i actually cannot wait for nya to watch her friends’ relationships flourish , to watch pixal and zane finally embrace for the first time in years and return to their lives , to watch roby and wyfy sit shoulder to shoulder at the table together happily, to watch cole and geo just be themselves and be close and in love and together , all for her to stare at old photos of her and jay together and have to face the fact that he doesn’t remember her . he doesn’t remember their time together , how many sacrifices they’ve made for each other . he doesn’t even know her , and he hates her .

and she just has to … live with that, while her friends are happy, while they get to live with their partners and feel joy and love in a way that she is becoming so sure that she’ll never feel again in her life . and she’ll encourage them , too , because if she can’t be happy, then at least her friends can

like we’ve known og jay was embarrassingly in love with her. like violently so. cartoon hearts around the head level blah blah blah

so now i need nya to be the one who’s down bad. i need her to suffer. i need her to look at this weird amnesiac version of him and think woah i still love him i Need him . and i know they’re probably gonna do this to an extent but i need her pining so pathetically it’s insane

I really needed to doodle this before i slept. I like the idea of Cole being the only other person who can see ghost Jay. I also like the idea that sora doesn’t even know Jay follows her, but idk, I also like him telling her about how her powers work etc. and for people who don’t wanna click the link, the au is basically Jay dies during the merge and let’s his power pass on to someone else. Instead of sora having “tech” power, it’s lightning, but she uses it to jumpstart her mechs and tech etc. the angst and humor is just too good to pass up

Tim I noticed a lot of indigenous patches on your jacket, are you Native?

Idk what my dad was 'cause I never knew him, but yeah my mom is (or... Was.. I guess..) Muscogee, the tribe native to the part of Alabama I'm in.

If I remember correctly she came to Alabama from Oklahoma (where a lot of Natives were displaced to in the 1800s) to "get back to her roots."

But yknow, I was separated from her in childhood (which tbh is upsettingly common for Native families) and I was raised in a very white very Catholic asylum so I'm not as connected to the culture as I'd like to be.

Anyone else get a little bit nauseous when they watch s2p2 e20 and the powers are going back to people and jays power veers away from the rest. Like it’s just a little thing but for some reason it’s so impactful 😭 i don’t even know why cheby do u know why

It’s because Jay’s entire tiny character arc in ndr for season 1 and two revolves around the fact that he feels entirely alone. he’s lost, he doesn’t fit in anywhere, and he’s so desperate for a family that he’ll follow anyone or anything that gives him hope that he can find one . he hates the administration, but he stays with them because they’re providing him a sense of purpose, somewhere with people , some fucked up place he can call home because he knows nothing else.

but he immediately turns on them when ras goes to him, convinces him that ras cares for him, NEEDS him, because he was once important to ras . he trusts ras blindly because he’s desperate . jay never would have left if ras hadn’t lied to him and used his loneliness and amnesia against him

ras knows what he’s doing too btw . “the merge left him without his memories. lost, alone, and friendless. i found him. helped him when no one else did.”

jay’s lightning diverging from the path of the rest of the elements is sickening to me because it really does signify just how alone he is, how separated he is from everyone else. and it really is especially awful to watch, because of all the characters in ninjago, jay is the one who needs family the MOST . jay relies on people to feel happy, to feel content, and he has no one . he doesn’t even have HIMSELF anymore because he SHATTERED HIS SOUL

if i were him I’d be pretty fucking spiteful right now too … whatever he does next season I am 100% standing by him this has been a long time coming

All I can imagine is @vincent-is-vintage’s nick giving jay this. And jay being taken aback because who gives him things? And now it’s on his nightstand forever…and it’s just a blank card with a peacock and the word 𝐸𝓍𝓉���𝒶𝑜𝓇𝒹𝒾𝓃𝒶𝓇𝓎
