status: open when & where: joint bday party, after midnight
Tumblr media
it’s the third time kepler sent a text to g, something along the lines of ‘fuck you’. the person who coincidentally checks their phone at the same time, for the third time, would shoot up on their suspect list. not a fool proof method, considering everyone is glued to their phones, but they had to start somewhere and they felt less uncomfortable taking polaroids of someone who had a high chance of being g. the camera is pointed in their direction. but the second he takes the photo, someone steps right into the middle of it. the shutter goes off. the camera whirrs and the photo slides out at the top. “ you fucking idiot, ” he grumbles, in a noticeably more sour mood than usual.

1. Phong Nha-Kẻ Bàng National Park, Vietnam
Though not as famous as Halong Bay, Phong Nha-Kẻ Bàng National Park is a UNESCO World Heritage Site that deserves much more attention. Located in the Quang Binh province, this park is home to some of the most impressive caves in the world, including the Son Doong Cave, the largest cave on earth. However, what makes this place truly special is its untouched beauty. The lush forests, dramatic limestone karsts, and crystal-clear rivers provide the perfect backdrop for an adventurous and peaceful retreat.
Tumblr media
Here, you can explore Hang En Cave, Paradise Cave, and Dark Cave, each offering a unique experience. Whether you enjoy hiking, caving, or just soaking in the natural beauty, Phong Nha-Kẻ Bàng is a haven for nature lovers and adventure seekers alike.
2. Ba Na Hills, Vietnam
Just a short drive from Da Nang, Ba Na Hills is home to the Golden Bridge, which has become an iconic tourist attraction. However, the region has more to offer beyond the bridge. The Ba Na Hills cable car, which holds the world record for the longest non-stop cable car at 5,800 meters, takes visitors up to the top, where they can enjoy panoramic views of the surrounding mountains and lush valleys.
Tumblr media
For those seeking a hidden retreat, there are several quiet spots within Ba Na Hills to explore. From peaceful gardens and pagodas to lesser-known trails, you can escape the crowds and enjoy a serene experience in the cool mountain air. Visit the Linh Ung Pagoda and its giant Buddha statue, or take a peaceful walk around the Debay Wine Cellar, a historical French-style cellar tucked away in the hills.
3. Ninh Binh, Vietnam
Often referred to as “Ha Long Bay on land,” Ninh Binh is a region in northern Vietnam that offers stunning landscapes, ancient temples, and caves, all without the heavy tourist crowds. The Tam Coc river cruise is one of the most beautiful and peaceful experiences in Vietnam. The boat rides through emerald waters, surrounded by towering limestone mountains and lush rice paddies, are an unforgettable sight.
Tumblr media
In addition to Tam Coc, explore the Trang An Scenic Landscape Complex, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, or visit the Bich Dong Pagoda, nestled on the side of a mountain. For a bit of adventure, hike up to the Mua Cave for panoramic views of the entire region. Ninh Binh offers the perfect balance of serenity and exploration, making it a must-visit for those seeking hidden gems.
4. Kratie, Cambodia
Kratie is a small town in northeastern Cambodia, known for its peaceful atmosphere and the famous Irrawaddy dolphins that inhabit the Mekong River. Unlike the more popular cities in Cambodia, Kratie remains relatively undeveloped, giving visitors a chance to experience the authentic charm of rural Cambodia.
Tumblr media
Take a boat trip on the Mekong River to spot the endangered dolphins, or explore the local countryside by bicycle. You can also visit the Wat Roka Kandal, a quiet temple with beautiful views of the river, or head to Phnom Sombok, a hilltop offering sweeping views of the surrounding countryside. Kratie is perfect for those looking for a peaceful escape from the hustle and bustle of Cambodia's more tourist-heavy spots.
5. Kep, Cambodia
While Sihanoukville is known for its beach resorts, Kep is a quieter, less crowded coastal destination. Situated on Cambodia’s southern coast, Kep is famous for its peaceful beaches, fresh seafood (particularly crab), and the nearby Kep National Park, which offers scenic hikes and stunning views of the coastline.
Tumblr media
Visit the Kep Crab Market, where you can enjoy fresh seafood while overlooking the ocean. For nature lovers, the Kep National Park offers trails that lead to viewpoints with breathtaking views of the coastline and islands. A boat trip to the nearby Rabbit Island (Koh Tonsay) is also a must-do activity, offering a secluded beach experience far from the crowds.
6. Koh Ker, Cambodia
Koh Ker is an ancient temple complex located in northern Cambodia, once the capital of the Khmer Empire in the 10th century. Unlike the more famous Angkor Wat, Koh Ker remains largely undiscovered by mass tourism, making it an excellent place to explore without the crowds.
Tumblr media
The main attraction here is the Prasat Thom, a towering pyramid-shaped temple that rises dramatically from the jungle. Visitors can climb the steep steps to the top for a stunning view of the surrounding forest. The entire site is surrounded by lush jungle, providing a unique, off-the-beaten-path experience for those interested in ancient history and archaeology.
7. Con Dao Islands, Vietnam
The Con Dao Islands are a hidden paradise in southern Vietnam, offering pristine beaches, crystal-clear waters, and a rich history. Once a prison island under French colonial rule, Con Dao is now a serene destination that attracts travelers seeking both relaxation and adventure.
Tumblr media
The islands offer a range of outdoor activities, including snorkeling, diving, and hiking. Visit the Con Dao National Park for a chance to explore the island’s natural beauty or relax on Dam Trau Beach, one of the most beautiful and quiet beaches in Vietnam. For history buffs, the Con Dao Museum and the old prison ruins provide a glimpse into the islands’ past.
