Something I will say which is more of a critique of just forgotten realms in general since it's p old and kinda basic is how I wish Shar wasn't just portrayed as some she's always evil all the time she's just a horrible goddess.

It's so weird to me goddesses like Shar and selune are like portrayed as always good or always bad when looking at the greater scope.

Cuz that's what I personally think feels was missed with shadowheart in that she represented a balance between it. And it's also why on my personal blog I think personally letting her parents die is the "best" outcome because she learns to accept loss in a healthy way. And learns how to cope with it and remember. There's hope for the future but loss will always follow you and it's not an inherently evil thing. Her parents dying isn't inherently evil because they kinda wanted to and deserve their time to rest. Loss isn't an evil thing we all lose parts of ourselves

It's only in ways we handle the loss and how it's inflicted does it become like. Problematic. But loss always will be part of life and portraying shar as some. Evil horrible goddess we're supposed to hate cuz the sisters are fighting and selune is great and wonderful good while Shar is evil. I feel they just don't flesh out how there's still like good and bad in each. The gods are always evil or always good and it makes me :??? When the characters in bg3 are so grey

Toon Zelda redesigns! I've never been fond of the Toon Zelda design, and these girls deserve some individuality. Design notes and rambles below the cut :D

(time to turn the proper grammar off i aint capitalizing all this. warning: i am verbose)

first up, tmc zelda!

shes the one most like toon zelda, since i felt like the vibes fit the *most* (though not a lot). also, with her place on the timeline, i could justify a lot of bits, like the wings and the cape

the cape! obvs it comes from the toon zelda base design, but also it involves skyloftian fashion! i take the timeline as a challenge, and i once saw a take somewhere that the skyloftians all wear their family crests (most often birds lol) on their person. zelda here (and link too) do just that, wearing their family crests on little caplets. on the back is, of course the royal crest

i went very cutesy princess for her. tmc has such a *whimsical* vibe that i feel is very. muted? by the fact its stuck with the toon style. so i wanted to put in that vibe here. also her sprites make it look like her skirt is super poofy, so how could i not?

curly hair: i wanted something interesting, and most zeldas have straight hair. so! adds to the cuteness

i didnt draw it so well but she (and link) both have very sleepy expressions. zelda especially just has a sleepy expression in her sprite, its quite adorable.

shes not as decked out as other princesses, cuz i see tmc taking place before the royal family really starts to get *royal* as we see it. shes still of course got a tiara and some embroidery tho.

Tetra! her base design isnt all that changed from the original. her name is a fun hc of mine tho. i think "von Hyrule" sounds better as a surname than just "hyrule". shes not zelda, but shes still a descendant.

(WW) princess z (as i call her)

I went more oot zelda vibes for her, since she would be closer, temporally, to oot. i also went very warm, since ive never seen the flood as a *warm* endeavor.

shes got the shoulder danglies, as most zeldas have shoulder armor of some kind. the danglies instead of actual armor are supposed to kind of evoke a royal sea captain kind of vibe.

shes ghostly, with a fish-eyed stare. shes been dead and gone for a long time. shes also a bit taller and a few years older than tetra (as of ww). shes just some spectre the king saw in tetra, not at all a close match

tetra, being smaller than princess z, doesnt fit into the clothes. the dress is too big for her (as is in canon gd that skirt is WAY too long for her), the coat is baggy. the role of a princess *literally* does not fit her.

the ribbons! theyre my replacement for the wings, and they represent the wind in the game! since its represented by white lines, the ribbons are a perfect symbolic match. (also, a note, tetras hair is shorter and coarser than princess z's)

i mostly bullshitted the blue panel but the vague idea i gave it was 'a hope for the triforce to give good fortunes to the people' (pictured as dots, mostly behind her arms)

Pirate Queen Tetra

ph! about a year has passed, and tetra has really grown into her own! as well as literally grown!

shes still tetra, pirate and captain, but shes incorporated that royal heritage into her identity: quite literally! she made piecemeal of the original outfit (what was left of it anyway after the fight), and added bits and pieces to her new life.

she also takes full advantage of said heritage to call herself pirate queen. its great for branding. whos gonna say she CANT go by pirate queen?

the seagull feather is from Aryll. only crew member tetra wears a trinket from (who can say no to that ball of sunshine! certainly not tetra)

not many notes. yall can see whats there. (also she still wears her hair in a bun, its just in a low bun (you can almost see it) when she wears her hat)

st zelda!

