex though :).
He can also swear(he's half British, from his father's side), and he he does it frequently. In the GO anime, he just doesn't swear because he finds it stupidly funny of his friends to think he's only a 13 year old autistic kid with a soccer hyperfixiation, he internally cackles at how wrong his friends are.
Though if you're unfortunate enough to encounter him first while he's pissed oh you will shiver because of how ruthless he qnd how mean he can be, you wouldn't be able to recognize him as the Tenma you knew.
Shindou here, still is the gamemaker genius of their team, though he now is more leaning in the middle of the empathic and logical side of his brain. Yes, he swears. He can get annoyed, and he will become sassy and will roast you if you piss him off.
Yes, everyone in Raimon still considers him the "crybaby" of the team, and he continues to deny it while crying a bucket. He has fucking OCD, and is a psychopath. Come on, how can he not be a psychopath?
Tsurugi is more open eventually to his friends, sometimes being the one who offers a hug, and sometimes asking his long haired teammates to let him braid their hair.
He's still introverted though, as he sometimes wants to be alone to his thoughts, and of course, his friends respect that. And he's a mix of being touch averse and touch starved at the same time, due to him longing affection and at the same time, still recovering from the long-term trauma effects of his aunt's sexual abuse on him.
Tsurugi is not who you expect him to be; in this AU, he has a secret stash of mangas and make-up palletes underneath his bed. No context on that one.
Shinsuke is more mature here too, but at the same time, more chaotic. Like, "I will commit arson and you cant stop me" chaotic. Yes, he had burned a vehicle once, but it was on accident. He's pretty empathic too, and he will kill for his friends.
He gets triggered easily by someone who messes up baking bread. Well, when you're of French descent, you will get triggered if someone bakes bread the wrong way.
Joke, everyone in Raimon Eldritch Chronicles; Raimon has killed for each other.
Kirino in this AU is a girl(yes I am aware that the Kirino in the anime is a boy, but we'll ignore that), and is calm and serene. But deep down...
...she's basically a Hispanic. Like, she will yell "Puta madre" out of nowhere, grab anything she can reach, whether be a slipper, a coat hanger, a stick, her own shoe, and will chase you around 6 laps and once she gets you, will spank your ass like those hispanic moms. She's the mom friend of the group basically, but is nonetheless a good person. Well, as long as you're on her good side.
(This will be part one of listing their personalities, I'll make a part two soon when I have the time.)

Curtains Before The Doors
Hi there! Just wanted to warn you guys that this has some minor spoilers from chapter 12 of Judgment. This is the first really big fic I’ve written with Kirino and I’ll probably be making a part 2 sometime in the future! (Also this is a character x oc type fic so if that’s not your thing I’m sorry) Also special shout out to @morninggloryworm for not only letting me use one of her ocs (for this and future stuff) but for giving me writing advice and inspiration for this fic!
It was a solid plan. Risky but doable. Sure it cause some time and energy to get the sweets that would tempt Saori to agree to this but it would be worth it to have her help again. Yagami walked into the Genda law office with Kirino close behind him. She had been more quiet than normal on the way down, like she had been lost in thought about something. Yagami decided to wait until they left to ask about it.
Once they were inside, Yagami immediately explained to Saori what they needed her to do, causing Hoshino practically jump out of his seat. “You can’t ask her to do something like that! Dressing as a hostess is one thing but this is a different level!”
“Now hold on” Yagami started as Genda walked over to the group. “Just let me explain-“
“No he’s right” Kirino spoke up causing everyone to turn their heads. “...I’ll do it”
“Huh?” Yagami’s eyes went wide at the sudden decision. “It seems you made her feel guilty, Hoshino-kun” Genda commented looking over at the younger man. “H-Huh? I-I didn’t mean-“ Hoshino said putting his hands up before Kirino continued.
“No. I’ve been thinking about this for a while now. Saori-san has already given us her time once at the hostess club. And asking her to do something even more dangerous...I just can’t allow it” Kirino explained. “Besides questioning people is part of my job, so fake interviews shouldn’t be too hard to do”.
“Ayabe-san. I appreciate the concern but I want to find the truth for Shintani-san. If you need me to do this then I will” Saori said wanting to reassure the other woman.
“I’ve made up my mind. But if you want...you could help me with this god awful hair of mine” Kirino said smiling to her a bit.
Yagami looked at her concerned. This kind of situation wouldn’t be easy for her. He knew about her past mistreatment working with the police. Was she really going to be okay?
“I feel a lot better about this now. Thank you so much, Ayabe-san!” Hoshino smiled bowing a bit. “Are you sure you’re the one that’s supposed to be thanking her?” Genda asked him chuckling a bit.
“Very well. We’ll meet you at the ADDC later” Saori said to Yagami as she got up from her desk.
“Right. See you soon...” Yagami said more hesitant than he was when he walked in.
———————————————————
It didn’t take long before Kirino’s taxi arrived in front of the ADDC. Yagami looked up from where he was standing as she walked up to the entrance. “I know it’s weird to see me like this, but you don’t need to give me that look” Kirino said when she walked up to him. Her outfit was much more professional looking than her usual attire. Not only that but she had her hair up in a low ponytail as well.
“Weird isn’t the word I would use. You just look...different. In a good way I mean!” Yagami said stumbling on his words a bit. Kirino laughed a little at that and gave him a smile. “Thanks. Honestly never thought I’d wear this again. You’d never think this was the type of outfit I used to wear everyday”
Yagami’s face fell again at the statement. Before he could say anything Kirino looked over at the bag in his hand. “I’m guessing that’s the camera”
“Right. It has a live feed so I’ll be able to see what’s happening on my phone. Take this earpiece too” Yagami said holding out his other hand. “Perfect. I think I know a bit about flirting from the girls at the casino but it might be nice to have backup” Kirino said taking the earpiece.
“I won’t be too far from the building. Kaito-san will be meeting up with me shortly. Now if anything goes wrong or if you start feeling to uncomfortable just stick your pinkie out to the camera and I’ll be there” Yagami told her.
“Wait...hand signals? I don’t remember you planning than when we were going to have Saori-san go in for us” Kirino said giving him a puzzled look. “I know I just...I realized it was probably a good idea. Just in case” Yagami said. “Alright I’ll keep it in mind. See you later” Kirino said taking the bag from him and walking into the building.
———————————————————
“You’ve made me a very happy man today”.
Kirino remembered the words Kido had told her as she walked out of the ADDC. She had never felt more disgusted in her life. To think she was actually starting to think the man was just going to ogle her with his eyes and not try again. She did her best to shrug it off. After all having him actually touch her was the best outcome they could have asked for. As she walked along the sidewalk, she started to notice just how quiet her earpiece had gotten at the end of the interview. Yagami hadn’t been found out had he?
“Hey are you still okay? I just got outside” Kirino said lowering her voice in case someone overheard. “Oh hey Ayabe-chan! Sorry for the silence” Kaito answered surprising the girl. “We were just uh...making sure we got everything recorded well before heading back is all”
“Did something happen? Where’s Yagami-san?” Kirino said not buying the story.
“Well about that...you see-H-Hey! Tabo!” Kaito could be heard yelling as it seemed the earpiece was being tugged away from him. “Kirino? Are you alright? Did he hurt you?” Yagami asked his voice sounding more frantic than before.
“No I’m fine. I mean yeah he got handsy at the end but he didn’t force himself on me” Kirino assured him. She was taken aback by the sudden change in his tone. “We’ll come meet you at the entrance. Stay right there” Yagami told her.
———————————————————
It wasn’t long before the three were back at the detective agency. Yagami was working on the email to Kido to get him to meet at the batting center. Kaito was watching the footage again just as Kirino came back from changing her clothes. “Man Ayabe-chan, you’re pretty good at this” Kaito said smirking at her as she sat down. “You practically had him wrapped around your finger”
“Think so? I admit I was worried I wasn’t doing enough at times” Kirino said frowning at bit when she heard her own voice from the video. “Come on. Give yourself some credit! You did great” Kaito said giving her an encouraging smile. “Well thanks I-“ Kirino was interrupted by her own gasp on the phone had the video replayed the moment Kido touched her.
“Turn that thing down! I’m trying to concentrate” Yagami raised his voice sternly surprising the two. “Alright. Alright sorry” Kaito apologized as he turned the volume down on his phone. Kirino looked at Yagami as he finished up his email. What the hell was up with him all of a sudden?
“You really think he’s gonna show?” Kaito asked him in an attempt to change the topic. “He’d be a fool not to. I sent the video under Kirino’s name and everything” Yagami said taking a deep breath. “Where are we meeting at then?” Kaito asked.
“The batting center. I already sent Sugiura and Higashi to scope the place out. I don’t know where they decided we would take Kido afterwards but I’ll have Inoue-san bring Kirino once we have him” Yagami explained. “Right. Me showing up there might add too much fuel to the fire. I can keep busy here until later” Kirino agreed.
“Well then. Let’s get his ass!” Kaito said standing up from the couch. Yagami followed behind him until he felt a hand grab his wrist. “Actually I...I want to talk to you before you go. Please?” Kirino asked. She hated confrontation but at this point it was going to kill her if she didn’t get the truth before things pick up.
Yagami hesitated for a second before looking over at Kaito. “Wait for me outside for a few minutes okay?”
Kaito nodded and left the room leaving the two alone. The first few seconds were silent. Just as Yagami was about to say something Kirino spoke up. “What’s going on with you?”
“I’m not sure what you-“
“Do you really underestimate me that much? I could tell the second your tone and emotions about this plan changed” Kirino interrupted standing up. “Look I’m sorry. I know my decision to be part of the honey trap interrupted everything you had planned out when Saori was supposed to be involved but I didn’t expect it to upset you this much”
“What? No. No this has nothing to do with the planning or Saori-san for that matter” Yagami said not expecting all that she was saying. “What else could it be? You started acting strangely ever since I took her place. Why am I so different from her?” Kirino asked moving a hand to her hip.
“I just...I know the shit you had to deal with, Kirino-san. I was just worried about you”
“So you felt better about having someone who’s never been harassed before dealing with that disgusting asshole?”
“No! I just didn’t want you to have to go through anything like that again.”
“Well you ended up agreeing to letting me do did you not?”
“Well maybe I shouldn’t have!”
The conversation grew more heated as it went on but neither of the two seemed to care at this point.
“What do you mean? Isn’t the evidence we got the best we could have asked for?”
“Kirino if I had known he was really going to touch you I would have never let you walk in there”
“I knew what I was getting into when I decided to do this!”
“I don’t think you understand-“
“I don’t understand!? Remind me which one of us here was the one who’s ass got grabbed”
“That’s not what I meant-“
“I’m used to men being creepy and treating me like shit! You really think I couldn’t handle one more!? I dealt with this shit for YEARS! Why the hell do you care so fucking much!?”
“BECAUSE YOU’RE IMPORTANT TO ME!”
And just like that the room was silent again. Kirino stared at Yagami eyes widening as she processed what she heard. “Yagami-san...?”
“I’ve already had people that were important to me be hurt or taken. If something happened to you I...I just can’t go through that again...” Yagami admitted not meeting her eyes anymore.
“Yagami I-“ Kirino started to say before Yagami’s phone beeped. He looked down to read the text message. “It’s Kaito. I need to go.”
“Oh...right...” Kirino trailed off looking down at her feet. “It...probably wasn’t the best time to talk about this...huh?”
Yagami didn’t speak as he put his phone in his pocket and walked over to the door. He stopped as he put his hand on the knob. “Promise me you’ll stay here until Inoue-san gets here...okay?”
Kirino nodded her head and looked back up at him. “I promise.”
Yagami didn’t turned around or even acknowledge her response. He simply turned the door handle and walked off down the stairs, leaving Kirino to process everything alone.

Shinkane Week Day 3
A 1918 chauffeur/ojousama AU, anyone?
Prompt: Dreams
“Where to?”
“Ousou Institute, please.” His new employer’s granddaughter had good manners, obvious even before she spoke. Her hair was neatly combed, and there wasn’t a wrinkle in her school uniform. Her leather boots were polished and her hands demurely placed in her lap. “Thank you, Kougami-san.”
His gloved hands slid along the steering wheel. “Don’t thank me. I’m only doing my job as your chauffeur.”
Miss Tsunemori was taken aback, and he forced the image of her wide eyes out of his head before he started driving. He could feel her gaze at the back of his head, prickling under his hat.
He didn’t understand why Gino had recommended him for the position. They both grew up in the rowhouses, and of the two of them, Kougami was rougher around the edges. Someone like him was better off as a soldier in the Emperor’s army or a viscount’s bodyguard. Not a driver for a sixteen-year-old girl. However, Tsunemori Aoi seemed to think he would make a good addition to her household. The typhus epidemic of 1914 had taken her son and daughter-in-law; perhaps, her judgment was clouded.
He parked at the black iron gates of the school. Here, girls were educated to be ladylike wives and mothers. An Ousou graduate was the picture of propriety.
