James couldn't quite believe his luck. Ever since he'd been kidnapped and locked into a room in Harrison’s house, lucky was the last thing he’d felt like. Pain and fear had dominated every waking moment. But now he did have some luck, finally. The cuffs Harrison usually had him restrained by hadn't locked properly and James could slip out of them. Carefully he made his way over to the door. Not locked either, but that wasn't so strange given he was usually chained and wouldn't be able to escape anyway.

Walking hurt, every step sent waves of pain through his body but James couldn't stop. He had to get out. James walked as silently as he could, wincing every time a floorboard creaked slightly under his feet. By how his heart was racing in his chest, James expected Harrison to step out of the shadows and grab him. An escape attempt surely wouldn't be well met. No, he had to make sure he wasn't caught; he'd likely not get another chance like this.

When James got closer to the front door he finally started to feel hopefully, maybe he really could do this, maybe he could get out–

“Well now, what do we have here?”

James was just about to reach out for the door when the voice startled him. He nearly jumped out of his skin and spun around to see Harrison standing a few feet away with an amused, smug smile on his face. “Did you really think you’d be able to escape?”

Panic set it and James quickly turned back around, frantically trying to get the door open. His heart raced, and it didn't take long before Harrison grabbed him by the shoulder and pulled him back. 

“No!” James screamed and thrashed against Harrison's grip, to no avail. “No, please!” He begged with tears in his eyes, consumed by fear because he knew what waited now.

Harrison just laughed. “Really, James. I thought you would've known better than to fall for that, but I’m glad you did. This was fun.” He pulled James along, who was sobbing and pleading with Harrison not to hurt him. But of course he would, and that scared James so much.

since I'm watching those episodes: how are your OCs affected by Flashpoint?

Is this is a safe space to admit I will not be doing Flashpoint in the Morgan AU (and its AU spinoffs) 😅 so Morgan and James are not affected, since it doesn't happen.

However...I haven't ruled out the idea of writing an AU spin-off that does feature Flashpoint, it's something I've been on-and-off considering. And in that case (do keep in mind that these are not finalized by any means, I'm just spitballing...and this does not address consequences, only their lives in the Flashpoint timeline specifically):

Morgan: raised as Jesse Morgan Wells, which means everyone calls her "Jesse", and as with s3 in canon, she's currently in her second year of college and...is either already or about to turn 18. Both her parents, Harrison and Tess, are alive and well, as is her godmother, Tina, whom she calls "Aunt Tina" and loves very much (thus the tragic trio is intact). She worked at Jitters for a bit and thus knows Iris, and Barry's tutoring her in Organic Chem. Barry and Iris, though, still aren't friends, because Morgan hasn't really had any reason to connect them - Barry and Iris in Flashpoint aren't friends, and our Barry ofc wouldn't mention Iris because he has no reason to think Morgan knows her. Though it probably accidentally slips out, and that is how the Westallen reunion can happen (much better than canon, if you ask me)

(and yes, this would be the new life RF!Morgan is given too. Very trippy for her Barry, who at this point would not like her (at mildest))

James: Probably very little tbh. He'd still meet Morgan, they'd still become fast friends and probably eventually date. Things regarding their relationship post-1x15 would unfold slightly differently (I can't give too many details, because spoilers), but they'd still end up being close, just like they do in the main timeline. Some people are just meant to be in your lives 💞

Hopefully that answers your question! I have quite a few gripes with Flashpoint in the show, and while I could fix them, I also have...other plans for the AU that allow me to just get rid of Flashpoint (and its consequences, which is really what I'm glad to be rid of) entirely. When I said I was overhauling the Savitar arc, I meant it 😅

(Jesse and Aminah, ofc, would not be affected regardless due to being from another Earth. Reyna in her own AU is, ofc, from the future, so Flashpoint doesn't affect her)

His primary objective is to keep the aliens from spreading. 📚 Harrison Darcy (OC) An archeologist who discovers traces of the Engineers on Earth and boards the Prometheus to search for the origins of humanity. Infection - James and Harrison

@whumpcember day 11: infection

Shivers wracked James' body. He was so so cold, yet his face felt warm and flushed. To add to his misery, James felt dizzy and had a horrible headache which mingled together with the pain from the wounds inflicted by Harrison. That was the source, James was sure of it. The familiar symptoms indicated a fever, and even though the cuts and lacerations were hidden by clothes and bandages so he couldn't see for sure, James was sure at least one of them had gotten infected. Wouldn't be surprising since the environment he was in definitely wasn't sterile. Neither were the tools Harrison used, though he seemed to be good at keeping them clean.

The door opened and James winced as Harrison stepped inside. “Please no… I don't feel good…” He mumbled and squeezed his eyes shut. No more pain, not today when he was feeling so awful already.

“No?” Harrison chuckled. “You know you don't get to say n- oh… You really don't look good.” Slight surprise filled Harrison’s voice and James flinched as he placed a hand on his forehead. The expected pain didn't come, though. Harrison’s skin just felt colder than usual against his.

“Damn, you're really warm. Seems like you're running a fever. Sit up, I need to check if any of your wounds are infected.”

Huh? James opened his eyes slowly. The words didn't quite make sense. This wasn't really what he would've expected from his captor.

“I said sit up!” Harrison got impatient and pulled him up in a sitting position. The movement hurt and his head spun, making James whimper. He didn't want to sit up, it hurt too much and he was so tired. Still, he knew better than to argue with Harrison when he started taking off his shirt and unwrapping his bandages. It confused him, though. Why would Harrison care this much if he got sick?

“Ah, that’s probably the one. I’ll clean that, and the rest while I’m at it. Will try to get some antibiotics as well.” Harrison explained and stepped away.

James looked up at him from behind heavy eyelids. “Why do you care if I’m sick?” He mumbled, confused.

“I’m not gonna let you die from infection, James. When you die it will be because I want you dead and I’ll do it myself.”

“Oh...” James wasn't sure how to feel about that. It was a relief that Harrison was gonna let him die, but it definitely seemed that Harrison had plans to kill him one day.
