😴 My muse wakes up in the middle of the night to find your muse injured in their living room ( from Smoker )
❣︎ | Memes :: From Here | Injuries Old and New
Tumblr media
In his defense, he'd been polite enough to kick off his boots at the door despite the state of things - never mind the trail of bloody footprints he left behind.
While the actual breaking and entering part of this was silent and damage-free, done with a practised hand under a blanket of quiet, he could still be tracked from the door to the living room where he was now, detouring briefly into the bathroom as he'd scrounged for medical supplies. This wasn't his house and definitely wasn't where he was supposed to go when an undercover mission took an unfavourable turn - a hospital perhaps, given the bullet wound - yet here he was. Hospital was too risky with his cover blown right ? It was difficult to think, to trust that any decision he made was the right one, but in that moment of panic when he'd bolted the only place he'd wanted to go was someplace familiar and safe. There was more to that thought about safe places and people, but he pushed them away for the moment in favour of solving the blood loss problem. Really he was an inconvenience here, bothering a sleeping friend. The more quietly he could deal with this on his own the better.
He felt it when his stamina ran out and his Calm broke, like a sharp blow to the sternum but from the inside somehow. The unnatural, all-encompassing silence of the house in the early morning hours was broken by a soft, partially stifled sob as he shimmied clothes out of the way enough to reach the bullet wound just above his hip. Part of him was more than a little afraid to look and find out just what sort of damage was done. It certainly hurt, and try as he might he couldn't get his hands to stop shaking - instruments slipped in his bloody fingers, unsteady. A cold ripple of panic clawed its way up his back as he tried and failed to steady himself. Rocinante cursed under his breath and smeared the blood from his hands onto his already stained shirt, so caught up with attempting to manage his compounding mistakes that he didn't notice Smoker until he was already in the room, looking thoroughly startled from sleep.
" Hi . . . "
This wasn't the first time he'd let himself in at all hours, not even the first time with an injury, but the taller man's was uncharacteristically small and shaken - uncertain, unraveled. Reflexively, he bunched up a towel he'd been using to apply pressure and hid the offending wound behind it; not that he could, with blood and supplies already everywhere.
" S-sorry. I uh . . . was trying not to wake you. "

🎉 Thank You for 10k+ Followers!! 🎉
Tumblr media Tumblr media
A big thank you goes out to @cozymochi for this beautiful celebratory commissioned artwork for this major milestone ✨ It really captures the scope of all the content that had been put out in the last 4+ years—both in terms of official Twst materials and on this blog! I think it’s very fitting that we hit this milestone in the month of Halloween too (I just held off on posting this til the month after); it’s Twst’s biggest holiday of the year, so it’s twice the cause for celebration!!
A lot has happened over the course of my time in this fandom. I’ve written many things of course, but I’ve also had many other exciting opportunities! I’ve been interviewed for a paper, met many cool people from all over the world, attended Twst meetups + events, collaborated with other talented creators, received kind gifts, contributed to various fandom projects, and finished telling the origins of my Twst OC. This blog has been with me through a lot of major changes and difficult hurdles in my life too—it’s really been an anchor for me, a comforting and safe space for me to be creative or analytical whenever I want to be.
When I first started this blog as a very casual hobby in summer of 2020, I never even considered that it would balloon to this extent. It still doesn’t feel totally real to me 😭 I don’t usually fixate on numbers (they make me anxious), but looking back on it, 10k is a LOT, and 4 years is a long time. To put that in perspective, if we were in Twisted Wonderland for 4 years then all of the students we’ve come to know and love would have graduated by now. That’s crazy to me. We’ve come so far as a group.
I feel that a large part of fandom is the community that comes with it. I would have found it so challenging to stick with Twst had I not had so many great people keeping me engaged with it. I’d now like to take a moment to thank those folks. Keeping in line with the idea of “4 years”, think of these as little messages scrawled in a yearbook. I also have a blog event planned to celebrate! More on that later.
Please note that I’ve used pseudonyms for most of the following people, as I’d like to respect their privacy (I’m very private myself) + not all of them are comfortable with being explicitly named or tagged to a large crowd. You’ll know who you are if you see yourself on here.
Without further ado:
MSS — Thank you for being the first Twst space I felt truly a part of. It’s still the place I consider my fandom “home” beyond this blog.
April — Thank you for making MSS as a place for us to share! We’re tsunderes in solidarity.
Drinking Knight — The banners wouldn’t exist without your help. Thanks for getting the ball rolling on those; I’d like to think that I’m a little more confident in designing new ones myself now, but you were the start of it all. Your endless enthusiasm for the most insane otome boys, drinks, and bullying (positive) others is truly an inspiration.
Q. Opinionated — Can’t count the number of times you ran tech support for me 💀 Thanks so much for being patient and willing to laugh at a stupid situation. I WILL grip you (escape is not an option) 🤲
Dad with his Printer — Why are you so cheeky My unofficial proofreader and fact checker. Still treasure the teeny J word and coffin magnets you sent, and, even more valuable than those, the bad dad jokes/puns advice and wisdom you give. Wishing you luck on your art adventure.
A. Cider — An unexpected friend I met very late into the fandom and happened to run into irl by total coincidence. Funny how life works. Your shitposts are great, and I appreciate having a like-minded person to talk with about the J words and story critiques. I’d also like to thank you for the many little doodles you’ve made; I know you’re very busy and have a wife to tend to at home but I appreciate that you still make time for friends.
Hana — Extroverted pink-haired magical girl representation. Your bubbly love for Disney, Diasomnia, singing, and (yes) angst lights up the entire room. Maybe you’re not too confident with yourself are right now, but I know you’ll find your way.
Swan — For being quick on the uptake and giving me the heads up about various things! We may not talk much one-on-one, but I’m thinking of you and enjoy seeing you pitch into the conversation. You’re still banned for L*ona posting though/j
Ly — My secret French twin/j Thanks for being my cultural + equine advisor and a voice of (salty) reason. Never shut up about your hyperfixations! You’re a real one.
Oys — Enabler + encourager of my Yan!Sil delusions. Sorry for making your blood pressure spike every time we talk about our food takes. But hey, at least we get a good laugh out of it :))
Mac and Bean — For being my inspirations. Bean, you have such atmospheric writing. I hope my writing style can be just as magical as yours. Mac, it was your blog that first got me into starting my own Twst writing. You never stop being so, so funny also I blame you 120% for the L*ona rot.
Peaches and Cream — To my local Twst friends, thanks for keeping me company even through the hard times. Peaches, happy to be your local Twst dealer anytime. Cream, thanks for hooking me up with new books.
Salt and Flora — I don’t know where you vanished to, but the sea brought you back to me on its tides. I’m so happy we could meet again. Salt, you’re so talented at crochet and design work; get your coin 😂 Flora, you’re the sweetest person ever. Literally cottagecore personified, even in your art.
Piano — We don’t always see eye to eye, but thank you for being my serial debater and showing me new perspectives. Your open-minded theories and analyses are such fun. And, of course, it’s always hilarious to think about how we accidentally (?) swapped oshis 🤡 You’re a star.
The Anklebiter — For having the most unhinged jokes and ideas. Seriously, THE most unhinged. I never do any of the crazy things you suggest but I’m always really entertained from just hearing them.
Te, Mi, and Ro — Thanks for organizing local events and giving me an excuse to touch grass. It’s a lot of hard work and you guys manage to pull it off every time! Mi, I was flattered to have you reach out to me to help a little with the Tweel cupsleeve event. Happy to help anytime! Te, I remember you were cosplaying as Kalim when we first met and I kept thinking about how perfectly suited you are for the role. You were very friendly and made such an effort to include everyone in the event even when I was Idia-ing in the corner. To this day, you continue to spontaneously introduce me to new people 😂 Thanks for getting me put of my comfort zone. Ro, I didn’t think we’d meet again like this. Small world! You’re learning and improving the big events. Here’s hoping to many more!
Vic — For being Ace Trappola when very few others would. It’s refreshing to have someone tell it like it is. I wish I could be as bold and as honest as you are sometimes. You have such a big heart when it comes to the characters you love; it makes me want to adore them like you do too 🫶
Kana — For being so sweet and patient. You helped me through so many rough patches and have also contributed a lot to the look of the blog. It’s so fun gushing with you about magical girls and pretty boys, sharing our favorite shows and movies… I feel as though I’ve made a lifelong friend.
Zari — Thank you for charms and art book, big fan of your stuff 😭 So honored to have worked with you on projects too. I hope to see a lot more of your Yuu and other OCs around, I love following them ^^
Lala — You understand, encourage, and validate my weird tastes in fictional men 💕 Really admire your sense of fashion and stylish nails too. Whenever I have my shrimp apron on, I think of you.
Arisu — No longer in the Twst fandom but integral in the earliest days. Wherever you are now, I wish you nothing but happiness.
P-san — You’re a lifesaver!! Thank you so much for helping me find cute little outfits and accessories for my plushies… They are forever grateful to be properly clothed.
V, Fa, Fe, Ray, Rea, Sonny, Glimmer Group, and Incognito Crew — Thanks for being so supportive of my hyperfixation on Disney villain anime boys, even if you guys have NO clue what I’m rambling about half of the time. To V specifically 🫵 I am NOT a cat boy kisser
Mango — I didn’t know I wanted you in my life until you showed up uninvited one day and chewed your way into my heart.
Azul Ashengrotto — For being the character that first convinced me into giving this game a shot. The Little Mermaid was something I always held so dear to me, so it almost seems like destiny that you’d be the one to drag me down into Twst. You’ll always hold a special place in my heart for that, even if my feelings have changed since then.
Rook Hunt — For being there when I needed to laugh a little. It’s scary to glance over my shoulder sometimes, but you make it easier to smile as I look back.
Rollo Flamme — For letting me know that having negative feelings is normal and human, even if we don’t always cope with them in the healthiest of ways. Let’s reflect and be better together!
Leona Kingscholar — For showing me that change and personal growth is, in fact, possible. Th-This doesn’t mean I like you or anything though, so get off your high horse—
Jade Leech — For taking my hand and guiding me back on the path when I got lost in the dark. Whatever crimes you may commit in your free time, I forgive you/j
Miss Raven Crowley — The little black bird who could, the blog muse. I made you on a whim and look at where you are now… You went from a background character to the main character of your own story. So proud of you, my child 😭
Asset compilers, fan artists, fanfic writers, fan translators, cosplayers, merch makers, editors, plushie pic takers, video essayists, theorizers, etc. — You’re all so important to keeping the fandom alive, especially during periods of official content drought. It wouldn’t be feasible for me to list out all of the content creators I enjoy (chjsbsksks and it honestly might be awkward since I haven’t directly interacted with most of them), but I hope that this message still reaches you and finds you well. Keep doing your thing; I love seeing the work you put out ^^
Anyone and everyone that I’ve ever commissioned and/or received fan works from — I appreciate that you took time and energy out of your day to create something for me. There’s so much talent in the Twst fandom and I’m honored that you would dedicate some of that to a silly little birb.
You, the Readers — For supporting this blog and and what I do here! You’re an important part of my journey too.
Thank you!! Here’s to a future unknown and a page unwritten.

