Railway Workers have paid sick days - Joe Biden got it done.

Did tumblr miss that? I've seen a couple people saying that Biden didn't stand up for the railway workers. When the railway workers were threatening to strike just before Christmas 2022, Biden cooperated with legislation that broke the strike and did NOT give railway workers their sick days. People were upset about that, but it turned out Biden never quit working on the issue.

A few months later, Biden's administration announced that they had kept working on the issue behind the scenes, out of the public eye. Railway workers got their paid sick days AND Biden kept the economy open during the Christmas season.

“We’re thankful that the Biden administration played the long game on sick days and stuck with us for months after Congress imposed our updated national agreement,” [Railroad Dept Director] Russo said. “Without making a big show of it, Joe Biden and members of his administration in the Transportation and Labor departments have been working continuously to get guaranteed paid sick days for all railroad workers.

Biden doesn't do grandstanding. He just gets the job done. He ought to blow his own horn a bit more; most people don't realize just how much good he's done this country.

The figure is surprising, given that Donald Trump has repeatedly taken credit for repealing federal abortion protections.

Nearly 20% of voters blame President Joe Biden for the Supreme Court’s decision to repeal Roe v. Wade in 2022, according to a poll released Monday ― even though former President Donald Trump has repeatedly taken credit for overturning Roe, given that he appointed three conservative Supreme Court justices who were central to the decision.

The survey, conducted by The New York Times, Siena College and The Philadelphia Inquirer, found that 17% of registered voters in six swing states believe Biden has “a lot of responsibility” or “some responsibility” for ending the constitutional right to abortion. Just over 55% of respondents said Trump has “some responsibility” or “a lot of responsibility” for overturning Roe.

Thanks! Yeah, Democrats need to rally around Biden rather than ripping him a new one. I swear, people see the Republicans kissing Trump's ass, and then hear BOTH the Republicans and Democrats ragging on Biden, and figure that Trump has more support so he must be the better candidate. Especially if they're listening to rightwing news spin. People NEED to hear Democrats talking about all the good things Biden has done. He's been a very effective president and he's taking time to put things in place right, rather than in a way that can be undone as soon as the fascists take office. He not only stopped Trump, but he's putting things in place that will slow down the destruction next time (god forbid) we get a fascist elected.

President Biden is just following what he's supposed to do as the president of the imperialiat US. not that it excuses him but unless we abolish the electoral college people like him, career politicians who will do what they are 'supposed to do' bc they've been working years to get in this position and will not be someone that doesn't do exactly what the wealthy donors and other career politicians expect of them.

Project 2025 doesn't call for a career politician who will play by the rules.

It calls for anyone right wing who gets the seat to usher in a new, much more dangerous USA.

They want trans people made illegal nationally, abortion banned nationally, LGBT/PoC/women's rights taken back to the dark ages, voting rights for most of us taken away, a much more reactionary United States in the international politics, a more violent and oppresaive county than moat of us comprehend.
