Cross wands-a generically titled comedy/somewhat creepy Hogwarts legacy romance.
AUTHOR NOTE:
First off I don’t own the Harry Potter series this is merely fan work and I don’t own Hogwarts legacy as a franchise OR AS A GAME. No I don’t own the game, no one makes money off of me writing anything so don’t @ me complaining.
“No…”
The pearlescent sheen of Amortentia shudders with your own shaking view, your hands gripping the desk become sweaty.
“No, it can’t be…” you desperately bargain against fate, despite knowing the cards are already well in place.
They’ve been so for many months.
However only now can you admit it.
Your shaking gets worse, you swallow loudly, glancing over at one of the large glass containers-only to see Sebastian standing right behind you in the reflection, silent but clearly unnerved by your flustered demeanour. After all, you can’t remember a time when you felt so powerless, a time when a single emotion had you pressed like a pin into a cork board.
“Hey…you ok?” Sebastian asks after he realises that your looking at him via the reflection.
You merely lower your head and let out a shuddering breath.
No, no I am not.
Sebastian starts to speak, no doubt some useless ‘I’ve got your back buddy, lets talk about it while I teach you illegal curses.’ Spiel.
Pathetic.
How can you even think about such frivolous time wasting when he needs you.
Luckily the moment Sebastian begins to talk, Professor Sharps voice cuts through the room announcing the end of class.
You make a large arcing wand movement, so utterly dramatic that it does the intended job and scares Sebastian back several feet as your potions equipment flings round you in a deterring makeshift shield before shrinking down as it dives back into your bag. With Sebastian stunned you take your chance and leave.
—————————————
“Hey-Hey wait!”
But you won’t.
Sebastian continues to call as you shove through the crowd without mercy.
Imelda squawks as she’s shouldered into the wall, Natty is shoved forward and crashes into Garreth who is almost backhanded out the way when he stops to turn and see what’s happened.
The path clear, you run.
He needs you.
——————————————
Sebastian had gotten through the crowd and was back on your tail.
You aren’t sure how but one thing is for certain, he will not stop you, he is merely the hopeful dog that must be lost as it attempts to follow a stranger for food.
Luckily your galavanting into cave systems and following the keepers trails has kept you very fit, fit enough that you turn sharply at a corridor and make a beeline up to the Astronomy tower.
——————————————————————
Your breaths are becoming ragged.
You knew the steps to the Astronomy tower, had done them several times.
But you’d never flat out run up them.
It doesn’t matter, you’re nearly there, the blue and gold theming coming into view as you round the top of the final staircase, almost dizzy from following the spiralling staircase for so long.
You dart past the classroom, a place you’d usually love to stop and marvel at but not today.
Proffesor Shah barely has time to look up from her desk before your passed her and continuing up the last set of rickety wooden stairs. The wooden slats are passing you by so fast, you feel like you’re ur about to faint-
No, I must get to him!
Finally you reach the Astronomy deck, almost tripping over yourself as the vertical stairs become flat wood. You stagger to the side, letting out a donkey like wheeze before dragging your exhausted body to the railing separating you from a perilous drop. Wincing at your screaming thighs you shakily get both feet on the top railing, strangely well balanced despite the the narrow metal ledge. For a minute you stop to catch your breath, appreciate the wind blowing against your non-standard uniform, tousling your hair.
The view, it’s fantastic, he would love it.
“For fucks sake man will you stop!” You startle, almost losing your balance before unsteadily turning round to face an exhausted Sebastian as he shakily climbs the last few stairs, one hand grasping at a stitch in his abdomen the other pulling himself up on the railing like it’s the hardest thing he’s ever had to do.
“Please!” He begs, pink faced, drool dripping from his mouth as he openly pants like an energised dog.
Gross.
Well, kind of hot but the only one you want to see drooling is still a fair distance away.
“What in Merlin’s name is going on up-oh my heavens!” Proffesor Shah shrieks as she almost trips back down the stairs she’s hurried up, seeing you standing on the ledge.
Before the Indian women can gather herself, you fling out your hands and fall back, letting gravity drag you down.
“Noooo!!” Sebastian wails in heartbreaking despair, his single word ending a sob while Professor Shah lets out her own agonised cry at seeing a student fling themself off the Astronomy tower.
You close your eyes as you drop, knowing that despite the pain they will undoubtedly recover.
Especially since you whip out you broom and mount it in one fluid motion, returning high enough for both others to see you as you speed towards your destination.
Realising what you’ve done, Sebastian let’s out a furious, horse bellow of ‘YOU LITTLE CUNT!!’ While Professor Shah sounds like she’s having a heart attack from your sudden re-emergence.
You swing off your broom as soon as you reach the front entrance to the clock tower and immediately regret stalling for so long as a practise round of crossed wands has started. It seems several students from potions had come straight here. Natty and Eric are duelling Hector and Charlotte.
With a furious cry you storm in, drawing all attention before sending a Depulso that sends Charlotte flying across the room, Levioso Hector straight up into the swinging pendulum with a reverberating clang. You sprint at Eric who’s face screws up in terror before morphing to pain as you drive your fist across his face then shoulder him into Natty sending the girl falling with a shriek.
There!-finally he’s right in front of you!
You can’t help but let out a low raspy gasp as you stagger towards him.
He’s frozen in either confusion or fear and oh god he smells like smoke, the resulting smoke of magic crashing into brick and stone mixed with leather from the quidditch gear he wears when flying.
And rubber from that damn rubber ball he bounces with such skill it-oh Merlin his confidence is so hot.
“…Can I help you.” He finally manages to squeak out, rubber ball rolling across the floor while he stares paralysed at you.
You’re rather paralysed yourself. The clean pale face, curly black hair, kind brown eyes-he’s so damn cute.
“I-I know your still setting up the next round of crossed wands but…I’d like to suggest a matchup?” You manage to say, stumbling over your words as you gaze into those deep eyes.
He nods dumbly, soft lips parted.
Cute.
Swallowing your fear you step towards him, you tower over him by nearly an entire foot but he isn’t scared, house of the brave and it suits him. Slowly you raise your hand and clasp his smaller one in it.
“I was thinking…me and you? Maybe at Hogsmeade sometime?” You say, desperately trying not to let your voice shake.
There’s a brief moment as he glances at your combined hands before he slowly closes his fingers around yours. Then he smiles at you.
“I’d like that.” He says softly.
Slowly, with small movements your heads come together until you’re inches away from a kiss-
“WHAT THE ACTUAL FUCK ARE YOU DOING!?!?”
Unfortunately your tender moment with Lucan distracted you from hearing Sebastian catch up with you once more and you turn around straight into a stupefy.
You get a weeks detention. Sebastian ends up with a total of four weeks. A week for every time he attacks you in the hallways over the following week. However it isn’t the only thing that happens continually that week.
Natty ‘accidentally’ uses her Animagus form and slams her back hooves into you with enough force to send you into the black lake While your standing on the boardwalk. Imelda curses your broom. Charlotte jinx’s you in charms, Hector sends you dirty looks and Garreth tries to poison you but stops at the last minute before you drink your ‘pumpkin juice’ because you comment that you like his hair.
He says he thinks what you did was mean through his sobs but is willing to forgive you because he’s never received such validation.
Sad.
Regardless, as you stare into Lucans warm brown eyes while you share a smoothie in a little cafe in Hogsmeade, you think it was worth it.
Of course you can’t go much further then a snog because Professor Weasley kindly informed you that ‘He’s twelve and if it goes further then kissing I’ll rip your balls off and feed them to the Kneazles’ all while managing that gentle smile of hers.
But hey, you’ve promised him at some point you’ll cross wands.

════════════════════
Summer had finally arrived: you could tell by the air conditioners, which your colleagues had turned up to maximum, and by the large number of soldiers who were eager for some fresh air.
You could tell the same thing about yourself, even if you were forced to wear long trousers and the white coat: the only relief was the tank top underneath.
And just as you stopped running from room to room and finally sat down at your desk, you heard your name called from across the floor - and the hospital wing of the base was massive.
Pushing yourself to your feet again, you quickly run to the emergency room, where you find two other nurses helping a man lying on the bed, which you recognize only when you get closer: the Commander, Phillip Graves, was bleeding from a stab wound at shoulder level in one of the beds in the emergency room.
You come to your senses immediately and take charge of the situation.
"Keep the pressure on - and you, get an IV, I need antibiotics and a painkiller. Where's the surgeon?" you quickly order as you start to clean the cut: it's deep, but not too much; you're pretty sure he'll survive.
"He's doing another surgery!" you hear from another nurse and curse through clenched teeth.
Freeing him from the heavy equipment, you quickly insert the IV into both arms, allowing the painkiller and antibiotic to enter his body.
Grabbing the first aid kit from another room, you quickly returned to the side of his bed and grabbed whatever was necessary to sew up the wound: you had done it many times before, but this time was almost different.
Second by second, the wound was finally closed, a sigh of relief escaping your lips as you once again cleaned the area to be finally bandaged.
"It was that bad?"
You almost jumped at his voice, finally meeting his piercing gaze.
You missed him.
"It was." You gave him a small smile, trying not to think about your face heating up. "It's much better now."
He hummed in response and returned to his usual behavior: he was a cold man, you never saw him smile, only bitter ones adorned his face.
But you were determined to get all the answers you wanted from him.
"Is there a reason why you always act so cold?" You asked slowly, watching him sneer at you: but you stood your ground, waiting for his answer.
And when he saw your determined look, he surrendered, much to his surprise: it was not like him to give in so quickly.
"I don't want to get close." He says slowly, choosing his words carefully. He felt different. "In this job, if you get close to someone, you're bound to lose them eventually."
You listened to his words, his tone deep and sad, his lips pulled into a sad grimace as he stares blankly at the ceiling.
A sigh escaped your lips, ignoring the pain in your chest. "You need to rest. Use the button if you need anything," you force a smile and leave his side - even if you don't want to.
You try to force yourself to leave him alone, but you've never been able to push away your feelings for him that have grown over time. Something about him attracted you, the desire to know him - the desire to really get to know him, to get over the wall he had built, to be close to him because you had grown too fond of him. His presence had always given you a sense of security that you had never had with other men before him or with anyone else. You had learned to rely on yourself as much as he did.
He had never liked the idea of showing himself to be weak or vulnerable, climbing the ranks one by one until he became Commander, no longer needing anyone close to him to make him himself.
But it became inevitable with time, and he knew it well.
And he did not understand how a medic had broken through to his heart without him even realizing it.
¤
Some time passed, and the days went by, but your mind kept going back to Phillip lying on the hospital bed with a wound that could have killed him if no one had intervened in time.
You couldn't get him out of your mind for even a moment, and found yourself constantly searching for him with your eyes when you weren't busy with sick patients or filling out piles of paperwork.
It was as if he had left a bitter taste in your mouth, something you wanted to get rid of once and for all. You hated floating in the sea of doubt, the thousand unanswered questions you were slowly drowning in.
Your legs moved by themselves, looking lost in the nothing, the end of another day weighing on your shoulders like a rock that you simply wanted to forget, unaware of where you were going when you bumped into somebody, but ready to apologize when you realized who the person in front of you was - the Commander.
"Hi..." you try, realizing that maybe it was the right moment and that you would not be so lucky to meet him alone a second time.
"Hey." he seems nervous, you can see it in his eyes, which are wandering around except on you.
You let out a shaky breath, your heart beating hard and fast in your chest. It's now or never.
"The other day you said something about..." the words died in your throat as fear took over, making your face flush with embarrassment.
"I said I didn't want to get close to anyone," he finishes for you, finally looking directly into your eyes.
"But it can't always be like that, can it?" you try, somehow realizing that he was really close to you, feeling his gaze fixed on you, your hands shaking from the fear that was overwhelming your senses.
"People die every day," he begins, involuntarily pushing you against the wall, his nose almost brushing against yours. "I've seen too many people die before my eyes - half of them not even realizing it when a bullet went through their head. Or others who died in agony, knowing their time was coming." His lower lip trembled, his eyes filled with tears as you realized that in front of you was a man who had been hurt by too much pain and too many responsibilities that weighed on him and that he wanted to get rid of, even if only for ten minutes.
He realizes that your hands were touching him, caressing his face, while your eyes were on his own, realizing that even you had to see how death takes many people, even women or children.
Both of you witnessed the horror of war, saw too much blood in both of your hands, maybe when you tried to save someone, but did not succeed every time.
You know well that he doesn't get close to anyone, but when his lips touch yours, you understand that deep down he really wants to. And he really tries, even when your skin touches and brushes against each other, seeking a bit of comfort in each other, while outside the window the whole world is at war, breath mixing in an attempt to warm each other, to warm two hearts that have not been able to open for far too long.

ATTENTION CREEPYPASTA FANS
hiiiiii i kinda wanna write some hcs/self insert stuff but im kinda stumped on who and what to write; especially since its been a while since ive written for these characters (a while = about a month?? give or take)
so! i'll be opening requests for creepypasta characters, a 'short' run down of my rules below + characters i write for + some info regarding how i write certain characters that may or may not be important
i apologize for any typos and mistakes for this post, im back to writing on my silly computer!! formatting may be a little whack as well, but that parts more so because idk how i wanna structure these side posts
Tumblr media
it should be said right now that the way i write these characters leans very heavy on my own personal interpretation/au rather than ideas that the bulk of the fandom has (although, to be fair, i havent interacted much with the current state of the fandom, im kinda stuck in 2016 </3) so personalities or worldbuilding/common ideas may be different or totally absent in my writing
will not write;
this blog does not allow explicit nsfw material, at most there will be suggestive jokes or themes but it will likely never ever be the main theme of the post!
basic nono criteria, no gross stuff
personally i dont like writing prompts surrounded by cheating so most likely i wont write it
anything overly graphic (gorey), yes i understand that this is creepypasta but there are some things that i just simply wont write; however implied/minor gore is allowed to an extent
really asides from that im mostly chill with anything, but on the off chance you send in something that makes me uncomfy/a request i feel i cant fulfill, i will do my best to communicate that
ohoh also! unfortunately i do not take oc requests :(! no hate to oc x canon, esp since im part of that community, but i just dont trust myself to be able to do justice or your oc TToTT
if i turn down a request it is nothing against you or your wants, please do not take it personally ^^;
will write;
fluff and angst, along with specific scenarios! im fine with most angst but as said above, if a prompt cannot be done i will communicate that!
the reader by default is GN/is not referred to with pronouns outside of like. they/you/your, the POV i write in is kinda inconsistent tbh ,, but i am comfy with writing for specific genders + trans readers, although i admit im not sure how much pronouns or gendered things will come into play unless gender is the main point of the request
im fine with poly! though ive yet to actually. write poly
i dont just write romantic hcs! im down with platonic/familial ones as well!
again im not at all picky with things, and once again, i will communicate if something cant be done
added thing since im not sure where else to put it! by default i write short hcs and scenarios, short fics being very rare on this acc since im not confident in my writing; so !! yeah!! there isnt a real limit to how many characters you can ask for per request but it should be noted that the more characters there are, the shorter each section will likely be
list of characters i will write for!
if a character has a * by their name there will be added notes on how i write for them/special rules stated after the list
Slenderman
Trenderman
Splendorman
Masky/Tim*
Hoodie/Brian*
Laughing Jack
Eyeless Jack
Ticci Toby**
Jeff*
Jane*
Ben*
Nina*
Puppeteer*
Bloody Painter*
Zalgo*(?)
added character notes:
for characters that are minors in their source (jeff, jane, ben, and toby and nina) i will not be writing any romantic hcs; thats just a personal boundary of mine and while i dont think its particually gross or problematic depending on context, its not something i myself feel comfortable writing for! however i am more than willing to write platonic or family hcs for the characters stated above!
onto the proxies! im still figuring out how i wanna write them but i wanted to blend together the creepypasta take and the og marble hornets version into something new (mostly for my au) however due to my brain forgetting most the stuff that happens in MH (i gotta rewatch it, bad) it more so leans into the creepypasta take of these characters! i also by default write tim and masky as different characters, and the same for brian !!
main reason for puppeteer and bloody painter having the star is because im not too well versed in their lore but im willing to write them! though i am struggling to find a consistent source on helens age so ill be going off the fandom wiki (with a grain of salt) that hes in his 20s-
zalgo is a weird case because in my au he does indeed exist but also isnt?? okay so hes more so this untouchable being/mostly nontangible; like the dude is more so like a sentient force of nature bordering on something incomprehensible rather than being a person; more of a concept if anything... but because i want a challenge, and because i need to flesh him out in general im making him an available character!
but yeah i think thats mostly it! this post ended up being longer than i intended but i fully blame that on me being totally incapable of shortening things down 😭😭

i fckng hate second chances with every fiber of my being and every living cell in my body. once its over, its over. if u fckd up IMMEDIATELY ✂️✂️✂️ i hate it when a characters get second chances after fckng it up real bad like NO U DO NOT DESERVE ANOTHER CHANCE AND OTHER MC ALSO DOES NOT DESERVE TO RISK GETTING HURT AGAIN
on the contrary tho, for btl, i do think yn should get another chance? is it another chance? well, wonbin didnt really give her a chance to explain herself, he went ahead of himself and created assumptions. and i know that every one says yn is the problem cus had she not offered the fake dating set up this wouldnt have happened BUT wonbin had no problem agreeing to it so....wouldnt really say yn is the root problem. the root problem is their lack of effective communication skills, emotional management/control and listening skills!!! wonbin im sorry but running away was a stupid af thing to do and i know ur hurt but u literally made assumptions after seeing 2ppl hug. babes ppl can hug platonically, believe me. thats all i have to say. *bows, drops mic and leaves stage*
im sorry for the sudden rant when this discourse was already over like a week ago i could not help it. ive been following u for a while but i am a silent reader and this is my first time sending an ask to anyone here in general. im so nervous. is my english okay? i swear i know proper punctuations but im too lazy to do it rn rip. i just want to say ive never been so invested in an eng au cus i usually read the ones in my native language cus THEM ANGST HIT DIFFERENT BRO anyway, i love ur writing sm <33 makes me wanna start writing again as well if it werent for my busy af shed (graduating student things). cant wait for the next updates ✨️🫶🫶
but the angst material is tew gewd don’t you think? second chances trope is nice and all if done right 🤪 maybe some groveling here and there and viola! perfection
most valid btl theory ive seen 😫 they’re both dumb 🤝 and did mistakes,, (yn made a bigger mistake tho) but point still stands
nah ur sudden rant about the week old discourse is perfectly okay. any rant about btl is 👌 cus im curious on how each person takes in the story and seeing a bunch of different reactions is what keeps me going 😫🤝 AND AGAIN IM HONORED TO BE ONE OF THE FIRST PEOPLE YOU SENT AN ASK TO 🙏 your english is great!!!! thank you so much for reading!! and i hope whatever i put out or something makes u want to go back to writing 🙏 i myself is a graduating student too but i still find the time to insert my hobby which is this because i love it so much and its honestly my stress reliever (contrary to popular belief i write more eloquently when i’m either stressed or having a headache idek why lol maybe it gets my brain juice all worked up)

ER Nurse Rafe x ER Nurse Reader
Sooo this is disgusting but it actually happened to me and I need to write an ER Nurse Rafe fic. I apologize in advanced.