arcane actor au
in light of recent events, i have decided to take matters into my own hands and create the desperately needed actor au! this is my first time writing so please don’t be mean or not i will cry :)
Tumblr media
Silco and Vander are actually renowned actors (think Liam Neeson, George Clooney, Leonardo Dicaprio, etc). When it was announced that they would be in Arcane, some fans were wary since they weren’t known for fantasy/ sci-fi roles. They had both wrapped up working on some heavy projects that were putting a lot of stress on their lives, so they decided to step outside their comfort zone and try another genre!
Silco and Vander are actually married irl! Their children appeared on the show as young Claggor, young Vi, and older Claggor.
Vander instantly became a father figure to Jinx and Violet the moment he read with them.
Jinx actually is British! It’s shocking to see the change between her character and her because she truly is a more introverted person irl! She also already had freakishly long hair so her braids weren’t so hard to do.
Vi was actually just a pretty normal person who had never acted in her life. She just kinda showed up and instantly charmed the directors. They just liked her vibe and knew she’d be amazing.
Ekko has an Australian accent! Jinx and Vi were so surprised when they heard him speak out of character.
Mel is a classically trained actress! (I’m talking went to Juilliard type of trained). She has been in a lot of big movies and has worked with Silco before. Well on her way to become a household name! (Has won multiple Emmys before!)
Viktor and Mel are old college friends! They both went to the same university both seemingly lost touch until they were casted to the show did they reconnect! (they just drifted apart i swear don’t take it in any other way!)
Viktor is a Czech-American actor! His parents were both Czech actors before they started to break into American media!
He was also a child star for a brief period of time before he had to take some time off after an injury. Viktor was in a car crash that caused damage to the muscles on his knee and hip causing him to walk with a limp.
Jayce didn’t really have interest in becoming an actor until his friend in college took him to an improv class and got him into theater. (P.S this man has an amazing singing voice!) This is when he realized it was a passion and he dropped out to pursue acting!
Caitlyn was in some small roles in British shows (think Downtown Abbey or Doctor Who). She really broke out when she played in a period piece and really got her name out!
Cait’s younger sister plays her child actor! They look so much alike that the directors didn’t even hesitate to cast her!
Tumblr media
did i go a bit crazy? maybe but i had to get it out there! i hope you enjoy! lmk what you think!

Could u draw togachko cuddles,,,for comfort perhaps,,,
haiiii im so sorry i saw this req and the art was gonna be normal togachako at first but i started thinking of this au midway through.. hope you enjoy tho!!! :3
Tumblr media
togachako cuddling in a no powers verse and toga's wearing an uraraka sweater because mha exists in that world except everything is spelled off and like minor color differences so it's not like "wow uraraka we're literally togachako!!" and it's 100% true.
Tumblr media
this is them. to me
togachako headcanons for this au below. im just gonna call it meta au
toga is a representation of those "cringe" people that get made fun of on tiktok with thinly veiled homophobia and ableism. she struggles with hygeine and takes a lot of comfort in fiction, surrounding her life in it. she's the type of person to run a blog like this
uraraka is mha critical, irl she's a sweety pie and online she kinda lets loose and gets to be a bit of an ass about the things she likes. she hated the ending of mha and has a secret side blog for her togachako posting
they go to the same high school and have an enemy to lovers type of thing. at first uraraka makes the same assumption many ppl make about kids that act like her. that she's strange for attention, that she's some sort of pick me, that she's gross.
as they're forced to work together maybe for a project or club, uraraka finds that she might have been wrong since toga's really accepting and sweet, never attempting to be snide or rude to uraraka like other girls tend to do since this is, yaknow, high school. they start to be friends but uraraka is still a bit confused as to how to characterize toga in her head. is she weird and gross or super nice? because one moment she's being sweet and helping her and the next she's laughing louder than necessary and talking way too much about fandom in public.
they get closer yada yada uraraka helps toga take care of herself more by making hygeine a fun and self care thing rather than something that she dreads and finds boring. toga shows uraraka she can be herself wholy and truly and that people will still love her. i love happy healthy yuri

