Introducing Josh Hicks: New EP 'Live & Acoustic' Out Now

Introducing Newport native Josh Hicks’ with his soulful new debut EP, entitled 'Live & Acoustic' which is out now independently. Josh Hick's music is soulful and intimate, with comparisons made to the vocal talents of Years and Years lead vocalist Olly Alexander, which is certainly a compliment for the new Welsh Singer Songwriter.

‘JOSH HICKS - Live & Acoustic’ is inspired by Amy Winehouse’s live acoustic performance on the BBC and his passion for the 60s and 70s live studio recordings. It celebrates the support Josh has received from family and friends and guidance from industry experts, musicians and producers since his music career began in 2021.

Josh quickly gained recognition with his debut single and follow-up track, earning a coveted spot on BBC Radio Wales A-List and being added to Apple Music’s prestigious ‘New in Pop’ editorial playlist. His third single featured on BBC Introducing Wales with Adam Walton, in which he compared his sound to soul icons, Michael Jackson and Stevie Wonder.

Josh’s live performances have further solidified his presence in the industry,with the honour of opening for Natalie Imbruglia at Wales’ largest festival ‘In It Together’. During the live interview and performance on BBC Radio Wales with radio presenter and Tik-Tok sensation Bronwen Lewis, she noted similarities in tone to Olly Alexander (Years & Years)

Darkman will be released on 4K Ultra HD + Blu-ray in Steelbook and standard packaging on February 20 via Scream Factory. Sam Raimi (The Evil Dead, Spider-Man) directs the 1990 superhero film.

Raimi co-wrote the script with Ivan Raimi (Army of Darkness), Chuck Pfarrer (The Jackal), Daniel Goldin, and Joshua Goldin. Liam Neeson, Frances McDormand, Colin Friels, Larry Drake, and Ted Raimi star.

Darkman has been newly restored in 4K from the original negative in Dolby Vision, approved by Sam Raimi and director of photography Bill Pope. A preliminary list of special features is below.
