Beware the Batman

This is a concept for a live action Batman film set in my new reboot DCU universe. This story takes inspiration from The War of Jokes and Riddles, Batman Rebirth, and Batman the Animated Series. A lot of villains will be recasted due to the reboot.

Synopsis: Set after the events of Flashpoint, Bruce Wayne returns after being gone for a few years Batman must now reclaim his role as Gotham’s Protector.

The Riddler

Plot:

-The film opens with skyline view of Gotham City at night, cuts to Gotham Square decorated for Christmas in the middle of a Christmas festival and a large blast of fire destroys several booths and stalls. Several civilians scatter to get away and screams and sirens are heard as a figure looms over cackling darkly.

-Meanwhile, across the city Damian looks out the window looking a bustling Gotham. Alfred enters the room and tells him he cannot hide in Bruce’s office all night, and Bruce had requested his appearance at the ball upstairs.

-Damian arrives with Alfred and is told to try and not look so glum and try to have fun. Tim is in a corner texting away and Damian begins to annoy him until Bruce arrives and tries to stop the to from fighting.

- Commissioner Gordon flips the switch to the Bat Signal.

-Bruce talks to Damian before Damian points out that their late. He warns Damian that they’ll finish the talk later.

- Detective Montoya and Bullock have created a block around the Christmas festival. Firefly as set ablaze half of the festival and Montoya and several other cops fire at him and he explodes a cop car.

- The Batmoblie races into the heart of the burning festival, Batman and Robin hope out. Batman orders Robin to save the hostages. Reluctantly, Robin heads towards the hostages cutting them free and leading them towards Montoya.

-Batman leaps out the way of a blast of fire and throws two batarangs at Firefly who dodges them. Robin grapples into of nearby building and throws a batarang successfully hitting Firefly. He taunts him and he lures him away from the police, Batman chases them in the direction on foot before grapple onto Firefly and the two fight in the sky.

-Meanwhile, black news van with a green question mark on the back door pulls away from the scene in the opposite direction.

- Robin leads Firefly a few blocks away, he leads him to the Gotham City Reservoir which is abandoned. Batman is able to break on of Firefly’s jets and the two crash straight through a window inside the building.

-Robin kicks down the side door and helps Batman to his feet. Firefly left his jet pack and laughs at insults the two hero’s.

-Batman tells him this will only end one way for him. The two leap out the ways as a grenade is sent in the direction. Robin grows furious leaps up several rafters, and throws a Batarang disarming Firefly and he beats him within any inch of his life Batman commends him to stop before he kills him.

- Robin tells him he deserves to die after he killed people tonight, and Batman tells Robin doesn’t kill nor will it bring anyone back.

-Robin storms out and Batman calls Alfred who informs him Gordon is on his way.

-Cut, to Batman getting back into the Batmoblie after debriefing with Gordon and races home.

-Batman being to question Damian and tells him he needs to learn self-control. Robin lashes out at him Batman reminds him that Robin isn’t a right it’s a privilege.

-The Batmoblie stops inside the Cave and Alfred greets the two; Damian unmasks and leaves the two men to talk.

- Bruce pulls up camera footage of Vickie Vale taking about Firefly’s arrest and Alfred talks about him about trying to speak with Damian.

- Across town at the Iceberg Lounge, Penguin’s men are playing pool. Another one enters with a green and black box and the thug reads the card addressed to ‘Ozzy’. They open it and it’s a Jack in the box that has a riddle on it. One of the goons tampers with it and it explodes.

- Riddler is show consumed in darkness watching his monitor which show Batman from earlier that night and monologues to himself about his next step.

-Damian walks downstairs the next morning and is met with Dick eating cereal. Damian ask when Alfred is ready to take him to school, and Bruce appears and tells him he’ll take him instead.

-The car ride shows Gotham and is silent until Bruce talks to him and the two aren’t seeing eye to eye. Bruce tries and Damian tells him it won’t try to understand his pov and Bruce dismisses the idea and tells him killing isn’t the answer. Damian leaves the car for school.

- Bruce heads into Wayne Enterprises and meets with Lucius Fox about new technology and upgrades concerning the event presentation in a few moments.

- Bruce begins his speech explaining new technologies to assist with surveillance and surgical devices before the room is disrupted by a group of thugs in green jumpsuits with rifles.

-Bruce presses a button on his watch as more goons charge in and walking in the middle of them is the Riddler.

