I absolutely LOVE the body horror and how it's not flattering or cute, like this isn't some cute little ears and tail shit, this is ACTUALLY GROSS and I love that,so many people refuse to actually make their "monstrous" characters unsettling in any significant way that might impact their attractiveness. Respect. Also, the idea it makes petting cats and furry critters harder is genuinely the most tragic side effect I've ever heard, that hit me way harder than so many other "was a lab rat" character's after-effects because holy shit, that would be the WORST for ME PERSONALLY. It may not seem like the most tragic awful thing compared to PTSD and pain and so on, but like, it's UNIQUE and it's incredible relatable in its mundane nature at the same time, and feels so much more sad and real than a bunch of OTT trauma stuff I can't actually relate to. Hope I expressed this well!!
Please tell me your favorite things about my portrayal/muse?
Thank you so much for the lovely response!!! I will admit I was floored by your words and couldn't help but stare at the inbox for the longest time pondering how to respond to such a thoughful message, because you touched upon something I didn't think many people would really pay attention such as Khare's issue with petting cats? It's such an everyday, mundane thing like you said so the fact you can relate how hard something like that would actually be despite it being one of the simplest joys most people wouldn't think twice about. Sure, there's the PTSD, the pain and trauma that comes with being an unwilling lab rat and growing all those very gross eyes and teeth which are not cute at ALL, so you finding that one very tragic aspect to her character is something I honestly smile about (in the worst possible way!) because for all the horrors that are part of her background, the everyday and mundane is something I wanted present too? At the end of an awful day, giving your beloved pet a hug is pretty much the only good thing about it and this poor bitch can't even have that because of her nasty, staticky little hands LMAO.
#sebastianshaw#memes ;; what's your favourite thing about my muse?#Seriously though bless you for this RF!#You touched upon some things I was a bit self-conscious about like was the cat headcanon too silly?#So you liking it and understanding the tragic aspect behind it is so reassuring like I can't even begin to describe it#In a series like DC almost everybody has deep heartbreaking backstories full of trauma and this is one of those little things that#really sucks for Khare even though it's something as simple as stroking a cat#Which she can't really do bc of her skin carrying a stronger electrical current#It's so random and not something people would consider tragic but you do! You understand!#I would die if I couldn't pet my dog or snuggle with her anymore and she can't understand why#Also YES I AM SO GLAD YOU MENTION HER GROSS BODY HORROR#It is definitely made to be as unappealing as possible like it shouldn't even be a thing it's so wrong#Eyes and teeth growing randomly in places they SHOULDN'T and overall just being unsettling/disturbing/ugly#Bless you for this again and cheering me up friend ;u;

"i'll be there for you" universe masterlist
pairing: bestfriend!roommate!steve harrington x fem!reader
word count: 3.2k words
warnings: explicit language, some mentions of alcohol, parent drama (both readerâs and steveâs parents suck)
summary: in which your parents and steveâs come over for dinnerÂ
author's note:Â this has absolutely nothing to do with the harry styles song but the title of it is just very fitting so yeah<33 iâve been rewatching a lot of gilmore girls this fall season so i feel like that's helped me get the hang of writing awkward/tense dinners with family lol so this needed to be done
general note: everything in this universe/series can be read as standalone oneshots but to understand the full âloreâ it would prob be best to read the other stuff too<333