first note is: shes not a princess! shes an heiress of the company tetra had made and left behind. hence her title of Lady zelda. ("new hyrule" rly just like-- the ending of ww was *literally* that hyrule is dead and thats okay. how did they miss that :sob emoji:) also calling her Lady Zelda fits with the train vibes

shes in a 1880s style bustle dress because 1) i am OBSESSED with bustle dresses. i love them. so much. 2) the more historical vibe works really well with trains! also a lot of the other outfits in the game have late victorian vibes, so shes certainly not out of place.

her hat (and gloves): any proper lady has a hat on when going about town, however, when she gets body snatched, she pulled out her hatpin to use (ineffectively) as a weapon (she IS tetras great-great-granddaughter), causing her to lose her hat *and* hairdo.

shes still got the hatpin in her ghost form, too. she uses it to threaten people for funsies

Ribbons! on the topic of hairdo, her ribbons! visually tying her to tetras design, the ribbons here instead take on the image of train tracks, with her pin (on the left side) evoking a train engine. the pin also makes her look rich and girly. when her hair comes undone, this makes the ribbons all loose, like how the train tracks disappear in game. (the hat also kinda connects her to tetra)

so, around the time the original dead poets society was formed, we were in the sorta beginning of WW2 (if we assume the dps was founded in 1941, definitely couldve been later. u should read @pencileraser1's post about keating.), and if ur familiar with US history, propaganda surrounding the war was RAMPANT, most commonly in the form of "we want u to join the military!!!!1!!!!" ive mentioned this in a previous post from however long ago that pro-military propaganda was so rampant that they often taught it in schools, no doubt especially so in private schools. now this could ultimately mean nothing in relation to the og poets, they so easily could have eaten it up and thought nothing of it, they did essentially just do homework in the woods. but in my joe biden's america ass brain thats not how it goes, just cuz. to me its sort of a pipeline of start to rebel by forming the dps > slowly realise after talking that the things theyre teaching u in terms of "rahhhh military!!!" is kinda fucked up > growing distrust of us military in general > something something US wasting money on weapons and war and shit > something something anti capitalism.

i like applying this logic to other periods, like the 60s for example (i knowwww keating was gone by then, lets just pretend, make it an au i guess) i can definitely see the poets (or some at least) delving into the hippie movement on the down-low, although its easy to call into question whether hippies were an actual group of activists or just a sort of cultural movement. again - i dont know much about the history of hippies so i dont have much to add, lets go with a general "anti vietnam war" ideology to keep things simple. sorta similar to the og poets in terms of war bad > socialism pipelines, and the SDS was formed roughly around this time? peak was in 1968-69, but thats kinda all i got. if anyone enjoys this idea and knows a lot abt that point in leftist history then definitely feel free to add anything on if u want.

in conclusion: mona hates war and the military and projects it onto the poets because they wanted to and also they had a conversation with tristan about propaganda in relation to dps. this is a bunch of random sorta points just strewn together so my apologies for how messy this is.

not Completely sold on the design or the little notes atm, but its the best i could come up with that wasnt either Goner/Follower Noelle, Noelle But With Error!Sans palette, or Incomprehensible Blob... also no clue if im ever actually going to do anything with this au considering i havent touched my uty au in a while but i guess we'll see.. some elaboration on my current thoughts though:

- her name would probably not be written as Missing!Noelle since the entire thing is the pun, i personally prefer MISSINGNOelle but i think any capitalization is fine as long as its one word

- IF i did anything with her itd still be a half joke au on my side, partly cuz im not super into creepypasta/internet horror stuff enough to take it seriously

- sketch says she can use dark world spells but im imagining theyd be more static-y than ice, both for a "digital snow" joke, and as a Somethings Wrong (think bugs bunny from scoob and shag, if you know)

- alternative to the static is corrupted sprites, static was just easier for me to imagine and figure out how to draw

- she may not be malicious but she CAN accidentally destroy universes through her powers if it feels wrong enough to her, like a swap or fell universe (if shes going to be an error equivalent she may as well be potentially dangerous, for the bit)

- still blacks out like with snowgrave when she does go into universe destroying mode though, from her perspective she just suddenly wakes up back "out of bounds", never aware of what happened

- she CAN still be nice and cheerful, shes not overly depressed or anything, she just gets unsettled over being Backrooms'd and hasnt fully grasped the whole alternate universe thing just yet, thinking everyones being replaced including herself

- also her original universe Probably isnt actually destroyed, she just doesnt know how to get back, and with so many variations its hard to tell exactly which ones hers (and because she doesnt fully grasp the concept of aus and thinks its just a silly theory, shes not going to be able to answer "what was your universe like")

It all started in a bathroom stall. Steve and Robin had been drugged by Russians, and were high off their minds, a little less now though.