But WARNING: this fic is not for the faint of heart. Mentions of a bug in a body cavity.
Also, I just want to mention: there are very few things that gross me out any more and even this wasn’t that bad for me when it happened, but it is for y/n because every nurse has a thing that still freaks them the fuck out. (Mine is eyeballs. Like exophthalmos or any time an eye is like not properly in its socket lol)
It was a Friday evening and you were SLAMMED in the emergency department. And as a new grad nurse you still struggled with your time management, so you, especially, were drowning.
Rafe having had a few years under his belt was barely breaking a sweat, while you as a people pleaser on the other hand, had a hard time cutting a patient off from telling you their life story. So Rafe noticed you struggling and of course, hated seeing you stressed.
Last time you were at work, Rafe had extra time so he looked at your patients’ charts and what needed to be done for your patients and just did it.
...You were pissed. You told Rafe you could never learn if you didn’t struggle and how you didn’t want your boyfriend helping you like that at work. That you wanted ownership over your nursing practice.
So tonight, Rafe came over to you as you were starting an IV, “you want me to hang your antibiotics for you for bed 4? Then, I can swab 6 and insert the foley for 9?”
“Rafe! Did you not hear anything I said last time?! I need to do stuff myself, I don’t need my hot shot boyfriend coming to save the day like I’m some damsel in distress. Treat me like another frickin nurse on the floor and not your girlfriend!” You all but yelled at him while your patient laid practically unconscious on the gurney as you started his IV.
“Wow. Okay. I was just trying to help. And for the record, I would have tried to help you catch up regardless of us dating because like it or not babe, you’re a new grad and frankly, you’re falling behind. So if you’re not gonna let me help you, you better step it up. But no worries, I heard you loud and clear.” Rafe shot back at you before he turned and left.
You immediately felt guilty. Rafe was just trying to help and you know he would have offered it, even if you weren’t his girlfriend. But you also became even more pissed. 1. Because you were stressed 2. You know he threw some of what he said in there because he was pissed too.
The rest of the shift you and Rafe kept sending each other dirty looks when you’d pass each other. But Rafe still had to stop himself from trying to help you. Instead, he focused on helping every other nurse on the floor.
At one point, you got another admission. An older homeless gentleman who had a whole mess of issues in addition to the fact that he was NOT well-taken care of. He had scabies which already gave you the heebie jeebies and then this happened:
“Okay sir, we got you set up with pain meds, fluids, antibiotics and a sandwich. Is there anything else I can do for you right now?” You asked.
“Well, there’s just something in my ear thas buggin me. Can ya look at it?” He asked, gesturing to his ear.
“Sure, let me look.” And as you flashed your pen light over his ear your heart dropped. You saw legs? And …wings? Oh my god. That is the ass of a cockroach sticking out of this mans ear.
Cockroaches were your BIGGEST fear. You immediately leaned back and shut your eyes tightly.
“Well? Is der somethin in there?” Your patient asked.
“Mhmm. Yeah…. There’s definitely something in there. I’m going to try to get it out. Let me go get some supplies.” You said, trying to remain as calm as possible.
You scurried toward the supply room where Rafe and Estephany were chatting. You closed the door behind you and they both looked at the distressed look on your face as you leaned your back against the door and took a deep breath.
“My patient has a cockroach in their ear and I have to get it out!” You blurted out quickly, mostly to Estephany because you weren’t talking to Rafe.
Estephany looked horrified. Rafe looked amused knowing you had an irrational fear of the insect after you screamed bloody murder and jumped on top of him when you saw one scurrying near dumpster as you walked downtown on a date once.
“Ewwww! That’s disgusting! How does that even happen?!” Estephany asked.
“I don’t know but I can’t do this.” You whined.
“Wish I could help you girl, but I’m taking my patient to CT.” Estephany said and left quickly and frankly did not sound sorry at all that she couldn’t help.
Rafe just stayed in his spot leaning against a shelf with his arms crossed and an expression on his face that told you he was both still mad, but also amused because he knew what was coming.
“Rafe?” You asked softly.
“What? Are you ready to apologize for yelling at me earlier?” He asked.
“No.” You declared indignantly and offended that he expected an apology.
“Oh, mkay then, have fun getting a cockroach out of your patient’s ear, rookie. I hope it’s not alive.” He said, starting to walk past you.
“Rafe wait. ...please? Can you help me?” You begged, not able to fake a tough front anymore.
“I’m sorry, I thought you didn’t want your hot shot boyfriend helping you at work?” He asked using your words against you.
You glared at him and let your shoulders fall as you took a deep breath, “Rafe, come on, you know this is my worst fear.”
His face softened ever so slightly, but he didn’t say anything. You swallowed your pride and pushed away your attitude that always made it hard for you to apologize.
“I’m sorry. ...I’m sorry I yelled at you and I know we all help each other here and that I especially am supposed to ask for help as a new nurse. I just get self-conscious when it’s you who’s helping me because even though no one knows about us yet, I don’t like feeling like I need my boyfriend’s help being a nurse. It’s just something I still need to work on.” You finished and peeked up at him and he offered you a small smile.
“I know. And I know you were stressed back there. I really did hear you the other day. I’m not going to help you more or do you things for you that you should do yourself just because were dating. I really am helping you with stuff I would help anyone with. You’re a badass nurse, but you really do need to ask for help before you get to the point that you’re drowning like you were tonight. We all need to ask for help, it’s not something you need to be ashamed of.”
“I know. ...Thank you.” You said sweetly.
“Alright, come on, let’s go pull this roach out of your guy’s ear.” Rafe said guiding you out of the supply room with his hands squeezing your shoulders.
“But you’re gonna do it, right?” You asked.
“Only because I’m scared you might literally pass out trying.” Rafe said.
“Thanks for always saving me Rafe.”
“You don’t need to be saved, Y/N. But I will always be here for you, promise.”
You let your heart melt before you remembered what you and Rafe needed to go do, so you squeezed his hand and then took a deep breath.
“Okay Joe, this is Rafe. He’s gonna help us get that thing in your ear out.”

“Record number 8-A237,” Lena began after she started the recording device. “My hypothesis was supported, with the subject showing many signs of becoming the alter ego. They are not aware of doing so. The subject has described the experience as a blackout, with no memory after they regain consciousness and limited memory before it happens. All events coincide with each other, between the blackouts and the attacks on the city, which provides some evidence that when the subject does lose consciousness, they become the rogue Kryptonian. As of now, I don’t know what the trigger is for transformation, though anger seems to be one of them. Subject has been kept in a medically induced coma but to proceed with further testing, I will need them awake. I’ll begin the waking process now.”
Lena ended the recording and fiddled with the IV that was inserted into you. She watched as you slowly gained consciousness, your face scrunching as you fought the fatigue that was weighing you down. When Lena saw that you were coming around, she stepped away from your side and exited the testing area, touching a switch on her tablet to activate the defense systems.
“Y/n, can you hear me?”
You groaned as you blinked your eyes open, and then you released a heavy sigh, sitting up and rubbing your face.
“Hey, Lena,” you croaked, your mouth incredibly dry. “What’s going on?”
She was apprehensive as she looked at you, and you looked at her in confusion. You noticed that she moved you away from the other hospital bed and put you into a room that was built like a bomb shelter. You also noticed that Lena was standing considerably far away. Slowly you got to your feet and approached her.
“Lena, why are you over-”
You yelped when you ran face first into something. It cut you off mid sentence and you were left standing there as you rubbed your nose.
“What…?”
You reached out and touch an invisible wall, a forcefield of some sort, and when you looked at Lena again, you stared at her with baffled shock.
“What are you doing?” you demanded. Lena squared her shoulders and looked you dead in the eyes.
“I’ve figured out what happens to you when you black out.”
You were getting pissed. Her use of imprisonment on you made you incensed and you had to force yourself to take a few deep breaths. You would, at the very least, hear her out.
“What happens?”
“You become Reign.”
There was a moment of tense silence when you stared at her, and she stared right back at you. When Lena didn’t say anything, you frowned and gave her a dirty look.
“That’s not funny,” you said lowly.
“Think about it, Y/n. Every time you disappeared, she appeared and every time she disappeared, you appeared. It’s a truth that I need you to know.”
“Lena, this isn’t funny,” you said again, your voice getting louder. “I came to you for help and accusing me of being that homicidal alien maniac is the opposite of what I need.”
Lena sighed and scratched her eyebrow.
“I was there for you when Edge accused you of poisoning kids. Be there for me!”
Lena hoped that it wouldn’t come to this, where she would have to force you to see yourself in the mirror, but she was all out of options. If she wanted you to accept the truth quickly, then you would have to see it for yourself. There wasn’t another option, or at least one that wouldn’t take up so much time.
“Please forgive me, Y/n.” You just stared at her as she straightened her shoulders. Then it was like someone flipped a switch. You watched her as she turned cold, and she regarded you with a sneer.
“I’m surprised that you don’t see it, Y/n,” she spat at you. “It’s glaring at you, flashing at you like a neon sign and you refuse to accept the truth.”
“Because it isn’t real!” you countered.
“God, how naïve! You are a threat, Y/n! To all of National City, you are a menace. Don’t you realized what you’ve done? The people you’ve killed?”
You squeezed your eyes closed as you blocked out her words. No! She was wrong! Lena was lying to you. Why would she say such horrible things? Why was she treating you this way?
“You asked me for my help and here it is. You’ve hurt people, Y/n. You’ve killed innocent people! You even put Supergirl in a coma!”
The walls were closing in on you, suffocating you with a violent mixture of terror and anger. Lena’s words were hurting you. They were scaring you and they cut so deep. You would never hurt anyone, let alone kill them. How could she think that you were capable of that?
“I never should have turned to you for help!” you screamed at her. “I should have known better than to trust a Luthor!”
“People will trust in me before they trust in you,” she retorted calmly. “At least I’ve never killed anyone and enjoyed doing so. I’ve never harmed people close to me! I’m. Not. A. Monster!”
Her last few words were what did it. The anger, hate, and fear that was growing inside of you, kept swelling and swelling until it finally burst. You screamed in anguish, the cry loud as it echoed off the walls. You hated her! You hated Lena for what she was doing to you! You hated yourself for not knowing the truth! And you hated the possibility that what she was saying might be true! You hated everything! All you could do was scream and scream as your turbulent emotions consumed you. They blocked out the light. They blocked out your rational thinking, and soon there was no room to think about anything anymore.
***
Lena watched with sorrow as Reign took you over. You screamed and screamed as you shot out your heat vision erratically. Your fingers were curled into claws as you struck everything in sight. Her heart ached for you, and she hated that she put you through this, but you needed to see this with your own eyes. She knew that it wouldn’t be enough to just say that you were Reign. You had to witness it for yourself.
Lena clenched her jaw as she watched you destroy the room in a fit of rage. You crashed against the barrier as you tossed things around with ease, your cries and tears calling freely from your body.
“Video recording A-9356,” Lena whispered as she hit the record button.
***
“Y/n…?”
The voice was so far away. It was like a ghost against your eardrums, and you weren’t sure whether or not you’d actually heard it.
“Y/n?”
That one was much louder, and your eyelids snapped open immediately. You were on the ground with debris and crushed remains of the room surrounding you precariously. It was like a bomb went off in the room. Bleary eyed and confused, you sat up and wiped the drying tears on your cheeks.
“What happened?” you groaned. Lena was still there, standing with the tablet in her hands and with a pained expression on her face.
“I need to show you something.”
She touched a prompt and then a video flickered to life on the one computer monitor that you didn’t destroy. You watched a video of yourself doing things that shouldn’t be possible. Your mouth hung open in shock as you destroyed equipment with one punch or when your eyes glowed red with power. This was you, and you were raging. Anger and fury vibrated off of you and every time you roared on screen, shudders ripped from your body in spasms.
“Turn it off,” you whispered but Lena kept playing it.
You watched as heat vision shot from your eyes. You watched as you ripped whole machines apart….
You realized that you were Reign.
Lena had told you the truth. You were a monster. You were a killer, and as the video kept playing, you also realized that you were about to be sick.
“Please, Lena. Turn it off!” you begged as more tears came to your eyes. Lena switched the video off immediately and removed the barrier from your room. She was by your side, kneeling beside you as you broke down. “Oh god. All those people! I’ve killed people. I’ve…”
Your eyes grew wide as your hands started to shake. “I put Kara in a coma.”
You looked at Lena who could only stare back sadly.
“I did that. That was me! I put the love of my life in a coma! I almost killed her!”
“No, no, no!” Lena said vehemently as she interjected your downward spiral. “You are not Reign! Don’t punish yourself for things that she did.”
“Then how do you want to explain what’s been happening to me?!”
Lena couldn’t answer. How could she explain? She held you close as she stroked your cheek.
“There may not be an explanation just yet, but you came to me to fix it, okay? Let me fix it.”

SAWBONES
TWO // PULLED TAUGHT
No.
You hadn’t been avoiding him.
You were busy. Taking inventory, filling out incident reports, stocking, taking care of your patients - which, you noticed, had decreased in number over the last couple days. And you knew why.
Someone must’ve been taking better care of their pilots.
Jasti was released the morning after the whole - for lack of a better term - ordeal. She’d heard your violent retching and had banged on the door, asking if you were okay.
Your vision was white, and after about two rounds you were dry heaving. No fucking way, your mind rattled. The revelation shook you to your core. You were happy being unsuspecting, ignorant of the fact that your soulmate had been pittering around D’Qar for literal months while you sat in your office, pissing off FX-7 and berating their antics in your head. The furrow of his eyebrows, the flicker of concern in his eyes at your sudden change in demeanor when you saw his pinky also had ingrained itself in your mind. Lingered every time you shut your eyes. You must’ve stayed in the refresher for an hour or two, senses numbed to Jasti’s incessant banging on the door.
You also weren’t good with conflict, and a conflict this was indeed.
What were you supposed to do? Tell him? Would he even believe you? Ziff said he didn’t trust the concept anymore, too many girls taking advantage of where he once was soft. Exploited that weakness until it was solid beskar.
So no, you didn’t tell him.
You’d stayed busy. He was busy, too. Per your objections, Leia had him and his squadrons flying more recon and actually formulating a real operation to investigate the cargo ship orbiting around Kessel. You’d heard that from whispers in the hallway, and you didn’t really want to venture out for any updates.
Turns out, you wouldn’t have to.
As if your thoughts had summoned him, Poe was dragging a pilot from blue squadron into your medbay, one of their arms around his shoulder, one of his around their waist. His eyes were searching, panicked until they met yours as you flew from your office and threw the pilot onto the first open bed.
“What happened?” You asked, immediately checking for vitals. His skin was burning, clammy. FX-7 recorded his temperature and your heart dropped at the number.
“We were flying back, literally leaving hyperdrive when I was notified Blue Three was having trouble, and could barely steer his x-wing through D’Qar’s orbit.” Poe paused. “His skin is on fire.”
“I’m aware,” you tried not to bite back as you threw FX-7 an IV bag. You also did not dwell on the fact that Poe didn’t even know this pilot’s name. “Do we have hadeira serum?”
“You did inventory,” FX-7 duly responded as he inserted a needle into the pilot’s basilic vein. Poe cringed and looked away, eyes focused on you instead.
You hadn’t really done inventory, and you were cursing yourself for it now.
“Wait,” Poe frowned. “Hadeira? You think he’s got bloodburn?”
“He’s been in with a fever before,” you muttered as you rifled through the cabinet on the opposite wall. Poe followed, barking over your shoulder.
“And you didn’t ground him?”
You paused, closing your eyes for a second and taking a deep breath before returning to your search. You really didn’t need Dameron on his high horse right now, questioning your calls.
It was only fair. You had done it to him, you reminded yourself. That didn’t mean you couldn’t whip around and land one in the middle of his chiseled, ridiculously handsome and symmetrical face. You groaned audibly at not only your thoughts, but your inability to locate the literal life-saving serum.
“Back off, Dameron,” you said between your teeth as you all but sprinted back into your office where you kept the more valuable medicines. You unlocked the closet behind your desk with your hand and entered, eyes scanning the shelves. Once again, Poe followed.
“What’s wrong, doc? Don’t like it when people question your authority?”
You finally turned to him, slightly put off by the fact he was less than a meter away. You didn’t let it show.
“You wanna do this right now?” You raised your eyebrows. He crossed his arms over his chest and the thread around his pinky was directly in your field of vision. You held back the bile that rose in the back of your throat.
“His fever is so high that his blood is boiling right now. Which will kill him. So please, Dameron. If you think this argument is worth more than me finding the serum and saving his life,” you punctuated each word, “keep talking. But I’m not listening.”
Your eyes caught the vials to the right of his head, and he stepped out of the closet and into the expanse of your office as you grabbed the vials and quickly returned to the medbay where FX-7 had started hydrating the pilot. You handed the droid the hadeira serum and FX-7 made quick work of administering.
You let out a long breath. You weren’t totally in the clear, but it was as under control as it could be. Poe gave you a look and you nodded, silently telling him his pilot was okay. For now.
Poe stared at him for a couple moments longer, and once he was satisfied leaving him in the care of FX-7, he kicked your boot lightly.
“Can we talk now?”
Swallowing thickly, you nodded and led him back into your office. Poe sat down in one of the stark white chairs that matched the rest of your office as you locked the medicine closet. You turned around to him but kept your distance.
“What’s there to talk about?”
He bit the inside of his cheeks to keep him from grinning. “I don’t bite, y’know.”
You rolled your eyes, but nonetheless moved closer to him and sat atop your desk.