He opened the car door for her, and she stepped out. She gave him a pointed look. “Thank you, Kougami-san.” Before he could protest, she quickly added. “My parents raised me to be courteous. So, I’m doing my job.” With a little smile, she entered the school.
Huh. What a strange girl.
***
“You gonna sleep with her?” Sasayama crassly asked. He patted Kougami’s back as he choked on his cigarette.
“The hell? When did I ever say something like that?!”
“Come on, it was a joke.” Sasayama was another chauffeur, for the Kirino family. He was often at odds with Toko, his charge who disliked his rudeness. They were on a smoke break, while waiting for class to finish.
“I’d rather not get fired.” Kougami tapped off the ashy end. “Or executed by Gino.”
“Your employer’s secretary, right? Ha, well, at least your young miss thanks you. Miss Toko always looks at me with such contempt. That’s fine though! As if I could ever be interested in a brat like her.”
The gates opened and the students walked out. Tsunemori was speaking to two other girls, laughing with them. He put out his cigarette and started the car. It wasn’t long before she slid into the back seat. Her face was flushed and Sasayama’s earlier statement echoed in his mind. He wished he could remove his hat to cool off; instead, he fiddled with his gloves.
“Where to?”
“Home, please. Were you smoking?”
“Does it bother you, Miss Tsunemori?”
“Hmm.” She leaned forward in her seat and inhaled. Her face was just over his shoulder, and her proximity startled him. He noticed her scent. Lemon and sugar, like a cold bottle of ramune in summertime. “I don’t mind at all. By the way, can I ask you a question?”
“…Sure.”
“Is it hard to drive a car?”
He smiled. “It takes some practice. Do you want to sit up front?”
“Eh?”
“If you want to find out, you have to see what I’m doing.”
He expected her to politely refuse, but she really did move to the seat beside him. She stared about in obvious fascination, sparing a glance to the back seat for comparison.
“It really is different up here.”
He couldn’t help snickering, and she gave him an indignant expression.
Miss Tsunemori was certainly inquisitive. She asked how he gauged speed and distance, when to turn and when to brake. Then, she apologized for potentially distracting him. He assured her otherwise; he was accustomed to driving and even though she was the most curious girl he’d ever met, he wasn’t bothered at all.
“If you could drive anywhere, where would you go?” She asked.
“Somewhere quiet, like the mountains. What about you?”
She tilted her head. “I haven’t thought about it before.”
“Most young ladies would like to see the ocean.”
“However, I don’t know how to swim. And the ocean is very deep.”
“It’s full of monsters too.”
“Kougami-san!” But she laughed, and the sound was surprisingly endearing.
***
“Oh, no!”
Kougami looked overhead, at the open window. Papers soared upwards, then floated down to the grass around him. Miss Tsunemori’s face soon appeared from above, and the wind ruffled her hair.
“Ah, excuse me, Kougami-san! I’ll come down to get those.”
“It’s alright, I’ll go to you.” He bent to retrieve the sheets. They were faintly yellowed, most likely the loose pages of a book. “Are you in the library?”
“Yes, and thank you so much. I left the window open for fresh air, but maybe, that wasn’t the best idea.”
“It wasn’t your fault. Do you need anything else?”
“No, I’ll see you in a minute.”
On the stairs, he passed Masaoka, the household’s butler. “Kougami? Where are you going?”
“The library. Miss Tsunemori dropped these outside.”
“Did they fall in the garden? Where’s Kagari?”
“Don’t know.” That was a lie. The young gardener, Kagari, loved card games. He was probably trying to clean out Hinakawa. The poor kid was bound to lose a portion of his footman’s salary.
“Well, I’ll hunt them down.” Masaoka’s gaze searched Kougami, for a long moment. “Tell the young miss that the lady wants to know if she needs a new gown for next month. She’d ask herself, but she’s being examined by Dr. Karanomori.”
“I won’t forget.”
Admittedly, the library was beautiful. The full shelves nearly reached the ceiling, and a pair of cushioned chairs were positioned by the large glass window. Miss Tsunemori had closed it, and she had the book open on a round table, fingers in between the pages to mark the gaps. She smiled when he walked into the sunlit room.
“Could you help me? I’m afraid I’ll lose track if I move.”
Per her instructions, he rightfully replaced the pages, interleaving them as best as he could. The subject of the book didn’t escape him. “You’re interested in the law.” He remarked.
“I met a female legal assistant when I was a little girl. She said she once disguised herself as a boy to be a lawyer for a day in the Meiji era. I thought it was a wonderful story, and I wanted to do the same. To be a lawyer.”
“Unfortunately, that’s still not possible yet.”
“No, but it’s my dream. Was driving cars yours?”
He gave a short laugh. “No. My childhood dream was to be a detective. I wanted to solve crime and arrest evildoers. Keep people safe.”
“And you couldn’t?”
“Money was a limiting factor.”
“I could ask my grandmother to give you a raise.”
“I won’t say no. Or is that your way of saying you don’t need me?”
“Sorry, I didn’t mean it like that.” She reflexively apologized. “I only want to help you.”
“Don’t worry about it. Dreams are just wishful thinking.”
“The future isn’t set in stone. Things can change in your favor.”
“Some things don’t. The four classes were abolished, but society hasn’t progressed.”
“People aren’t passive. We want to improve our situation, maybe not for ourselves, but at least for the next generation.”
“You have a lot of faith in humanity. There are people who would call you naïve.”
“Are you one of them, Kougami-san?”
“No.” He paused. “Kindness has never been my strong point, so you’re admirable in that regard.” Feeling he said too much, he took a step back. “Your grandmother would like to know if you need a new gown for next month.”
“Hm? Oh, for Kaori’s engagement party. I really don’t, Obaa-chan gets too worked up over such things.” She sighed. Once again, she was the noble lady and the stark difference in their statuses was made known.
There was a knock at the door, and the maid, Kunizuka, entered. Stoically, she said. “Excuse me. I need to clean up.”
Kougami followed her lead. “And I need to tune up the car. Have a good afternoon, Miss Tsunemori.” He was already down the hall when her belated voice answered.
“Um, you too…”
***
Her friend’s engagement party occurred on a hot summer night. Miss Tsunemori wore red, and the color suited her well. A silken rose was tucked behind her ear, the perfume lingering in the air. She didn’t ask how she looked, but her hands nervously plucked at her skirt. When they arrived at their destination, she curtsied. “Thank you for driving me. Please don’t feel like you have to stay the entire time.”
“Ah. Take care.”
“I promise.” She straightened her posture and blew out a breath.
“Wait.” He whipped out his handkerchief and held it out to her. “You have too much rouge on your mouth.” The dark shade was like blood.
“Dr. Karanomori said it was about right.”
“I won’t argue if you want to be like her, but I think you should just be yourself.”
She pursed her lips and kissed the cloth before handing it back. “Thank you. I’ll see you later.”
The crimson imprint of her mouth on his handkerchief sparked something within him. Something intense and foreign and not entirely unpleasant. He folded it up and grabbed his cigarettes, lighting one with fervor.
Time dragged on. Noise hovered around the mansion, the lights swaying in the dark. The guests gradually walked out and drove away. Tsunemori was one of the last, and he felt relieved when she emerged. Her rose had wilted, her rouge faded even more. Meanwhile, the heat had caused him to remove his coat and loosen the top buttons of his shirt. “Where to?”
“…oh.” She blinked and hurriedly entered the seat next to him. “Home, please.”
The roads were empty and it was too quiet. “Meet any potential husbands?” He abruptly asked.
“Well, no.” She slowly answered. She seemed distracted but he couldn’t sense a lie. “No one really caught my attention.”
“Your grandmother will be disappointed.”
“I can live with that.”
“Not for long.”
“Are you married?” She retorted.
“No. I’m not exactly charming or wealthy.” He stopped the car in front of the house.
“Those aren’t everything. A good heart is worth more.” Her voice was gentle and he glanced at her. The spark flared. He wanted to rub his thumb against her bottom lip, smear her makeup, find out if her skin was as soft as that rose’s petals.
His gloved fingers dug into his thigh, the pain clarifying. He struggled to maintain a neutral façade. “We’ve arrived. Looks like everyone else is asleep.”
“That’s alright, I’ll just slip in. And please put your clothes back on!” A blush washed over her face, before she primly turned away. He acquiesced and buttoned up. The practical part of him seized control. She was eight years younger than him and his mistress. Delusions were completely unnecessary.
Gino was waiting for them. “Welcome home, Miss Tsunemori.”
“I’m back, Ginoza-san.”
“Did you enjoy yourself at the party?”
“I did, but I am tired. Have a good evening.” She held a hand over her mouth to conceal a yawn. “Good night, Kougami-san.”
“Good night, Miss Tsunemori.” His gaze unconsciously followed her up the staircase until her bedroom door softly shut.
Gino folded his arms. “You’re quite close to the young miss.”
“I drive her every day.”
“Miss Tsunemori is a young lady. Soon, she’ll marry well and have her own family. It’s our job to ensure the purity of her reputation.”
“If you’re so concerned, you can always get rid of me.” He dared.
“If you were anyone else, I wouldn’t hesitate. But I know you well enough and I’ve decided to trust you with her safety. Don’t make me regret that.” Gino curtly said before pushing up his glasses and turning on his heel.
Miss Tsunemori’s safety was imperative, when the rice riots started. The cost of the grain was inflated and people were eager to demonstrate their anger. With her grandmother’s hospitalization for a respiratory illness, Miss Tsunemori was the staff’s sole priority. Even their cook, Sugo, had sharpened every kitchen knife. Kougami had a pistol for his own protection, and he ensured it was ready to be utilized at a moment’s notice.
Ousou Institute was temporarily closed. Miss Tsunemori was disappointed at first, until she settled into her responsibilities. Her shyness gave way to a steady hand and clear gaze. She followed the budgeting with Ginoza, helped Hinakawa overcome an asthma attack, and even bailed Kagari out of a minor debt, squeezing a promise to stick to his limits out of him. Kougami was rather proud of her.
If she allowed him to stay by her side, he would happily be her guard dog.
Cracks appeared in that dream, on a shopping trip. It was supposed to be an ordinary outing, with Miss Tsunemori buying sturdy fabric for their winter clothes. The distant noise intensified, and a low rumble shook the walls of the store.
“Sounds like another riot.” He rushed out to start the car, and the tapping of her boots followed behind.
“Ah!”
He whipped around, to see her holding onto the door frame, feet splayed and knees bent. “Are you hurt?”
“I slipped…wait! W-what are you doing?”
He lifted her into his arms. “My job. I’m taking you home.”
Ignoring the startled voices of the shopkeepers, he carried her to the car. Unfortunately, it was already too late. The mob surged around them, and fists slammed against the windows. The glass didn’t break, but she flinched. Before he could think better of it, he grasped her shoulder.
“You’ll be alright.”
“Mm.” She stiffly nodded. “I’m glad you’re with me.”
“…so am I.”
Police officers joined the fray, and gradually, the street cleared. He continued to drive slowly, taking a detour in case they were being followed. “I’ll help you into the house.”
“Kougami-san!” She protested but he gave her a flat look.
“I insist, Miss Tsunemori.”
She bit her lip but didn’t argue as he opened the door. He took her hand and placed it on his forearm; her touch radiated warmth through his sleeve. They only managed a short distance when Miss Tsunemori became taut.
“Ginoza-san!”
His friend stared at them, his voice like the edge of a blade. “What are you doing?”
***
He wasn’t fired, but he was given unpaid leave for a week. When he returned, he heard Miss Tsunemori’s faint voice behind a door. Upon pressing his ear to it, Masaoka’s voice came through as well.
“Don’t mind Ginoza.” Masaoka chuckled. “He can’t help but compare what happened to his own parents. His mother was a noblewoman, and his father was her family’s butler. They married to the disapproval of nearly everyone they knew, and despite love, they had a poor life. Until her death, he couldn’t make her happy. Ginoza is afraid he’s seeing the same thing over again.”
“He isn’t, because it’s not an illicit love affair.” Miss Tsunemori countered.
“From what I’ve observed, I can agree. What the two of you have is something like fate. But there’s a line between the two of you, one that shouldn’t be crossed for the sake of propriety. All I can say is that if you want to, I won’t stop you as long as you’re prepared to live with the consequences.”
The door abruptly swung open, and Kougami darted to the other side of the hallway, feigning obliviousness. Miss Tsunemori locked eyes with him before remembering herself and finding great interest in her cuffs. Masaoka offered a half-smile. “Ah, Kougami. Welcome back. By the way, the lady wants to speak with you upstairs. She’s in the library.”
“Alright.” A line that shouldn’t be crossed. He did not look back as he went to the old matriarch.
The lady was sitting down, a blanket over her lap. She slightly inclined her head to Kougami. “I wanted to thank you for protecting my granddaughter. She’s all I have left, and you will always have my gratitude.”
“Looking after her has been an honor and a privilege.” And he meant it.