Fall 1985
When your and Steveâs parents first suggested this âearly Thanksgiving dinner,â you thought that it wouldnât actually happen.Â
The initial idea sounded pretty funny to youâ your parents and Steveâs parents would have a full on dinner at your apartment a week before the actual holiday. Yeah, right.
It sounded like the kind of idea that parents that really cared about spending time with their children would have, and that wasnât how youâd necessarily describe yours or Steveâs.Â
A month ago, when they told you about the ski trip the four of them were going on during the entire week of Thanksgiving, you expected to just not see them probably until Christmasâ and that felt like a bit of relief to you because spending time with your parents wasnât your favorite hobby. Â
But then you remembered how, only during the holidays, your parents always had a need to show, or maybe more so âproveâ to themselves, that they actually cared about you. So, of course, they wouldnât let this stupid holiday go, and instead they thought that it would be best if you all did something early and together.Â
And sadly, none of the immediate excuses that you and Steve came up with worked because your moms had solutions for everything.
When you told yours that the kitchen in the apartment was too small to cook for this kind of elaborate dinner, she simply told you that theyâd buy and bring all of the food and you and Steve wouldnât have to cook at all. She also not-so-jokingly mentioned that she wouldâve never trusted either of you two cooking anyway.
And when Steve told his mom that the current dining table you two had was way too small to fit all six of you, she promptly had one ordered and delivered to your door in just a week. It was an expensive dark wood set that could comfortably fit six people, and you and Steve spent hours struggling to build it the day it showed up at your front door. It took up an obscene amount of space, but it did actually look kind of nice.
Now it was weeks later and the dreaded night was finally here, but you still tried to come up with any way to avoid it from happening.Â
âAnd weâre sure that we really canât get out of doing this tonight?â You asked Steve as you folded the blanket that was lying half-hazardly on the couch. âI could call my mom and say that weâve somehow fallen tragically ill in the last hour?â
âIâm ninety-five percent sure that theyâre all already on their way.â
âShit.â
âItâll be fine,â Steve said, and then he considered his words. âActually, it will probably suck, but overall, we will be fine.âÂ
You let out a sigh and placed the now folded blanket back on the couch and then started cleaning off the coffee table, stacking the random magazines in a neat pile and then adjusting Haroldâs cage so that it was nicely in the center. Your and Steveâs shared pet hamster was currently nibbling on the food that you had put in his bowl only moments ago.Â
An abrupt feeling of worry shot through you as you looked around the apartment. The place was cleanâ probably the cleanest it had ever beenâ since you and Steve had spent the day doing everything to avoid either of your parents saying anything bad about the place. However, in the grand scheme of things, you knew that it didnât matter because theyâd still hate the apartment. They would hate how you two decided to furnish and decorate it, and they would passive aggressively make fun of the place for however long this dinner would have to be.
âLetâs try not to think about how bad this night is gonna be and just be glad that weâre not gonna have to suffer alone, like usual,â Steve said, practically reading your mind and the look on your face, as he started setting plates out on the new table.Â
He was completely right. This was the first time that a collective Thanksgiving was happening among all of you. Usually, it was just you alone with your parents in Chicago visiting family members that you never talked to, and Steve was doing the same exact thing except he was in Indianapolis. Youâd always end up calling each other at the end of the night from the hotel or family house you were staying at, and youâd tell each other stories about whatever weird family members you encountered or how boring it all was.Â
It did make things feel a bit better that, for once, you didnât have to go through this alone and neither did Steve.
âYouâre right,â You said with a nod and then smiled. âWeâll be going through this shitshow together.â
As if on cue, there was a knock at the door and since Steve was closer he went to answer it. You took one brief and final look around the apartment before heading toward the door too, so Steve didnât have to be by himself in this greeting.
âHi,â He said when he opened the door and saw all of your parents standing there. There was a bright smile on his face and he effortlessly turned on that âSteve Harrington charmâ that people had adored in high schoolâ you hadnât even gone to the same high school as him, but you still heard so many of the stories.
A chorus of Hiâs and Helloâs were heard as your moms entered the apartment first since they were carrying all of the food and your dads followed in right behind them.
âI still hate that you moved into a place that doesnât have a front doorman, or, at least, a buzzer system,â Were your dadâs first words to you; deciding against saying the simple âHow are you?â that you had expected. âYou two should get a better lock on your door.â
You laughed a bit. âWe live in Hawkins, not New York, Dad. I donât think anyone is really itching to rob us anytime soon.âÂ
âAnything can happen,â He responded, looking at you seriously. âIâll bring you a new one when we get back from Colorado.â
You only nodded at his words instead of saying anything to rebut them; you knew that he overall meant well. âOkay.â
Your attention turned to your mom and she pulled you into a hug that felt way too forced before pulling away and giving you a quick onceover. âOh⊠Is that what youâre wearing?â
You thought that your outfit was fine; a V-neck navy blue knit sweater that was a bit cropped and a simple pair of black jeans. But, your mom always managed to find something wrong with everything, so this reaction to your current outfit didnât necessarily surprise you; it did still annoy you all the same, though.
âOh, um, no I was just about to change,â You told her and forced a small smile.
She nodded at that. âOkay, thatâs good, thatâs good. You go change while Christine and I get the table set up.â
You started heading toward your room but looked back at Steve first. He was in a conversation with his parents that looked like they were doing much more of the talking than him. As if sensing your gaze on him, his eyes met yours and he gave you a hopeful look and that was enough to make you feel a little better.
It didnât take long for you to change. You kept your sweater on but traded your jeans for the long black silk skirt that your mom had always liked on you. You hoped this slightly different outfit would be enough to satisfy her, and if not, you were willing to suffer through her inevitable look of disappointment.Â
You lingered in your room, tidying up your desk for no particular reason and then deciding to remake your bed. It was clear that you were stalling, avoiding having to face your parents again, and as much as you wanted to continue doing that, you also didnât want to leave Steve to fend for himself. You were supposed to be suffering together, after all.Â
You immediately noticed the dining table when you walked out of your bedroom. The food was now nicely set out and there were even brown placemats sitting underneath the plates that Steve had already set out. It was all set up in a way that wouldâve felt nice and wholesome if either of your families had ever remotely felt like the ones portrayed in most TV shows or movies. But, they werenât anywhere close to being like that, so this all just felt weirdly forced.
Of course, you didnât say that, though.
Instead, you sat down with everyone at the table and desperately hoped that the next few hours of your life would breeze by.Â
.ă»ă.ă»ăâă».ă»â«ă»ăă»ă. .ă»ă.ă»ăâă».ă»â«ă»ăă»ă.
âFrom the brochure, the pictures of the cabin look really great. We hope it actually looks that way in person,â Steveâs mom, Christine, said.Â
You took another bite of the mac and cheese on your plate as you continued to listen to your parents talk about their ski trip that was happening next week, which they had been doing for the last twenty minutes and you fully didnât mind it. Since the conversation wasnât centered on either you or Steve, things actually didnât feel tense or nervewracking. If you could just make your parents talk about themselves during the entire dinner, you would probably end the night with a smile on your face.Â
âOh, and there are a lot of bedrooms too,â Your mom chimed in before taking another sip from the wine glass in her hand. âMaybe you two could take a trip up there soon and invite your friends to go too.âÂ
âYeah, that would be nice,â You said with a small nod.
âEnough talking about the trip, though, thatâs probably so boring for your kids to hear about,â Your dad said, and you internally sighed because you knew the exact direction the conversation was about to go in. You felt him look at you. âHowâs school been going? The semester is almost over.â
âItâs been good,â You answered, keeping your response short and sweet. You decided not to mention that you really couldnât care less about the majority of your classes because none of what you were doing in any of them felt like it really mattered.Â
âOkay, and your grades and everything are fine, right?â
You only nodded in response to his question, hoping that your lack of actual words would signal to him that you wanted to bring an end to this topic of conversation. Of course, that was only wishful thinking.
âThatâs good,â Your mom said. âYou have to make sure your grades stay like how they were in high school, or even better, for when you transfer to the University of Chicago. We donât want to have any reason for them not to accept you again.âÂ
You suddenly felt like you were right back in middle school and high school, where your conversations with your parents solely revolved around school; what your grades were, if you were doing your homework and completing assignments on time, and studying for tests. It always annoyed you that the only times they would bother to pay attention to you was when it came to that stuff. Other than that, you were always seemingly an afterthought, never a bigger priority than their jobs.Â
In a way, this entire conversation shouldâve been expected; it was always inevitable. Pretty much anytime you talked to your parents in recent months, the discussion always seemed to circle its way back to that school and you going there in two years instead of right now, like they had wanted you to.
âIâm still so surprised that you decided to not go to the University of Chicago now,â Christine said and you turned your attention to her. It was starting to feel a bit painful to you that the subject still hadnât changed yet. âWhen Steve told me that you were going to go to the community college close by, I couldnât believe it, honestly.â
You noticed your parents share a look upon hearing her words. The mix of disappointment and annoyance toward you that was shared between them in that moment felt palpable.Â
âI didnât think it was time to leave Indiana just yet. Iâll be going soon, though,â You said, keeping your voice light and plastering on a fake smile, even though all you wanted to do in that moment was leave the table and hideout in your bathroom for the rest of the night.Â
You saw your dad smile a little and then you also noticed the look of relief wash over your momâs face. For some stupid reason, you still felt the need to make them feel pleased with you. And somehow that made you feel even more upset with yourself than anything they had said to you so far tonight.Â
The only thing that managed to make things feel remotely tolerable right then was Steve sitting across from you, giving you a look that said, âEverything will be okay.â For the time being, you chose to believe him and you simply took another bite of your food.Â
You were about to say something about how good the turkey was so your moms would start talking about the restaurant they got all of the food from and why they chose itâ you were sure that there was some story behind it allâ and that would finally bring an end to the college conversation. But, before a word could leave your mouth, Steveâs dad began speaking.Â
âWell, at least, youâre in college. We canât say the same for Steve here.â He then looked at his son. âDo you really want to work at a video store for the rest of your life?â
Christine let out a sigh. âJeff.â
âWhat?â He shrugged as if his previous question wasnât completely condescending. âIâm just asking a question.â
âIâm actually starting at the community college next semester,â Steve told his parents and you tried to hide your immediate confusion. âI found out I got in a few days ago.â
âWell, thatâs great,â Christine said happily, and Jeff smiled approvingly as well.Â
You had no idea Steve had gotten in or even applied, and you wondered if he was lying right then to just get his parents off his back, but you couldnât tell. Something about the way he said it honestly felt pretty real. The only part that didnât feel real was that you were finding out during this dumb dinner instead of at any other time.Â
âSo, I was wondering,â Your mom began and you braced yourself for the impact of whatever she was going to say. âWhy did you two decide to get a hamster? I feel like it makes things smell a bit funny in hereâŠâ
A part of you was glad that the conversation finally shifted away from college. But you didnât think that the passive aggressive comments toward the apartment would begin with Harold.Â
.ă»ă.ă»ăâă».ă»â«ă»ăă»ă. .ă»ă.ă»ăâă».ă»â«ă»ăă»ă.
âWell, this night was fucking brutal.â
You let out a sigh. âYou took the words right out of my mouth.â
Steve was doing the dishes as you put what was left of the food into tupperwares and then put them in the fridge. Surprisingly, it was a lot of stuff leftover; your moms definitely went overboard with the amount they had ordered. You and Steve already made plans to invite Robin and Eddie over tomorrow to have some of these leftovers.
âIâm actually glad that the dessert tasted bad since it made them want to leave early.â
âIt was honestly a bit bittersweet because I was kind of excited for that pie,â You said as you placed the final tupperware of food into the fridge and then went over to Steve. âOh, and also,â You punched his arm and ignored his immediate âouch.â âWhy the hell didnât you tell me that the stars have finally managed to align and weâll finally be going to the same school for the first time ever?â
He smiled a little at your dramatics. âI didnât wanna make a big deal out of it just in case I somehow didnât end up getting in. I swear I was gonna tell you tomorrow.â
âSo, you did all of that annoying application stuff by yourself?â
âRobin helped me with it.â
âI wouldâve been happy to help you,â You told him, and maybe you were being a bit overdramatic, but you actually felt slightly offended that he hadnât wanted to come to you about this.Â
The possibility of you two going to the same middle or high school was a far out idea that never happened because you lived in different towns. But, it was still something that was adamantly and wistfully talked about by you and him; how much more fun both of your school lives could be if they intersected in that way like the other parts of your lives did.Â
Of course, going to the same college wouldâve been the most obvious way for it to finally happen, but Steve never seemed that interested in going to college, and up until the last possible second you were being pushed toward Chicago by your parents.Â
But now things were finally different.
âI know that you wouldâve, but I didnât want to talk about it to anyone, honestly. Robin saw me working on the application one day and decided to help,â He explained and you only gave him a small nod in response. âI didnât even think Iâd tell my parents about it, but when I heard my dadâs dumb comment about Family Video I felt like I had to say it so he wouldnât keep looking at me like a disappointment.â He sighed. âAnd itâs kinda fucked up⊠I really donât wanna care what my parents think about me and what Iâm doing with my life, but I think there will always be a part of me that does.â
You thought back to your dadâs approving smile and your momâs relieved look when you reassured them that you still planned to go to the University of Chicago; how much you still wanted to make them feel at least a little proud of you even though you knew you shouldnât.
âMe too,â You said softly.Â
âIâm glad we probably wonât have to see them again until Christmas.â
You sighed. âApparently, my dad is gonna bring us a new lock for the door when they get back from their trip.â
âOh,â Steve said and then smiled at you when it looked like he thought of something. âOkay, what are the odds that heâll just send someone to put the new lock on the door instead of coming himself?â
You thought about it for a second. âHonestly, Iâd say thereâs a pretty good chance that would happen. Heâll probably be too busy with work after the trip to actually come and do it himself.â
âOkay, letâs hope for that,â He said as he finished washing the last plate and placed it on the drying rack. âSo, since the dessert was a bust tonight, do you wanna go to the diner? Iâm sure Mary would never fuck up her apple pie. And then when we get back, we can finish that bottle of wine that our moms left.â
You smiled at his suggestion. âYou have a brilliant mind, Harrington.â

Head empty no thoughts just daydreaming about incel scara with groupmate/project member!reader
Imagine them sitting together in a library. They need to be close to share one screen and go over everything while one or the other does some explaining. And scara is just DISGUSTED by her very clearly, very obviously whorish behavior aka her casually jutting her chest, pouting/biting her lips, getting close to him when she needs to lean, when she bends over away from or next to him, he can see her cleavage if he tries hard enough, or see her skirt ride or her lower back getting exposed and if he moves juuuuust a bit closer he can touch her boobs-
Just outright disgraceful and shameless behavior typical of the female đ€ and no, that's not his boner wdym. And reader is just earnestly trying to understand what he's trying to say because he seems so indifferent and almost looks as if dislikes her.
Ahhh it must be because he's annoyed, this isn't her subject after all. In which case, ALTERNATIVELY- consider CS major scara with darling in some non-STEM field passively calling her dumb and insulting her intelligence whenever they come to "study" because: what? She doesn't know how to install Windows? Ha
Only reason she has a decent gpa is because you don't actually need brains or talent for those art "subjects" and they are more suited to females anyway because it's not like they contribute much to society or are very intelligent, unlike him-
I remember my university had these little rooms in their library that were basically tiny study rooms with a couch and chairs, but like no windows, and were advertised as two-way soundproof to help you study and let me tell you. Yâall. People had sex in those. A lot. It happened a lot.
But the thing is they had no tables with desk-type chairs, only like coffee tables and lounge chairs, so if you wanted to work with someone else on something you kinda had to use the sofa which could be very awkward. Anyway
Oh he's absolutely a STEM snob that looks down on humanities majors. Theyâre for people with no real skills, who lack the ability to do more important stuff⊠or God forbid, you're a fine arts major of some kind. Very typical girl stuff, they waste money on useless degrees because they insist on having equally useless jobs. Youâre probably going to be a future HR person, getting random guys fired for harmless comments and such.
So he always talks to you in such a condescending way, as if the things heâs explaining are so very obvious or simple that itâs a chore to explain it to you. You need to be aware of how intellectually inferior you are.
Also heâs one of those boys for whom âdisgustedâ is really just turned on, he lacks the ability to distinguish it â like itâs arousing, but itâs irritating that itâs arousing because he canât do anything about it, so he identifies that feeling as disgust when itâs really just unbearable levels of sexual frustration compounded with bitterness. Ugh.
And as for you, it has to be intentional. You know what you're doing. It's on purpose. You just think it's funny or amusing to torment someone who can't do anything about it. In a fair world, you'd pay for your actions somehow.
And maybe you're even getting good grades in exchange for "favors." That makes sense, it's the only way that explains how you remain enrolled really. Maybe you'll eventually do the same for him, try to get him to do work for you in exchange for something. Not that that would work, he would never ever enable you like that, and definitely has the self-control necessary to reject you.
Thereâs something so wrong with how things are, that this situation can even arise, that youâre allowed to waste so much money and time on your dumb degree when you have better uses. Heâll probably go home and make some long vent post to some niche corner of the internet about the woes of having to tolerate this situation. Tragic.
#advocating for government assigned girlfriends on imageboards is a time consuming hobby...#'we used to be a just society' type mf#truly pathetic little creature đ#.modern

