I purchased an old Young Hercules press kit on eBay!

Interestingly (why is illuminated, perhaps by the constant references to HTLJ, XWP, and Kull in the texts) they included some promo stuff for Hercules and Kull as well. The Kull promo has a really weird shiny texture that they're very proud of!

It came with twelve 35mm slides! I might try to get prints made. I held them up to the window so you could get an idea of what images they are.

I was happy to get one with just Dean/Iolaus, and so many group shots and Ryan/Hercules. Also very happy to get one with Meighan/Discord. I'd like to find one with Joel/Strife maybe. :)

There was quite a bit of text included about the movie and the show.

I recently rediscovered that I have this pretty nice collection of autographs. I know I have a couple more of Hugh Jackman and Patrick Stewart, my favorite actors, framed. Xena, Stargate Atlantis, and Prison Break (just season one) are some of my favorite shows so it’s a real treat to find these.

I also have 44 of Antony Starr and some pretty sweet ones of Gal Gadot, Christopher Meloni, and Mariska Hargitay, but I remembered those so it’s not an exciting discovery.

After a couple of decades of collecting, you don’t even remember what you have anymore.

DFP Actors August: Meighan Desmond

NZ actors tend to end up in a lot of the same shows over the years it seems. I have a lot of fun spotting familiar faces, so I thought this would be a fun and silly little project, seeing which actors have repeatedly been in things that Deano was also in (not necessarily alongside). Just a bit of trivia. Enjoy!

Hercules: The Legendary Journeys (1995-1998/1997-1999)

Dean played a few different characters on this show: Iloran - S1E12 “The Gauntlet” Young Iolaus - S4E3 “Regrets… I’ve Had a Few”, S4E11 “Medea Culpa” and S4E20 “Twilight”. Ruun - S4E7 “Prodigal Sister”

Meighan played Discord in 7 episodes: S4E6 "Two Men and a Baby" S4E9 "If I Had a Hammer" S4E16 "Porkules" S4E17 "One Fowl Day" S5E18 "Love on the Rocks" S5E20 "Fade Out" S6E7 "A Wicked Good Time"

I am in complete love with Discord's aesthetics across the Hercules/Xena shows/movies. I just think she's so pretty, in a sort of cute-bratty-evil-vampire kind of way. Ugh. (But I'm also super fond of Aphrodite. I'm a simp for hot girls, idk what to tell you.)

Shortland Street (1996/1994-1996)

Dean played Nurse Harry Martin in 1996. Meighan played Lulu Chatfield (apparently 1994-1996? She was in one of the episodes I found of Dean's so for sure 1996).

Xena: Warrior Princess (1996,2000/1997-2000)

Dean played two roles: Homer/Orion - S1E13 “Athens City Academy of the Performing Bards” Wiglaf - S6E9 “Return of the Valkyrie”

Meighan played Discord in 4 episodes: S3E4 "The Deliverer", S4E19 "Takes One to Know One", S5E15 "Married with Fishsticks" and S5E22 "Motherhood" -- and also Sturgina in episode S5E15 "Married with Fishsticks". (Okay, I haven't watched it yet but "Married with Fishsticks" sounds hilarious.)

Young Hercules (1998)

(This is the TV movie that preceded the Young Hercules TV show.) Dean played Young Iolaus. Meighan played Discord. Look at those pigtails. WHAT?

Young Hercules (1998-1999)

Dean played one of the main characters, Young Iolaus, in 46 of the 50 episodes. Meighan played (you guessed it!) Discord in 7 episodes, "Inn Trouble", "Battle Lines: Part 2", "Ares on Trial", "A Serpent's Tooth", "Con Ares", "The Prize" and "Mila".

IMDB claims Meighan is in "When Love Comes" (a 1998 film starring Dean) but I own the DVD and she's not listed in the credits from what I could see, nor did I remember her being in it, nor could I find her when I spent far too long looking for her in it while prepping this post. (I was actually excited when I saw her listed for it.) She's credited as "Shelley" on IMDB but idek who that would be or when in the film - if anyone knows, please tell me haha.
