Hercules: The Legendary Journeys & Young Hercules
Nephew to the God of War. Competes with Discord for the role of Ares' second-in-command. Wants to make a name for himself as a proper War God but seldom succeed with his mischief and conflict stirring.

Episode 2 - "Between Friends (The Treasure Of Zeus - Part 2)"
Hercules walks up, remarking to Iolaus that he 'finally found someone who doesn't know all [his] special moves'. This gets no response as 'Nysus', Jase and Io stand together.
Herc asks Iolaus what his problem is, and Io says he's not the one keeping secrets from his friends. Jason then asks Hercules why he never told them the chalice they were risking their lives to steal belonged to Hera. Hercules knows he's in the wrong and eventually apologizes.
I really liked how direct Jason was about the issue, and how snarky Io was. Iolaus was willing to listen, and he didn't say anything totally uncalled for, but you could tell he was hurt by the deception. I wonder if Hercules (a demigod) doesn't really understand how much harder it is for someone like Iolaus (a mortal) to keep up with him when he's messing with god stuff, or that Io is always sort of inherently in more danger, and thus not telling him the whole story prevents him from making an informed decision. (Although I think, based on what we saw in the episode prior, Herc would argue he never asked them to come, and Io and Jason would probably have followed Herc regardless because they're his friends.)
Also can we talk about how Herc walked up to the whole group specifically talking to Iolaus, and when he was confused by the silence, again directly addressed Iolaus? Like, he looks between the three of them when waving, but says "Iolaus?". Besties.
And finally I was once again somewhat distracted by Joel in this scene. Obviously Strife is pleased his plan is working, but I love the approving looks he gives Io while they complain to Herc.

it remains an absolute tragedy that strife was a hercules exclusive character while most other olympians in the series had xena crossovers at some point
