Asher Goodwin: "We were a group of about 7 people on our way to Friday dinner. Me and my friend were wearing yarmulkes, because that's what we normally do... then suddenly a man came running from behind and hit us. First he hit Ilan and then me, with a 1 liter glass bottle... he broke the bottle on my neck/throat."
Moav Vardi [news anchor/journalist]: "It happened two months ago in the heart of America. Asher Goodwin and Ilan Gordon, two Jewish students of the university of Pittsburgh in Pennsylvania, were wearing yarmulkes because they were on their way to the local Beit Hillel"
Ilan Gordon: "I got the full impact, so I had a concussion and my teeth got a little messed up"
Vardi: "Beyond the concussion, Ilan also needed to undergo surgery following injury to the gums. It is a miracle that Asher, whose throat was cut, came out of this incident the way he did (alive and without severe injuries)
[...] Unfortunately, the attack against Asher and Ilan hasn't been a rare occasion in the past year. Soon after October 7th, after Israel started the war against Hamas in Gaza, antisemetic incidents on American college campuses, and in general throughout the United States, have become a real epidemic"

guys, genuine question. (jews only)
im nervous about attending my temples services more often due to the rising antisemitism, and im considering putting off the completion of my conversion for a few years (when hopefully this calms down or is resolved, G-d willing)
can i still consider myself jewish if i put it off, should i just try to essentially speed run the process, what should i do?? i have genuinely no clue. i do have an anxiety disorder, for the record, so that impacts my ability to attend as often as id like
mostly looking for INFORMATION to help me make a decision, but advice is welcome (i will be asking the rabbi also, but she will likely say i should just push through (and before you ask why not just take that and go read the last sentence of the above paragraph))
UPDATE: thank you for all the replies! i have decided i will put it off for a few months (3-4) and work through this in therapy as best i can and then push through until completion :)

Efforts to market homes in Israel and “stolen” land in West Bank to Jewish Americans are continuing to spark protests across North America, with the latest angry confrontations happening outside a synagogue in one of Los Angeles’s most prominent Jewish neighborhoods.

Masks were already illegal in Virginia for many decades before the hysteria of lockdownitis. And for the exact reason here- KKK intimidation and violence – Hamastitutes are an identical phenomenon. Masks SHOULD BE ILLEGAL in public especially at “protests” that aren’t even against the government. It’s not as if they have any medical value in these situations and the evidence has come to show that they actually have deleterious effects that far outweigh any perceived benefits.

This reaction to the overthrow of Mossadegh was atypical. The new U.S.-backed regime in Iran, reasoned The Jewish Floridian, appeared fascistic and backwards, lacked Mossadegh’s popular appeal, would likely worsen conditions for Iranian Jews and divert U.S. financial aid better used for Israel.

Y’all, I got a bit of a dilemma. So I’m drawing one of my characters from my upcoming webcomic. Her name is Jennifer Hoffman but on the reality show she’s in, she took on the name “Iliana”. This is because so employers don’t conduct a background check and figure out that she was on a drama filled reality series lolz
Anyways, Iliana is Jewish American (born n raised in Manhattan). I’m a bit scared that I made her nose a bit big as I don’t want it to look like an antisemitic caricature. For anyone who is of Jewish descent (full or partial), can you please tell me if I made her nose too big. The drawing isn’t finished yet but yeah
Please be constructive when critiquing
Ok that’s all, bye
