I remember a friend of mine who'd always say she'd see all the theatre shows and was in the school theatre group and was the epitome of a theatre kid and strived to make it her personality but in the same sentence would refuse to ever see something like Phantom of The Opera, Cats, The Nutcracker, because she claimed the stories were completely unreasonable and didn't deserve her attention.

Tim Rice is one of the most respected creators in theatre (Andrew Lloyd Webber I feel has lost a bit after his Cinderella adaptation) and two of the shows were just bible stories with songs! (Joseph and The Amazing Technicolour Dreamcoat, Jesus Christ Superstar) The man worked with Elton John on The Lion King.

Cats was just ALW putting music to poems that already existed.

If we go all the way back to Shakespeare, A Midsomer Night's Dream was the equivalent of a crackfic.

Clearly nothing here is famous for its plot. It's theatre, the plot has always been secondary.

And no I won't address the fact she calls The Nutcracker a play. I had that argument with her once and that was once too many.

It was actually so interesting hearing what had been going on since the beginning with so many of the people in Red Camp. Then in ep 6, finally getting to hear how Graham interacts with his new companion. The Innovator certainly seems like an interesting person, and I'm sure their dynamic will continue to evolve. All the while, Jamie is in the background sowing chaos!

@camlannpod Episode 6 - The Sheep And The Goats & Episode 7 - Under The Hill: All I'd heard about Camlann was its connection to Arthurian tales, so I was not expecting the shift to Greece. It was so good and interesting though! I don't know why, but I hadn't thought about what other stories would have come alive. It certainly makes you think about which other ones might be out there. As soon as Perry started talking about fairies I knew to expect some trickery! They were so adamant about Dai coming back (even though he was not storied) that it made me wonder... Then some of the hints from the fairies... All leading up to to that big reveal!! Ahh!!

@midnightburgr Welcome to the Horizon Part 6 - Back to the Black: I was giggling and kicking my feet for the first 20 minutes... Just let Verge and Deidre be happy!! It's always fun hearing Verge be a badass though. Poor Deidre, constant emotional whiplash over the course of just a few hours. Her whole world just turned upside down several times over. Aside: The music this episode was fantastic!

With the traveling I've been doing recently and the burnout recovery, I've finally been able to get back into it! I, of course, had to re-listen to S1 & S2. It's so good. Ed and Lucy's growth and evolution together, the wild incidents that keep happening, the fantastic music that starts coming in during S2, Michael the archangel getting domesticated... Love it all.

Where The Stars Fell S3 Episodes 20 - 23 & Forgive Me! Crossover - Forgive Where the Stars Fell: The countdown to the rapture has started! The first four episodes of the season cover a lot - Ed learning about new abilities, Lucy finding Joseph's coat of many colours which hides her wings, slime mold comes to life, an unconventional evangelist comes to town, a body swap episode, the Dave Matthews Band incident, a chili cook-off, and a promposal! Gosh I love this town. I also wanted to shout out the crossover with Forgive Me! because it was such a fantastic, fascinating episode. We know Ed has been dealing with a lot since finding out she's the Antichrist, and this was such a great opportunity for her to really voice how's she's feeling about it all, especially the Big Guy.

The way I could talk about wizard fashion for fucking ever,,,, urghhhh,,,

I've already shared my headcanon about how homemade lace plays a big part in pureblood society because the wives are able to stay home and work on them and how darker colours (because they're more difficult to work with) are a higher status symbol. The more lace the more important you are. It's the same with beading. Idk if anyone's seen it but there was a tweet going around where you zoomed in on some jean fabric and some plaid an it was actually all just tiny beads and stuff like that screams pureblood families to me.

They'd wear so much jewellery, the older the better. Anything that represents your house's animals, like Edmund Senior wearing something with owl feathers or the Malfoys wearing something with peacock feathers,,, like a long lavish white cape that is all feathers that pretty much just floats on the floor

Fabric that's enchanted to have stars or constellations on them, I just know the Sinistra's would wear something like that. Part of their fashion being inspired by the fact that so many people consider pureblood families a bit nuts and they just lean into it. Barty Crouch Junior attending a ball of some sort wearing a coat that lowkey looks like a straitjacket and no one bats and eye because that's normal pureblood attire. Evan who similarly has teeth made into cufflinks etc,,,

Canes that are fashion accessories, like Lucius's which also hides his wand. Cygnus who, on the rare occasions that he brings them out in public, matches them to his outfits. (Also you are correct, his mother does beat him with it, but more specifically when Alphard's tattles on him for hitting him with the cane when he's being annoying)

Gender roles to me are less so in the wizarding world than it is in the muggle universe. Long robes that border on dresses, wide, bedazzled collars and long hair for men are not that uncommon. A bit of a heel could probably go on too, if the shoe is fancy enough.

