REVIEW
Graham: The Broken Duke by by Jess Michaels
An Illustrated Romance with photos by Jenn LeBlanc
The 1797 Club #3
This series grabbed me from book one and kept me interested throughout. Seeing this book come up on NetGalley had me hoping for a copy immediately because this is the only book I managed not to find a copy of. So, when I an illustrated copy was listed for review purposes I clicked the button and then hoped and prayed for a copy to be bequeathed to me.
Graham is one of the 1797 Club – a group of ten young men that forged an alliance in their early teens – the club was to provide support in any and all ways as they matured and eventually became Dukes. The stories tell of their pasts, their friendships and how they come to find their life partners.
We meet up with Graham in a pub drinking away his sorrows. Two of his friends come to draw him out of the doldrums he has wallowed in for two months. He is feeling pain of betrayal at the hands of one of his brothers – a dlub-brother who “stole” his fiance of seven years – and stole her in a way that has society gossiping and staring if and when he is out and about in it. The loss of his  friend might hurt him more than the loss of his fiance, if he is honest with himself.
So, off Graham goes to the theater with a preference to not watch the show but to return to the pub instead when a vision walks out on stage and he is smitten.
This is a story of Graham being attracted to two women from opposite social statuses and being in conflict with himself over this fact. It is also the story of the woman who is both of these women and her feelings while being pursued by a man who wants both of her personas...and then feeling jealous of one or the other of those women when she is in the garb of the other. This story includes topics of abuse, romance, friendship, murder and more. It has some surprises and held  my interest throughout.
Did I like this book? Definitely
Did I enjoy the illustrations? Yes
Would I like to read more books by this author? Without a doubt!
Thank you to NetGalley and The Passionate Pen for the ARC – This is my honest review.
5 Stars

The thrill of walking the boards and hearing the applause of those who watch her is the most exciting experience of her life.
Until Graham Everly, Duke of Northfield comes into her life. He is broken after the humiliating loss of his longtime fiancé to his supposed best friend and they enter into a lusty affair which sets her body on fire. Graham has no idea why he’s so attracted to both the bespectacled, prickly Adelaide and the passionate Lydia, but soon he is caught in a dance with them both and torn between which future he wants to pursue.
When Graham finds out Adelaide’s secret identity will he be able to accept both parts of her? And will he be able to save her from a lurking danger that neither of them could have ever foreseen?

My mom would like me to use this blog to promote her new book The Spare and the Heir! the coolest thing about this book, is that it's the First-Ever Fully Illustrated Gay Romance Novel and it’s not just like two gay men one of them is Gay and the other one is Bi (there’s also a Gray-Asexual woman so *wink* *wink*), My mom (Jenn LeBlanc) Wrote the whole thing and took all the pictures and I’m very very proud of her so y’all should check it out.
(Warning though it’s not PG in any way. there’s lot’s of frickle frackle).

Okay so did we all cry a little when each cast member started entering the place where they shoot friends?
The FRIENDS REUNION was so so pretty I believe because we all get back to the days when we came from school to watch this show or those days when we missed school and run to see the show.
I know, I know many get opinions that there are better shows but actually, FRIENDS will never stop being FRIENDS. Finding out Jennifer Aniston had a crush on David Schwimmer and David on Jenn made us understand the way they get along so good and why it hurt when they couldn't be together.
I still believe Matt LeBlanc is the cutest being as Joey or being Matt that guy looks wholesome.
OHHHHH MY GOD! Let's not take for granted Janice, Maggie Wheeler gave us this annoying laughter and this unique way to say oh my god!
What I would change about the reunion?
The fashion show part: I don't care about Justin Beiber, Cara Delevingne, and Cindy Crawford at the moment. I would have like to see the actual cast in the costumes just as Matt did at the end with "all Chandler clothes".
But that is just my personal opinion. If you havent seen it yet, this is your call to do it.