The red thread floated between the both of you, moving as if it was being jostled by the air currents in the room. Before you could even think, your left hand went to pluck at the string tied near the base of your finger. To your utmost surprise, the now tangible string pulled back due to your force. You let go in shock. The string vibrated and you watched the movement travel to shake the thread connecting to Poe. He coughed, left hand clenching and unclenching his fingers. You watched the action and met his eyes. Once again, he furrowed his brows.
“Why do you keep doing that?”
It was your turn to furrow your brows, and Poe continued, “Y’know. Looking into space and then turning pale like there’s a rancor in here that I don’t see. And then you look at me like it’s my fault?"
It’s now or never, you told yourself. Come clean.
“It’s nothing.” Coward.
Poe dropped the subject. “Anyways, you must’ve been swamped these last few days because you haven’t checked in to hear any updates on the cargo ship.”
Not trusting your voice, you just shrugged as your eyes rested back on the crimson that connected the two of you. Seeing it was definitely a curse. You tried not to dwell on how different things would be if it was Poe that could see it. What a weight off your shoulders that would be.
Maybe if he could see it, it wouldn’t be you on the other end, the voice in head told you. Poe was still rambling about Kessel and you definitely weren’t listening. You don’t want that, do you? For him to be soulmates with someone else?
It happened all the time though, people ending up with those who they weren’t tethered to. The galaxy was far too huge and vast, many people never having the opportunity to leave their home planet, let alone venture and seek out their soulmate. Some people, Poe included now, saw it as a myth, it was becoming so rare. You’d only ever known one pair of soulmates to meet in the years you’d been alive. Your parents.
Either way, your mind needed to slow down. You didn’t know Poe. From what you’ve seen of him, despite his impeccable physical features, you weren’t really a fan. But...just regarding his physical features? Big fan.
He snapped you out of your reverie. “Stars, you are infuriating.”
You apologized, placing your hands in the front pockets of your medic coat in hopes to ignore the thread, but it stuck out of the material of your pocket instead.
“There’s no harm in collecting more intel,” you told him. “Especially if it saves lives.”
He rubbed his forehead. “There is if it’s time sensitive! The ship could leave Kessel at any moment and then we’ll never know what was on it.”
You snorted. “You said it’s been in your knowledge for a while, been written off until now. I don’t buy it. I don’t know what you’re wanting from me, Dameron, but I won’t apologize. This is how I feel, and General Organa and Vice Admiral Holdo agree with me.”
“I want a common ground,” he said. Your gut twisted. “We met not ten minutes before you blasted me to pieces in that briefing room.”
“I don’t think you’re used to opposition.”
“I’m not.”
“You should always consider every point of view, especially for things like this. Have you heard about the terror running the First Order? You really want to face him in your little x-wing?”
Poe jerked his head. “Do not insult my ship.”
“Stars, Dameron, can you listen to a voice that isn’t your own for five seconds?”
“I was listening, obviously, ‘cause I heard your jab about my ship.” You could force-choke him right now. “But I get where you’re coming from. Where you’re more conservative and safe, I’m intuitive and risky and you hate it,” he said with a smile that met his eyes.
“I would call it impulsive and ill-informed,” you countered. You definitely didn’t hate bantering with him. You noticed subtly that over the course of the conversation, Poe had begun to move closer to you, inching closer and closer to the edge of the chair.
“Astute and adept,” he stood, tongue darting out to wet his lips as his eyes never left yours.
“Reckless and arrogant.” You didn’t want him to come any closer, unsure if you would either retch all over his shoes or bunch up the material of his brown leather jacket in your grip to pull him closer.
As if the stars were listening and answered, FX-7 appeared in the doorway. Your eyes broke from Poe’s, turning your attention to the droid and Poe followed suit.
“Pilot Nunb’s fever has broken,” it said. “He will make it through the night.”
Night? You realized you’d been so consumed the last couple days you’d lost all concept of time.
“Great news,” Poe said, turning from FX-7 back to you. “I need to go tell the rest of blue squadron.” Poe shamelessly looked you up and down.
“‘Till next time, Doc.”
Poe sidestepped the droid in the doorway without another glance at you. You remained on your desk, hands still in your pockets as you watched the thread disappear into the wall as Poe left.
“It is hardly relevant to speak in matters that pertain to humans,” FX-7 began, “let alone ones that concern my superior, but if I may?”
You couldn’t hide your confusion. FX-7 never spoke to you unless it was a medical matter. You nodded for him to go ahead.
“You are consumed with plenty. I caution against adding Commander Dameron to the list.”
You frowned. “FX, do you know about the soulmate thread?” What harm would it be to tell a droid? FX barely talked to you, and chances were zero that the droid would air this to anyone else.
The droid lifted its metal head up and down. “Yes.”
It was the most humanistic the droid had ever been, and you felt mildly miffed. Has FX-7 always been able to not be so robotic? You’d save that thought to be pissed about another time.
“I can see it,” you said quietly. “It’s tied to him.”
FX-7 was silent, motionless for a few moments and it almost seemed like he had powered down. “That is…” he paused. “Inconvenient.”
“Yeah, I know,” you said, hopping down from your desk. Your hands left your pockets to run through your hair as you tried to clear your thoughts and just breathe.
“Is that why you have busied yourself more than usual?”
“Didn’t wanna deal with it,” you nodded. “Still don’t.”
“That will only prove to make things more arduous. You have two options when it comes to Commander Dameron, and you know which I favor. For the good of the Resistance and your work.” FX-7 then left the doorway to your office as promptly as he had arrived.
✗ ✗ ✗
You fell asleep in your office that night, or maybe it was morning by the time you collapsed against your desk. Despite FX-7’s confirmation, you couldn’t let yourself go back to your quarters when the pilot in your medbay was teetering on the cusp of cardiac arrest.
Leia Organa woke you by softly brushing the hair out of your face. Your head lifted instantaneously, a paper stuck to your cheek. You quickly removed it and smoothed down the rest of your hair to at least try and look presentable.
“General,” you regarded her, standing up from your seat. She smiled softly at you.
“Doctor, I apologize for waking you.”
You shook your head and tried not to wince when you peeked at the digital numbers glaring at you upon the wall.
“I needed to be awake, anyways. I’m late for rounds,” you muttered the last part to yourself.
“I came to update you on the operation,” she moved back around your desk and sat down in the seat Poe had occupied only a few hours prior.
“We’ve received intel that the TIE fighters stationed in front of the ship are no longer there, presumably to return to the First Order to refuel or receive maintenance. It’s a narrow window, but Commander Dameron and both Red and Blue squadrons have departed a few hours ago to hopefully investigate that cargo ship.”
You nodded at her words and contained the frown from surfacing on your face. Your stomach knotted, fearing that the absence of First Order protection was all too convenient, and they were falling into a trap.
The First Order was smart, something you had learned first hand. You’d been on their radar for as long as you could remember. The bad guys needed medics, too.
Some of your peers that you had completed medical school with had left to join, and ultimately you couldn’t blame them. The offer was tempting, yet mostly threatening. Most of them joined more out of fear than anything. You had been moments away yourself, but instead you were here. On D’Qar. A vital part of the Resistance. If you were someone who believed in such phenomena, you would swear the galaxy itself had made sure of it.
“Have you heard anything since they left?” You asked.
Leia shook her head, trying to hide her worried expression. “They’re in good hands. Poe is the best pilot I’ve seen since…” She stopped herself. “He’s the man for this.”
“So I’ve heard,” you said. “I hope he proves me wrong. And also brings every pilot back in one piece.”
“Together, I think you two would make quite the formidable pair.”
“With respect, General,” you tried not to snort at her words. “I think it’s better if we keep our distance. Our stubbornness might tear a rift in the galaxy.”
“Or,” she winked. “It could bring it together.”
You had no response.
“I’ll be back should there be any word from Poe, and - “
Leia’s words were cut off by the familiar screech of a x-wings cutting into the atmosphere and landing on the runway.
Wordlessly, the two of you all but sprinted from the medical wing out into the open, expansive area that was the runway. Countless others were surfacing outside, watching the ships land and be courted off into the hangars for repairs. From what you could tell, they all looked fine. No exposed wires or blaster burns. For the most part, the squadrons looked untouched. The last ship to land was Poe’s black and orange T-70.
The second the x-wing was stopped, Poe all but threw himself from the cockpit, shucking his helmet off and chucking it at the ground. BB-8’s body blurred as the droid tried to keep up with his long, quick strides. His eyes met Leia’s first, immediately spurning his feet to turn in her direction. When he eventually realized you were also next to her, his eyes all but physically set you on fire.
You held your breath as he crossed the runway. Poe looked downright dangerous, he was so angry. Leia noticed this too, but did not change her demeanor as she waited patiently for him to come to her, hands clasped behind her back.
“Mission report, Commander Dameron,” she said.
“Can we discuss this somewhere else?” Poe asked as he stopped walking, finally reaching his destination. BB-8 rolled up a second later. His eyes flicked to yours.
“We can, but the Doctor will be there regardless.”
Poe wanted to scream.
“The mission went as smoothly as expected. We were met with no First Order resistance or ambush as we docked and investigated the cargo ship.”
“And what did you find?”
Poe took a deep breath, calming his heartbeat that was deafening in his ears. His fists clenched and unclenched, and unfortunately the thread was still there. Except this time, it was pulled taught between your bodies when it usually sagged with slack.
“We found spice, General.”
Oh.
Maybe you did believe in some higher power. There had to be someone pulling the strings behind this scenario. You wanted to laugh, point your finger and tell him ‘told you so’. But you didn’t, because the tension and anger in Poe’s body was so apparent that it looked like he was a chain pulled so tight it wasn’t a matter of if, but when he would snap.
So you settled for pursing your lips very tightly.
“Nothing else to report?” Leia questioned.
Poe shook his head.
“I’m glad you all made it back safe,” she said, putting her hand on Poe’s shoulder. “It was one mission, Poe. There will be other opportunities.”
He nodded, not meeting her eyes as Leia took her leave. The two of you stood in intolerable silence and you weren’t sure why Poe didn’t immediately sprint off as soon as Leia left.
“I’m glad everyone made it back safely,” you spoke slowly, offering a metaphorical olive branch.
Poe cocked his head, eyes narrowing as he met yours. You braced yourself, waiting for him to maybe pull out his blaster and take you out on the spot.
“Save it,” he said, though his voice didn’t hold the venom you expected. “Do you want me to tell you that you were right?”
You shrugged. “Not required, but I’m not against it.”
He did not accept your poor attempt at lightening the mood. Instead, he sighed deeply and dragged a hand down his face.
“I look like a complete joke . Making such a big deal out of this whole operation, only to be completely and utterly wrong.” He laughed dryly, and you tried not to wince.
“But you know who was right? A fucking medic. The holier-than-thou doctor who doesn’t ever leave her medbay, but the one time she does she completely undermines everything.”
Of course, it was your fault. Poe didn’t want to face the fact that his lack of patience and impulsiveness had forced him and his whole squadron to investigate a cargo ship full of spice. Against your better judgement, you let him continue his diatribe. He continued, berating your position, your lack of expertise and inability to, how did he put it? Stay out of matters that don’t pertain to you. He seemed to have forgotten the minute detail that Holdo had asked for you to be there, even though you reminded him of that fact last night.
After a ridiculous amount of time, Poe eventually stopped to catch his breath. As soon has he did, he tried to continue.
“Not to mention - “
You cut him off. “Are you done?”
He narrowed his eyes. “I could go on all day.”
You crossed your arms. “I’m sure you could. Because you absolutely have the right to completely tear me down when we met for the first time a couple days ago.”
“I’ve heard enough about you,” Poe countered.
“As have I,” you clenched your jaw. “Your reputation precedes your rank, Dameron. You really think you’re going to earn respect and trust around the base when you’re running through every female here? You think that speaks well of your character? You think that’s Commander behavior?”
Poe interlaced his hands on the top of his head as he laughed at you incredulously.
“I can’t even stand to breathe the same air as you right now,” Poe said.
How fucking immature. You narrowed your eyes. “Then stop breathing.”
At your words, the red thread tightened around your finger painfully. So tight, it felt as though it was about to cut through and remove the finger entirely. Your other hand rubbed at your finger -  desperately, futilely trying to loosen the string.
Poe watched your action, and then sucked in a breath through his teeth as he grasped as his own pinky in pain. He noticed his movements mirrored yours.
“Wha-” he paused. “Wait - “ Two pieces clicked in Poe’s brain.
But it didn’t matter, because you were already retreating, your steps quick and purposeful. You were fleeing back to the medbay and away from whatever was about to come out of Poe’s mouth. You couldn’t deal with it, not now and probably not ever.
You didn’t miss the way his eyes watched your hands before watching his own, his forehead creasing with confusion, then what you hoped wasn’t realization. You didn’t think your actions obvious, but if he felt the same pain you did, it was impossible not to notice.
Fuck, fuck, fuck, your mind spiraled. Poe called your name, your actual name, but you were too far gone and nothing short of the force would make you go back to him.
This time, your interaction with Poe Dameron didn’t end with emptying your guts in the refresher, but by entering your office and locking it.
Small victories.

Masterlist
You hated today, when you came into your dorm room you saw your boyfriend already there. You went up to him and hugged him. Then your phone rang, Seungsik, your club leader called you. “I am so sorry but I really have to go.” He let out a sigh and sat down. He started talking about how you were always busy and you two started fighting.
So now your here, on the campus sitting on a bench, thinking about how you treated him. He had a point every date was interrupted by you, if you even had time for a date. You felt bad and started getting mad at yourself. You couldn’t help yourself anymore and started crying. You were happy it was already late and no one could see you. Your phone lit up and saw a message.
Subinnie: hey can we talk? Please..
You: yes please
Subinnie: where are you right now?
You: I’ll send my location
 You: *location attached*
Subinnie: okay I’ll be there in five, stay there
You: okay see you soon be safe.
After a couple minutes you heard someone running. “Did you run the whole way?” He sat down breathing heavily and nodded. You gave him some water to steady his breathing. “Why’d you wanna talk?” You asked him and he looked at you. “I just have one question, why can’t you put me above all your other stuff, im you boyfriend I should be just as important or more than your clubs.” You felt your heart drop after he said that, you wanted to achieve a lot with school and clubs but you never knew that you made him feel this way.
“I know, I’m sorry for treating you like that. Im complicated I know.” You told him.  “Yes I know, but that’s what I like about you. Your like a mess but in a put together way, I like that you listen to (insert fave artist) and that you like weird things together as food. I like that… No I just like you hell I love you.” You were shocked by his words. He’s never said that before. “What”
“And I know you enough to know that your gonna need time and you don’t have to say anything back right no-“ You cut him off with a hug.
“I love you too” you pulled away from him and looked into his eyes. His eyes melted when he saw you looking at him. “I’m sorry for being a bad girlfriend, I’ll try to make more time to spend together.” He smiled at you. “Great because, I don’t want them to take my girlfriend away for me.” You laughed “oh you couldn’t get rid of me even if you tried.” “I couldn’t live without you baby.”
He walked you to your dorm and you stood at the door. “Do you wanna spend the night?” You asked and he looked at you with a smile. “I thought you’d never ask, of course.” And you pulled him inside your room. “I’m gonna get ready for bed if you need a shirt there’s a couple old shirts in my dresser.” He hummed and you went to the bathroom. He knocked on the dor and you opened. He didn’t wear a shirt and had your old grey sweatpants on. You stared at his chest through the mirror.
“Like the view babe?” He asked with a smirk. You blushed and laughed at him. “If you want me to cover up I will.” He said. “No its okay, baby” you gave him a toothbrush and when you were done you left and changed into your pyjamas. You laid down in bed and Subin joined you right after. You turned you back to him but he put his arm around you waist and pulled you into his arms. “Hmm your hair smells nice baby.” He said with a muffled voice. You just smiled too tired to answer. “Goodnight, I love you.” He said and you both fell asleep

SEX
Alright got your attention. So if ya suck at wanting to sex or can sex pretty good once you get into it but just never think about this supposed pinnacle of human enjoyment untill you do, ive got a revelation for ya. Im usually pretty skeptical about "self help" books and junk but said eh why not and stumbled upon Dr. Emily Nagoski's Come As You Are and bought that shit.
Alright hear me out, I'm not done the book yet (like half way through) but it reads like a text book with some fun nerd references and if my college lvl psych class says anything, her research seems to be science based and sound. But I didn't even explain anything did I? Well, instead of 10 ways to satisfy your partner, Dr. Nagoski goes into the science and psychology of why people like myself (who never spontaneously want sex except for hormone going crazy time of the month) are perfectly normal and why we function the way we do. I hate when people plug crap like this, but with Dr. Nagoskis book, it felt like reading a biology or psychology book which I love just straight facts and no bullcrap. Some of the language she uses can be kinda "how do you do fellow kids" but for the most part it seems like part of the marketing and her just wanting to be relatable to people like myself (late 20 somethings), and just wanting to appeal to the widest range of people possible (also completely understandable since she usually teaches college kids).
Anywho, at the very least, her methodology and research seems sound to my very limited scope of psychology and resonates deeply with an insecurity I've had for at least a decase now. so at the very least I wanted to get a conversation started or plant some seeds in peoples mind weather this post gets reblogged or not. Dr. Nagoski's basic message (from what Ive read so far) is that no matter how much or how little you want sex, you are normal. No matter how your bits are rearranged, or colored, or shaped, you are normal. We're all made up of the same stuff, just organized differently and that is normal.
For many this might be beasic stuff, butbfor me it was revolutionary, that I'm not the only person who doesn't think sex is an end all be all, but isn't exactly asexual. I mean I still enjoy it in my own time, but I wanted to start a conversation, and even if I reach one of my followers, I've done my part. You're not alone, you're normal, there's nothing wrong with you and I love you and feel like you do too.
So here's a link to Dr. Nagoski's opening chapter of her books Come As You Are. It has the dumb "kinda looks like vag but is just a (insert innocuous object here) cover that marketing a book requires, but I assure you the facts and psychology is sound. Some words may be trying to hard to sound relevant, but if you look beyond that the messge of an accomplished, well educated, well established sex researcher is there.
https://medium.com/@enagoski/pleasure-is-the-measure-d8c5a2dff33f
If you're like me, and sex just isnt that sexy, im there for ya. I feel and respect ya. I'm married to boot and working my way through but there is hopefully a way out for those of us who want to work towards it.

