Expert Appliance Repair in Kelowna: Your Trusted Service for Every Need
When it comes to maintaining a comfortable and functional home, reliable appliances play a crucial role. From keeping your food fresh to making sure your clothes are clean, everyday tasks depend on the smooth operation of your household appliances. However, even the most well-made machines can encounter problems over time. This is where expert appliance repair services in Kelowna become indispensable.
Why Choose Professional Appliance Repair?
Home appliances are sophisticated devices with complex mechanisms. When they malfunction, it can be tempting to try DIY repairs or simply replace the appliance altogether. However, professional repair services offer several advantages that can save you time, money, and stress.
Expertise and Experience: Professional technicians are trained and experienced in diagnosing and fixing a wide range of appliance issues. Whether it's a refrigerator that's not cooling properly, a washing machine that's not spinning, or an oven that won't heat, a qualified technician can quickly identify the problem and provide an effective solution.
Cost-Effectiveness: While the idea of replacing a malfunctioning appliance might seem like an easy solution, repairs are often a more cost-effective choice. Replacing appliances can be expensive, and many issues can be resolved with a simple repair. Additionally, investing in professional repair services can extend the lifespan of your appliance, providing better long-term value.
Safety and Warranty: Attempting DIY repairs can be risky, especially with electrical or gas appliances. Professional technicians have the skills and tools necessary to handle repairs safely. Furthermore, professional repairs often come with a warranty, offering peace of mind that the job is done right.
Common Appliance Issues We Address
Refrigerators: A malfunctioning refrigerator can lead to spoiled food and increased energy bills. Common issues include insufficient cooling, strange noises, and water leaks. Our technicians can address these problems efficiently, ensuring your refrigerator returns to optimal performance.
Ovens and Ranges: Whether it's an oven that won't heat up, uneven cooking, or issues with the burners on your stove, our repair services cover a broad spectrum of oven and range problems. We ensure that your cooking appliances work reliably, so you can prepare meals without interruption.
Dishwashers: A dishwasher that isn’t cleaning effectively or is leaking can cause significant inconvenience. From clogged filters to broken pumps, we handle various dishwasher issues to restore its efficiency and performance.
Washing Machines and Dryers: Problems like excessive noise, failure to spin, or water leaks are common with washing machines and dryers. Our technicians are adept at diagnosing and fixing these issues, helping to keep your laundry routine running smoothly.

i won't go into details but .
living with disability and parenting often means you have to deal with childrens aid (child protective, whatever else) services.
and isn't not our fault.
we live in a society that does not view disabled people as capable adults and every day, we're fighting that stereotype.
keep us, and all of us fighting through corrupt systems that undermine our ability as parents only because we're disabled, in mind.

I usually reserve this size for instagram post. But since this is TSP related I thought why not here. Nothing crazy but I must say I really loved how the rendering turned out. It was a fun expirience rendering this piece which is a huge leap as I used to hate rendering quite a lot when I began digital art. Here's my old man in digital. Last time I drew him like this was in his love bug form on Ibis. That was last year...dear lord. This account is deader than my soul after applying for several unis. Well, I'll remind myself to upload more stuff soon. I actually have something cooking up but I don't know when exactly will I finish it.

a tactic of abusive parents that i don't see brought up very often: convincing their victims that child protective services are evil and that foster parents would certainly be even more abusive than their current circumstances
#eliot posts#csa mention#abuse mention#im watching an interview with a cult survivor#and she was talking about how her parents told her that child services would hurt her and put her with abusive foster parents#and i was like HOLY SHIT MY MOTHER DID THAT TOO#my mother always told me that if i got put in foster care i would get beaten and molested#and that if we told anyone about our home life they would ''misunderstand'' and ''incorrectly assume'' we were being abused#and then we'd get taken away by uncaring cps workers and given to evil foster parents#when in reality there would be no ''misunderstandings''. what was going on at home WAS abuse#but until my teen years i was convinced i was lucky#because i only got beaten sometimes and i got access to food and a roof over my head and i never got molested#this is not to say the foster system is perfect. there definitely are flaws in the system and occasional bad incidents#but it's nothing like my mother made it out to be#in fact the main issue with child services in my area that i knew of was that they rarely did much#like a classmate i knew called cps on her dad and they showed up and talked to him and he said she was lying#and when they left he punished her by burning her with a cigarette butt#when we were kids a few times our mother called the cops on our dad cuz they got into a violent fight#she'd tell the cops he was abusing her (though the violence was mutual) but when they showed up she refused to press charges#and a few times the cops SAW me and my sister there and DID NOTHING#like maybe if you get called to this same house multiple times you should investigate what's happening to the kids???#child abuse#abuse#abuse tw#anyway i'm still not 100% sure if that was deliberate manipulation on her part or if it was part of her weird paranoia about everything#but nonetheless it ultimately had the same effect as deliberate manipulation#she refused to get help for her mental illness even though a doctor told her she needed to