"But Tammy Thompson's a girl..."

Robin, his best friend, his crush at one point, like girls. He knew that if he had been who he was in high school, he would have walked away from her forever, and thank fuck that he isn't. It finally, REALLY clicked for him; girls can like girls, and boys can like boys, and it isnt weird, or of the devil, or whatever people are saying.

Now he understood one of his kids more, and thats always a plus. Will probably would have never said anything explicitly to Steve. Will liked Steve, he thought he was cool, but Will could barely work up the guts to tell Dustin, Lucas and Mike (though Mike sort of always knew) But Steve also kind of knew, so he didn't make Will come out or anything, just pulled him aside and told him that he could be who he was, and that Steve wouldn't judge.

Then Steve thought. He thought back on high school, about the weird feeling he had about Tommy H. Steve thought he just loved him as a friend would. He was wrong about that feeling. He realized he didn't have the "close friends" feeling about Tommy H. after being taken to the police station after getting into one heck of a fight with Johnathan Byers. Yeah, so those close friend feelings weren't close friend feelings. "King Steve" had once had a *crush* on Tommy H. of all people.

This didnt make any sense to Steve.

"But i like girls, i always have. How could i have like Tommy H. in that way, and still like girls" he thought

He didn't know what to do, so he asked the closes one to him, his Platonic (with a capital P) other half, his best friend, who also happened to be a lot more knowledgeable about this topic. He asked Robin.

"Hey Rob, what if someone, let's call them, Mark. What if Mark had always like girls, but one day he realized he liked a guy. What would Mark do?"

"Well, I don't know "Mark", but i assume that he would panic a bit, then go to his best friend and tell her about it, and then she would say ' Well, Mark, you can be bisexual. That means you like girls AND boys' and then she would hug Mark"

Robin hugged Steve.

"Its ok", she started, "that you're still figuring out who you are, Steve. And im always here if 'Mark' has anymore questions"

They laughed and went back to whatever they were doing on that particular night.

Then the world needed saving again, and one Eddie Munson was a suspect for murder. Dustin knew Eddie, and knew that he would never do that, so Steve had to help Dustin (and Eddie) by 1) getting rid of Vecna (a.n. getting rid of the B, iykyk) and 2) clear Eddie's name

It did not go according to plan, of course. First Steve comes closer to death than he would like, (which is nowhere near it) then Death looks Eddie in the eyes, but Eddie, being himself, looked Death straight back and told him, 'No, fuck off'. At least they finished Vecna. (as far as they know)

But the biggest thing that didn't go according to plan was Steve's new big fat crush on Eddie-fucking-Munson. Of course, because Steve needs more drama in his life, so why doesn't Life through a crush on a drama queen like Eddie (a.n. get it, cuz he's a theater kid. idec if its cannon, its just flat out true) into his life.

The worst part of it is that now Stee knows what he's feeling and has to worry about if Eddie's straight or not, and knowing his luck, Eddie was about 99.99% likely to be straight. But Steve held on to that 00.01% chance that *maybe* Eddie liked guys. But Steve? Why would someone like Eddie Munson, goofball, metalhead, and 'dragon game narrator thing', like boring old, ex-king, Steve Harrington.

But Eddie keeps looking at him in a way, a way that makes Steve feel like he might have a decent chance with Eddie. He keeps pressing up to Steve. To be fair though, Eddie does that with everyone, y'know, getting up in their faces, leaning on people. But with other people, it's only for a few seconds, with Steve, though, he lingers, like he wants to be near Steve all the time. Steve wouldn't mind that though, not at all.

Guess who Steve tells first. If you guessed Eddie, then you're wrong. If you guessed Robin, then you win! He didn't really want advice, he just wanted to tell someone; to get it off his chest.

Robin listened, as a good friend does, and they moved on from it, Steve not wanting to linger on the subject.

Then, one evening, the whole gang had come over to Steve's for a movie night. They were 2 movies in, when Eddie left to go smoke outside. Robin encouraged Steve to go with him, even though Robin didn't like that Steve still occasionally smoked, she could let it rest for a bit in the name of love.