Envy shippers are forgetting something, and thats kinda of connected to misogyny.
..........
Just warning before i start that i will be talking negativily about N a litte bit in this post, even If a love him very much, Its necessary lollll.
Also Please dont think this post is some form of hate against V or envy. Its a post about the way >some< NxV shippers treat Uzi and their double standards.
........
So, i saw that *one* group of people making jokes about Uzi dying/N killing Uzi so N can be with V again and after some time thinking i realized that those jokes are kinda of connected to how they think that "Uzi stole N from V" or "V deserves N more than Uzi does"
And thats make me think: why, them, as an envy shippers, chooses to throw their hatred at Uzi especifically? Why is the Idea of Uzi, the young girl who did >>nothing<<< to deserve what shes going through, dying so satisfing to them? Even If Its a "joke"?
And i guess i know the answer, they think V deserves N more, they are the one that deserve to be end-game, because they have a tragic love story, they had a spark and becuse they have known each other for way longer and all that stuff, right?
But I guess, them, yes, the one who love V and N as a duo and as a couple, are forgeting something important in this equation: N himself
If they want to blame someone for envy not working in the present time that much, N is the one they should be hating on (and V too tbh) not Uzi, Uzi is just having feelings.
N is the one that choosed to prioritize and protect a random purple worker girl he just met.
N is the one that choosed to change sides and fight against his own damn crush to protect the people of a random worker girl he just met.
he is the one that choosed to stop to act on his crush on V once he met Uzi, the random worker girl. (Srs, not even a single sigh of it since episode 2)
He is the one that choosed to keep holding Uzi's hand (and embrance It harder, when she was the one to ask him to let It go) while blushing at her on that hallway in front of everyone.
He is the one that randomly got her to have a dance with him in that prom fight.
He is the one that felt extremely bad of the Idea of Uzi being scared of him, yes, the random worker he just met.
He was the one to get angry at V for not respecting Uzi and say to her face "what is wrong with you?"
He is the one that ins't afraid to be all cozy with her in public (cabin fever is here as proof)
He was the one that, even after reexperiencing the thing he had with V in the past again, was happy to see Uzi instead of being nervous about it, when even V was embarassed.
Uzi never did anything, thats just a Uzi they created in their minds. wich ins't that surprising since they all dont even like to rewatch most of the show anyways (N and Uzi's interactions are too much for them to handle)
The worst thing she has done was being agressive to V, but mind you, thats bc V was treating her way worse when Uzi even considered her a friend.
>>N<< was the one that, accidently or not, made most of (If not all) his romantic moments with Uzi real.
But they wont talk about his position in this triangle right? Its just Uzi, Uzi this, Uzi that, Uzi is always the villian here.
Because N is the perfect boy who ins't capable of understanding love outside of his thing with V, right?
""N would never feel something like that for Uzi!!! Hes clearly being peer pressured by her!!""
"""the writing is sooo badddd!!! N would never do this ugggfhh""
""weirdo vickers, fix you damn show""
And..... you know what that sorta looks like...right? Yes, misogyny . Because they choose to hate on and make weird jokes about Uzi, the woman, when N, the man, had a bigger role with his romantic thing with Uzi than she did. And If they hate nxuzi so much, they should be hating on N too, but i know they wont.
For the people who hate to see N "being babied" they sure dont like to talk much about him in these things

Honestly TCF/LCF is great. I'm rereading it from the beginning, I've never actually finished it, but honestly the amount of times Cale just wanders off for hours, last seen in the slums or a random tea shop and just comes home with a Choi Han or two children from the Cat Tribe and just no one questions it. The only one who does is Hans but even then it's just wanting to care for the kittens. That I understand, he had no way of knowing they're cat tribe but Ron knows from the second he sees them and just doesn't question how, why, where and when he met these cat tribe children . And it's similar for choi han. We know he saw him coming in the gate and Deruth and Hans got the tragic backstory, but none of them questioned why exactly he was in the residential area near the gate to stumble across him in the first place. Also for a second I forgot Cale was 18 and just imagined Beacrox seeing Cale going in the slums and shortly after reappearing with cat tribe children and just thinking Cale had like had children with a cat tribe person, especially since Hong has red hair. I forget how old Hong actually is at the beginning so that didn't help matters. The way he just picks up strays. Like he randomly decides to smuggle Taylor and Cage into the capital, which I imagine is a crime, but literally no one with him questions this decision and tries to say hey maybe don't do this illegal thing. And again I get Ron and Beacrox not reacting, ones an assassin and the other is a torture expert. But the fact that Hilsman, Hans and anyone else with them is just on board with this plan? Like don't disagree with it, don't question it, just go along with it? I get that Cales their young master but everyone just immediately goes along with his plans no matter how insane they are and only really have a problem when Cales plan includes I do something that results in me getting hurt or passing out, which, to be fair, in the first hundred chapters, usually isn't actually part of the plan, it just kind of happens. Meanwhile Cale is just in denial, acting like the sane one. Let me tell you, when people you consider insane are all surrounding you and following plans, chances are you're not as sane or normal as you think.
Also if you for whatever reason have a problem with me using Beacrox instead of Vicross or calling it Trash of the Counts family instead of lout of the counts family. That was the first translation I've seen. This also means I may call Rain City Western City because that's what it says in the translation I'm reading. I don't think it's a big deal but I saw a tweet complaining about it and particularly calling it Trash of the counts family instead of lout of the counts family, which confused me because I knew it as that first and so, when I was reading fanfiction and saw the name Vicross Molran I was like who? I can't have met them yet. I've since learned this is Beacrox Molan, and Beacrox is what I call him. I won't apologise it because that would be dumb but I want it to be noted that this is all purely die to the translation I'm reading

saiki k headcannons (very very long post)
-kurumi + kuusuke have weird unnaturally sharp teeth that are lowkey scary if you look at them for too long. kusuo also has it but he hides it.
-if you think at kusuo, he can hear you no matter where you are. the psychickers (+ his family) know this and use it against him.
-kusuo is an unwilling empathy crier. if someone starts crying near him, he will at least start to tear up. he finds it an extreme inconvenience and does everything he can to hide it. this only really happens with people in his direct vicinity though, so no movie characters or random people in his telepathy radius.
-too many characters have similarly colored eyes, so hereâs a lightning round with some eye color changes
akechi: periwinkle. it just makes sense to me ok?? a silly color for a silly goober. it grows on me more the more i think about it.
aren: dark magenta with a hint of red. i think it represents his personality better
toritsuka: dark grey. i like it and have no explanation for it. honorable mention goes to pink because it makes him match with saiki
also aiura has neon yellow eyes not green they are not green her eyes are not gre
-kusuo gets a pretty normal amount of sleep all things considered, in fact he probably gets maybe an hour or so more than average most nights because he just loves sleeping so much. kuusuke does not even go out of his way to get a bed for himself because the only sleep he gets is when he forgets to take his bi-hourly injection of whatever heâs using in place of caffeine and passes out on top of whatever heâs working on for â3 minutes before jolting himself awake and going back to work. if he really has to nap for whatever reason he claims the floor is plenty comfortable.
-kusuo has sedatephobia (fear of silence). while the peaceful tranquility of putting peopleâs thoughts on mute with the ring is nice, if he were to somehow be put into a situation with no noise at all or even just very little noise I think heâd be pretty freaked. heâs never had a truly quiet moment before, so itâs only a natural reaction to be uncomfortable with it. he would avidly deny it if asked though, even if he gets visibly anxious from it.
-kuusuke has never used bugs against kusuo directly because he thinks phobias are a cheap and uncreative tactic. the birthday card thing doesnât count because that was only psychometry images.
-itâs not really a psychic power but all of the pk psychics have extremely strong intuitions. like they just Know things sometimes. this is basically canon for at least kusuo but that besides the point. the jury is still out on whether akechi also has the psixth sense or if heâs just weird but he is definitely on the same page as everyone else most of the time because of his near psychic analysis of his situation and surroundings
-kusuo can use transform on other people but it never comes up bc why would he do that when hypnosis is so much easier? something something genderbend episode
-kusuo had a very bad no good week like right before he got his limiters where his hair became uncuttable and he was forced to have a mullet until it culminated in kusuo willing himself into developing heat vision and cutting his hair with it to mixed results.
-each of the saikiâs think theyâre the more normal one balancing out the rest of the familyâs weirdness but no. all of you are weird there is no balance
-more of an opinion than a headcanon, but being average/ânormalâ was never really what saiki wanted. what heâs actually after is peace, and he just happens to associate those things with it. thatâs why he changed the world to perceive his unusual attributes as normal when he was younger instead of changing himself to appear normal, what he truly wants is a world that he can be himself in and be at peace at the same time. the reason he refuses to admit this, even to himself, is because of his own lack of self-acceptance. you guys donât understand heâs such an angsty and tragic character actually ! a poor little meow meow even ! listen to me !!
-kusuo and kuusuke NEED to have a âletâs take ibuprofen togetherâ moment i will not be explaining further
-kuusuke works above board a lot, but he is definitely doing some âunder the tableâ stuff when it comes to selling the shit he makes because he just does not care and wants money to fund his games. he is confident he will never get caught and even if heâs wrong kusuo is reversing that shit to avoid the trouble it would cause him.
-kuusuke does love robotics (specifically with making weapons but he does indulge in the gadget or two), and that is definitely his favorite to do stuff with and the thing he is most passionate about, but donât be fooled, he does everything. any science under the sun and he is probably an expert on it. special mentions of things he knows a lot a lot about go to neuroscience, physics, biology, first aid/general medicine, pharmacology (technically canon because of that muscle relaxent from the cattank arc) and anything that you could realistically make a psi pun with.
-sometimes kuusuke randomly decides that a random ass guy is the person of the week he wants to piss off (to him itâs like being annoying to an animal, very amusing ^^). positive things about this: itâs normal a really bad person he decides to be a menace to like a rich guy or a corrupt politician. bad things about this: he has had to deal with hired hits on him before
-aiura can get a very accurate read on someoneâs personality near instantly and has an encyclopedic knowledge on everyone. she knows your birthday and she knows what you want. teruhashi too but not because sheâs psychic sheâs just also weird.
-aiura has a very bad sleep schedule because she gets woken up in the middle of the night by visions of disaster. this is NOT THE SAME as kusuoâs visions !! kusuo is tormented in his sleep, she is kept awake. aiura also sometimes has visions of shit right before it happens and if itâs a bad thing she has to think quick on her feet to stop it.
-aiura does not stop helping people she just gets a little bit better at being discreet. eventually she goes freelance and owns her own shop for occult stuff good for her
ok thatâs all i got for now. tune in whenever i decide to do this again for more bangers
#this is almost organized#not really#please ask about any of these if you are interested i can talk for soo long bbg you have no idea#saiki k#uhh#im not tagging everyone i mentioned#saiki kusuo#saiki kuusuke#saiki kusuke#the rest of the saikis#aiura mikoto#character headcanons#headcannons#how the fuck do you spell that word#both ways of spelling it do not look right