His sincerity induced a smile from the lady before she continued. “That said, I’m not going to live forever. I want to be sure that Akane is taken care of.” Despite her frail appearance, her voice was firm.
“I understand.”
Her marriage was arranged. Tougane Sakuya was the heir to a wealthy business conglomerate and it was supposed to be a well-made match. Kougami researched him, out of concern for his mistress. He did not like what he uncovered and it must have shown on his face.
During the usual drive home, Miss Tsunemori quietly asked. “Kougami-san, what are you thinking?”
“Is that an order?”
“No, it isn’t. You looked into him, didn’t you?”
“Yes.”
“What did you find?”
“He’s a respected businessman. Any upper-class family would love to work with him.”
“I see.” She pressed her lips together.
He added. “Often, good businessmen are cruel. This one seems particularly so. When I asked around, I had the impression that the servants fear him.”
Miss Tsunemori’s eyes were downcast. “If that’s the case, then so would a wife.”
He didn’t say anything to that. He parked outside of the house, promising he’d go to the garage later. He handed her a pistol, the pearl handle worn in comparison to his own gun. “This belonged to my mother. Think of it as a contingency. Use it if you feel like you need to.” He showed her how to load and fire, numbly going through the motions before she exited the vehicle.
She spoke again after she closed the door, her serious face on the other side of his window. “I appreciate your gift, but I won’t kill anyone, Kougami-san. Not even myself.”
“I know.” And he drove off.
***
Miss Tsunemori was being fitted for her wedding attire, and Kougami couldn’t stay in the house.
(He caught a glimpse of her when Kunizuka left the room to fetch something. She looked lovely and somber, in white for mourning and bridal anticipation for another man.)
He aimlessly wandered throughout the city, and there was relative calm for most of the day. As he grudgingly returned, a commotion rose in the adjacent neighborhood. His speculation that it was another riot was soon dissolved.
Police were gathered around the Kirino mansion, and a group filed out, carrying two covered bodies. Kirino and his daughter. The servants were handcuffed, but they were all unfamiliar. Then, where was his friend?
Sasayama had once shared his address, a dingy place among the rowhouses. As Kougami drew closer, he heard muffled screaming. He threw open the door.
A rusty katana split Sasayama’s chest, his face a tortured mess. Blood splattered onto a stranger’s grinning face, and he removed the sword with familiar ease before lunging towards Kougami. Instinct saved him, made him dodge the blow.
His control snapped. He ran after the stranger, into the open street. It was simple enough to squeeze the trigger. As the gunshot echoed and the body fell still, the bystanders’ shock registered and cleared the clouds of his fury and righteous satisfaction. No one would believe him.
He had to run.
He left two notes. One was tucked in the pocket of Gino’s coat, explaining what had happened and apologizing for squandering the chance given to him. The other was left in her writing desk, thanking her for employing him and that he had cherished their brief time together. If she had changed her mind, he would be waiting at midnight in that abandoned dojo on the outskirts of town.
The moon climbed directly overhead. He lit a cigarette and stared at the burning end. He’d go when he finished it. Somehow, it burned faster than he expected and had to be extinguished before it singed his fingertips.
Well, of course, she wouldn’t come. She was dutiful and proper and virtuous.
Movement caught his eye. In the moonlight, a car headed in his direction. It stopped just down the road, and a schoolboy ran out of the driver’s seat. No, wait…
“…Akane?!” He sprinted towards her and caught her shoulders to stop her. “You really did leave?”
She doubled over and held her knees as she gasped for air. “Tougane-san was hiding in my room.”
Rage coursed through him. “Where is he?”
“Probably with the police. I…I used your pistol. I shot him in the shoulder and he ran.”
“You did the right thing.” Unlike him. “What about your grandmother?”
“She’s staying behind, she didn’t want to slow me down. I didn’t want to leave her, but she insisted. Everyone else promised to take care of her and they helped me get out, Ginoza even gave me his old school uniform. I had to cut my hair. Is it too short?” She removed her hat and her hair was cropped close. It was a rather modern haircut.
“It looks good.”
“Huh?! Th-thank you.” She stammered, and his laughter rang out. He ripped off the damn gloves and held out his hand.
“Where to?”

A Nephew and His Uncle, A Hikaru Fanfic
This fanfic is born out of the frustration of Kageyama Hikaru not meeting his uncle. You could view this as a partial Galaxy ending!rewrite. This is my take on how their meeting would have been like. I don't know if Level-5 is ever gonna address this. If they never, at least you guys have this fic as a backup and consolidation. I had to consult some episodes of Galaxy to refresh my memory (my most unfavourable season, bless my resilience). I apologise in advance for any inconsistencies or distorted flow compared to the anime. There are minor alterations you might notice to accommodate this fic. Nonetheless, I hope you enjoy the story!
*Dedicated to Hikaru, Reiji, and anyone who wished for this to happen in canon.
*The Earth Eleven only appear heavily at the first half of the story and are in no part of the reunion between Hikaru and Reiji. I apologise if you guys want to see their reactions to that.
Tenma, Tsurugi, Shindou, and Shinsuke were in the Galaxy Nauts's headroom on the way back to Earth from Falam Orbius. They were opening a video call to the Raimon Soccer Team to inform them of their return. The rest of the Earth Eleven members were making a ruckus at the back of the room trying to handle Minori who was aggressively manhandling Kusaka and Tetsukadou like they were leaves that she could brush off.
"Y-you see, M-Mizukawa-sa-" Kusaka tried to placate the girl.
"I ASKED, WHERE AM I?! ANSWER ME?!" Minori grabbed Kusaka's hair and forced him down on his knees to face her.
"Ah, my hair!"
"P-please l-listen to us. We'll be back on-" Tetsukadou stepped forward and tried to calm the green-haired girl as well.
"HUH?! YOU WANT TO FIGHT ME?! BRING IT ON!"
"Ahhhh nonono I have no inten-" Minori did not hear Tetsukadou's words. She grabbed his collar, lifted him high, and vigorously shook him back and forth.
"AHHHH, MOMMMMMYYYYY!" Tetsukadou screamed.
"Waitwaitwaitwait!" Kusaka yelled as Minori, with her hand still holding on to Tetsukadou's collar, wrapped her other arm around Kusaka's neck in an attempt to choke him. "Uck! Sa-save me..."
"They seem to be making a ruckus. Will they be fine?" Tsurugi commented to Shindou as they were watching the commotion. Meanwhile, Tenma and Shinsuke were setting up the conference at the console. "It's been a long time since I was with the team, but..."
"They will. We are the Earth Eleven after all." Shindou answered calmly. The brown-haired boy turned his body to face the monitor.
"I-is that so...?" Tsurugi eyed his senior with distress. A sweat drop rolled down his cheek. He took a glance at the back of the room, noting Ibuki making his way to sort out the fight, possibly exposing himself to torture. He quickly turned around to face the monitor, hopefully, to focus his attention on the video call.
"Tenma, are you sure you've input the details correctly? We don't want to randomly connect to some other off-world planet." Shinsuke asked from beside Tenma who was setting up the call.
"It'll be alright, Shinsuke!" Tenma said as he tapped on a few buttons while looking at a piece of paper by Kabata Shizune, the Galaxy Nauts's conductor. "I think these are the inputs...and...done!" A final push of a button and out popped a transparent window with a view of the Raimon Eleven players in the Raimon soccer clubroom.
"Hey everyone! We won the final match! We're coming back to Earth!" Tenma greeted his friends.
"Congrats on winning, everyone! How are you guys holding up?" Sangoku spoke for the team.
"A lot of things happened, Sangoku-senpai!" Shinsuke piped up. "Like Tsurugi was replaced by a Fake Tsurugi!"
"WHAT?!" The entire Raimon members exclaimed.
"And that he almost got engaged!"
"WHHAATTTTT?!"
"T-there's no engagement! I'm back now! A-and there was a proper reason for those things..." Tsurugi's flustered answer did not seem to expel the shock on the Raimon members' faces, much to the amusement to Shindou, Tenma and Shinsuke.
"Hikaru!" Tenma called out to the purple-haired boy. There was a particular reason for their call back home. An interesting gift for one of their Raimon member. After the revelation of their coach's identity before they left for space, the Raimon Earth Eleven members knew they had to do something to reconcile the kinship for both their coach and their friend. They had to delay the gift due to the severity of the situation, being that Earth Eleven needed to save their planet and the galaxy from Alien invasion. Now that the Tournament is over, they have the time to procure the present for their friend. It took a lot of convincing, some pushing and pulling from him getting away, but it got Kuroiwa to agree to the idea. Currently, the man was in his office in the Galaxy Nauts sorting out his work.
"Hm?" Hikaru hummed in acknowledgement.
"We have something special for you! From Coach Kuroiwa!" Tenma gave a warm-hearted smile. He noticed everyone's eyes widened, especially Hikaru's.
"C-Coach Kuroiwa..." Hikaru mumbled the name to himself, stunned at Tenma's words.
"What is it, Tenma?" Nishiki asked for everyone.
"He wants to talk to you about something!" Tenma replied, still with the large wide grin on his face. He could not help it. He was very happy and excited for his friend.
"Y-you're not kidding right, Tenma-kun?!" Hikaru asked. His face showed that he understood Tenma's hints. At the same time, he was uncertain if his guess was correct. All the time he consulted Tenma about Kuroiwa while Earth Eleven was still on Earth. All the mystery and confusion of his similarities to his uncle. It was going to be solved, right? "Whatever it is from Coach Kuroiwa..., it-it's the truth, right?!"
"No, I'm not lying! It's the truth!"
"We know you'll be very happy, Hikaru!" Shinsuke and Tenma both gave the purple-haired boy a grin.
"Isn't that great, Hikaru!" Amagi came around Kirino and Sangoku to put his right arm around Hikaru's shoulders, pulling him close to hug him. "Having a present from Earth Eleven's coach!"
"Ah...I-I guess so, Amagi-senpai..."
"Oi oi Tenma-kun," Kariya spoke up beside Hikaru, "What's this information about Coach Kuroiwa and Hikaru? How are you so sure that he’s telling the truth?"
"Gouenji-san and Kidou-san told us! About Coach Kuroiwa and Hikaru's un-" Tenma was cut off by Tsurugi's hand covering the brown-haired boy's mouth. He had his other hand on Tenma's shoulder to ensure he had a firm grip on the teen.
"Tenma, you're saying too much."
"We know that you're excited, but we've agreed to let Coach Kuroiwa do the explanation," Shindou whispered to Tenma, so as not to expose the secret.
"That's right, Tenma! This is a surprise for Hikaru! We shouldn't spoil it for him!" Shinsuke spoke softly to Tenma as well for the same reasons as Shindou. Tsurugi uncovered Tenma's mouth when Tenma muffled something, which Tenma quickly let out the air that he had been holding.
"Pah! ...O-oh yeah...I'm sorry everyone...heh heh!" Tenma scratched the back of his head in embarrassment.
"Tenma-kun!" The voice of Hikaru boomed through the speakers and caught the attention of the four Raimon players in the Galaxy Nauts. "P-please tell me your arrival time! I want to be there on time to meet him!" Hikaru radiated the most determination Tenma had ever seen on his friend. He knew he had to adhere to his wishes. Tenma turned to Manabe and Minaho sitting in the seat on the right beside them, hiding from the situation happening at the back.
"Manabe, what time will we land on Odaiba?" The light purple-haired boy pushed his glasses up before replying,
"Um...based on the calculations," Manabe tapped on some buttons, "it seems we will land at about three in the afternoon, Japan time, captain."
"That will be within thirty minutes. We both concluded together!"
"...! I've never said I needed your assistance, Minaho-kun."
"I know I know...Determining the answer separately gives it more credibility. Don’t you think so, Manabe-kun?"
"...Well, I won't disagree with your logic..."
"Thank you, Minaho, Manabe." Tenma turned back to the Raimon players. "You've heard them. Three PM on the dot."
"Thank you, Tenma-kun!" With that, the purple-haired boy exited the Raimon soccer club room in the speed of light, leaving the rest of the Raimon players still in the room.
"He's really excited," Kurama said with a smirk.
"Well, he's been thinking about it all this time. I wouldn't blame him for that reaction," Sangoku replied.
"He's been thinking about Coach Kuroiwa? How come?" Ichino questioned.
"Haven't you noticed? Coach Kuroiwa looks A LOT like his uncle, Kageyama Reiji!" Hamano jumped into the chat.
"If he could settle this issue with Coach Kuroiwa, it would be nice for Hikaru," Kirino spoke.
CRASH
"W-what happened?!" Kurumada asked. The four Earth Eleven members had turned their heads to the back and found Tetsukadou, Ibuki, and Kusaka on the floor bruised up. Matatagi was engaged in a staring contest with Minori. There was no clue how the fight would end with both person's destructive attitudes. The damage would hurt everyone. They had to stop the fight.
