I had a friend. She was Palestinian. We had a good rapport. We saw each other at parties, we hugged, we talked. We didn't talk about things in detail, especially when I moved away from antizionist activism (she played a role in getting me involved) but we had a general sense of respect. We recognized that we probably wouldn't agree on everything, but we stayed friendly.
After Oct 7th and the beginning of the massacre of Gazans she reached out to me, and we made a plan to get coffee.
The night before, I posted that Jews are Indigenous to the Levant and she blocked me. Not a word. We never got coffee. She has a different group of friends now. I haven't seen her since.
I don't blame her. Its a really hard time. I know how I felt on Oct 7th, so I have an idea of what it feels like to watch your people get massacred from afar and be able to do nothing. Every day has been October 7th for her and her family for months now.
I also won't let go of my principles, of who I am. I know where I come from and I'm not going to deny my people's inherent right to self-determination and sovereignty in our ancestral homeland. I am also not going to deny hers. I feel connected to her because we share a homeland and also ancestry.
Its devastating that as a Jew and as an Israeli citizen, I can get on a plane any time I want and visit my homeland. For her, for Palestinians, it's not that simple. My dream is that one day we will meet for coffee in Jerusalem. One day we will be allowed. And we will have no reason to block each other or hate each other and there will be peace and freedom.
One day.

I do hope that one day we’ll all be able to live in our land together, peacefully. We don’t have to worry about bombs or rockets.
We will get through this, all of us. Together

So, just to be clear, I made a post specifically explaining that I hear this phrase as a call for my death personally. I hear this phrase as a call for the death of all Jews to be murdered and denied burial and to be shoved into the sea and provided examples as of why. And I received this in my inbox less than a minute later.
I also explained explicitly that I believe Palestinian people have a right to use this phrase and reclaim it from terrorists who took it from them. I explained that my ultimate goal is peace for Palestinians and for Jews. I explained that I wish for Palestinians to live as full and equal citizens in their homeland. I explained that anything that does not contribute to this goal of peace is causing active harm to Jews as well as deepening the conflict going on right now.
Given that information, you chose to send me this.
So you want me to die? You want to kill me, a Jewish person who does not live in and has never been to Israel? You want to kill all Jews?
Hmmm…it sounds like only one of us actually supports genocide, and it sure isn’t me.
Next time you want to tell me that you want me dead and want to kill all Jewish people, you can just say that. There’s no need to pretend you’re helping Palestinians at the same time.
PS: to all the goyim who replied to my recent posts that they support Jews and abhor antisemitism—now would be a good time to show support.
Jews cannot continue to receive this kind of targeted harassment in the name of people who claim to support peace. Standing up to antisemitism means loudly and clearly denouncing this. And if you don’t do so, I’m just gonna assume you stand with @pata-hikari, who wants me dead.
I have made it abundantly clear that I don’t support the violent response to the 10/7 attacks. I have made it abundantly clear I want freedom and equality for Palestinians. It’s time for y’all to make it abundantly clear that you understand that this message was a death threat. That people are using a phrase coined to promote hope and peace and liberation to threaten (another) mass Jewish slaughter. Do you care about me or not? Stop fence sitting or choosing sides. Fight for peace or stop pretending to be my friend and ally. An ally doesn’t stand idly by while someone they claim to support gets death threats.
Again, I don’t want ANY violence. I don’t want anyone to attack this person. What I want is to stop having to deal with this shit every day. What I want is for people to be as loud in their opposition to antisemitism as they are for Palestinian self determination. What I want is to stop having to be regarded as a good guy or a bad guy. I just want to be a fucking person and I want PEACE ONLY.

Hello Folks,
Recently their has been a lot of discussion surrounding the decision of the BDS movement to call for a boycott of Standing Together. Today we released a statement composed by members of the Palestinian Leadership of the movement. I welcome everyone to read the statement and share with others. The decision by BDS was disappointing to many of us, but this is the time to reaffirm our values: our commitment to changing Israeli society, building Jewish-Arab solidarity, stopping the war, and ending the occupation.
Here is the statement on Twitter:
https://x.com/omdimbeyachad/status/1752394061414109315?s=20
“We are proud to organize Palestinians and Jews together, we stand by our movement, our strategy, and our theory of change, and we will continue to organize until we are all equal and free.”

