An open letter to the U.S. House of Representatives
🏠 Expel members of Congress that participated in the Jan 6 attack on the Capitol.
1,476 so far! Help us get to 2,000 signers!
Expel any members of Congress—including Reps. Greene, Gosar, Biggs, Brooks, Boebert, Cawthorn, and Gohmert—who are found to have aided and abetted the attack on the U.S. Capitol on January 6. It was a violent assault that cost lives, and members of Congress who coordinated illegal or violent activity with organizers cannot serve in the U.S. Congress and should be brought to justice.

Honouring The Dishonorable ... Grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr
Just one little bitty rant for this morning …  🤬 Just when you think that Donald Trump cannot possibly go any lower … he does.  There is literally no limit to the depravation of his mind.  The latest?  On September 5th, he will be holding a fund-raiser at his Bedminster golf club to honour … yes, “honour” … the insurrectionists who attempted a coup on January 6th 2021!!! Grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr…

Four years ago today, thousands of rioters, incited by Donald Trump, violently stormed the Capitol in an effort to overturn the results of a democratic election.
This is because they hate democracy, the United States, and dissenting views. Don't let them forget what they are and what they did. They committed a violent, deadly autocoup attempt in flagrant violation of the United States Constitution they claim to love. Donald Trump betrayed his oath of office and for the first time in the history of the United States of America, we didn't have a peaceful transition of power.
Don't let them live it down. Don't let them erase it. On January 6th, 2021, they let their mask down and people died.

This is the Republican Party on display, ladies and gentlemen. Their true face. Hateful, violent, anti-American cowards who will kill and steal and riot before they acknowledge that they lost. Led by the most cowardly, sniveling, pathetic, arrogant piece of rotting dogshit to inhale oxygen in US politics.
Don't let them forget what they did. Don't forget what they are underneath all the lies and obfuscations.
They're fascists, plain and simple.

You do realize that breaking into and occupying an administrative building while destroying property and wearing costumes is exactly what the rioters did on the January 6th attempted insurrection, right? Naming specific governing officers they hate, saying they “can’t hide,” claiming they’re justified because they’re the good guys fighting against the evil people in power.
The January 6th rioters were crazy because what they did was crazy. Not just because they thought Trump won the election.
I get that it’s university government buildings rather than US government buildings, but it’s a really, really clear echo. These protestors are not better just because you think they’re right.

JoJoFromJerz's Are you f'ng kidding me? Substack:
Tumblr media
Facts: January 6th was not a regular tourist visit, it was not legitimate political discourse, it wasn’t peaceful or patriotic, it wasn’t perpetrated by the deep state, the FBI, Antifa, drag queens or furries. Those who attacked the Capitol are not “heroes”, “patriots” or “warriors”, and Ashli Babbitt is not a martyr. It was a violent and deadly domestic terror attack intended to assuage the battered ego of a madman loser which was fueled by a perpetual proliferation of lies and conspiratorial propaganda in an effort to stop the certification of the 2020 election.
Which. He. Lost. It was incited by Donald Trump, perpetrated by HIS rabid cult, and it claimed the life of Ashli Babbitt because she CHOSE to threaten the lives of members of Congress and she was stopped in that effort by a police officer’s bullet. No matter how many times MAGA tries to rewrite the events of that day, no matter how they water it down, downplay or diminish it, we still have the truth. We still have what we saw with our own eyes, what we heard with our own ears, we can still see the physical scars and we can feel the emotional trauma the officers on the ground that day carry with them as we speak. January 6th was a very dark day for this country. It’s not a matter of comparing it to any of the other dark days we’ve walked through or endured. There’s no definitive list of the worst days we’ve ever known.
There was a physical attack on the citadel of our democracy, and it was horrific, but it was the intentional and deliberate attack on the bedrock principles of our Democracy itself which has forever scarred this nation. Yes, we ultimately prevailed that day. The attack was thwarted. The physical threats were put down, and the rioters were jailed. Unfortunately however, the more insidious side of the goal of that day has not yet succumbed to the efforts to squash it. Quite to the contrary, those behind the attack are more determined and more emboldened than ever. Their objectives are the same, even if their tactics and language have changed. They are still coming for our Democracy. They are still seeking to destroy what it is that makes this little experiment of ours so uniquely special.
Former Wisconsin Gov. Scott Walker (R) posted on X that “voters are long over January 6th.” Walker is wrong, as lots of voters aren’t “over” that day.

Oklahoma City, 1995:
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
This is what Far-Right extremism gets you:
Tumblr media
Far-Right extremism is what caused Timothy McVeigh to bomb the federal building in Oklahoma City in 1995. He killed 149 innocent men and women. Three of those women were pregnant. He also killed 19 children-- most under the age of six.
McVeigh said he was acting in revenge and "protesting the government", which is why he targeted a federal building ... but most of the people who died were not federal officials (and even if they were, it would still be a vile act). They were normal American people just trying to make a living.
Today, I've seen some of Trump's supporters argue for a posthumous pardon of Timothy McVeigh (who was executed for his crime in 2001). They're saying that McVeigh, like all the January 6th rioters, were "doing the right thing" for their country.
I lived in Oklahoma at the time of the bombing. I was there that day.
I saw the dead babies.
I saw the bleeding and mutilated Americans.
Nothing about that was "right". Nothing about January 6th was "right". Death of Americans at the hands of Americans is never "right".
Don't vote for the party that promotes and protects such vile hatred for its own people.
Vote for peace.
Vote blue.
Vote for Harris.