Lol what's wrong with romancing the inventor? I've never heard of it and I love hearing people Go Off about books. Are there many ff books that youd reccomend people specifically not read?
*cracks knuckles* HO BOY this is gonna be petty
So to start off, Gail Carriger is Extremely Popular. She writes these... Quirky Steampunk(??) books  and she’s got this whole Quirky Steampunk image that is already lowkey irritating to me but hey, you do you, if it makes you happy. But people kept going on and on about her books and I saw one of them was f/f so i thought “alright, i keep hearing about this one, it must be good?”
ITS NOT. ITS NOT GOOD. The heroine is this bland characterless husk that is constantly, and I mean CONSTANTLY, described as extremely thin and white and ~beautiful~ by everyone, which again, irritating. All the vampires just want her, but oh no, shes but a measly maid! Honestly, the book starts of her being so horny for getting turned into vampire, i thought it was gonna be great, but it didnt really go anywhere, at least at the point where i had to drop the book.
There is so much sexual harassment and assault! She gets constantly pawed at which was so gross!! The love interest was interesting in theory (a butch(??) mad scientist lady, or at least gail carriger’s idea of what a butch is lmao) but again, so bland. There was no chemistry between them either!!
But! What pissed me off the most was when the heroine from a previous series shows up and the protag of this one just mentally goes OFF about her. There's a scene where the protag, repeatedly described as beautiful and skinny and white meets the protag from the previous series and she describes her as 'too loud and too big with too big a nose and dark features' with this nasty tone and I was like 'oh you just described me'. She made a big deal of having a fat heroine in her series, and then she writes another heroine from a later series insult and fatshame her for her looks. What in the Actual Fuck!!!!!!!!! Fuck off!!! Also theres a thing in this series that italians have no soul(????????????), which uh, idk if you know anything about racial politics of europe, but its REALLY not a great look for a super pale white brit to write into her series that italians have no soul. Fucking yikes gail carriger, what the fuck
I dropped the book immediately after this because i was already bored and frustrated with everything else and then this bullshit!! And ever since then, any mention of this author makes me grit my teeth
Anyway here’s more f/f books Id warn people about:
Stormsong by CL Polk: read my review of the first book and tell me if you think the villainous sister is not only redeemable, but also deserving of her own book
Her Lady's Honor by Renée Dahlia: this is my biggest disappointment of this year. It promised a ww1 vet nurse and her captains daughter falling in love, and gave me miserable story with people being assholes to each other, and a terrifyingly blase treatment of violent parental abuse. I made it about 25% in before I had to bail
The Lady and Her Secret Lover by Jenn LeBlanc: One of the most gorgeous covers slapped on probably THE most triggering book Ive ever read. I kept reading because I couldnt believe all the horrific things happening in this book. Read my review for more info
Mrs. Martin’s Incomparable Adventure by Courtney Milan: in my experience, courtney milan’s books are on a VERY slippery sliding scale of quality, and this was a rock bottom. Written as a “stick it to the patriarchy, yeehaw!” “fun adventure”, it managed to make me literally sick with anxiety. Im not joking, this book made me so anxious my stomach started hurting. This book made me FURIOUS. Again, read my review for more details

A Woman of the Sea
Read the Author's Forward now on Wattpad. Chapter One drops on February 8th at noon, and chapters will follow every Friday.
Jessie is a twenty first century kinda gal. She's got a newly minted university degree and a plane ticket to Paris. The plan? Celebrate graduation with a week in the City of Love, drink some cheap French wine and kiss as many French girls (or boys, she's not picky) as she can.
Only, she never quite makes it. Mid-Atlantic, a mysterious accident sends Jessie hurtling to what should be a watery grave. Rescued from the ocean, Jessie is lucky to be alive. Only problem? The crew of the ship she's on is convinced it's sailing vessel that just narrowly missed out on participating in the Battle of Trafalgar.
Stuck in Regency-era England, Jessie is left with no choice but to enter into the services of as a maid and companion in return for what shelter her new employer can provide, and resign herself to a life of quiet servitude and forever hiding her sexuality.
What she didn't count on was that her new boss would be Margaret Goodenough - the world famous authoress whose yet-to-be-completed novel was the first lesbian kiss in the history of British Literature, and a clever woman. Clever enough to know her new servant has a secret.
Now Jessie is caught. Margaret's own perception of her place in society is transforming, the text of her novel is slowly changing, and Margaret herself is finally unafraid to embrace her own Sapphic desires. Margaret - and her main characters - are turning into irresistibly headstrong and modern women. Jessie must tread the tenuous line between finding her own happiness in a world where she is alone, and accidentally changing the course of history.
Should Jessie suppress the manuscript, or is her duty to the woman she's learning to love? What is a twenty first century gal to do?