I refuse to use the terms “Israel-Palestine Conflict,” “Israel-Hamas War,” “Gaza War,” etc. You should, as well.
It is not a conflict. It is not a war. It is not some dispute between two equal parties.
It is apartheid. It is ethnic cleansing. It is genocide.
Call it for what it is and stop falling for western propaganda. Stop defending Israel with your wording.

On a day when you should be able to just mourn for those you've lost, you're out here combating disinformation. May I say: holy shit, lots of respect for that. And I am really sorry that it's necessary. I don't really know what else to say, except perhaps that I hope you don't have to grieve alone.
thank you. i can't really put into words how this ask made me feel. i'm gonna try
ever since october 7/שבת שחורה, all the jewish communities i'm in have had conversations about how isolated we feel from the rest of the world,* because while we stand rooted in our grieving, the rest of the world continues on as if no tragedy has happened to our people. i remember a week or so after october 7, at a meeting i had scheduled weeks before to discuss something completely different, my rabbi commented to me that "it feels like the world is gaslighting us. they're just going about their days as if nothing's happening." a big open wound in the jewish community right now is how so many of us didn't even get a message of condolences from any of our goyische friends** after the nova festival was attacked
all of this is happening again. hersh, aside from my personal connection to him, was a symbol for us for the entire "bring them home" movement, thanks to his amazing parents. so to not only find out that he was dead, but also that he was likely murdered because their captors heard that the idf was close to rescuing them, it's almost like that initial attack just happened all over again. and that isolation is happening all over again
this ask made me feel seen in a way i was kinda maybe losing hope was possible. not only did you initiate this, but you don't even know me!
this made me cry happy tears. thank you for this ask. may everlasting peace and wholeness be upon all of us very very soon
*minus other levantine cultures, when that kinship isn't disrupted by bigotry
**again, minus other levantine cultures when in the absence of bigotry