"Ah...t-talk to you guys when we're back. We have some things to take care of! See you guys later!" Tenma blurted out in a hurry.
"Byeee!" That was the last thing Tenma heard from the Raimon Eleven before he shut off the communication line.
----------------------------------------
The entire Raimon soccer team were standing in front of the Galaxy Nauts landing station. All had an excited smile on their faces, except for a certain purple-haired boy with hair shaped like pincers. He was fidgeting restlessly on his spot between Kariya and Kirino.
"Calm your nerves, Hikaru. You're too nervous." Kirino tried to calm the first-year when he noticed him quaking.
"I-I know, Kirino-senpai, b-but it could be him! There are so many things I want to talk to him about! A-at the same time, this is my first time talking to him in person, so I'm not so sure how to act in front of him...W-what if he's really strict and I embarrass myself! H-he will think I'm unworth- TAGAH!" Hikaru was interrupted by Amagi who hit his head.
"HIKARU! Listen to yourself! You've been saying how much you love soccer and how much you wanted to play in your uncle's place! You helped us perfect Double Wing! You scored a goal with your first hissatsu shot that you created! All this within the few weeks you'd been with us! You helped us progressed through the Holy Road and win the Revolution! Don't you see? You've done amazing things your uncle couldn't have done! You've worked hard to get to where you are because of your love for Raimon, your love for your uncle, and your love for soccer! You are worthy, Hikaru!"
"A-Amagi-senpai...You really think so?"
"Of course, Hikaru! We've seen it. We all agree with Amagi here." Kurumada came up to beside Amagi and patted the purple-haired senior's shoulders.
"Don't be afraid, Hikaru-kun! We believe in you!" Hayami encouraged the purple-haired boy. It seemed he was interested in the topic, even despite his meek self.
"A little bit peppy today, aren't you, Hayami?" Kurama teased him.
"I-I'm just trying to support Hikaru-kun that's all!" Kurama grinned, ignoring Hayami's protest.
"Right! Thank you so much, Amagi-senpai! Everyone!" The worries lifted from Hikaru's shoulders as he replied affirmatively.
"Heh heh, I never knew you had it in you, Amagi!" Kurumada's smile turned to a proud grin to his friend.
"W-what?"
"Yeah, Amagi! That's a great speech!" Sangoku complimented.
"You were really cool, Amagi-san," Kirino said next.
"Yes yes! I agree!" Hikaru's eyes beamed in admiration.
"You could be a minister, Amagi-san~" Hamano teased.
"I-is that so? Y-you guys think I have skills in public speaking?! Hehe...haha...HAHAHA! I, Amagi Daichi, am the best at speeches! AHAHAHA!"
"Did we let it get to his head too much?" Kariya commented on the side which no one was able to listen due to Amagi's loud laughter. Just then the loud whoosh from Galaxy Nauts's engines sounded from the skies above them. The Raimon players paused their chatting and quickly formed themselves in a line as they watched the sci-fi train descend and came to a stop at the landing track. The door opened and one by one, the Earth Eleven players exited.
"Ow...ouch!" Tetsukadou was the first out, with a black eye on his face and a bandaged wrist.
"Tek...Even my demon mode didn't work against her..." Kusaka was next, with frizzy hair and a bandaged neck.
"Are you alright, Ibuki? You were thrown very badly." Shinsuke questioned the main goalkeeper, who was limping weirdly and rubbing his shoulders.
"Tsch. I'll live."
"Hmm. Humans are so interesting. Who would have thought Potomuri-san possessing her would have suppressed her abilities that much." Minaho's ear twitched in interest.
"I prefer Minori-san when Potomuri-san was in control. He was so calm and collected." Manabe adjusted his spectacles.
"Captain should've let me handle that green-haired girl. How powerful can she be?" Matatagi rebuked at how he was pushed aside as not to start a fight with Minori.
"I thought you would say that." Zanakuro followed behind Matatagi, saying his common phrase.
"Maybe we shouldn't have hit her in the head. She could be a sweet girl if we let her-" Sakura cut off Aoi during her sentence,
"No no! That woman's a monster! An ogre!" She suggested.
"Rabbits...Flowers...Cats...Rabbits...Flowers...Cats..." Morimura was the last to exit, with her tiny form quietly mumbling safe words to herself.
The Raimon Eleven stared with their jaws wide open in astonishment. Three Earth Eleven players were injured, the girls were scared stiff, one wants to fight someone, two were discussing over possession, and out of all this mess, where were the rest of the Earth Eleven players?!
"Ah, you guys have done a number on this girl." That stopped the Raimon Eleven in their tracks. They watched a middle-age woman and Tenma carrying a green-haired girl on either side of her out of the train.
"Could you bring her to the infirmary by yourself, Auntie?" Tenma asked.
"Of course I can! Who do you think I am? She'll be up and running without you knowing!" The woman smiled widely.
"We don't exactly want her to be running around though..." Tsurugi came up behind the three, mumbling to himself.
"Sorry to trouble you like this, Auntie. Thank you." Shindou thanked Kabata Shizune before the woman gave one last wave. She brought Minori closer for her to lean against Shizune before carrying on towards the building's infirmary to take care of the girl. Kirino blinked in surprise to see his best friend. He left the other Raimon members to chat with the other Earth Eleven members, while he quickly ran up to the dark brown-haired boy, hoping he would solve all his questions.
"Shindou!"
"Kirino?"
"What happened back there, Shindou? There was a crash and-" Shindou interrupted his friend. He gave a confident smile to him in reassurance. It did not seem to placate the worry over Kirino's face.
"Don't worry, Kirino. The Earth Eleven are a strong bunch after all."
"No, no it's not, Shindou-senpai! A young girl just whipped half of our team to shreds!" Tsurugi called out on his senior's obliviousness in panic. "I'm gone for half of the tournament, and even I know that she was very different before I left!"
"Tsurugi, are you alright?" Tenma asked the blue-haired boy in concern.
"Yes...I'm fine..." At that moment Shinsuke came back to Tenma's side, so did the rest of the Raimon players who stood in a group in front of them around Kirino.
"You are afraid of her, aren't you Tsurugi?" Shinsuke chuckled into his hands.
"N-no I'm not!"
"It'll be alright, Tsurugi! Everything will work out somehow!" Tsurugi blinked. He turned his head to the brown-haired captain and stared into those light blue eyes, searching for doubts. He only found assurance. That calmed Tsurugi, just like all the other times Tenma said that sentence.
"Yeah...You're right." Tsurugi closed his eyes as he nodded, heart lifted from anguish.
"Tsurugi! Tenma! Shindou! Shinsuke!" Sangoku called the four Raimon Earth Eleven players.
"Welcome back!" The Raimon Eleven shouted. Tenma's smile shifted to a grin. He yelled back,
"It's great to be back!"
Just then, everyone heard a gasp. They turned to the sound and spotted Hikaru standing at the bottom of the platform to Galaxy Nauts, mouth and eyes wide open in shock. Meanwhile, Kuroiwa stood at the top of the platform, looking down at Hikaru. It was clear who had gasped.
"Uncl-Uhm...Coach Kuroiwa, I-"
"Hikaru." The voice of Kuroiwa made Hikaru stun for a few seconds. It did make Hikaru's nervousness disparate away.
"Y-yes?!"
"Come with me."
"Ah, yes!" The purple-haired boy followed Kuroiwa along a pathway away from the others. It seemed Kuroiwa wanted the two of them to go somewhere else to talk. The rest of the players looked at each other, wondering what they should do next.
----------------------------------------
The Raimon members were all hiding in the bushes watching and listening to the scene in front of them. It was a large crowd, but they were somehow able to squeeze themselves in and still have mild space to move about. The Earth Eleven players had to leave earlier as some had to visit the doctor for their injuries, while the others wanted to see their friends and families after the long journey away from home. Kuroiwa and Hikaru were sitting on a bench along the Odaiba bay area. Their position facing inwards instead of the waters behind them. The sun on the clear blue sky gave the audience a clearer view of their facial expressions (mostly Hikaru's), and they could see how fidgeting Hikaru was. It was clear he was still nervous due to the overwhelming presence of his uncle. His uncle, on the other hand, kept his silence. His form painfully straight, yet not causing discomfort for the older man. A pregnant silence floated between them.
"Hey is this ok? Will Kageyama be ok? Ah-wait..." Kurumada stopped himself as he pondered his question.
"Which Kageyama are you referring to?" Amagi questioned.
"T-the younger one..." Kurumada replied. Hikaru’s voice broke the silence and quickly gained everyone's attention.
"Uhm...Un-Coach Kuroiwa..."
"You can call me by my old name, Hikaru. The world knows who I am now." Hikaru gasped and quickly turned his body to face him.
"Y-you’re Kageyama Reiji! Are you really my uncle?!”
"Yes. That's correct."
"Y-you really are-...I was right..." Hikaru sighed in relief. "I-it's nice to finally meet you, Uncle Reiji!"
"It's nice to meet you too, Hikaru, my nephew." There was a pause as Reiji gathered his thoughts. "But it's best you don't associate that name with me for too long. Kageyama Reiji has died 10 years ago," Hikaru's eyes turned sorrowful upon hearing his uncle's words.
"I-I can't call you Uncle Reiji?" Kageyama Reiji tilted his head forward, downcasted.
"I'm not sure. I was supposed to have died but was illegally injected with a serum that kept me alive. Now that I have outed myself to the Soccer Association to fight the Grand Celesta Galaxy Tournament, it's only a matter of time before I'm taken back to jail." Hikaru and the others in the bushes widened their eyes in shock.
"T-that can't be..." Shinsuke said dejectedly.
"After what he has done for Earth, it wasn't enough to unwind all the bad deeds he's done in the past," Kirino spoke.
"Hikaru..." Tenma murmured dejectedly. Hikaru eyed his fingers, unsure of what to do. He finally got to meet his supposedly deceased uncle, only to find out he was going to not see him again for another few years. Maybe even forever! Suddenly, a recall of Tenma's familiar words flashed through his mind. It gave him some positive confidence.
"It's ok! Everything will work out somehow!" Reiji and the other Raimon players focused their attention on Hikaru who exclaimed that sentence. They were surprised to see a cheerful expression on his face. The orange of the evening sky emphasised the emotion on Hikaru's face, providing a sense of warmth that everything will be alright. "Hehe, that's what Tenma would've said!" The purple-haired boy smiled widely. The Raimon players relaxed their shoulders, pleased with Hikaru's answer. Meanwhile, Reiji was still in shock at his nephew's positivity despite the gloomy future that was to entail. "It's fine by me if I call you Uncle Reiji or Uncle Ryuusei, you're still my uncle! Ah! T-that is if you're alright with that. Hehe... Are you ok with me calling you my uncle?" Reiji nodded. His lips lifted to a smile.
"You may call me any way you want, Hikaru." Hikaru had a bright smile on his face upon hearing that.
"Uncle Reiji!" Reiji's lips also widened slightly upon hearing his nephew calling him by his family title.
“Yes, Hikaru.”
"Gak! Does he not realise that he's making coach's situation worse if he keeps calling him by his original name?!" Kariya clutched his hands on the sides of his head in disbelief.
"Kariya, calm down! You're too loud!" Shinsuke whispered.
"But Shinsuke-kun..."
There were a few moments of comfortable silence before Reiji shifted from his crossed arms to placing his hands on his lap. There was an uncomfortable topic he wanted to discuss.
"How's your mother?"
"M-my mother?" Reiji gave a slight nod. Not too sure if he was wandering into uncharted territories by mentioning his sister.
"My sister, is she doing well?"
"Ah...yes she's doing well, Uncle Reiji! She admired yours and grandfather's soccer! Even if there were some illegal mistakes made, you have made up for them! We both watched Italy's match with Inazuma Japan, and I can tell she's very proud of you!" Reiji instantly let go of his breath he was subconsciously holding.
"I see..." Hikaru's face stretched to a wide toothy grin.
"I started loving soccer too! After all the praises my mother said, it made me want to play soccer!"
"You...started playing soccer because of that?"
"Mm mhm!" Hikaru nodded.
"Although I started kicking the ball not too long ago, my teammates say I learn very quickly! My position's a first-year forward! I've helped Raimon in the Holy Road Revolution and protected overpowered children from taking over the future by time-travelling!"
"Oi oi, what is he saying now?!" Kariya was aghast.
"The older Kageyama looks sort of stun doesn't he?" Kirino spoke next.
"Yeah yeah! He looks more rigid and paler than before!" Shinsuke followed.
"You're right. He does look uncomfortable." Aoi mentioned.
"Soccer probably wasn't this complex ten years ago. Else, why would Coach get so stumped?" Tsurugi suggested. The Raimon players nodded to Tsurugi's statement.