Im the list anon again and boy do I have more for you but this time I also have some questions as well if your time allows and you are willing to answer of course. First with the other things I loved:
1) the fact that Ron warmed up to Draco so quickly! I genuinely think thats so much in character. Ron is not a distrustful person and as a middle child as they come is very easygoing and would for sure make stupid jokes at Draco
2) The patronus. My god the Patronus. I seriously put the phone down and made a small slow clap during that chapter. At first I was like hmmmm *insert unsure kombucha girl face* because almost all fanfics have him with a dragon patronus and leave it at that (and lets be honest at this point my expectations of you were quite high dont blame me blame your bloody brilliant writing) but then, and I dont know if you did this on purpose or not (I have a feeling you did) but the fact that the dragon was the same (pale white) wounded but still feral dragon that Hermione FREEED (!) from a bank (£££) dungeon, malnourished and used for its nature, surrounded by darkness, wealth and misery!! And it was Hermione who broke its chains!!!!! Is just *chefs fucking kiss* slow clap*
3) the way you describe sex scenes are so natural! Ive never read a fanfic or book that doesnt make me gag a little bit (I am not a fan of smut at all but ill go with it because of a good story) until I read yours. Its so simple but yet intricate and you make the entire act so intriguing and normal and intimate. Bravo.
4) I LOVE SASHA. I love that Theo fell for her head over heels and the way you portrayd her reminded me of a friend of mine who works as a sous-chef in London so I always pictured her when reading it!
5) Dracos inner voice is ON POINT. Like I genuinely think you shoud own the rights to that character now.
6) Ill say it again. I love Ginny. You should also own the rights to her character too.
7) my interest for Quiddich (even when reading the books/wathcing the movies) was on par, if not lower than Hermiones. You managed to get me interested in that too so yes another slow clap to you
7.1) Also such a clever career for Draco!! Made si much sense!
Now to some questions
A) What was the deal with Malfoy referring to Ginny as Weasly and refusing to aknowledge her Potter surname. And why did everyone kept correcting him? It was hilarious granted but I wanted to know whether the reason you included this time and time again had to do wih something deeper? Or was this included as just a funny recurring joke?
B) Why did you choose for Draco to have a “fantasy” to produce a patronus and not for example for him to have had to do that after theyd exchanged “i love yous”. Very interesting angle and i liked that it was sort of a loophole to all the ‘death eaters cant have patronuses’ but quite curious on the thought process
C) Why did you opt for Draco to remove his mark? Do you think that stands as reward for him more or for Hermione? Very smart solution by the way
D) if you have the time- Could you please elaborate a tad more on what the soul-bonding means? Why was it so taboo? At furst hand it seems like a very romantic/amazing thing to do with your partner right?
Lastly- Do you ever itch to make a second part to this? And in the most acceptable case that you dont, I always wondered what you had in mind for them in the future- because of the soul bonding thing, you mentioned that the generational curses will be erased, which means I guess that the Malfoys can have more than one child now, and girls as well. (I cannot believe im asking for this as I am the one to avoid any pregnancy fanfics but) do you imagine them with children and if yes, how many? How do they integrate muggle devices(I know youd agree wit me that Hermione would definitively bring some muggle stuff over!) and which devices would Draco really secretly like?
Pleasewriteasecondpartwhereyouelaborateyourthoughtsonthisthankyou.
Ok rant done. :D
List anon! You’re back with another amazing ask. I’ll do my best!
1.) I like to think Ron matured a lot post-war (not enough to stop making terrible jokes, though.)
2.) Regarding your beautiful analysis of my specific dragon breed for Draco’s patronus: How many points would you like for your Hogwarts house of choice? I will add that according to Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them, the Ironbelly’s scales are normally a metallic grey. I will also add that I subscribe more to book canon than movie canon. In the book version of events of the Gringotts escape, Harry breaks the chains and Hermione (with eventual help once the boys catch on) destroys the ceiling so it can have a way out. The partially blind dragon does the rest of the work on its own.
3.) Thank you, that’s very flattering.
4.) Does your friend also get you into fancy restaurants and can they make salted caramel bread pudding???
5.) Thank you, it was one of my favorite aspects of writing this story.
6.) Thank you, she’s so fun to write and flesh out from her book portrayal.
7.) Haha, I felt so validated by that line of dialogue in Cursed Child when Draco tells Harry he wanted to play quidditch professionally, but wasn’t good enough.
Now to some answers:
A.) It’s definitely a recurring joke. It’s up to the reader to interpret Draco’s actions here: is he doing it to be a massive troll? Or is he genuinely not retaining the information of her married name because he considers this fact so unimportant that he does not bother to keep it in his brain? Troll, snob, or both, you can decide!
B.) I’ll address the second part of this first, because it was not intended as a loophole. I 1000% do not understand the “death eaters can’t have patronuses” thing. It makes absolutely no sense. Snape has a Patronus. But beyond that… Umbridge has a Patronus (a cat). If we’re letting that woman have a Patronus, then yeah, I think Draco can cast one. As for the vision that Draco used to conjure it… up to you whether that’s a fantasy or a glimpse of a certain ritual actually working. Draco’s thoughts on the matter: “An image of such striking tangibility that he might have already lived it, or perhaps experienced time in such a way that he lived it now.”
C.) I wanted Draco to have a choice, obviously a recurring theme for him in RN. For my characterization of him, that symbol on his arm causes him nothing but shame and self-loathing (see the end of chapter 36 during his heart-to-heart with Hermione). He’d already exercised almost every known avenue to rid himself of it before Hermione entered his life (he lists these in chapter 44). Hermione already loved him (and has told him so) by the time she’s figured out how to remove it: “I love the man you are today and I will love that man tomorrow, bare forearm or not. I simply wanted you, for once, to have the choice. It’s your body.”
D.) Ooh anon, you are tempting me here. I really hate to be coy, but you might see some future writing on this very topic.
I can at least answer the taboo part: I think soul magic in general (horcruxes, the use of unicorn blood) is quite taboo in the HP universe. As no one knows what happens after death (not even ghosts, Nearly Headless Nick says as much when Harry asks him point-blank in OoTP) I think most magical folk would think the intense ritual (blending magical cores) an unnecessary thing anyway. As Draco explains in chapter 48, since no one actually knows the effects or if it works, it’s considered a bit over-the-top since it’s probably futile anyway. It is also not a Vow with a death component; Narcissa is obviously alive in this story even though Lucius is already dead. I wrote the generational curse protection theory in as a dig at Cursed Child for the way they handled Astoria’s character.
The idea of it I think is romantic, but I will stress it is very dependent upon the intent of the two participants. To quote Draco in chapter 48 again: “To twine one’s soul to another showed a willingness to not only physically tether one’s self during your time here on earth, but to commit to a blending of your magical cores, putting faith in your magic to recognize its bonded counterpart in another life. Should other lives even exist.”
If you re-read Draco’s experience during the bonding ceremony in chapter 51 (starting from this bit: “The cognizance of his own powers never felt sharper, more familiar, but suddenly another power pulsed within to join with his.”) you might find it bears a resemblance to the trajectory of their relationship.
Lastly- I’ve left Draco and Hermione to their wedded bliss. I’ve got nothing planned for them beyond where they are in the final lines of chapter 51. I don’t have that itch to write more into their future because it would feel forced. Draco laid out his two envisioned futures with Hermione in chapter 48 when they discuss having or not having children. They are happy and content in the life they chose together. That’s all I ever wanted for them.
You will see more from this story though. I have an entire series of one-shots and outtakes from the published Remain Nameless timeline that I’ll start posting soon.
Thank you so much list anon! These were fun to answer!

Take It Slow: Yeji x Reader
Request: Could you please do Yeji x Fem!Reader? The plot is about them living together and falling in love 🥺 Thank you :)
Tumblr media
Your roommate and you have lived together for almost a year and you both have yet to actually interact with each other. All you knew about your roommate was her name, Hwang Yeji. Despite the fact that you two haven’t really ever talked, you knew she probably despised you.
“I don’t understand why you two don’t talk. Really she’s super nice and cute too.” Your best friend Jiwoo knew Yeji because unlike you, Jiwoo was a social butterfly. Everyone loves Jiwoo she’s like the human embodiment of happiness. You sneezed three times then said “She doesn’t like me and you know it.” Jiwoo rolled her eyes and said “well you need to figure something out you two cant avoid each other forever. And go to the doctor you’re clearly sick” You responded “eventually we will. And it’s just allergies.”
When you woke up the next morning you realized it wasn’t just allergies. Your whole body ached, you were sweating even though you felt cold, and you had a wet cough. Forcing yourself out of bed you went to the kitchen to get water. You held yourself up against the wall so you didn’t fall over as you drank from your water bottle.
You heard a voice behind you “Hey are you ok?” You turned around and squinted, your eyes hurting from the amount of light in the room. You did your best to hold in a cough as you said “Y-yeah I’m fine just a little cold.” Yeji responded “are you sure?” You nodded but the second you tried to take a step you felt yourself falling.
Yeji quickly caught you, pulling you onto her back and walking you to your room. She placed you on the bed and felt your forehead, “you have a fever”. She ran to the bathroom and got some medicine before giving it to you with a glass of water. “Here take this.” You swallowed the cherry flavored liquid almost throwing it back up.
Your throat burned as you talked “Why are you doing this for me? I thought you hated me.” She responded with a soft smile “I want to. And I can’t hate someone like you.”
Never in the 10 months of living with Yeji have you actually seen her smile. Your heart fluttered at the sight. She was usually blank faced when she was around you, her narrow cat shaped eyes felt like they were burning holes into you. But this smiling Yeji was soft and warm, like a best friend almost. “You should get some rest y/n.” She pulled a blanket over you and walked out of your room, leaving the door open.
When you woke up you saw a boy scrolling through his phone sitting across from you. Immediately you looked around for Yeji, “she’s not here” the boy spoke up. You looked at him and tried to talk but your voice was gone, probably from all the coughing you did.
He could tell by the look on your face that you didn’t like him in your dorm. He calmly said “it’s ok she’ll be back. Oh and im her brother, Hyunjin.” You relaxed upon hearing him say that he was her brother, now knowing he wasn’t some creepy boy who broke into your dorm claiming to know Yeji.
“She sent me here to make sure you’d be ok while she’s in dance practice. I think she likes you, she talks about you a lot...” You stopped listening not believing anything he said. Closing your eyes you let him talk you back to sleep.
When you woke up again Yeji was back home, you could hear her humming in the kitchen. She walked into your room and saw you looking around silently. She ran the thermometer across your forehead and said “hmmm your fever still hasn’t broken and it’s been two days. I’m taking you to the hospital.” She helped you put on your shoes and a mask before putting you on her back and carrying you downstairs.
She drove you to the nearest hospital which was thirty minutes away. You honestly felt like you were dying. The motion of driving didn’t help making you feel nauseous and dizzy. Closing your eyes you tried your best to breathe calmly. You felt a hand on yours, her thumb caressing the back of your hand softly.
When she carried you into the hospital a few nurses immediately took you into a room to get checked out. Your eyes were closed but you could hear everything around you. The doctor asked Yeji all types of questions about you which she answered without issues. She knew everything from your birthday to your medicine allergies. You found this surprising because you’d never told her any of these things before.
“It seems that your girlfriend here has the common flu, we’ll get her an IV started with some fluids. As well as keeping her overnight for observation. She’ll be free to go in the morning.” The doctor told Yeji calmly and she nodded. Did he just say girlfriend? What did she tell him? But what you were most concerned about was the IV, you hated needles.
The doctor walked out to get a nurse for you leaving the two of you in the room. Yeji noticed your tensed body “what’s wrong?” She asked, her concern growing by the second. You responded “scared. Needles. No thank you.” Your voice still mostly gone but she was able to pick up what you said. She knew there was no other option, you needed this.
When the nurse came back she had the catheter in her hand ready to insert it in you. The nurse grabbed your hand and took the cap off the needle. The second you laid eyes on it you snatched your hand away and started crying. Everytime the nurse tried to gently get your hand you screamed and swatted at her.
“Wait wait wait stop!” Yeji waved her hands in front of the nurse. “Can you give us a second?” She asked sweetly. The nurse nodded and left the room. “Y/N you need this. I’ll hold your hand just relax.” You shook your head at her proposal. “What if you close your eyes and I hold you?” One again you shook your head.
The nurse came back in and told you she needed to get this done now because there were other patients. You nodded and held out your shaking hand, Yeji stood next to you, holding your head against her body. Before the nurse even got the needle out, you passed out.
When you woke up it was the next morning and Yeji was sitting next to your bed, holding your hand. “You passed out then woke back up and fell asleep.” She told you laughing a little. A nurse came and had you sign papers so you could be discharged.
The car ride back to you and Yeji’s apartment was quiet. You decided to break the silence “so...girlfriend huh?” Yeji blushed and said “if i had no affiliation with you they wouldn’t have let me stay, it’s the first thing that came to mind.” You asked “we couldn’t have been sisters? Cousins?” She responded “not in the moment.”
You hesitated “well how about now?” She couldn’t take her eyes off the road but you could tell she wanted to look dead at you. Yeji stayed silent then asked “what do you mean..?” You told her “you know what I mean.” You laced her free hand with yours and she smiled. “Yeah...but take it slow.” You smiled wider and squeezed her hand lightly, “ok. We’ll take it slow.”

Pairing: Peter Parker x Stark!Reader
Word Count: 14,475
Summary: Five years is a long time, but it’s time that Tony takes to rebuild his life and his family. He never forgot his oldest daughter, but he did learn to move on. When Steve comes to him asking for help, can Tony get things back to they way they Used To Be?
Things weren’t what they used to be on Earth. No one understood the full extent of what was lost. Half of humanity was gone, that much was the easy part to understand. But what no one knew how to cope with, was why it was the people they loved.
Tony hated that Y/N and Peter were gone. Steve hated that Bucky, and as far as he knew, Tony was gone. Okoye had lost T’Challa and Shuri. Rocket lost all the Guardians. Sam, Stephen Strange, Wanda, and millions of others had turned to ash in front of their friends and loved ones. There is no way to cope with that. And Pepper… Pepper didn’t know what she had lost.
Nebula and Tony were left to find a way home from Titan. They were the only two on that planet that survived. While Tony was friendly to Nebula, he couldn’t ignore the hollow feeling in his chest. The place where his daughter had been, where the ghost of his daughter is.
“What was her name?” Nebula suddenly asked. They had been playing finger football, a game so ordinary that it felt out of place to do in that ship. “Your daughter.”
“Y/N.” Tony said softly. “Her name is Y/N.”
He emphasized the word ‘is’. His brain was refusing to admit that she had disappeared before his eyes. He loved her. He raised her. He had done everything in his power to protect her, and he still failed her. He knew that he should’ve sent her home the minute he sent Peter home. But that didn’t work for the kid either.
Thinking of Peter hurt Tony almost as bad as thinking of Y/N. He remembered that he had told Y/N not to get too attached to Peter because he wasn’t meant to be a permanent addition to their lives, but he ended up finding a place in their hearts. A place in their family.
“I’m sorry you lost her.” Nebula said earnestly, despite her voice being the same monotonous voice she always used.
“Yeah… Me too.” He nodded carefully. “So you won!” He exclaimed, feigning happiness. He didn’t think he could sit and talk about Y/N any longer. It was still so fresh, the image of losing his only daughter. “Have fun?” Tony asked, offering his hand to shake.
“It was fun.” Nebula nodded, shaking his hand.
That was less than a week after Thanos and the battle on Titan. It was pushing the three week mark, maybe even beyond it, by the time he was able to gather the strength to make the message he was dreading. He leaned forward to tap the side of his damaged helmet.
“Guess I should say something, huh?” Tony sighed, a heavy sadness falling on him. “I don’t know, Y/N/N, maybe there’s nothing to say. You’ll never get the chance to see this, and maybe that’s my fault. This is just so I know that I said it to you, even if you can’t hear it…
“Y/N, honey, I’m sorry. I wish more than anything I could’ve saved you. Because you and your mother were what got me out of bed everyday. You were undoubtedly the best thing to ever happen to me. And if I had the chance, I’d trade my life for yours.
“Oh, man. This is hard. I love you, so so much. More than I could ever put into words… But I guess you did that when you were a kid, huh? Forever and ever... Just didn’t think there’d be an end to our forever.
“Well, I’m not gonna bore you with the details of what’s going over here. Just wanted to check in and let you know that I love you and I really messed up time. I failed you, and I have to live with that… Just- Just know that when the inevitable catches up to me and I can’t pull an ace out my sleeve - that ace was usually you - that I’m gonna think about you. Love you, Cupcake.”
Tony ended that message and decided he had to deliver one more. There was someone else who needed to hear Tony’s voice, for possibly the last time.
“This thing on?” He opened with. Tony wanted to leave a message for Pepper, praying that she was okay. But a different part of him was afraid there was going to be no one to receive the message. “ Hey, Miss Potts... Pep. If you find this recording, don't post it on social media. It's gonna be a real tear-jerker. I don't know if you're ever going to see these. I don't even know if you're... if you're still... Oh god, I hope so.” Tony didn’t think he could cope with losing his wife and daughter. “Today is day 21, uh 22. You know, if it wasn't for the existential terror of staring into a void of space, I'd say I'm feeling better today. The infection's run its course, Thanks to the blue meanie back there. You'd love her. Very practical. Only a tiny bit sadistic. Some fuel cells were cracked during battle, but we figured out a way to reverse the ion charge to buy ourselves about 48 hours of time. But it's now dead in the water. We're 1000 light years from the nearest 7-11. Oxygen will run out tomorrow. And that'll be it... And Pep, I- I know I said no more surprises, but I was really hoping to pull off one last one. But it looks like... well you know what it looks like. Don't feel bad about this. I mean, if you grovel for a couple of weeks, and then move on with enormous guilt. I should probably lie down. Please know that... when I drift off, I will think about the two people that meant the world to me… And that’s you and Y/N.... Because it's always you two.”
Nebula helped Tony off the floor and into one of the seats. She even got him a blanket. Nebula knew there was nothing left to do for Tony. There was no way to get the Benatar back to Earth, and no way to help Tony. He would die in the middle of nowhere in space, alone.
As Tony was drifting off, a bright light shone in his face. He tried to ignore it, but it grew brighter and brighter until he couldn’t ignore it. When he opened his eyes, he saw a woman. A woman with blonde hair, a red and blue suit, and glowing a strange blue glow. But Tony didn’t care to ask how she found them. Maybe she could get them home. He felt hope in his chest, a feeling he hadn’t felt in weeks.
And that was exactly what she did. The mysterious space woman was able to guide the Benatar back to Earth, more specifically to the Avengers Compound. Inside was Steve, Nat, Bruce, Pepper, and Rhodey. The incoming ship caused the compound to shake, steadily picking up intensity until the Benatar landed. Nebula helped Tony out the ship and down to the ground as Steve ran to his friend to help.