yet again emerging from the depths to post my last bits of fable art :,)
also throwing in a large sappy paragraph (slight cw for some discussions of family issues):
being a part of fable smp was such a privilege. when i first joined, it was just me and a couple of my irl blorbos deciding it would be a fun quirky idea to start an smp our own, and now it has become something truly impressive and heartfelt.
specifically from my perspective, playing c!momboo meant a lot to me. she’s similar to me in a lot of ways, obviously she is an extension of me, but i think she’s way more than that. c!momboo was based on another story that means a lot to me: Oneshot. if you’re familiar, her character is extremely influenced by not only the plant woman in act 2, but the world itself that communicates with you throughout the game. the idea of the world itself becoming so vulnerable and weak it becomes sentient really struck me, and I knew immediately that’s what I wanted c!momboo to be. what i didn’t expect was how much of a turn her character made early on, when jamie and swipn approached me half joking about her being their mom within lore. i think that’s what really ended up bringing her to life, and what overall became her main driving force: being a mother.
i’m gonna be kinda vulnerable for a second here: i never thought of exploring motherhood in any story i’ve been a part of, even before fable. the idea always scared me, since I don’t have the best relationship with my own mom, and i thought i would end up doing things wrong. but i think that’s kind of the point. there is no guidebook on how to be a good mom, you have to figure that out yourself, along with help from your kids. c!momboo wasn’t a perfect parent, far from it. she made some pretty intense mistakes, especially early on, and i’ll be the first to admit that playing her through those times was rough. there were moments where i felt i was leaning into the exact parent i would never want to be, and it was scary, but eventually c!momboo learned from those mistakes, making an effort to regain her kids’ trust over time.
c!momboo holds a special place in my heart because of all the things i stated, and while her story is over, i think she’ll always somehow end up in things i create. not by name, but her own courage and strength infused into what i do.
before i wrap this up, i want to mention the one story that really stands out to me from the process of working on fable: when the famous haleygar herself and i the night before the server released were scrambling to help sherbert figure out a title (not only that, but knowing this title would end up being the name of a certain major character later on lol) and eventually settling on Fable, not just because it sounded cool, but because that’s what this server was always meant to be: a story. a story filled with heart and soul poured not just from the cast, but from you guys. i think my favorite part of this project was always seeing what you all created, and how you guys ended up influencing us. our stories wouldn’t have been the same without you guys there, whether that be in chat, or even simply lurking. i’m grateful for all of you who were there, and i really hope you enjoyed the story <3
Until next time,
Momboo <3

Sun and moon combo observations!
DISCLAIMER: this is my personal opinion based on my observations and people I know irl. If you don’t agree then you’re entitled to your opinion but don’t come at me xo
Libra sun, Aries moon- Oh man you guys are DYNAMIC especially socially. You run with so many different circles and somehow still manage to remember everyone’s name and balance everything perfectly, You have about a billion hobbies and projects on the go. It’s quite admirable. You have your fingers in all of the pies. Very extroverted and a lot of fun. You can be a bit blunt at times but the Libra sun helps to smooth over the worst of it.
Virgo sun, Libra moon- You guys come off as serious and “put together” but to your friends you’re really just a giggly, smiley ball of energy. You rarely overindulge in things and you probably know your limits fairly well. You’re likely pretty popular and have many different friends because of your playful nature and inherent understanding of social rules. Despite being able to charm anyone though, you probably prefer hanging around with the “weirdos” rather than the popular kids, because after all they are more fun.
Aquarius sun, Capricorn moon- You have a unique but hilarious sense of humour. You’re probably fairly introverted but you’re pretty good at making small talk and being around people if needed. You probably don’t push the boat out far in terms of your fashion choices, preferring to wear black and dark colours, but the pieces you do choose always look very cool nonetheless. You’re interested in some pretty weird or unconventional stuff but you don’t dare show anyone. You’re probably pretty artistic and creative too and have a keen eye. You’re not much one for casual relationships and although you may appear hap-hazardous at times, you’re actually pretty careful.
Capricorn sun, Sagittarius moon- I’ll admit it, you’re pretty funny. You also appreciate other people’s humour even if it’s different to your own. Thing is, you’re not as misunderstood as you think you are. You’re actually pretty easy to read. You have a pretty good balance between being serious and having fun. Compared to other sag moon combos you’re not as much of an escapist but you are fairly conflict avoidant and can be quite difficult to deal with sometimes. Despite this though, you’re such a good laugh and deep down a good person that even if you act out a lot, people will still want to keep you around.
Gemini sun, Leo moon- You’re so unintentionally funny. Sometimes you may come across as annoying. You tend to live in the moment but you know how to be serious when it’s something that really matters to you. You do what you want, when you want to do it. You will talk to anyone about anything but sometimes you can be pretty elusive. You love a good party, a good time, anything to get yourself living in the moment. You can be pretty avoidant though and rarely admit to anyone when things aren’t going so well.
Sagittarius sun, Gemini moon- You’re a bit of a risk taker. You’ve probably ended up in the hospital a few times after doing something dumb. You have a kind of “everywhere all at once” type of vibe to you. Despite being super extroverted you probably, surprisingly, view yourself as quiet and awkward but this is not something that people see about you unless they know you very well.

