COMMEMORATING A HALF CENTURY MILESTONE THIS YEAR FOR AN UNSUNG '70s HARD ROCK CLASSIC.
PIC(S) INFO: Spotlight on 50th anniversary promotional Japanese advert for "Rocka Rolla," the 1974 debut album by English then-hard rock band, JUDAS PRIEST, the masterful Tom Allom has remixed and remastered it.
“It’s great to look back and see our future unfurl — from little metal acorns mighty metal oaks do grow. One small step for metal, one giant leap for metalkind — a lifelong metal journey began with these songs. This album lit the eternal metal flame — as real and fresh as ever five decades on.”
 — Rob Halford on the 50th anniversary re-released of "Rocka Rolla" in remastered format
EXTRA INFO: After half a century, the band has finally reached the quality of "Kankei"! The pre-release in Japan is set for Wednesday, November 20th.

I need to bring everyone's attention to this
there is a japanese idol album called ラブレター (Love Letter) by 3776 (aka Chiyono Ide) and it has this insane 21 minute song on it that's about the end of the world and the decay of civilisation following the "great eruption". and it opens with 2 minutes of instrumental followed by a solid like 4 minutes of "he loves me, he loves me not" with the song playing in the background. the song is titled (in english:) "Love Letter to You in the World After the Great Eruption"
is that not the best premise for a j-pop song you've ever heard???? I love when artists just decide to not do what everyone else is doing. (the only other song like this that I know of is Hana by You Kikkawa which is 17 minutes long)
the other songs are a more normal length (max of 5 min) but they're still actually more prog rock/art pop than typical j-pop because they do so much random cool stuff that no other idol group would dare to do
I genuinely love the song & album so much but the singer isn't that good I'll admit (she kinda struggled to hit notes), she's gotten way better recently and so I want a rerecording of this album but literally nobody knows about her so we'll probably never get one :( I'd try covering the entire album myself but I'd probably get sued or something lmao
it is genuinely one of my favourite J-pop albums I've ever heard in terms of writing, I just wish it. y'know. Sounded Good
I don't know where I'm going with this I just had to rant about that

The noise awakes me A usual morning The coffee keeps my mind awake now A garbage filled room Guitar is not tuned It's not a bad time to begin
All for the moment For the moment
The boundless hope is In your hands So I decided To be free No matter what the people say A new change will happen every morning
The noise will block me It's always that way We all compare with other folks Pretend to be tough Why don't you realize? Your values only work for you
All for the moment For the moment
The boundless hope is In your hands So I decided To be free No matter what the people say Everything will change tomorrow morning
Memories afar Chain me to my past I don't know my boundaries
So you should know by now You don't belong in here I've made my mind Don't fear about the trade off Don't fear about the change Believe what you pride And go and make the perfect sound
The boundless hope is In your hands So I decided To be free No matter what the people say A new change will happen every morning From now on So I decided To be free No matter what the people say Everything will change tomorrow morning

PIC(S) INFO: Spotlight on a photograph of vocalist Kip Trevor of Leicester's occult rock band BLACK WIDOW, and famous British Witch, Maxine Sanders, engaged in a live onstage ritual. The photo was later used as the picture sleeve art for the rare Japanese 45 vinyl pressing of "Come to the Sabbat/Way to Power" on CBS Records/Sony, c. 1970.
"The Lady of the Moon, my bride -- Astaroth her name, Side by side we wove the spells that drove mere men insane, "Get thee hence and scour the world -- seek and you shall find," Read my books, yes, learn from, and Power you shall gain."
