I don't know how better to show this without explicitly saying it: These two are not the other's fucking caretaker. Phil is not Bagi's father figure and Bagi is not Phil's mother figure. Yes, they can scold each other when the other is doing something dumb (cough, 7 hcs ago, cough). Friends do that. They support each other and call each other on their bs. That is not parenting, that's being a good friend. And they are to each other.

On that note, it hasn't come up too much yet but when shit sucks (like when the eggs were lost or lost lives), they're good at distracting each other. But like without halting the process of dealing with their emotions. If they're sad, they'll be sad together, but they're good at picking the right conversation topics to lighten the mood. About language brainrot. Imagine writer creator reader who finally learns how to write in Teyvat's weird symbols and they want to publish their book. They decided to do it anonymously to avoid the "aaaaaah our creator wrote the holy scripture" sort of situation. Except it didn't work. The reader's style is too different from the rest of the world, so even if they tried to simulate the flowery speech it wasn't effective.

Another thing. Reader who decided to read some local books to practice their reading. They asked for something simple and similar to their speech. But the only books merely similar to it are 2000 and more years old. It's funny how the older text is the more you can understand it. On this note. If reader write something i feel like it would be hard to understand for Teyvat's people.

Imagine a reader who is autistic or has any other NDs imparing their communication skills. They practically trained themselves to say sertain phrases in sertain situation. But it doesn't work in Teyvat. And everything just stacks at each other. Difference in speech, being a God (so people react weirdly to you), bad communication skills, not understanding nonverbal cues and so on. There's gonna be a lot of misunderstanding. I imagine how followers would walk on the eggshells not to upset and angry their God and reader who does the same not to say something people will get wrong. Again.

childe has always been able to tell that your love language was not words of affirmation. at first in your relationship, he felt a little weird about it, and constantly told you that you could talk to him if you needed to. he didn’t feel that you were hiding anything from him, more just thinking that you felt you couldn’t tell him things because of how often he was at work. childe is not the most serious person in the world, but he definitely wants to know how you’re feeling at the times when he isn’t joking around so much.

after he asks you about it, and you give a brief explanation of your feelings towards him, and perhaps why things are the way they are, he will slowly get better at reading you based on your actions. He finds acts of service absolutely endearing, like when he’s going to make his lunch for the following day at the bank, only to find you’ve already packed it for him, or when he’s sustained a small injury in battle and you tend to him.

he will come home from work early one day (he got sent home bc he kept daydreaming about you), only to find you arranging a bouquet of flowers for him. ribbons and greenery and flowers and a vase laid out on the living room floor, and you carefully putting each flower in place like it was the most delicate craft known to man, so concentrated that you didn’t hear him come in. he knocks gently on the door upon entering, as to not startle you…

“baby? what’s all this?”

“oh, nothing…”

“are these for me? how sweet!”

“no! i mean yes? i mean- i thought maybe-... do you not like them?”

“i love them, and i love you!”

he gently grabs your wrist to get you up from the floor, pulling you right into his arms and placing a gentle kiss on the top of your head.

thoma is very socially aware (?). since he spends so much time around people, he can easily tell how they’re feeling and what they're thinking, which is a skill he doesn’t really even notice himself having, or one that he notices himself using on you. he knows what you’re thinking sometimes before you even do! he realises that sometimes people need space to understand themselves and is more than happy to give that to you, and understands if you don’t give him words of affirmation. he’s pretty secure in his image of himself, so it’s easy for him to understand if you express your love in a different manner. 

thoma is someone who has a LOT of love to give, but is so busy sometimes that when he has a super packed schedule for the day, he will condense all that care and compassion into a short space of time, be it the morning, when you’re eating together, or when you’re laying together in bed, slowly falling asleep. if you fall asleep before him, he will wrap his arms around you, and whisper about how he loves you before falling asleep himself. 

he totally giggles when you’re cuddling him and touching or poking at his cheeks out of boredom, or running your hands through his hair. will just start cackling and not be able to stop, and suddenly you’ve both succumbed to laughter and are just melting in each others arms.

he has a routine of cooking dinner for you at least 3 times a week, and despite the fact that you tell him you will help he will insist that you don’t lift a finger. so you will sit on the bench in the kitchen and adore him. he’ll literally be rinsing rice and then turn back around and you suddenly hug him. 