SAGAU / Isekai Genshin:
You can still use your characters! ... as in possessing them 👻
(all art by me down below, hope its decent lol - did it for u guys and myself i mean what )
Tumblr media
Edit 9/7/23: 1,500+ NOTES??? BRO WHAT!! THABK YOU <3
Edit 12/24/23 + 4/5/24:
My dumbass forgot to put this here .-.
Anywya this is a full length fanfic now ;)
PART 1 (you're here!) / Part 2
So.
You got sucked into a video game.
Crazy, but it happens ¯\_ (ツ)_/¯
yknow how it issss
...you very quickly discover that unfortunately video game rules still apply...
which wouldn't normally be an issue! like, needing to use the bathroom in the middle of a fight? Nope! minor cuts and bruises like papercuts, only actual enemies or fall damage counting? hell yeah that'd be great (theoretically no chronic pains if you got that?? hmmmm unsure)
see the issue comes when you realize, you as a player, don't have a "character" that's all your own
there's aether/lumine yeah.. but bc the game's real now, they're their own people, and you didn't wake up to find yourself as a blonde twin...
the closest you can describe your form as is .. like a seelie?
or like the way ghosts look in game?
but a lot more "starry"
like your specterlike, but you look like you got filled up with stars and the milky way, maybe a reference of you being from another universe/world? (aether/lumine/dainsleif/khaenriah star symbol reference secret thEORY-)
but yah.
you also got just, white eyes.
like, not iris, not pupil. like your pupil and iris got erased
you gotta admit, at least you look really aesthetic now.
(u also got a little cape and hood on at all times, and you cant take it off to see your starrified hair >:/ ,very Blue Diamond-esque, look up Steven Universe, Blue Diamond if you dont know who im talking about)
so needless to say, as soon as you sort of glitched your way into existence you were HYPE
i mean ur ACTUALLY IN TEYVAT WITH THE BOYSSSS
...then you realize your a spooky-no-character-to-pilot-around-thus-no-character-model-body-for-you thingy
and that you cant touch stuff!! >:(
like wth!!!
thats just downright unfair.
so, you figure if you got no body to be.... you gotta find a new "character" to pilot >:)
...
I choose you, yellow fungi!
...
....
you're in the fucking woods (Sumeru somewhere obv, u knew that the moment you opened ur eyes),
what'd you expect?? an archon??
..wait a minute. can you possess an archon-
these kinda thoughts plague your first few days of irl genshin impact playing
a rishabold tiger? yep.
a sumpter beast? kinda slow and heavy feeling but yeah.
...you also try a ruin machine LOL
by far, the fungi and ruin machines are the best to possess, mostly because you can remain upright with those
(tho u did find some type of flying monkey that wasnt in game, but its like,, a real world and jungle now so that makes sense there'd be more complexity + stuff)
you do eventually think you should try and possess a person at this point... but ur kinda nervous 👉👈
its ur first time doin this okay nobody explained the basics to you youve been winging for a week now!
will your mind be replaced with theirs? it hasn't been so far with the creatures/bots
and as far as you can tell, they kinda just-
forget what happened or "wake up" after you possess them
(the tiger you were for a day looked confused as hell when it realized that there was a new pile of fruit next to it when it "woke up", it was your way of saying thank you to the animals of the jungle, u left them little piles of food you collected running around as them)
so THEORHETICALLY-
you should be good to go and possess a random poor eremite
... you figure you want to possess something human-like eventually even if you get a puppet body like wanderer/raiden so...
here goes nothing...
so it's been 2 weeks since you've been forcefully yanked into teyvat, and by the second week, you were trying to possess eremites
which! worked out!
mostly..!
you kinda convinced the entirety of two eremite camps that a certain part one of sumeru's forests is hella haunted bc ppl keep "blacking out" and doing things they don't remember doing, yknow... like possesssion LMAO
they kinda ran off to escape you but, hey!
experiment #2: people possession, success!!
now you were kinda convinced of this when you realized no matter the angle the animals and machines of sumeru didnt react to you getting super close to them (you dont have to touch something to posses it, just look at it really, but you wanted to test limits, so you walked up to sumpter beasts and fungi and ruin machines)
but no one can see you.
you don't have a "character" most of the time, you can float and glide around the ground like scaramouche lol
you cant touch stuff bc of this, you cant smell stuff (u saw the eremites campfires & couldnt smell the smoke until you were them)
you cant eat stuff w/o a body, so.. it makes sense that the eremites and passing merchants, cant see you when you float around, trying to reorient yourself after 2 weeks of experimenting
:( ur only a lil sad about it... but mostly not bc lol u got possession powers so trade off u guess
Tumblr media
the first time you see a vision-bearer you literally scream
LMAO
ur so lucky u cant be seen or heard
bc Collei would have def screamed back lol
needless to say u stalk the forest ranger- ALL DAY.
Collei goes on patrol around the woods? you go on a patrol.
collei goes to visit other forest rangers? you "visit" other forest rangers at base (lol u def possess a guy who was asleep on a bench nearby & wake up to go talk to Collei "in-person", poor guy was so worried he sleep walked/talked so hard he went to see Tighnari an hour later lmao)
welp, you decide this is your life now, follow Collei everywhere, talk one-sided to Collei until you can possess a forest ranger w/o it being suspicious (dont wanna turn the poor rangers into the terrified eremites from a week or two ago...)
then, after you get the courage and erase the paranoia that tighnari can just... somehow hear your ghostly bullshit-
u do the same to Tighnari (then Cyno when he visits! no u didnt squeal, so what, nobody can hear you- )
Tighnari begins to get suspicious about 3 weeks into this routine.
he's been starting to collect and start a file on all the rangers or nearby villagers that've started randomly "blacking out/sleep walking" in the evenings usually
(u possess as close to nighttime as u can so it seems like sleepwalking)
So when Cyno comes back from a mission gone wrong,
having nearly been decapitated by a rogue flying ruin machine, only to black out and come to standing calmly 10 feet further than he remembered being 1 minute ago...
Tighnari's suspicions are confirmed, and he launches into researching this phenomenon.
his first thought is something like the aranara, but that doesn't account for the effect this thing is having on people
after all, what little forest spirit is strong enough to-
-control humans??
Tighnari begins to get the sense he's in over his head after he finds himself pushed into going into Sumeru City in order to collect more library books or ask around if the blackouts have spread to the city people
he answer is negative, on both accounts.
and he spends about one half of the day walking around, and the other reading up all he can on mythical creatures or ailments
Tighnari gives up for the day, and as he makes his way back to Ghandarvaville, he almost gets ambushed by some particularly nasty muggers
...and then he wakes up 20 feet away, his denro vision thrumming with power, full of worry and fondness for himself??, (just like Cyno said he felt happen to him..)
...Tighnari decides he needs reinforcements.

