Over two years of reading all sorts of antis bullshit, constantly calling the Darkling abuser, rapist, psychopath and I don't know what else... what's ironic it didn't make me stop liking him (quite contrary), or stop shipping Darklina (although I've reconsidered it a little for different reasons). The only visible change is in regard of my preferences of reading.

Instead of all sorts of wholesome, well-researched, often even fluffy alternatives, I'm reading mostly "gross", violent stuff with deeply unequal postitions, where Sasha gets to be the monster fandom likes to paint him as.

I want to preface this post by saying that I love the cat king as a character, especially one that has such a major impact on Edwin and his relationship with his queerness and learning to be okay with it; HOWEVER, I also believe that everyone that genuinely believes he should be a love interest for Edwin should read this. well!! i’m really not,,, big on killermare from an objective standpoint BUT i do think they’re kinda interesting. like, their just like natural state of being is absolutely toxic. there’s no way they could be healthy. to me. nightmare would be manipulative, would absolutely keep killer trapped and under his thumb, would mess with his emotions and his vulnerability that comes with his fucked up soul. and killer wouldn’t try to make any kinda relationship with him work. so it kinda goes both ways. there’d be clashing. and i just woke up so i can’t really formulate anything smart to say but i think their dynamic(s) could be interesting 👍 even if im not crazy about them

I’ll tell ya why men hate women who are into any kind of stan culture (especially musical artists and some content creators)…

bc it’s a subculture in which mostly women are in power. It’s been known that when A LOT of women like something, it inevitably gets mega popular. And in recent years, we have found this sense of “you owe ME” and “WE pay your bills” kind of thinking.

It’s been coined as “parasocial” relationships (and just to be clear ANYONE can contribute to this) for a stan who becomes too egotistical and thinks of them self as higher than their idol. This phenomenon has caused many people with large audiences/fanbases to kind of do whatever the audience tells them to do. I mean this in the sense of “they won’t shut up I’ll just do/say the thing so they’ll move on” or “I’m not entirely comfy but I’ll do it to appease them”.

And this is the reason men hate when women like things. Women can be in the power position and men quite literally hate to see it. Because they see it happen to them.

People complaining about Star Wars shows being too slow, too much filler, like ok why don’t you just not watch? Log off Twitter?

If you can’t see any of the importance of the episodes that don’t have firefights and explosions every five fucking seconds, and complain there’s no story when the plot flies right over your head, that’s not everyone else’s problem. Yes the beginning of Andor takes a while to swing into things, and there’s many reasons for it. I frankly don’t even understand the complaints around the Bad Batch because each episode is far more obvious in its intents and still very exciting. How did any of you watch The Clone Wars?????

No one cares that you think the episodes not involving direct conflict with the Empire are boring. You’re boring. Gain some sort of common sense and think critically about the storytelling before you complain that there is none :)