I know I don't need to be adding to this dog pile but there's something sooooo tragically embarrassing about watching C*rr and MH call other women ugly in the way that is 1 part "oh I am so fucking sad for you that your existence is predicated on male validation" and 1 part "you will never be as famous as you want to be and you'll never stop complaining about it instead of doing something worth fame with the resources you have"
tbf since i'm some random on tumblr i don't rly consider it a dog pile. if i was on twt it might be diff but also tbh probably no one on twt would agree with me lol. but also yes i agree. severe haterade under the cut beware etc
i honestly have no idea what was being said to carr and meredith; i know it was something along the lines of how they shouldn't have been at wwwy, but i didn't actually see any of the comments in question so i have no idea if it was light criticism or if misogynistic abuse was being slung their way. it sounds like it was probably closer to the latter but also i've seen meredith freak out on a fan before wrt genuine criticism directed at carr, so i don't think it's unreasonable to wonder if maybe they were in part overreacting to people asking 'why is carr at wwwy?' which i think is a valid question to pose, since she was essentially added to the lineup as a band aid to fix the issue of wwwy featuring very few female lead or majority female acts. i really don't understand why acts that were formed in the last five years are playing a festival based around nostalgia. now that being said i think lobbing criticism at carr and DG is unwarranted and uncalled for, especially if the same energy isn't being brought for other new acts that were also playing the fest or have played it in the past, such as ls dunes and waterparks
ANYWAY, regardless of whatever was said, yeah i think clapping back with 'well you're ugly and your husband wants to fuck me' is incredibly degrading and dehumanizing and it makes me sad for her that she thinks it's appropriate and necessary to respond to criticism/hate by making the conversation about her looks and how she's perceived by men. i don't know if this is her trying to play into her over sexualized schtick here or if she's being genuine but either way it's deeply depressing and embarrassing behavior. especially since i feel like probably at least some of this hate came from men as well?
i won't say too much about meredith because i don't want to be mean but i do think that it is because of andy that she has had most if not all of the opportunities afforded to her and if my presence in a band was even partly due to the influence of my grey haired grandpa ass lookin husband when i had prior to wwwyf only performed on stage 7 times, i would not be going around calling other women ugly
and if someone wants to dispute that claim then i am very willing to hear it, but considering that andy and meredith met when he was 36 and she was 22 and he was already well established in the industry, i don't know what else i'm supposed to infer here

Yallo!
A bit random, but do you ever think about how potentially tragic of a character Byleth is, and how it's all dependent on if they get to forge bonds and a new path in life as a professor as we can see from both games?
They get to stray away from the mercenary lifestyle, albeit it was forced at first, and the label that was forcibly placed on them(Ashen Demon) that caused them to be negatively perceived for most of their life. Nobody besides Jeralt, their father, bothered to understand them, because their lack of emoting well would just scare people and make them think they're some emotionless husk. No friends, no support system, just the sword and Jeralt.
Like it's really telling how their first dialogue option in 3Houses is "I'm a demon" factored in with Byleth being surprised in Hopes that people weren't treating them as less when recruited.
Honestly I'd argue Byleth is rather complex in a behavioral sense.
Ah, sorry for the little ramble. As you can see, I am obsessed with this autist.
OOh hello! Not random at all. And if it's random you're coming to the right place because I love randomness đ Thinking about Byleth makes me SOOOOOOOFFFFFTTTTTTT đ ngl, they have become one of my favorite characters in the process of trying to figure out their character throughout the several gameplays. And Hopes made it a punch in the guts đ but also give us voiced Byleth YAY. Yes, I think about the potential tragic of their character, their past and specially in Hopes that wrecks my heart and makes me cry like a baby in some random dark corner of my room. That notion of their first dialogue with Shez when recruited about everyone in the camp being nice breaks my heart a bit because it implies that even when working for the opposite faction you choose, they didn't get to interact any of the other characters we know. Not Jeralth fault by actively isolating them since he tells them to "try to fit in" when finally joining our ranks and yet, if they're with the "enemy", their mercenary group is still isolated from the main army and don't get to interact much. And if they do, is just the random average soldier who gets freaked out by their unnerving-ness as it's been implied. Byleth haven't grown and developed like they did in houses, so they still struggle.
You're so right about their complexity of their behavior. In my way to discover the Byleth, I found myself relating to them A LOT. But also had to be careful to not "project" too much into them. I like to look at the game's options and considering part of something Byleth would say either way (because there's really not many options to pick, most of them go around the same), character reactions to them, hopes, and also heroes' dialogues. I think Byleth is a beautiful character that deserve more credit and more focus It'd be great for the Autism representation and bring hope to the autists out here lol
#ask#fire emblem#byleth eisner#my little autistic mew mew#fe3h#few3hopes#But there's more than just autism to their character tho I must add âïž#the autism topic is complicated in its own

My Live Blog of The Apothecary Diaries Light Novels Volume 1 Chapter 3: Jinshi
I'm procrastinating packing for my trip that happens in 6ish hours, so I might as well read another chapter of The Apothecary Diaries!
No points for guessing the central character of this chapter. Lol
I do like that the LN has chapters from different perspectives. I love having Maomao as a guide, don't get me wrong, I just also like seeing different perspectives and thought processes.
How many times a day does this poor man have to break up cat fights? If the ladies-in-waiting at Lady Lihua's palace are any indication, it's probably a lot.
On another note, something I haven't really thought of much is that the way that Jinshi and Maomao refer to the consorts as "flowers" or "blossoms" is kind of dehumanizing. I don't think either of them are trying to be rude or anything, I just think they're trying to distance themselves emotionally from the consorts so they can think more rationally about each situation.
I just went ahead and used different colors to differentiate my points rather than trying to take multiple screenshots of one specific paragraph.
Yellow: I know this isn't at all what it meant, but I have a weird imagination, so I pictured Jinshi trying to walk through a pile of lovestruck women while looking absolutely disturbed. I kind of wish that was fanart that existed.
Green: So it really was that Maomao didn't swoon at the sight of him and not her comment about writing. Poor dude really is flabbergasted by her immunity to him.
Red: But it isn't the end. Instead, you will become absolutely smitten with that girl and trip over yourself, trying to get her attention.
I don't know, I think Lady Gyokuyou is probably fine considering how much the Emperor favors her. One woman's sick leave probably didn't hurt her financially and would only up her kind reputation.
I don't blame either one. It's all on the makeup people for not mentioning the fact that it's poison and the people who were managing the harem while Luomen was there for not keeping his warnings about the stuff.
Lead poisoning is awful. Among a bunch of other terrible things, it can cause headaches and general irritability. That as well as the paranoia that comes from being a consort with the eldest/only son, having your child dying in front of you, and having maids who don't believe it's poison until sense is literally slapped into one of them, you can really see how she made that mistake, and it makes the loss of her son all the more tragic.
I really like Lady Lihua because she has all the set up of a general mean girl who will be an opponent for the rest of the series, but turns out to be a genuinely wonderful person who was just in a terrible situation. (Spoilers) I'm really glad she ends up able to have another son later in the series. (Spoilers end)
I appreciate that not only that Maomao tried to make her handwriting look bad to throw people off, but also that Jinshi can apparently tell that she purposefully wrote poorly and that she's a girl. I do kind of understand the gender thing since I've noticed different tendencies between the handwriting of different genders, but I'm going to really question his ability to tell whether the writer is purposefully writing badly or just has bad handwriting. Especially since it earlier said the message was written using grass stains. I can't imagine that being easy.
Great memory for something innocuous that happened almost a month ago. I guess her not stopping to admire his hotness really stuck with him. I mean, Jinshi's had to come across someone so lost in their thoughts that they walked by without noticing him, right? I mean, I sometimes walk around with zero awareness of what's around me. I also appreciate his immediate glee at his lead and the random insult to the people watching the fight between Lady Gyokuyou and Lady Lihua. I kind of love the random, offhand insults that Maomao and Jinshi have in their thoughts.
Does he just have an encyclopedia of different cloths he's felt? And if he so distinctly remembers her and what she said, wouldn't he remember her outfit? Unless the maids that have different jobs have outfits that look similar but don't use the same material. Does any of this actually matter? No, but my brain got stuck on it, and you chose to read it.
I love that Jinshi hasn't spoken a word to Maomao, but he's already delighted by her and the mystery that she's accidentally given him. He's also 100% using Lady Gyokuyou's gratitude as an excuse to satiate his curiosity and boredom with work.
I'm so glad I managed to fit all the quotes I wanted to share in one post, I would've been annoyed if I had to make another post for just one or two quotes. Anyways, thank you for reading once again, and I hope to see you when I cover the next chapter, "The Nymph's Smile."