I’m really inspired by your world building and the creatures you use. I’m trying to kickstart my own world using Celtic, Norse and Scottish myths (it also involves werewolves because they’re cool)
But I’m stumped and a bit overwhelmed. How’d you start your project and what were huge sources of inspiration for you as you worked on The Black Horse?
hi there!!! this will probably get wordy i have a lot of thoughts on this but here's how i built up my inver setting
i had the characters first, and the werewolf establishment was basically the first thing invented about the world. I wrote a decent amount about the characters in the pre-1st draft slush pile just getting a handle on their voices, their history together, etc. the first slush draft was in painstaking chronological order telling of their lives from birth to like age 40 - it wasn't pretty to read but it meant I knew what big moments formed their worldview, their relationships with others, things like that. and then i got to pick and choose which ones would feature in the actual 1st draft, and which i would leave unsaid, in flashback form, or only in the form of vague allusions. the plot and world events changed significantly as i wrote the actual 1st draft so this ended up only being useful for backstory stuff and not book plots, but it was still good to have.
There was an important moment of a character being kidnapped into a faery realm, which is what started me off thinking about fairies in general. they weren't originally a part of this world - it was an undefined space before just for the characters to exist in, because i was (and still am) more interested in the characters than the worldbuilding. but i still like for there to be SOMETHING there in the background, and it gives a lot of opportunities to inform characterisation, so i started to make my setting. I picked the Púca as a pivotal being & major inspiration source to include because of its relatively large presence in the fringes of my childhood in stories told by my older relatives and i like the unusual aspects about it as well, how it has been both heroic and malevolent in different stories. you have to remember i grew up in this culture too, i knew a lot already, and that's what got me thinking of alternate Earth history - as in, the setting of Inver as alternate history, not wholly original fantasy set in a fantasy land.
So then I had to think about the implications of that, and here is where I think a lot of authors adapting extant mythology fall short. A world where faeries/mythological monsters/gods based in real cultures exist and people interact with them is indistinguishable from our own. We already live in a world where people interact with faeries in their own way; I've heard many older relatives recount stories of being trapped in their fields by faeries, how you can only escape by taking off your jumper and putting it back on inside out. There was no question as to whether they believed this was a concrete, meaningful interaction with a supernatural being. We have a motorway that was diverted while it was being built because the builders didn't want to risk cutting down a hawthorn tree. There is a deep stigma against harming hawthorns. Now, tell me how things would be any different if faeries were real irl? ftr I do not believe in the supernatural whatsoever, not even a little bit, but it is impossible to deny that I live in a world deeply shaped by it - I need only look out the window at the stands of whitethorn around my house to know that. because the main expression of that supernatural element is in how the people of that culture react.
you cannot, you cannot pick and choose only the monsters from a legend and leave behind the people who made & propagated that legend. you're only taking a single thread from a rich tapestry. I'm not arguing that other cultures should be untouchable, far from it, I'm just saying that to truly appreciate it, you need context for everything you adapt. you gotta know what you're writing about
in that sense, the people are more important to building Inver than the faeries. a citizen of Inver not immediately affected by the main plotline would likely never see or interact with magic in their lifetime, but their society is still shaped by it. so is mine (though that's more on the catholic church than anything else)
So now that I'd had that realisation, I decided to dump a lot of the traditional fantasy tropes I'd been working with. Think basic fantasy setting stuff, pop culture "The Fae" tropes, even the terminology of 'Fae' at all - that is not something I've ever heard the older generation in my life call them. It's just 'fairies' to them (although I did shift the spelling to match the Yeats poem because I could not handle writing characters making accusations of being A Fairy and have it not come across as a unintentionally homophobic accusation lmao). I did some research; mostly on JSTOR, using my institutional access, because my own university is mostly science and didn't have a big library of anthropological texts. I read An Táin Bó Culainge which is honestly one of the greatest stories of all time PLEASE READ IT if you are at all interested in Irish myth. It is a fantastic story and extremely comedic as well (a canon mmmf foursome lol). In terms of academic sources specific to the Púca, I have a drive folder of pdfs I will share with anyone if they ask.
I decided I was not going to include anything from what people actually think of as pre-christian Irish mythology - no fianna [rangers notwithstanding], no Ulster cycle, no Tuatha Dé, no Irish gods. All the things I include are post-colonial aside from the notion of the Otherworld in general. This decision wasn't necessarily accurate to what might have happened in this alternate history (given that christianity still has no real foothold in Inver) but it is a colonised society after all. It's why I got slightly steamed once when someone filed my Púca art into their irish deities/irish polytheism tag (I have my own issues with iripols/gaelpols for the same reason I dislike people taking myths out cultural context and in this case contemporary cultural context), because the Púca is in fact a postcolonial being - it comes from the UK, and likely the mainland as well
One of the last things I did before starting on my 2nd draft, which is what turned into Said the Black Horse, was decide to always capitalise the word 'Púca'. Because what really clicked from doing my research and remembering what I'd heard as a child was that the Púca is a specific character. Not a species, not a class of monster. A character, one guy. And you'll find this everywhere - the obvious example is the Minotaur being one specific guy, the son of Minos, not just 'a minotaur'. One very funny consequence of speciesifying mythological characters is dnd ppl saying their character is A Firbolg (fir bolg is plural!!). Fantasy bestiary books like Dragonology or Spiderwick Chronicles have done some amount of damage to how people relate to myths and legendary creatures, and I am not immune as someone who loves speculative biology, but in Inver I decided to cut all of that out.
Next once I got that out of the way I had to think about tone, atmosphere, and intended results. I didn't achieve my holy grail of a very atmospheric, undefined, and uncertain story that provides no answers, due to limitations in my own abilities, but I tried. I have given less than 1 second of thought to how magic or faery biology in Inver works because that is not conducive to the atmosphere of a fairytale. Many of these source myths and legends are really about the fear of the unknown. They are rationalisations to explain away something unknown, some mystery of life, and you cannot explain the unexplainable and expect it to carry the same punch as the original myths that you are drawn to adapt. That's also why I try to never actually give facts about fairies, but instead I talk about what people think of them. The word 'considered' does some insanely heavy lifting in that linked post lmao. Is any of what I wrote true with regards to the Red King?? It is for the people who believe it.
I'm saying all of this because these are all points I had to think about before writing that 2nd draft, but also because I think they're worth considering for your own story as well. I'll admit I invented my werewolves from scratch, they have no mythological basis, because they pre-date the faery stuff and also I wanted them to fill a very specific role and appear a little more concrete than the other supernatural elements. It is what it is; I wanted a werewolf element that didn't match myths and legends (and honestly was partially inspired by me rolling my eyes about those posts going around moaning and whining about 'the doggification of werewolves missing the point of werewolf stories'. I thought, well, there's more than one story you can tell with a werewolf - it isn't always 'i fear the beast within', sometimes it's something else! sometimes it's daddy issues! it's okay to make something new)
ok i think that's all i have to say.. modern Inver is a bit different, that worldbuilding is largely the same but with a big dose of actual ecology because the main characters are rangers and in Inver in 2017, rangers mostly do environmental monitoring. and that's a whole different sort of worldbuilding lol
good luck with your story!!

im happy for dteam yeah!! Like they're happy and with new Friends who love them and love to roleplay and joke with them the same way (team mafia match their freak so well) and seem excited to try new stuff again which makes me happy.
I thought they and mostly dream stopped doing so much this year, not only bc they're trying more ambicious projects that require more time but also bc of the everything happening they weren't feeling motivated to go and stream, specially with some of the stuff in this recent months, but now i see they're happy and with motivation and that makes me smile :D I hope seeing them more often being happy, i'm so glad this new Friends are motivating them to do stuff just for the fun of it again
Also sapnap and piru writting each other names in their death notes was peak moment like lmaooo i love them
you will now allow me the parasocial moment of the month, but i think most people don't get it and that's why reddit behaves like that
imagine the grief of all of it. not just the losses but the ways in which things were lost. the public spectacle. there is not one thing from 2020 and their rise to fame that the dteam can still claim, it's only each other
and like. i'm supposed to pretend things feel normal to them? and that they are going to continue as if they were normal ? obviously not. it is so clear to me that a lot of the "empty" time in their content is just grief adjacent
yes obviously the preparation and the big projects and all. but like, they are human beings ? of course they are hurt by it and you don't just get over something like ALL THAT in a day or two. you try and make something new and everything just ends like shit again over and over and over. and you lose your project and you lose your friends and nobody ever defends you. yeah, i get it, they're tired
this whole new thing however does not exactly depend on them so it's kinda like. being offered to start again in a way ?
a lot of these creators are people who adore them and look up to them and have seen the controversies and chose to still side with them every time. even before being friends, before you could say it was "beneficial" for them to do so. they liked them because they did and that's it
and now they're all friends, and they all want to do stuff, and there's no who has the biggest dick infighting. it's just genuine joy of being able to do things together, as shitty and unprepared as they come. they're not the ones that need to reach out anymore, it's an even friendship that they don't have to fight tooth and nail to maintain
they go out, and get invited to each other's events all the time unconditionally, and they make stupid jokes and nobody shits on them about it, and they don't get told they're too loud or too annoying or too competitive or whatever the fuck. and nobody expects anything in return. and they can disappear for months and come back and they will still like them all the same
so obviously you have a new motivation now. to get on calls again, to be in these events, to make an irl stream, to even stream at all. people around them don't hate them, they get invited to do things, people want to organise things WITH them, they won't get shittalked after a competition is over, and if they are their friends BY THEIR WON VOLITION will defend them
it's different and it's gonna take time of course like all things, but it's new and it's good. it's starting over. and they deserve the space to go through whatever that entails, because they've been through enough