Outside, Eddie was leaning against the railing of the back porch. Steve walked up to the railing as well, silently.

"Nice sky. Pretty stars" Eddie said, in between puffs, breaking the silence

"Yeah, it is. You happen to have an extra?"

Eddie handed Steve a spare cigarette and handed him his lighter as well. The two smoked in silence for about 10 minutes.

"Didn't know you smoked, Steve"

"Surprised?"

"Yeah, i guess. I don't really know. I've been thinking, y'know. Before a few months ago, the only way i knew you was by how you were in high school. Dustin had told me you changed, and i guess i believed him, but I never knew how much you'd changed. I've said it before and i'll say it again, you're a good guy, Steve. Hell, you're a great guy, and i guess I'm still jealous of-"

"Of what?" Steve interpreted him. "Of my stupid hair? Of how i can't win a fight? Of my stupid fucking polo shirts? What's there to be jealous of?" Steve said the last sentence quietly, looking down at the ground below the porch.

"Steve..."

"Hm?" Steve said without looking up. He had already gotten through his whole cigarette and Eddie was just about done with his when he said:

"You know how much Dustin talks about you? The kid sees all the good in you, which, to be fair, is most of you. You're funny, and smart, and you may not win fights, but you sure as hell give it your all." Steve looked up at him, eyes tearing up.

Steve bit his lip to try and keep himself from crying, but it was no use, the tears had already started streaming down his face. Eddie ashed his cigarette and hugged Steve, giving him a shoulder to cry on. They swayed ever so slightly, which was comforting to Steve, even though he felt bad about crying in front of someone, much less in front of Eddie.

Steve cried for a few minutes, and when he had gotten most of his tears out, Eddie leaned back and wiped the tears off of Steve's face, cradling his cheek. Steve rested his forehead on Eddie's and before he knew it, Steve was kissing Eddie Munson.

When the two walked back into Steve's house, instead of going back to their original seats (Eddie next to Dustin on one couch and Steve next to Robin on the other) Steve and Eddie squeezed next to Robin (who was next to Nancy YIPPEE) and cuddled. Robin scooted closer to Nancy to give the two more room on the couch (and to be closer to Nancy) and Mike sat where Eddie had been sitting, and Will scooting closer to the couch Mike was on, but still sitting on the floor. Lucas, El and Max were already halfway asleep, so they didn't really realize anyone had moved, and Erica couldn't have cared less, because she had her ice cream and that was all that mattered.

yknow, a lot of people say that they wish SJM had just invented a new character to be Rhys' love interest for the Acotar sequel or paired him off with Nesta or something, but I actually think she shouldve gone further and just made Feyre get with a different high lord every book. Just imagine:

ACOTAR 1: Feyre/Tamlin, Feyre recovers from her childhood trauma but then oopsie, UTM happens and now shes got a bunch of new trauma oh noooooo

ACOTAR 2: Feyre/Rhysand, Feyre recovers from her UTM and also learns about feminism and how to fight good, I would prefer if instead of ignoring the part Rhysand played in her trauma like in canon, they actually leaned into it and made it so that Feyre reconciling with Rhysand and even falling for him was somehow symbolic for her reconciling with her UTM trauma

ACOTAR 3: Feyre/Tarquin, Feyre learns how to politics and maybe she learns about the injustices that the common faeries have to deal with as well, maybe there couldve been some seeds planted for this in ACOTAR 2 with the illyrians but she was too busy wth her trauma to deal with it at that point, but now shes ready

ACOTAR 4: Feyre/Eris, Feyre helps Eris with his political machinations culminating with her helping him kill his dad and become high lord, and its kind of a foil to the previous book where Feyre was doing like normal politics with a good guy but now shes doing fucked up and evil politics with a morally gray guy. Also, i havent met Eris yet but I do know that hes racist in canon so maybe we could have a subplot where Feyre helps him with that idk. helps him get over his racism i mean, not helps him to be more racist

I dont know enough about the other guys yet to come up with potential plots for their books, but in my perfect world they would all definitely get one