the way i see it, Camu and Roland are both Plural (Roland speaking to what he considers his "past selves", Kamui being some sort of alter), so they both kind of understand eachother on that level too. Like, 'oh, you've also got people in your head, alright i get you'. It's important that Camu cannot live outside of Kamui's frame/brain for particularly long - probably because on some level they're the same person and whatever mechanism lets them physically split their M.I.N.D isn't perfect. and also that they're little balls of spite that slowly soften yes :)
Yes! You get me 0)-( Although lore-wise, we never get a hint as to why and how Roland knew about Camu's story anyway, that's why I just had the random thought of "woa the virus in Kamui manifest the shape of Camu, that's how he knew" which is such a delusion lmaoo Someone on twitter have discussed about Camu and Kamui's arc specifically and how PGR's CBT with the start of Camu/Kamui arc compare to the changes we then get in the debut of the game resulting to the lack of context we got.
And due to my weak understand of the way of the constructs, some of the details confuses me. Basically, they concluded that Camu and Kamui makes no sense, in theory they are supposed to be two seperate people (I can only assume that kuro intended Camu and Kamui to be something like a stereotypical evil twin trope, but instead turned into a dark alter persona.) Even if that's the case, how does Roland knew about Camu? Unless he knew Camu personally, which has never happened (correct me if I'm wrong, the first few chapters are not pleasant to dissect.)
All my ramble aside, I do think that if Roland does understand Camu to a certain level, he would very much understand as to why they wanted to live as a "different person." The peole around them fabricating their views and livelihood with lies, keep them both like animals in a cage (both symbolically and literally) and torment them physically and mentally for very selfish reasons. People often make fun of how Camu loves food, but is that like one of the very basic human requirement? To want to eat? And when your fed specific things as some sort of experiment project, of course you would be curious what safe and delicious food is like. Roland just straight up has an eating disorder. And by the time they are very close to meet with freedom, death was knocking at their doors, at that current state they're very passive to fate and had no choice but to accept their own end. They are both very much victims here, and discardable ones (literally the squad in Camu's interludes are just one of many, if they die Kurono wouldn't mind replacing with a new squad. Roland's first few accessable secret just straight up tells you that he's just a normal civilians, a straight up nobody; like any creature being put in a circus show could become a star, doesn't matter which one.) They both wanted to leave and live a peaceful happy life, to be freed, but they are both too far gone. They both wanted to escape their current states but will never be able to, so they adopted personas as their way of "moving on" as they continue to exist and just so they can keep existing is pretty tragic, because they both never had true freedom. Someone will probably tell me such as "they are not the only characters in PGR with this kind of backstory" to which I agree, but that's besides the point. The point is that the similarity in the context behind their true characters. It's a lot deeper, from what I think, it's a "I get where you come from, it's very personal but I know what that felt like." (And then kuro fumbled with the writing, ruining their possible compatibilities forever, missing the biggest opportunity to make them allies, they don't have to agree to each other on most things but I do think they have a chance. And I'm glad that others can see it too :) thank you for this ask)
Delulu-wise however, they're very soft characters with stiff exteriors, really made them wonder how easy it is for them to turn soft towards each other if given the chance (*â§èžâŠ)

1. Congrats on the kinda blown up post!
2. This is a really weird, kinda stupid ask, but out of the Umineko characters u know, who seems like theyâd be the most fun to play in a ttrpg? I ask because I know multiple people have done this one character and, for spoilery reasons, I have no clue how.
1: thank you i guess! feels weird to have a post gain traction among people beyond my usual follower circle lmao
2: now the first thing you need to know is that i don't do ttrpgs or understand anything about them in any meaningful way so this is very hard to consider. i do think the dice rolling factor of certain tabletops plays nicely with the whole "demon's roulette" angle of umineko except for the part where umineko only pretends like it's a series of random chance events and not a thoroughly premeditated script but maybe chance vs control could thematically translate into a good ttrpg character basis maybe? i guess the hard thing with umineko is that everything including its characters was not designed for a rng roll one outcome of millions scenario but instead deliberate consideration and understanding - idk much about ttrpgs but i feel like needing to take a 3000 word break to painstakingly sketch out a deeply biased account of a character's tragic backstory in order to explain the relevance of the morally questionable action they have just taken (the explaining of which being as plot-critical as the actions themselves) isn't the most friendly thing you could mix in with a ttrpg formula.
as character archetypes i think a great deal of umineko characters ire fun and engaging to explore on their own terms, but ttrpgs often have a growth/power fantasy element baked into them that isn't entirely congruent with the grounding theses of most of the cast. natsuhi is deeply fascinating as an individual but "powerless woman who is snared in the twin nets of pride and desperation and whose only agency is whether or not she can uphold a conspiracy to people who can leverage all kinds of abuse towards her" doesn't really work in any kind of rpg sense. if natsuhi were to get "stronger" and "advance" this would lay ruin to the underpinning tragic essence of what makes natsuhi *natsuhi*. same goes even for characters like battler who you'd think would click more with this formula - even a hypothetical mystery-solving based ttrpg could not accommodate battler as the inherent gamification of the narrative necessitates truths and evidence being revealed on a diegetic level in such a way that battler could actually figure out, and at that point what we're talking about is basically danganronpa instead of umineko.
i think in this way despite being a vn and thus a form of video game so much of umineko is heavily resistant to being "played" in the traditional game sense. there is a game going on in umineko between writer and reader, but this is a game of thinking and interpretation and understanding and not something that can be broken down into quantifiable Progression Units. the only "final boss" of umineko is your own lack of understanding and this fight is waged in your own head and not within the fabric of the story - even if in umineko proper battler "figures out" the mystery, it won't end up in a climactic final fantasy-esque showdown with beatrice on rokkenjima. gamification is kind of like "fantasy" within a narrative context (this is something i have/will talk about more in the writeup so forgive me if this isn't clearly defined yet) in that it's an embellished obfuscation of truth in the Romantic sense where you get lost in the process rather than the results - in theory, battler cornering beatrice during the denouement and saying definitively "this is the truth behind everything" is as a decisive an action as battler using the power of anime and friendship to energy blast beatrice into ash. the difference is the former keeps the mystery and tragedy front and center, while the latter out of necessity makes it specifically about battler as the center of the narrative universe.
this goes into the territory of mystery fiction and whether or not the designated Detective (capitalized in the stock archetype way and not the literary analysis dichotomy way) character must also occupy the traditional role of protagonist in the Hero sense. battler is the central character in umineko and the most crucial information is filtered through his lens, but battler is not the Hero of umineko - he is a passive witness to the tragedy who can only grow more desperate and powerless as the atrocities continue to pile up. the troubling thing about a lot of mystery is how you make a Detective that isn't basically just a cop - there is a certain power tension in mystery where through uncovering the truth the Detective takes the obfuscating "power" held by the Culprit and redirects into a clarifying force of their own. a denouement is when the Detective has, after a sort of hero's journey, acquired enough truth/power to unmask/dominate the Culprit, and as a "reward" is able to use the power structures of society (police, carceral punishment, "Just" murder) to get their way (return to a status quo) where the Culprit was previously able to use the power structures of mystery narratives (tricks, unreliable perspective, misdirection, "Unjust" murder) in order to get theirs (subversion of the status quo in accordance with their motive). all of this very easily feeds into copaganda-esque regurgitations of power dynamics and grows more prominent the more physical agency a Detective-Hero has in their given narrative situation.
bring those elements to a gamified stage and what you're left with is more a simulation of dominion through your character's power biases than a nuanced understanding of the social conditions that led to the formation of these events in the first place. you could of course perform a complete dissection of the Events and Circumstances of a ttrpg's setting, but is producing a diatribe on social structures and reinforcement of power akin to "playing"? i think maybe an umineko character might work in an undertale/deltarune-esque manner where there is an explicit conflict and tension inherent to the non-neutral action of "controlling" a character, but i don't see how that easily fits into the dna specifically of ttrpgs. there is an element of roleplay in ttrpgs where there is a meeting of the player's self and the character's self in order to produce the performance of the game-narrative in accordance with the structural rules. laying out like that i guess there's overlap between the premise of a roleplay-focused ttrpgs and the Witch Narrative, but both have different causes and different end goals. in a ttrpg no matter what in some form your goal is to "win", to attain something and move on to the next thing - everything in a ttrpg/game serves more as a vessel to enable the player to both achieve and experience a victory-state. there are ttrpg types that could interrogate these elements in a satisfying way, but nothing in umineko is directly about these things and thus a translation in this form would be to lose something in the process.
you don't come to umineko to "win" umineko. or if you do you'll quickly figure out that that is something not possible within the story's verbage. mystery and horror and tragedy do not produce victory in the conventional sense and any story in those genres that uncritically ends on a "victory" is dubious at best and incompetent at worst. in these worlds and fictions, how is it that something you could call victory can be attained? what sort of person would you need to be in order to strive for this victory? if any of the umineko characters were capable of this trajectory then they would never have ended up in the situation that they are in. to not only be concerned with powergaming but also to have the ability to do so fundamentally changes an individual's position within a narrative - for the premise to exist it implies a way out of any potential hardship, that if you're good enough at [power verb] then you can attain autonomy/power/dominion. nobody on rokkenjima ever had any of these things, which is why this is all happening in the first place. i don't think you can ever satisfactorily separate umineko characters from their disempowering material conditions like that.
the silly answer to this question, of course, has to be beatrice who has already been roleplayed by half of the cast of umineko at this point anyway. beatrice "exists" and beatrice is a vessel for power so in this way beatrice is already kind of a ttrpg character in that sense if the ttrpg's goal is desperate slaughter through at least two layers of metaphor and obfuscation. the important thing to take into account is that a playable ttrpg character "exists" and so maybe if more people on rokkenjima were into roleplaying none of these horrors would be happening lol.
#coolstuffiseverywhere#can you have a satisfying ttrpg character who is truly and inescapably doomed by the narrative? that's the real question here#anyway this deranged tangent was not what you asked for and doesn't address your question in any way but here we are lol