@Liz_Wheeler Literally everything you’ve been told about January 6th is a lie.
The truth: It wasn’t an insurrection.
Protesters didn’t have illegal weapons.
It wasn’t “coordinated”—except by Feds.
26 undercover FBI sources entered the Capitol & restricted areas.
None have been prosecuted.
No police were killed.
In fact, nobody was killed except Ashli Babbitt who was shot by police.
Trump did not call for violence. He specifically called for peace, and told violent rioters to go home.
The Q-anon shaman wasn’t trying to overthrow the government.
Cops opened Capitol doors for protesters.
Barriers outside were moved to allow protesters through.
Nancy Pelosi knew everything & did nothing to stop it.
AOC was never in danger.
J6 defendants have been denied due process & coerced into pleading guilty.
All in an effort to hide the reality that Biden stole the 2020 election, which is a mundane and obvious observation now that we see that Biden got millions more votes than any other Democrat in history.
Trump should prosecute and throw in prison every single rotten evil scumbag involved.

so people who kill multiple people and have prior charges (school shooters and mass murderers and January 6th rioters) can get off with simple murder charges but when you kill (checks notes) exactly one healthcare CEO you get terrorism charges thrown at you? mmmmmmmmmkay.

Hypothetically what do you think would have happened if the january 6 rioters had gotten to pence or pelosi before they got safe?
At this point, I almost dread answering questions like this anymore because I know the kind of hate mail it will unleash for the next few days, but it's important to keep talking about what happened on January 6, 2021 since so many people are trying to normalize it. That includes many people whose lives were in danger that day, as well as the former President who tried to hold on to power by encouraging his supporters to launch a violent insurrection and is now referring to those who have been brought to justice for attempting a coup as "patriots" and "hostages".
I genuinely believe that there were people in that crowd who would have killed Vice President Pence, Speaker Pelosi, and certain Congressional leaders if they had reached them on January 6th. I think there are people in that crowd who were ready to hold lawmakers hostage. Why else did they have handcuffs and zip ties? To help the Capitol Police maintain order? (Oh yeah...that's right, thanks for reminding me: they violently attacked the police -- some even beat police officers with the "Blue Lives Matter" flags that they brought with them.) Now, I do not think that everybody who was at the Capitol on January 6th -- or even the majority of those who took part in the insurrection -- were willing to go that far. I think a lot of them got swept up in what was happening and went with the flow. That doesn't excuse what they did. The flow that they got swept up in was still a fucking insurrection, and anyone who took part in that deserves to be held accountable. But I think there were certain elements embedded throughout that crowd that were much more organized and prepared to fully execute their plans for a coup after disrupting the certification of the Electoral College votes.
I actually think Vice President Pence was probably in more danger than even Speaker Pelosi or some of the Democratic leaders because Trump was so actively calling him out in the days and hours before the insurrection. I think that's why Pence is so adamant now about not supporting Trump. I mean, think about how disgustingly loyal and subservient Pence was to Trump throughout those four years until basically the first few days of January 2021. But even as other Republican leaders are crumbling and offering their allegiance to Trump again in 2024, Pence is standing by his decision not to endorse or support Trump, and I think that's because he realizes that Trump absolutely almost got him (and his family, who were with him in the Capitol on that day) killed on January 6th. Shit, even Mitch McConnell has folded and endorsed Trump again despite the fact that Trump has spent the last three years not only insulting him but also making racist attacks and questioning McConnell's wife's loyalty to the United States all because Elaine Chao had the audacity to resign from Trump's Cabinet in the wake of the insurrection. Yet Mike Pence -- who spent the better part of four years following Trump around like Paul Heyman follows Roman Reigns...
Tumblr media
...THAT same Mike Pence is steadfastly refusing to endorse Trump because he has personal experience about how real of an existential threat Trump is. Some of those people at the Capitol were very serious about following through on their chants to "Hang Mike Pence", and not only does Pence realize that, but he also knows now that Trump -- who refused to take actions that would have helped clear the Capitol more quickly -- said "he deserves it" when hearing about those chants.
That's what is so scary about the insurrection, its aftermath, and the Trump Republican Party's redefinition of what happened that day. It almost worked. They stormed the United States Capitol and invaded both chambers of Congress. They carried Confederate flags into the United States Capitol -- even the fucking Confederate States of America didn't successfully invade Washington, D.C. and plant their flag in the Capitol. They were willing to hurt and probably kill some of America's elected leaders. And the people who helped plan and instigate the events of January 6th have spent the three-plus years since then learning from their mistakes and figuring out how to be successful next time. And guess what? "Next time" is only a few months away.

