SPEAK- 2004 ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Melinda (Kristen Stewart) is struggling to deal with the trauma of being raped at a party the year before. She called the cops but got scared at the last moment and left, this caused all her "friends" to turn on her.
Depressed and alone, Melinda finds solace in her new art class with the one teacher who cares (Steve Zahn). She is selectively mute and her family dont understand why she wont talk to them anymore...
Excellent 2000's indie film/drama. Kristen Stewart is excellent as Melinda, loved her character, was really rooting for her. Her coming to terms with what happened to her and taking control of her life again was done well. Loved the ending to the film also.
Speak is Kristen Stewart's first leading role.
Although the film is quite sombre its also very funny at points. Great teen drama. Will rewatch.
Directed by Jessica Sharzer.

read my thought below (may contain spoiler):
THIS. GOTTA. BE. ONE. OF. THE. MOST. THRILLING. MOVIES. I. HAVE. EVER. WATCHED! seriously, Nerve is like someone took my everyday thrill of a social media feed, injected it with adrenaline, and set it loose on the big screen. it’s the ultimate combo of a pulse-pounding plot, gorgeous lighting, and edge-of-your-seat suspense that hooks me right from the start and never lets go. honestly, I didn’t even take a bathroom break – that’s how gripping this movie was. (yep, too much info, but this film deserves the confession!) let’s talk about the concept: an underground online dare game where people are players or watchers, and as the dares get riskier, so does the payout. it’s basically a social experiment on hyper-drive. honestly, it gave me big Pokémon Go vibes, but instead of finding cute little creatures, players here are thrown into real-life dares, as everyone around them is glued to their screens, watching the madness unfold. the digital, neon lighting palette? on point! it adds this incredible, almost unreal vibe that suits the high-stakes tech world the movie plays in. it’s like the movie dared the lighting team to bring out the energy of the online dares, and they delivered.
now, Emma Roberts and Dave Franco – massive props! they nailed their roles. Vee’s relatable “good girl stepping out of her comfort zone” mixed with Ian’s mystery man vibe is pure gold. their chemistry? electric. and it’s not just the two leads – the whole cast somehow makes this wild concept feel so real and relatable. I was all in, invested in every single twist and risky dare, and trust me, there’s no shortage of nail-biting moments. the suspense is a beast in Nerve. sure, I might have a guess about where it’s headed, but even then, the way it’s all laid out keeps me glued to the screen. I felt like I was right there with them, heart racing and hands clinging to the armrest. the entire setup just screams “don’t look away, or you’ll miss something epic!” I loved that it captures how technology messes with us – it makes me think about how we’re all glued to our screens and where that can take us if we’re not careful. like I said, Pokémon Go vibes, but with a wild edge.