Shoes, jackets, bags, hats etc being made with magical creatures or even other magical beings in general would not surprise me in the slightest (we already see this being a thing with the Black family's interior design)

Also for Slughorn specifically,,,, urgh I love that silly old man. I think he'd wear a lot of suits, a lot of different fabrics for his vests under the suits. They're always a little tight against his large stomach,,, they're also always some kind of fancy pattern. He gets pocket squares from his former students and he's got a little box for them all and he will mention it whenever he wears them!!!!

Honestly, this was a playful coat and I genuinely would 100/10 would wear this irl.

Following that up with this pop of blue in an otherwise pretty dark and earthy-hued colour palette for this dude. As a seasoned (and by seasoned I do mean I have been watching cdramas since the 90s and am very well-pickled in the wuxia genre) watcher, this look is giving 'Nothern Barbarian Princess' with that fur trim and the delicate collar, and this is very greatly helped by the way this scene is shot so romantically and AAAAAA I wish we had more of this look in the drama.

As the dust settled and the ring clattered against the ground, Bianca’s shoulders visibly relaxed and she exhaled slowly.

But Wednesday couldn’t find respite in the defeat of Joseph Crackstone just yet. He was far from their biggest problem, he was just a momentary distraction from the real danger that had been unleashed upon Jericho and Nevermore. And the one left dealing with that danger…

“Enid,” Wednesday breathed and, without another word in Bianca’s direction — honestly, she’d forgotten the siren was there in the flash of panic that stung her veins so harshly it almost blinded her — she burst into a run, whirling through the courtyard and towards the back entrance of the school as though she hadn’t been bleeding out in a crypt less than an hour ago.

Bianca followed her without question. She had to make sure her friends were safe.

Wednesday followed the sounds of the evacuated students’ concerned voices into the woods, coming to a halt at the open wrought iron gate as her dark gaze flickered desperately from face to terrified face in the cluster of students, searching for the only person who truly mattered right now. The dim orange glow of the lamps on either side of the crowd weren’t helping as she searched for even a flash of pink or the moonlight reflecting on locks of silky blonde hair she had grown so used to seeing at her side.

Never in her life had she considered herself religious, or stupid enough to pledge her life to following the rules of beings in the sky or below the ground, but now she threw out silent prayers to whoever might be listening and waiting to claim her eternal soul, begging for Enid to have survived the clash of claws and teeth with Tyler.

Begging for them to do something about it if she hadn’t.

Wednesday knew for sure now that she indeed had a heart, however rotten it might be, as it hammered against her rib cage so hard it was becoming difficult to breathe. As the waves of students parted like the red sea, it stuttered and threatened to stop altogether as anticipation zapped through it.

Only to jump start again when her eye caught sight of a blush coat, however muted the colour may have been amongst the dirt and leaves stuck to it.

Wednesday took a hesitant step forward, no matter how desperate she was to lunge ahead and make sure it was really her, but she didn’t have to. Enid was already running to her, with the other students following close behind her.

As she drew in a deep breath of relief, the cool night air filled her starved lungs and brought life back to them. Her tense body relaxed, and she almost managed a smile as she met Enid’s azure eyes. Enid tossed herself at her, wrapping her arms tight around her waist and squeezing, and Wednesday was almost knocked back with the force of it, but she couldn’t find it in herself to shove the girl away.

In fact, when Enid stepped back on her own after a mere moment, Wednesday ached to feel her arms tight around her again. She was gone far too soon. When they were so close, she could feel Enid’s heart thumping, the warmth of her body seeping through her clothes, and the rapid rise and fall of her chest as she breathed — all things which confirmed Sinclair was truly alive and not some figment of Wednesday’s desperate imagination.