“Couldn’t stop him.” Tony managed as he walked with Steve.
“Neither could I.” Steve admitted. Steve glanced behind Tony, expecting to see Y/N right behind him.
“I lost the kids.” Tony mumbled, saying it out loud to someone who wasn’t there to see it made it feel fresh again. The image of his daughter disappearing mid-sentence and then the image of Peter disappearing in his arms flashed in his mind.
“Tony, we lost.” Steve said, hoping to console and show solidarity.
“Is uh..” Tony couldn’t ask the question. He couldn’t get his brain to ask Is Pepper alive.
“Oh my god!” Pepper said, rushing to Tony so she could hug him tightly. “Oh my god!”
“It’s okay.” Tony said gently as he held her close. And for the first time in nearly a month, something actually was okay.
Tony now sat inside, an IV inserted into his arm as everyone tried to brief him on what he missed on Earth. The words Rhodey spoke held no weight in Tony’s frazzled mind. Behind his friend were projections, images that resembled mugshots. Images that showed the people that were gone. Some were smiling, like Peter’s, while others were more serious, like his daughter’s.
“It’s been 23 days since Thanos came to Earth.” Rhodey began.
But Tony’s mind wandered. He saw things that were his daughter’s. Her childhood drawings were still on the fridge. Her picture was still hanging on the wall. A framed photo of her and Peter was still on the desk. The mask plate to her first suit was still on the corner of her desk, right beneath her computer screen.
“So where is he?” Tony asked, suddenly full of anger. Full of pain.
“We don’t know.” Steve shrugged. “He just opened a portal and walked through…. Tony, you and Y/N fought him.”
“What?” Tony asked in shock. “Who told you that? No, he wiped my face with a planet and used my daughter as a punching bag while the Bleecker Street magician gave away the Stone. There was no fight, alright? He’s unbeatable.”
“Did he give you any clues?” Steve pressed. He knew he shouldn’t have. He knew he should’ve let Tony rest and ask questions later. But his own grief was pushing him to continue, pushing him to find some sort of lead. “Any coordinates? Anything?” Steve was practically begging.
“I saw this coming a few years back.” Tony said casually, in an ‘I-Told-You-So’ type way. “I had a vision… I didn’t wanna believe it. Thought I was dreaming. You know, I told Y/N about it? And she was ready to wade through Hell and high water with me, if that’s what it took.”
“Tony, I’m gonna need you to focus.” Steve tried to steer Tony back to the present.
“And I needed you.” Tony emphasized. His anger now to a point that he didn’t care to try to control. “As in past tense. Oh, and so did Y/N. Did you know she looked for you for weeks after Germany?”
“No, I didn’t know.” He admitted sadly. “But you knew. Why didn’t you tell her?”
“Because obviously, we can’t count on you for anything.” Tony replied simply. “But that trumps what you need. It’s too late, buddy. Sorry.” Tony shrugged weakly. “You know what I need? I need to shave. And I believe I remember telling all youse-” Tony’s balance faltered as he went for Steve, but Rhodey was able to catch him. Rhodey tried to calm Tony, but the stubborn man continued his rage fueled rant. “Alive and otherwise what we needed was a suit of armor around the world! Remember that? Whether it impacted our precious freedoms or not- that’s what we needed!”
“Well, that didn’t work out. Did it?” Steve snapped. He understood that Tony was in pain, that Tony was grieving arguably more than he was. But Steve wanted to find a way to bring everyone back, to fix what they couldn’t stop. “We’ve got to do something. We owe it to those people-”
“I don’t owe anybody shit!” Tony countered angrily. “I owe my daughter a future. I owe Peter a future. But I can’t give it to them now, because you were too concerned about our freedoms. Look where that got up, Cap.” Tony said, his arms out to the side in a grand gesture.
“I said we’d lose.” Tony continued, his voice no longer full of rage. Instead, his voice was soft, the voice of a man who had given up. Who had lost everything. “You said ‘We’ll do that together too’. And guess what? We lost. And you weren’t there… But that’s what we do, right?” Tony’s anger was resurfacing as his daughter’s face flashed on the holograms again. “We’re the Avengers, we’re the Avengers. Not the Pre-vengers?”
“You made your point.” Rhodey tried, hoping to settle his unstable friend. Rhodey knew Tony better than anyone, could read him better than everyone. He could see the grief in his face, the loss in his eyes. Tony had been through a lot in the past ten years, since Loki first came to New York. But losing his daughter and the kid he had been mentoring at the same time, in the same way, that was a whole different kind of hurt. A kind of hurt that no person deserved. “Just sit down, okay?”
“Nah, nah.” Tony scoffed. “Here’s my point. You know what?”
“Tony, you’re sick.” Rhodey tried again.
“She’s great, by the way.” He pointed to the mysterious space woman. He learned her name was Carol Danvers, an Air Force pilot from the 80’s who had gotten her powers by exploding a Kree reactor. “We need you. You’re new blood. Bunch of tired old mules!” He ranted as he crossed the room to stand face-to-face with Steve. “I got nothing for you, Cap. I got no coordinates, no clues, no strategies, no options. Zero. Zip. Nada. No trust. Liar.” He spat, the venom soaked his words. Tony didn’t care to be polite or kind. Tony didn’t care about anything anymore. He pulled his housing unit off his chest and slammed it into Steve’s hand. “Here. Take this. You find him, and you put that on. Then you hide.”
“Tony-”
“No, cause that’s what you’re good at, right?” Tony mocked. “Hiding? Running away when people need you the most? You lost someone a month ago? So what. I lost my daughter. I don’t care who you lost. It’s not the same. So don’t talk to me like it is.” After that sentence, Tony fell to the floor, losing consciousness on the way down. But he dreamt of her.
You’re twelve years old, designing your own suit. You aren’t planning any of the specifics. You don’t worry about the technical aspects or the functionality of it. You are more concerned with what it would look like. You draw a suit like your dad’s, red with gold accents and the centerpiece of a glowing, blue Arc Reactor. You draw the suit without the mask, filling it in with your own face instead.
“Dad?” You ask, running up to his desk and waving your paper at him. “Dad, when can I be a superhero? I want to be like you!”
Tony laughs a little, picking you up and placing you in his lap. He stares at you with a delighted smile and proud eyes. He doesn’t know how he got as lucky as he is, but he thanks the universe everyday that he has you. “How about this?” He says happily, sliding the glove he’s working on onto your hand. The glove tightens to fit your skinny wrist, lighting up and moving with your hand. “This is a starter piece. When you build the rest of the suit around it, you can be a superhero.”
“Do I get a superhero name?” You ask excitedly, posing heroically with your dad’s glove. “Something cool, like yours!”
“Nope, you don’t get to copy mine.” He shakes his head with finality. “You’ve gotta come up with your own.”
“But I want something cool like yours..” You whine.
“How about this? You can buy it for the low, low price of a million dollars.” He offers with a wink.
You huff and cross your arm, thinking of a counter offer. “How about my dessert for the next month and I promise to only put on the suit when you need help. I’ll be your sidekick!”
“Hmm, no.” He shakes his head, putting you back on the ground and pulling the glove off your hand. “Nope. Iron Man works alone.”
“But Tony Stark works with Y/N Stark.” You counter with a coy smile. “So it’s not ‘Iron Man’ working with anyone. It’s like father-daughter bonding!”
“Father-daughter bonding.” Tony laughs. “That’s a good one. I’ll use that on your mom later when she asks why you’re always drawing suits.”
“You’re the best.” You smile.
“I know.”
“I love you, Dad.”
“I know.”
“Forever.” You hold your hand out for him to take.
“And ever.” He grins, taking your hand. You two lift your joined hands up and then come back down, solidifying your promise. No matter what happens, you know you’ll always love and trust you’ll dad. You’ll follow him anywhere, help him with anything. And Tony knows just how amazing you’re going to be, and he couldn’t be prouder.
Outside the room where Tony rested, the others talked about going after Thanos. They had managed to pinpoint where Thanos was, thanks to Nebula’s help. Bruce tried to reason with the small group, acknowledging that they were lacking in numbers. Carol was the one who suggested using the Stones to bring everyone back. While it seemed unlikely, impossible even, the Avengers knew there was no other option.
Later that day, everyone except Tony was aboard the Benatar and headed to Thanos. But they were too late. Thanos had used the Stones to destroy the Stones, leaving no chance of changing what he had done. The only outcome that had any effect was that Thor decapitated the Titan, offering himself closure but no real comfort.
There were no options left, no hope. No second chances. All of those that were left had no choice but to move on, to start over. But no matter how much time passed, there was a void in everyone’s hearts. A void that no amount of time could heal, that no new people could replace. But people had to try.
Five years had passed. Five years since Tony had watched Peter and Y/N fade away. He could finally talk about her without wanting to cry. He could remember her fondly instead of painfully. He could tell Morgan about her without feeling like he was leaving her behind. He wouldn’t say he felt whole again, but he had learned how to live with the hollow feeling. He knew Pepper was beside him, feeling the same emptiness that he did. But Tony would argue that he felt it deeper since he watched her go, since he heard her final sentence be cut short.
Tony wandered his property, clapping his hands. He had hoped that would’ve gotten their attention.
“Chow time!” He announced happily. But when he got no response, he called her name. “Maguna? Morgan H. Stark. You want some lunch?” He sat on a log near a small tent, waiting for Morgan’s appearance.
She came out of the tent wearing an all-too-familiar helmet. “Define lunch or be disintegrated.” She responded playfully.
“Okay, you should not be wearing that, okay?” Tony said, gently taking the helmet off her head only to be greeted by a mischievous smile that reminded him of Y/N. “That was a part of Y/N’s first suit designs. She was very proud of this.”
“Okay.” She nodded.
“Are you thinking about lunch?” Tony continued his original conversation. “I can give you a handful of crickets on a bed of lettuce.” He teased.
“No.” Morgan laughed.
“That’s what you want.” Tony joked. “How did you find this?”
“Garage.”
“Really? Were you looking for it?”
“No!” She responded quickly. “I found it, though. Y/N had all the cool stuff.”
“Yeah, she did.” He smiled fondly. “You like going to the garage, huh? So does daddy.. It’s fine, actually. Y/N hadn’t touched that thing since she upgraded.”
As Tony was walking Morgan back into the house, a black car rolled up. Steve, Scott, and Nat exited the vehicle. Tony hadn’t heard from them since he returned to Earth five years ago, so he knew whatever they wanted to talk to him about wouldn't be anything he had wanted to be involved in.
They talked on the porch, Scott explaining his wild idea.
“Now, we know what it sounds like…” Scott tried to reason.
“Quantum fluctuation messes with the Planck Scale, which then triggers the Deutsch Proposition. Can we agree on that?” Tony offered. The three looked between each other, visibly confused, as Tony handed each of them a drink.
“Thank you.” Steve quickly added politely.
“In Layman’s terms, it means you’re not coming home.” Tony simplified.
“I did.” Scott defended.
“No, you accidentally survived.” Tony corrected. “It’s a billion to one cosmic fluke. And now you wanna pull off a… What do you call it?”
“A time heist.” Scott chuckled.
“Yeah, a time heist.” Tony nodded. “Of course, why didn’t we think of this before? Oh, because it’s laughable? Because it’s a pipe-dream?”
“The Stones are in the past. We can go back and get them.” Scott pushed.
“We can snap our own fingers.” Nat added. “We can bring everyone back.”
“Or screw it up worse than he already has, right?” Tony countered.
“I don’t believe we would.” Steve said honestly.
“Gotta say, sometimes I miss that giddy optimism. However, high hopes won’t help if there is no logical, tangible way for me to safely execute said time heist,” Tony said firmly. “I believe the most likely outcome would be our collective demise.”
“Not if we strictly follow the rules of time travel.” Scott defended. “That means no talking to our past selves, no betting on sporting events-”
“I’m gonna stop you right there, Scott. Are you seriously telling me that your plan to save the universe is based on Back to the Future?” The fact that it was reminded Tony of Peter, the way he made plans based on what he saw in movies.
“No.” Scott answered, now embarrassed.
“Good. You had me worried there.” Tony nodded. “Cause that’d be horse shit. That’s not how quantum physics works.”
“Tony..” Nat pressed. “We have to take a stand.”
“We did stand.” He replied sadly. “And yet, here we are.. Some of us, anyway.”
“I know you got a lot on the line. You got a wife, a daughter. But I lost someone very important to me. A lot of people did.” Scott desperately said. He practically begged for Tony’s help. “And now- now we have a chance to bring her back. To bring everyone back. And you’re telling me you won’t even-”
“That’s right, Scott. I won’t even. I got a kid.” Tony agreed. “I already lost my daughter, five years ago. She would’ve been twenty two this year, but I watched her turn to dust. So, no. I won’t.”
“Mommy told me to come save you.” Morgan said as she ran up to her dad, who picked her up easily.
“Good job, I’m saved.” He told her before turning to Steve. “I wish you’d come here to ask me something else. Anything else. Honestly, I- I missed you guys, It was… Oh, and the table’s set for six.”
“Tony, I get it.” Steve spoke up. “And I’m happy for you. I really am. But this is a second chance for all of us.”
“I got my second chance right here, Cap.” Tony sighed. “I can’t roll the dice again. If you don’t talk shop, you can stay for lunch.”
“You think if it was the other way around, and you were gone, Y/N would say no?” Steve tried.
“You think Y/N would risk all of your lives just for me?” Tony scoffed.
“I think Y/N would take on Thanos by herself if it meant she could get you back.” Steve said simply. “You were everything to her and you know that. If there was even the slightest chance to get you back, she would do it.”
“She was a kid.” Tony argued, careful not to raise his voice since he was holding Morgan still. “She’d be stupid to try your Time Heist. The answer is no, Steve. I’m sorry, but I’m not losing again.”
Later that night, Tony was washing dishes after dinner. He had accidentally rinsed a spoon with too much water, and it shot out on the surrounding photo frames. When he was drying them off, he realized it was the photo of him, Y/n and Peter took with his Stark Internship certificate. The excitement in Peter’s eyes was obvious, as was the admiration in Y/N’s. He figured he might as well run some numbers, see what the actual probability of the Time Heist was.
“And don’t worry if it doesn’t pan out. I’m just kinda-” Tony rambled as F.R.I.D.A.Y. completed the sim.
“Model rendered.” Her automated voice said, showing a 99.987% success rate.
“Shit!” Tony exclaimed with a chuckle.
“Shit.” A small voice repeated from behind him.
“What are you doing up, little miss?” He whispered.
“Shit.” She repeated.
“No, we don’t say that. Only Mommy says that word. She coined it, belongs to her.”
“Why you up?”
“Cause I got some important shit going on here.” Morgan gave her dad a look. “What do you think? No, I got something on my mind… I got something on my mind.”
“Was it Juice pops?” Morgan asked excitedly.
“Sure was.” Tony nodded. “That’s extortion. Great minds think alike. Juice pops, exactly was on my mind.” Tony said, leading Morgan to the kitchen after glancing at the rendered model one last time.
After the two got their Juice Pops, Tony brought Morgan back to her room.
“That face goes there.” Tony said, pushing Morgan’s face into her pillow.
“Tell me a story.” Morgan said tiredly.
“Once upon a time, Maguna went to bed. The end.”
“That’s a horrible story.” She laughed.
“C’mon, that’s your favorite story.”
“Tell me a story about Y/N.”
“A story about Y/N..” Tony repeated. He thought of what story to tell Morgan. He had so many amazing memories with his daughter, so many laughs, so many triumphs. But there were just as many pitfalls. Every high had a low. “Once upon a time, there was a girl named Y/N. She was super smart and crazy popular, just like her dad. She wanted to be a superhero. She wanted to help people. But she wanted to help her dad the most. And she did. She helped her dad everyday from the moment she woke up to the moment she fell asleep. And then she did it all again the next day. But then, she had to go. She didn’t want to, but she had to.”
“She coming back?” Morgan asked, her eyes half shut.
“Love you tons.” Tony smiled, not wanting to promise anything. Tony wasn’t even sure he wanted to do anything with his successful model.
“I love you 3000.” Morgan replied.
I love you forever. And ever.
“Wow.” He whispered. “3000. That’s crazy… Go to bed or I’ll sell all your toys.”
He went downstairs and found Pepper, reading a book on composting. He tried to listen, but his attention kept shifting back to the successful model that still illuminated his table.
“I figured it out, by the way.” He interjected, unable to keep it in any longer.
“You know, just so we’re talking about the same thing-” Pepper said, wanting to make sure she knew what he meant.
“Time travel.”
“What?” She asked in obvious amazement. “Wow… That’s amazing and terrifying.”
“That’s right.”
“We got really lucky.”
“Yeah, I know.”
“A lot of people didn’t.”
“No, I can’t help everybody.”
“It sort of seems like you can.” Pepper pressed. “Or at least help the person you even considered this for.”
“Not if I stop.” Tony countered. “I can put a pin in it right now, and stop.”
“Trying to get you to stop had been one of the few failures of my life.” She joked. “And so was trying to get Y/N to stop..”
“I sometimes feel I should put it in a locked box and drop it at the bottom of a lake… Go to bed.”
“But would you be able to rest?” She offered gently. “Tony, you did all of this because there’s the chance that you can get our daughter back. I know that’s why you did it. And I also know that you’ve hardly gotten any real rest in the past five years. You’re happy with Morgan, but you still need Y/N.”
“She was the best parts of both of us.” He smiled fondly.
“And the worst parts of you.” Pepper joked.
“She was not!” Tony said, feigning offense.
“She was just as stubborn as you are!”
“I can get her back..” He whispered, as if the words hadn’t truly set in yet. There was a viable chance to bring Y/N back. And he had to take it. “Morgan is gonna love her.”
“Morgan already loves her.” Pepper laughed.
The next day, Tony rode over to the Compound. He was conflicted still. Yes, he had the chance to get his daughter back but was it worth risking the daughter he had now? Tony would have to make sure that he didn’t lose what he found. As he drove up, Steve was waiting outside, seemingly distraught.
“Why the long face?” Tony asked as he rolled down his window. “Let me guess. He turned into a baby.” Tony teased, jumping out the car and heading to the trunk.
“Among other things.” Steve answered hesitantly. “What are you doing here?”
“That’s the EPR Paradox.” Tony explained. “Instead of pushing Lang through time, you pushed time through Lang. It’s tricky, dangerous. Someone should’ve cautioned you against it.”
