I think it just makes me have more questions than answers. But it kinda just calls to me. Like a lot of the memories in my head when I saw it are complete static. But the book- oh that's vivid. I can still see the little drawings in it with perfect detail.

There's a part of me that hopes that if I get it, I can make the static go away and I'll recover what I lost.

And if it fails and does nothing I dont mind. I'll give it to Cass afterwards. I want to see what she does with it. And if she doesn't want it, maybe I can use it to sic something really nasty back his direction.

Infernalists talk all day about universalism being a slippery slope, so lemme confirm their fears: it has 100% been a slippery slope for me.

1. I no longer care about other people’s personal sins, or whether they have them. The reality of sin has lost all of its intrigue and drama for me. I find it much more surprising now when people are kind.

2. If by rationalism you mean expecting religion to make sense, then yes, I’ve become deeply rationalistic. Universalism has given me high standards, and I no longer wish to make excuses for Christianities which conflate the darkness of God with the opacity of lies. I don’t struggle with Biblical clobber passages anymore because I no longer believe that virtue for God could ever be vice for Man.

3. I have lost what zeal I had for what passes for evangelism among ardent infernalists. I do not fear what God will do to my friends if I do not “convert” them. I fear what I will become if I endeavor to force them into my own image.