has anybody ever thought about an MIA/KIA moment to a coming home scene …
#I was thinking Bakugo but then I was thinking actually deku#they have no idea where he is or what happened to his tracker .. it just went *poof* right in the middle of something bad#I’m thinking maybe he got stuck in rubble and the satellite cut out#or captured by villains who did something to it#and there’s a period of waiting but they just call you and tell you the body won’t be recovered#no injury no hospitals no warning … no sorry#and you have to go about your life like nothing happened#you have to visit dekus mom and mourn him together . and there’s a memorial but no body so what can you do?#the announcement wasn’t even a death announcement it was a KIA thank you for his service#and Bakugo is definitely in denial about it when you approach him with it#everyone sort of is#and I wanna say it’s months before he comes home#but you just think he’s dead#and quietly try to move on with life as if your home isn’t .. wasn’t HIS home too. all his clothes and his stuff#you aren’t able to touch or move any of it#BUT THEN! there’s a knock on your door (bc ofc there has to be a knocking moment)#and I want to say you don’t recognize him? but of course you do#so you’re like. deku has a BROTHER?#and he’s all f*cked up looking - emancipated and dirty and maybe something worse#but he’s acting like nothing happened smiling at you saying your name#and you just burst into sobs right there in the doorway when it occurs to you he came home. he came home.#and you’re the first person to know#even before he went to the hospital!!!#I cry#shii posts#gen

A friend of mine (from Spain) went as a teacher/coordinator to the US with a group of 10 year-old kids from Spain in some kind of exchange program. He was careful not to be physically close with US kids, but he also was very clear that he would not have those boundaries with his Spanish students (they were, after all, in a far away country for the first time of their life, far from their parents, for 2 months, and this teacher was their only contact/point of reference from before). It was a bilingual school with some Latina teachers, so it was ok and understood as a cultural difference: he would hug and hold his students, he would speak to them in a way that the US teachers don't.
He also found himself in an uncomfortable and troubling situation where a US student of about that age told him her mom was abusive. He tried to be supportive while still keeping his distance but, obviously, he wanted to help, so he said "if you want to speak about it, I'm here". She brought him a letter detailing all the different types of abuse and bad treatment she received from her mother, and he inmediately went to the principal to see what the next steps would be. "Oh we know. But now you should keep your distance with the girl, so as to not make people think you are getting too close to her". And he was aghast. No mention of calling social services, or a psychologist or anything. Just don't offer any more support to this kid so nobody thinks you are grooming her. What help is a kid in that situation getting then if no adult can even listen to them just in case they are framed as a pedophile? How is this helping? Who is it helping?
I want to believe that the school did something to help this student, or that there are some protocols in place, but socially speaking what the fuck.

How does the narrow face affect the chance of that snake’s survival? Or is it just an indicator of probable other defects?
It's pretty bad and I'm not sure if he'll be able to eat. He emerged fully so I was able to get a better look at what's going on.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
His bottom jaw is reduced and twisted. He can open his mouth but it looks like his glottis is very narrow, too, and pushed close to the front of his mouth. His trachea may be pinched. The quadrate and/or supratemporal portions of his skull (top back) are also deformed and jut out slightly.
There may be other defects at play. I know it's a boy because his hemipenes are currently everted, which is not normal. He did manage to absorb his yolk, but his navel is not fully sealed shut. He's not kinked, though, and he moves normally so we'll see if his condition improves and if he's able to eat once he's completed a neonatal shed.
He reminds me of an Italian greyhound with a severe overbite. I'm going to call him Iggy, which is the most common name for that particular dog breed.

its important to go see a low stakes concert sometimes
#as in seeing someone in concert youre not an absolute nutbag about (as i have done this year and last year)#but last night me n my dad went and saw renaissance on their farewell tour#running on like 4 hours of sleep and seething to be at work right now#or rather i would be seething if i weren't so tired#new anger management hack: just get less sleep so your senses are dulled! anyway#funniest part of the night was the multiples times when my dad who is old was like 'everyone here is so old :/'#he was literally like 'if i ever get like these people just shoot me' LMAO#the concert was good i wouldn't call it like great or fantastic but such is the beauty of a low stakes concert#youre not living and dying on every song youre not singing along to everything youre just. enjoyin the show normally which is crazy#again as someone who has seen two bands (both bands two separate times and is seeing one of those bands a THIRD TIME soon) im crazy over#that experience is fun its bonkers and you definitely gotta do it for the bands youre crazy over. you gotta#but it was nice to just. have a regular time at a show#as far as the show itself there were a few little moments where things didnt go as smooth but that may have been bc it was the first show#and save for a few moments in some songs annie haslam knocked it out of the park she can still sing as insanely good as she used to#again some parts of songs were in a lower key? but most seemed to be the same and she was still hitting those bonkers high notes#so good for her. the band was pretty good but i felt they really only like all worked together well on a few songs#if that makes sense. but overall pretty good#and my anxieties about getting there and back were unfounded bc somehow it all worked. yay#our car service trip home was in a tesla i felt like i was gonna die the entire ride home lol#i am NEVER getting in one of those stupid cars again. big ass ipad as your dashboard this is insane???? im so scared???#anywho. old musicians are forever as ive been saying lately. and they really are#oh also we were at the town hall which is a nice small theater i was worried abt bein too far away but it's laid out really well#in that you're sure to get a pretty good view of the stage#it seems like half the size roughly of the beacon for whatever thats worth#OH i did see one dude somewhere in the audience with a sparks shirt so. hashtag represent#yet another concert report. yayyyyy#(im so tired)