As she regarded Enid and took in the mess of her hair, the leaves still stuck to her even after most had blown off in the wind, and the blood covering her beautiful face — she realised it was her fault. If Enid hadn’t been protecting her, she wouldn’t be covered in blood, and Wednesday couldn’t figure out if it was Tyler’s or her own, but the usually morbid part of her was gone and she didn’t want to know. It was a strange feeling.

So many questions brewed in Wednesday’s mind — How could Enid be stupid enough to risk her life for her? Was she hurt? What happened to Tyler? How could she be stupid enough to risk her life for her? — But she couldn’t ask any of them. Not now.

All she could do now was drag her close again and shove her face into her neck, letting her eyes flutter shut as she basked in the ray of sunshine that was Enid Sinclair. She didn’t care if the whole school was watching. She didn’t care if Enid wouldn’t ever let her hear the end of it. And she definitely didn’t care if anyone found out that her ice cold heart was slowly being melted bit by bit in Enid’s presence.

All she cared about was Enid’s safety.

And she made a silent vow to keep her safe, for as long as Enid would allow.

Unsolved Canadian Cases

April 17, 2024

These are cases of individuals who have gone missing in Canada but may not have enough information to be an entire case post of their own.

James David Kunuk

James David Kunuk was born in 1981 and was 34 years old at the time of his disappearance. He was last seen by family on September 21, 2016 in Whitehorse, Yukon, Canada. He was not reported missing until December 2016 by his landlord.

James had been living in downtown Vancouver, BC, but had recently moved to the Yukon and not yet unpacked his belongings. He did not take his wallet with him.

James did not contact his family for his birthday or over Christmas, which was unusual. Most do not think he moved again, however, he does have family in the Northwest Territories.

James uses multiple aliases including Jay Kunuk, Jimmy Miller, Jay David Springgay, Jimmy Kunuk, James Thrasher, Jeremiah McClusky.

He is Indigenous, 5'10 in height, 181 pounds with a medium build. He has short, straight black hair and brown eyes. He has two tattoos; one on his left forearm of a cross with the word "LIFE" and on his right arm of the word "THUG."

He would be 42 years old today.

Edward Joseph Arcand

Edward Joseph Arcand left his home in Coleman, Alberta driving a 1969 Ford Falcon station wagon on June 8, 1975. He has never been seen since.

On June 15, 1975, one week later, his vehicle was found abandoned 80 km north of Coleman on Highway 940. However, the Doe Network states his car was found in July 1975. Edward is Indigenous, 5'8 in height, 139 pounds with a medium build. Joseph has brown eyes and short black hair, last seen wearing a blue, denim jacket, red shirt and blue, denim pants.

Many speculated he could have been Septic Tank Sam, a man whose remains were discovered in a septic tank outside Tofield, Alberta in 1977. However, Edward was missing 6 teeth and Sam had all his teeth.

Septic Tank Sam would later be identified in June 2021 as a 26 year old Indigenous man named Gordon Sanderson, who had been murdered by a gunshot wound in 1976 or 1977.

Joseph had a hernia scar on his lower abdomen, a dark complexion, and no facial hair at the time. He was 27 years old at the time of his disappearance.

Joseph would be turning 76 years old in 2024.

Glenn Field

Glenn Field was 62 years old when he was last seen in April 2019 by a pilot flying over his campsite at Rolfe Lake, Northwest Territories. Glenn had flown to Rolfe Lake on September 13, 2018 to spend the winter living on the land.

He was then going to make his way back to Yellowknife, Northwest Territories in the spring of 2019. Glenn had three dogs with him and enough food to last the winter.

In October 2019, the RCMP Search and Rescue team did an aerial search of Rolfe Lake, but found no sign of Glenn.

Glenn is 5'10 in height, 170 pounds with grey hair and grey eyes. He has glaucoma and is missing one toe on his left foot and two toes on his right foot.

Glenn would be 67-68 years old in 2024.

Jean Gravel & Jean-Guy Champagne

Jean Gravel was 24 years old and went missing with his coworker Jean-Guy Champagne, who was 25, on July 6, 1972 in Trois-Rivi��res, Québec. Both men were employees of the Rio Bar in downtown.

Both arrived to work early in the evening to work the closing shift. Neither ever returned home and have not been seen since. They were reported missing on July 10, 1972.