what i think of mu kusunoki
tldr: she's unforgivable in my eyes. hella fucking unforgivable.
but the long story is, i think i know what happened in mu's storyline, though bear in mind this is purely conjecture, so it might be wrong. credit for drama translation to onigiriico who is so fast in translating the drama holy heck.
tw// bullying, bugs
read more below:
i find it super interesting that the two mvs have wildly different vibe to it. after pain was more rooted in reality, the background was mostly at school, the people involved in the story are humanoid, everything is pristine, beautiful and tragic. while on the other hand, not my fault is bold, vibrant, surreal, so out of touch of reality it's actually crazy. there are two ways to read this:
that after pain was closer to what happened, that's why the memory is more clear, or
not my fault is closer to what happened, and the reason why it's surreal is that bc mu herself does not consider it the "reality".
i think it's closer to the second point than the first. Why? Because there are contradictions in after pain. first one is the message exchanged between mu and the supposed bullies.
i can't read a lotta kanji, but as i understand it, mu and the "bullies" had a group chat together where mu bought the "bullies" new make ups, and basically wanted to hang out more bc mu had money. and the last sticker that she sent has "ureshii" written on it, means that she's "happy." (feel free to correct me!)
the other contradiction is the reason why she killed her victim. because well, her bully is not her victim. literally, the only time we see the victim was when she walked away when mu is being bullied, so what was the motive? wouldn't it be more obvious if mu killed her bullies and not this one random girl who presumably killed bc she didn't care abt mu? what's up with that?
but then we get it's not my fault. (banger btw)
it starts off immediately with mu being the veritable queen bee of the hive, wanting everyone to please her. and if she's unhappy with you, you get "destroyed". the first line of the song is literally "yappa, hora, watashi no kachi" which means "i knew it, see, i'm the winner." and she continued with "it won't ever change." (which genuinely made me laugh now bc she got unforgivable-leaning vote rn lmfao)
what i would like to point out regarding the person who made her displeased is destroyed is this: once you get pushed away from her favor, it means that you are gone. sure, you still exist, but you are no longer useful to her. you broke into pieces. and i would like to point you guys to these:
so in this frame, we see that she has 8 followers, right? one of them get pushed away and she broke. but then we see this frame:
only three of them left. only three. at the very least, there are FIVE PEOPLE who are now broken because of mu.
we do actually see some uh... people that we know from the mv.
the victim one is pure conjecture, but I'm fairly sure about the three. because well, those three who have the most pictures? are the supposed bullies and the one who survived from getting stomped on mu.
we see the victim looking at the quartet with disgust in her eyes, and when the quartet saw her, she became her next target. which brings me to my next point.
from the way this is framed, her friend, which we will dub as acchan because that was her contact name, notified mu of something and everyone looked back. mu herself looked at the camera like whoever is meddling rn is being a big annoyance.
then immediately after that, the next picture is of the murder and mu mcfuckin' losing it. then the very last scene was the bodies of her "victim" powered up to allow her to escape from her little pod once again, reborn. i think the bugs were actually a metaphor for acceptance (but green, so probably a toxic kind? so perhaps kind of like kissing her ass?) and that after we say that she was forgiven of her sin, she became the queen bee that she was before, escaping the prison as her true self.
and then the real kicker of this whole mv?
THIS PART IN AFTER PAIN. TURNS OUT, SHE WASN'T THE ONE WHO WAS GRIEVING FOR THE GIRL. SHE WAS PROBABLY THE ONE WHO PUT THE FLOWER THERE AND SHE WAS ENJOYING THE SIGHT.
THIS? THIS WAS THE REAL SCENE.
the victim was being bullied by presumably mu and her clique and has to deal with all of her shit being destroyed and probably thrown a bucket of water as well. this is the true scene. none of that beautiful, clean bullshit that mu painted in after pain. no, this is (i believe the real thing)
which then brought me to my next point now, the voice drama. the voice drama confirmed these:
that mu still views herself as the victim
that mu did not think what she did was wrong, it was merely a revenge. if she killed her bullies, it should be okay. if she bullied people, it's because she was bullied before so now it's justified.
that she will be forgiven anyway.
that mu is REALLY good at gaslighting people. she even affected es.
that mu thinks that because her position is so enviable, that's probably the reason why she was being bullied,
that she's not above using threats of other's death for her survival,
that she is a massive bitch who actually doesn't know how friendship work
that the mv could be manipulated by the prisoners, they just have to have strong feeling about the event and it will be painted as such, though MILGRAM can go deeper than that
mkdr, the song chosen for mu, interestingly enough tells a story about a pair who is in a toxic relationship, one who is very dependent on the other, the other one kind of doesn't know the impact of their words. i think this in a way described mu and haruka's relationship.
so i think this is her story. i believe that first when she entered school, she wasn't exactly discriminated or being bullied, it's just that according to her, it must be bullying. for revenge, she decided to be the queen bee of the school. she has everything, looks, money, probably also connection, ofc ppl flocked to her. but she wasn't happy with some of them, so once she's done w/ them, she cuts them off and then bullied those people.
the victim was once upon a time also part of this friendship. she might even be the one who became mu's first friend. but then she saw all the atrocities that mu did, and became disgusted by her.
then i have two ways this could go:
first, the girl became the target of mu's cliques and was bullied by them. decided enough was enough (the final frame of it's not my fault), she decided to fight back and reported mu. mu, knowing that her time is running out, decided to chase after the girl and asked her to delete the evidence. the girl rejected that, ofc, and then mu in panic killed her.
or second, the girl still became the target of mu's cliques, but she was still trying to hold on and not do anything abt it. but when she saw that she wasn't the only target, she was angry at mu and immediately berated her. mu who thrived under attention ofc couldn't take this, esp from someone who she cared about. so she decided to ask for forgiveness, and ofc rejected. mu, in rage, killed the girl.
either way the story goes, the girl died and mu lose it. she lose everyone, her "friends" are now scared of her, she's now in milgram, her status is back to as someone who has nothing.
but then after pain happened. our acceptance of her fault happened. haruka happened. and she was reborn as the queen bee that she was, that she is, and she was so happy that milgram existed.
the worst part abt all of this is that someone like mu exist in this world. someone who, for her benefits, will steps on everyone and gaslight the absolute hell out of you if you don't fit her ideal. we as viewers had been absolutely lied to. after it's not my fault? i can't even see after pain in the same light. holy shit.
anyway that's my thought, i'm definitely voting unforgivable bc this shit won't fly with me. just. ew.
edit: this just make the whole thing worse but rochisama did a translation of things written on the board and the text, and it proved that:
the first scene of after pain (mu waking up) was her being bullied for killing the other girl
the text proves that her and her """bullies"""" was on good term (went out to get tapioca and borrowed lipstick and it was a spare apparently??)
the black board at the end wasn't meant for mu, it was meant for THE VICTIM.
when i thought this couldnt get any worse. it did. what the fuck mu kusunoki
#mu kusunoki#milgram#anyway girlboss gatekeep gaslight#i am definitely not forgiving her fuck no#please listen to the voice drama because the way she speaks? i threw up a little in my mouth#yikes#tw bullying#tw bugs#fuck this was so long