“so anyway i was thinking, if i cook the broth just a little bit le- oh? hello there. what’s this, hm? let me set this pot down first, sweetie.” 

diluc has never been in a relationship before you, so at first he doesn’t notice the fact that you face difficulty with expressing your feelings towards him. he understands very well how you feel about him from the way you act, and hopes you notice his feelings towards you too. he doesn’t really like the idea of couples being all in each others faces too much, he honestly thinks its a little cringe and over the top. it's all about the little things with diluc, he's a simple man.

understands that you love him when you brush his hair for him, or put your arms around his waist when he gets home in the evening. he knows that this is how you express your affection for him, and he trusts you enough to let you do these things, whereas he would never let anyone else do this.

he’s not a very poetic person, so he finds it a little hard to find the words to explain how he feels about you. he will instead settle for small gestures to show his appreciation for you, and hopes you know how much you mean to him. 

he knows how important communication is though, so despite the fact he knows you both might have problems with it, he tries his best to make sure you know how he feels about you. eventually he will probably approach you, speaking in a low, gentle tone in an attempt to initiate a very loving conversation about how you both feel. he doesn’t want to make you uncomfortable, and wants you to feel safe, so if you don’t want to talk about it he will give you a hug, assure you that it’s completely okay and say it can wait for another day.

beautiful expressive brushwork !! it seems schaeffer was more interested in the overall impression and mood, so he didn’t bother with super realistic details… i strive for that kind of confidence HAHAH overall he’s great at knowing what parts to refine and what parts to leave more simple. there is so much to learn here

YOSHIMURA-SAN…how are you real? what goes on in your head when you draw? his art was my phone lockscreen for the longest time, because it is absolutely stunning. there is an overwhelming sense of calm and peace in his work, as if time had stopped, and he captured the essence of that moment. no joke!!! such subtle use of textures and light on top of incredible compositions… there aren’t enough words in any human language to describe his work

he is known for his art nouveau work which is a feat in itself (insane stuff), but i primarily get inspired by his paintings!! “the tree of life” especially takes my breath away bc it has such beautiful transitions between shades of blues and yellows.

the other painting here is called “the slavic epic - cicle I” and the composition (the colors, values, placement of people and objects) actually crit hits me it is that powerful… stunning blues that flow into brighter cyans, and then far in the back, leading the viewers eye into the distance, that reddish pinkish hue rising up into the sky is just hhejagzudawhakdsz . this is real and someone made that and we somehow manage to wake up every day and be normal!!!! wtf…

truly mesmerizing color compositions… they really remind me that art is pure magic and i can never tear my eyes away from his work. i also watched a couple of his courses on schoolism (the composition one is my favorite, but the daily color workouts also slap) and they were incredibly helpful!!

I've been reading a lot of short yuri stories by Toyo Totan & Iwami Kiyoko lately and I'm excited to use that inspiration to improve some of my own OC stuff too! (I recommend 'Last Summer Vacation' !)

And yes I'm fluent in Japanese !! I'm actually an officer in my college's JP language community & I used to translate manga on the side !! I'm completely self-taught through videos though, so while my listening and speaking are fluent I actually suck at reading LOL I'm so bad that when I translated manga I'd use my camera's text to speech to do everything...

I'm a huge language nerd too! I watch a bunch of scientific videos/TED-Talks on how our brain learns languages and tips to learn things more efficiently! For example, apparently when you first start learning a language you should never try to speak it right off! If you try speaking before listening for a very long time, your brain just kinda solidifies your verbal pronunciation and it can have long-term effects on not only how you sound, but also how you HEAR sounds! This is also why some think that children learn languages better, because they spend a long time exposed to it while being non-verbal. I love this fact bc I kinda experienced it myself!