"I've joined Raimon because I've heard Raimon helped save your soccer. Maybe by joining them, I could experience the feelings you've had and continue in your place! Even when you weren't around those ten years, I can continue your love for soccer and help make your plays better! I want to learn more about soccer, so I can have lots more to talk about with you!" Even if Hikaru's eyes were black, it had a twinkle of determination that stirred something within Reiji. A long-forgotten feeling he used to have when he was young and admired his father. A feeling that had gotten him to love soccer. That last sentence too brought a lot of memories in the FFI. Particularly, a certain girl during the match with Orpheus. It then surprised Reiji when he saw the radiant boy slump down in dejection. "I know I've said that I wanted to continue on your legacy, but...I was not chosen for the Earth Eleven team..."
"Hikaru..." Tenma was saddened when he heard this. He never knew Hikaru was feeling this way.
"I don't have a Soul. I wasn't strong enough to be in the team that you're coaching. I wasn't able to fight against the universe. I'm...I'm not strong enough to be what you wished to be!" Reiji stayed patiently silent, listening to his nephew's issue.
"Hikaru, I used to think that winning in soccer should be the main thing for playing it, that's what makes soccer fun, that's what makes you strong. I was wrong. Soccer's about training hard, working to surpass others, and most importantly having fun. You've already got that. Why do you need to change?" Hikaru's eyes started to water by his uncle's words. It hit hard in his already vulnerable self-loathing heart. He could feel the love and hope his uncle wanted to instil into Hikaru.
"You have a long way ahead of you, Hikaru." Reiji lifted the hand closest to his nephew and placed it on his head. "But you're doing great. I'm proud of you." A lone tear rolled down Hikaru's red cheeks as his lips quivered. Slowly, those lips shifted to a warm smile.
"YES! I'll do my best! Thank you so much, Uncle Reiji!" The older Kageyama replied with a smile. He was glad he was able to comfort his nephew. He reminded Reiji of Rushe. The girl from Italy he had helped heal her eyes. They both have the same cute and carefree take on the world. He wished he could protect that at all costs. The purple-haired first-year rubbed the remaining tears with his sleeves. "Uncle Reiji, would you like to have dinner with us?" Hikaru asked, noticing the orange of the evening sky had turned dark blue. "My mother's making her special curry tonight! I've heard it's a family recipe!" Reiji gave a saddened smile.
"I would love to, but I have some things to report back to the Soccer Association. Maybe after that, I could join you all."
"Will anything happen to you, Uncle Reiji?" The addressed man paused in mild surprise, not expecting the young boy's intuition. He shook his head.
"I don't know. I was only told to inform the outcomes of Earth Eleven's matches. I don't know what will happen to me after that."
"I see..." Hikaru's eyes drifted to his lap. Another moment of silence overcome them before Hikaru lifted himself from the bench. "This will be the last time I'll see you in a while, right?" He looked at his uncle, hoping to drive the image of him into his mind. "I hope we can meet each other again, in the future!" Hikaru smiled brightly. Reiji nodded.
"We shall see. Like a certain someone's catchphrase, 'It'll work out somehow', no?"
"Yes!" Hikaru's laughter permeated the surrounding quietness. Meanwhile, the Raimon Eleven members were still in the bushes, watching the heartfelt scene that had happened moments ago.
"Isn't it great for Hikaru, being able to meet and have a conversation with his uncle?" Tenma questioned his team.
"Yeah, I'm happy for him!" Amagi yelled with his arms raised. It was miraculous that it did not attract the two Kageyamas' attention.
"We're all happy for him, Amagi..." Kurumada told his friend.
"We should head back. It's quite late already." Shindou said, looking up at the night sky.
"You're right. The two of them have talked it out. Our job is done." Kirino stood up. The rest followed his action.
"Alright. Let's go home, everyone!" The Raimon players walked away as a group, leaving their teammate and his uncle still at the bench making up for the lost time. Their future may be bleak, but Tenma could tell they would be alright.
----------------------------------------
I’ve always thought Kageyama Reiji had a sister. It’s never mentioned, but from the way he treated Rushe seems similar to Gouenji and Kidou with their sisters. He also acts like he’s very familiar with handing a younger girl. Hence, why I’m leaning more towards younger sister. As for how Hikaru got his mother’s surname, it seems there is a thing in Japan for a child to take on their mothers’ surname. It was explained by Ishido-Shuuji, but I could not find their tumblr now so you may find out more here. Cause Endou got his surname from Daisuke who is his maternal-grandfather, we could assume this is a thing.
Thank you guys so much for reading this long fic! Bless you guys! I hope you’ve enjoyed it! <3

Farewell’s time
Fandom: Inazuma Eleven (GO)
Pairing: Kariya x Kirino
Characters: Kariya Masaki, Kirino Ranmaru
Summary: In the midst of all the junior's tears, on this graduation ceremony day, it seems that someone is missing; which doesn't escape Kirino.
Tears ; the pain of the heart, of the soul. Deep affliction, undisguised sorrow, intimate pain that flows on all these cheeks, like those salty pearls. This distressing spectacle could have seemed unusual, singular, yet it was not so; every year, on the same date, it used to take place. Every year, on this last day of school and graduation ceremony, teachers could witness the same moving farewells, the same touching embraces, the same teary faces.
The third-grade students were parading on the stage to get their certificates, while, as mere spectators, the younger ones simply watched the scene, most of them with burning furrows on their cheeks. And among them, Tenma was probably the one who hid his sorrow the least, to such an extent that when the ceremony ended, as soon as they arrived in the club's changing rooms, he jumped on all his senpai's neck, his face deformed by tears.
"Shindou-senpai!" he sobbed, not wanting to let go of his senpai, who did not stop a smile on his lips.
"What will we become, without you!" added a tearful Shinsuke by his side, clinging to Shindou's leg, while Hikaru cried silently.
The complaints mingled in the room, and it didn't take long to bring tears from almost all the elders, from Hamano to Kurama, through Shindou. Only Kirino, his eyes however moistened by emotion, had not yet let the slightest furrow come to decorate his cheeks. His curious and confused gaze had first wandered over the entirety of the people in the room, before starting to constantly watch the door, as if someone was about to join them.
"Kirino?" Shindou called, to his side, probably the only one who knew him well enough to be able to see the disappointment that was drawing his features. "What's going on?"
"Shindou. Nothing important, don't worry, it's just that I thought he-"
"Say! Why wouldn't we have one last match, all together?!" asked Tenma aloud, cutting Kirino in his sentence without even realizing it.
The enthusiasm that flowed from this proposal was such that the defender finally preferred to leave his words in suspense, while the outline of a smile took place on his lips. Maybe Kariya was going to join them because of the call of football, after all.
Their uniform on, they joined the field. With the club's growing popularity, there were enough of them to make two teams, while the tears had been replaced by sparkling smiles. But once again, only Kirino remained disturbed, and his azure irises roamed the horizon absently.
"Tenma," he started, also catching the attention of some of their comrades around them. "Do you know if Kariya will join us?"
"Um...," the captain thought. "I doubt it, he said he was going home."
"Ah?" Kirino frowned. "He didn't even say goodbye…"
"He did, he came after graduation," replied a thoughtful Hamano who had followed the conversation. "You didn't see him?"
Kirino's face, which had tingled a little with annoyance, at the idea that his friend going home when it was their last day to see each other, relaxed a little under the effect of surprise. If he had well seen him, sitting next to Hikaru, before going up on the stage to get his certificate, he had not had the slightest opportunity to cross his path after that.
"No...," he murmured, lost in his thoughts.
"It's weird, yet he came to say goodbye to us one by one…"
Kariya had taken the trouble to greet all of them except him, before quietly returning home. No matter what the concerned faces of his comrades were, in front of him, no matter what order of words they were trying to put together, to be a little tactful; the facts were there. Wasn't he even worth it enough to make him stay five more minutes to see him too, after all they had been through together?
This simple thought alone stirred the defender's anger, who didn't wait a second longer to run towards the school's exit.
"Play without me!" he threw behind his back to his perplexed teammates, without waiting for an answer.
His feet crashed on the ground with rapidity, and each sound that reached his ears would exceed him even more. If he'd hurry, he could probably catch up with him soon. And he better do so, because he had to admit that, although they had done a part of their way back to school together more than once, he had no idea where he lived...
Curious faces turned in his direction as he ran through the entrance doors of the establishment, without him paying attention. A quick glance at the green traffic light and he had already crossed the road, to follow the river. In the distance, that so familiar blue hair that he had searched everywhere finally became visible in his field of vision, and Kirino felt a strange knot of apprehension forming in his belly.
"Kariya!" he called, so loudly that the few people around them all turned towards them.
Kariya immediately stopped his slow walk, his eyes wide open. For a second, the possibility that this voice was only an illusion, a bad prank of his conscience, crossed his mind, so much so that he hesitated before turning around. However, when he did, Kirino was standing in front of him, a few metres away. His frowned eyebrows and accusatory look made him swallow, realizing that the possibilities of subjects were limited.
"You already left ?" he asked. "What about the others?"
"And what about you?"
Kariya frowned. He had certainly not expected such animosity through these four miserable words. However, the reproach was there, he felt it fly in the air, slip on his skin, browse these beautiful blue eyes that faced him.
"I wasn't feeling very good, so I thought I'd better go home," he lied, before turning, ready to go back on his way.
"Was that a reason to say goodbye to everyone... except me?"
Maybe Kariya's heart had just missed a beat, in front of the unspoken pain that these words had brought. And maybe he'd never admit it. As if to drive the nail in, and unaware of the boy's face, which was getting more and more tense, while he could only see his back, Kirino continued:
"It was probably our last day all together, and I thought our relationship was worth enough for you to take time to…"
However, his sentence had no end, and the words simply died in the air. Fugitive, ephemeral, a reflection of the sadness that probably prevailed in his midst. And it did not escape Kariya, whose fist clenched by reflex, before the atmosphere of the moment took over these feelings that he was trying to repress:
"You don't understand...," he murmured, before letting the silence fly between them for infinite seconds. "Celebrating a departure, two paths that separate and may never meet again... This is a farewell, isn't it?"
Kirino's face, which had in turn suffered anger, misunderstanding and then sadness, now took on astonishment, a completely visible mask of surprise, before his features receded.
"You didn't want to say goodbye to me because... you didn't want our paths to separate?" he risks, not totally sure of his interpretation.
Silence answered him, and a sweet smile appeared his lips. Kirino was about to take a step forward, when Kariya's voice rose again in the air:
"What will I do, if you're not here?"
The words slammed in the air, to come and violently strike the soul of the older one. He hadn't seen this coming.
"If you're not here to scold me in the morning when I'm late? If you're not here to yell at me when I shoot others in their back without them noticing? If you're no longer here, to just be with me? If..."
His hands, clutched to the hip of his bag as if it could determine his survival, were trembling, as did his voice, which broke even more with each word that crossed the wall of his lips. He sniffed loudly, and Kirino didn't need much more to understand that he was holding back from crying. And yet, unable to break the invisible bonds that prevented him from taking the slightest step, the graduated teen remained motionless.
"If you're no longer here to help me study the program you understand better than I do, when you did it a year ago?" Kariya continued, articulating more and more slowly. "If you're no longer here to defend the goal with me..."
It was too much. Tears were now running down his tense face, which he tried to hide as best he could, keeping his back to his Kirino's. His cheeks, reddened by the tears that came to trace their hot furrows to die in his neck or on the corner of his lips, were burning him. Despite all his efforts not to let it show through, Kariya could not ignore his own shaky shoulders, the few sniffles that escaped him despite himself; so much so that when Kirino's hand landed on his shoulder, he stepped forward to free himself. There was no way he could be seen like this.
"Kariya...," the older one whispered in a soft voice, as his face had completely calmed down. "You know, just because we're not in middle school together anymore doesn't mean we'll never see each other again."
Silence welcomed his words, yet Kirino only had to look at his friend's hands, which slowly fell down his body, to understand that they had hit the mark.
"We can always meet outside, after school or on weekends," he continued. "I'll have to come and see all of you sometimes. Who's gonna scold you after that, otherwise?"
Yet another sniff, much louder – and classless – came to answer him. However, the younger one did not move a single millimetre, as if he was waiting for a follow-up to these words. But sometimes, words simply couldn't match all the emotions that were too difficult to express.
It was in this state of mind that Kirino broke the short distance that separated them from a simple stride, before wrapping his arms around him. A soft, warm embrace, which carried in its bosom this wave of feelings that he could not manage to externalize.
Kariya was crying. The simple idea that they were about to separate was enough to distort his face, to flood it with all those tears that did not deserve the slightest contact with those delicate cheeks that he guessed red. How else could he have answered that, after all?
The youngest's eyes widened when this body simply touched his back. His mouth opened and closed several times, a sign of the indecision of his words as well as his astonishment, and it was thus Kirino who took the floor first:
"I could still help you study, if you need it. My schedule may be a little busier, but I should be able to fit you somewhere in it," he explained with a smile on his face.
"But..."
"Goodbye does not necessarily mean farewell, Kariya," the older cut him off. "We often say goodbye in the evening, and then say hello the next day. And, a year goes by quickly, we'll also be able to protect the goal together again, after that.
