The Disappointment Of Philippine Basketball
2013 and 2014 were great years for Philippine Basketball. We beat South Korea and finished second in Asia. Then we went on to shock a the world in the FIBA World Cup 2014. I thought to myself back then, "the only way for Philippine Basketball is up"... and I was wrong.
Watching the Philippines in this year's FIBA World Cup made me feel like Philippine Basketball not only didn't improve, but regressed! Gilas Pilipinas never developed guards point guards like Jayson Castro and Terrance Romeo who can leave bigger defenders in isolations, shooters like Jeff Chan and Jimmy Alapag who scare international players and open up the lane, and guys like Gabe Norwood and Marc Pingris who can defend. It's ironic that in this day and age of small balls and 3&D players, we don't have those kinds of players, aside from Jordan Clarkson, in our national team. And come to think of it. If you look at the PBA, there's no Jayson Castro, Jimmy Alapag, Jeff Chan, and Gabe Norwood kinds of local talents.
What happened SBP? Why are we in a basketball age where Cambodia can beat us? Please fix our basketball program!

Jayson Castro feels a Game 7 would have been fatal for TNT
Jayson Castro. PBA IMAGES Jayson Castro considers TNT’s recent successful run to the Philippine Basketball Association (PBA) Governors’ Cup title as among the cherished ones of his decorated career. Jayson Castro to mentor young guns in Gilas return
FIBA photo Jayson Castro admitted that he was surprised to see his name in the 25-man pool of the Philippine national men’s basketball team. The veteran guard had decided to retire from Gilas Pilipinas after the team’s early exit in the FIBA Olympic Qualifying Tournament last year. But the veteran international campaigner felt his services is now needed more than ever. “Nung tiningnan ko yung line up ang unang pumasok sa isip ko, ako lang yata matanda rito, ” Castro told InterAksyon.com in an exclusive interview. Castro said he’s happy knowing that he’s still a valuable part of Gilas Pilipinas. “Siguro nakita ni Coach Chot kaya ko pa maglaro for Gilas,” added Castro. The TNT mainstay guard is one of only three remaining players from the 2013 Gilas Pilipinas team which made its way back to the world stage after 40 years. The other two are June Mar Fajardo and Japeth Aguilar. Castro previously had reservations rejoining Gilas Pilipinas. His son, David Elli, is only 15 months old and the two-time FIBA Asia Mythical Team member wants to spend more time with him. Parang ayaw ko pa talaga nung una kasi nga grabe ang sakripisyo rin talaga sa paglalaro sa Gilas. Bukod sa oras ang laki pa ng panahon na mawawala ka sa family mo. Maliit pa kasi anak ko. As much as possible ayaw kong napapalayo sa kaya, ” said Castro. Castro knows what is being expected of him. As the most senior in the pool, he believes he’s now embracing the previous role of Jimmy Alapag, former team captain of Gilas and now part of the coaching staff. Alapag was also crucial in trying to convince Castro of giving another shot at playing with Gilas. “Yung role ni Jimmy most likely ang gagampanan ko, to provide leadership sa mga bata, ” added Castro. His guidance will be needed by his teammates, particularly Terrence Romeo whom the humble Castro regarded as the country’s best guard. “Sa totoo lang sa basketball hindi na niya ako kailangan kasi siya na yung pinakamagaling na guard sa PBA,” Castro said. “Siguro yung mga maishi-share ko lang yung decision making and paano maglaro sa international level. Iba kasi laro doon. Magaling si Terrence even sa international competitions pero minsan lumalabas pa rin yung pagkabata.” http://j.mp/2kwmMhL

At the very end, The book closes with sparkles coming out and the text “The End” at the end cover appears similar to the 2010 Station ID of GMA with the 2005 ABS-CBN logo and the text at the bottom that says “Maligayang Pasko, Kapamilya!”
This is the second Christmas Station ID to feature the crew from ABS-CBN, GMA and TV5 after “Sabay Tayo sa Pasko, Kapamilya!”
But eventually, The scenes were originally combined from the 2005 Christmas Station IDs from ABS-CBN and GMA which are “Sabay Tayo sa Pasko, Kapamilya!” from ABS-CBN and “Kapuso, Ikaw ang Star ng Pasko” from GMA.
