Join us for an international #ReadPalestine week, starting Wednesday, November 29, on the International Day of Solidarity with the Palestinian People. During this week, we encourage people around the world to read fiction and poetry by Palestinian and Palestinian diaspora authors, as well as nonfiction about Palestinian history, politics, arts, culture, and life, as well as books about organizing, resistance, and solidarity for a Free Palestine.  To encourage the spread of #ReadPalestine, signatories of the Publishers of Palestine letter of solidarity have organized a Free Palestine Reading List. Participating publishers will be offering one of their e-book titles for free download from November 29 to December 5; all titles will be available through this website. There are currently more than two dozen books on the list in six languages, including a half-dozen award winners, with more coming in. We also encourage readers to post on social media about their favorite Palestine books, to quote from their favorite authors, and to make learning more about Palestine an act of solidarity, using the hashtags #ReadPalestine, #LirelaPalestine, #اقرأ_فلسطين, and more. Participating indie bookstores and libraries are invited to join us by creating Read Palestine displays, social media posts, and other forms of creative solidarity.

"United Souls"
I made this last night thinking about how much we've changed in the last few weeks. We are either giving them a voice or allowing them to be silenced. Not choosing is a choice.

I was talking with this girl in my history class and i went “oh yeah, isnt it international day of solidarity with the Palestinian people?”
she kinda looked confused and asked “how did you know I’m Palestinian?” So i explained she mentioned it a couple weeks back. I mentioned her bracelets and how i liked them (they were bracelets saying her support of palestine) and she said how she couldn’t wear her broach because of threats she was getting.
She seemed extremely fucking happy to be able to talk abt this, so i let her talk as much as she wanted to, pitching in once in a while to get a response of “EXACTLY!”
she told me how happy she was to be able to find someone agreeing with her, and when i asked how no one else had, she said everyone either wasn’t speaking up or was pro-israel.
This is the fucking bare minimum!! And she hadn’t found ANYONE to talk to.
Talk to people you know!! She looked so relieved at someone LISTENING TO HER!! She has family IN GAZA RIGHT NOW that have been shot, and cousins killed in the 2000’s. Her whole family is in gaza. We can’t even drive and she’s going through this godawful shit without people at school to talk to!! It’s the bare fucking minimum. It is the bare. Fucking. Minimum.
Reach out. REACH OUT. It will mean the world to someone, I promise you. we talked for maybe 7 minutes, and it seemed to make her so goddamn happy!! Talk about it!! They can’t know you care if you don’t SHOW you care.

Today (11/29) is International Day of Solidarity with the Palestinian People. Please consider supporting a Palestinian family directly (you can start with this spreadsheet of vetted fundraisers) or purchasing an eSIM to keep someone in Gaza connected.

today, nov 29th, international day of solidarity with the palestinian people
TODAY November 29th, is the International Day of Solidarity with the Palestinian People, and the #BDS movement is calling for an all day social media storm. Our physical and digital actions can be used together to strengthen our demands: Permanent ceasefire and lifting the siege to stop Israel’s genocide in Gaza. Lawful sanctions on Israel, including a #MilitaryEmbargo. Pressure on…

I painted this to symbolize that they can't use their wings. Because they can't escape these attacks but also need to stand up for their home.

The Gaza Monologues: Audio Production in Solidarity with Palestine!
The Gaza Monologues is a collection of testimonies from Gazan youth in 2010, after the first war on Gaza, collected and adapted for stage by ASHTAR Theatre in Ramallah (@ASHTARTheatre), and performed here by 26 people from several countries for International Day of Solidarity with Palestinian People on November 29, 2023. In lieu of copyright purchases, ASHTAR Theatre requests donations to their programs in the West Bank.
This is an audio-only production of The Gaza Monologues, but is posted as a video to include subtitles. Most monologues are in English, but there are two in Arabic, two in Spanish, and one in French. English subtitles are available for all monologues. Currently, subtitles in Arabic, Spanish, and French are only up for the monologues that are spoken in each respective language, though we’ll try to get subtitles up for others in the near future. The script of The Gaza Monologues is available in those languages and more.

"This International Women’s Day we call on all who identify as feminists to engage in the lifelong unlearning of their biases and to be in solidarity with Palestinian women, Sudanese women, Congolese women who are experiencing an ongoing genocide." from The Slow Factory, 08/Mar/2024: caption cont. under images.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
In Palestine, more than 9,000 women have been brutally killed by the Israeli Occupation. 63 women killed per day.
In Sudan, 4 million Sudanese women & girls are at risk of sexual violence.
In the Democratic Republic of the Congo, more than 1 million women have been survivors of sexual violence.
In Turtle Island aka the so called USA, 94% of fatal violence committed again Trans people are committed against Trans women.
This isn’t about the stats, the poverty porn or the constant shock doctrine the West desperately needs in order to be inclusive. This is a call for solidarity and collective action.
Access to feminine hygiene products, bodily autonomy and the access to necessary safe and caring spaces as women are all human rights.