The final book would be Feyre getting together with one of the super powerful non-court fae like one of those freaks who lives in the middle like the weaver or something, except it has to be one of the male freaks because its a SJM book and we cant have a queer MC. So I guess that limits our selection to Koschei maybe? I actually dont know anything about that guy other than he exists, is he hot? cuz if hes not hot then we can strike him out imo. Then theres that demon-god that sent Nesta a horny vision in ACOSF I think his name was Lanthys, and I know for a fact that hes conventionally attractive so thats our first candidate. I actually quite like the idea of Feyre getting with Suriel and the way that would work is that it would be this reoccurring character that appears atleast once in each book when Feyre needs some information and she goes to catch it, and at the start of this last book shes just broken up with her latest high lord and shes like "that suriel has helped me so many times, I should do something kind for it" so she does that and theres this very fairytale-esque moment where it turns out this is the first time someone showed it a genuine act of selfless kindness to the suriel, and that causes it to transform into a really hot guy. And then Feyre and the Suriel start their grand romance

Also, I just realized if we wanted to keep with the theme of Feyre falling in love with a powerful fae* from a specific court, the capital p Prison island is described as almost being like its own court, so maybe Feyre could get with the Bone Carver which would be great because he can transform into like, the hottest of hot guys if he wanted to

So yeah, thats my pitch for an alternate ACOTAR Series. Would it be good? No. Would it be fun? Yeah, I think so. Certainly more fun than the series we currently have where we mostly just hang out in the same boring city with the same annoying guys

i know capitalism is bad and life sucks, but posts on this site make jobs seem so cruel and soul sucking so here as some soft things about my dad's office (computer/it tech thingy)

My dad's bosses know me

I've been to their house before

I played with their dog on their trampoline and they gave us a bag of persimmons

He gives my dad advice about my school/education/career all the time

My dad's other boss got one of his worker's daughter an internship and frequently asked how it was going

The CEO of the company knows my dad and my entire family, he knows what we like and asks how we're doing

The CEO also let me draw a bunch of doodles in his room on the whiteboard

my dad doesnt CEO directly and isnt that close to the top (over 9 position/promotions away)

My dad and all his colleagues are curently in the proccess of fudging data and using the power of statistics to get the new hires a better wage

My dad buys this one girl a chocolate every time he sees her just because she likes it

My dad frequently checks in on all of the new grads that joined, esp the girls, because he says they remind him of me (not creepy, he checks in on the girls that have the same personality as me, he's obsessed with my mom, he doesnt even say a movie actor is cute/pretty cuz my mom is better. my mom doesnt have the same standards but he doesnt care)

many, many, many times, a random colleague will spend a few hours to learn a new topic and help explain it to someone they know is struggling with it. its not their job to do it and this knowledge doesnt help them. they just do it for each other

i can tell you so many more, they all care about each other tho and this isnt a dog eat dog world. yeah life sucks and his work is stressful but he isnt alone and hes happy with his job and work and you can be too :)) all hope is not lost okay?

how does your dyslexia affect your ability to read other fics and also write? do you have someone read over your things just to fix spelling mistakes? /genq

See I like to think my dyslexia doesnt affect me when it comes to reading or writing but thats because I am filled with copium and lies! cuz who would think the reading and writing disorder would affect reading and writing!

I commonly miss words in sentences or use the wrong one. Like the wrong your/youre/yours not because I dont know the difference but because where theyre so similar spelt that my brain doesnt like, notice im using the wrong ones until like either google docs or someone points it out to me or I read through the words really carefully to notice and go "fuck!"

I also miss things like capitals for nouns and stuff or names, mostly because lowercase is easier for me to notice if I have spelling mistakes so if I ever miss a capital letter im not lazy I literally didnt notice because my brain has fazed that word out of existence.

Another thing that i do while writing because of my dyslexia is what I call, "this isnt the word but it sounds like it!" like I think in my last hangmatt fanfic I missed out "knock" because fot the life of me I couldnt spell it and so annoyed by this my brain decided to add a different word that kinda looked like knock. I dont know why my brain does this but, it does. Another I do is miss out contractions so "He can do this" when I mean "he cant do this". I also guess the next word that I mean which often means my brain is a few words ahead of my fingers, words get jumbled up between the two and often I skip or change the sentence midway through

With reading. Reading on ao3 used to be rather hard considering that I struggle often with black text on white background/ black text on white background, the words would like blur easier and mix easier and I was trying to find a dark mode cover for ao3 and couldnt find one with a text like comic sans or something thats easier for dyslexic people to read and meeks @pinksuperkliq made me an ao3 cover thing which has made reading fanfics online so much easier because its green text on black background and the words are evenly spaced out!

I dont have anyone bar google docs to read through my works and notice that anything is amiss