See I think if I'd been born a guy I wouldn't be this pathologically avoidant trying to plan my career because there are plenty of situations you can find as a cis man where you just Do Tasks in awkward silence and you can get to those as a woman but you have to go through the rings of hell socializing first and then besides, a lot of those jobs already have so many men that you stand out when the whole point was you Don't want to do that
#you gotta be god's strongest soldier to survive this shit and i am not! i am god's weakest most pathetic soldier!#i survived five years of customer service crying weekly and getting harassed and being a baby about it#when i got promoted no one would listen to me and it made me constantly anxious and then so tired it took me a year to be able to#think about having a job as something remotely positive and stop crying about it#idk how other women are doing this shit a guy treats me like his sexy servant and i feel BAD and upset for years#and think of what he said 7 years later and they only touched me on the shoulder and made comments other people go through worse!#but i am not strong or determined i just want to go through my life in peace and stop talking to people altogether#it wasn't just guys who treated me badly older women made fun of me and called me lazy and stupid#tutoring was fine but i felt like i was putting on that same performance and at that point it all felt so awful i just. didn't want to#i can see no way out of talking to people for the rest of my life and it gets me down sometimes#i know i get to come home but even then i will probably need people to live with#i basically only like my family and close friends talking to me sometimes even that is hard#sometimes it's way easier to type and feels less awful#i think i have to just keep on keeping on until i can finally get good enough to freelance edit and code that's the only thing i can think#of doing that doesn't make me cry#emails are fine they suck but i don't have to control my face and tone so.

Came home from a weekend away to find out that when the catsitter said she lost her key and had to call a locksmith, he didn’t just make a key to fit our lock. He REKEYED our door so our own keys don’t work 🙃🙃🙃

If the landlord doesn’t want me fishing around in their shower vent and cold air returns, then they shouldn’t make them stink like rotting garbage. You painted over the screws so they’re hard to open? Cool. I’ll drill holes into them and get them out with a power tool because the town next to me is having a citywide garage sale and I’m sure there’s some Ryobi in there at a decent price. Your vents are coming off motherfucker, and if I find anything I swear to fucking god I am going to have both your vents and your bank account cleaned out.
#I also have a closet door that glues itself shut every time it’s closed… because they used fucking Mod-Podge to finish it I guess???#And the knob fell off when I pulled on it. So I stuck a hex wrench in there to try to use it as a handle#but I couldn’t grip it well enough to pull it open#so I karate-kneed the door on the side of the knob while pulling and it opened#As I’m talking about knobs… a knob is responsible for finishing this apartment#The cabinets don’t line up. The bedroom closet doors don’t shut at the same time#because they’re too tight in the jam and push the other out when you close a door while the other door is already closed#The cabinets in the bathroom don’t fully close because the hinges were drilled at an angle#The base molding looks like it fell off a cliff and was fractured in three places#SHIT-COLORED CIGARETTE TAR DRIPS DOWN THE WALLS IN THE BATHROOM WHEN THEY GET WET#Fuck you and your lease. If you’re allowed to have irresponsible carpenters and maintenance; I am allowed to responsibly burn incense#If people are allowed to smoke; I am allowed to burn incense#“No candles” fuck you for making me need to burn scents in the first place#Orwellian fucking apartment. Literally 1984. Not because of the rules; just because the apartment is a dysfunctional shithole#and it smells like the rotting remains of boiled cabbage just like the book#And if anyone asks me why I didn’t call maintenance I’m going to respond with my unresolved service request for the A/C#which conveniently broke down during a heat wave#Did it really break down or did the landlords cut it to save money? Like yes A/Cs break during the summer#but I wouldn’t doubt sabotage either. It doesn’t turn on at all.#The site asked what dates I’d like them to look at it. I gave my dates and said I’d be there all day. I waited at home for two days. No one#No follow-up until nearly a month later saying “We’re still getting to all the service requests please bear with us.” Oh thanks#You couldn’t have done that sooner?