hey guys, its been a while since iâve done one of these, but iâm bringing it back - episodes in review!!! (thatâs its name now)
featuring spoilers for iii episode 17!! make sure you watch that before you check this out
i feel like this episode was all over the place in the best way possible
for those unaware, iâm actually in the northern hemisphere for once which is why this is so late, i simply havenât the time to watch it!!
to begin, why is he here
i love the asset yes, but cheesy is the last person i expected to see, is this balloon projecting the people he wanted to be friends with at the hotel??? i dunno, but this was such a silly scene
now, i had to rewind this bit at least five times to process what i saw
so remember what i said about balloon projecting? scratch that, i forgot this was a thing
first the fact that when he thought of fighting a shark the FIRST scenario that came to mind was him saving candle, that and the fact that he imagined her calling him âmy spoon in silver armourâ was so silly this fellow has read nothing but fairytales ever ok
also he was literally blushing do i have to say anything about that here? no, because this is tumblr and everyone understands everything
âawwwh but vee he turned goâ shhhh sh iâm gonna get to that but can we just revel in this
âŠ
okay lets move on now
why are they here
iâve been on a bfdi binge lately so i was actually very happy seeing coiny also the line about balloon only making friends with coins was so funny to me and iâm keeping that forever
as for paper he was so silly in this and for what, i love the guy
okay back to serious stuff
can i just say, the first thing i thought when i saw this scene was âthatâs something cobs would sayâ
like,,, i was kind of terrified this entire episode because mephoneâs desperation to chase his aspiration reminded me of just cobsâ whole demeanour. i know its a little silly of me, but this idea that ârevolutionary technologyâ should solve it all is just a liiiittle too similar to the way i feel meeple functions
but maybe thats just me i dunno
do i really need to say anything
little mans has attachment issues, i donât think he actually likes the contests and all that as much as he actually likes the contestants, and i donât think he realises he can just be friends with them
i feel so bad because heâs been brainwashed by the people around him that he thinks that the only thing giving him purpose is this show, its tragic
okay so back to the silly, this caught me so off guard because i adored enanimat ensanitay and yellowangiruâs ii song parody videos when i was younger, so seeing this gave me such bad whiplash i had to pause and think a second
it was such a random callback (if it is at all) and i absolutely loved it
oh back to the sad again wow!!
i think mephoneâs realising his fault in managing the show, getting too ahead of himself when presented the promise of longer air times, but the issue is that he thinks that this shows he isnât fit to run the show at all
i think this belief that âone mistake means your conpletely incapableâ may have stemmed from meeple in some form or another, especially considering all the flashbacks and all
this brings me so much emotion
look at how far theyâve come, like genuinely. from worst enemies to one of the closest friendships in season 3
they can communicate, they can be vulnerable with one another, and theyâve improved one another substantially
i often tell people that iâm not the biggest fan of iii3 because they almost completely changed nickelâs personality, and i still relatively stand by that, but seeing this version of nickel who is capable of change and development just warms my heart (even if it feels wrong)
this was so so sweet, and i was smiling every second of the elimination (i would say a first but boxâs elimination existed too)
aaaaanyway thatâs all from me, thank you for listening to my rambles about this gem of an episode, and i wish you all well till the next!!!
#inanimate insanity#inanimate insanity invitational#iii 17#iii 17 spoilers#ii spoilers#iii spoilers#i miss doing this it has been soooooo long#sillyposting#technically#episode in review

Quick pokemon au fic. Kwarrel Lives, Kevin gets to be the Sun/Moon protag, it's a whole thing.
~~
It wasnât that Kevin was unappreciative, or failed to understand the situation. He knew how lucky he was, given his situation, to have a trustworthy adult take him in. After so long alone on the streets, tossed out before he even got a shot at getting his junior license and ostracized for his powers by those around him, just finding a decent adult had seemed like a worthless pipedream. There was such a strong belief that any kid his age running around alone must be a trainer, the good adults that did take notice of him never even seemed to consider that he might need more than a pat on the shoulder and maybe a free item he couldnât use. And that was assuming they had anything to give themselves. Proper homelessness was far from common on top of it, and those who were typically werenât in any sort of place to take a kid under their wing.
Kwarrel had been an exception. His issue had been that escaping from prison didnât leave you with much more than the clothes on your back, and you shed those as soon as you could. Mentally, emotionally, heâd been in a good enough place to take a random streetbrat under his wing, to be able to give him the best care possible under their poor circumstances. And certainly, heâd been the first Kevinâd met to invite him along when he managed to drag himself up and out. Kevin hadnât been about to say no, not to the only proper adult guardian heâd ever had in his life and the promise of maybe being able to get a safe and stable home. Maybe. Hopefully. That it meant travelling all the way to Alola of all regions, well, it was the price to pay to not be alone, scared, and struggling anymore.
And he understood that the reason they were going all the way to Alola was because Kwarrel was a wanted man who had finally managed to get the shit he needed together to flee the region with a young ward in tow. That it had taken a lot of work, a lot of pulling strings with the sort of people Kwarrel didnât even want him in the same building as, to get them both out there with fake papers to allow them something like a normal life. That heâd done a lot of things Kevin wasnât supposed to know about to pay their way and get them temporary housing in a Pokecenter.
Kwarrelâs Unovan license had totally been legitimate when he brought it into City Hall to swap for an Alola one. He was just without a team because his Tauros had recently died. They needed to stay at the Pokecenter because the move had been last minute. Heâd been a stay-at-home-dad for the last few years- let that and their âI donât want to talk about itâs fill in any gaps about why the sudden move with nothing to their names- and was looking forward to getting back to work once he found something. Kevin didnât have records because heâd been homeschooled, but he was looking forward to finally getting his junior license and seeing what Alola had to offer.
They were a mostly normal family, with a tragic but normal backstory. Something that would keep the locals offering the helping hands they sorely needed while not looking too deep into things. All they had to do was keep on mostly on the straight and narrow, donât draw unnecessary attention, be as normal as they were able. As long as they kept their heads down, they wouldnât have any problems.
Kevin just wasnât exactly good at keeping his head down, was the thing. Between his powers and his bold, rebellious nature, it just didnât come easily to him. Even when he tried, fate tended to conspire against him, pulling him into trouble and the spotlight one way or another.
When, a week after their arrival, heâd followed an invitation to a village in the jungle by the local professor and âKahunaâ- an act and promise of support for the newcomer child who had clearly been through much and needed what hey could give- it would turn out that he certainly hadnât manage to leave fate behind.