-Dick and Damian gets alerts on their phone and watch. Dick and Alfred rush to the cave and see Riddler’s board cast from WE cameras. Damian fakes being sick and is excused and leaves school with his bag.

- Dick takes a Batcycle and races toward the city. Damian arrives in the alleyway near WE and changes into his Robin suit. The entrance is blocked off by Gordon and Swat. Montoya radios that the south exits are closed off. Robin grapples towards the top of the building.

-Riddler has his men steal some of the prototypes and Bruce questions him while everyone else stays silent due to being held at gunpoint. Damian is able to get into WE from the vent system and crawls through till he makes it towards the conference room.

-Nightwing swears through traffic, and construction racing into the city.

-Riddler asks Bruce a riddler about his parents that nearly provokes him but he keeps his composure. And Gordon order the Riddler to surrender. The gunmen take hostages, one of them being Lucius. And takes his cane and presses a button the opens a giant box. He tells Gordon through a device he left outside that he’s place bombs in three locations of Gotham and warns him if any boys in blue enter he’ll turn Gotham into a ghost town.

- Robin tells Nightwing to finds the bombs. Alfred cuts in and tells them about the first riddle. Robin and Nightwing deuce that the first bomb is at the Gotham Gazette. Nightwing makes a u-turn and rushes towards the bomb.

-Meanwhile, Robin ventures into another room where he finds three goons with Lucius and are threatening him for the access codes to the basement where WE developments weapons and vehicles. Robin sneaks in the room and uses smoke and birdarangs to stop them men. He frees Fox and Lucius tells him there are other hostages.

-Nightwing finds the bomb in the parking garage and attempts disarm it but is shot at and had to quickly disarm the bomb and take out the five gunmen.

-Robin is able to free the remaining hostages and enters the main room. Nightwing tells him he’s disarmed the first two bombs but the third one they cannot locate it. Red Robin arrives to help Robin and much do Robin’s dismay the begin clearing the room until it’s just Riddler and two thugs who’s guns are jammed.

-Nightwing and Alfred find the last bomb in in the conference room where the Riddler is and warns them.

- Robin and Red Robin attack Riddler’s thugs and Riddler taughts Bruce and leave him with a parting gift. Once Robin freed Bruce the discover Riddler manage to escape.

- Back at the Cave Bruce scans the device Riddler left him with. Bruce finds out the device was manufactured in Gotham and only a few factories can make it. He and Damian arrive at a Toy Factory in Old Gotham.

-Batman and Robin arrive to find several security guards slaughtered and Batman tills Robin to stay alert.

- Batman and Robin end up in a maze inside of the warehouse and have to rely on each other to trust and listen to one another in order to escape.

- Robin finds another Riddle that sends them to visit GCPD. Together with Gordon their able to piece together the two riddles they have, the locations of the bombs, and the last “present” Riddler sent to the Mayor during the WE siege.

-Damian and Bruce have a moment in the cave before Riddler comes on a live and tells Gotham that tonight is the night he kills the Dark Knight.

- Batman, Robin, and Nightwing suit up and have to stop Riddler by Christmas Morning. Robin and Nightwing follow a lead to the old Cobblepot Steel Mill. Where the find a captured Penguin and must save him and theirselves from Riddler’s latest trap.

-Batman arrives at City Cemetery and is gassed by Scarecrow, and is forced to come to terms with his worst fears as father and mentor.

-Nightwing and Robin must travel through the riddler’s underground tunnels in order to find him.

- Batman defeats Scarecrow, and makes him tell him where to find Riddler.

- Batman finds Riddler’s hideout inside of the old Gotham train Station.

- Batman,Robin, and Nightwing battle through goons, and traps. Batman meets the Riddler and has a finale showdown to stop him.

- Batman and Robin talk on a rooftop before Nightwing joins them and tells that can the finally go back to the Manor to open presents. The three grapple into away as the sun rises over the city.

You drop your grocery bags on the counter. Sighing, you crumple the paper and throw it in the trash.

It was no surprise Jamie wasn't home, but you thought when you asked him to be home for dinner tonight, he would.

You're not a priority, and as much as you loved Jamie, you wondered if things would change or if you should leave now.

You understood how busy he could get between his acting career and his music life. It didn't bother you initially because Jamie still made time for you, and now? You were left wondering if your fiancé felt anything for you.