“You did.”
“Oh, did I?” Tony joked. “Thank God I’m here. Regardless, I fixed it.” He proudly lifted his newest toy. “A fully functional time-space GPS. I just want peace.” Tony threw up a peace sign. “Turns out resentment is corrosive. I hate it.”
“Me too.” Steve agreed.
“We got a shot at getting these stones, but I gotta tell you my priorities. Bring back what we lost? I hope to God, yes. I’d absolutely love to have Y/N and Peter back. Keep what I got? I have to, at all costs. I can’t lose another kid, Cap. And… maybe not die trying would be nice.”
“Sounds like a deal.” Steve smiled, offering his hand for Tony to shake. “We’re gonna get her back.” Before heading inside, Tony pulled something else out of the trunk. He had a new shield for Steve.
“Tony…” Steve hesitated.
“Why?” Tony questioned. “He made it for you. Plus, I don’t think Y/N would recognize you without it and I need to get it out of the garage before Morgan takes it sledding.”
“Thank you.” Steve said honestly.
“Will you keep that a little quiet? Didn’t bring one for the whole team.” Tony stopped and turned to Steve. “We are getting the whole team, yeah?”
“We’re working on that.” Steve replied.
Tony worked with Bruce and Scott to design the Quantum Suits. They resembled the Ant-Man suit with Stark styling. Nebula contributed the helmet design. She said Peter Quill used the same tech. Tony jokingly called her friends the Rings of Uranus. The only thing left was a test run, to which Clint volunteered for.
After the test was successful, they had to figure out when to go to get the Stones. Nat and Clint went after the Soul Stone, Thor and Rocket for the Reality Stone, Bruce for the Time Stone, Tony and Scott for the Tesseract which contained the Space Stone, Steve went for the Mind Stone, and Rhodey and Nebula went for the Power Stone. Everyone had enough Pym particles for one round trip. No one could afford to mess up.
“We can all stand around posing up a storm later.” Past Tony said, hauling Loki to his feet. “By the way, feel free to clean up.”
While the familiar scene played out in front of Tony and Scott, they conversated with Steve about the unflattering fit of his old suit. Scott said that he could tell the undercover HYDRA agents, because they even looked like bad guys.
“Miss Stark?” JARVIS had alerted 2012 Y/N, unbeknownst to either Tony. “There appears to be a second Tony Stark in the building. Your father is descending in the elevator with the others. Should I alert Mr. Stark?”
“What?” 2012 Y/N questioned, leaving the table in your dad’s lab to see the projection JARVIS had given you. It was Y/N’s dad but older. He carried himself with the same Stark pride, but Y/N could tell something heavy was weighing on his shoulders. “Where is this?”
“He is headed to the ground floor.” JARVIS replied. “Dr. Banner is in the stairwell so it seems he’ll be taking the elevator.”
“I’ll intercept him.” 2012 Y/N said, her curiosity taking over. “Let me know if he changes course.”
“Yes, ma’am.”
2012 Y/N headed out of the lab and towards one of the elevators. Y/N knew her dad and the rest of the team was heading down with Loki. The SHIELD team designated to take the Scepter would be in a different elevator. So she had hoped she’d get an empty one and you did. She quickly made her way to the ground floor, able to beat her dad’s doppelganger.
“Who are you?” 2012 Y/N asked when face to face with the older version of her dad. “Well, I know who you are but it doesn’t make sense.”
“Uh, Y/N..” He said softly. A part of him knew that he would see her, but he still wasn’t prepared for it. She was so young, so innocent. The fights and bruises and scars and tiredness hadn’t gotten to her yet. “What are you doing down here? I thought you were working on-”
“I was in the lab until JARVIS told me-” She began before shaking her head quickly. “Don’t distract me! When are you from?”
“Y/N, hon, listen.” Tony said, a slight sigh in his voice. “I’ll be gone in a few minutes. Please. Just pretend you never saw me.”
“Pretend I-” She said in shock. “Do you really expect me to forget that an older Tony Stark lookalike was wandering the Tower the exact day Loki was here? No, you came here for a reason.”
“Y/N?” 2012 Tony called, drawing her attention.
“Don’t move.” She told Tony before hurrying to her dad.
“Alright, move it Stuart Little.” Tony said to Scott, who had slid into 2012 Tony’s Arc Reactor. “Things are getting a little dicey and she won’t leave me alone for long.”
“You promise me you won’t die?” Scott checked.
“You’re only giving me a mild cardiac dysrhythmia.”
“That doesn’t sound mild.”
“Pull my pin!” Tony insisted quietly.
“Here goes!” Scott exclaimed before disconnecting 2012 Tony’s reactor. 2012 Tony fell to the ground, grasping his chest. 2012 Y/N dropped to her knees, calling for a medic. Scott kicked the case to Tony, who picked it up and headed off. Just as it seemed to have gone to plan, 2012 Hulk came barrelling through the door as he yelled about hating stairs. The door flying opened knocked the case from Tony’s hands and sent the Tesseract sliding away.
So Tony and Scott sat in a broken down car, waiting for Steve to leave the Tower. They had one chance. It had to be perfect, but it wasn’t. He had the Tesseract in his hand and he lost it.
“Sorry, buddy.” Tony explained when Steve came out. “We got a problem.”
“Huh, yeah we do.” Scott agreed quickly.
“Well, what are we gonna do now?” Steve asked in defeat.
“You know what, give me a break Steve.” Tony defended himself. “Y/N just interrogated me like I was in cahoots with Loki and I got hit in the head with a Hulk.”
“You talked to Y/N?” Steve asked with raised eyebrows. He was almost insinuating that his conversation with Y/N was the reason he lost the Tesseract.
“No, it was more like she was yelling at me for being in my own building.” Tony countered. “Imagine that. My own daughter scolding me for being in my building.”
“You said we had one shot. This- this was our shot. We shot it. It’s shot.” Scott ranted anxiously. “Six stones or nothing. Six stones or nothing.”
“You’re repeating yourself, you know that?” Tony interrupted. “You’re repeating yourself.”
“You’re repeating yourself.” Scott countered childishly. “You’re repeating yourself.”
“I dropped the ball.” Tony said simply.
“You ruined the time heist.” Scott whined.
“Is that what I did?”
“Yeah!”
“Are there any other options with the Tesseract?” Steve asked loudly, trying to refocus the two.
“No, no, no. There’s no other options. There’s no do-overs. We’re not going anywhere else.” Scott argued. “We have one particle left. Each. That’s it, alright? We use that- Bye bye. You’re not going home.”
“Well if we don’t try-” Steve emphasized. “No one else is going home either. Not Bucky.. Not Hope.. And not Y/N.”
“I got it.” Tony said simply. “There’s another way, to retake the Tesseract and acquire new particles. We’ll stroll down memory lane, military installation. Garden State.”
“When were they both there?” Steve questioned.
“They were there at a- I’ve a vaguely exact idea.”
“How vague?”
While Tony and Steve conversated as if it was obvious, Scott was left in the dark to ask questions that no one would answer. Tony told Scott to get back to the Compound, while he and Steve went to the 70’s. Tony headed off to find the Tesseract, where he ran into his father on the way. Steve went to find Dr. Pym, where he saw Peggy on his way.
“I guess I’ll be eating dinner in the pantry again.” Howard joked.
“I have a little girl. Well, two girls but my oldest is in high school.” Tony said with a proud smile.
“A girl would be nice… Less of a chance she’d turn out exactly like me.”
“What’d be so awful about that?” Tony asked. “My oldest is just like me.”
“Let’s just say that the greater good has rarely outweighed my own self-interests.”
“Where are you with names?” Tony asked, trying to make light conversation until Steve showed up.
“My wife likes Elmonzo for a boy.”
“Might wanna let that stew awhile.. You got time.”
“Let me ask you a question.” Howard said in turn. “When your kid was born- either of them- were you nervous?”
“Wildly, yeah.” Tony laughed. “But those two are the best things that ever happened to me.”
The two finished their conversation before Tony snuck off with Steve. The two went back to the present, where they met with the rest of the team. Everyone except Natasha. She had given up her life so Clint could bring back the Soul Stone. After a tense interaction by the lake, they agreed that Nat’s sacrifice had to be worth it. It had to work.
Rocket and Tony fit the Stones into a Gauntlet. Thor argued to be the one to snap, his personal grief was leaking out. He wanted to do something right, to help fix what he didn’t stop. But Bruce was the one to snap. He said he was made for it since the radiation from the Stones was mostly gamma.
“Remember, just bring back everyone Thanos snapped away to today. Don’t change anything from the past five years.” Tony reminded his friend.
“Got it.” Bruce nodded.
“F.R.I.D.A.Y. do me a favor and activate Barn Door protocol. Will you?” Tony asked as he gave Bruce space.
Metal sheets covered every window in the Compound, locking down the facility. Bruce put on the gauntlet, screaming in pain as the power surged his body. Painfully, he snapped his fingers before passing out, allowing the gauntlet to slide from his hand.
Everyone waited, time seemingly froze. They had no idea if it had worked. They started to wonder if it had been for nothing. Until Clint’s phone rang. It was his wife, his wife who had been lost in the Snap five years prior. They could hear the birds outside the Compound. Everything seemed to be looking up, until a barrage of missiles hit the Compound.
Back on Titan, you finished your original thought.
“-ever.” You said slowly, stepping in a small circle. Your dad was gone. But Quill and the rest of his friends were back, holding onto each other and checking on one another. Strange was there, watching as if he was waiting for something specific to change whatever path you were all on. “Peter…” When you didn’t get a response, you tried again. “Peter!?”
“What?” Quill yelled.
“Not you, moron.” You rolled your eyes. “Where’s my Peter?” You asked Strange.
“Why would I know that?” Strange questioned.
“You seem to know everything else.” You rolled your eyes. “While we’re at it, where’s my dad?”
“And Nebula.” Quill added.
“What happened?” You asked finally.
“Y/N?” Peter asked from the ground. He was laying on his back a few feet away from you.  “What the hell just happened?”
“Oh my god!” You exclaimed in relief. You rushed to his side and dropped to your knees. He quickly took your hand in his, squeezing it tightly. “Are you alright?”
“Little queasy but otherwise, I think I’m alright.” He offered a small smile.
“Hey, promise me something.” You said quickly, your joy of seeing him again taking over any rational thoughts.
“Anything.” He grinned.
“Once everything is in the clear, you take me on a date.” You said with a smirk. “A real date too, not just hanging out at my place.”
“Uh, yeah!” He said happily. “Yeah, for sure. Any- anything you want, Y/N.”
“We need to get back to Earth.” Strange announced. “It’s been five years since Thanos and the fight on this planet. Thanos won and snapped his fingers, wiped out half of all life. The ones left on Earth managed to reverse what Thanos did, which is how we’re all here right now.”
“So where’s my dad?” You asked again, helping Peter to his feet. “If we’re all back and everything was reversed, why isn’t he here with us?”
“Your dad didn’t disappear when we did. He’s back on Earth but Thanos is there, right now. We need to get to Earth.”
“In case you forgot, my suit is wrecked.” You laughed. “When we fought Thanos last time, we got our asses kicked. What makes this time different? Is this the one?”
“I can’t tell you that. But it’s different because you’ll be together this time.” Strange vaguely answered. “Now, you need to get to your lab to deal with all of that.” He gestured to your lack of a suit, as well as the gash you had forgotten about.
Strange opened a portal to a lake house. He stepped through and motioned for you to follow. When you crossed through, you didn’t recognize the area. The lake was new. The house was new. A lot had changed in five years apparently. A gentle squeeze of your hand let you know Peter was with you.
“Wait…” You said, taking a couple cautious steps forward. “Where are we? I thought you were taking me to my lab. My suit is- I need-”
“You’re where you’re supposed to be.” Strange interjected. “Go to the front door.”
“I’m not going up to a random person’s front door.” You laughed.
“Uh, Y/N?” Peter interjected quietly, pointing to something low behind you. You slowly turned and saw a small girl standing behind you, staring at you in confusion.
“Hi.” You said awkwardly. “What, uh- What’s your name?”
“Morgan.” She smiled. “Who are you?”
You opened your mouth to speak but saw something familiar around her neck. You knelt to her level, reaching for the pendant but deciding against it. You noted small details about her. Her brown hair, her round face. She seemed sweet, welcoming. Her eyes were kind, full of wonder and hope for the world. You wondered if she knew what happened five years ago.
“That’s a pretty necklace.” You commented. It was the prototype housing unit you designed. After you wore it, you realized you didn’t like the long necklace so you ditched it for the bracelets. The necklace was still a cute accessory, but you wondered how Morgan got it. “Can I ask where it came from?”
“Garage.” She said simply, her small fingers grasping the pendant. “Daddy said Y/N would let me have it.”
“Who’s Y/N?” You asked carefully.
“Daddy said she wanted to be a superhero, but she left. She was smart and popular.”
“Y- Your daddy?” You stammered. “Is your dad’s name Tony?”
“No.” She shook her head. “He’s just Daddy.”
“Okay, fair enough.” You chuckled. “Listen, I uh- I know your dad. Can you take me to the garage? The garage where you found the necklace.”
“I have to ask Mommy.” She held out a hand for you to take. You stood and took her hand, reaching quickly for Peter with the other. “Do you know Mommy too?”
“Y/N, it’s okay.” He nodded, squeezing your hand once before stepping back. Once you felt his grip disappear, you nodded for Morgan to start walking.
“Yeah.” You said suddenly, remembering she had asked a question. “I knew her a few years ago, before this super crazy thing happened.”
“Crazy?”
“Totally.” You nodded, earning a small chuckle from her.
“Mommy!?” She yelled as she entered the home. “I found Y/N!”
“Wha- How did you know?” You said, stopping in your tracks.
“Daddy talks bout you a lot.” She said before pointing to a collection of photos on the wall. “And your picture is everywhere.”
“Huh.” You smiled. “Guess he did miss me.”
“Morgan, honey, what are you yelling about?” Your mom came around the corner. “Oh my god.”
“Hi mom.” You smiled, hurrying across the room to hug her tightly.
“I can’t believe it.” She mumbled into your shoulder. “You’re here. Oh, my god, you’re here. Your dad really did it.”
“Wait, Dad? What did he do?” You asked, the smile still stuck on your lips as you pulled away slightly. “How did he do it?”
“Your dad figured out time travel, Y/N.” She said, still in amazement.
“That’s awesome.” You laughed. “But also terrifying! Anyway, Morgan said she found some of my stuff in the garage… I need to reload my bracelets and if there’s time, update to Dad’s new network.”
“You’re not gonna find what you need in the garage.” She shook her head, heading to a table in a room off of the Living Room. “One, cause it’s a mess. Two, cause your dad told me to give you these if you came by.”
She handed you a set of bracelets, engraved with an arc reactor and the word Stark. They fit your wrist perfectly, a slight blue tint to the metal. They were light, light enough that you could barely tell you were wearing them.
“Woah.” You mumbled in amazement. “These are awesome.”
“And fully upgraded from what I heard.” Your mom added.
“No shit.” You exclaimed, tempted to tap them together and see what upgrades your dad gave you.
“Shit.” Morgan repeated from beside you.
“No, no, no!” You exclaimed quickly. “That’s an adult word, Morgan. You can’t say it.”
“Shit.” She giggled.
“No!” You whined. “Mom is gonna kill me!”
“You’re right about that.” She nodded.
“Hi, sorry to interrupt.” Strange said, suddenly at your side. “But we need to go. Pepper, you’re gonna wanna suit up and come too.”
“I forgot about Rescue!” You exclaimed.
“What about Morgan?” Pepper countered.
“Happy Hogan.” He said, gesturing to Happy who was sitting on your parents’ couch. “We have to go now. Steve Rogers is standing up to Thanos alone.”
“Alone?” You asked, a heavy feeling in your chest. “Where’s my dad?”
“We have to go.” Strange said simply.
“If I get there and he isn’t okay-” You said seriously, knocking your bracelets together. “You are going to be the one to answer for it.”
The suit was remarkably light. You watched the reflection in the window as the nanites spread to cover your body. It moved with ease, as if you weren’t wearing a suit at all. The design was sleek, the way you had always made your suits. It was colored to mimic your dad’s, but your dad had added more gold accents to yours. You wondered what else your dad had upgraded it with, but you knew you’d find out in time.
Strange turned and opened a portal for you, Peter, and your mom to step through. Your mom hurried into the room wearing Rescue. You all quickly went through, armed and ready to fight. The scene you came out to was insane. Strange and his friend Wong had gathered everyone willing to fight.
You recognized T’Challa and his sister Shuri, who you had yet to meet but knew to be brilliant. You saw Bucky and Wanda on the other side of the battlefield. Hundreds of people from Wakanda, spaceships full of people, a woman on a Pegasus, a woman who could shrink the way Scott could. People from all over the universe were collected for the fight.
You saw who you thought was Thor, now holding an axe and seemingly gained a belly the size of a basketball. Steve had a broken shield and Mjolnir, which didn’t quite surprise you. But you still couldn’t see your dad.
“Do you see him?” You asked Peter.
“I do.” Your mom answered. “He’s alright.”
“Avengers..” Steve said over comms. Your body tensed, your heart rate picked up. The adrenaline began rushing through your veins. You weren’t quite sure if it was fear or excitement taking over your thoughts, but you let it wash over you. You looked out at the vast army before you, stretching into what seemed like forever. You sent out a silent prayer to whatever God would hear you, asking to keep you on the one path that would save everyone. “Assemble.”
All hell broke loose. Fighters charged from either side. You were separated from Peter early, having to fend for yourself. Your new suit was highly responsive, picking up on things before they entered your peripherals. The power it had was insane, cutting through Thanos’ army like butter. Your dad had added new extensions to the suit; displacer sentries, stabilizing thrusters, energy refocusers, an upgraded unibeam, and liquid nitrogen cannons.
Finally, you made your way to your dad. The fighting seemed to go around you two, as if the universe knew you two needed a minute. You let your helmet fall away, as did your dad. You both stood frozen for a minute, wondering if it was real.
“I got back and you were gone.” You said simply, your throat now tight. You blamed it on the dirt being kicked up from the fight. “Strange didn’t tell me where you were… Kinda freaked me out.”
“Well, I didn’t wanna hang out on an abandoned planet for five years.” He tried to joke. “Had to get back to your mom.”
“When I came back, I- I thought you-” You felt the tears coming. “I thought you were gone, Dad. And not just gone, like somewhere else, but gone as in dead. And then I thought how I didn’t want to live without you and I- I got really scared, Dad.”
