J'espère pouvoir t'annoncer une bonne nouvelle sous peu, et qui sais, peut-être que cela te fera plaisir car tu ne pense pas (comme Antoine), que j'ai en quelques sortes gâché ma vie. J'ai été surprise, car de tous mes proches, c'est sans doute lui qui l'a pris le plus mal. Papa a estimé que j'étais un peu jeune pour déjà me marier, mais il n'a pas insisté quand je lui ai dit que c'était mon souhait.

J'ai heureusement pu rencontrer mes petites soeurs ! Elles sont adorables, surtout Julienne, et elles se ressemblent autant que Cléo et moi. C'est vraiment étrange de les voir et de constater que mes propres enfants auront sensiblement le même âge.

Je voulais conclure en revenant sur ce que tu mentionnais à propos de vos problèmes financiers. Par expérience, je sais que ce n'est pas facile à admettre comme genre de problème. Je suis flattée que tu te confies à moi et je veux que tu saches qu'en cas de besoin, je peux y pourvoir. Je ne pense pas me vanter ou être impudente en affirmant que les affaires familiales vont assez bien pour entretenir le nouveau foyer de mes parents à Alexandrie, les chambres d'Antoine et Cléo à Paris, le pensionnat de Jean-François ou encore les besoins de Sélène (en tous cas jusqu'à son mariage). Sache que tu n'as qu'à demander.

Marc-Antoine « C’est juste que voir Grand-Mère jubiler à ce point, ça m’a mis tellement en colère. »

Marc-Antoine « Je… ça ne semblait pas bien. C’est ta vie, pas la sienne. »

Arsinoé « Antoine… Accepte qu’il n’y avait pas d’autre solution. Tu sais, nous avons discuté avec Ange. Longuement. De toute ce qui allait se passer, de ce que nous voulions tous les deux. Nous sommes satisfaits. »

Marc-Antoine « Alors… C’est vraiment ce que tu veux ? »

Marc-Antoine « Et bien… Je vais retourner à Paris terminer l’école. Puis je reviendrai ici le plus tôt possible. Pour Aurore bien sur, mais aussi parce que Kleber et Raoul veulent créer une liste communiste pour la mairie et que je pense saisir ma chance. Avec mes connaissances à Paris, je vais gagner une vraie légitimité. »

Arsinoé « Avec un tel programme, tu seras député avant trente ans. »

Marc-Antoine « N’exagère rien ! Mais je pense qu’il faut faire une différence, se battre pour ses convictions. Et t’épauler bien sur. Il ne sera jamais dit que je laisse tomber ma grand-sœur, jamais ! C’est ce que Grand-Père Maximilien a toujours fait, veiller sur sa famille, et je vais prendre le relai. »

Shotgun Mary is a Demon-Fighting Catholic Nun. She is a member of the Order of the Cruciform Sword.

Sister Julienne is an Anglican nun of the Order of St. Raymond Nonnatus and is Sister-in-Charge at Nonnatus house. She is a midwife and hospice caregiver.

You don't see many American catholic nuns. But when there is a secret army of demon fighting ladies within the Church, if there is a gun there is bound to be an American. especially when the gun is a shot-gun. She might be more of an loner in her group, but she is key to the functionality of the team.

Sister Julienne

She runs Nonnatus House and fulfills the duties of being a member. Time and again when things looked over for the nuns, she managed to find a way to stick around for her community. She is an experienced midwife and fights for all those in her care--including keeping sister Monica Joan in Popular instead of sending her "into the country" where retired nuns usually go

So rarely does anyone take care of Sister Julienne and provide the support she so freely gives out. One exception being Shelagh, who provides non-judgemental support. Arguably, she is a good ‘all-rounder’ in regards to support - because she can provide spiritual, emotional and practical support so she pretty much has it covered, as long as she can spot its needed. Sister Julienne rarely asks for help though.

And we also see Sister Monica Joan who often provides spiritual insight and wisdom when she’s able to.

I think if Sister Mary Cynthia had been able to stick around then they would have had a beautiful and solid connection and friendship.