Without thinking for a second about the situation nor his tears that he had tried to hide, Kariya emerged from the embrace in which he was caught to turn around. Kirino had a soft, soothing face like he had never seen before, and that was enough to make him understand that he had not just imagined the implication behind these words: he said that on purpose.
"Protecting the goal together next year means... in the same high school?"
Still with this warm look of him and a simple nod of the head, Kirino approved.
"The school where senpai goes is not far from where I live," Kariya thinks, as if he had already forgotten the events of the few minutes before. That would be the main reason," he added, turning his head with that proud look he wore every time he felt embarrassed.
Kirino let escape a sight laugh, but didn't add any comment. He used to be able to read in Kariya, although he had difficulty being honest with his feelings. But after what had just happened, he certainly wasn't likely to believe in that high school near his home excuse.
"Come, we're going to join the others. Would be a shame if I missed this last match with all the junior!"
"Ah? I remind you that I was coming home before you came in like a fury!"
"Yes, yes," the pink haired boy replied the boy, placing the tip of his finger on the reddened cheek of the youngest, which started to ignite at this simple contact.
Seeing the amused smile on his senpai's face – before he turned around –, Kariya uffed out his cheeks. Why on earth would his body have to react in spite of himself and blush on his own?
"I guess I'll also get bored and miss you, this year," Kirino whispered in a barely audible voice, looking up at the azure vastness of the sky.
"What did you say, senpai?"
"Nothing. Come on, let's join the others!"
Without waiting for the slightest answer, the slightest grumbling, Kirino grabbed his teammate's wrist and dragged him into his race. He also may have feared this separation for long, too; but if Kariya was as reluctant as he was to cut this bond between them, he probably had no reason to worry about the future.

Kariya likes to scroll down his phone and write all his opinions in his phone's memos. He sometimes lets out his anger on the notes and locks the app
Kageyama likes to call his friends and talk with them. He enjoys having conversations with people and always finds some jokes to tell and make others laugh. He even does funny poses and expressions and laughs at himself
Aoyama talks to himself and answers questions he had in his mind. He would just put a toy and talk to it, sometimes even hugging it.
Ichino rides а kick scooter. His dad bought it for him and it still endures even after so many years. He enjoys it so much and likes doing a few circles around the neighborhood. He dislikes going to the bigger parts of the city, so he fidgets around his and the adjacent neighborhood
Hope you like it.

This is the writing anon from earlier (sorry for overstuffing your ask box). How do you balance introspection scenes with external action scenes? Any tips for integrating them? Especially since my character’s perspective is influenced by her bipolar moods and vivid imagination. How do you write introspection without stagnating the plot?
Hello anon!
Don’t worry, I enjoyed your asks and I am happy you shared your ideas with me! Sorry for the wait, I will try to answer as best as I can.
When it comes to mixing action-scenes with more introspective scenes I think much depends from the style you are adopting and also from the POV you are using.
In some books, it is given much space to introspection to the point that even reading of everyday and mundane things becomes interesting because they are filtered by the character’s point of view. This is similar to what happens in the following short:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9v5-Xtp8RZc
The techniques used may be different from the ones used in books because the media is different, but the point I am trying to highlight is that in the short the protagonist is actually trying to do a very mundane thing. She is simply trying to leave work early on in order to have her hair cut. However, the way her actions are framed convey the feeling she is in danger and she is doing something incredibly dangerous. Basically, the short conveys the emotions of the character and how she feels and in this way such a simple thing as having a hair-cut ends up changing in a spy-story.
At the same time, there are other stories in which the characters’ interiority is completely conveyed through their actions. They show their feelings by acting in a certain way. Of course in this case dialogues with other characters can help convey what they think and how they feel, but you never properly enter the character’s head how you would in a stream of consciousness. This last approach is often used in movies since the media uses visuals to convey meaning instead of only words.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AZS5cgybKcI
For example, in this short the two characters’ emotions are conveyed only through visuals and through their actions, not even their words because they are both animals. Of course, one of the advantages of animations and movies is that the visuals can convey something in a much clearer way than with words. If someone were to write a short story about the kitty and the pit-bull they may need to use more words and to enter in the head of the kitty. In this case, the scene where he is in his box with the plushie is perfect to explore a little the kitty interiority. It doesn’t need to be long, but we can have a scene where the kitty thinks how much he loves this crampled box and how much he feels safe with the plushie to the point he doesn’t need anyone else. His reflections can very well be interrupted by the arrival of the dog which moves the plot.
Of course between the two extremes where everything is conveyed through a filtered stream of consciousness and everything is conveyed through a character’s actions there are many middle solutions where “show don’t tell” and stream-of-consciousness-like introspection are combined.
I would also highlight that sometimes you can use visuals to convey introspection as well. For example, in Psycho Pass Akane’s evolution is conveyed through a very long scene where she basically remembers important interactions she has had with other characters (her two friends, Kagari, Makishima). In all those interactions she had been questioned about herself and who she was and what she truly thought of the world. At the time she was made these questions she had no idea what to answer, but in her own mind she reaches the answers and so she answers her interlocutors. In this way we are basically shown an interior evolution of the character thanks to visuals and dialogues.
Apart from the specific example, one can convey a person’s interiority through flashbacks and dreams as well.
Generally speaking, I think that a good way to approach the balance between introspection and action may be to think structurally. Many stories can be divided in three major parts aka the beginning, the central part and the finale. The beginning must present the situation, hook the reader and explain the character’s objective. The beginning of a story often presents an equilibrium which changes after an accident, being it an external factor or the character’s own actions. The central part is the part where the conflict keeps growing until the climax is reached and after the climax there is a finale which is slower and presents a new equilibrium aka how things have changed after the main conflict.
Intuitively, it is common that many of the action scenes will be concentrated in the central parts, while the beginning and the conclusion might be slower and with more introspection to get to know the character and to tie things together thematically. That said, this doesn’t mean that you have to concentrate all the introspection at the beginning and at the end and all the action in the middle. After all, in the middle part the character has to change either internally or they have to change their approach to the problem in order to solve it. For example, a detective may have an introspective scene just before solving the mystery, so he can realize he has been going at things in a completely wrong way up until that moment. In this case, he doesn’t really change as a person, but his method to face the murder changes and this leads to the solution. The same can happen for a character who realizes they need to change as a person. For example, a selfish character might have an introspective scene where they realize their actions are damaging their loved ones and this will lead to their final change which will be conveyed through the final conflict and the final choice they make. For example, the selfish character, after having their realization, will choose to sacrifice themselves for their loved ones by confessing a crime they made and their loved one has been accused of. In this case the introspective scene is right before the resolutive scene of the plot.
What is important of the three part structure is that it can be used not only to divide a story into three parts, but also to divide a scene in three parts. As a matter of fact ideally a scene should be a conflictual unit meaning that it must have its own conflict which is introduced, reaches a climax and is solved in a way which makes the story progress and which links the scene to the one which comes after.
Let’s make an example using your OC and her intention of triggering her grandmother to see her reaction. I will be quoting from one of your other asks:
Similarly, she wonders the same about her grandmother, who hurt my OC’s father during a breakdown. My OC purposely triggers her grandmother to see if the latter would revert to violence.
As you said your OC at one point chooses to trigger her grandmother to see if she will answer with violence or not. Now, let’s focus on the scene she does it. I imagine she will have her reasons to make such an attempt. For example, let’s say in the scene before she has fought an opponent who taunted her and told her she will always be violent because of her mental illness and that recovery is impossible. Because of this, the scene might open with the character thinking back about this confrontation. The opponent reminded her of her own worst fears and so she wants to see if their words are true or not. Now, she might have to go to her grandmother’s house for a reason or another (she goes there weekly, she needs to borrow a book for plot reasons etc.) and she is thinking while she walks there. When she meets her grandmother she might feel anger even if she herself might not realize why (the readers would understand that it is because the grandmother reminds her of herself) and she decides to trigger her even if she had not planned it beforehand. Hence her manipulating her grandmother and her grandmother’s reaction. The interaction might solve in different ways. She could leave her granmother’s house both scared and angry or she might stay until the grandmother calms down and they can have a heartfelt discussion. As you can see these two different endings give different spins to the story and push it in different directions. In the first ending the character might be shocked of having her worst fears confimred and might spiral for a bit, while in the second case her dialogue with her grandmother might help her overcome her opponent’s words in the long run.
What I wanted to show is that in a single scene you managed to convey the character’s interiority and her feelings and to make the plot progress.
Let’s now briefly focus on the POV you are using.
For example, are you using a first person POV or a third person POV? A first person can be difficult to handle especially when the POV of your character is original and not objective in some instances. That said, the fact what your character says might not represent the truth could be used to create interesting effects. For example, Georgy Porgy is a short story by Roald Dahl which is told by a vicar’s point of view. The things narrated by the vicar becomes stranger and stranger until he says that he has been eaten by a woman. However, later details like a man in a white coat coming to visit him in the woman’s stomach make people understand he is in a psychiatric hospital. Another example is given by a novel by Natsuo Kirino where the story is told through letters and a manuscript. Thanks to this, the readers have a specific story told by the book written by a character and letters written by other characters which contradict and criticize the book. Because of this, in the end the reader is not sure about who is telling the truth and who is lying.
Generally speaking, a third person can be easier to handle because you can decide how much to focus it, so that it can perfectly overlap with your POV character, but also offer some kind of commentary to some of the character’s more contradictive actions. At the same time, a third person can make the use of more lyrical and poetic images justified, while it can be difficult to make them believable with a first person.
Another thing to consider is how many POV you are using.
A single POV can let you avoid too much fragmentation of the story and of the subplots, but of course it makes so that the readers’ knowledge is limited to the character’s perspective. This can actually help in the construction of interesting twists which are revealed to the character and to the reader at the same time.
More POVs can let the readers know more characters at the same time and they can in this way acquire more information, but the story might be slowed down by this and it can become confusing.
I think that it is better to have a limited number of POV characters and to choose them according to the plot. For example, if in the end the main POV character gets to know everything the reader needs to know you might just have one POV, while if the POV won’t discover everything and you need the reader to realize this and to know more you may have more POV characters or also change the POV just at the end to show that things did not end like the character thought.
All in all, the choice of more POV characters might also be about the themes of the story like in Baccano! where the fact of having a huge cast and not a proper MC is used to convey the themes about life and narrative the series explores.
Finally I think that when choosing a POV character one should consider that two different effects can be obtained according to the attributes of the character.
Either the character has very average attributes or the character has very specific and strange attributes.
In the first case, the POV will be as close as objective as it is, but the character will lose in characterization.
In the second case, the POV might not be much objective and a part of the story’s charm will be to convey the point of view of the character which is not common. In this case, the POV of the character might twist events, but also the perception of other characters and so it might be difficult to describe in an objective way characters as complex and as peculiar as the one of your POV character.
A solution might very well be to differentiate between POV character and main character. In this case the POV will tell the story of the MC (for example this is the idea behind Sherlock Holmes and Watson). The MC will be the character living the most important conflict and driving the story, while the POV will be the person through whom we will experience the story and will have a more passive role.
For example, in both Psycho Pass and Madoka respectively Akane and Madoka have for the first part of the series the role of POV characters. They are more passive than other characters and they know less about the worldbuilding than other characters. Because of this, they are the characters things are explained to and in this way things are explained to the readers as well. In Akane and Madoka’s case, their role of POV characters is handled very well imo because they both have an important development at the end of their respective series to the point that they take important parts of the plot in their own hands after having been passive for the majority of the story. Basically they do not remain passive until the end and they are given a proper arc.
I would also like to highlight how not being given the POV of a character since the beginning, but discovering that character little by little as the POV’s character gets to know them more and more doesn’t necessarily make the character less interesting or sympathetic, but can actually be very satisfying. For example, this is exactly what happens with Homura in Madoka since we discover more and more about her as the story progresses and we are shown different aspects of her character.
These are my thoughts on your question and I hope they were useful. I will answer to your other asks soon. Hopefully either tomorrow or on Tuesday.
Thank you for the ask!

Hiiii Yara!!!!
I have changed accounts bc I forgot my password, but I was Flan-Girl304! I have been commenting in ur fics for years now lol, except in the last couple of updates, bc, yk, lost my password.
Anyways, I was rereading Accidental Reverse, as one does, and now I really want to know your opinion on the relationship between Sengoku and Tenma, because I love the idea of Sengoku being so protective and caring of the rest of the team and noticing Tenmas problems/struggles early on.
He really is like a pilar of peace between all the chaos of raimon, isn't he? (Most of the time)
Also, completely unrelated, but I just realized how long it has been since Accidental Reverse started, I was still in school. Now I'm on my last year in pyschology. And now knowing the struggles of university, I absolutely understand ur updating schedule, I haven't updated my own fics in ageeeees. But I'm still hyped for whatever you decide to post in the future!
Anyways, hope you're doing well!!!
WHOAAA I CAN’T BELIEVE IT, it’s been so long!!! Hi!!! How have you been??