are the stars friend Worried their reunion show would be a bomb? This is what a tabloid is reporting. gossip police examines.
‘Friends’ cast scared reunion will be a ‘major flop’?
a recent version of national interrogator Raising Some Concerns Among ’90s Sitcom Fans friend. According to the tabloids, the cast is unsure about how fans will take their age. “There is some serious concern, especially knowing that they will be judged based on their looks,” an insider told the tabloid. The source continues, emphasizing that Jennifer Aniston and David Schwimmer’s looks are fine, “Matt LeBlanc, Lisa Kudrow and of course Matthew Perry are battling the aging process and they are camera shy these days for that reason. Huh.”
That’s not the only reason artists are concerned, the tabloids insist. From what has been shared about the reunion, the show will not be scripted, and they will not be in character for most of the show. According to the magazine, the unscripted nature of the reunion show has made the actors feel uncomfortable. The insider claims, “They are concerned about the format being completely unpublished as most of them have no experience with it.”
In the end, the tabloids claim that the co-stars are not excited to work together again. The insider told the tabloid that the actors are only agreeing to the show because “it’s impossible to pass a $2.5 million check.” Regardless of the money, the source admits that the stars are “far from happy campers, which is why — with the exception of Courtney Cox and Jenn — you rarely, if ever, see them together.”
The ‘Friends’ Reunion Isn’t Going To Be A Flop
So, are the stars friend Really worried that their reunion will flop? it’s unlikely.
First, the insider is a suspect at best. The alleged source is only conjecture based on public knowledge and does not provide any anecdotal information to suggest that there is any reason to be concerned. The way the source is speculating about the looks of the cast is highly objectionable and completely baseless. As the article suggests, the cast has been far from “camera shy,” and many of them have made a lot of on-camera appearances in recent years. The tabloids clearly haven’t done their research.
In the end, while the six sitcom stars clearly lead their lives with busy schedules, they haven’t stayed away from each other. For example, Insider doesn’t even bother to mention how often Lisa Kudrow is seen with Jennifer Aniston and Courteney Cox. One can easily scroll through the Instagram profiles of the actors and see that there is no tension there.
Finally, the main point of the article: Will the show bomb? It is almost impossible for this reunion to fail. The much-anticipated reunion will reunite on one of the most popular sitcoms ever aired. The audience is definitely there, and they will definitely eat it once it’s released. It’s honestly ridiculous to suggest that the reunion show has any concerns about viewers not coming.
Tabloids on the Flop
apart from this national interrogator It’s hard to believe when it comes to stories of shows or movies or albums flopping. Not long ago, the tabloids reported that Jimmy Fallon’s show ratings had gone down the toilet, which was simply not true. gossip police The tabloids also dismissed claims that Miley Cyrus was desperate after her new album “Tanked”.

June Wrap Up
June was a very good month with some very good reads. I managed to read 10 books (plus a secret project for a friend). In total I read 3257 pages.I still feel a bit slumpy and there were times where I found myself avoiding reading, although a few books did help with this.
The Rosie Project (Don Tillman #1) by Graeme Simsion
This is the story of Don, who is in search of the ideal wife, using scientific methods. The story is told from his POV and while its never directly said, he has Asperger’s. I liked this and it lived up to the good reviews. I found all the characters interesting (Don’s though processes were interesting, Rosie felt very genuine and Don's best friend is the worst) and the story was  quirky and fun (although the outcome of the romance was fairly predictable).  3/5
Gates of Thread and Stone (Gates of Thread and Stone #1) by Lori M, Lee
A YA fantasy series set in an almost dystopian world. I really enjoyed this. It was fast past and interesting, well-written and full of good quality world building and characters. I will definitely be picking up the rest of the series. 4/5
Not Just Jane: Rediscovering Seven Amazing Women Writers Who Transformed British Literature by Shelley DeWees
A look at seven females authors who influenced the literary world but who are not as celebrated as Jane Austen. This was interesting if a bit dry in places. Some of the authors I had heard of and even read and some were completely new to me. I’ve made some notes of books to pick up. 3/5
Always and Forever, Lara Jean (To All the Boys I've Loved Before #3) by Jenny Han
Wrap up to the series. I really enjoyed this and read it in a about a day. It was what I needed at that time and was a fantastic ending to the series. It wrapped up a fair few things and we got to see Lara Jean grow as character. 4/5
When Dimple Met Rishi by Sandhya Menon
This was completely worth the hype it’s been receiving. I couldn’t stop reading it. It was adorable and charming and just what was needed at the time. I liked that DImple was a smart female character who knows what she wants in life. Rishi was just adorable. The romance did come a bit quick but there are a few time jumps so I can excuse that easily. I can’t wait to see what Sandhya Menon brings out next. 4/5
The Ghost Bride by Yangsze Choo
This months VF pick. This was a historical paranormal romance. I have to say this gave me Spirited Away vibes. I liked it, However there were issues. The main character was a bit bland and wishy-washy. I didn’t get the relationship between her and one of the characters. My favourite character was only in it for brief periods. Frankly had it not been for that character, I would have probably DNF’d. In terms of world building, it was very interesting and I enjoyed looking into the Malaysian culture. 3/5
I See You by Clare Mackintosh
I’m gonna preface this by saying I am a massive wimp. I rarely read or watch anything in the horror genre. I love true crime, strangely. But horror, nope! This was possibly the creepiest thing I’ve ever read. It was well written and had me guessing the whole way through with some excellent twists. It played on all of my fears and I will definitely be picking up other books by the author. 4/5
Dragons of Autumn Twilight (Dragonlance: Chronicles, #1) by Margaret Weis and Tracy Hickman
This is an absolute classic in D&D fiction. I’ve read it several times now and it just improves every time I pick it up. It contains all the standard D&D tropes and I just love it. Its a bit of a comfort read at this point. 5/5
Abracadaver (Esther Diamond, #7) by Laura Resnick
This is an urban paranormal series about an actress who accidentally discovers the paranormal truth about the world and tries to help save it with a band of misfits. I love it.Its fun and fast paced and interesting. I’m now up to date with the series with no idea if there will be any more books. 4/5
The Duke and The Domina : Warrick The Ruination of Grayson Danforth (Lords of Time #3) by Jenn LeBlanc
This was bad. Just bad. Not something I will be continuing. 2/5
