Jamie Raeburn recording
On the Alan Lomax Digital Archive there's now an exhibit about the 1951 Edinburgh People's Festival Ceilidh, which Lomax was on hand to record.
The exhibit includes a specially commissioned recording by Alasdair of the song Jamie Raeburn, which featured in the 1951 event. Alasdair is accompanied by Neil McDermott on fiddle. You will need to scroll down the page quite a lot - past many familiar names - to reach the recording.
I'm guessing there are more details about this in the podcast by archivist, guitarist and occasional patron of Alasdair's, Nathan Salsburg. However, I have yet to listen to the 2+ hours of the episode.

merlin for the character thing
Thank you so much for asking!
https://youtu.be/0RSuJ1fh2Ew
Other than Merlin/Mark Strong is gorgeous, I love that the character is just so smart. Also empathetic and caring although he’ll take great pains to hide that part of himself.
least favorite thing about them
He’s dead.
favorite line
No, no, no. You don't talk to me like that. You have a complaint, you come here and whisper it in my ear.
brOTP
While Harry/Merlin can be my OTP, they are also my favorite pair of friends.
OTP
I am not a One True Pairing kind of shipper, but I love Merlin/Eggsy as much as I love Merlin/Harry.
nOTP
Merlin/Chester or Merlin/Charlie. Seriously, is there any fic with those pairings where it’s not hatesex or slavefic?
random headcanon
Merlin is a rather spectacular tailor. He was disappointed that he wasn’t actually going to get to work in the shop.
unpopular opinion
I don’t think I have one.
song i associate with them
Definitely NOT Country Roads. I have a deep love of Scottish traditional music, and I’ve always associated Jamie Raeburn’s Farewell, by the Tannahill Weavers, as Merlin’s walk-on music.
youtube
favorite picture of them

JAMIE RAEBURN (Open)
The moment Jamie Raeburn set eyes on Grace Sweetwater, he knew that he was going to marry her and spend the rest of his life with her. He loved everything about her from her shy smile, to her bonnie brown curly hair and blue eyes. He was working at the local grocery store as the stock boy. When she came walking into the store with her mother he knocked over a bunch of mellons because she was the most bonnie lass he’d ever seen in his whole life. Of course he knew who she was, all the children of the locals knew about the founding members of the Church and their children, how they walked around like royalty on their island. They didn’t belong there. But he didn’t care when he laid eyes on her. Later that night he snuck up to the Sweetwater Manor and watched her sitting at her vanity brushing her hair. He grabbed some pebbles from the driveway and threw them at her window and the rest was history. 30 years and 3 children later they’re still as happy as they were the first day. They got pregnant young and tried to figure it out; just like his mother and his father did before him (who were 18 and she was 16 at the time). Jamie has no powers, but he thinks his wife’s powers are pretty convenient. 46
GRACE RAEBURN (Open)
Grace Raeburn will never forget the day she met her husband, Jamie. She was 15, home from school for the Christmas holidays. Elizabeth Mycroft always liked to make it snow for the children of the island around the Christmas holiday so it was freezing cold outside. He was this cute boy who was goofing off while he stocked the produce. She was shocked when later that night he was throwing pebbles at her window. She knew that she shouldn’t sneak out with him; he was a local boy and she wasn’t supposed to fraternize with local boys. But everything in her body told her to go with him. Wasn’t this what Theodore preached you should feel in your enthrallment? How could this feeling be wrong then. What was she going to do, let him freeze to death outside?
He took her to the beach and he built a fire and had a blanket with some hot chocolate for them. It was the nicest thing anyone had ever done for her. Well, being teenagers you can imagine what happened in the time before microchips were implanted into the base of your brainstem. You can guess what happened next. She snuck out the rest of that break to be with him, a couple of times they snuck into his house at night after his parents had gone to sleep and they’d fall asleep together. A month later she was back at school so sick she could barely keep anything down. She was kept in the medical building. After some bloodwork it was confirmed that she was pregnant. Her parents were mortified, they wanted to keep it quiet so that it wouldn’t tarnish their reputation.
They were going to quitely keep her locked up at home until she had the baby, and they almost got away with it except she was able to sneak out and run away to the Raeburns who welcomed her in with open arms after they found out that she was carrying their grandchild. Grace knew that by running away and having the baby that she could never go back, that she would be dead to her family. Most of them don’t acknowledge her existence, but Clementine will sometimes smile at her when she sees her in the village. Grace has the ability to find lost things, she’s had it since a young child. GRACE IS A MEMBER OF THE DAMNED. 46
(1) RAEBURN (Open)
is openly against the Sweetwaters, Theodore and the Church. Is a very confident and self-aware woman. She is a proud and open lesbian and, due to either something in her DNA or personality, is unable to be manipulated by Theodore. The Sweetwaters tried to get her to join the Church when she was 18, but she simply showed them the middle finger and told them to get fucked. Her grandpa is very proud of her for it. If she were to hear about COD, she'd join it without a moment's thougth and ask when she can murder Theodore. #JOKENOJOKE. Whether she has an ability is up to the player. 30
(2) RAEBURN (Open)
inspired by alison moore jewellry. After finishing her A Levels, (2) went on to do an apprenticeship in jewellry and blacksmithing. She was always creative, but with the mix of needing to physically work hard for it - with blood, sweat and tears. When it comes to painting, for example - not a chance. That's too slow, boring and quiet. But making jewellry or knives? Working with metal, gems, saws, hammers, files and polish stones? To change a strip of metal into a gorgeous ring or mini dagger? That always left (2) with a feeling of accomplishment or wonder. Her ability is to fuse metals together, which is very useful for her job and passion. early - mid 20s
(3) RAEBURN (Open)
Although they love their grandparents, (3) has been a vegetarian/vegan since they were 5 years old. That one fateful day (3) witnessed an animal being slaughtered for the family's butcher shop. It was an accident, they definitely weren't meant to see that at such a young age, but they had wandered off and ended up in a place they weren't supposed to be. (3) works at Ollaberry Farm for Patrick Woodcroft. It can sometimes be awkward at family gatherings, with the Raeburns generally hating the members of the Church - even if Patrick is also an exception for Gram. Nevertheless, they love and respect each other. When loud fights happen, they usually end in everyone sharing a bottle of whisky and cheering to the island's freedom. Slàinte! Whether they have an ability is up to the player. 18 - early 20s