well, that was bitterly disappointing to the depths of my soul.
yes, I'm talking about Tech.
he deserved better. the BATCH deserved better. OMEGA deserved better.
I don't like the way they basically just erased any and all grief for Tech except for a couple of fucking off-hand mentions that barely whetted the appetite for more of the only character I really identified with
because I'm the info dumping autistic guy in my irl groups
and to see him shuffled off in the manner they used was a fucking insult
and to be teased about it by the show creators
or worse, harassed by the bad lot of Star Wars fans
and to kill off their autistic guy who DEFINITELY had chemistry and the first hints of flirty bonding with a Black woman is a bad look, v bad look
imo they botched the whole finale, not just the Tech thing because like look:
I guess this zillo beast is just gonna live on that planet now, instead of getting involved in the story they had it fuck off to the jungle - what
CX-2? who was he? too bad we'll never know because he was dropped before he was identified
it was shot so dark, everything was hard to see, and mind you my television set is especially tuned for it to NOT be dark because I hate that shit, I am going to be forced to watch it again despite not wanting to so I can listen to the audio descriptions and better understand the fights
they totally dropped Omega's force sensitivity stuff, like I wanted to know more about that, and about the other kids, will they even be safe? cause we know the empire keeps stealing force sensitive kids
speaking of those kids, what even was the point? the research was destroyed yet we know project necromancer is eventually successful or maybe they're retconning that too, who knows, all the rules are off the table and nothing matters
writing was inconsistent for an episode meant to be important
Crosshair did not deserve to have his hand cut off. I know prosthetics are "easier" and "more accessible" in this universe but also I don't give a fuck, just insult to injury and more, this man has suffered enough from the moment they jacked his chip up to 11
back to Tech: they spent so much time being cute little shits about him that his return seemed inevitable, as I watched the season I kept counting down time left for him to show up, and I had hopes all the way through until the first fade to black, only to be bitterly reminded of his death with the goggles in Omega's ship
--
two highlights I did enjoy - Omega and Hunter at the end, making me wonder if there will be a show about Omega set during the rebellion or if she'll show up in The Mandalorian or Ahsoka
Nala Se killing the shit out of rampart as she herself died, thank you Nala Se
but overall UGH, I will be tender from this one for awhile, I almost want to cancel Disney+ until I feel able to watch Star Wars stuff again
might write some fix-it fic, I'm too hurt right now tho
I'm commiserating with the rest of you who seem to have much the same reaction to this disaster of a finale
so yeah, we all deserved better, fictional folks and real folks and zillo beasts alike

Been doing a lot of thinking about who "I" am in relation to my system. I'm Crimson, but who is Crimson? I'm... an imaginary friend, I guess? I started out as one, I mean. I was with Purple a lot growing up, and she'd pretend she was playing with a little mouse who got into all sorts of silly, mischievous trouble. And that's me, the mouse.
But... I'm not "just" an imaginary friend. I've fronted before, like many of the other alters in this system. I've talked to alters other than Purple. Hell, I've been the host for this system on and off... but I still struggled with identifying as "Reimei". Like, sure, I'm a part of the Reimei system. But... am I Reimei? I couldn't tell you that for a long time. Logically, if I'm an alter in a system, then that means I'm a part of that system, right?
I've struggled the most with the idea of fusion and identifying with a singular sense of self. It had nothing to do with losing the others, or losing myself. It was that I didn't feel like a part of Reimei the person. I was always Reimei's imaginary friend, inherently separate from the rest of the system. I didn't understand what it meant for me to be both an imaginary friend and a part of this system. Did that mean I was my own person? A completely separate identity? "You don't have to fuse if you don't want to," the others told me again and again. But I wanted to. But I also didn't want to. And I wanted to understand why I didn't want to.
And so.... I spoke to the only other alter I knew who had similar-ish origins to me. I spoke to Tiger Plushie Green, who, while not actually our Tiger Plushie irl, is an introject of him. And we talked about how we're similar, why we're different, and, notably, why he's able to consider himself Reimei while I struggle with it. "Well you see, even though I'm not actually our plush tiger toy, Reimei had a habit of projecting a personality into that plushie," he told me. "And by projecting into the plushie, that means Reimei, or rather, I, was projecting a part of myself into the toy."
And... it felt like something clicked for me. My entire perspective of myself changed in that moment. I realized that I have always been Reimei, but I was so lonely that I projected a version of myself into an imaginary friend so that I could be less alone. The thoughts and feelings I had projected onto that little imaginary mouse all originated from... me. But I am also that mouse, because the mouse is a part of me. I cried so hard, suddenly understanding what it means to be "a part of Reimei" and also what it means to be "all of Reimei" at the same time. I'm both. I'm an imaginary friend of myself. How sad, how lonely I must have been as a child, that I found solace in becoming a mouse to soothe my own pain.
Anyways... I thought I would share all of this on this blog that we keep. Perhaps there are other imaginary friends in systems out there like me, wondering how they fit into their system and their collective identity. Maybe my story can help someone out there better understand themselves.