Please note there are articles from sites I was specifically told to look at as well because they're more reliable for Palestinian news due to not being connected to Hamas propaganda. I mean this as genuine information sharing from areas I'm hoping are reliable so I can support Palestinians properly as well without falling for antisemitic dogwhistles. I'm genuinely trying and I do mean all this in good faith. When I'm sharing things/talking about things criticising the government and the military and anyone else as individuals committing awful acts against Palestinians or supporting these things in other ways because of their own suffering, I do genuinely intend to just criticise that, not Israel even existing as a whole or Zionism's existence as though it is a monolith when it isn't, etc etc.
Israeli people are going through horrors right now too at the hands of the terrorist group Hamas and this is fucked up and needs to end, antisemitism is a huge problem that is only getting worse and impacting Jewish people around the world, way too many people in the pro-Palestine movement in Western countries are falling for antisemitic dogwhistles and then radicalising worse and worse against Jewish people as a whole while telling themselves and others it's about Palestine even while actively causing issue for things that would help Palestinians because their Jew-hatred has become more important and many of them likely never actually cared about bringing freedom to Palestinians, Zionism isn't inherently bad there are just extremist sections of it like there are with any ideology in the world that people then bad faith point to in an attempt to paint the entire thing as all the same thing going for the same goals when it isn't, antisemitic people then use Zionist interchangeably with 'Jew' to hide what they're actually calling for, Jewish people are native to the Levant and Israel as a country full of millions of people should not be destroyed with all those millions displaced nor should anyone aim to destroy it as part of seeking an end to the oppression that is going on (we don't even get calls for that in countries where settlers aren't historically native in any sense of the word so I don't see why challenging and fighting the radicalisation happening in Israel is expected to include that now as an end result; that's just radicalisation on the Western side of things which also needs to be challenged and fought. We cannot reach justice for Palestinians by enacting injustice on Jewish people any more than justice can be reached for Israeli people by enacting injustice on Palestinians.
With the wording of the article being what it is, I think/hope it's talking only about areas that are Palestinian land that have been taken over and held with cruelty and support from the soldiers, not Israel itself as a country, which is why I'm sharing it as well as the other sources that have been cleared as reliable rather than propaganda.
It also talks about Israeli social justice groups I'm hoping are the helpful ones because I don't remember seeing them on the shitlist and they're calling this out too.
I'm sharing these because we need reliable news reporting on this that isn't just propaganda kicked around by bad faith actors so Palestinians can be taken seriously in their fight for freedom from genuinely oppressive systems they're facing, rather than what too many people use to intentionally whip up antisemitism in people who couldn't care less what's actually happening because outrage is enough for them and Jews are the easy bogeyman to unleash that rage onto regardless of what's specifically happening to Palestinians by specific groups and how that system is upheld according to Israeli activists and even IDF members themselves.
But it does need to be talked about. So here are articles from the ABC but also Times of Israel and +972 Magazine. Please read my notes after as well.
I will finish by again saying PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE if you are a non-Jewish pro-Palestine activist reading this PLEASE understand this is the result of not just Hamas' horrific actions against Israeli civillians being utilised by the government and military to fuel the pain and rage of Israeli civillians against Palestine, but also OUR ACTIONS AGAINST JEWISH PEOPLE AS A WHOLE.
Do not take this post and turn it into another weapon against Jewish people. If you seriously need to be reminded this isn't a monolith situation, there are multiple mentions of Israeli groups standing against what is happening, and the only reason we have some of these articles at all is because of ex members of the IDF speaking out, including people at the commanding level!! Not to mention +972 itself is run by Israeli people. Israel as a whole is not the problem; the rampant radicalisation of people there is the problem.
BUT
If we are going to genuinely talk about that in actual good faith, we CANNOT be going around ignoring our part in that radicalisation. Jewish people around the world are TERRIFIED right now and understandably so. We are allowing antisemitism to sweep through the movement in huge waves that are only getting worse, even to the point of abandoning the people we profess to be fighting for in favour of just attacking Jewish people harder.
(On a positive note, the vaccinations have begun and Palestinians will be less at risk of facing a polio outbreak on top of everything else:)
This is not a simple situation in any sense of the word. There are atrocities happening all over and then bad faith actors are using those acts to push for annihilation of whichever group they want to point the angry mob at. If you want to criticise Israel on this topic, make sure you don't lounge complacently on criticising radicalisation in our own movement, among Westerners in general, in our schools and places of worship and workplaces and especially protests, or we are doing exactly the radicalisation we supposedly are criticising Israel for doing.
Every time we pull shit like what I've linked from my blog above, we push more Jewish people into the radicalisation we insist we're trying to stop. You have to understand that if we want the things in the above articles to end, we cannot be giving Jewish people more reason to believe we just want them dead. There are definitely way too many people who clearly do, who gleefully use actual points about radicalised behaviour among Jewish people to shut down Jewish callouts of antisemitism in our movement and beyond while also continuing to enact that antisemitism even harder, and it makes it nigh impossible to discuss occupation of and radicalisation against Palestinians as a result because many Jewish people are now so used to flinching away from the cudgel they've understandably come to expect from any form of criticism of Israel or attitude toward Palestinians from Westerners, because it's impossible for them to know if we're actually trying to address the actual issues or just picking up the same antisemitic club pretending to be activism again.
We have to move forward trying to incorporate all of this and remove the antisemitic behaviour in our movenent rather than constantly deny it if we are going to actually reach peace, healing, safety and freedom for everyone in Palestine and Israel.
"At the end of the day, this idea that we will be able to achieve stability and security and peace for Israelis while continuing the occupation and stepping on the throats of millions of Palestinians is just not going to work. There is always going to be another generation, there is always going to be another people who will not accept this. Occupation has never worked before in history and it's not going to work now. The only way we're going to have peace, stability and security is if both sides walk out of the room with rights and dignity."
- Yehuda Shaul, former Israeli Military Commander
(I think this is the best I can do for wording all this right now so I hope I handled it somewhat ok.
Again, I am not anti-Israel. I do not believe in destroying Israel and displacing the millions of people who have now lived there for generations any more than I can ignore the building information about areas of Palestinian land that are occupied and the atrocities that are being inflicted on Palestinians and the extremists existing who wish they could wipe them all out. They don't deserve the horrors being inflicted on them by members of the IDF and I also don't believe any Israeli deserves the horrors being inflicted on them by Hamas.
I'm genuinely meaning all this in good faith and trying to help everyone here and I never ever intend to pull more bigotry while fighting it elsewhere. I'm trying to learn information on all this and how to handle it delicately and effectively without causing more islamophobia or antisemitism.
This is an absolute minefield to navigate no matter how well meaning one is because there are so many facets and historical atrocities on both sides involved and that's before including the part the West played in all this to begin with and continues to play while acting like this is only Israel's or Palestine's problem and we somehow had nothing to do with it when we have like at least 70% to do with it because of our rampant antisemitism.
I'm still learning and figuring out how to effectively and with as minimal harm as possible communicate my learnings and thoughts as I go. Please be patient with me if you have any patience left to spare.)
#palestine#israeli palestinian solidarity#human rights#radicalisation#if you want call out radicalisation it can't be a rules for thee but not for me thing#and that applies just as hard to Western activism#denying accusations of antisemitism in our movement harms our movement harms Jewish people all over the world and harms Palestinians#this post is meant to support Palestnians without just adding to all the bullshit people are leveraging against Jewish people#by using the actions of the IDF as an excuse to attack Jewish people#so make sure if you read these articles you do so with the mentality of not allowing the information to feed antisemitism#two state solution#not transformers