I spent about 2 years just watching JP translated videos of people speaking naturally (not videos aimed at foreigners, nor shows that have acting, more like vlog-type stuff!) and only started speaking when exposed to others who could speak it too ! Especially during COVID, I think I was pretty much spending ~80% of my day listening and thinking in Japanese so I was very immersed! And because of that, I'm a little famous in my community for having the best pronunciation 😤 Going to on a trip to Japan & translating for the people who went with me also boosted my confidence a lot! I'll never forget this guy at an izakaya who asked how many years I've been living in Osaka LOL ("three days actually!")

I think the biggest downside though is that once u learn another language, ur first language skills get bad.. i often think up half-sentences and sayings/metaphors in Jap that just sound wrong when you try to translate it back into Eng ;;; i sometimes trail off when i speaking because i forget the english word for certain things, but my friends are now just used to my weird metaphors so!

I went on such a long tangent!! But anyways!! Thank u for always sending me the sweetest asks, I always save them to my phone and I'm pretty sure all my friends know abt u bc I always show them the nice things u say 😭!! And yes!!! I wanted to say something for an anonymous comment about feeling less embarrassed of having feelings for Rocket. I must say I totally understand that.

A month ago, when GOTG VOL 3 was released, I went to see it at the cinema with my mother, I spent the whole movie very excited for Rocket, but right in that scene where he is on the verge of death and he meets Lylla again, SOMETHING INSIDE IT CHANGED ABOUT ME, because when they were hugging I realized I was JEALOUS, and in my mind I thought "OH NO, IT'S HAPPENING TO ME AGAIN", because I always fall for characters that might be unconventional or weird to other people , then I start looking for fics and I realize that there are not many for the same reason, or there are many where it is more platonic and I think "IT IS NOT ENOUGH" And it's more complicated for me because my first language is not English and in my language there is NOTHING. I'm even thinking about writing some one shots myself but it's hard, I've never written NSFW and I find it kind of funny that I want to start with Rocket.

This is supposed to be a writing smut guide specifically meant for Rocket so I’m not gonna go into the basics of writing smut, but if you’re a total beginner, here’s some pointers to help :

the genitals, legs, muscles, brain : main places that tend to be the most stimulated, exhausted or absolutely wiped. That being said, you can use these as a starting point for describing the feelings the characters or the reader may feel in the moment.

besides the main thing, you could try to set the mood by maybe mentioning how the moans sounded like, (screams, squeals, cries etc.) and other things the characters were doing to ground them in the moment, like gripping the sheets, gripping the other person’s shoulder or hips, etc.

Okay, so, about Rocket in particular …

Yeah, of course writing smut about a fucking Raccoon isn’t going to be fucking easy. But don’t worry, as someone who has studied all 3 gotg films and slowed down quite possibly every single Rocket clip in existence (enough to know Rocket … is genuinely CANONICALLY is very particular/skilled with his fingers, he knows where he’s putting them and knows EXACTLY which buttons to press on any tech, so … definitely good at using his fingers if you catch my drift) I think I might have gotten the hang of it to help some of you guys out.

So first off, when I write Rocket smut I always imagine he’s his comic height instead of his mcu height (don’t search it up, you’re just gonna be depressed about it trust me) so all you have to know is that if he pressed you up against a wall his head would be around your shoulder blade area. For missionary, he’s probably around your collarbone.

Yes you’re so correct about his isolation issues being purely from circumstance. I think he has a huuuuge family so he’s never really by himself but Randy is an only child with only child parents so he’s Always alone when he’s not with Howard. Absent Cunningham parent are real to me - would love for them not to be but he gets away with so much shit there’s no way they pay that much attention

I’m not really a big Theresa fan in general (she’s just a little boring imo but I know they would have developed her more if they had the time to :,( )but her being a baby bat is so good. okay so initial thoughts on honkai star rail after i played like half of the tutorial bit this morning before work

first off, for the record, i have not played or heard much of anything about honkai impact 3rd and i have only played genshin impact pretty much since launch so my expectations were "genshin but sci-fi fantasy" but i can say that's not quite what i got (here’s a read more if you don’t care lol)