Why I will no longer accept any MAGA Arguments or attempt to apply Nuance
Donald Trump had to be stopped from starting a nuclear war multiple times during his first term.
When he was voted out in 2020, Trump denied the election result, labeled all votes that put Biden over the edge illegitimate, and incited the January 6th Capitol riot. When she lost the election in 2024, Kamala Harris peacefully conceded.
Trump will pardon the January 6th rioters, including those who committed murder. He and his cult claim it was a false-flag operation by the government. (Why would he pardon rioters who were disguised federal agents, then?) Trump, when impeached for this insurrection attempt, successfully denied having had anything to do with it, despite him having caused it by telling people to (quote) "fight like hell", or else they (quote) "won't have a country anymore". Spineless Republicans voted against the impeachment because Trump was technically not in office at the time, even though, legally, this does not prevent impeaching a former President (precisely so they can't run again).
Trump claims to be pro-peace and defines it as appeasing his autocrat friends in russia by forcing Ukraine to accept any russian terms to end their invasion. Meanwhile, Trump flip-flops regarding Israel, but generally exhibits the same extreme pro-war mentality when it comes to the Middle East, simply because America's enemies there are coloured Muslims. Same with China. He's also threatened to annex four countries since having been elected.
Trump is, of course a fascist, racist, homo- and transphobe and supports religious zealotry, but you either knew that or are in favor of it.
Trump denying the severity of the Coronavirus in 2020 led to 400.000 unnecessary American deaths. Trump committed genocide against his own people with this.

Tumblr media Tumblr media
So here is the long and short of it:
Google used (uses) geofencing data, location data that undeniably shows where you and your phone have been.
Google sells this data to data brokers and advertisers, whether you like it or not. And yeah, it wouldn’t surprise me if Apple also did/does this, but if they do, Tim Cook has done a yeoman’s job of keeping it secret.
Google also hands out your location data to police departments (and governmental agencies led by conservative, anti-abortion Republicans, but I’m sure that’s unimportant, right?).
Now—and here’s the crux of the matter—just as the government was using Google’s location data to prosecute January 6th rioters, Google has had a sudden change of heart and will effectively limit their ability to remotely store your GPS information on their servers (which means it will mostly only be available locally on your Android phone’s hard drive, thus making it significantly harder - not completely impossible - for Google to give the police access to bulk location data, even if presented with a search warrant).
Tumblr media
The bottom line is, it was always wrong for Google to collect and then sell their “reverse location search data to advertisers, data miners, the police and the government. The germane question is, why now? Why has Google suddenly found Jesus, so to speak, and decided that customers privacy rights are sacrosanct, just as the U.S. government is using that data to prosecute Trump sycophants who wanted to overthrow the election?
SN: I think the whole green bubble vs. blue bubble argument is a stupid made up problem by whiny people who don’t have enough real problems in life (if you disagree then please go make your own post), and Idgaf if you’re an Android or an iPhone user. If you’re happy with your phone, that’s all that matters — but our privacy rights constantly being violated isn’t trivial, that’s actually very important. And Google suddenly deciding that now is the best time for them to end their practice of ratting people out seems highly sus.

Ok political Tumblr, let's get some things straight about things I've seen circulating in leftist Tumblr:
Tumblr media
Luigi is being wrongfully charged with terrorism/first degree murder, BUT that will likely do him more favors legally than not. Because terrorism is such a specific charge for specific motives, the prosecution is going to have a hell of a time proving him guilty of it. We shouldn't be as angry about it as much as we should be laughing at their weak attempts to demonize him. I believe it'll backfire in favor of Saint Luigi, haha
The January 6th rioters WERE charged with domestic terrorism, as they should've been. Those charges however do not carry the death penalty for any of the participants because they ACTIVELY killed ZERO. Some of their own died, and had complications from heart disease right after, another supposedly by suicide. We could debate all day whether that particular blood is on the rioters hands, but I think it matters that none that died were actually targets of the riot. Most were their own casualties, and that blood is on Trump's hands, in my personal opinion. He took advantage of their ignorant misdirected anger. He incited that riot for a fact, trying to get them to do his dirty work in overthrowing the govt. The January 6th riot is really what ramped up the chance for terrorism charges for everyone going forward.
Tumblr media
No school shooters got less than a life sentence or the equivalent in a mental health facility, or immediate execution on the spot without a trial, with only the exception of a couple of school shooters in 1998. It was even before Columbine, by an 11 and 13 year old. Terrorism also wasn't a charge that really started until The Patriot Act, which those shootings predate. It's not very comparable when you realize that couple with the fact that the death penalty has been done away with almost everywhere in the US. Some cases see the parents also getting 10-15 years in jail, too. There are a few school and mass shooters that have since been charged with terrorism, though. Those charges SHOULD come with every mass shooting, if you ask me.