You sit at the breakfast bar and grab the notepad that Jamie previously wrote on. It was a little petty, but you didn't want to text. You'd respond quickly and probably say something you regret.

Dinners in the fridge.

I'll see you when you come to bed.

You close your eyes and pinch the bridge of your nose. Your cheek muscle twitches to a frown, and your breath shakes as salty tears fill your eyes. Cries of pain fill your throat when you think of what your life would be like without him.

The logical side of your brain tells you to pack a bag and leave. You can't fix this, and you can't make him do better.

Your emotional side is begging you to stay and give him another chance. It reminds you of all the good times you've had with Jamie and how good you were together.

Your phone buzzes on the counter. You pick it up to see a text from one of your friends. The message has a link to a website. You click on it and wait for it to load.

Your stomach feels nauseous as you read the title in big, bold letters: Jamie Campbell Bower and y/n y/l/n call it quits?

Rumors fly as y/n is nowhere to be seen. Is this the end of what everyone thought was a perfect relationship?

You click out of the article and text Erin back.

You haven't told anyone about your relationship problems. You didn't want to believe something was wrong.

You leave your phone on the counter; you don't want to be bothered by more links or shitty pictures. You didn't want to be upset that Jamie wouldn't call or text you tonight. You head upstairs, watch a movie, and hope sleep will come easy.

That following day you're woke by guitar notes downstairs. You look to the side of the bed where Jamie usually lays. His bedsheets are perfectly flat, and pillows fluffed.

Groaning, you roll out of bed, get dressed, and decide to make breakfast. Jamie couldn't say no to bacon.

When you reach the kitchen, you start the coffee pot and begin pulling ingredients out of the fridge. Another sigh escapes your lips when you see Jamie didn't touch the food you made for him.

You're doing your best to focus on cooking food, but you feel this ache in your chest, like your heart is getting ready to shatter.

You go to the studio room when you're finished in the kitchen. The door is cracked just enough for you to see the backside of Jamie. You hold a plate in your hand and set it next to him on his desk.

"Hey." You quietly say. "Made you some food."

He turns in his chair, giving a weak smile. "Thanks, but I had some toast earlier." He continues strumming on his guitar and ignores that you're standing there.

You feel anger boiling in your blood. You take a deep breath and sarcastically say, "Of course you did." And start for the door.

Jamie's head snaps up when he hears what you say. "What's that supposed to mean?"

You stop in the doorway. "It means exactly what I said."

He sets his guitar against his desk and gives you his full attention for the first time in a while. He softly smacks his hands on his thighs and leans forward, "Something on your mind?" He sharply asks.

"Where did you sleep last night?" You lean against the door frame; your eyes are burning holes at the man in front of you. You'd be lying if you said you weren't worried about his answer. "it wasn't with me." You spit.

Jamie chuckles. "You've got to be kidding, right? All of this attitude because I didn't sleep in bed with you? I fell asleep on the couch. I got home late and didn't want to wake you up. That's what this is about?" He says, gesturing to you. "I'm not cheating on you if that's what you're getting at."

Another gut ache you hadn't even thought of that possibility. Your jaw clenches, and through gritted teeth, you say, "It's not just that, Jamie!"

He leans back in his chair and crosses his arms over his chest. He's acting like your existence is bothering him. "Then what is the issue?!" He shouts. "I'm busy ensuring my job is done. Doesn't that matter? This is my job, do you not remember?" He taunts you like you're a dumbass. He showcases his instruments. Standing, he walks toward you, and for a second, you're frightened by how close he is to your face. "What do you want from me?" His eyes bounce around your face, and you start to feel small. He speaks louder this time. "Say what you need to or get out!"

"Do not raise your fucking voice at me!" You push him hard in the chest to get him out of your face. Why is Jamie treating you this way? You shake your head, "Fuck, never mind. There's no point anymore!" You storm down the hallway. You hear his footsteps following, and he yells for you to stop. But when you do, he looks lost. You roughly poke his chest, making him stop in his tracks. "I should have listened to my friends and family, Jamie. They told me this would happen, you'd get too busy for me, and you'd be gone all the fucking time, but I didn't want to believe it!" You wipe the corners of your eye, "I've done everything I can. I've given you a chance after chance, hoping and praying that you could show me the man I fell in love with. You don't care anymore, and you've proven it time and time again. Why am I still waiting?" You take off your engagement ring and put it in his hand. "You don't love me as I love you, and I deserve better." You snivel through your sentence, "What happened to us? We used to be so good together, and now it feels like I don't even know you, and I hate this version of you!"

