tonight's flavor of brianrot is: crippling lonely john mactavish

fully animated out during his missions only to become a shell of a man when he's in glasgow. hunkers down in a sparsely furnished apartment, walls bare, with the minimal necessities to hold him over.

the only thing that warms him up is the constant flow of drinks that he downs at the pub. it's a dingy little joint, stuck on some forgotten corner, which makes it the perfect place for john to spend his hard-earned money.

the drinks are good. well, not good, but they dull the itch to call price and have his leave cut short. mutes the constant muttering in the back of his head about his failure to do anything of purpose in his civilian life. eternal solitary confinement it mutters before completely disappearing.

he takes another swig, closing his eyes as it burns down his throat.

manages to miss you sizing him up from the darkest corner.

might not be so solitary after all.

I haven’t seen anybody really talk about it but I like Bruce has some trans swag

Like, okay I know his name change was supposed to be because he wanted to distance himself from the band but let me have my fun.

Bruce changes his name and Clay and Branch immediately start calling him Bruce. John Dory is the only one who still calls him Spruce and even Clay has to correct him bc John has trouble coming to terms with the fact that his brothers have forged their own identities.

AND Bruce was set having one body type (absolutely ripped) because that’s what was expected of him, but after he leaves he finds a life and a body he’s happier in and doesn’t feel the need to change for anyone.

I’m sure I don’t need to dig into the metaphors, Bruce with trans swag!!!