This is a long rant and I apologise if this comes off as too much 😅 I just want to let you know that I'm SO GLAD you're part of the star wars fandom. You're one of the few reasons my interest in this franchise has survived despite the toxicness that it has seeped into everything the past few years. Yes, star wars fandom has always been pretty much a mess but I feel like these days it's somehow gotten even worse. And there isn't even anything coming out that could distract everyone from the constant drama.
Your blog and your posts about the books are always a breath of fresh air in all this. I really appreciate that you take time to make all these long canon references and share them with us. And that you actually engage with canon content! For some reason that seems to be a tall order for most 'fans' these days.
It's exhausting seeing the ice cold takes about the jedi be repeated over and over again by people who seem to have barely even watched the films, let alone read the random book they're referencing to show how the jedi are So Evil and failed poor anakin by Forcing him to let go of his Attachments so they definitely deserved to all get massacred down to the last child!!! And if you push back by citing literally anything canonical to show how ridiculous their takes are they reference a random obscure legends novel (that they are often twisting and also usually haven't even read) And if you point out that, no, Legends isn't canon (and never has been) and we could discuss it as its own separate thing instead of dragging it into canon discussions, they completely flip and say they don't care and to stop taking star wars so seriously 🙄 ( u can probably tell I've had some pretty frustrating fandom arguments recently lol)
It does feel like groundhog day sometimes with the same arguments being repeated over and over again to villainize the jedi while absolving the genocidal mass enslaving space fascists that are Very Clearly the Bad Guys. And it feels pretty much deliberate at this point when people misunderstand star wars' canon definition of attachment and project all their issues in their own lives with their christian upbringing onto the space monks... This has only been exacerbated by people like Headland jumping onto the franchise and doing this with fuckass disney's approval, so now the racist anti jedi youtubers have started attacking this new anti jedi show so if I defend the jedi I get lumped in with them *sigh*
Anyway, I just listened to Padawan's Pride because of your posts and it was fun and a much needed palate cleanser for me after the months of anti jedi takes. I also started reading your jedi citations project and it's gotten me back into reading some other of my favorite jedi fics and maybe writing some of my own. So tldr; Thank You!
Oh, anon, I hear you and I went through a lot of similar feelings over the last few months. In between a lot of IRL stuff coming up and the fandom getting incredibly weird about Jedi fans (soooo much projection going on that it started getting unsettling sometimes) and the same old constant beratement on my posts, I was thinking that I was just too tired to deal with any of it.
It did get hard some days because it felt like no matter how hard I tried to be friendly and make a point to say that everyone needed to be allowed their space whether we agreed or not, that I would still get words put in my mouth or my posts misinterpreted or accused of trying to shut down other people's conversations, when I've never even interacted with that person, I've never reblogged anything from them, never talked about them, just made my own posts about the Jedi on my own blog.
That aspect of how, if we write posts that cite Lucas quotes or moments from the movies and shows, we're taking things too seriously (or the super weird one of how we're trying to "force" people to have to take Lucas' commentary as a holy grail or whatever), then we're taking it too seriously is SO REAL, I have been through that SO MUCH. And it's like, no! Nobody has to take authorial intention into consideration! But if you're going to say that I ~missed the point~ of what Lucas intended with the movies, I'm going to break out the Lucas quotes to show that, no, I didn't miss the point. You're still not obligated to agree, but the point is that I'm not coming out of nowhere with my views and deriding me as not a ~true fan~ or whatever is asshole behavior.
And it's hard to have that groundhogs day feeling, especially because you don't necessarily want to spend that time getting into arguments with people--they are allowed their own space, if they want it! But if they're coming into our space, then yes we get to respond with an essay if we like. (And, hey, some of us genuinely like writing essays, it's satisfying!) But I've found the best mindset for me to have when arguing is: I'm not going to convince this person in front of me and that's fine, they're not going to convince me, either. But there are other people watching this discussion and they are seeing which one of us is being a pill and which one of us looks kinda fun to hang out with.
Which is my way of winding around to what I really want to say--I'm so glad that I can help you want to have fun in this corner of fandom! There's always going to be times to respond with sharp edges to Jedi-critical stuff (especially when it starts dipping into the racist, xenophobic, bigoted nonsense)(not all of Jedi criticism is this, but it does happen all too often), I don't blame Jedi fans for having their nerves scraped raw by people feeling absolutely free to treat our posts like public property instead of them coming into someone else's lane to make a mess. (I've met some very nice Jedi critical people, this isn't about them, this is about the assholes.)
But is it really worth being in a fandom where that's all we do anymore? We can't avoid the negativity, we can't avoid people being assholes to us, but we can work on making the content we want to see at the end of a long day when we get home and log onto the computer and want to see something that makes us feel joyful.
I hope I'm doing my part to make it fun to stick around the fandom, to want to read some of the books or some of the fic, I love the artists who are drawing the cutest Jedi art, I love the fic writers who are writing great Jedi-positive stories, I love people who make silly shitposts about how funny the Jedi fan be, I love people who cry over the deaths of their favorite Jedi, they help make the fandom worthwhile.
It really does make a huge difference, I think! Whenever I need that same palette cleanser, I just take a week or so to push aside all discourse (don't even go look), just pick up some of my favorite Jedi fics, just go looking for some of my favorite Jedi art, reread "Padawan" or "Padawan's Pride" or "Obi-Wan & Anakin" or "The Living Force" or "Dark Rendezvous" and just spend time thinking about the things I love about the Jedi in canon, thinking up headcanons about lineages or nerdy Jedi philosophy arguments or adrenaline junkies, and it helps create the space I want to be in.
Hearing that I can help you with that is a huge boost as well--I hope you know that it helps me in return to know that we can help build something together here in our corner of the Star Wars internet. We're in this together and we can cheer each other up with cute content and I am getting out the pom-poms for you to have fun with that fic! <3

the gang as classes i’m taking this year 🤓☝️
is this a way for me to flex my fucked schedule? yes.
ponyboy:
AP Lit
ARE WE SURPRISED
likeeeee this is pony to a T
we’re currently reading the crucible (my school starts HELLA early in the year)
and pony is surprisingly vibing w the salem witch trials
a good amount of homework for this class, but since the majority is reading pony’s got that down
he does get super bored when they’re just taking notes though like his imagination just runs free
johnny:
APUSH ?? 🧍‍♀️
uhhh this was one i don’t really think would fit johnny but i only have 6 classes and calling “lunch” a class is reserved for steve
honestly this class is super quiet except the table i sit at with my friends so i think if johnny was with the gang (PRETEND THEY ALL GO TO SCHOOL OKAY🤨) or at least ponyboy he’d have a good old time
lots and lots and lots of notes but johnny kinda likes just independent work like that ykwim
group projects with random people suck the SOUL OUTTA HIM
darry:
sports med 2 ⚽️🏀🏈⚾️🥎‼️
darry would love this class at first solely cause there’s the word “sports” in it
this class has like 15 people in it, most are kinda jerks but he gets through it
when it comes to helping out the athletic trainer on game days after school, darry is THERE and he’s PREPARED
years of momming around teenage boys has prepared him to….tape some random kids wrist i guess
dally:
anatomy and physiology 🧍‍♀️☝️
HEAR ME OUT
first of all, i’d love to study human anatomy w him any day of the week💀🥰🤭😏😼
SECOND OF ALL, i think bros psychopathic tendencies would come out during dissection labs /j
in all seriousness though i feel like he’d be totally fearless when doing those typa labs like everyone’s kinda grossed out and scared (irl we gotta dissect a RABBIT😭🫢) and dally’s just like
”idk what yall are on about, mannn🙄”
also it’s a notoriously easy class at my school so that’s up dally’s lane for sure
two-bit:
pre calc🫢
NOW HEAR ME OUT AGAIN
the only reason i say this is because this year we got a new teacher to teach my pre calc class and she’s from some eastern european country and has an accent just like Grus from despicable me😭😭😭and that class is SO QUIET
and that’s kinda where two shines like he’ll yell out so much random shit in that class and it’s so hilarious to…
pretty much only his friends 🧍‍♀️ but that’s kinda the fun part though
lots of homework but you’re delusional if you think two-bits gonna actually do that
soda:
photo 2
the majority of the time spent in this class is just messing around on your computer which soda loves
like bro will find the most outta pocket and weird stuff to photograph
but also he gets real artsy with it sometimes just cause he’s messing around
surprisingly it turns out super good sometimes
he’s the king in general of being just as shocked as anyone that hes succeeding as a whole
steve:
LUNCH
bro struggles through the entire day just for these 20 minutes istg
like bro endures so much in classes he doesn’t understand with people he doesn’t like just for those moments😭😭
honestly that’s me during seasonal depression winter
hes the type to stop everyone during lunch and just rant about all the weird shit that happened throughout that day
like he’s def the type to see someone get jumped or do something weird in class and think
”man i gotta tell the gang about this at lunch”
actually doesn’t mind school food…😭
OK IDRK WHAT THIS WAS THIS KINDA SUCKED BUT ANYWAYS MY INBOX IS OPEN BYEEEEE🥰🥰