Jean Gravel is described as being 5'8 in height, 139 pounds with brown eyes and hair. He was wearing yellow corduroy pants, a beige wool vest, leather black and white running shoes, a gold ring on his left finger, a necklace with assorted colours and a dark blue coat.

Jean-Guy Champagne was described as 5'11 in heigh, 163 pounds with brown eyes and brown hair. He was wearing a green cotton coat, white cotton shirt, green cotton pants, a watch that may have been "Timex" brand, a silver wedding ring on his left finger, black shoes that were size 10-10.5 and has a scar on his chin.

When he appeared to his brothers wearing a new coat of many colours given to him by his father, they resolved to kill him due to their jealousy. Moxxie has Opinions about most of A.ndrew L.loyd Webber's shows.

Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat -- He has most of the Coat of Many Colours memorized. It gets stuck in his head. "Close Every Door" is another good song, but overall, this one is kind of middling. Would he still go to see it if given the chance? Absolutely.

Jesus Christ Superstar -- Honestly? Kind of overrated. There are only a couple of songs that are super recognizable, and while that's not a requirement of a good musical, it's one that's hard to just sing along to and have fun with. Still, it's an interesting take on the story, but not his favourite of his work.

Evita -- There are some iconic songs in Evita, and if it's done right, it can be visually stunning. He likes both the original recording with M.andy P.atinkin and P.atti L.upone because they're iconic, as well as the version with A.ntonino B.anderas and M.adonna. Not his favourite, but it definitely has its time and place.

Tell Me On a Sunday / Song and Dance -- Other than the titular song and "Take That Look Off Your Face," this one is kind of forgettable. It might be better viewed in person, but it's not a fave.

Cats -- Okay, so Moxxie will be the first to admit that he probably shouldn't have suggested that Blitz start with Cats. It's one of those musicals that kind of grows on you the more you experience it, whether that's hearing it, seeing it live, or performing in it. (Sidenote for this one: Moxxie would love to be IN Cats.) It's pretty high up on his list, though it's one of those "wait no, you don't understand; let me explain the thought behind it" sort of things.

Starlight Express -- Honestly, part of the appeal of this one is the fact that the actors are on roller skates. But the fact that it tells the story of sentient trains makes it up there in the weirdness scale. Probably even weirder than Cats.

The Phantom of the Opera -- And here we have Moxxie's all-time favourite. He loves the story, the music, the spectacle. There is not anything about this show that Moxxie does not love. If he wants to be in Cats, he is desperate to be in Phantom. It almost doesn't matter what role, as long as he gets to participate. (He already knows he'll never be able to play Christine, which broke his heart when he first came to terms with that fact.)

Aspects of Love -- This is one of those shows that has some good tracks ("Love Changes Everything" and "Anything But Lonely" come to mind), but some of the subject matter is pretty uncomfortable, considering several of the 'love interests' are seventeen and fourteen, respectively, while the other person is a full-ass adult.

Sunset Boulevard -- A lesser-known gem, honestly. (Even if P.atti L.upone was 100% in the right to sue.) It tells a complete story, unlike a lot of his other musicals (probably partly because it was based on a film), and it has some good music. It's also one of A.LW's few musicals to star a mezzo-soprano, so it gets points for that, too.

Love Never Dies -- Oh boy, okay. This show is a hot mess. For starters, in the original cast recording R.aoul's voice is better than the P.hantom's, which really shouldn't happen. But the whole thing shouldn't exist. It completely ignores the ending of the original, bastardizes characters, and makes a mockery of the original. Yes, okay, some of the songs are pretty damn catchy ("Beauty Underneath," "Devil Take the Hindmost," and "Why Does She Love Me?" are the standouts to Moxxie), but A.LW's cat had the right idea in trying to delete the whole thing, to keep it from completion.

Cinderella -- Originally, when Moxxie heard that there was a new adaptation of Cinderella, he wasn't sure it was needed. But when he heard it was by A.ndrew L.loyd W.ebber, he had to check it out. And he's honestly glad he did. Sure, it's not the best show, but it's fun. (And the young woman who plays the title role in the original recording sounds a little like Stolas' kid...., or that could just be his imagination. Maybe it's just the accent.) The B.roadway version, though...., seems like it was a mess. And the cast and crew deserved better than what they got.
