Dearest Nico, - Two strangers falling in love over the exchange of letters and phone calls. Loosely based off of the song “Travelin’ Soldier” by the Dixie Chicks. But at the same time it’s really not.

Comfy - Nico comes home from a hockey game ready to relax, and though the reader isn’t in a bath mood, they’ll gladly sit outside the tub and talk all evening with him.

Too Much To Drink - The reader went to a simple bachelorette party and took part in the festivities, especially the drinking. And of course, Nico comes to the rescue.

Sun Days - Enjoying a perfect day on the New Jersey beaches with Nico and the team.

When you Wake - Nico went out with the boys, and the reader is left with a surprise when the Hughes brothers bring him home far less than sober.

Jamie had relationships before in the past. he had known love from women like you had men. he had done the heartbreaking, and been the heart broken. he was terrified to love again. until trevor introduced him to you.

you have loved him with a love he’s never felt before. two words Jamie would use to describe you is loving and understanding. you understand him and his job, knowing that he will be away often, and you never make him feel bad about it. he loved how you always try to go to every game of his, to support him no matter what.

crying in the bathroom for some dude whose name i can’t remember now

you had met jamie at the bar one night during the off season, when he was home visiting his family and friends. you had been crying in the bathroom over some guy, that looking back now you couldn’t even remember the name of. you had ran into jamie on the way out of the bathroom. he had caught you before you could fall. seeing you upset, the boy decided he wanted to buy you a drink and keep you company, so he could try and cheer you up.

the boy invited you to hang out with he and his friends. all of you hit off instantly and you had one of the best nights of your life. at the end of the night you and jamie had exchanged numbers before he dropped you off at ur apartment. the two of you calling, texting, and facetiming whenever possible.

phone conversations turned into weekly dates. weekly dates turned into flying to anaheim to see him play. flying to anaheim turned into moving in with him and trevor. a little after a year, jamie knew he wanted to be with you.

your past and mine are parallel lines. stars all aligned and they intertwined.

during the off season jamie had his injury. the boy decided to take you disney and spend a whole day there with you. going on all the rides he could, shopping, eating all the amazing food the park had. after dinner, the two of you had sat beside each other to watch the fireworks and it was the best night you’ve ever had. However, after a wonderful date, full of all the amazing stuff at disney, jamie eventually stops and faces you towards him.

“Y/n, I know it took me a year to finally ask you, but you are one of the best things that could have ever happened to me. everything and everyone in our pasts had led us here. my best friend, don’t tell trevor, my soulmate. would you wanna be my girlfriend?”

it was an immediate yes from you. you knew without a doubt, that the two of you were meant to be with eachother.

the two of you were getting the chance to teach each other how real love felt and always being there for one another.

thinking about it and realizing that most of my most prominent OTP’s from the past few years weren’t originally intended to be couples but came about as a result of actor chemistry/improvisation

like, going back to my 2016-2019(ish) Zoo era—Mitch and Jamie only got a romantic storyline after the writers noticed the actors’ chemistry at initial table reads, and they ended up outshining the actual intended main romance between Jackson and Chloe

in Frasier, the only reason Niles and Daphne were written to be love interests is because the actors played off each other so well in a pre-series photo shoot (or so I remember reading somewhere, not 100% sure about this one)

Abby was initially supposed to end up with Stephen on Primeval, but because she had better chemistry with Andrew Lee Potts, the writers decided to pair her up with Connor instead

and obviously Eddie and Chrissy aren’t technically a canon couple (depends on what you consider canon, really), but their first scene together was much more flirtatious than initially intended due to Joseph Quinn and Grace Van Dien’s improvisations, and they ended up being a pretty popular ship as a result

there’s no real point to this, I just found it interesting that I have a sort of pattern when it comes to my favorite TV couples, I guess lol

Any Player x Reader

His flushed cheeks brought a sad smile to my lips. I’d been running my finger over the bridge of his nose for countless minutes, occasionally venturing to smooth his brows and drag my thumbs across his cheekbones. A strategy I learned would put him to sleep quickly, thanks to the help of his mother.

I didn’t know where the random flu came from, but I knew my poor guy was out for the count. I thought he was lying when he said he couldn’t get himself out of bed, but when he truly struggled, and I saw the shake in his body, I knew something was wrong. He was burning up, so I limited the amount of blankets he could have to a measly single sheet. He wasn’t happy. He kept complaining that he was cold, and his body’s shivers did no help to defend my case. I knew however, that he would be fine, and that he was really burning up.

I couldn’t count how many times he’d gotten up and sprinted to the bathroom, only for his stomach to try and empty itself. He hadn’t eaten anything all day, so most of it was disgusting stomach acid and mucus. I rubbed his back every time, and when he returned to bed, I’d rub his stomach.

He seemed to enjoy that. Claimed it was soothing on his sore stomach, and I assumed it would have felt nice on the rest of his body. Gentle massages were another method to get him out quickly, but I learned that tracing his features with my fingers worked faster. His quiet snores filled the room, breathing through his mouth because his nose was stuffed. He was usually not one to sleep naked, but he found it easier to minimize the sweating with just the sheet and a pair of boxers over and on his body. Andy Griffith played on the tv across from the bed, a peaceful show that didn’t get him too worked up when he did wake up, but it was also interesting enough to keep his attention.

It was nostalgic as well. I received the occasional text from his mother, responding to questions I had for medication advice, or simply asking if he was okay. She was incredibly helpful, and she was the other thing keeping me entertained while I sat in bed half beneath my sleeping lover. I was supposed to have a girls’ day out with the ladies of the team. I cancelled on them as soon as I heard his voice when he woke up.

If the bathroom was not the first thing he looked for, I was, when he woke up.

With a quiet, “baby?” And an attempted lift of his head, I’d shush him and run a hand through his hair.

“Rest, hun.” He hated resting, but at the same time I think he enjoyed the lazy time with me. Despite his aching body and his miserable temperature.

“Please…” I didn’t always know what he was asking for, but the quiver in his tone would force me to try every theory until I heard him let out a relieved sigh.

Usually he just wanted his stomach rubbed, or a massage on a few muscles. Especially his hands. He seemed to love the gentle rhythmic feel of my thumbs rubbing circles against his palms while I held his hands.

It seemed what he enjoyed most was the occasional feel of cold air on his face as well. Which was why it became a routine of mine from the early hours of the morning, to grab the magazine on my dresser as a first resort when he mumbled out a quiet plea for help. Sometimes he’d even manage a smile when I could cool his face off with the subtle air from the home decor booklet.

“How’re ya feeling, bubs?” I would whisper between fanning him and pushing his hair back.

“I’m okay.” He would mutter in return, usually before disaster struck.