Been a looong while but I'm back with a new episode commentary. 1x09 here we go!
The instant recall to finale of spn s 1 is just as delicious and jarring this time around. Find it very very interesting that it's the vampires that mimic the Winchesters here and do so in order to learn their fate and fulfil it. I'd definitely call this a dark mirror to begin with.
I also adore these vamps, they're sooo fun looking.
John and Mary really came out of that near death experience losing no time in getting together.
The appreciation of Dean being paralleled to the appreciation of Baby is just... sooo funny considering the sheer amount of connections there.
Soo Kyle is instantly suspish here. Not even hiding it, damn. You can tell the shift in personality just based off his demeanor. I also think the little hand gesture he does as he walk away is interesting, it's almost like he's saying "im washing my hands off this bullshit". It subble enough that you could think it's jealousy.
The little hints at Lata and John friendship! My beloved!. Also Lata is suuuch a gossip I love her!
I once more am asking John Winchester to stop trying to be subtle, it aint his strong suit. But alternatively, I sorta get it? Like I can understand why it would be confusing if u don't get where Mary is coming from, since she has no problem letting strangers (and exs) on the street see them together, but not their close friends? But I also completely get Mary as well, she's actually lived as a hunter her whole life which means bagage already, then the fact that their relationship is new and fragile. Plus both her parents and his haven't had the easiest time with relationships. Cautious makes sense.
Ah yes, "fate is what u make it". Dean hearing it from John who heard it from Millie. All of them have their very personal reasons for that saying to apply, but also... Dean saying he didn't expect where things got when he "pushed that first domino" reminds me of Cas and him talking after the 1st Apocalypse that wasn't and about how free will sometimes means things aren't really gonna go the way you like them.to or expect them to (peace or freedom?). It's sorta funny then (read:ironic) that in both John's life (SPN!John) and Dean and Cas after Swan Song the outcome was actually quite tragic over all, John's life literally going out in flames with the rest of it being a living nightmare and in Dean and Cas' case Sam is dead and Heaven is starting a Civil War. This episode then does something really nice in subverting that expectation by setting up the tragedy (John is to die, can't change that) and allowing him to survive and not just that but ending it with him getting exactly what he'd wanted here in the beginning of the episode, getting to freely be with Mary.
I adore how Carlos calms down the driver, showing once again the full range of their skill as hunter and empathy as person. Love them so so much!
Couldn't get a hold of John, says Mary, being more suspicious then if she and John had shown up together... I find that hilarious!
Also also, love that this clarified that fangs are still teeth aka u can identify people (vampires here) based on them. I love love love that!
UuuĂč Betty is suspish about Mary.
God! Dean had to have loved the vampire robbers. Vobbers? Rompires? Vambbers?
Oh noooo John! Don't be ur children! Don't just pick up random amulets like a moron! (At least we know who they got it from?)
Carlos is almost just as bad, my God! You see ur friend drop it like it hot and you just bend to.pick it urself?! Ah, Carlos, the range you got babe.
John dying by vamps begins my headache of the night because it is 1000% a callback to Dean's death in 15x20. And I wish that wasnt the case.
Ok let's talk Ursitoare (Uhr- see-too-ah-reh) a sec. So this is Romanian myth. To give an overview of it, the myth largely relates to the Ursitoare (or Fates you could say) blessing or cursing a new born after they've been born. Usually the legend states that the mother or midwife would have to leave out gifts (generally food like bread or water or salt etc) to basically appease them and make sure the baby gets a good destiny foretold. It's also states that those who eavesdrop on them as they tell the childs destiny shall die. They are also said to be quick to anger if spurned. Another interesting think tho about the myth is that (while there can sometimes be 7 or 9) the 3 ursitoare are generally known as Ursitoarea, Soarta si Moartea (aka the One who Wishes your fortune, Fate and Death) again the Greak Fates work very well and there's def overlap between the myths here. But importantly, Ursitoarea is the oldest and Death the Youngest (or othewise simply stated as the 3rd).
Now based on this we have a few things to keep in mind, mainly our vampires. They esentially eavesdrop on John's fate here and get exactly what the legend states - killed. In other news, the Ursitoare are very much neutral beings generally. They can be plied with offerings sure, but overall they just spin the thread as it goes. Its only ever an active role when wishing the newborns destiny. Now John's our newborn here, new to hunting at least, reborn once already after the war and a second time after confrunting everything he has since hunting became his life. More importantly, in some versions of the myth, the ursitoare give either the mother or the midwife dreams the night after the baby is born that need to be carefully interpreted afterwards - exactly what the Gem does here.
To wrap this part up a bit, I am.endlessly happy about the way they tackled this myth. SPN had sadly a bad bad record with Romanian mythology and lore - 1st with the witches in s7 which I'd argue was ... 'inspired' by rromani mythology rather than Romanian which is its own culture and as such its own racist connotation to that whole mess. And 2nd with the Imaginary Friends in s 11 aka Zanna .... which has absolutely nothing to do with Romanian mythology beyond slapping a horrendous mispronunciation of ZĂąnÄ onto a piece of lore that doesnt exist in Romanian mythos - we don't have any imaginary friend stuff, its literally all imported from the US. So this lore here? This is fucking aces! It actually makes sense, is actually a Romanian myth that is still being invoked nowadays - especially in the countryside as tradition of baptising/birth and it works very well in the context of the episode. Now, it would've been perfect if they didnt add that shh sound in Ursitoare making ir Urshitoare... Like its funny a bit cuz I constantly think of bears (urĆi - ursh is plural for bear in Romanian) but its ok since its just that. I can live with a minor mispronunciation. I will say the Gem itself is fully made up tho for TW.
To answer Carlos tho, the Ursitoare themselves tell u 2 things: the future and also a future they are willing to bless or curse you with. It's essentially both. They show u the future, ur life as it's meant to be exactly, no deviation, but only in pieces or really a piece as a dream and, importantly the sorta end result of ur life which they wish upon u as newborn. How u get to that wish is up to you. The Gem.appears to have merged these two.
I also love love love the show of community that hunters have, that a hunters network is important to getting the job done. It makes me strangle SPN!John worse because he actively isolated himself aaand his kids. Ffs!
Awwwweee I like Betty! I mean shes a cop soo... not great but shes nice and cares so much and is worried :((
Millie does a good job here I think. She's not dismissive of Bettys concerns, but shes also careful to dispel them if possible. She shows once more how good she is at manipulating people, tho admitedly this time it isnt anything malicious or even generally negative.
I also gotta say that Betty (and id say John by extension) is very naive to think that war could in any way shape or form help with the issues John had had. Like he had trauma from his fathers abandonment and his mothers general treatment afterwards, had trauma from the disfunctional relationship the two had before Henry died/left, which all was underscored by deep-seated guilt that he let out as rage. Like all war would do is make it far far worse. It shows just how young Betty is truly and how she really hasn't lived through too much yet. And i said John too because Im fairly sure he also thought going to war would help in a similar manner.
I also headcanon that Betty was very inspired by Millie... but thats just me.
Carlos continues to be a dumb dumb about Anton... unsurprising, but omg.
I forgot the stone was carved from the Ursitoare's ribs... is it just me who though of the birth of Eve here??? Also yes, Il Soarta is def Italian I realize now. Do i question why an Italian cult was obsessed with Romanian myth.. absolutely not.
Im think that the 'most times not'part of what destiny the Gem shows u is due to essentially the stone acting as ... well... an eavesdropper. Literally. It was given to specific people to use by the Ursitoare as recompense for their worship - so good fate; but then as time went on it became a useful artifact for the benefit of Il Soarta so it became a way to eavesdrop on destiny so said destiny changed in them because that worship became.in name only. As mentioned, the Ursitoare arent patient and dont take well to being spurned or used in this case.
God the drip on the vamps, love them so much!
I would also argue that fate ultimately doesn't care about anyone if the whole universe is in jeopardy and uve a bigger destiny like John Winchester does.
I agree with Mary calling Millie here. Especially since she actually.knows what it's like to just ... lose someone like that. John does too, but he's also the one in the middle of it.
Ironic that Mary says "even if i have to kill every vampire in the tri-state area " ... a version of her actually does do that... for her kids. And simultaneously, its ironic also that another version of John will tell their kids that vampires are extinct (which could get them killed fyi).
Millie and Dean would be horrible together... all theyd do is work in the garage and shittalk research... and I kind love that for them.
I also like that Millie does in fact tell John bout Betty and also basically tells him.to not bullshit a bullshitter. This convo between Millie and John might be the 1st truly empathetic one we've had for them. Like yes, John's defenses go up instantly and he immediately assumes that Millie agrees with Betty and is judging him, but Millie, this time, doesnt do that. She just wants to check-in on how he's doing. And does so softly. And believes him more importantly.
And of course, back to the tried and true Winchester feelings avoidance after we've just had a helluva emotionally vulnerable talk.
I live for Carlos being disappointed in the vamps housing choices. I too would judge that. (So would Dean tbh)
Aaaaand Carlos once more gives us the biggest puzzle piece to where the vamps are.
While Lata is once more absolutely delighted by the magic lockpick like the wonderful nerd she is.
Millie to John "Dont do what u always do, not today" --> leads him directly to the room hes gonna die in. Irony at its finest.
A lot of irony in this episode, i realize now...
God I adore Carlos v vampires fight scene, its soo good. And its followed by the equally as fantastic Mary v vampires. Ahhh, I love them all so much.
Ppl really shouldn't fuck with Mary Campbell when shes pissed and worried.
I will miss the vamps tho... i really liked them :(
Ah yes, Winchester ingenuity at its finest... đ
I like what this ep says about how dead mans blood works? It implies that vampires literally drain the life force through the blood because the dead mans blood only came into effect once John did actually die - a few moments after he got bit thus implying a certain supernatural link between the blood just ingested and John's lifeforce. I vibe with that.
Ah yes... the full context - still drives me.mad. WHAT DOES THAT MEAN ROBBIE?! Especially with all the parallels TW has to SPN.
I appreciate the CPR not stopping until only after they think he really did die for good. U DONT stop CRP for dramatic pause ( advice to othee shows/movies or in ro aviz amatorilor)
Antoooooonnnnnn!
Anton and Carlos!!! đđđ yay!
And they're using their words! They're communicating guys đ im so proud
Damn... Mary and John are being cute too đ„Č
Dun dun dun!
Betty and Kyle and Kyle is Akrida! đ±
Sorry, i dont got anything revealing or deep to say about the ending here đ€Łđ€Łđ€Ł its all plot and relationships.
Aand so we reach the end of another episode, 4 more to go!
I will say time and distance made this episode easier to watch for me. 15x20 had fucked me up before and made it very hard to watch without refering back to it. It has several parallels to Dean and dying specifically. The main one ofc being death adjacent to vampires. But it also has John killing himself for the sake of the hunt which sadly doesn't bode well either because it reminds me of a really bad couple of weeks back in 2017 when i had the realization that Dean has literally been shown as suicidal every single season (and i can name the ep, its so clear) and then Advanced Thanatology hit the Tv screens on nov 9th 2017... not a fun realization and def not a fun series of events afterwards. Sorry to bring this up here, but well... its relevant sadly.
Thankfully tho, this episode works well to deconstruct that and to subvert the spn finale by allowing John to live and to fully embrace his realtionship with Mary.
In other news, next ep will anger me a bit... for.multiple reason, some having already been discussed by people better equiped to talk about it then me. But rest assured, ive shit to say outside of that too, so see y'all for ep 10. Im aiming to have that up by the end of the week.
And thanks to @noybusiness and @shallowseeker for encouranging me to continue this.

Re: This post
First off, congrats on three years, girlie!! This is so cool, man. I love seeing Soulsborne games change peopleâs worlds and give them passion and inspiration for years afterwards <333
(Now hurry up and get to over ten years like me you scrub đđ)
Asfghajsdg but in all seriousness, I love that we both started getting active around the BB tumblr fandom around the same time, because even though I was a Soulsborne junkie, I had never found a stable group of lore-friends to enjoy it with, and throughout 2020-2021, I was just drifting aimlessly after watching my old fandom community collapse.
I had been only using tumblr for random shit on another account before this one, but one day I looked up something about the Doll and Gehrman, kinda wondering if the whole âEven the Dollâ creep-theory had any other interpretations. I just didnât like the idea that Miyazaki had written his main âsad old manâ of Bloodborne to be a weirdo because it didnât soundâŠright? Something felt really off lol. His âsad old menâ types usually are dark because of their grave mistakes that led to the deaths of people they cared about/innocent people.
Itâs always more tragic than it is gross, and Miyazaki is big on that type of story-telling. He likes his refinement. Sure enough, that gave me the hunch that the Doll wasnâtâŠya know.
And voila! I stumble across your brilliant post! I think it was one of the things that made me finally create a Soulsborne blog because I wanted to reblog it. Iâm not sure if thatâs the exact timeline, but it was definitely part of what drew me over here.
And now here we are, going strong, trying to move on after going through fandom drama hell, and itâs been three years!
Honesty? You are kicking ass <3
Girl you say this, but at the almost same time, Fantomette also started scouting the fandom and figured she wanted to stick with me over that post :pensive: That post makes me extremely nostalgic! It was just... so chill, so nice, so leveled. 0% fatigue. Where did that nice version of me go and who is this angry unlikeable bitch typing this ask response now? xD
But yeah, overall, Soulsborne games are just written in such a way that it genuinely helps to know all of them on at least basic story level to understand each of them individually! The more I learned about reoccuring themes in other games in the series, the better my lore understanding became. You know I would not do shit on Research Hall and Deep Sea without DS3, or better grasp ER characters without entire DS trilogy! If you don't want to play, just learn their themes and story, I promise it helps a lot!
Anyways thank you for the nice words; I had not even noticed how fast the time went by! It feels like I have not done "enough" considering three years span, but maybe I am underestimating myself and focusing too much comparing amount of my drawings compared with faster and more talented artists. After all, fandomry is first about discussions and passion, and I've had nothing BUT that on the way x) So yeah, let's just give up and die watch fandom crash and burn. Because, you know what? THE very "system" that made it crash and burn to begin with will also, eventually, crash and burn, and something good will sprout from the ruins. And we won't miss it! Except, that good era will also crash and burn eventually. And then the thing that destroyed it will. And then what people build from THOSE ruins will. And then another thing... and another thing... and another thing.....
STILL I want you to be there for me through every turn of the downward spiral, you chicken <3 *stabs u affectionately*