"Y/n, wait." His voice is soft and gentle, realizing he directed his stress and anger at the wrong person.

You grab your keys and phone from the small table by the front door and quickly exit before he can say anything else. His voice you loved now sounds like nails on a chalkboard and irritates your whole body. You need to leave.

You don't mean to slam the door shut, but you're surely not going to apologize for it. You open your car door and buckle in, "Fuck!" You scream. "Fuck, fuck, fuck." Your shoulders relax, and you turn the engine on. You weren't sure where you were going but weren't staying in that house any longer. You could drive around until you were cooled off. Like muscle memory, you bring yourself to your favorite park, where you and Jamie first met.

Your sister told you it was one of the most beautiful hikes you'd ever go on, and she wasn't lying. The only part that you regretted was not bringing a sweater. It poured rain that afternoon, and you were alarmed by the thunder and lightning. You found a hole in the rock wall and hid for cover, hoping the rain would pass and you'd be on your way.

Ten minutes passed before someone else had the same idea as you. He looked surprised when he walked around the corner to see you standing there. "Sorry I didn't see you. Do you mind if I share shelter with you for a moment?" He laughed. "I thought it was going to be sunny today."

You scoot over and allow him into the tight space. "I did the same thing." You giggle, "And now it's pouring rain, and I'm cold, and I'm honestly not a huge fan of the lightning."

He crosses his arms over his chest and rubs his shoulders for warmth. "I'm Jamie." He says between shivers. "I'd stick my hand out, but it's freezing.

You nod, "Y/n."

He brightly smiles at you. "Pretty. Very suiting." He peaks his head out of the small caved-in area to check the weather. "I probably sound like a creep, sorry." Embarrassed, he looks everywhere except for you.

When the rain settles, you find yourself bummed. You were entertained by the conversation you and Jamie were sharing.

Jamie was mesmerizing to you; his blue eyes sparkled in the sunlight, and that gorgeous contagious smile tranced you. "Do you want company?" You ask. "We're going the same way."

"I was going to ask you the same, but I didn't want to frighten you." He admits.

You sit on the cliff's edge with your legs crossed over one another.

This was a beautiful view of The Valley, not a cloud to be seen; the sun's rays warmed your body, and you could feel yourself begin to relax. You don't know how long you've been there. You only knew it was getting darker and didn't want to go home.

"It's wild how small the world is, but when you're down there, everything's so big."

Jamie grins as he watches you talk. You had a lot to say and were intelligent; he could listen to you talk for hours and never get tired of your voice. You captivated him. It was that day Jamie decided he was going to marry you.

The smell of a cigarette burning fills your nostrils, giving away you're no longer alone. You don't bother looking behind you. Why give someone a reason to start a conversation? You hear footsteps closing in on you, and you squeeze your eyes shut, hoping they will disappear.

It's not till you feel the person draping a jacket over your shoulders that you realize who it is.

Jamie.

You were predictable. He knew this was where you would go. You often did after fights or when you were upset. It was your haven.

You watch out the corner of your eye as he puts out his cigarette; he sits crisscrossed and leans back on his hands.

"Why are you here?" You coldly ask.

"Can we talk?" He pushes his sunglasses up to hold his hair back, revealing those eyes that you fell in love with.

You drop your eyes to the horizon. Eye contact felt like punishment at this point. "Do I have a choice?"

"Please forgive me." He sits up and nervously fidgets with the strings of his sweater. "I've been caught up in my work chaos, and it's no excuse for how I've treated you or made you feel." He lights up another cigarette. "You are a priority in my life, and you're right. You do deserve better. You always have." He pulls off his cigarette and nervously flicks the ashes. "I'm sorry, truly. I’m horrified with my behavior.”

Your hand runs down your face. "But why did it take me threatening to leave for you to pay attention?" You shrug your shoulders. "Do you care anymore? Is this what you want; am I what you want?"

He quickly nods, "You've always been what's best for me. Yes, I want you, always. I'm an idiot and don't deserve you, but please, give me one more chance to prove that I can be the man you need and want."

You're eyes drift to his; a mix of sadness and fear lies in his baby blues.