I'm good, just super tired! University's been pretty demanding and I ended up pulling an all-nighter last night to almost completely finish my thesis, so I am going to bed very very soon.
‘’rereading, as one does’’ you know it’s almost 300K, right
Aww Sangoku, yes we love him. He’s great. He’s the best, hands down. He’s the voice of reason, the eye of the storm; he fades into the background when compared to other members on the team, both in terms of personality and appearance (...pink hair, anyone?)
I headcanon that Sangoku is the eldest on the team and that makes him feel responsible for his teammates. We know from the anime he’s already a very caring and responsible person, as shown by his interactions with his mother; she works late often, so he is in charge of groceries and cooking and other chores. He was canonically captain before Shindou and never really got rid of some habits from that time.
Which means that, just like Shindou, Sangoku understands Tenma's struggles as captain and tries to support him as much as possible; he did the same thing when Shindou was made captain after him, although of course the specifics are different because Tenma and Shindou are different. Sangoku doesn't really interfere with the leadership part; he's not one of the loudest voices on the team, and he doesn't want to be. He can leave the decision making to Shindou, Kirino, Tenma, Tsurugi, all the more outspoken members, all more qualified and talented than him - that’s what he thinks.
Instead he tries to help in more subtle ways: by caring.
(This doesn’t just apply to Tenma, of course. Sangoku keeps an eye on the whole team - literally and figuratively. He’s the keeper, he’s always in the back, always in position to keep watch over his teammates during a match, and that doesn’t end when the match does.)
He keeps an eye on Tenma whenever he can. Does he look tired? Upset? Ill? If Sangoku notices this, depending on the severity, there's a few different things he might do. If it's not that bad, he'll usually cue in the other first-years and let them drag Tenma along to hang out and unwind for a bit. The quickest way to get Tenma to forget about his worries for a bit is to let him spend time with his yearmates and act his age. They're a chaotic bunch and there's no room for worry or stress there.
If it's worse, Sangoku might interfere more directly. If it's more of an internal problem in the team, Sangoku can and will tell the others to lay off (Shindou means well, but sometimes he gets carried away). The rest of the team listens to him, and this is a rare enough event that the few times he's had to do it, it's been very effective.
If it's an external problem, Sangoku can't honestly do much. In those cases the whole team is stressed and trying to support each other, and as much as he wishes he could, Sangoku can't just go up to their opponents and tell them to knock it off. Instead, he'll ensure (by teaming up with the managers) that there's enough snacks and drinks present for everyone, and try to keep them all calm and rational.
Sometimes, when Tenma is being especially stubborn, Sangoku will outright scold him and tell him to go home, go to bed, take a break. Tenma definitely doesn't like this, but he respects Sangoku too much to deny him.
It's even happened a few times that someone else on the team cued in Sangoku. They know Tenma will listen to him, even when he's being stubborn, and they're not afraid to misuse it.
And always Sangoku is just ready with a listening ear, an offer to help, little check-ins, even when nothing bad is happening and Tenma is just busy or mildly stressed.
Like I said, Sangoku does this with most of the team, but he's more aware of Tenma. This, again, stems from having been captain himself. Early on, when Tenma became captain, Sangoku worried and tried to make sure the kid was doing alright, and that just stuck. Even years later after Tenma has proven himself more than capable, it's an old instinct that Sangoku can't get rid of.
And Tenma doesn’t really… know? Sure, after being captain for so long, he knows the dynamics of his team. How Sangoku is the voice of reason - no, rather, how he’s the calm inside the storm, the one who worries quietly and cares for them all and has taken the responsibility to watch over them through their craziest adventures and laziest days. He knows, by logical reasoning and several late night instances where Sangoku was the one to check up on him and tell him to get some rest, that Sangoku does it for him too and he appreciates that more than he could ever say. He just doesn’t notice that Sangoku is a little more keyed into his well being specifically - probably the only one who does is Shindou, and that’s because Shindou is the exact same way, for the exact same reason (they both agreed to make yet another first-year captain, when they know the burden of it; they refuse to let him drown under the pressure).
So Tenma hasn’t noticed, is not as close with Sangoku as some of their other teammates, and Sangoku honestly doesn’t mind. Truth be told, after so much time he barely notices it himself, it’s just become a habit.
Their relationship is interesting because they don't really hang out outside of the team - sure, if the team will go out together, they'll both join if they can, but they don't usually meet up with just the two of them. They’re both closer with other people on the team. Their relationship originated as simply senpai and kouhai - Sangoku feeling a sense of responsibility towards a younger teammate, Tenma looking up and listening to an older teammate. And yet it’s grown so much from what it was. Tenma knows Sangoku's door is always open and he can always count him. Sangoku respects Tenma as his captain, and cares for him as a friend rather than a kouhai.
Funnily enough, they’ve got a bit of a similar opinion on taking care of the rest of the team. Perhaps Tenma has been unconsciously imitating Sangoku’s behavior in the way he cares for them, and even handles them when they’re acting rash. It actually makes Sangoku his biggest ally in getting the team to behave! As we see in Accidental Reverse, Tenma is fully capable of being the craziest on the team, but in his actual timeline where he's captain, he's usually the semi-responsible one, if you'll believe it (in his defense, if something happens, he's the one who has to deal with the paperwork). And Sangoku is most often the voice of reason on the team, so he will fully support Tenma when they're trying to get the team to NOT do anything stupid for once.
So yeah. In summary, this is a relationship that was at the start nothing more than regular senpai and kouhai, and funnily enough never changed much in their roles - but the sentiment behind it? That has become much more genuine. Sangoku doesn’t look out for Tenma and feel responsible because that’s what is expected of him, but because it’s Tenma. And Tenma doesn’t respect and listen to Sangoku because he’s older, but because Sangoku has time and time proven that there are few people Tenma truly appreciates and admires more.
So! I hope you enjoyed that. Oh, don’t mention how long I’ve been working on AR, I know exactly how you feel. I uploaded the preview for it on my sixteenth birthday. In less than three weeks I’ll be celebrating my twenty-third.
I am still planning to continue though, I just need to deal with stubborn characters who don’t want to be written, tss.
It was really great hearing from you again!

Helloo, @lioncubstudies I’m your substitute santa for @langblrsecretsanta
You said you like Japanese and literature so I made a rec list of the top 10 Japanese books I’d recommend to everyone (though it’s entirely based on my own personal taste). One of the books is a manga but we studied it in the university in Japan and it’s worth a read. (+ you also said you like music recs so feel free to check out this Japanese music rec list I made for my other giftee in December!)

As I Crossed a Bridge of Dreams (aka Sarashina Nikki) by Lady Sarashina
“Night after night I lie awake, listening to the rustle of the bamboo leaves, and a strange sadness fills my heart.”
Born in A.D. 1008 at the height of the Heian period, Lady Sarashina (as she is known) probably wrote most of her work towards the end of her life, long after the events described. Thwarted and saddened by the real world with all its deaths and partings and frustrations, Lady Sarashina protected herself by a barrier of fantasy and so escaped from harsh reality into a rosier more congenial realm. She presents her vision of the world in beautiful prose, the sentences flowing along smoothly so that we feel we are watching a magnificent scroll being slowly unrolled.
Genres: historical, classics, autobiographical
Forbidden Colors by Mishima Yukio
“Beauty is something that burns the hand when you touch it.”
An aging, embittered novelist sets out to avenge himself on the women who have betrayed him. He finds the perfect instrument in Yuichi, a young man whose beauty makes him irresistible to women but who is just discovering his attraction to other men. As Yuichi's mentor presses him into a loveless marriage and a series of equally loveless philanderings, his protégé enters the gay underworld of postwar Japan. In that hidden society of parks and tearooms, prostitutes and aristocratic blackmailers, Yuichi is as defenseless as any of the women he preys on.
Genres: lgbt, fiction
Confessions of a Mask by Mishima Yukio
“True pain can only come gradually. It is exactly like tuberculosis in that the disease has already progressed to a critical stage before the patient becomes aware of its symptoms.”
This autobiographical novel, regarded as Mishima's finest book, is the haunting story of a Japanese boy's development towards homosexuality during and after the Second World War.
Genres: lgbt, fiction, autobiographical
Out by Natsuo Kirino
“You know," she murmured, "we're all heading straight to hell." "Yes," said Masako, giving her a bleak look. "It's like riding downhill with no brakes." "You mean, there's no way to stop?" "No, you stop all right - when you crash.”
A young mother who works a night shift making boxed lunches brutally strangles her deadbeat husband and then seeks the help of her co-workers to dispose of the body and cover up her crime. The ringleader of this cover-up, Masako Katori, emerges as the emotional heart of Out and as one of the shrewdest, most clear-eyed creations in recent fiction. Masako's own search for a way out of the straitjacket of a dead-end life leads her, too, to take drastic action.
Genres: horror, crime, mystery
Coin Locker Babies by Murakami Ryu
“Every one of a hundred thousand cities around the world had its own special sunset and it was worth going there, just once, if only to see the sun go down.”
Abandoned at birth in adjacent train station lockers, two troubled boys spend their youth in an orphanage and with foster parents on a semi-deserted island before finally setting off for the city to find and destroy the women who first rejected them. Both are drawn to an area of freaks and hustlers called Toxitown. One becomes a bisexual rock singer, star of this exotic demimonde, while the other, a pole vaulter, seeks his revenge in the company of his girlfriend, Anemone, a model who has converted her condominium into a tropical swamp for her pet crocodile.
Genres: contemporary, horror
Kitchen (+Moonlight Shadow) by Banana Yoshimoto
“In the uncertain ebb and flow of time and emotions much of one's life history is etched in the senses.”
Mikage, the heroine of Kitchen, is an orphan raised by her grandmother, who has passed away. Grieving, she is taken in by her friend Yoichi and his mother (who was once his father), Eriko. As the three of them form an improvised family that soon weathers its own tragic losses, Yoshimoto spins a lovely, evocative tale that recalls early Marguerite Duras. Kitchen and its companion story, "Moonlight Shadow," are elegant tales whose seeming simplicity is the ruse of a writer whose voice echoes in the mind and the soul.
Genre: contemporary, short stories
Blue Bamboo by Osamu Dazai
“Any connoisseur knows you've got to be drunk to really enjoy a good romance.”
Stories that combine fantasy and romance with Osamu Dazai's own psychological concerns reveal the optimistic, humorous and idealistic side of a writer too often typecast as dark, pessimistic and self-absorbed.
Genre: short stories
To Terra by Takemiya Keiko
“The future. Having driven Terra to the brink of environmental collapse, humanity decides to reform itself by ushering in the age of Superior Domination (S.D.), a system of social control in which children are no longer the offspring of parents but progeny of a universal computer. The new social order, however, results in an unexpected byproduct: the Mu, a mutant race with extrasensory powers who are forced into exile by The System.”
Genre: scifi, manga
Kappa by Akutagawa Ryûnosuke
“A Swiftian satire of Japanese society thinly disguised as the fictitious Kappaland. Peopled with creatures from Japanese folklore, Kappland serves as a vehicle for the humorous examination of the moral foibles of Japanese society in the early 20th century.“
Genre: fantasy, classics, satire
Hell Screen by Akutagawa Ryûnosuke
“Chained inside the carriage is a sinful woman. When we set the carriage afire, her flesh will be roasted, her bones will be charred: she will die an agonizing death. Never again will you have such a perfect model for the screen. Do not fail to watch as her snow-white flesh erupts in flames. See and remember her long black hair dancing in a whirl of sparks!”
One of the towering figures of modern Japanese writing, Akutagawa's early career was distinguished by imaginative, beautifully crafted stories of medieval Japan, rich with period detail. These two stories include his great masterpiece of that period, 'Hell Screen', and the parable of a thread-thin chance of escape for a sinner in the Pool of Blood.
Genre: short stories, horror
+a few more recs from Mishima Yukio and Murakami Ryu because I’ve read them the most:

Patriotism
Popular Hits of the Showa Era

Good Enough [Part 3] Desire [Madara Uchiha]
Thank you everyone for the support on this story, urging me to get back to work on it. Sorry about the lack of smut in this chapter; gives you something to look forward to.
The next morning Kururi rushed to the main house and urged the caretaker to wake Madara. He was already up, but far too busy to speak with her. She was grateful for this and left the blank note in the capable hands of his retainer while she waited impatiently by the front door for her to return.
Not sure how long Hashirama bought her, Kururi was relieved to see that Madara made this duty an urgency and signed the note. She expected a rude comment, passed between him to her regarding her negligence, however, she was given none. The young retainer passed the scroll back to her, wished her a good morning, and let her be on her way. Kururi, taken by surprise, returned to her main house to get properly dressed, then headed over to the tower.
By noon time, the elders had come to an agreement. Kururi was standing in a crowd at the base of the tower when they announced it. She was relieved to hear that Madara was permitted to run. The two founders stood together, looking out over the village and its people. She was for once in tears, watching them stand as equals. It took a while, but now peace was more than just a thought, dreamed up by three orphaned children. Kururi wiped her damp eyes and slunk back into the crowd.