I want to wrap Sister Julienne in a blanket, give her all the cuddles and hide her from all the bad in the world😭 Why can’t my precious angel be left alone💔

Nurse Jenny Lee

Lesbian/sapphic: I think she'd be okay with it. It'll take her some adjusting at first, but given time I think she'll be okay

Lesbians who don't use she/her: might not understand it but if it's what works for you she's chill

Bisexual: "wait hold on I think that's me" once you've explained it to her

Pansexual/polysexual/omnisexual/mspec: "there's more than one kind of attraction like this?" She'd be fine with it

Gay/Vincian/Achillean: same as lesbian

Trans: it'll take her some time, but if she adjusted easily from calling Sister Bernadette to calling her Shelagh, I think she won't have any issues not deadnaming you. Might take a little more effort gendering you correctly, but she tries

Nonbinary/agender/genderqueer/any flavor of not binary trans identities: same as trans. Might struggle a little more with understanding genderfluid peeps

Intersex: I'd love to say she'd be accepting. Maybe later seasons Jenny, but not season one. (I think this was s2) but there was a baby born with CF and she looked so uncomfortable. She would take a long time to understand. She'll want to understand, have a million questions about how a baby can be born like this. Of course it's not always visible or obvious that a baby isn't perisex, but if she were to find out after doing her routine checkups on the newborn. Ngl, she'd probably suggest corrective surgery in instances it calls for it. She means well, but doesn't understand how harmful it is. Even after having it explained. Older Jenny (narrator) would probably understand it better

Xenogenders: she wouldn't understand. She might accept it and say you do you, or might look at you strangely and try to limit her interactions but still be polite to your face and then talk about it with Trixie and Cynthia, wondering how someone could identify like that

Same with neopronouns and they/them pronoun users

I get the feeling she'd have an easier time with binary trans people :(

Asexual and aromantic spec ppl: I think she'll find demiromantic and demisexual and latch onto it. This one I'm sure she'd understand and accept

You can get a quick look at the mums, birth locations, if it was on screen, nurses/doctors present, baby number and gender, and any other medical notes. I was doing this for my own fic writing but thought I would share for any others who might find it helpful.

Elle n'est pas restée longtemps, mais assez pour que nous ayons pu parler longuement avec elle. Elle nous a raconté votre vie à Hylewood à renfort de nombreux détails sur le quotidien, et ça m'a donné encore plus envie de voir votre île un jour. Elle s'est aussi montrée très curieuse à notre égard et je lui ai raconté mon enfance, comment se portaient les affaires, et ainsi de suite. Elle a été enchantée par notre jardin, même si à cette période de l'année, il n'est pas si eau. Dommage qu'elle ne soit pas restée jusqu'au printemps, c'est le moment de l'année ou je le trouve le plus magnifique. Mais avec un enfant à la maison, je la comprends parfaitement.

Elle s'est montrée également très intéressée par la jeunesse de mon père, et là j'ai béni Oncle Adelphe de nous avoir abreuvé d'anecdotes plus jeunes. Elle a à peine croisé l'un comme l'autre, d'une part parce que le regard de mon père l'a vaguement transpercée quand nous lui avons présenté, mais aussi parce qu'elle portait ce jour là un voile très épais. J'imagine que mon père ne s'est pas grandement intéressé à elle. Elle a également à peine croisé Adelphe, mais j'ai eu la drôle d'impression qu'elle l'évitait. Ce n'est pas quelqu'un de grossier, alors je n'ai aucun mal à comprendre qu'elle n'ait pas osé avouer que la cicatrice de mon oncle est impressionnante pour quelqu'un qui n'est pas habitué.

Lucrèce « C’est dommage oui. Ma mère n’était pas une femme facile, elle a causé de la misère à ma tante à ce qu’on dit. C’est triste qu’elles n’aient pas pu se réconcilier. »

Ange « Vous pourrez toujours y passer demain, mais je vous préviens, la Tante Jeanne quitte rarement le lit avant dix heures. »

Lucrèce « Je n’y manquerais pas, j’ai personnellement toujours voulu la rencontrer. Vous savez, on jase beaucoup sur la famille française à Hylewood. Eugénie me parlait beaucoup d’Albertine et des enfants. »

Ange « La réciproque est vraie. J’ai été triste d’apprendre pour votre tante, je vous présente toutes mes condoléances. »

Lucrèce « Et moi, pour votre arrière-grand-mère. La nouvelle a été choquante, à Hylewood, tout le monde a entendu parler d’Eugénie Le Bris. J’ai entendu parfois des vieux à qui on demandait comment ils allaient répondre « Pas pire, mais j’ai pas la santé d’Eugénie Le Bris moi ! »

Ange « C’est fou ce qu’elle nous manque. Mais je pense que ça lui aurait fait plaisir de savoir qu’un membre de la famille canadienne a fait le déplacement pour elle. »

Lucrèce « C’est bien normal ! C’était ma… enfin, une cousine que nous connaissions depuis si longtemps... »

Ange « Et dire que personne ici n’a fait le déplacement pour votre tante Eugénie… »

Lucrèce « Ce n’est rien. »

Ange « Mais si, la famille canadienne a envoyé quelqu’un et nous... »

Lucrèce « Oh, vous savez, on ne m’a pas vraiment envoyée. C’est bien plus une initiative personnelle, je me disais que je pourrais rencontrer ma tante et voir un peu de pays. »