- immediately i notice that the graphics fidelity is gorgeous, very sleek and clean - it startled me a bit but also made me happy that the lip flaps are synced to the english dub! it seemed to flow really well even with the expression changes. the dialogue system doesn't seem all too different from genshin or. any other system like that. but it's got a pretty nice polish on the transitions between different states - the animation in the cutscenes and battles are really good, clearly they had a real talented team working on them. the characters feel so bouncy and expressive and it is pretty darn satisfying - the UI and interactive language is pretty much exactly the same as genshin with a sci-fi coat of paint. that's not a bad thing necessarily but like. it's pretty obvious - so the way combat and elemental powers work is very different from genshin, which frankly i should have expected, given this is a turn-based rpg. and i shouldn't have too much trouble with it, since turn-based rpgs are kind of a staple in my game roster, but for some reason i had trouble connecting with it. obviously finishing the tutorial would help, but it didn't feel as intuitive as i expected elements are presented in more of a traditional jrpg type of way where there are clear weaknesses you can exploit on enemies if you attack with a certain element. idk if i fully mean this but i think it kind of ruins part of the fun of discovering an enemy's weakness when the game itself just. tells you what it is off the bat also the types are weird in that they have pretty static effects in terms of what they do, the variability in moves is probably also explained further in character profiles but i haven't found how to look at that yet bkjljl - i'm fascinated by the ideas of Quantum and Imaginary types. what does that even mean. how do those manifest - i think it was a bit of a bold move to start the game off with two random characters talking about the world as if things are normal and known, and then having them influence your player character into. being in the plot not that i didn't like kafka and silver wolf. in fact i love both of them a lot. but i also had no context and had no goddamn idea what was going on so i was thrown pretty off-guard first thing which isn't exactly the greatest first impression lol - why is she named March 7th. does anyone know. is there a joke lost in translation or is it because she's like a pseudo-mascot character or. what - speaking of march actually i really want to like her but so far her character reeks of "hi i'm a girl". her skill is called "The Power of Cuteness" and one of her abilities is called "Girl Power" and so far her personality is cute, kind, and kinda stupid. it's a bit much. but she's neat - i have no big opinions on dan heng except he's neat and people keep saying he's the kazuha of star rail bc windy maple leaf boys but they're wrong bc dan heng has a stabby not a slicey and he can only hit one person at a time while kazoo thrives on the multi-hit AoE damage - i do love that the MC's weapon is just. a future baseball bat. that they get to smack people really hard with. no element, just big smack - oh yeah hyv loves to queerbait i guess cuz that wasn't CPR honey the twitter crowd wasn't kidding - i can’t think of anything else rn cuz it’s past midnight but star rail is neat and i like the little train rabbit dog mascot it’s cute and i wanna get past the tutorial hkjbjk

ooh this is a tough question, i don't have any either, pretty much all of my 'talents' are right out there😭 i do feel, for some reason, that will is double jointed. i don't know why it's him and none of the other characters, but he just seems like the sorta guy who if you asked him for one fun fact about himself, he'd do some weird contortion with his fingers. you know who i'm talking about it there's always someone who does that and will absolutely wouldlSDF

if nico was ever asked this question in an interview, he'd say "oh, i speak ____" and he'd just say some language that he's be learning, and every single time it'd be a different language, and people aren't exactly sure whether he's just messing with all of them or whether he actually does know all of these languages, because he has actually spoken to a lot of other fans in other languages

so that for nico, and also that he's literally unbeatable at uno

apollo 100% just has the most random skills up his sleeves, like 2390582 instruments, and he can pretty much do anything other than cook. that's his one weakness. and also driving. he's a horrible driver (yes i know he drives the sun chariot, i saw this one thing once of him being a bad driver bc there aren't any rules when driving the sun chariot and i just think it'd be hilarious for him to suck at drivingSDJF)

leo's weird skill is prob just that he can assemble like a really good paper airplane really really really quickly. or just origami in general, i think he'd love that, and he'd be rlly good at it (plus it's sorta canon, i'm pretty sure he made a paper airplane that flew pretty far across the grand canyon in tlh)

also kayla's incredibly flexible and prob did gymnastics at some point and will occasionally just drop down into the splits for absolutely no reason