Okay, so, I was talking with an IRL friend earlier and we were talking about our autism and it's weird fucking traits. For example, me being unable to stand the texture or smell of black jeans so i have to wear really loose big one that i roll the pants leg up off. Or for them, being unable to stand the feeling of hair on their face and sometimes being hyper aware of it on their scalp. So, while we were talking, I was thinking Mike Wheeler...
One thing that really stuck out to me was how we view our heart beats. I've had a lot of near death experiences and I like feeling my heart. I like that feeling of my heart in my throat, i like hearing it in my ears, I absently check my pulse during conversation or if i'm feeling anxious. If i can't go to sleep at night, i roll on my stomach and feel my heart in my chest and lower throat. I like to feel it. My friend, however, is actively sickened by it. They cannot stand the feeling of it; they basically get the ick by it and don't like touching their wrist period. And imagine this with Mike and Will.
I might be projecting but I've almost drowned on multiple occasions and have fallen from heights, (Not quarry heights but enough to make me scared of falling, drowning, and hospitals. Remember those near-death experiences, they're no demodogs but still.) So, imagine Mike being comforted by his and Will's hearts. Imagine Mike feeling his pulse whenever he can to make sure he's still ALIVE. That all those near deaths didn't matter, that he survived. A Demogorgon chases them and once they get away, Mike's fingers aren't only on his wrist but whoever was with them. he's looking at their chests to make sure they're breathing. Checking to see if they're blood still pumping and their cheeks are rosy. Imagine that Mike loves the feeling of adrenaline in his veins because it means he's breathing, he's still here. He is desperate to remember his life
However, imagine Will being sickened by it. Imagine Will, who was forced to listen to his own heartbeat on the monitor while mind flayed, being unable to stand the feeling of his own heart. That when he feels his heart in his throat, he can only think of coughing up that slug. That when fingers on are his wrist he pulls his wrist away because it makes him think of doctors and people prodding at him like he's just science to them now. When he feels the adrenaline in his veins he hates it because it makes him think of his time in the upside down. Then after Vecna strangles him, he can't stand anything near his neck because of it, much less hands. Will would be content to ignore that he had a heart at all honestly.
Now imagine Mike keeps reaching for Will's wrist to check if he's alive, he keeps going for the neck, or trying to put a hand on Will's chest. Then Will goes to snap at him in irritation only to see pure panic and teary eyes on Mike's face because Mike needs to know if Will is real or not. He needs to know if this is happening or if it's vecna and why isn't Will letting him? Was it something he did? did he mess up again? he thought they were good! And Will puts everything aside for a moment, just so Mike can make sure. Then for the first time in awhile, Will doesn't mind the hands on his wrist. His body warms like he's standing in front of a fire on a winters day as Mike's body heat soaks into his skin. he thinks, 'hey, maybe it's not so bad." So from then on, Will hands his wrist to Mike automatically, but keeps pulling it away from anyone else. It would be...so cool!

How do you deal with the potential shame of being unapologetically yourself? I feel like you approach social media differently—it comes from a place of real yearning and genuine interest. I've tried disconnecting but even in talking to ppl irl feels superficial.
shame, that's a beast you're going to have to constantly slay. it never ends but i will admit it gets significantly easier the more you do it. it shows up in new ways all the time. it's most important to drill into your head though that really, at the end of the day, no one, and i mean NO ONE, really cares. people might care to merely *say* something about what you're doing, if it's 1) significantly bad or 2) significantly good. either way you're significantly onto something. with every step you take, no matter positive or negative, you are closer to discovering what you like and don't like, THAT'S what matters most.
i just follow what excites me and that's it. it only just started working out for me, but it took a lot of learning in front of millions of people online and moments of shame to arrive at. i'm talking years of basically doing "embarrassing" things until figuring out what made sense for me. that's what everyone successful has had to do though, and there's absolutely zero shame in trying.
though, i will admit, shame is a big thing for me. it drives me. it makes me want to be better so that no one can tell me otherwise. when you really know yourself, your skills, your interests, and what you're about, no one can interrupt that. no matter who they are. so i guess the way to combatting shame is a lot of work put in towards your craft (if you have one) & self discovery. for me, self discovery and my craft are intertwined so it's a win win.
if your conversations in real life feel superficial it's within your power to learn how to cultivate more meaningful conversations. a book that helped me with that is "how to win friends and influence people" by dale carnegie.
spending one on one time with people you care about on a regular basis is important in eradicating superficiality. things that you normally do alone, it'd be good to ask if someone else would want to do it with you. make it a routine! a walk, a workout class, grabbing coffee, a fun project, etc. one of the universal truths is, if you're feeling some type of way, there's definitely another person out there that is too. just like any skill, being social and connecting deeply with others is a muscle that grows over time. give yourself and others grace to build that muscle. <3

hey can i be sappy for a moment, i feel like getting a thing off my chest (positive vent)
I love you all in the SMG4 Tumblr community so much. Y'all are absolutely epic and amazing and so creative and just. chill.
I've always been so nervous about joining set fandoms/fandom communities, cuz usually the community is huge and overwhelming, toxic, scary, crazy, and the idea of being in those communities and interacting with people in those communities and being in there not just to post a dingle fanart from it and dip, but to help be a big part of the community and whatnot sounded... overwhelming.
Then I slowly began getting super hyperfixated on SMG4, much more than I usually am, leading me to post more about it. Fanart, things I notice, goofy theories... more than just me saying a couple things i like about it, posting a fanart, then moving onto something else.
I started kinda just exploring the SMG4 tags and gradually, I began recognizing most of the people in this community more and more -- recognizing art styles, etc. I noticed how small a community it was.
And it was a mostly chill community. I wasn't really seeing much drama or questionable things, maybe some criticisms about the show or theories or whatever, but nobody was at each others throats. Plus, the fan OCs were super neat.
I had begun posting more and more SMG4 content, drawing fanart, their OCs, and the fact people were so just... chill and welcoming about it was so nice. It wasn't nearly as scary -- we are all just vibing here. Most of the artists you look up to will probably see your work, and give it attention too.
It feels super strange to be considered an SMG4 Tumblr artist, having people literally enjoying the things I make and making things for me when they make things for SMG4 fanartists... its honestly super surreal. But so so exciting and euphoric.
Cuz yall are so awesome!! Yall make my day so bright. Yall are the best.
I'll be honest, when I first was slowly being a part of the SMG4 community -- sometime right after summer vacation began -- I had been dealing with some petty but difficult irl person issues.
I don't want to get into it too much, but I had basically messed up in a pretty bad way (enough to make me feel bad the moment I did it, but not enough that we couldn't move on and mature from it), and the people involved were hurt worse than I thought they were, and instead of trying to talk it out they resorted lying about being my friends for months before school ended, and over summer break, tried to cancel one of my Scratch account and drag my followers there into drama that they had no business being in, for the simple reason being "you don't deserve all that fame".
Despite their attempt at trying to cancel me not really working out very well, it very much affected me negatively and made me very very scared about using Scratch again. I still post projects there sometimes, but i felt weird when i do it. I felt like those people were watching my every move, waiting to try and drag me down again. It felt so strange and scary to feel like the people I once cared so deeply about are breathing down my neck, waiting for me to make another wrong move and add it to their proof of why I'm an awful person.
It sucks ass.
The SMG4 community here on Tumblr, despite none of you knowing I was going through anything at all, you all helped a lot. Just existing.
Being a welcoming community that I feel safe to be silly and normal in.
I've never been the best at expressing appreciation, but let me just say:
I think of you all so highly and I never want you to change.
Keep making silly art. Or fanfics. Or AUs. Or OCs. Or whatever you like doing in this tiny close-knit fandom.
Keep doing everything you're doing to make this community mean so much to me.
❤️❤️❤️
...this sounds like im leaving the community,, IM NOT I just wanted to get it off my chest cuz ive been experiencing the emotions™ yknow, sorry that its not like my regular posts lol, im not gonna post like this much LMAOOO
TL;DR: yall are fuckin awesome please keep being awesome forever and ever ily bye
