hellow, new update, for now this is gonna look a bit more like a random thoughts / gameplay simblr...

ts2 is running amazing on fedora 41 - i'm legit not getting ANY pink even with a full stress test of high lot imposters, a TON of high-poly cc, etc! LITERALLY my dream!

but, unfortunately, i haven't got simpe, milkshape, etc. to run yet. which i've been procrastinating for some time due to lack of tutorials but also laziness, i'm liking my new schedule and i can finally enjoy this game the way will wright intended 🩷

A FINAL UPDATE FOR MY PINK SOUP EXPERIMENTATION

at this point, i have tested sims 2 on the latest windows 11 on various other PCs in my house, with both AMD and NVIDIA graphics cards. there's barely any difference. i still am experiencing major crashing and pink soup issues on systems with an RTX 3060, RX 580, GTX 1660 Ti, and of course my 7900 XTX. dxvk, new drivers, literally everything great minds like @osab and @brandinotbroke and many others have suggested has done nothing.

BUT!

at their suggestion, i tried Linux. Fedora 41 as i said above.

AND ALL MY PROBLEMS HAVE GONE AWAY.

other games are now running smoothly too with 0 errors and crashing; of course i don't have access to the same apps and ease of comfort as i did on windows, but hot damn, i can play sims 2! with and without cc! again!!

i am also not the only one, funnily enough! in our tests this massive pink flashing issue seems to affect not just my PC, but many others who have both NVIDIA or AMD graphics cards. the only link we have found... is windows 11.

with Linux it just all goes away!

so tl;dr;

IF YOU ARE HAVING PINK FLASHING ISSUES ON YOUR WINDOWS 11, IT IS LIKELY NOT YOUR PC, IT IS AN ISSUE WITH THE LATEST WINDOWS UPDATE!

so do NOT go out buying yourself an RTX GPU or a new CPU, it is just NOT going to help! don't bother with trying to reinstall windows because literally it has done nothing for me.

our current theory is that something is screwed with the latest update. in directx, in texture memory allocation - literally do not know. all we know is that a different OS just - fixes it. literally and figuratively like magic.

if you're willing to learn how to install Linux and potentially a new SSD, go for it! hopefully in a few days me or someone else will have a tutorial out.

Them being very clearly happy with each other is very important to me. They are objectively not great people who have a lot of blood on their hands, but they’ve managed to make this work. Their bond is what functions properly in their lives and little else is as easy for them. I don’t think they would get together without Miquella bringing them together tbh, but thats just because I can’t imagine them being friendly to each other without that godly guidance. It’s like when a shitty friend is what led to you meeting the love of your life.

I said in my previous post about them that (and I quote) “Leda tops” I will not be taking criticism on this point. Frejya being allowed to be soft is what makes her interesting for me. The war woman should be allowed to be gentle and a bit submissive for her tiny violence wife. If they got modern married I want Leda wearing a white mens suit and I want Frejya wearing a beautiful long wedding dress that trails back twice her height.

I was listening to TMAGP with my partner, who works in cyber secops, and he informed me that windows NT 4.0 was rolled out in 1996 whereas windows 95 was rolled out in 1995 (obviously lol). So win95 is actually the predecessor to NT! It could very well be like a "slight difference between universes" thing, which could be fun, just miniscule differences to add to the unease and "other" this universe a bit more. (and if it's not, then I'm just sharing fun facts!! knowledge is neat!!)

-Animal person -doesn't like being alone (stress is always increasing if no other people in world) -Starvation doesn't hurt right away -mental health is different (stress/anxiety). -hates touching gross/slimey things

"Favorite" food: fruit medley

Info below: (it may be lengthy, oops)

Feels better around animals. Their stress lowers when near them. Tames beefalo a bit faster. Can tame tallbirds that they raise. Animals that usually run away from the survivors don't run away from them unless they hit them. Critters in their inventory lower their stress. Because they are an animal person, killing animals increases their stress (regardless who kills them.) They just don't like seeing animals die even if it's necessary.

When their hunger runs out, there's a small amount of time  before it starts to drain their health. It takes about 15 seconds.

When it comes to "stress."(I know what sanity is in dst, I just wanted something different for them.) They take damage if it's too high. Their stomach is also "full" when it's high. World looks more like scribbles when it's high too. When stress is high, they are not good at attacking or working. They are able to attack and work regularly as long as it doesn't get "high enough." They also won't eat if stress is high.

They get very stressed out when picking up gross/slimey things. Includes manure, any form of rot, slurtle slime, honey(it's sticky,) etc.

They don't mind being wet, so they don't get stressed from wetness. They do hate having to deal with their glasses getting messed up from being wet, so they are completely neutral to wetness.

It takes a while for heat to affect them. They hate the cold, and freeze easily. Low temperature that can seem managable to the others is cold for them. They prefer sitting by the fire pit during the winter. They like to stay put, and refuse to move away from the warmth. Unlessitstheholidaysthentheyllmakeanexception

A few extra things:

They have apiphobia. They are terrified of bees. Being near one(or their hives) always increases stress. (Even the sound of their buzzing stresses them out.)