She had every intention of returning home, but a bitter, dark chakra suddenly covered her, bringing this notion to a standstill. Kururi knew that it could only be one of two people and refrained from visibly shivering as said person moved to stand by her side. She never quite understood why, but the Uchiha had such hostile chakra; it felt like hands of ice taking ahold of her.
"Izuna … please. Try and hold back a little." If she was uncomfortable, she was sure the villagers with little to no chakra control were too.
He did as requested and easily concealed his signature. "My apologies. I forget sometimes."
"It's alright; sometimes I do too. Habit is hard to break when you've been taught something completely different all your life," she explained softly.
Izuna knew just what she was implying. Even so, it was hard for him pull off, since he was an Uchiha. He felt like the people of the village were isolating his clan. Flaunting his power was just a means of protecting himself; survival of the fittest. She had to realize what he was aiming to do, right? Maybe not, seeing as though she just chastised him.
A frown marred his face, but he chose not to say anything. Instead, he glanced up at Madara, as if his brother might be able to support him with this issue. How would he handle it? An alternate route opened up to him.
"If I may ask … why are you not with the council? I assumed you'd be up there."
Kururi felt her face heat up. She knew that he was attempting to rile her up; obviously he knew why. "Neither of them need my support. I've done all I can."
She was being honest; Izuna could hear it in her voice. What she didn't realize was how wrong she was. The fact that Kururi was so unsure about her role made him feel like she was insignificant. However, his brother thought otherwise. Izuna couldn't wrap his mind around it. Why did Madara like her so much?
"I believe this is the first time I've seen you with your hair down," Izuna mentioned, baiting her. She didn't look so much like an adolescent like this.
Kururi puckered her brow. "Yes … well you took my hair sticks yesterday, so I had nothing to use."
He nearly smirked at this. She was too easy. "Madara offered me an opportunity and I took it, but if you wish, I can return to you the inheritances I took. They are at the compound."
She did want them back, however she wasn't sure about going alone with Izuna. Thinking back to what she promised Hashirama, she decided to agree, only if he accepted her proposal.
"I'd like my sister to accompany us. She is rather fond of the Uchiha. I believe she may like someone in your clan."
It mattered not to Izuna, but he agreed in any case. A mock smile lifted his lips. "That's ironic, considering that you too like an Uchiha. You stare at my brother with a fondness beyond friendship. Some would think it's a weakness."
"Who do you watch with such eyes?"
Izuna puckered his brow. He wasn't sure there was someone he actually liked. Not that he was incapable of love; he just wasn't interested in it right now.
"That doesn't matter, Kururi." It really didn't, not while his mind was engaged with something else. But maybe after this. "Come on. Lets get your sister, and I will accompany you both."
Like he suggested, Izuna lead the two back to his clan's main house. He bade Kirino to rest in the back yard as he took Kururi to the work room his brother often resided in. Leaving her a moment, he moved around to the back of Madara's desk and retrieved her hair sticks.
She used the time to look around Madara's work space, intrigued by the naturalness of it. He kept the walls mostly bare, with the exception of a few weapons Kururi was sure he still had use for. She could see nothing that really stood out to her; nothing that yelled tyrant like she had expected.
"This is alarming," she uttered.
Izuna was taken back. "You imagined something different?"
"Less principles," she admitted. "But, I'm not going to cry about it. At his core, Madara is still human." Her fingers traced softly over the clan's crest.
"In a sense, you're right. He is human … but sometimes his actions share no compassion. It's for the sake of our people that he be made a devil in the eyes of others," Izuna explained, while moving closer to her.
He offered back her hair sticks and forlornly added, "At least that's how he wanted it to be. A certain woman has stolen his thoughts, and even I dare think his intensions for the clan have changed."
"I don't think that at all when I look at what all he's done," Kururi rebutted. "He does everything he can for his people. Some may see it as cruelty – his actions – but he's just doing what's best for his clan."
Izuna gave her a gentle smile, "How noble of you, to speak of my brother in such a way." Maybe he was wrong to assume so little of her. Even so, he needed to be sure. Words could only assure him for so long.
"Can I ask you of something?"
Kururi nodded in agreement. "You may ask me whatever you like, Izuna."
"Are you certain that you believe Madara can become the leader of this new village? You spoke up for him against the council. But do you actually believe that he has a shot?"
"Hashirama does … but I do not. I was honest when I said that times have changed, but for Madara, they have not." She never wanted to give him false hope; it was cruel of Hashirama to ask this of her. Dread filled her as she thought it over. "I just want the best for him … I'm sorry."
Izuna was strangely pleased by her answer. "I assumed as much." He already knew that Hashirama thought highly of Madara; this was no surprise to him. "Thank you for everything you've done for him; Madara deserves this. Still, am I wrong to assume a small part of the reason you agreed was because of love?"
"I … I don't know how to answer that."
"A simple yes or no," Izuna said blatantly. He was uneasy with the fact that she couldn't yet give an honest answer.
Sink or swim? Every possible route was circling around to this. She wasn't certain, because she assumed her feelings for Madara were nothing more than desire.
Kururi placed her fingers over her heart; it wasn't beating out of her chest in any cliché way. She feared her belief was true. "I don't think what I feel for your brother is love, and this hold I have over him isn't either."
"Since when did you think you were intitled to speak for him?"
She cringed at this. Honestly, it made her a little angry. He too had no right; he was a hypocrite for scolding her. "This conversation is over. We obviously can't fathom his feelings, so we don't need to argue over it."
Izuna agreed, despite his conflicting thoughts. He felt that if anyone knew his brother – truly – it was him. Madara would never lie to him, and he surely wouldn't have come to him in the first place if he felt like he could handle the situation. Izuna wanted so bad to spoil their scheme, but he honestly felt like his brother should do it.
"Speak with him," he implored. "You won't listen to reason, so at least ask him yourself. That's all I'll say about it."
Kururi curled her hands into a fist. She was so tired of this roundabout; it made her sick. All she wanted to do was forget about the whole ordeal, but nearly everyone she spoke to was filling her head with false information. Even so, she knew what Izuna had said was the truth.
She needed to speak to Madara in person.
"Convey to him that I'd like to meet. Tonight will be fine," she uttered in defeat.
Izuna gently smiled, "Leave it to me."
Kururi so wanted this to be over. She just hoped her desire for Madara wouldn't blindside her to the truth.

Hakuryuu x Tsurugi [IE Go]
I had promised this One-shot to @xxlovelyrose95xx!! Here it is!! As Lina told me, I’ll tag all those who ship HakuKyou: @producktions @aishiikamii @zibiremu!! Hope you guys like it!!!
White Day {Hakuryuu x Tsurugi}
The month of love quietly rolled by and, finally, it was that fateful day. It was the day Hakuryuu was born, or as most people know it, it was the White Day!
It wasn’t like he had planned anything special but still, he was eagerly looking forward to it for exactly a month. No, not for his birthday but for the other occasion.
On the Valentine’s, he had put all of his heart and soul into making chocolates for his singular ‘rival’ (that’s what he likes to call him, but who gives choco to their ‘rivals’). God knows how, but he had nearly blasted off the kitchen and the smell of cocoa was so thick that you could eat the air! He would have blasted off the whole house if it wasn’t for Fudou, who, finally, taught him how to make chocolates without destroying the world!!
But today was different. He was on the receiving end. It took all of his might to remain calm and suppress his excitement. To his great distress, everyone already knew. Moreover, Yukimura had already teased the hell out of him!
“I wonder when’ll Tsurugi come”, the dark-haired boy mused out loud while dribbling past his captain.
“How would I know? As if I CARE and why the hell will HE come here, anyway!!”, Hakuryuu yelled at him, red in the face.
“Tsurugi sure is taking his time”, it was Yamato this time.
“SO WHAT!!? I don’t care”, he yelled again, roaring into the practice field.
The whole team giggled at their tsundere captain. From time to time, Fudou would take the initiative to make the dragon turn scarlet.
“Oh! Tsurugi? What brings you here?, he called out, loud enough for the white-head to hear. Hakuryuu would glance eagerly in the direction only to find that he was tricked again.
“I wonder how you remain cool in front of him, when you are THIS mad over Tsurugi”, said Minamisawa with a slight chuckle, only to earn a scoff himself.
“I AM NOT MAD OVER HIM!!!!!!”
********
Just like that, practice ended in a series of teasing and yelling. The white dragon sighed to himself as he checked his mobile phone. No missed calls or messages from the lone wolf!
He would not come. It’s not like he likes me or anything. He never said so! Why was I thinking of the possibility anyway!!
He clicked his tongue in disappointment as he put his phone back in his pocket. The more one expects, the more it hurts!
“Go take a walk, Hakuryuu”, he turned his head slightly to see it was Fudou, patting his head. He thought of declining, but agreed anyway. He wanted to spend some time alone!
*******
The sun sank down the horizon as the platinum-haired boy trudged the roads, aimlessly. Somehow, he found himself right in front of Raimon. Without thinking, he wandered inside and spied over the dark-haired boy he called his rival.
******
Raimon’s practice ended early that day for which, Tsurugi was happy since he could spend more time with his brother. He packed up quickly to leave when he spotted a familiar white figure hiding behind a tree.
What’s he doing here? He acted as if he didn’t see him.
“Tsurugi”, he turned around to meet Tenma’s gaze, who was brimming with excitement.
“What is it?”, he asked, non-chalantly.
“Wanna come to my place? We’re having a party since Kariya got White Day Chocolates from Kirino-senpai!!!”, Tenma announced happily, while Kariya became a blushing mess trying to hush Tenma.
White Day… WHITE DAY!!!!! Tsurugi’s eyes widened in realisation. God!!! How can I forget? I have nothing to give him and he’s right here!!! He’s tottaly mad!!! Wait- Why do I care so much about this? Does that mean, I –
Tsurugi’s thoughts swirled as he excused himself out from Tenma’s invitation. Turning around, he walked up to the white dragon!
*******
“Hakuryuu!”, the white-head froze dead in his track, slightly panicked at having being spotted. He turned to stare in Tsurugi’s golden eyes.
“Oh! Hello there, Tsurugi”, he felt like slapping himself. What am I saying? So stiff!! Tsurugi raised his eyebrow but decided to call it off. He knew he was mad!
“Happy birthday!”
“Birthday…?”, he said slowly. So, that’s why coach kicked me out for a walk. But…
“You didn’t remember?”, Tsurugi smiled, amused at him, and trying to escape the other topic.
“Thanks”, came the feeble reply as he turned around to walk off. His birthday didn’t matter to him! But, he wasn’t feeling good enough to retaliate him.
Tsurugi knew he had choice now. He can’t see him like that! “And Happy White Day too!”, he voiced out after taking a deep breath, silently.
“Don’t just say it to make me happy!”, Hakuryuu stated calmly, masking his sudden anger impulse.
“That’s not it!”
“Then why are so late!? If you don’t like me… just say so… and I won’t bother myself with making you chocolates next year!!”, there was an edge to his tone and Tsurugi could feel it. But, he can’t just admit that he forgot!!
“I love you, Hakuryuu”, Tsurugi grabbed his milky wrists and pulled him closer, “ And, anyway, why do I need only one day to confess my love? That should be every day.”
“That doesn’t mean you are off the hook for not getting me any gift”, Hakuryuu could hardly function, normally, by now. He tried to free himself from the wolf’s claws but his grip was too powerful. He could his body warming up, both by how sudden the confession was and by how close they were!
“Would a kiss be fine, for now?”, without waiting for the white-head to process his words, Tsurugi leaned in and connected their lips together. Hakuryuu would be making chocolates again next year, much to Fudou’s distress.
****Bonus..*****
After the heated kiss, both of them walked over to Fudou’s home where Hakuryuu’s birthday party was organised. While on their way, Hakuryuu managed to calm down. He wouldn’t want the whole team to know about their little moment!
“So, that lame excuse you used earlier…, you heard it from Fudou-san, right?”, Hakuryuu pointed out.
“I don’t know what you mean!”, Tsurugi looked away, abashed.
“OH!! Don’t mess with me! I heard him saying the same thing to Kidou-san, when he forgot his Valentine Chocolates!!!”, Hakuryuu raised his voice a bit.
“I’ll buy you a gift later, so, don’t be such an angry little baby!”, Tsurugi shot back.
“I don’t need any of your gifts!”, Hakuryuu looked away, pouting.
“I’ll give you a special time, free with the gift!! Just the two of us!!”, Tsurugi whispered in his ear, his voice husky.
Hakuryuu pushed him off, red in the face, as he knocked on Fudou’s door.
Tell me if the characters are getting ooc! (It's been a long since I watched the Go season sooo, please forgive me!!) Anyway, tell me if there’ s something wrong, I’ll fix that!!!( and I won’t make the same mistake again!)