Hot take:
But a one state solution under either country is a HORRIBLE IDEA!!! If it’s a one state solution under Palestine, then it will be a full dictatorship akin to Iran and Saudi Arabia that oppresses women, queer people, and Jews; and any Israeli that refuses to leave will either be moved by force, arrested, or executed. Meanwhile, a one state solution under Israel will result in a democratic oligarchy that can only be described as a three way mixture between Russia, South Africa, and India, where although the majority will be treated decently, Palestinians who refuse to move to Egypt or Jordan will either be treated almost like lower class citizens, or they will be forcefully deported like Texan border patrol officers and ICE Agents forcefully deporting Latino Immigrants. So yeah, I think that the only way we can go through this is with a peaceful two state solution with a heavy emphasis on human rights, both sides being held accountable for war crimes, and both countries being full time members of the UN. I just don’t want either country being abolished, and it doesn’t help that there is war crimes and misinformation being spread on both sides. Please, just pray for peace, freedom, coexistence, and solidarity. 🇮🇱❤️🇵🇸🕊️

I hope that the Isreali strike leads to minimal damage and zero casualties as I thinkni speak for both Americans, Iranians, Arabs, and Israelis that a war between Iran and Isreal would be fruitless, pointless, and cause the deaths of many innocents. If there are no casualties, we should defend our ally as normal, but if there are casualties, we should lightly punish Isreal to put them back in line and remind them that we have no stomach to invade Iran.

I just saw a post from someone saying Jews hate Palestinians because Jews have no culture.
First of all, Jews don’t hate Palestinians.
Second of all, the dumbest fucking thing someone could ever say about Jews is that we don’t have culture??????
Anyways, don’t buy into bullshit that tries to divide us. Palestinians and Jews and Israelis all have very rich and distinct cultures. But being that we share a homeland, there is of course some overlap. And we should celebrate it and rejoice in the things we have in common. More unites us than divides us.
First, read more about Jewish culture, Israeli culture, and Palestinian culture.
When you’re done, try one of these wonderful organizations that seeks to find peace for all Israelis and Palestinians:
Or any of the other wonderful organizations you can find at the Alliance for Middle East Peace.
There are over 100 organizations there run by actual Palestinians and Israelis and Muslims and Jews working together for peace.
You can even sort by organizations working in each of the following sectors or even a combination of any of these. There is definitely something where your skills can be put to use:
Be a part of the solution. Don’t depend the divide.

Hi Guys! standing together are encouraging people abroad to become friends of the movement! You will be receive zoom invitation to events and get information on global events!
Bonus: you get to hang out with a bunch of leftists
I have been talking about the movement a bit, so my global friends, here is your time to join in!
Who we are?
Standing Together is a grassroots movement mobilizing Jewish and Palestinian citizens of Israel in pursuit of peace, equality, and social and climate justice. While the minority who benefit from the status quo of occupation and economic inequality seek to keep us divided, we know that we — the majority — have far more in common than that which sets us apart. When we stand together, we are strong enough to fundamentally alter the existing socio-political reality. The future that we want — peace and independence for Israelis and Palestinians, full equality for all citizens, and true social, economic, and environmental justice — is possible. Because where there is struggle, there is hope

Yeah, for example, I am pro Isreal existing as I am anti-ethnic cleansing. Also, the phrase was used FAR before Hamas brutal attack, and before, most people even knew what Hamas was, so it's not tied to Hamas in any way. Hell, a free and independent Palestine is a requirement for Jews to have peace in the region and is an endgame that all major Western nations support; even some Israeli leftists. People can support the innocents on two sides at the same time; it's called fucking empathy.
