Nah the actually Odyssey is crazy cause Penelope, in tears, asks a bard to stop singing about her missing husband and Telemachus goes "stfu woman, talking is man's matter, go weave me a tapestry."

Originating as a viral TikTok sensation written, composed and recorded by Jorge Rivera-Herrans, ‘Epic’ retells Homer’s famous poem, ‘The Odyssey’. The concept album tells the story of Odysseus, taking us from the end of the Trojan war to (presumably) his return home. The album will consist of forty songs, split into nine sagas, of which two sagas have been released to date. The first five-song saga, ‘Epic: the Troy Saga’ was released on 25th December 2022, while the second four-song saga, ‘Epic: the Cyclops Saga’ was released on 27th January 2023. While there is no news yet on when the complete third saga will be released, excepts and progress can be found on Rivera-Herrans’ TikTok: @jorgeherrans.
Unlike Homer’s ‘The Odyssey,’ which begins with conversation between the gods, takes a detour to Ithaca and then finally catches up with Odysseus on the island of Calypso, ‘Epic’ follows a more linear path, beginning with the very end of the Trojan War with its opening number ‘The Horse and the Infant’.

I like to think that it was really hard for Telemachus to consider Odysseus as his father despite all of the years he's been titling him as one. It's easier to trust that someone gone will come back, than to actually believe and envelope the fact that they're here.

Penelope being the daughter of a water nymph makes me wonder if "get in the water" is something she used to tell Odysseus. Less playfully than the sirens would but still not wholly unfamiliar.

I relate to odysseus because i, too, take ten years to complete something that should be done in 8 months as well as weep every single night

This is 100% me most likely looking too deeply at things, but I want to talk about Penelope's shawls we've been seeing her with this season.
Shawls, when used in fiction, are often symbols of protection for their wearer. They are often wrapped around the body one way or another creating an extra layer for the wearer. With Penelope, we see them often wrapped around her arms and circling her back. We can also see it as a form of comfort for her as the shawl not only acts as a barrier of sorts but also wraps around her like a hug.
This also has me thinking back into greek mythology with Queen Penelope of Ithica. She, too, had a garment of cloth that served as her protection from the suitors for three years. That was the funeral shroud Queen Penelope was weaving for her father in-law after his passing, and Odysseus had still not yet returned home. Queen Penelope would work on the shroud during the day but at night would undo all her work so she could further delay giving her husband time to return home.
Both these items of cloths have served as protection for both Penelope's and I'm excited to see the moment Penelope's drops her shawl in front of Colin. That will be the moment she fully vulnerable with him.

Calypso : steel drum
Olympus : holy choir vocals and chanting
Apollo : lyre (obviously)
Hephestaus : clink clank clink clank
Aphrodite : choir, claps ?
Ares : violin? , snare drum (often used in war), also ticking clocks because he has the same ability to get into peoples thoughts like Athena, the ticking is significantly slower than Athena’s though so it probably has something to do with their strategy vs brute force tactics in war
Hera : FAMILY DISCO
Zeus : electric guitar

I'm wondering what the crew members who opened the bag felt like when poseidon drowned all those ships
Because they were on the same ship as odysseus and will likely join the mutiny
So I imagine that when they get away from poseidon they were just like "hahahaha wtf"
"Sorry captain we opened the bag that you clearly said held the storm inside and was dangerous"