You're trying to convince yourself he can do it, but some of you feels like it's not worth it. You don't ever want to feel this let down again.

"One more chance." You weakly smile at him.

"You won't regret it. I promise you." He sticks his hand in his pocket and pulls out your ring. He gently grabs your hand and slides the ring back on your finger. "That was the worse thing I've ever felt." He admits. "I promise I'll find a balance between work and home."

You scoot close to him, and he holds his arm out for you to snuggle into his side. He holds you close and kisses the top of your head. "We should get married here."

You lightly giggle, "I don't want to hike up here in a dress, and I don't think either of our parents would want to either." Shivering, you ask, "Walk me to the car?"

Jamie helps you stand and pulls you close to his chest while wrapping you tightly in his arms. "It would be an honor."

"Jamie?" You tilt your head, and he looks down to meet your gaze.

"Yes, love?"

"Please help me make this work." You wrap your arms around his waist and gently push your face to his chest.

"I promise I'll prove it to you every second of the day that giving me another chance wasn't a waste of time."

You squeeze a little tighter. "Good, I've become quite accustomed to you, and I'd hate for that to no longer be a thing." You tease him. "Now take me home; I think you owe me at least dinner and a movie on the couch." You reach up and kiss his cheek. "I love you and I would like to continue to do so."

40. Do you think the movies did the books justice?

the movies are just ok, but they could be so much better. I haven't seen all of them recently, but when I watched both breaking dawn movies this fall and when I see video clips from the movies, I was like, this can't be twilight? why are the actors so... awkward?!? bella and pretty much all of the cullens are so stiff and uncomfortable in the movies, they just didn't convince me with their acting at all and I never forgot I'm watching a movie where real people pretend to be characters. some of the side characters had better actors, of course. michael sheen, casey labow, jamie campbell bower, lee pace, even bella's human friends did a much more convincing job of playing their characters than most of the main cast. I could tell some of the actors didn't even want to be there and were just doing it for the paycheck? like, okay, if you're so embarrassed to be there, why should we bother to watch you at all? if the actors have fun with their roles, it's so much better to watch. the movies left out a lot of important stuff about bella and jake's relationship and bella and edward's relationship, which made so many people who don't bother to read books make wrong assumptions about those relationships. another thing I didn't like is that the vampires just look so human. they didn't even bother to make them look like vampires, they just cast some hot people and gave them pale makeup and that was it. it should be really obvious to tell who's a vampire and who's a human, but in the movies, it just wasn't. they didn't look any different at all, and it only got worse in the final movies. also, vampires shouldn't change, but all the cullens had different hairstyles and aged like 5 years with each movie. edward looked like a normal 40 year old dad in breaking dawn 2, not a teenage vampire dad that he is. but anyway, some positive things the movie did that I liked: the visuals are beautiful, the soundtrack is really good, the way they portrayed vampires moving and jumping was actually pretty cool, and actually casting native american kids to play the wolf pack.

2023 MTV Movie & TV Awards results

The MTV Movie & TV Awards were produced in a whirlwind of changes during a tumultuous week due to the writers' strike, and a ragtag group of actors were presented with golden popcorn statuettes on Sunday. 2023 MTV Movie & TV Awards results With the most nominations among written material, the blockbuster movie "Top Gun: Maverick" is accompanied by the TV shows "Stranger Things," "The Last of Us," "The White Lotus," and "Wednesday." Shows like "Jersey Shore Family Vacation," "RuPaul's Drag Race," "The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills," and "Vanderpump Rules" led the nominations in the unscripted categories. The Comic Genius Award went to Jennifer Coolidge, and Purple Hearts won for "Come Back Home" as best musical performance. Drew Barrymore had been scheduled to host the annual event, but she said on Thursday that she will no longer be doing it in support of the ongoing writers' strike. Even though part of Barrymore's material had already been recorded before the strike started, the ceremony continued without a designated presenter. Barrymore promised in a statement that she would return to host the program in 2024. The MTV Movie & TV Awards are "pivoting away from a live event" by airing a pre-recorded version of the ceremony in response to reports that striking Writers Guild of America members planned to picket at the Santa Monica Barker Hangar, where the event is being filmed. Executive producer Bruce Gillmer said this in a statement to CNN. Flashback clips from previous MTV Movie & TV Awards events, which made up the vast portion of the show, and pre-recorded remarks from winners were both parts of that pivot during the telecast.