Presenti Henry Golding (Sean Townsend), Andrew Rannells (Darren), Bashir Salahuddin (detective Summerville), Joshua Satine (Miles Smothers) e Kelly McCormack. Completano l'elenco due new entry speciali i nostri Elena Sofia Ricci e Michele Morrone. Stando all'attrice 39enne, il sequel alzerà l'asticella. "È una di quelle cose in cui sulla carta pensi: 'Questo è assolutamente folle. Cosa stiamo facendo?' E poi all'improvviso Paul è lì, con un completo a tre pezzi e Blake è lì, e persino il direttore della fotografia è tornato e sembrava: 'Ok, stiamo facendo questo film molto strano, rischioso, molto contorto, con una trama pesante'." A Simple Favor 2 Gets Fancy in Capri
Remember that twisty, hilarious movie "A Simple Favor" with Anna Kendrick and Blake Lively? Well, get ready for another round of murder, mayhem, and maybe some overpriced wedding cake, because a sequel is officially happening! Mark your calendars and get your fascinators ready, because things are about to get wild in Capri, Italy. Deadline spilled the tea two years ago that a sequel was brewing, but now it's officially official. Amazon MGM Studios is bringing the whole gang back together, including director Paul Feig and the original cast. That means we get to see Anna Kendrick reprise her role as the quirky Stephanie Smothers, and Blake Lively back as the seemingly perfect Emily Nelson. Henry Golding (hello, eye candy!), Andrew Rannells, Bashir Salahuddin, Joshua Satine, Ian Ho, and Kelly McCormack are also returning, so basically, it's gonna be a party. Lionsgate Crashes the Wedding Remember that crazy rich ex-husband from the first movie? Lionsgate is co-producing this sequel, so get ready for some serious high-society drama. The first movie made a killing at the box office, raking in a cool $97 million, so it's no surprise they're jumping back on board. Cameras are already rolling this spring, and the plan is to release the movie on Amazon Prime Video in a whopping 240 countries! This time around, Stephanie and Emily are ditching the suburbs and jetting off to the stunning island of Capri for Emily's extravagant wedding to a rich Italian businessman. Sounds fancy, right? Wrong! Because with these two, things never go according to plan. Expect murder, betrayal, and enough plot twists to make your head spin. Think "The Talented Mr. Ripley" meets "Wedding Crashers," with a dash of "Bridesmaids" thrown in for good measure. The Dream Team Behind the Scenes The script is being penned by Jessica Sharzer, who wrote the first movie, so you know the witty dialogue and killer twists will be on point. Oscar-nominated director Paul Feig is back in the driver's seat, so expect his signature blend of humor and suspense. Basically, this sequel has all the makings of a major hit. While we wait for the wedding bells (and inevitable drama) to ring out in Capri, here's what the cast has been up to: - Anna Kendrick: This multi-talented actress is making her directorial debut with the Netflix film "Woman of the Hour," while also starring in and producing the movie. - Blake Lively: She's starring in the film adaptation of the bestselling novel "It Ends With Us," and is also gearing up to make her feature directorial debut. - Henry Golding: This heartthrob is currently filming season two of Hulu's "Nine Perfect Strangers." - Basically, this cast is booked and busy, but they all cleared their schedules for a trip to Capri (and maybe a little on-screen murder). Mark Your Calendars, Drama Lovers! "A Simple Favor 2" is shaping up to be an epic follow-up to the first film. With its killer cast, hilarious script, and exotic location, this movie is a must-watch for fans of dark comedies and anyone who appreciates a good plot twist (or ten). Keep an eye out for more updates, and get ready to witness the return of Stephanie and Emily! (Source: Deadline) https://youtu.be/SUEFYZTFXkY Read the full article

Are you a watcher or a player?
There are scenes that made my palms sweat so of course I have no choice but to love this film.
The story impressively delves into an addictive social media subculture that shapes people’s behaviour online and in real life (even though the ending is a bit too neat & tidy for my tastes).
But it’s the transformative journey of the hero, built upon each successive game-dare, that really sticks with me as a hallmark of the story and is what makes it great. 🤘🖤

A Simple Favor (2018, Paul Feig)
22/12/2023
A Simple Favor is a 2018 film directed by Paul Feig.
The film, starring Anna Kendrick and Blake Lively, is the film adaptation of the 2017 novel A Simple Favor by Darcey Bell.
Stephanie Smothers is a widowed single mother who runs a recipe vlog.
One day Emily calls her friend and tells her that she has a serious problem at work, so she asks Stephanie to babysit Nicky while she is busy, because Sean has flown to London to assist his mother, who is hospitalized with a fractured femur. After two days in which Emily gives no news and does not answer her calls, a worried Stephanie contacts her employer, Dennis Nylon, who hastily informs her that Emily is in Miami.
A fan of Stephanie's blog reports seeing Emily at a gas station in Michigan, then alerts the police who actually find the car near a summer camp and Emily's body drowned in the nearby lake. Detective Summerville, who continues the investigation, reveals to Stephanie that the autopsy on Emily found severe liver damage, a large amount of heroin in her body, and puncture marks in her arm and between her toes. Added to this, Sean recently took out a $4 million life insurance policy on Emily.
Emily is arrested after being hit by a car driven by Stephanie's friend, who was watching the live stream.
The final text explains that Emily was sentenced to 20 years in prison; that Sean's second novel became a New York Times bestseller and that he is a successful professor at Berkeley; Stephanie's vlog reached a million followers and turned into a morning show, and she also became a part-time private detective. Emily is in prison and winning a basketball game.
Filming of the film began on August 14, 2017 in Toronto.
In the United States the film was banned for children under 17 due to the presence of "sexual content, nudity, bad language, drug use and violence".
On the aggregator Rotten Tomatoes the film received 85% positive professional reviews with an average rating of 6.9 out of 10 based on 204 reviews, while on Metacritic it obtained a score of 67 out of 100 based on 40 reviews.
In May 2022 Prime Video announced the start of production of the sequel; the direction will always be entrusted to Paul Feig, Blake Lively and Anna Kendrick will return to the cast, while the screenplay will be written by Jessica Sharzer, who will also cover the role of producer together with Feig.