“Y/N/N..” He said gently. You quickly closed the distance between you two and hugged him tightly. “It’s alright. We’re alright.”
“I love you, forever.” You mumbled into his shoulder.
“And ever.” He smiled.
You pulled away and sniffled, wiping your eyes quickly. “You have to tell me how you did it later. Time travel!? That’s insane. Oh! And Morgan, she’s super cute.”
“Morgan?” Tony eyebrows furrowed. “You met Morgan?” He smiled softly.
“Yeah, I met her when I went to get Mom and this awesome new suit.” You smiled, gesturing grandly to the suit you wore. “Which is incredible, by the way. I’m in love.”
“Hey! Holy cow!” Peter exclaimed as he ran into your dad. “You will not believe what’s going on. Do you remember when we were in space? And I got all dusty? I must’ve passed out, because I woke up and you were gone. But Doctor Strange was there, right? He was like ‘It’s been five years. Come on, they need us.’ and then he started doing the yellow sparkly thing that he does all the time and-”
You rolled your eyes in amusement as Peter rambled. Your dad was watching him with a soft look in his eyes, glancing quickly between Peter and you. Tony felt a deep sense of relief, a heavy weight lifted from his chest by seeing you two in front of him. The two people that he wanted to bring back were now in front of him. You stepped behind Peter and nudged him forward. Peter stumbled into Tony, who hugged the boy tightly. “This is nice.” Peter said gently.
“As grateful as I am to have you two alive, we have bigger issues.” You commented, seeing the van that was sounding off with La Cucaracha. “We need to get the Stones to that van.”
“How long do you need to get it working?” Tony asked Scott.
“Ten minutes, maybe.” He answered.
“Who has the Stones?” You asked as you, your dad, and Peter jumped back into the fight. You dodged attacks from either side, effortlessly spinning and ducking shots and projectiles. You saw Clint running through the crowd, one arm tucked against his chest. “Clint has them but he’s gonna need help.”
You were headed that way when you felt your leg being dragged down. You looked and saw a Chitauri soldier had grabbed your ankle and was pulling you down to the ground. You let yourself fall for a moment before turning gravity against the Chitauri and getting your feet aligned with it’s chest. You bent your knees slightly, using the alien as a push off. The thrust from your boosters burnt the Chitauri’s wrist to the point where it released you. You quickly shot off a blast to put a hole in it’s chest as it hit the ground. Your attention turned back to Clint as you saw him become surrounded.
“Hey.” Tony told Strange below you, causing your path to stop so you could listen. “You said one out of 14 million we win, yeah? Tell me this is it.”
Strange glanced up and saw you waiting for his answer. “If I tell you what happens, it won’t happen.”
You rolled your eyes within your helmet and took off. T’Challa got to Clint so you changed your course. You decided on a bit of revenge until you were needed to help move the Stones. “F.R.I.D.A.Y., give me locations on Thanos and Peter.”
“Peter is approximately 36 feet to your left with Shuri, no critical damage to the suit indicates no dire injuries.” Her automated voice answered quickly. “Thanos is six feet straight ahead. Maximoff approaching the target.” She showed you a zoomed image of where the Titan was.
“Keep me posted when those Stones change hands.” You ordered as you landed next to Wanda.
“You took everything from me.” She said angrily.
“From us.” You added, charging a blast from your palm.
“I don’t even know who either of you are.” Thanos replied.
“You will.” Wanda said simply, her eyes glowing red as her power swirled around her.
You stood watching in awe for a moment before remembering where you were. You shot your blast at the charging Thanos, knocking him off balance. Wanda quickly followed up with two huge rock piles, both were knocked in pieces by his sword. Wanda launched quick bursts at him, each one more powerful than the last.
You flipped over Thanos, sending off shots from above and then behind him. Together, you and Wanda brought the Titan to his knees. Wanda kept applying pressure, Thanos groaning in pain.
“The Stones have transferred hands to Peter.” F.R.I.D.A.Y. told you.
“You got this?” You asked, your focus now completely shifted. “I gotta go.”
“Go.” She nodded.
You took off quickly, F.R.I.D.A.Y. guiding you to Peter’s location. You find him surrounded by Chitauri, but his artificial limbs assisted him in the fight. You landed with enough force to push the last few Chitauri away from him and into someone else’s attack.
“You know, I was on the fence about the instant-kill. But it came in handy, didn’t it?” You joked.
Peter chuckled before more Chitauri came at you both. They grabbed at you, throwing you to the side and focusing on Peter. Everytime you tried to help, five of them shoved you off. You heard Peter call for help, to which Steve threw Mjolnir for him to grab. You took off ahead of the Hammer, hoping to keep a clear path for Peter. Peter shot a web, using Mjolnir as a ride out of the chaos.
A shot from one of the ships sliced Peter’s web, sending him to the ground fast. You dropped until you were able to grab him.
“I’m always having to help you out, aren’t I?” You commented teasingly as you tossed him to the woman on the Pegasus. You flew alongside her until a shot came too close for you to successfully dodge and threw you into Peter. It knocked him off the Pegasus and sent both of you crashing to the ground.
Peter had gotten up and tried to run, to get the Stones a little bit closer. A blast from the cannon landed right in front of him, sending him flying backwards so he would land in front of you. The impact shattered his artificial limbs and he let his mask fall away. He grabbed the gauntlet and tucked into a ball to protect himself from the shots still coming. You pushed yourself to your side as you put up an energy shield over you and Peter.
“F.R.I.D.A.Y., what are they firing at?” Tony asked as some of the cannons changed direction, the question playing in your helmet too as the system showed a projection of an incoming object.
“Something just entered the upper atmosphere.” She responded.
“Let’s hope it’s on our side.” You mumbled, momentarily dropping the shield to watch.
You looked up to see a bright flash of light break through one of the ships, disabling it and going through it once again to slice it in half. You were so impressed by the power it had that you almost didn’t notice the falling rubble.
“Little help would be nice!” You yelled over comms as you threw up another shield, to which Steve asked Danvers to help. You had assumed Danvers was the one who broke the ship in half so you kept still until help arrived. You dropped the shield and stared in awe as Peter spoke.
“Hi.” He said quickly, still keeping the gauntlet close. “I’m Peter Parker. She’s Y/N Stark.”
“So cool.” You said simply.
“Hey, Peter Parker.” She chuckled. “Y/N Stark. I saved your dad once. He ever tell you that?”
“He did not. But I came back to a giant war so there hasn’t really been time..” You nodded, pushing yourself to your feet and put your helmet on again.
“You got something for me?” She asked Peter, nodding towards the Stones.
“I don’t know how you’re gonna get it through all that.” Peter said tiredly as he stood and handed over the gauntlet.
You noted how tired he was, how beat up he was. But he was still ready to fight. Your heart ached, and you quickly realized that you didn’t just like Peter Parker. You loved Peter Parker. The revelation didn’t surprise you, but you wished it had come at a better time than that moment.
“Don’t worry.” Wanda said as she landed next to you.
“She’s got help.” One of the Wakandan warriors who you later learned to be Okoye added. Your mom joined the group, along with Pegasus woman, Valkyrie. Mantis, Hope Van Dyne,  and Nebula showed up, along with Shuri and Nebula’s sister, Gamora. Together, you fought through the army to get the Stones to Scott’s van.
You and your mom focused your fire high, aiming at ships and taller enemies. You followed behind Danvers, working on keeping her path clear. Thanos charged Danvers, dead set on stopping her for the Stones. You, your mom, Shuri, and Hope shot beams at him, knocking him to the ground.
“After this, you gotta show me how you made those.” You yelled to Shuri, who looked over and laughed slightly. “I’m Y/N, by the way.”
“Shuri. You seem to be doing well with what you have.” She teased. “Is it new?”
“First time in it.” You answered with a proud nod.
“Really, Y/N?” Your mom commented. “Now? Your dad just upgraded that suit for you.”
“You wanted me to make friends.” You defended, focusing back on the task at hand.
You all added extra force to throw Thanos back. He rolled, lifting his attention to where Danvers was headed. Since you all wouldn’t let him get to Danvers, he decided to destroy where she was headed. He threw his sword into the tunnel, destroying it and sending a massive energy wave that launched everyone back.
“The gauntlet is about twenty meters behind you.” F.R.I.D.A.Y. told you. “Mr. Stark can reach it but Thanos is already on his way.”
“Not if I have anything to say about it.” You replied, pushing yourself to your feet. You took off in a sprint before pushing off a short ledge, taking flight and headed that way. You watched your dad tackle Thanos before getting elbowed away. Thor and Steve kept him back, using Mjolnir and Thor’s new axe to their aid. Danvers beat you there and fought him off a minute, until Thanos threw her to the side.
You helped your dad up to his knees and watched Thanos put the gauntlet on. You and your dad dropped your masks, not worried about them anymore.
“Not again.” You whispered fearfully.
Danvers came back just in time, stopping him from snapping his fingers. She had the upper hand until Thanos pulled out one Stone and used it to send her flying. Strange looked over at you two, holding up one finger to tell you both that there was only one way.
Your dad stood slowly, understanding what he was meant to do. You understood it at the same time so you grabbed his hand, hoping to pull him back to you. “Dad, please.” You begged. “No. No! It’s not worth it.”
“I can’t lose again.” He said softly.
“Think about Morgan.” You tried desperately. “A-and me. I just got you back.”
“I am thinking of you two.” He replied gently. “I love you, forever.” He said before running to Thanos, trying to take the Stones from him.
You looked to Strange again in anger. You wanted to take it out on Strange, but the look he gave you made you reconsider. Strange looked at you as if you had a role to play, as if it wasn’t just about Tony. You and your dad had been through everything together. You had been glued to his side since Loki first arrived in New York. Every fight, every training session, every injury, and every upgrade you were there. You started it together. You had to end it together.
“F.R.I.D.A.Y., did my dad ever add the suit-to-suit interface to exchange nanites?” You asked quickly, running through the possibilities. “If he gets those Stones away from Thanos, it’s too much energy for him to handle. It needs to be dispersed.”
“It’s added but I’ll need time to activate it.” Her automated voice said. “Opening the entirety of both suits to interface with each other-”
“I don’t need a whole suit.” You cut her off. “My left palm. His right shoulder, upper shoulder. Clavicular region.”
“Less than a minute. Initiating interface.”
You ran over to your dad as he was knocked away. Your steps froze when Thanos raised his hand again and your dad laid face down.
“I am inevitable.” Thanos said in triumph. You braced for the second Snap, but nothing happened. You noticed a faint glow from your dad’s suit so you started running again.
“Interface available in 5… 4… 3… 2… 1… Interface active.” F.R.I.D.A.Y. announced to you.
Tony knelt in front of the Titan, Stones in hand. He shoved them into his suit, a Stone aligned with each knuckle. He thought about what he was going to do, the risk he was going to take. Someone had to do it, and it seemed only Tony could. But his mind brought back words that weighed on his heart..
Years ago, Steve had told him “The only thing you really fight for is yourself. You’re not the guy to make the sacrifice play, to lay down on a wire and let the other guy crawl over you.”
Peter said “I just wanted to be like you.”
Y/N had argued “I don’t know how to live a life without you and I don’t want to. I shouldn’t have to!”
Morgan had told him with a smile “I love you, 3000.”
Pepper once told him “You’re all I have too, you know.”
Y/N would always say “I love you, forever.”
But the heaviest one was what Strange had told him just minutes before, “If I tell you what happens, it won’t happen.”
“And I…” Your dad panted. You could see the power of the Stones coursing up his suit, scorched marks climbing to his neck. You got to him quickly, standing beside him. You placed your hand on his shoulder, the energy diverting up into your body as the nanites mixed.
It was white hot, burning every cell in your body. It was intense, scorching every nerve it touched. Your fingers trembled, your pulse beat unevenly. Your stomach muscle clenched, your knees shook. But despite it all, you stood tall. You gathered yourself with a deep breath and spoke.
“We.” You emphasized.
“We-” Your dad nodded slightly.
“-are Starks.” You two said together before he snapped his fingers. The surge brought you to your knees beside your dad, who used his other hand to reach across himself and steady you. You made sure to keep your left hand where it was, refusing to move it until you could get the Stones out. You two watched as every soldier Thanos brought, his whole army, turned to dust the way you did five years ago. Thanos sat on a nearby rock as he turned to dust himself.
You and your dad manage to get to a nearby debris pile where you turned and leaned your backs against. Your dad coughed as you reached over and pulled the Stones from his suit and dropped them next to you. You saw the relief in his posture once you took the Stones away.
“One hell of a day back.” You tried to joke, to which you both laughed weakly.
“You shouldn't have done that, Y/N/N.” Tony said weakly.
“There was only one way, remember?” You countered. “I had to. We started this together, we end it together.”
“Love you, kiddo.” Your dad smiled at you.
“Forever.”
“And ever.”
“Y/N?” Peter said gently. “Mr. Stark?” Peter ran up to you both, falling to his knees between you two. He gently took one of your hands in his. “Hey. Can you guys hear me? It’s Peter. We won. Y/N, Mr. Stark, we won. You did it. You guys did it.”
“You-” You coughed, smiling weakly at him. “You still owe me… a date, Petey.”
“Anywhere you want, Y/N/N.” He laughed sadly. He leaned forward and hugged both of you. “You’re gonna be fine, I promise.”
“Maybe not this time.”
Gently, Peter was guided away from you two, tears slowly falling down his face and leaving streaks in the dirt that covered his cheeks. You smiled softly, knowing you really did love the boy. You wanted to get up and comfort him, wrap your arms around him and hold him tight. But you didn’t have it in you. You could barely manage to keep your eyes open.
Your mom knelt in front of you two where Peter was. She sighed gently, trying to put on a brave face, but she was hurt the most. Your heart sank when you saw the pain she was in. She was looking at two of the three people that meant the world to her, sitting before her and fighting for their lives. She had watched her family sacrifice themselves for the world, a sacrifice those two - especially those two - never should’ve had to make.
“Hey.” She said softly. “You’ve both looked better.”
“Hey, mom.” You said as your dad answered, “Hey, Pep.”
“F.R.I.D.A.Y.?” She said, hoping for good news.
“Intense emergency surgeries needed. Immediate treatment raises survival rate by about 60%.” Her automated voice answered.
“Brother.” Shuri whispered to T’Challa as Pepper gently comforted her family. “I think I can heal them in my lab. They don’t have to die.”
“How would we get them there?” T’Challa asked honestly. He wanted to help them, but he didn’t think it’d be possible. “It is too far to guarantee there’d be time.”
“We can’t leave them to die here.” Rhodey commented. “We gotta at least take them home.”
“It’s okay.” Pepper nodded to you two. “We’re gonna be okay, alright? You two can rest now.”
“Love you, Mom.” You whispered. “Tell Peter… Tell him I love him too.”
You smiled softly at your mother before leaning your head back against the debris. Your eyes drifted shut, your body feeling heavy. You gave into the darkness as your dad did the same. The reactors in both of your suits faded to a dull glow, not quite off yet.
“The reactors aren’t off.” Peter noted, his voice strained from his pain. Not physical pain, but emotional pain. He had become so close to Y/N Stark to the point where he thought he loved her. She meant so much to him in the short time he knew her, so much so that he convinced himself she was his soulmate. He didn’t even believe in that kind of thing until he met her. Now he really wished he hadn’t hesitated. “They’re not gone.”
“Peter-” Steve tried to console him. Steve was feeling the loss too. He was devastated. Y/N and Tony were both practically family to him, the only family he had left. And now they were gone. They gave up their lives to save the world. Steve felt a pang of guilt, that even though they got everyone back, they still lost. Steve had insisted on it, that they would win this time around, but they still managed to lose.
“I can hear it!” He yelled, his voice breaking. “Their hearts are still beating.” He looked back to Y/N and Tony, their eyes shut. “They’re not gone. Just look!” He threw both hands forward, gesturing to the center glow of their chests.
“So what do we do then?” Thor asked. “The Compound is ruined. How are we supposed to help them?”
“Take them home.” Carol suggested. “You, Sparkles.” Carol pointed to Dr. Strange. “You can make portals. Make a portal to take them home, and then we go from there.”
“What do you actually think we can do for them?” Strange questioned defensively. “Those Stones-”
“I think that Peter Parker is onto something.” Carol countered easily. “Make a portal to take them home.”
“They won’t survive.”
“If you’re so sure,  at least let them die somewhere they’d be comfortable.” She rolled her eyes.
“We have the technology to heal them.” T’Challa spoke up. He figured it was the least he could do, to offer whatever Wakanda could give to help. “If you can get them home and keep them stable, Shuri and I can get what we need and bring it to you. But we’d have to hurry.”
“And you’re sure they’re alive?” Strange asked Peter.
“One hundred percent.” He responded confidently, his eyes on Y/N. “I know it.”
Strange opened two portals, one to Wakanda and one to the Stark’s lakehouse. Carefully, Rhodey scooped up Tony and Peter carried Y/N. Pepper went through first, hurrying to get Morgan out of the house so she wouldn’t see what her dad and sister looked like. Tony and Y/N were carried to their rooms and gently set up in their beds.
Wong helped the rest of those who fought get home. Steve, Bruce, Clint, and Thor followed the Stark family to their home, as did Carol. Dr. Strange went with T’Challa so he and Shuri would have a quick way back to Tony and Y/N. Pepper asked F.R.I.D.A.Y. to disable the suits so their housing units could be taken off and to keep their vitals posted. Both of their pulses were extremely weak, but they were still there. They were both put on ventilators - Tony kept a few on hand just in case the Compound wasn’t the best option for treatment - and were given an injection of painkillers.
Peter had been right.
Pepper stayed with Tony in their room, while Peter argued to stay with Y/N. Steve had offered, told Peter he should get home and get some rest, but Peter set himself up in the window nook and refused to get up.He had washed the dirt and blood off his face and out of his hair, his wet curls still dripping onto his shirt slightly. Despite using cold water to wake himself up, he still just wanted to curl up and sleep.
He called May after Steve left the room and went downstairs to talk to others. He had taken off his suit, leaving him in the clothes he had worn to the field trip, before he had gotten on the spaceship.
“Hey, May.” Peter said tiredly. He was exhausted, every muscle ached. He wanted to lay in his own bed and sleep for a year, but he knew what his priority was at the moment. “You okay?”
“Where are you, Peter?” She asked anxiously. “I- I called you twelve times and you didn’t answer. Are you okay? You- you never came home from your MOMA field trip and I-”
“I’m fine.” Peter cut in. “I- I got caught up in that dusty thing a few years ago.”
“Yeah, yeah, I think I did too.” She paused, letting out a heavy sigh. “Come home, Peter.”
“I can’t.” He said sadly. “Y/N, she got hurt real bad, May… I can’t leave her right now.”
“You love her, don’t you?” May asked, a small smile on her lips that Peter didn’t need to see to know it was there.
“Yeah.. I think I do.” Peter chuckled nervously. “I never got a chance to tell her.”
“You’ll get one… Don’t miss it.”
“Love you, May.”
“Love you too, Peter. Text me before you go to sleep and call me in the morning.”
“Will do.” And with that, Peter hung up the phone.
A small knock on the door sounded before it was cracked open enough for a small child to slip inside. She shut the door carefully behind her, as if she was used to sneaking around the house. She ran across the room until she stood in front of Peter, looking at him with her head tilted slightly. Slowly, unsure of what to do, Peter pulled his legs to his chest to make room for her. She climbed into the open space and crossed her legs, dropping her hands in her lap.
“Morgan, right?” Peter asked, leaning his head back as he tried to stay awake.
“Who are you?” She asked plainly.
“Peter Parker.” He gave a lazy salute.
“Are you her boyfriend?”
Peter chuckled. “No.. Not yet, at least.”
“You like her?”
“I do.” He nodded with a lazy smile. “I like her a lot.”
“She’s pretty.” Morgan said, as if Peter hadn’t noticed that. “Is she hurt the way Daddy is?”
“How do you know that?”
“I was sneaky.” She whispered, bringing one finger to her lips to emphasize how quiet she was. Peter chuckled in response.
“Yeah, Y/N is hurt.” Peter said carefully. “But she’s gonna be okay. You know why?”
“Cause she’s like Daddy.” She said confidently. “And Daddy is Iron Man.”
“Yeah, but also because she has to come back to her family. You and your mom and-”
“And you.” Morgan cut in. “Want to make a card with me?”
“You go get started and I’ll meet you down there.” Peter responded, holding out his pinky. “I just need a minute and I’ll go downstairs after. Pinky promise.”
“Okay.” She nodded, quickly finishing the pinky promise. “Bye, Peter!” She said before quickly sneaking out of the room, leaving just Y/N and Peter.
“When we met, I never thought we’d end up here..” Peter said to Y/N, even though he knew she probably couldn’t hear him. “After everything we’ve been through, it kinda seemed like you were invincible. Nothing could really take you out like this. I mean, yeah, we both came out of everything with some sort of aches and pains, but not like this.
“I know you’re fighting for your life, Y/N/N. And I know you have your own reasons to fight, but I gotta ask you to fight for me. Please… I just- I love you, Y/N Stark. And I want to be able to tell you when you can actually acknowledge it. I- I want to take you to parties and school dances. I want you to come to Decathlon a-and laugh at how easy the questions are because you’re brilliant.” He chuckled lightly before closing his eyes, curling in on himself a little more. “Just come back for me, please.”
A light knock sounded before Shuri entered, a cart of equipment being led in behind her. Two Wakandan soldiers followed behind with her equipment, setting things up while Shuri went and spoke to Peter. Peter sat up slowly, unsure of how long he had been asleep.
“We can take it from here.” She told Peter, gently putting a hand on his shoulder. “You should get something to eat, Peter. You look starved.”
“Yeah..” He nodded slightly. “But I have a card to make first.” He smiled lazily before taking one last look at Y/N. “She’s gonna make it, right?”
“I’m going to do everything I can.”
“Oh, she kinda got stabbed like right here-” Peter’s hand hovered over Y/N’s side, where he remembered Thanos using her suit’s blade against her. “That was before we got dusted so I don’t know if it’s still there but…” He shrugged, pausing to decide if he wanted to ask his next question. “How’s Mr. Stark doing?” Peter asked carefully, now fully knowing if he was ready to hear how his mentor was. “Is he gonna..”
“Mr. Stark is going to be okay.” Shuri promised. “We could not save his arm, but we saved him. The only thing I don’t know is how soon he’ll wake up. His injuries were rather traumatic and that kind of shock takes a toll on the human body.”
“Thank you.” Peter said honestly. “For being on my side back there and believing they could be helped. And for being willing to help them.”
“The world owes them a debt that can never be repaid.” Shuri said honestly, scanning Y/N with her Kimoyo Beads. “It is the least I could do.”
“I’ll leave you to it then.” Peter nodded before heading downstairs to join Morgan in her card making.
Steve handed Peter a plate of food and two water bottles, reminding Peter that he had to take care of himself too. Most of the adults stayed in the other room, discussing their worry in quiet whispers. Carol sat with Peter and Morgan around the coffee table, each of them making a card. Morgan was finishing her card for Tony, while Peter worked on one for Y/N and Carol made one that was meant for both of them. Carol and Peter took turns telling jokes or making fun of their own drawings to make Morgan laugh. By the time they were done, they each made a card for Y/N and Tony, until Morgan fell asleep against Peter.
“You really care about them, don’t you?” Carol asked Peter once Morgan was asleep.
“Y/N and Mr. Stark believed in me when no one else did.” Peter began fondly. “When I went with them to Germany to fight Captain America, she told me that I was going to have to put up with her for a long time. She told me that she wasn’t gonna let anything bad happen to me, that we had to stick together. But now... It’s different. When she smiles at me, I feel dizzy. When she laughs, I can’t help but laugh with her. Even when she looks at me, I- I don’t know how to explain it.”
“I can explain it.” She smirked at him. “That’s love, kid.”
“It is?” Peter asked. “That’s kinda what I had hoped it all meant.”
“Did you ever tell her?”
“I had a chance… But I hesitated.” He admitted, remembering on Titan when he wanted to kiss her. “But if I had known this would’ve happened-”
“Yeah, but you didn’t know.” She cut him off. “What matters now is if you’re gonna hesitate next time?” She challenged.
“God, I hope not.” Peter chuckled.
Soon, Shuri and her brother, along with the two Wakandans that came with her, were coming down the stairs. Most of the equipment was packed and being carried with her. Peter was careful not to move and wake Morgan when Shuri came downstairs.
“They’re both going to make it.” She said with a proud smile. “However, there are some things we could not fix.”
“Like what?” Steve asked tensely.
“We could not save Mr. Stark’s right arm. The damage was too severe.” Shuri explained. “They’ll both have burn scars up into their chest and neck area. Mr. Stark’s may even reach the side of his face. As for Y/N..” She paused to show a detailed image of the inner workings of the lower arm, the nervous system breakdown and muscular system. “This is what her right arm looks like, the one that didn’t take on the energy of the Stones. And this-” She swiped to a new image, an image where some of the nerves were in pieces. “-is her left arm. Unfortunately, her damage seemed to have found its way to her nervous system. Some nerves were seared through, meaning she has lost all sensation in her left arm, as well as some of her finer motor control.”
“So what exactly does that mean for her?” Pepper asked anxiously.
“It means she will not be able to fully move her fingers and possibly her wrist, and she won’t physically feel anything at any point on her left arm. But she will live.” Shuri explained. “I’ve also healed a stab wound she had from her first fight with Thanos, and there won’t even be a scar.. They should wake in a few days. They are both on IV drips with painkillers. I’ve done all I can.”
And with that, Shuri left. One by one, the rest of the Avengers that were there left. Peter left the following morning, having fallen asleep on the floor with Morgan. Happy drove him home, but Peter fell asleep again on the way. His body was more exhausted than he had been letting on, and now it had caught up to him.
He tried to get back to normal life. He went back to school, saw Ned and MJ. He went back to Decathlon, but it just didn’t feel right to him until he could hear your voice again. A few days after he was settling back in, he got a call from a number he didn’t recognize.
“Hey, Spiderman.” You said. Your voice was as sweet as honey, making his heart beat three times faster. “Got time for a visit?”
“For you?” Peter replied, pretending he had to think about it. “Definitely. Where at?”
“Right here.” You said, stepping out of the car to stand in front of him. “Hey, Peter.”
“Hi.” He breathed a sigh of relief. Seeing you standing before him, your long-sleeved shirt buttoned up to the top to hide the burns, it made his chest feel tight. He wanted to hug you, to pull you against his chest and never let you go. But he hesitated, just slightly. His biggest concern was how fragile you were.
“You’re looking at me like you’re scared.” You commented, scrunching your eyebrows in confusion. “I thought you’d be happy to see me.”
“I am!” He promised quickly. “I am happy to see you. I just… I have something I want to tell you.”
“I have something I need to tell you too… But it can wait till that date you owe me.” You winked.
“No, it can’t wait.” Peter said, swallowing hard and gathering all his courage. “I wanted to tell you this back on Titan, but I chickened out.”
“Peter, it’s not that serious.” You laughed nervously. “It can wait until tonight, okay?”
“No. It can’t.” He insisted, grabbing your hand. “Y/N, I- I love you and I really want to be with you.”
“That’s great.” You smiled widely, squeezing his hand gently.
“What?”
“Peter, I realized something before this.” You gestured to your left arm. “When Carol came to help us, and I got a good look at how beat up you were but you were still willing to fight… When we were on the beach and you wanted to make sure Toomes didn’t die even though we were on opposite sides… When we were in Germany and you said you trusted me… There are so many little moments between now and the moment I met you that have brought me to this one, single, recurring idea.”
“And what idea is that?” Peter asked smugly, taking a step closer to you. Suddenly, his confidence was through the roof.
“That I love you, Peter Parker.” You smiled widely. “And I really want to be with you.”
“That’s… amazing.” He sighed happily. “Otherwise this could’ve been really awkward."

How many works do you have on ao3?: I have two accounts— because I have two longish fics on hiatus on one and I felt guilty posting other things djsjxjsjs. So in total 14!
What’s your total ao3 word count?: 169,751
How many fandoms have you written for and what are they?: Agent Carter, Fallout: New Vegas, Detroit: Become Human, Cyberpunk 2077, Destiny 2, Loki series and The Wayhaven Chronicles.
What are your top fics by kudos?:
1. Continuously, Without Interruption (pwp) (CP2077)
2. The Ostensive Fumblings of Being Human (DBH)
3. Honey, I’m not much of a dancer. (but for you I’ll try) (Agent Carter)
4. Exit Wounds (CP2077)
5. A concession (Loki series)
Do you respond to comments? Why or why not?: yes I do respond to comments even just to say thank you!
What’s the fic you’ve written with the angstiest ending?: no angst ending only happy unless you count the ones people are waiting for me to update
Do you write crossovers?: nope!
Have you ever received hate on a fic?: no, I did get some very critical comments on a chapter of my DBH fic which ended in me pulling and rewriting the chapter… the story was better for it but that shit HURTED.
Do you write smut? If so what kind?: mostly of the pwp with feelings variety. I don’t get very kinky and if I can’t visualize the characters being intimate I just??? Cant write it. Sometimes I write indulgent and very explicit porny fics and sometimes it is very emotional and less slutty LOL. Ive written a TON of porn for the Obey Me fandom on @belpheroo
Have you ever had a fic translated?: yes! Someone translated Cont., Without Interruption into Russian and I think someone started working on translating my DBH fic but have not seen it posted.
What’s your all time favorite ship?: currently it is darklina, which I have never even written for. I also enjoy reylo and ATTEMPTED a fic and ultimately gave it up. I’m a huge fan of interactive fiction and x reader fic so— my fav ship is my self insert with my fav character?! LOL
What’s a WIP that you want to finish but don’t think you ever will?: My agent Carter fic… I just can’t get back into that mindset. I’m worried my last chapter of my DBH fic will go the same way.
What are you writing strengths?: I’ve been told portraying romantic and platonic banter/chemistry and that I’m good at invoking all the senses in scenes. Makes them feel tactile in the readers mind.
What are your writing weaknesses?: 🙃 finishing. I always have the ending preplanned and everything follows a flow and an outline and then I start daydreaming my next project and move on before things are done.
What are your thoughts on writing dialogue in other languages in your fics?: I don’t do it very often or I cop out by italicizing the words and saying what language they are speaking. I included some Japanese in one of my CP2077 fics but it was like— one word sentences.
What was the first fandom you wrote for?: on ao3 it was dragon age 2. That fic has since been orphaned!
What’s your favorite fic that you’ve written?: ehhh I’m not sure. I like a lot of my TWC fics especially the one titled “Sense”. My DBH fic holds a special place because I spent so much time on it.
Tagging: UHHHH idk who all has an ao3 account in my mutuals?! CONSIDER YOURSELF TAGGED— feel free to @ me as your tagger so I can read your answers!

Perfection
Hongjoong x fem!reader
Smut/Fluff
¡Warning! use of vibrating cock ring, overstimulation, praising, hickeys, sad joongie :(, Unprotected sex (use condoms pls)
Word count ; 1.1k
Unedited, written in hospital so im sorry if something is off
Summary ; Being a leader and a producer is hard and overwhelming. Being put at such a position can make someone feel less of themselves. But luckily you have each other to remind yourselves you’re pure perfection.
“Hongjoong! San won’t stop touching me!” Looking over at Mingi, Hongjoong rolls his eyes at the boys chasing each other. Normally he doesn’t mind their shenanigans, but today was just not the day.
His head ached of a horrible migraine, he had no motivation to produce songs, and the manager wouldn’t stop bugging him about another comeback.
His phone screen lights up with a buzz, seeing a text from you. His heart softens a bit. You ended your text with a smile, to which he couldn’t help but smile.
‘I’ll be home soon, I love you’ He texts and puts his phone down, returning to the lyrics he had no motivation for.
Hours fly when he looks up at the clock. 1:34 am. He sighs and pounds the desk in frustration, letting out a loud noise. All he got done was half a verse. The boys stop their dancing and look over at him, frowning at his frustrated state.
“Let’s go home. We have a rest day tomorrow and you should get all the rest you need” Yunho flashes his puppy smile. Hongjoong smiles softly at the boy and nods his head.
The ride home was the longest ride to him, despite only being 10 minutes. He sighs in relief when the taxi drops him off at your guys’ shared place.
He walks in, not expecting you to be up. To his surprise, you’re there on the couch watching t.v. while being on your phone.
“Hey,” he says quietly “You didn’t stay up so late for me right? I don’t want you to risk your health”
You look up at him with a cocked head. Something was off about him. He seemed so fragile, which was unlike him. You pat for him to sit next to you on the couch. He follows your actions and sits next to you, broken smile on his face.
“No, I just couldn’t sleep but...” You looked at him deep in the eyes “Is everything alright? Bad day?”
His eyes start to water as he looks at you. Your heart races slightly, thinking you said the wrong thing. His lips start to quiver and tears start to fall. His body automatically hugging you for comfort. His tears were heavy as you could feel them soak your shoulder. Your hands find their way to his hair, rubbing your hands through. Silent but effective comfort.
“I-I hate myself” He starts which causes you to go into an alert mode. “What?”
He raises his head up. “I can’t do anything right today. Or any day. I just- I wanna-“ You cut him off by kissing his lips. A kiss meant to be innocent and comforting. But when you pulled away, his eyes were changed. His hand moves to your waist and he pulls you in again, for another kiss. This time more rough and passionate.
“Shut the fuck up” you mumble against his lips. He opens his eyes but continuing to kiss you, mumbling a ‘hm?’
“You’re perfect.” You state as you pull away, just to go back to his neck, sucking on the soft skin sure to have marks afterwards.
A breathy moan escapes his lips, putting a hand on your back as you kiss his neck with passion. “Look at this handsome face” you mumble when your kisses move from his neck to up his jaw to the side of his face. “Perfect. Absolutely perfect”
He blushes a deep shade of red, never have you praised him during a heated session before. He would be lying if he said he didn’t love it.
You take his hand, and you both walk to the bedroom. He pushes you down on the bed, returning the favor with hickeys and praises. “You’re so good to me. I don’t deserve you”
He grinds down on your core, his hard on causing bliss to run throughout your body as you let out a moan. “Fuckkkk” you both moan, almost in unison.
He overs over you, knees on either side of your thighs, reaching into the drawer. You assume its a condom, but to your shock, he pulls out the cock ring you bought him. But you have yet to have used it yet.
You bite your lip as he unzips his jeans, pulling them down and off. Revealing the boner painfully visible through his boxers. Your hand reaches to his crotch, grabbing his cock with a soft touch. He grinds into your hand and moans out.
He pulls down your panties, tossing them to the side. He rubs his clothed crotch against your exposed core. The feeling was euphoric, an unexplainable feeling sending a wave through your body. “Look at this pretty cunt, hmm”
“Fuck I cant wait for this” He pulled down his boxers and put on the cock ring. Turning it on to a setting higher than what you’d expect for a first time use. A low groan comes out of him.
“Jooooongie~ you look so big” you choke when he uses his fingers to play with the wetness of your core. “Is-Isnt that a high setting? We’ve never used it before”
He smirks down at you “well darling ive just never used it with you” he kisses you passionately, unexpectedly inserting himself inside you. Multiple moans come out of you both, mumbling the kiss.
Your hands his hair as his hands are roaming your body. “Look at this beautiful body, beautiful pussy. Beautiful neck.” He says as he pulls away from the kiss, admiring his artwork on your neck, as you admire the artwork you created on his neck.
“Just look at you” you moan out, pulling his lips back onto yours. “you always know how to pleasure me good.” you mumble against his lips and kiss him. “You’re such a hard worker” kiss “world’s best leader” kiss “you’re perfect” kiss.
He’s circling his hips, letting the vibrator hit your clit lightly. You mewl out noises you’ve never let out before. “Harder-“ you breath out, barely able to get out a word.
“As you wish baby” He presses harder against your clit, a sudden jolt going through your body.
Your leg starts to shake as you near an orgasm. “J-Joong” he smirks at your state. “Release babygirl. Come on now” he kisses your neck as he feels you hit your orgasm.
He thrusts into you a bit, then cums into you. He admires his cum dripping out of your pussy. “Fuck sweetheart”
He turns off the cock ring and takes it off. He leans down, kissing you sloppily. He pulls away and lays down next to you.
“Babe?” He says quietly. Panting, you look over at him. “Yeah?” You notice a different look in his eye, similar to the one before.
“Did you really mean it? When you said im perfect?” He says, a hopeful look in his eyes. You smile at him, kissing his cheeks, nose and lips. “Of course I meant it. With every bone in my body.” He smiles and kisses you back.
“I love you, y/n. Thank you”
